That's right, it is The Odd Couple on ATV theme
song Thursday, Kevin Washington, my man Martin Wiss is in
for Rob Robins in Detroit as we get ready for
some Thursday night football.

Speaker 3 (00:41):
You got the Cowboys in Detroit.

Speaker 5 (00:42):
Both teams obviously are trying to get this win as
they keep their playoff hopes alive. Mart you'll appreciate this
couple homie shots to Clint Coley.

Speaker 3 (00:51):
He says he's a big time Eagle fan.

Speaker 5 (00:53):
He was like, Lions, Lions, we need y'all as a
hold on. Don't be coming to us out side now,
y'all beat us. You know what I mean? He been
talking big smack, you know, personally to me, and now
all of a sudden he got all posted a picture
what the Lions had on a Lions Jersey. Talking about Lions.
You have one job to do. That's, of course, beat
the Cowboys as they're trying to somehow sneak in this
playoff race. We'll get to that a little bit more

(01:15):
in just a second. If you missed last hour, go
check it out. Don't forget. You can listen to the
podcast Brio have that up for you in a little
bit breeze in for Rock g We had Sean Merriman
join us as well, and check out the YouTube. We're
on it now. All you gotta do is search out
a couple FSSR. You can find it there, share like
comment YouTube beans, please comment away the odd mob. We'll
get to you guys a little bit later on later

(01:38):
this hour. Tim Brando, Fox Sports broadcaster, we'll chop it
up with him and just a little bit and then
at the end of the hour we'll have some shop talk.
That's always fun as well. But Martin, this is a
big game for both teams.

Speaker 3 (01:50):
Again.

Speaker 5 (01:50):
Both teams are, you know, fighting for their playoff lives.
The Lions spen a weird street season for them where
if you just you know they've played well at and
you thought, okay, this is who they are, But then
they've had a couple of games they shouldn't lost, the
most notably, in my opinion, that Vikings game.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
They shouldn't have lost that one halful of weeks ago.

Speaker 5 (02:09):
Now they find themselves seven and five on the outside
looking in. You got the Cowboys at six five and one,
remember that tie with the Packers. But they've been playing
really well as of late, especially the offense, and the
players they acquired in that trade have been producing thus far.
Quinn Williams being on an example of that so big
game that I kick off about five point fifteen, will

(02:32):
watch it and keep you updated. But one of the
bigger conversations a couple of ways going about this game,
Mark I'll start here, is Dak Prescott and how he's
kind of been reminding folks that without the playoff success,
if we were just to simply look at regular seasons,
Dak Prescott has been a really good quarterback. Right Dak

(02:55):
Prescott's put up stats Dak Prescott had prior to last
season when he was hurt, CD was hurt early, a
bunch of defenders, defensive players were hurt. They had three
seasons of twelve and five, which does lead to the
criticism of well, why don't you guys ball out in
the playoffs? You've been twelve and five. The expectations are high.
A couple of seasons back. Dak is an MVP candidate,

(03:15):
you know, so he's been doing this, and I think
that's why sometimes people can be critical of him, is
because you want more that expectations are high. But now
you look at this season and a lot of conversations,
of course, are is he MVP candidate?

Speaker 3 (03:28):
Look at him sixty nine percent complete completion percentage.

Speaker 5 (03:31):
You got thirty two hundred yards, twenty five touchdowns, only
eight interceptions, rating of one hundred and two point four.

Speaker 3 (03:38):
So he's falling out.

Speaker 5 (03:39):
And to me, Martin, I think, unfortunately for any star
athlete on a team in any sport sands for maybe baseball,
it is ultimately going to come down to that win loss,
and it's going to come down to the team play.
And I say that to say because it reminds me
of he's playing great, he's balling out. But am I
not looking at the same season I was looking at
last year, maybe lesser than than Joe Burrow, And it's

(04:03):
the same you know, where Joe Burrow was balling out
of control. But we were sitting here saying, man, but
look at the team. You know, oh man, look at
the team. They're not winning enough. They only got this.
They're looking at their barely five hundred and.

Speaker 3 (04:15):
Seventy almost seventy one percent completion percentage.

Speaker 5 (04:18):
Almost five thousand yards for Joe Burrow, forty three touchdowns,
nine interceptions in a ratio of one hundred and eight
point five. So to me, while Dak has looked very impressive,
the team's been good and fun to watch, I mean
he's not even on the pace of what Joe Burrow was.
And again, it's gonna come down to how they finished.

(04:39):
And I mean it can't be you know, they're six
five and one, so they can't end this season like
you know, nine, what would be ninety seven and one
or something like nine six and.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
One.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
Yeah, it can't be that to me.

Speaker 5 (04:52):
Because then that to me get I go look back
at Joe Burrow had an even better year and what
they finished was it eight nine to nine?

Speaker 1 (05:00):
I got you. So that only way for Dak Prescott
to win the MVP is for the Cowboys from this
point on to the end of the season to not
lose another game. Because the only way for Dak Prescott
to win the MVP is they had to make the playoffs,
and at this point, the outcome of I think tonight
is the first playoff game of the year. Whoever loses

(05:22):
this game, I agree, you can no longer talk about
them as viable playoff contenders, so that Dak MVP dream
might die four quarters from today, right for four quarters
from right now. I now, if in fact the Cowboys
go on a streak, which I'll continue their streak, I
should say they've been on. They've had the best three

(05:44):
games in the probably the best two to three games
stretch that we've seen of any team in the NFL,
just in terms of what they've put on tape in
this last three weeks, right like for a three week period,
obviously not the throughout the whole season. I thought it
was laughable that the Cowboys went toldal was so low
because Dak Prescott has been a guy when he has
been healthy. I believe, outside of his rookie you know,

(06:06):
even his rookie side of the second year, he's double
digit wins. If he's healthy, he's gonna get you to
double digit wins. So I thought a lot of that
was overblown. I think this team would be better with
Michael Parsons on it, obviously, But George Pickens coming over
to Dallas. I saw a report yesterday out of the
Athletic everybody from Pittsburgh is speculating, all the unnamed sources

(06:30):
from Pittsburgh speculate the reason why George Pickens is doing
well in Dallas right now is because there's no quarterback.
There's quarterback stability, there's no quarterback question marks, there's no issues.
We know who the guy is and we're confident in
that guy. And sure enough, George Pickens, like many other
people who are very, very successful at their jobs, want
to know that the people around them are going to
allow them to do to be that level of successful

(06:53):
at their jobs. For me, this is a like I
said before playoffs start today, loser leaves town type match.
I think I've not hurt anybody today, nationally or otherwise.
Pick the Lions to win this game. I'm not about
to be the first to do so, although I do
think it should be a close one and a hard
fought matchup. I just think what Dallas is doing offensively,
plus the end season moves, make this team feel really

(07:17):
really good right now, and especially as they are turning
the corner. And Sean Merriman just said it, this is
when you really start playing your best ball. This is
illusion least time match again. But I think it's mainly
because the two teams. The three teams ahead of them,
the Bears, Packers for the Lions, and then the Eagles

(07:38):
for the for the Cowboys. I think that the Eagles have.
Of those three, the Eagles are the only one that
have a real chance of falling apart.

Speaker 5 (07:45):
We well the Bears too in that they got a
tough role. Let they play the Lions, the Packers twice.
Who else I have to pull it up, but they
got a tough row ahead. I think it's one more
tough one as well. Maybe it's the forty nine ers,
but they got it.

Speaker 1 (08:00):
Even still, even if they go five hundred, they'll still
be ahead of the Lions wild card, they'll be ahead
of you know these other things.

Speaker 3 (08:07):
You talk about. Another playoff game.

Speaker 5 (08:08):
That last game between the Bears and the Lions could
be huge too. I'll add some extra motivation that you know,
Dallas Cowboys lost their falling teammate Marshawn Neeland, who passed
away last month. You know, that could add some extra
motivation into And I find it funny. George Piggins is balling,
which we already knew he was talented. But to your point,
I read that same article and they're talking about, you know,

(08:29):
is the stability with Dak and it's funny, what is
okay when either you're playing well or we are playing well.

Speaker 3 (08:37):
What I mean by that is if you read into.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
That the exactly where you're going.

Speaker 5 (08:41):
One of the issues that he had in Dallas was, man,
he just shows up ladies not always you know, necessarily
paying attention.

Speaker 3 (08:47):
With Pittsburgh, well.

Speaker 5 (08:49):
If you read same things happened in Dallas, they've been
finding them and everything they had to find them.

Speaker 3 (08:53):
That's how ladies been.

Speaker 5 (08:54):
But Dagan, when you're balling and we win in it,
we see that you're a key key cagging this thing.

Speaker 3 (08:58):
We got to shot to turn and see a round.

Speaker 5 (09:01):
It's a little bit different, right, Well, he's just a
little lady little look, you know, a little tardiness.

Speaker 3 (09:05):
Ain't never did nothing nobody, you know.

Speaker 1 (09:07):
I don't think it's that different. I think the difference
is is what is valued in different places? Right, So
like I'll equate this to something language that we both
speak and nobody else does. SOLF sorry Insight radio, but
no TV. Right you might have a great producer who
simply can't spell, right man, right now, what I'm saying

(09:28):
all types of great ideas. Somebody that can sit there
and fill your run down out. They will have you
with the highest rated opening segment every single day as
long as you listen to them. But you do not
let them write a single thing that goes on to
TV because they're gonna spell two with three to zeros, right,
you know, like you just don't do it because they
can't spell. They can't They the typeos don't work for them.

(09:50):
They don't see it all though, correct is a fail.
Do you fire that guy or girl or do you
put that guy or girl in a position where they
could do what their best at and minimize the things
that they're going to struggle with. I'm not saying that
they never have to write anything. I'm just saying that
somebody else is gonna check up on it. So I'm
not saying George Pickens is always on time. I'm saying, though,

(10:12):
maybe Georgia and maybe we give Georgia five minute window.
Maybe we give Georgia five mint window.

Speaker 5 (10:17):
Yeah, maybe that's okay, but I'll tell you what, but
you know, that's a great example. And listen to somebody
who reads a teleproblem there every single day. Brother, Trust me,
when they start doing certain things, they'll put the dash
in between us. They got me talking about us. I'm
talking about us. It's supposed to be US. I'm like,
it's today today in the US, in.

Speaker 1 (10:34):
The US US World Report.

Speaker 5 (10:37):
Yes, in the US period. So trust me, I know
all about it. You ain't lying about that. But I
still think instead of six five and one, if they
were one five, you know, one in seven or something
like that or whatever it would be, then you know,
third three and eight or whatever, we'd been sitting here
like man joy, if only he took it serious, if
only he was locked in. He's got the talent, so
you know, but you're right. They look they know they're

(11:00):
trying to win something. They don't want to waste the
window of DAK and CD and all this. So if
he if Bruh's gonna miss they talked about, you know, Martin,
he might miss a few team buses.

Speaker 3 (11:11):
You might miss a few team buses.

Speaker 5 (11:12):
He's not miss a buster he's got uber money right,
he might miss a bust that I was cracking up
when I've read that. But so I see what the
Cowboys do. I want to I'll go to the other
side of this a little bit. With the Lions. The
thing that has been a little frustrating watching them, I
start to feel like they're they're looking so big picture,

(11:35):
they're forgetting the small things, and it's almost like you
gotta take care of this in order to get to that, right.
They the way they've handled some games by day I
mean Dan Campbell, but on down they've handled it like, oh,
we're nine and one, don't worry about that game. And
it's like, no, you're creating bad habits that could affect

(11:56):
you later ultimately affect you getting in Avian in the playoffs,
but let alone affect you in the play And we've
talked about it.

Speaker 3 (12:01):
I think even you and I have talked about it.

Speaker 5 (12:03):
Rob and I have talked about it. Just because you
usually do doesn't mean you have to. And their approach
to well, we won't punt here, we won't kick a
field goal here, we'll go for here, or we'll screw
the fact that we're on the on side of the ball.

Speaker 3 (12:16):
That's just not situational.

Speaker 5 (12:18):
And that, to me, Martin has come back to possibly
hunt them with a couple of games or a couple
of moments here where they could have stolen a game
or not given one away if they had played better
contextualized football or situational football. And that does worry me
obviously as a Lions fan, that let's say they sneak
in getting the postseason. Did you learn from San Francisco

(12:39):
or is this this whole This is just what we do.

Speaker 3 (12:43):
This is just who we are.

Speaker 5 (12:43):
It's okay to evolve, it's okay to be situational. And
that is one of the things that worries me. And
you know, I say this last point because I read
a whole thing. Dan Campbell still mad about two years
ago when they lost in Dallas and the skipper play
or he caught the I haven't caught the past two
point conversions should have won the game.

Speaker 3 (13:02):
Then they did it again, Then they did it again,
and uh, they were talking about how this still haunts them.

Speaker 5 (13:07):
They're still mad about it, but that's who we are
and blah blah blah, And I'm like, man, don't find
yourself in another situation because they had lost this season
before that to Dallas in a weird kind of way,
they thought they should have had it. I'm like, don't
find yourself in a situation against an offensively good team
like this where you're giving them extra possessions, you're giving
them the ball, where you're you're leaving points on the
on the field. That will drive me crazy if that

(13:30):
is something I find that the Lions are doing today, Martin, So.

Speaker 1 (13:33):
I would say this, I I've decided I'm good with
the going for it. There only been one time really
in the entirety of the Dan Campbell era that I
was like, Yo, you gotta you gotta chill, And that
was the Eagles game. We were sixteen to nine. It's like,
it's a you're a it's a one score game, dude,
Like yeah, and you go for five on fourth down?

(13:54):
Like you know what I mean, Like, all right, we
have we have pushed this to critical mass. But I
do not have an issue with the with the Lions
going for it game plan wise, game script. I'm good
with everything Detroit does. I mean that's wholeheartedly, because I
think the bigger issue in Detroit has been the issue
of the last two seasons, they have no depth because

(14:15):
they're always hurt. And I get it that people will
will will point and say, you know, everybody gets hurting football,
so on and so forth. I hear you. But also,
there's gotta be something that you're doing fundamentally that is
causing all of these cluster injuries. Whether it's it's the
way you, the way they're working, something about that has

(14:38):
to be fundamentally changed. And I think it's the same
thing as San Francisco. I think it's these.

Speaker 5 (14:43):
These oh you took the words out my mouth, these
teams that are built on real being very physical and
all of that.

Speaker 1 (14:50):
I get it, and I but I just think it
takes you. You have to scale it back just a
bit because you guys got to be ready on Sunday, Monday,
and Thursday. And I think that's the biggest that has
been the biggest issue for the Lions across the board.
They win in the playoffs last year, if they are
not starting eleven new players on defense.

Speaker 5 (15:09):
Dude, I had to screen that to Rob Parker every
day against Washington. I'm like, dude, he was like, he
kept playing Jared Goff and I said, despite Jared Goff's turnovers.

Speaker 3 (15:16):
You're right, he was terrible, fake four or five turnovers
in that game.

Speaker 5 (15:19):
They were right there, yes, And I said their defense
was there and not making jayde and Daniels look like
the return of you know, Joe Montana or something, or
Doug Williams in the Super Bowl. If you want to
keep it in with the you know, Washington the community,
I'm like, they win that game, and so mad was
a whole thing was that team's defensively, especially on the
injuries on the defensive side.

Speaker 3 (15:39):
The ball has cost him so much.

Speaker 5 (15:40):
And now what I'm in Ron Saint Brown, you know,
banged up, we'll know, we'll see what he looks like.
And then Laporta out as well. But they're gonna have
to find a way to push through because let me
tell you what, the league. Ain't nobody feeling sorry for him,
but this is this is gonna be an interesting game.
Obviously the Lions favorite three and a half. But to
your point, seems like everybody signed with the Cowboys. Only
thing I'll say about the Cowboys, Martin, or at least

(16:03):
another thing, A couple of those games they did pull off,
they didn't look they didn't look great. Against the Eagles,
they had a great was the second half, you know
what I mean, they weren't rolling like that.

Speaker 1 (16:13):
So it's about four minutes into this, four minutes left
in the second quarter, things kind of you can feel.

Speaker 5 (16:19):
Yeah, So there is an element of me that's like, Okay,
they've looked good offensively. Their defense hasn't been as great
as maybe people got excited about because they've made a
few plays here there, and I start to wonder, like,
all right, are we hyping them up just a little bit.

Speaker 1 (16:33):
So if I'm the Lions, I'm saying it ain't that good,
you know.

Speaker 5 (16:36):
But they're gonna have to figure out something. I was
listening to all the football talking head talking about the Lions.
They're not gonna be able to play as much man.
They play man defense seventy percent of the time, and
against that receiving corps man that offense with Dak, you're
gonna have to mix it up.

Speaker 3 (16:51):
You're gonna have to give them different looks.

Speaker 5 (16:52):
So Kelvin Sheppard, the defensive coordinator for the Lions, this
might be his most important, biggest game of the season
because they're gonna have to give this defense. The Cowboys
offense they're gonna have to make them see things differently.
Eight and hutcheson and the guys are gonna have to
get in there because if you just let Dak sit
back with CD on one side and GP.

Speaker 3 (17:12):
On the other, it's gonna be a long game for
the line's secondary.

Speaker 1 (17:15):
Yeah, it didn't matter what time the bust left. George
Pickles will be on time for the game. He go
be at the game. He'll be practice, Rack. We talked
about practice. He might not be there all right. Eight
seven seven ninety nine on Fox. You want to jump
in on this? Who do you expect to win? And
is Dak a realistic MVP candidate? Eight seven seven ninety
nine on Fox, And don't forget we got Tim Brando.

here often on vacationing, but I've.

Speaker 3 (19:35):
Been here, all right. Yeah, it's a little it's a
dangerous place. It's a little wild place, you know what
I mean.

Speaker 5 (19:39):
You can get a little crazy, a little a little
it can be you know, it's like you walked in
the wrong group chat sometimes like oh shoot, let me
let me all right, what y'all going? I got going
on up in here? Cand be crazy. We'll sprinkle in
some of those. You see something Martin too, you can.

Speaker 1 (19:50):
Drop some eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox.

Speaker 5 (19:52):
Martin and I were just talking about the Cowboys and
they're in Detroit Thursday night football kicking off here and
you got Dak Prescott. A lot of people say, oh,
sneaky dark horse for MVP, and you got a game
in which both teams are operating for sure, like it's
a playoff game. They have to have this one. Who
do you think is gonna come out? Let's take some
phone calls again? Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox. Uh,

(20:12):
let's go to Drew Drew out in New Jersey. Drew,
you're on with the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (20:18):
What's up, Drew?

Speaker 6 (20:20):
Hey, Galvin, I think that Doc definitely has a chance
of winning the Super Well, how are winning an MVP? However,
I think that I'm rooting for Stafford to win because
if he wins it, he's in the He's locked himself
in for the Hall of Fame. And I don't think
anybody with the Super Bowl ring and an MVP has
ever not made the Hall of Fame, which can be

(20:41):
interesting for Rob to react.

Speaker 3 (20:45):
No, he'll find away.

Speaker 5 (20:46):
Come on, Drew, you know he'll find a way to
say no, all those numbers don't count. He was stating
the pad whatever he calls it, Matthew stat.

Speaker 3 (20:53):
Pat he had yeah.

Speaker 5 (20:56):
Yeah, Well no, don't bring up Lamar because you know
he'll find something else, But Matthew Stafford, I do agree,
and thank you for the call.

Speaker 1 (21:02):
Drew.

Speaker 5 (21:03):
I don't know where you are, Martin, I said, as
much as you know, I'm a Lions fan. I don't
think he has to be in like for some reason
he just retired tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (21:10):
Oh no, he doesn't have to be. I'm not one
of those people.

Speaker 5 (21:12):
Yes, he's been amazingly talented, probably more talented than a
lot of quarterbacks that are even in there. But I
also say there's still some things to be done, and
MVP would absolutely help. Maybe another deep playoff run, maybe
if he gets to Super Bowl, maybe if he doesn't
even win it. But just to say, you know, okay,
he went to a couple one to one things like
that can help. I don't think it's a he has
to be in right now.

Speaker 1 (21:33):
And I think when we like the list came out
just recently, if not today, like only five guys get
in a one time. Dude, it's the hardest place to
get into. You could say that there are people that
have had Hall of Fame worthy careers who are not
in it, and that's where the oh no comes from
out of me, Like Matt Stafford is great, but he's
just is he the greatest of this generation?

Speaker 5 (21:55):
I know, no, man, So I think he's still still
some room left to be done between you know, today
and obviously the end of his career. He has another
DP playoff run, maybe gets the NFC Championship game balls out.

Speaker 3 (22:06):
He's an MVP.

Speaker 5 (22:07):
All right, that's another you know, a little thing on
a feather in his cap, and then one more season
like that.

Speaker 3 (22:12):
Maybe he's in.

Speaker 5 (22:12):
All right, I'll take another callers, go to Andrew and Shytown. Andrew,
you're on with the Odd Couple Fox Sports Radio, the
TV Themes on Thursday.

Speaker 3 (22:20):
What's up, Andrew?

Speaker 7 (22:21):
What's up?

Speaker 8 (22:22):
Guys?

Speaker 7 (22:22):
How are you guys doing today?

Speaker 1 (22:24):
Doing doing well? Hope you're doing on that polar vortex
out there. It is miserable Tago.

Speaker 7 (22:28):
Right now it is twelve, but it feels like minus
five from what I saw on my phone, So it
is just beautiful.

Speaker 1 (22:37):
I can't wait to go next week.

Speaker 7 (22:41):
Are you free? Are you coming?

Speaker 1 (22:42):
Yeah? I go there about once once a month for work.

Speaker 7 (22:45):
Bro Yo. I met up with Rob earlier in the
summer at the White Tax Game. If you're here, definitely
hit me up. I'm on Twitter twelve, Coltiano five to nine.
Rob falls me as well. I'd love to take you
to a columb restaurant or just anything.

Speaker 1 (23:01):
Man at negative five, I'm not I might have to
catch you in March, but just hit me on Twitter.
We'll get in touch. What's your what's your call? And
do I got you?

Speaker 8 (23:09):
Uh?

Speaker 7 (23:10):
So I think with this take. To be honest, I
know Dan Campbell hasn't lost the back to back game
since I think what yes, yeah, I think Detroit might
take this. But man, I've always said, uh, Dak is overrated,
but he's proven me wrong. And I think the way

(23:32):
that I was hearing him, just like Jerry did that
whole trade for now, So I feel like they're finally
getting the engine running. So I hate to say because
I want Detroit to pull through, but I think this
game is going to be an upset.

Speaker 1 (23:46):
I get your point, because I mean that's impressive.

Speaker 5 (23:47):
They haven't lost back to back and was it twelve
or thirteen losses?

Speaker 3 (23:52):
Now the Lions haven't lost back to back games.

Speaker 1 (23:55):
They have lost three or five. So they've lost one
one one lost one one one?

Speaker 3 (23:58):
Stay focused, okay, have backed back?

Speaker 6 (24:02):
Spit true.

Speaker 1 (24:03):
Anybody asks for Martiny spin troop over.

Speaker 5 (24:05):
There, man, So I get the you know, they come
in and maybe it's a little bit of a lift.

Speaker 3 (24:09):
That they got. I'm in rodd S brown back.

Speaker 5 (24:11):
You know, obviously I don't think he's gonna be able
to do what he normally does, but maybe that's a
little inspiration right there. You know, we'll see. So we'll
get some more from that game in just a little bit.
We got Tim Brando joining us on the other side
of trending Monci Belanos right now, what is trending?

Speaker 1 (24:24):
Yeah?

Speaker 9 (24:26):
All right, guys. We've got Week fourteen of the NFL
officially underway, and it is a tie game in Detroit.
Both teams hit a field goal on their opening drive,
so it's still early in the first quarter here. Doc
Prescott is three of five for twenty five yards. Jared
Goff is three of four for thirty seven yards. But
Jamier Gibbs, who's on my fantasy so that's why I

(24:47):
care about. He's got two carries for seventeen yards and
one catch for twenty six yards to start the game,
so not too shabby. Other NFL news, Eagles defensive tackle
Jayalen Carter is out for Monday Nights game against the
Chargers undergoing a procedure this past Monday on both his shoulders.
When it comes to Justin Herbert, he was listed as
a limited participant in today's practice. Commanders did upgrade Jade

(25:09):
and Daniels to a full participant in today's practice, so
he's trending in the right direction to start Sunday at Minnesota.
No practice today for Ravens quarterback though Lamar Jackson and
Raiders defensive end Max Crosby went from being a limited
participant in Wednesday's practice to not participating today due to
a knee injury. Las Vegas hosts Denver four Week fourteen.

(25:29):
When it comes to the NBA tyrese, Maxi has twenty
seven points in the seventy six Ers lead the Warriors
seventy one to fifty three, Celtics on top of the
Wizards eighty one to seventy both of these games.

Speaker 1 (25:40):
Late in the third quarter, the Lakers are playing.

Speaker 9 (25:43):
Without Luka Thancic, but they're leading the Raptors sixty one
to fifty late in the second quarter. Late in the
first quarter, where the Timberwolves have a twenty nine to
twenty six lead over the Pelicans, there is no top
twenty five college action in men's college hoops.

Speaker 1 (25:56):
But Doug Gottlieb's team.

Speaker 9 (25:58):
Is playing and they're up right now on Robert Morris
sixty sixty sixty one with about six minutes.

Speaker 1 (26:05):
To go in the game.

Speaker 9 (26:06):
So come on, coach Doug Gottlieb. When it comes to
the NHL, the Rangers have a three to one lead
over the Senators late in the second period. Penguins are
shutting out the Lightning three zero halfway through the second period,
and the Islanders have a forty two lead over the Avalanche,
also halfway through the second period.

Speaker 1 (26:23):
Back to you guys, all right.

Speaker 3 (26:24):
Monzi, looking, Rob's at the Lions game right now.

Speaker 5 (26:28):
I don't know what mark which one is worse for him,
Doug's team winning or the Lions winning.

Speaker 1 (26:32):
If they both have today, Rob, he might not make
it back. That trip to Mexico might actually have it.

Speaker 3 (26:38):
That might actually happen right there, thank you, Monci.

Speaker 1 (26:42):
I think they're four and five right now, all right,
I'm telling you teams. Rob Parker hating teams right around
five hundred dos time for him.

Speaker 9 (26:49):
They are four and five, all right.

Speaker 3 (26:52):
I'm not mad at him.

Speaker 5 (26:54):
We had three three right now, thank you, Monci. Three
to three right now in this Thursday night football game,
Cowboys have the ball. Will continue to keep you updated
on that, expecting to get Tim Brandle.

Speaker 3 (27:04):
Hopefully we'll get them here in a moment.

Speaker 5 (27:06):
But again going to this game, man, the Lions, definitely
the ball is in their hands. As far as the
rest of the rest of the stretch of the season,
you got the Minnesota Vikings, who obviously at this point
you should be able to beat.

Speaker 3 (27:20):
Now I'm giving up. It's gonna be a difficult game.

Speaker 5 (27:22):
We saw the Panthers beat the Rams, but you got
the Rams left coming down the pike.

Speaker 3 (27:26):
You got the forty nine ers. Is gonna be a
tough one as well.

Speaker 5 (27:31):
And of course this game, I think I might be
missing one more. But the Lion, it's right there for
them to still sneak back in this thing, Martin. But again,
it's gonna come down to starting tonight for them and
how well they can you know, if they can get
this thing going, and then all of a sudden, I
figure the most they can lose, and that have to
even be an optimistic circumstances as what to be ten

(27:54):
and seven, and maybe someone in your favor I.

Speaker 1 (27:57):
Don't think a team. I think the NFC cards decided
with six losses. I don't think either one of these
teams can afford to lose another two games. Outside of
like that, whoever loses this one obviously is gonna lose it.
They can't lose again for the rest of the year.
If I think if they lose two more games, realistically
it's done for unless again, like I said a minute ago,

(28:19):
you see the I mean collapse of the Eagles, a
collapse of the Packers or Bears, right, because it's gonna
have to take a monumental type of thing for these
guys to win the division. I like the Cowboys chances
better than the better than the Lions at this point.

Speaker 5 (28:34):
If you're a the Lion's just looking at the schedule
for them. You win this one, it gets tough because
the next week they'll be here in La taking on
the Rams.

Speaker 3 (28:45):
Which I'm trying to get to that game.

Speaker 1 (28:46):
But then after that, you got it.

Speaker 5 (28:49):
It's not easy, but it's doable. You host the Steelers,
which aren't a great team. Who knows where they'll be
in You know that'll be two.

Speaker 3 (28:57):
Weeks from now.

Speaker 5 (28:59):
You will go to Minnesota, which again that's beatable on
Christmas Day, that should be you know, fit and you
ended in Chicago as we were just talking about, there's
gonna be cold de tech out there.

Speaker 3 (29:10):
Soldier States, Soldier Field, Soldier stateum.

Speaker 5 (29:13):
But you'll be playing the Bears, So that might be
it because you figure the Rams, let's say they lose
theirre because Ram is a really good team.

Speaker 3 (29:22):
You lose if you you know, that could be the.

Speaker 5 (29:24):
One that what you're referring to, the one loss, okay,
and it could end up being you beat the Bears,
you're in, you lose to the Bears January fourth game
to time to be determined as we get closer, but
that could ultimately be it right there for the Lions.

Speaker 1 (29:39):
And the NFL tries to set these up like this, right,
That's why I like the Packers play the Bears Sunday
and then again Sunday after next, right, so they play
them right away and is trying to develop these the
high stakes who's gonna make the playoffs, whos gona miss
the playoffs type of drama leading into it. So, yeah,
you're absolutely right, that's why it's set up like that.

(29:59):
In January, Like if you're a team like a Kansas City.
You love it generally historic passion because you're able to
get an extra day of rest for some of your
star players.

Speaker 5 (30:08):
But right which could that could end up being huge
for the Lions too if the Bears end up wanting
to rest some guys and Thelion's like, shure, we'll take it,
you know what I mean, We'll take it to have
an opportunity to win it.

Speaker 4 (30:18):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and kelvin Washington weekdays at seven pm Eastern,
four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 5 (30:29):
All right, we got him on the line, Tim Brando,
Fox Sports broadcaster Tim Branda on X give him a follow, Tim,
what's up man? Welcome to The Odd Couple on a
TV themes on Thursday.

Speaker 8 (30:38):
Kevil Man, how are you? I'm doing great? And police
pass along my uh my love and affinity for one
Rob Parker? Will you give me my best.

Speaker 1 (30:47):
When you talk to him, We'll do well.

Speaker 5 (30:49):
He probably knowing him. He might be even listening right
now in Detroit. What do you make of this game?

Speaker 2 (30:54):
Too?

Speaker 5 (30:55):
We were just talking about a do or die for
both of these do you think either of these teams
can afford to lose? We were saying another game after
this one? Is it the two losses for if you're
the Lion sit at seventy five? Or is this you
only get one loss the rest of this stretch for them?

Speaker 8 (31:09):
I'll take it another step. I'll tell you that I
think if the Cowboys win this game, and really they
should personnel wise, I think they they can give Detroit
Secondary a lot of trouble with those two receivers if
Doc Dak is on. And ironically, i just left Detroit
the airport and I'm in East Lampton now for our
Saturday game between Duke and Michigan State on Fox. That's

(31:33):
new in eastern nine Pacific times. So a little shameless
plug there, but no, I think if the Cowboys win
this game and Philadelphia loses this weekend, I think the
Cowboys can win the division. I really believe that. I
think that those two victories and the one particularly against
Kansas City, they's got them riding high. I live in Shreeport, Louisiana.

(31:55):
That's my hometown. That's right on the Texas Arkansas Louisiana border.
Big Boys Penry I'm not a fan. I'm not a
fan of any NFL teams. Really. I did Saints preseason
games for a number of years as a Louisiana boy.
That was a lot of fun for me. But I
just believe that the Cowboys kind of found something and
if they can keep that mojo working. It all comes

(32:16):
back down to the offense. The defense is going to
yield some yards and give up some points, but that offense,
when it's cooking and it's been cooking, can be really,
really good. I think Philadelphia is vulnerable right now.

Speaker 1 (32:29):
I do, Tim, I agree with you. I've been dancing
around that all show. But if you ask me the vibes,
I love the vibes in Dallas way more than the
vibes in Philly. But I got to ask you. I'm
an also the Louisiana boy have been listening to call
college football for a long time, So I got to
ask you, how do you feel about what Texas has
been doing this last week campaigning to get into the

(32:51):
college football Playoff. With the assertion that if we didn't
schedule Ohio State, and we had scheduled Northwest or Southeastern State,
we would have won that game was to losing, Ohio
State would only have two losses, ignoring the fact that
they lost to Florida.

Speaker 8 (33:05):
Well, the brand name was city put on the college
football playoffs, and I remember telling people when we went
from four to twelve, everybody funck, well, this is the doctor.
Well no, it's only going to make it first. It's
all more people. And that's exactly what's happened. I mean
you talked about I mean, it's just insane to hear

(33:29):
under your chatz Arkansas ad that took over for the Baylor,
a d who had some issues off the field, a
spokesperson for the I mean, it's just a dumpster fund
the whole process and makes the seat and more that
Texas with the aid and a bad coming from the SEC.

(33:53):
They believe that this damn thing is an SEC complication. Okay.
They believe it's their divine right to play in everything
that's big in college football solely because they're a brand name. Right,
We're Alabama. Listen. I did thirty of my forty plus
years in this business at the SEC. I've got great
love and affection from my time center in the Southeastern complience.

(34:16):
But what's transpiring here and the level of brand bias
and SDC in particular bias being recognized by this committee
in lieu of what commission to frex. Thank you that
all of last year, after the SMU debacles took play
and they got in and Alabama didn't. They've all decided

(34:38):
that not only should the SEC get three teams, if
they should get five teams.

Speaker 10 (34:42):
In maybe six Okay, so it's out of control when
you see teams like Texas Tech and BYU playing for
the Big twelfth title game this weekend, all right, when
you see that game and you recognize that if by
You loses that game, they got no shots, no shot,

(35:03):
they would only have two offers and it would be protective. Second, who,
in my opinion, is not only better than Texas, they're
better than Texas A and M.

Speaker 8 (35:12):
They lost one game with a hurt quarterback in Arizona State.
The Big twelve and the has just been as competitive
as that we is. It has just shoved the side
because of the FBC.

Speaker 1 (35:25):
Margin, The Big twelves marginalized like so the PAC twelve
was before it. I don't know what they're looking for
besides the a, AFC and NFC and college football. And
it's ridiculous.

Speaker 3 (35:33):
No, that's where we're headed.

Speaker 8 (35:36):
I've never seen that many reasonably intelligent men look so stupid.
They look every Tuesday night. But that's theft show.

Speaker 5 (35:43):
Well, Ti, Tim stay here for us, timberright on what
does Fox broadcaster on the OYE couple Kevin Washington Martin
and for brob Let me let me just stay here
with college football for a little bit.

Speaker 3 (35:54):
Uh how much longer?

Speaker 5 (35:56):
I mean, do you see a day where we get
to we talk about this all the time on our show,
where he's just gonna be twenty twenty five teams in
the Big ten, twenty twenty five in the SEC and
they essentially say, screw you in CAA. We're gonna do
it our own way, start our own big thing. I mean,
is that feasible? I mean, we're already paying players, we
already got a io, we're already doing this. We've got
transferred like essentially NFL light if you will, where it's

(36:19):
got its own thing.

Speaker 8 (36:21):
Everything's on the table, fella, everything's on the table. But
the problem is the people that are governing these conferences.
And again, these are reasonably intelligent people, many of whom
I have great respect for. I work for Tony Petiti
for nine years at CBS. He's got very well liked
by the media because he's not as accessible to them

(36:41):
as thank he is. Thank you'll throw a press conference
in the middle of of the home Depot parking lot
in Birmingham, Okay, you'll talk to anybody, but the TV
doesn't do that. Okay, he's he's one of these leaders
that has great ideas, but he doesn't want to share
them with anybody until it's time to announce the beal,

(37:03):
you know. But when they plow stuff up on the
wall as he did in the off season about earning
bids and going to sixteen and having automatic qualifiers. I'm
all in on the automatic qualifying. I think we need
to do that. But the problem in what you're talking
about is having, you know, two super conferences is I
don't know that you can get these leaders, either Sankei

(37:24):
or for TD certainly Brett your Mark and Jim Phillips,
the two commissions of the ACC and the Big Twelve.
They can't agree on anything. And then when push comes
to seffs, what do they all wind up saying when
they're talking about rev share and the NIL and the portal, Oh,
we need help from Congress rank God, anybody's thinking Congress
is going to have an answer what planet.

Speaker 3 (37:49):
Channel watching? And we'll see that even in politics, it's just.

Speaker 8 (37:53):
Hubris and egos too easily bruised. But we need to
blow this thing up and start all over again. And
we don't need the n c a A involved at all.
The NCAA that's one thing, right, the NCAA Men's basketball tournament,
that's it.

Speaker 11 (38:08):
They's nothing out right, Tim, And they're facing bowl games.
They they give us portal dates that are terrible, They
give us national fining dates that are terrible, right in
the middle of the season, and they force that. They
do everything in their in their power to undermine college football,
not to help it, but to undermine it.

Speaker 8 (38:30):
So we need them to hell out of it. You're
absolutely right about that. Well to do this tell is
for these ser individuals that I respect to finally learn
how to get along.

Speaker 5 (38:40):
We got to stop it there, Brother. Appreciate you'all. Glad
you were able to preach right there. We almost have
some church organs going. Appreciate it, Tim, Tim, so thank
you so much for joining man. We appreciate having wonderful
rest of your week.

Speaker 8 (38:51):
Happy to do a fellas anytime, no doubt.

So Martin, I'm a little behind trying to watch it
on the that touchdown score it counted.

Speaker 1 (39:28):
No, so Jamis and Williams stepped out of bounds before
scoring a touchdown. Jamior Gibbson ran it in for a touchdown.
Oh god, what you you caught some some fire from
our Saturday show, Martin Weiss and Mosey Blanos eight to
eleven pm Eastern. We have arguments about the rules. She
doesn't get. She doesn't think they should count sometimes.

Speaker 5 (39:46):
Okay, all right, well all right, because I'm sitting there
like wait a minute, I just sat down, got it
all going here.

Speaker 3 (39:51):
I see the touchdown, so we'll get to that.

Speaker 5 (39:53):
We're gonna do shot tal but we're running so short
on time, so we won't worry about Maybe we can

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
