Speaker 2 (02:23):
Nose, not like somebody else. Somebody else shut it down.
First of all, I have to say to all this
stuff you're talking over there is in the words of
Larry June for all my hip hop fans numbers, and
they got saying.

Speaker 6 (02:34):
Well, you know what the streets are saying, at least
the next show gets their staff food, you know, a

thousand dollars car payment.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
Mike, Hey, Ron g is the biggest pocket watcher I know.

Speaker 3 (02:52):
Is your car course two thousand dollars? Really?

Speaker 2 (02:55):
Now, I'm talking about you like I switched on you.
I think both of y'all.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
Both of y'all got my mortgage riding around at first.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
Of all, mine is not mine? Is not robs my
eye not that?

Speaker 3 (03:06):
Would you stop? I don't know, y'all look like Jet
Magazine when you pull up together.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
Hey, hey, Rob, why we could be Rolling Stone while
we had to be Black Magazine? I know we can't
see that's the why we're going to be limited to
black and exactly at Alex Magazine, I had a Ford Pinto.

Speaker 3 (03:22):
I mean, what do you believe that I had a Ford
Pinto when was a guy?

Speaker 2 (03:26):
That's our first car, a nineteen eighty seven white Pontiac Sunbird.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
How did you like to in the nineties?

Speaker 4 (03:33):
By the way that I said that on MLB network,
did you see I've sent it to you and.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
They and they posted it. They said what.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
Of course I was so mad.

Speaker 3 (03:46):
Was like, oh that's so clever.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
We got to put that on social and then you
send it to us like we ain't it two thy,
four hundred and ninety six times.

Speaker 3 (03:54):
Some things never changed, all right.

Speaker 6 (03:56):
I told Rob I was mad when he said He's like,
Rob G, you're not the demographic You've heard this, Joe, go.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
Ready right, I'm just trying to somebody.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
Else who hasn't heard it.

Speaker 2 (04:02):
That's it's funny to other people. Why you send it
to us? I want you to hear it every day,
three times at least.

Speaker 4 (04:10):
I want you to see how MLB network was like,
oh we got to get this on social.

Speaker 3 (04:16):
They didn't go, oh god.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
You know what happens that we have all these TVs
up through Spectrum and I'll be in there doing work,
doing my thing, and then I'll turn over and I'll
see you. It's too early in the morning. I got
to see him later. We don't want to see him
at eight forty two am.

Speaker 3 (04:31):
I got do you know how many pictures I've gotten?

Speaker 4 (04:33):
When I was doing first take from friends in sports
bars or whatever, and they do that all the time. Man,
if you don't get out of my face right now,
there's like twelve TV and you're on all of them.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
Okay, it's the worst. Did you eat a poppy sea
bagel earlier? Get out? Get out of my face right now?

Speaker 3 (04:47):
All right? Where were at? Yeah, let's do that. Okay.
So Tyree's Halliburton, rob g little news of the day, can.

Speaker 6 (04:55):
You, Yeah, Tyree Haliburton bounce back in a big way?

Speaker 2 (04:59):
Game three.

Speaker 6 (04:59):
We even he said to himself coming off of game
two when they lost, He's like, hey man, I've been
really bad in the first half of both of these games.

Speaker 3 (05:06):
Now. Game one was saved because he had that game
winning jumper and.

Speaker 4 (05:09):
Then when you win the game, are like that, that's
all that mattered. I don't care what you did earlier.

Speaker 6 (05:14):
But he was very upfront like, hey man, I gotta
I gotta play better because we can't win. Apparently can't.
But he said it's not sustainable to win games the
way that we want a game one, and apparently they
keep doing it. Anyways, but one of the big talking
points heading into game three was, hey, Tyre's Halliburton, you're
the best player on the team. You're the engine that
drives his car. We need you to be more aggressive
for Indiana. And after the game, after they wanted game

(05:37):
three and he had his best game of the series,
Tyre's Halliburton took aim at the talking heads who wanted
to see more out of them.

Speaker 7 (05:43):
Thikolas, the commentary is always going to be what it is.
You know most of the time, the talking heads on
the major platforms, I couldn't care less, honestly, Like, what
do they really know about basketball? Commentary is what it
is At this point, you know, it doesn't matter. You know,
we're here finals, two wins from an NBA championship, So
me and just gotta stay with it, put my head down,

(06:03):
keep working, and as a group, we just gotta keep
learning from our mistakes, see where you can get better
and take it a day at a time.

Speaker 3 (06:10):
You know, that's my guy. I like Tyre's Halliburton, but
I'm gonna tell you something good.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
Yeah, cause you know this is unfortunately one time we're
about to degree that is called deflection. You ever had
a moment where you actually knew there's something you need
to do better, but you want to blow everybody's always
asking me to tell me. Now, what you do you
talk about the host in their cars?

Speaker 3 (06:32):
Yeah? You know what I'm saying. Oh I'm sorry, go ahead, rob.

Speaker 2 (06:38):
I love how you turning to look at me.

Speaker 3 (06:39):
I was what I said.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
That said, Oh, rob G, what the helly is what
I'm saying right now? What the helly is he talking about?
Let's break this? Let's break this down number one? He
himself has said, Oh man, I gotta be more aggressive.
He himself.

Speaker 3 (06:54):
I said it.

Speaker 2 (06:55):
Let's go back even further because I did a little research,
rob G. You know what his trainer, who was said
to him before he would agree to train him. He said,
tonight we said hey. He and his managers, hey man,
we really love love you to train Tyreez. He said, well, tonight,
I need you to take nineteen field goal attempts. Specifically
said that they're like, whyd why that does very specific?

(07:16):
He said, because I need you to be more aggressive.
This has been the thing for him. I would understand
if he's random talking, hands were making up stuff. He
needs you to twenty threes, he needs to have eleven steals,
he needs to have fifteen rebounds. It has been known
that because you're such a team player, such a great passer,

(07:37):
such a let me feel the game out, and I
applaud his usage rate is so low for how prolific
he is. But there are times when he needs to
be more aggressive. His trainer said it, he said it before,
I've been saying it throughout the postseason, so to me,
he knows it. He's just more upset to me that
he didn't do it earlier and finally did it in
Game three. So I think he was really mad at

(07:58):
himself and turn happy that he got the job done
and finally did it. And it was almost one of
those eight mile remember an eight mile what he did
let me talk about I'm from trailer trash and my
mom ain't this and let me let me get ahead
of everything. I'm gonna make fun of myself, bring Obama
flaws so then you can't. So I think this was
him trying to jump ahead of it. They're all gonna
say I was more aggressive to night so that you
know he can jump in front of that thing and

(08:19):
say I already know what you're gonna say, like a
like uh B Rabbit did in eight mile.

Speaker 4 (08:24):
Aka eminem, this is my issue and if I was
at the PRENS conference, I would do it.

Speaker 3 (08:30):
Excuse me, who are you talking about? Who is it?

Speaker 4 (08:34):
Who is the talking heads who don't know anything about basketball?
You're talking about Charles Barkley, talking about Kenny Smith? Are
you talking about Steven at Who are you talking about? Okay,
but but my point would be who guys who covered
the NBA for thirty five years or whatever? Like when
people were praising you, did you also think that talking

(08:55):
heads knew anything about basketball? It's so ridiculous, so lame,
and these guys they just throw anything out because they
don't want to be criticized.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
That's where we are.

Speaker 4 (09:05):
It's it's first when you know it was like, hey,
you guys never played whatever? Then I always go to
these guys. I said the same thing over and over.
Can you show me the film of Bill Belichick in
the NFL? I'll wait, can you show me that? Oh
he didn't play in the league, but he's considered one
of the great guys. Okay, there getting it in a
ball pop on the NBA? When did he play? Can
you can you show me that tape? What what team

(09:27):
did he play for?

Speaker 5 (09:28):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (09:28):
He didn't play in the NBA? Okay, so he didn't
know anything about basketball, correct, because that's what you said.
If you don't play, it's not possible that you know
anything about it because you're not out there. Then when
you know, Uh, but Charles, because Charles was the one
that they all hated first because he was critical. They
all hate Charles and players m VP all this went

(09:51):
to the fire. So he don't know anything about basketball.
Like stop, just say that you your your your paper
thin with your feelings. Everybody's a big baby. Nobody wants
to be criticized. This whole notion that you lump everybody
together and nobody knows what they're talking about is the
most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Again, these guys, I

(10:12):
admire him as a player, but when guys say stuff
like this, I lose a lot of respect for him,
I'm gonna tell you, because the whole notion that you
could just lump everybody together and just say the talk
the talking heads who it's a stronger argument if you
want to go and do that and undress somebody.

Speaker 3 (10:31):
I'm dead serious.

Speaker 4 (10:32):
So and so today said on the ESPN first take,
blah blah blah.

Speaker 3 (10:37):
No, that's not we have not run that defense. We
don't do that. But I'm listening. I am listening.

Speaker 4 (10:43):
Okay, if you can make that case, make that argument,
but to just lump everybody together, and god forbid, you know,
can can a reporter in Washington, DC cover the White
House because they were never president?

Speaker 2 (10:56):
There's a minithing talk about business writer, you Knowrepreneur magazine,
this journal. They didn't have to run a business. I'm
a writer about business. Just doesn't make any sense.

Speaker 4 (11:06):
It's illogical, it's dumb, it's stupid. And every time I
hear it, I cringe because there's no reason for that,
because you don't do it. When when you do something
great and you make a shot and everybody's going crazy
about you, tell me.

Speaker 2 (11:22):
That most people have been singing his praises all postseason
long about the fact that he was the most overrated.
He's kind of superseded that, and I think giving him credit,
giving him credit. Wow, you and I raise our hand.
What do we say our apologies? We ain't even talk
about the Pacers, the other bigger storylines in the East.

(11:42):
And so my, my and my thing is too dude,
of all the things to be critical a whout in
saying all the talking heads it's something that is your
thing being aggressive?

Speaker 4 (11:54):
That's oh my god, is that the worst thing in
the world.

Speaker 2 (11:58):
With every player you name, the sport is going to
have a thing or two that they just have to
work on. Right, And if it's Shack, the most dominant
player in the last forty fifty years, But what was
Shack's issue? Free throws? So if all of a sudden
we were critical as free throws, he made a you
know what I'm saying, I already know he's talking hands on,
Say you know about me shooting free Yeah, that's your

(12:19):
itch issue, that's your achilles hell. Guys have it. There
were times Kobe Bryant with four shots and we knew
that Lebron James sometimes we wanted to be more aggressive
as well, go ahead and close the thing out, go
crazy like you did in the other There are certain
things to me that you can't act as though. It's
asinine being brought up and aggression for him is one
of those. If we all of a sudden said I

(12:40):
don't like Tarbyz Hellerberd not shooting twenty threes. Okay, that's
not his game, So that's being ridiculous. But him being
a little more certive a little more aggressive. His team
needs it, dude. When he has twenty points and ten
assist they're like, what is it twenty and fifteen and
one or something crazy?

Speaker 4 (12:55):
Right, it's just obvious stuff. It's not even like rocket
signed stuff. And that's the part that is ridiculous, that
they're so bent out of shape or the whole notion.
That's the end of the world, you know what I
mean For just saying.

Speaker 3 (13:08):
Being more aggressive is all the thing.

Speaker 2 (13:09):
I mean, it could have been with a personal attacker,
just being a more and more aggressive, same thing your
trainer told you before he would bring you on a board.
So there's a lot more to me that it could
have been worked like that would give him issues than that,
all right?

Speaker 4 (13:20):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven, seven
nine nine six sixty three sixty nine. Did you have
a problem with Tyrese Halliburton taking shots at the media
after game three? Or are you? Are you with them
while you're in lockstep? We'll continue that conversation next with you.
It is the odd couple on the TV theme song Thursday,

Speaker 2 (14:12):
This is the Yeah? What what was it? Air Wolf?

Speaker 5 (14:14):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (14:15):
I know, I remember that. I was gonna say, hello,
got the wolf? Somebody was wolfing? Can we get Manty?
Can you get on a mic real quick? And she
just no, don't worry about it. Don't worry about it, Manti,
don't worry about it. I just wanted to hear her
say air wolf. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, air wolf. How
does a Manti say? Rob g air wolf?

Speaker 3 (14:35):
Wolf?

Speaker 2 (14:36):
Now he throws off when she says timber wolves, timberwolves, timberwolves.

Speaker 3 (14:41):
I truly don't hear it. I will say timberwolves, timberwolves.

Speaker 2 (14:46):
I don't hear it, timberwolves, timberwolves say air wolves. Oh,
you're not giving the v is what it is? You're
going it's like a you're missing timberwolves.

Speaker 8 (14:57):
But you got it right, you know what I'm talking about.

Speaker 3 (14:58):
So we're good. Yeah, it's change. I'm just like, I
don't hear it. Rob to get slashed. He already been
through a lot. I know they break your other windows.

Speaker 4 (15:10):
I need to know what's going on, bro, No, somebody
from the update staff broke by window.

Speaker 2 (15:14):
I just want you to know that. All I know
is I needed what's going on? You need a couple
of bucks to get if it was what's.

Speaker 3 (15:21):
Up tomorrow morning? Eight am? All right?

Speaker 2 (15:24):
I wait for the window to come in and had
nothing to do with That's what you get when you
get the fancy cars.

Speaker 3 (15:28):
You can't just go around the town. Window broke your window?

Speaker 8 (15:32):
This really happened.

Speaker 3 (15:32):
Yeah, somebody from this radio.

Speaker 2 (15:35):
She's trying to fake it, like you know.

Speaker 3 (15:37):
I would take full credit.

Speaker 2 (15:38):
No, I'm looking that much.

Speaker 5 (15:39):
I would take.

Speaker 2 (15:40):
But they didn't really commit, rob They went to the
back like the most small, little triangular one.

Speaker 3 (15:44):
It was like they ain't commit.

Speaker 2 (15:46):
No, what did you upset?

Speaker 4 (15:47):
And so all you know is that I see them
in the in the update booth laughing at each other.

Speaker 2 (15:55):
Well, why is there an issue? What's going on here
with the class eight seven up in ninety nine?

Speaker 3 (16:00):
Old Fox? We got calls and I got a quick
question before we get to the calls.

Speaker 6 (16:03):
Do you think when people see you driving down Sunset
six foot four, black dude and a three hundred thousand
dollars car with the back stop with the back window
broken out. That someone's like typical, Monty, your whole throat
came out from laughing.

Speaker 2 (16:17):
Hold on what y'all trying to say? Black and Brown
is supposed to be united right now?

Speaker 3 (16:21):
And look at y'all.

Speaker 2 (16:22):
We're looking out for you. We're supposed to be out here,
Marsha with y'all. Unbelievable. ROBG, we out here standing on business.
Why could they put my window out? That's somebody who
does Who's round here?

Speaker 3 (16:34):
Rob G?

Speaker 2 (16:35):
Window out? Rob Parker, get our picket signs were getting
out of here. We ain't marshal no more, Rogie, don't
be laughing back a help no more. Everywhere I go,
I'm seeing black and Brown hearts emojis united now and
now you want to break us up? Jerome in Charleston,
I said Joe Rome in a watch Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (16:58):
What's up, Jerome?

Speaker 9 (17:00):
That's one of my favorite characters, by the way, But
nobody on Fox pick the paces, take some truth simum
and tell the truth. Nobody before the two we're not
talking about you don't talk with me. Nobody kicked the
pacers all the time.

Speaker 2 (17:18):
Rob no, Jerome. Why would I, who likes to be
right over Rob, say that Rob picked the pages of Rob.

Speaker 9 (17:27):
Rob, Rob who picks it? Rob who pinkes Man?

Speaker 2 (17:30):
It is in the lead corner. Jerome, you have you
had me all. You need to stop.

Speaker 3 (17:38):
Okay, seriously, you need to stop.

Speaker 2 (17:42):
Listening.

Speaker 9 (17:43):
Who I was running, who I was winning? That's who's
band writing you. Rob. I know who you are, Rob,
I know you listened to you for.

Speaker 2 (17:52):
Got the wrong station. Okay, j figured it out. Was
that Manzi You're acquitted other people in updates. You're acquitted
Jerome Bust. Your window is Jerome, Jerome Bust. Your winn
came from Charleston to Bus. I said, I can't standing
no more. You always going with the the over underdog,

(18:13):
I mean the overtea that the obvious teams. He called
you a Laker fan, he called you a Dodger fan,
Man a North Carolina fan.

Speaker 3 (18:22):
Those are the big teams.

Speaker 4 (18:23):
I think he was listening and listening to Chris back then,
because Chris was the always pick the favorites. Rob g
am I right or wrong? Like, I don't want to
admit that you picked the Pacers in six.

Speaker 2 (18:34):
That doesn't do me anybody.

Speaker 5 (18:35):
I know.

Speaker 2 (18:35):
I'm saying, why would he think I would be the one.

Speaker 3 (18:37):
Saying my picking the favorites all the time. No, I'm not. No,
there's a method to your madness. We know about it.

Speaker 9 (18:42):
I do.

Speaker 2 (18:43):
There is a Metha to ma. We ain't gonna call
you out, Robb. We know the Mathea method to the madness.
We were just saying, you didn't pick the papers. You'm
mad because I'm right more times than I'm wrong. Alex,
Now I'm the team, rob G. You better not jump
right in that. You know that Alex knows he's here
listen to the show all the time. He does not
listen to listen to the show. Yeah, they don't listen.

Speaker 3 (19:05):
To the show. Alex knows what's going on.

Speaker 4 (19:08):
He knows that I picked the commanders right, and it
wasn't anti Lions.

Speaker 2 (19:12):
It was just that I thought they were gonna win.
Rob The best part about this, Robgie keeps facts and
he keeps receipts. He picked against the Lions was eleven
out of twelve times. I did not eleven out of
twelve times.

Speaker 3 (19:25):
And then he was right. The last time I told you, I.

Speaker 2 (19:27):
Told you, Elijah, Elijah, You're gonna be my next trash
talking Tuesday. If you get this man another he was
right because you don't give him when he was wrong,
and you don't give it when I was right.

Speaker 3 (19:37):
Well, do you call Elijah no, you have a relationships.
I'm used to being right. Okay.

Speaker 2 (19:41):
I don't need to be dancing around here in these streets.

Speaker 3 (19:44):
Okay. All I know is Oblijah when things happen, you know,
Elijah lucky like this is food for the radio show.

Speaker 2 (19:50):
Let's get it out there.

Speaker 4 (19:51):
Let's try to we try to do social We're not
so tired from working two jobs.

Speaker 2 (19:56):
Alex, you you have you used up your whole true
a lot man.

Speaker 3 (20:02):
Thing about Rob to know Yankees. Yes, please, he'll always
pick up. That's true.

Speaker 6 (20:07):
I ain't gonna say you boy, he looks so good now.
He's growing up so fast. By the way, can we
get that clip with me when I said Indiana, hey.

Speaker 2 (20:15):
In six I know it's two am right now when
you sleep and you just want to sleep with your
your wife and your kids and everything.

Speaker 3 (20:20):
But can you do that for me real quick?

Speaker 9 (20:21):
Please?

Speaker 3 (20:22):
Elijah deleted the screenshot of your your wife, please please?
You still got mine in there. I deleted it why
you never looked me in my eyes?

Speaker 2 (20:31):
When you says, yeah, you never looked me in my eyes,
and you said, I don't believe I delete and Alex.

Speaker 4 (20:39):
The greatest thing last night was after everything went down,
Alex called me up and said, hey, do you need
the Windyana song?

Speaker 3 (20:45):
And I'm like, Alex, that's a great idea.

Speaker 2 (20:48):
I don't even know who you are right now. Alex
used to be a man of the people. Now you're
just there. Ain't nowhere that happened. Look at him shaking
his head.

Speaker 3 (20:56):
Ain't nowhere, Alex Curtill.

Speaker 2 (20:58):
Alex can't even ring because it's so tight up.

Speaker 3 (21:01):
Maybe I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (21:02):
You never know what I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (21:04):
I can't even believe you.

Speaker 2 (21:05):
Just the moment to start in my mind with you
the time, I don't even Okay, what tod this like?

Speaker 3 (21:10):
One? Two, three? Okay, you hang up? Now, you hang up? Now,
you hang up? Oh I love you.

Speaker 2 (21:14):

Speaker 9 (21:49):

Speaker 3 (21:49):
What's up? Guys? Thanks trying me on?

Speaker 9 (21:50):
Hell?

Speaker 3 (21:51):
The problem?

Speaker 4 (21:51):
And if I was programming the station and you had
your Chris Plank, you know it would be the show
would be called something like here, but I would write
the commercial.

Speaker 3 (22:02):
Walk the sports Plank every day from four to seven.
How's with you?

Speaker 10 (22:06):
Let's get bad right game on, baby, make it happen right.
You're the man, You've got the power, man you got
you can make it out of that man. I'm just saying,
but anyway, let's do this. I picked the Pacers in
six I'm feeling good about it. Where were you on
the Pacers? How surprised are you, Chris that they're where
they are? Which is right now in control of the

(22:26):
NBA Finals.

Speaker 3 (22:27):
I was so confident Rob I had the thunder in three.

Speaker 9 (22:30):
There you go.

Speaker 3 (22:32):
I just you and Rob g both right, yeah, yeah,
I saw.

Speaker 10 (22:35):
I saw the video of the Manse put out, and
Rob had him right where I did, and right where
I kind of felt like they were. I it's it's
wild because I felt like last night's game was the
first time where you saw a team that wore down
Oklahoma City. You know, the Minnesota beat down in Game
three was wild when you look back at it considering

(22:56):
what happened in Game.

Speaker 2 (22:57):
Four, But I still don't know. Indiana played all that
great last night and they just wore down Oklahoma City.

Speaker 10 (23:05):
And you saw a couple of times. I felt last
night Rob where for the first time. And I've covered
this team as more of a fan, right, I'm not
best passing, and I'm not going there and listening to
the pro postgame press conferences because those are boring as hell.
But I will say this the first time where I
thought they panicked a little bit. Think about the chat
possession where Miles Turner blocked his three, then he was

(23:26):
like ah, so yo, and then he got blocked again,
and then you have the one on five that SGA
tried to do and it's just I don't know, guys.
It was concerning. Now, this team has had some concerning
games and they bounced back. Game three against Denver was concerning,
Game three against Minnesota was concerning. We'll see if they're
able to kind of muster up that on the road,
because that's a pretty special.

Speaker 3 (23:45):
Environment they got going in Indy.

Speaker 2 (23:47):
Well, when you look at it, the bounce back has
been the name of the game for both teams.

Speaker 3 (23:51):
Chris.

Speaker 2 (23:51):
I mean the Indiana Pacers after the win last night,
are now five and oh after a loss in this postseason,
and then the Thunder are now five and oh after loss.
Try to make it six and oh. If they can
bounce back on this time, well, we'll see. I think
they got this one if they can win this one.
So with the Thunder, what are you seeing defensively that
they can do or was done differently when it comes

(24:12):
to the Pacers, because I do think what makes the
Pacers so unique is their best player. We've talked about it.
His usage rate, Tyres Haliburt is so low that you
can't just say we got to shut him down and
will win because you got Siakam. You got Matther who
showed up and had a game high and a career high,
and then you got you can be Turner. They got
so many guys that can put up twenty What is

(24:33):
the game plan that they need to switch up going
in a game.

Speaker 10 (24:35):
For Yeah, maybe I'm crazy here, and I know that
with the way the Pacers play, I don't know if
you can play both Chet Holm Grin and by the way,
Chet's gotta be better start to finish. But I don't
know if you can play Chet and Hartenstein at the
same time. But I thought Isaiah Hartenstein was pretty good
when he was in there. You know, he had four

(24:57):
points and three boards, but he only played eighteen minutes.
So I don't know if there is a matchup that
Mark Dagnault sees that he doesn't like, you know, game
It's interesting because after the Thunder lost Game three to Denver,
we saw the other Jalen Williams. I think the Nuggets
played by play. I called him Jalen the reserve. You
saw him play a little bit more and use a
few of his fouls and maybe get a little bit

(25:18):
more physical in there. I can't help but wonder if
that might be something you see. But I just you know,
Cason Wallace probably shouldn't be starting anymore. Late in the game,
I just felt like Alex Caruso was an absolute liability,
especially on inbound passes. I mean, I pull up the
box score here real quick. He was minus fifteen. Oh
he was mind that's very Uncarusove. That's Uncruso.

Speaker 9 (25:39):
Like.

Speaker 3 (25:39):
So, I just I feel like Oklahoma City needs to
get back to who they are. And well, I thought.

Speaker 10 (25:45):
Indiana just did a really good job of and I
think Charles Barkley said this of just getting to the paint,
not just settling with those long jumpers. And then when
they had him, they were hitting him. So I don't
know how much of it of a massive change they need.
You know, Aaron Wiggins was a star in game two
and he was a smooth oz for two. In game three,

(26:06):
Isaiah Joe hit a couple of shots off the bench,
but they were like, I hit two shots, get out
of here, dude. So I just I don't know if
there is a magic fix, except just you gotta be
more physical down low. And maybe Hartenstein's that guy, because Robert,
I don't know how you feel, Kevin, I don't know,
you feel I've come away really impressed with Miles Turner,
and maybe I just haven't watched enough for the Pacers
this year.

Speaker 3 (26:27):
I think it too wows me.

Speaker 2 (26:28):
Yeah, you mean he's been on the trade He's been
how many rob g how many times had Miles Turner
been a Laker?

Speaker 3 (26:32):
Six times?

Speaker 2 (26:33):
They put him on a trading block every three months.

Speaker 4 (26:37):
But let me get here with the I know the
commissioner doesn't want to talk about it and about the
ratings and the small markets.

Speaker 3 (26:44):
It's hard.

Speaker 4 (26:46):
It's when you when somebody says it's the lowest rated
since they started recording it that back in nineteen eighty eight,
it's hard to act like that's not a story, and
the act as if.

Speaker 3 (26:57):
Being a small market.

Speaker 4 (26:59):
I know people don't think of the NBA's regional, but
a lot of the big markets bowed out once the
Lakers got knocked out, Once the Knicks got knocked out,
you know what I mean, once the Celtics and the Warriors,
where fans are like, I'm not watching that, you know,
I'm mad that my team didn't get there. Are you
surprised they're that low, especially with a guy like Shay

(27:19):
And then Halliburton at least has been exciting that somebody might.

Speaker 3 (27:22):
Want amazing postseason run. Yeah, it has been so.

Speaker 10 (27:26):
In addition to my Sunday Night show with Arnie Robb,
I picked up the Friday night show, The Overnight Show,
and I opened, like last week and saying, I don't
have an offense for this. I don't know what to say.
I love watching the Thunder. I wasn't a big I
grew up Lakers fan. I'm still a Lakers fan, but
I didn't really care too much for the first iteration
of Oklahoma City. They were cocky, they were arrogant, they
were two. Russell Westbrook still has a very active rolling

(27:49):
Okay scene. He was kind of the unicorn in that.
But this, this new version, right, and this is where
my biases come in. This new version is incredibly likable,
like SGA. Likable like SGA. I don't know, you know
what I'm saying. How can you not like him?

Speaker 9 (28:05):
Right?

Speaker 2 (28:05):
I agree with you, foul Merchant stuff is fair, but
I mean it's not like yeah no, no, no, I
like him.

Speaker 3 (28:11):
I like it.

Speaker 10 (28:12):
So my thought is, you know, everyone complained about san
Antonio and they just kept winning.

Speaker 9 (28:17):
Right.

Speaker 10 (28:18):
Oh, the ratings sucked, but Tim Duncan and managing Obi
and Tony Parker did their thing. I'm old enough to
remember whenever Golden State first won on its run every
even though it was you know, Oakland and San Francisco
in the Bay Area, Everyone's like, oh, no, one wants
to watch Golden State. So my hope is that this
in this run for ok see, it's a one time
thing and people start realizing, damn, this is a likable team.
Look how goof of the r are their postgame interviews

(28:39):
and chet Holmgren's such a unique story if he's going
to be be around. But honestly, I don't have an
offense because I kind of have blinders on right, because
I totally get why you might look at it and say,
ok Clama City, Indiana, I ain't watching that. So I
don't know what my defense is except to say I
feel like everybody's tweeting about it. I feel like everyone
that I follow is is on social media as all

(29:00):
about it. I am in Oklahoma. So it's just it's
one of those things that I, honestly, I can't believe
I have to say this. It's bad sports radioing if
you will, But I don't have an offense except to say,
I guess I get it. I completely understand. I just
think if you watch these two teams play, I think
you're entertained. I think you're gonna have fun. I've called
it this way for me. This is the way I
explain to Chris. Let's say you like some type of
pure rock or pure hip hop where some people just

(29:23):
want Drake. You know, I want a little Drake, and
then this is more than j Cole of it all.
You got to be really inside hip hop to understand this.
This is this telip quality, and that's what happened.

Speaker 2 (29:32):
If you're really really into basketball and you love really
good competitive from the two best teams since January first,
then this is your basketball finals.

Speaker 3 (29:41):
Right.

Speaker 2 (29:41):
You're getting some high quality on both ends of the floor.
But if you're just like, yo, hey, I like hoops.
I like Steph what he does, shoots a lot threes.
Say I know Lebron, he's been in the league for
forty two years, then you're used to that. This ain't that,
and I think that's what you're getting. You're getting very
inside basketball. If we talk about inside baseball right now,
experience right in these NBA finals. We're not getting the casuals,

(30:01):
not at all. We're not pulling the casual. Here for
the cellar, here for Steph, they're here for Lebron, they're
here for k.

Speaker 4 (30:08):
They hear like if the Knicks would have made it,
that the Knicks hadn't made the finals in twenty five years,
that was peg way interest.

Speaker 2 (30:15):
Exactly the way MSG is. You're gonna watch that for
all the stars there. Sure it's a whole different bag.
So what it changing picks? You're still going for it.
You had to what the thunder and three three? Yeah,
here's I am legitimately concerned. And I hadn't really been
in that level before. I just I kind of felt
like Indiana had a CounterPunch. And a lot of times

(30:36):
this postseason and guys, I know, well we're up against it,
so I'll keep it brief. But a lot of times
Oklahoma City has this run and you saw it against Denver,
you saw it against Minnesota, help up, and you saw
it against Memphis where next thing you know, it's it's
a close game.

Speaker 10 (30:49):
You're like, damn, they're up fifteen R what just happened?
And you blink and they had a run. Kind of
like that last night, and Indy had an answer, and
even in the game to win, Indie, he was right
there until kind of late they tapped out, are like, okay,
let's go home. So I'm a little bit more concerned
just because of how physical and how how physical Indie
got picking up a shave from from baseline to baseline.

Speaker 3 (31:11):
And then it's the first time I saw Oklahoma City panic.

Speaker 10 (31:14):
So if they can win on Friday night, I feel
really good about OKAC still winning the series. If they
go down three to one, that's gonna be a wild
atmosphere in Oklahoma City when they come back home. But
it's gonna be really really hard to overcome. And imagine
after being I guess rated is the most overrated player
and pulled is the most overrated player. If Tyres goes
out and wins a title, Oh come on, that's a

(31:36):
great story. I'm going to finals MVP. I mean it
would be Yeah, A thirty for thirty is gonna go crazy.
All right, thank you so much, Chris Chris Blanks show.
We appreciate See all right, Hey, we got shop Talk

Alex is this saying elsewhere? What is this la Law?
La Law? Yeah? For a long time, I thought it
was a front show called La Law.

Speaker 2 (32:21):
I didn't realize it, you know, I noticed, right why
Blair Underwood, It don't look like Blair Underway. I'm just saying, hi, ma'am,
your little son here looks like Blair Underwood. I was
about nine years old. I didn't know know Blair Underwood was.

Speaker 3 (32:36):
Come on now on tonight's episode, and then I've.

Speaker 2 (32:38):
Been hearing in my whole life ever since, Rob Don't hate,
Don't hate Rob.

Speaker 4 (32:43):
Yeah, And they've been saying, I know, like Denzel Washington too,
you do a little bit, all right, just a little.

Speaker 3 (32:48):
Bit maybe maybe uh JJ WALKSJ say it. At least
you can admit it was so mean.

Speaker 4 (32:57):
When I was in eighth grade, I was tall any
you know what I mean, and they and they used
to call me instead of Robert, which was my full name.

Speaker 3 (33:07):
They used to they used to call me Robot because
that's funny. That actually could it could have been a
lot funny. I think kids are so created.

Speaker 2 (33:19):
It could have been worse, though, you know what I
mean they could that one, all right, that's kind of fun,
but that's what they called me. We were polar and
that was so tall, like you know what I mean,
like Robot. If we were friends back then, we would
have been polar opposites. Dude, I was four eleven in
high school. I still could rob g. You can relate,
can't you. Dann Oh, I don't mean it like that
racist racist's monty, She says, she's four eleven about that?

Speaker 3 (33:42):
You know about that? I was four eleven in high school.

Speaker 8 (33:45):
Dude, I think I'm five feet yeah for eleven, think
I'm five feet right there.

Speaker 2 (33:50):
I was four eleven and I had to nerve the
one to try to talk to the like senior girls,
and they would be like, what's up, kid? You know
I ain't went through puberty. Yeah, they look at me
a little boy. If you go somewhere, she was like
one of the kids from junior high school doing Oh
it must be finding out what high school you're gonna
go to next year?

Speaker 3 (34:07):
Day? Wait lefto hour?

Speaker 2 (34:08):
They said no, no, we don't want any boy.

Speaker 3 (34:11):
Scout cook.

Speaker 2 (34:11):
They used to pick me up and put there on
the hip like a little toddler. Hey, okay, when you
get a little older.

Speaker 4 (34:18):
So when you were crying yourself to sleep every night,
when you dreaming that that you would be taller, and.

Speaker 2 (34:23):
Then dude, I just kept growing, like two inches two inches,
three inches two.

Speaker 3 (34:27):
Like, it just kept you know. I didn't do the like.

Speaker 2 (34:28):
And then next summer I was eight inches taller. It
was just boom, boom boom. And then I passed robb Gi.
At some point I went from five. I went from
five to ten to six one between seventh and eighth grade.
So when I came back to eighth grade, I was
six one. Yes, weighed one hundred pounds, you know what
I mean. And everybody's like wow, they could not play

(34:49):
eighth grade. I was a good four eight. I grew
out of all of my clothes. I had to get
all new clothes, all of them. Yeah, all right, it's
time out for shop talk. What was that shot talk about?
It ain't nothing above it. That's all you talking about. Whoever, whatever,
whatever you want to in a box, So why you
not wait? Shop talk, that's right?

Speaker 6 (35:10):
Is shop talk here on the odd couple saying where
we talk about something happen outside of the world of sports.
This week's topic comes to us from the great State
of Tennessee. So bank Rate put out some studies last
week that said that sixty four percent of Americans have
a negative view of tipping nowadays. The Tennesseean responded to
that study and put out a list of ten scenarios

(35:34):
about tipping, how much you should tip, when each you tip,
so on and so forth. It went viral because number
two on their list was called the counter offensive, which
means if you call in in order to pick up
food at Starbucks, at your local diner, whatever, and you're
just walking in, grabbing it to go and leaving zero
percent tip is recommended, and people got upset about it

(35:55):
because it's a very split issue in America. Guys, number
one has tipping culture jump the shark, and number two
do you agree with Tennessee and that if you're just
picking up.

Speaker 3 (36:05):
It to go order, no tip necessary.

Speaker 4 (36:08):
I'm gonna jump in and I totally agree with the
no tip and no situations. If someone's helping me, I'm
always gonna leave a tip or whatever. But you have
I'm coming and picking it up and walking out.

Speaker 2 (36:20):
Same thing.

Speaker 4 (36:20):
You go to a like a restaurant or something to
get a fast food order, not like at a McDonald
but somewhere like a local place or and the same
thing that oh day, you know, you go around and
then I was like, twenty percent tip, and I'll give
you the worst one that some of these places do
with hotels and whatnot.

Speaker 2 (36:38):
You go to a bar.

Speaker 4 (36:39):
When I go to a bar, I might give a
dollar or two per drink. Okay, I'll get two drinks.
I might leave you two bucks a dollar a drink.
Every time I get a drink. They'll turn that thing
around and want you to put twenty percent tip on
a drink at a hotel bar.

Speaker 2 (36:55):
The swivel change the game because it used to be
up to the customer's discretion, right or it would be like,
you know, we have that dialogue and I just felt
like I want to leave you a buck or two,
right you. I just felt the vibe. Okay, leave you
five dollars whatever it is. Now the swivel boy just
turn around in your face starting on twenty percent. Now
it's one off, like we're having a battle here because

(37:16):
I'm looking kind of offended and you're looking kind of
sometimes not your fault, hey man, what do you want
from me? And it makes it awkward. So they've done
a great job of putting the pressure on you, making
people feel awkward that are tipping that normally would you
don't feel it's gone too far. Allowed me to tip
when I feel like it just deserved either you, Manti Alex. Yeah,
I'm with Rob and both of you guys.

Speaker 3 (37:35):
Actually, like a drink, it's one dollar.

Speaker 8 (37:36):
Two dollars is generous, it is, that's but it should
be one dollar if you get food.

Speaker 2 (37:40):
That's a different conversation.

Speaker 3 (37:41):
But with just a drink drink, and they were twenty
percent off of a drink.

Speaker 8 (37:45):
I'm with you and like I tip, but like if
I order, like hypothetically speaking from cheesecake factory take out,
I'm probably not gonna tip.

Speaker 2 (37:52):
But am I am I going to a mom and
pop shop, maybe I'm gonna tip.

Speaker 8 (37:56):
I just pick up, like you know what I'm saying,
Like just a couple of dollars, like not twenty percent,
but maybe like five bucks if it's like a mom
and pop shop.

Speaker 3 (38:03):
Ye, so you tip in twenty percent across people? No, okay,
so you should if you go sit somewhere and eat, Yes,
they serve me.

Speaker 8 (38:10):
Well, yes, I'm just making sure that we're on the
same page.

Speaker 2 (38:13):
Leff.

Speaker 3 (38:13):
I just show up and don't play the brakes and
just don't want to have Rob Parker gast him up
for all his great stuff he does. Am I gonna
get paid for the day?

Speaker 9 (38:19):
No?

Speaker 5 (38:19):
So why do I?

Speaker 3 (38:20):
Why are they gonna sit down and be like you
give should give me fifteen even if I'm busy, no
help me service, and then I'll give you some tips.

Speaker 2 (38:25):
Yeah, it's gotten crazy the expectations and tips, for sure,
But I'm like you mind, I do tip, especially if
I see some young person working hard, I will tip.

Speaker 3 (38:32):
Yeah, like a dollars. I've become moreker. Two tip is simple,
don't bet on the races.

Speaker 2 (38:37):
That's what I tell them.

Speaker 3 (38:38):
I thought it was gonna be. Don't bet on the lions.
