coming up. Adam Kaplan, We got a busy busy our
number two and Rob g As we know, the Dodgers
are playing the final game of the day.

Speaker 4 (02:00):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
We've already seen the Tigers win two on earned runs,
which is crazy for Cleveland to arned runs. Uh, they lose.
The Padres lose in Chicago three to one to the Cubs.
Yankees winning one nothing, but the Red Sox got second
and third with only one out, only one out. Max

(02:23):
Freed came out after six and the third innings and
Luke Weaver has a walk and a double sort of
Red Sox are in business here. Could take the lead
on a hit. Uh, and then of course we got
the Dodgers and the Reds that's coming up the final
game of the night.

Speaker 4 (02:40):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
Starting at what was that six pm Pacific time nine
pm Eastern? Rob g uh just talk about the Dodgers
for a set.

Speaker 5 (02:49):
Yeah, like we you set the table and then I
want you to do it. It's just kind of I
want you to do even more, even more. You didn't
put the silverware where we needed. By the way, Robert
is broken again because the Yankees just gave up a
go ahead double there single. It's two to one, two
to one, and we all know Aaron Judge aint gonna
come through in the clutch.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
Oh shot.

Speaker 5 (03:11):
By no, we talk about the Dodgers, LP bro ducking
right now, the defending champion Dodgers taking on the Reds
who just snuck into the postseason. So by all accounts,
this should be a walkthrough series by anybody who covers
the league or who sets the odds. They're saying, hey,
Dodgers should roll in a ROMP. Not only do they
have the reigning MVP and soon to be back to
back MVP and a time top of the lineup, they

(03:33):
got postseason performers up and down that roster. There's any
concern with the Dodgers, it's with the bullpen, right But
entering this postseason. Blake, Snell, Yamamoto, and Otani have collective
eras in the on September of two point two five
zero point sixty seven, zero point zero zero. And if

(03:56):
you're worried about the bullpen, don't worry about it, because
they're bringing starters Tyler Glass now, Rookie Sasaki and m
it she In in there. So by all accounts, you're
looking at the fully formed Avengers Dodgers ready to defend
their World Series championship, and for whatever reason, people are saying, hey,
if they don't get it done, this season is a bust,

(04:18):
even though we all know that baseball is a crapshoot
in the playoffs. And I seem to think that you
guys agree with the naysayers.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
I do think that the Dodgers, on paper, right, it
has been an uneven season. We've talked about it. On paper,
they're still the best team. They spend what a billion
dollars in the offseason, and I'm obviously being facetious, uh
but barely, But to get my point, they spent a
lot of money. On paper, people thought this was going
to break the twenty five year right, It's been twenty

(04:49):
five years, right, since the Yankees won back to back
and that the Dodgers would have the team to be
able to do it. They win the World Series last year,
but they've been you know, issues going forward. All you
got to do is get it together for the next
three weeks, three and a half weeks, and you could
win a championship if players play the way that they're

(05:12):
capable of playing. And that's a big if, you know,
because all year there's been some issues in the Dodgers
of made moves, as Rob g just chronicled, you know,
with putting other people in the bullpen, because the bullpen
was basically a gas can. It was so bad. But
I will say this, if anybody was supposed to repeat,

(05:35):
it's this Dodger team, and if they don't win the
World it will be a failure. This was a team
coming in and I think you would agree with me
that people thought had every chance to win again.

Speaker 6 (05:47):
Fair Yeah, I mean people actually some people thought it
wasn't fair because you already are World Series shams.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
Then you go and get a blakes now right then.

Speaker 6 (05:56):
You already you know, you're bringing back some guys who've
helped you before your second year into some other guys
who come on the team, and people were looked at
this as remember we were literally talking is it fair?

Speaker 2 (06:06):
Who do we have? We had the Yankees talking about it.
I don't like this. It's not fair what the Dodgers
are doing.

Speaker 6 (06:13):
So yeah, a lot of people have been complaining from owners, GMS,
and let alone fans across the conversation. Are the Dodgers
now the new evil Empire? So I believe I'm with
you that the expectations were world Series title or bus
and I believe currently as we sit here less than
an hour away from first pitch, it's still World Series
or bus.

Speaker 2 (06:33):
Yeah. Absolutely, Like what when you have gone won your.

Speaker 6 (06:37):
Division twelve out of thirteen years, you've been to what
three four World Series over the last six seven eight years?

Speaker 2 (06:44):
You won a couple of them.

Speaker 6 (06:45):
I mean you got I believe, the best player in
baseball and you got some of the best pitchers. Like,
this is exactly where you're supposed to be. There's no
shock when we say the Kansas City Chiefs believe they're
supposed to win championship.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
They built themselves up to be.

Speaker 6 (07:01):
Uh. There's no doubt that the Warriors when they were
on their run, they thought We're supposed to win championships.

Speaker 2 (07:06):
This is what this is what we do.

Speaker 6 (07:08):
When Tiger Woods was rolling, I'm winning majors, Serena Williams, Yeah,
I'll better win a major. I'm not coming here to
win a few matches. And so that's where the Dodgers
have put themselves in a position where to win a
world card, a wild card series and then go home.
It's unacceptable. Just to sneak into the postseason unacceptable. And
that's where they are now. They're at the point where

(07:29):
just winning a division doesn't count. Just being happy to
be in the postseason doesn't count. It's all about can
we run off? Can we do some Yankee type stuff?

Speaker 1 (07:36):
The Lady Night with Derek Jeter and that team when
they won three three out of four, you know what
I mean, And they put together a dynasty. They were
a dynasty. I always say it's either three in a
row or three out of four, kind of put you
in that and you look at the Dodgers roster and
the players they have, and you said, dude, they got
the makings of this. If anybody's going to be able

(07:57):
to come back and win another championship, the Dodgers and
I think them more than any other team, not even
the Yankees.

Speaker 6 (08:03):
Remember, Uh, people forget uh that they lost their race.

Speaker 1 (08:09):
Yeah, Karret Cole.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
And he's still about game five and last.

Speaker 1 (08:13):
Year, you know, right, and it didn't cover first base
Aaron Judge dropped the ball and uh and center field
that they could have easily forced a game six and
then the Dodgers rout of pitching. We talk about all
the time now that could have been something that's happened there. Yeah,
it was a big play, But the Dodgers are in
a class by themselves. And I do believe that, I
do believe that that not winning will be a disappointment

(08:36):
all the way around, and people will say, what happened?
What went wrong? Why was this team? You know, Mookie
struggled for four months, was just a shell of himself.
Has bounced back, you know with that amazing September. Yeah,
like like so, so that's a good sign. And and
uh old Toani had you know, big numbers, not the
numbers that he had a year ago. We had one

(08:59):
hundred and third the RBIs and he batted over three hundred.
Oh Tony batted two eighty four or five or something
like that. Still had fifty five home runs. It's a
great season, and he's gonna win the National League, uh,
MVP and all that. But anything less than that, I
think the Dodgers or the team that will look back
and go like, we blew an opportunity. Why weren't we

(09:21):
good enough? And uh and they have almost not have
to win, but.

Speaker 6 (09:26):
They need to No, no, no, they have to win because
that's what they that's what they've built themselves. If you
couldn't get certain players right, ah, we tried to get
so and so we could. Oh we were in the
old time, So they got everybody right, A man, Blake
Snell will be a great addition to our staff, but
all we missed them.

Speaker 2 (09:40):
You're getting the players.

Speaker 6 (09:42):
You still have some young guys to match with the veterans,
and then you got guys still just debt smack in
the middle of their prime. You have an amazing home
field advantage, Like there's you can go down the line
of reasons why you know, you'd feel good about situations
for the doll Like, man, if we if we can
get series in LA, we're good. We got obviously a
manager who's been here at this point for such a
long time, like all the things are in favor, and

(10:04):
robg alluded to something the last month their starters started
getting healthy and started wieling and Dylan you got o'tiny going,
oh he's gonna go about an inning, he's gonna go
two inn's, he's gonna go three and e he won't
go before wait a minute, he went five. Okay, win
six in's. You started to see the build up. Blake
Snell comes back, Glass now comes back. I mean sure,
you even had Kershaw out there willing and Dylan, who

(10:25):
didn't even make the roster. That's how confident you feel,
said Kurse. We'll get back to you a little bit
later on. So yeah, they're built to win this year,
despite it all, despite having some ups and downs and
ebbs and flows throughout the season. So absolutely they'll be
disappointed if they don't win. And to your point earlier,
you and I've talked about this, somebody's got to repeat,
and I'm sure they're looking at themselves in the mirror

(10:46):
saying why not us?

Speaker 1 (10:48):
If anybody, it should be because of what they've able
to do, their resources where they are, they have a
ownership that's aggressive. We're trying to win now talking about
they're not sitting back. They could have easily won and said, hey,
we won good before we got to and we got
two in the last year, right exactly. And this one

(11:09):
wasn't in.

Speaker 6 (11:09):
A COVID year, right, this was a legit full season
and we beat the Yankees, and and we should be
good and we should be happy.

Speaker 1 (11:18):
I mean, they could be, but they didn't do that.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
I agree, I agree, I think and they know that.

Speaker 6 (11:23):
And everybody, Kicky Hernandez comes back, God, Blake Snell, all
these guys who sign on. You know what you're getting into, Like,
you're not coming here, like you said, just to have
some fun, compete, maybe win eighty games. So you're coming
here knowing the expectations are world series, not just expectation
to make the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (11:40):
It's world series. Nice player everboy, Judge, did he drop it? No?

Speaker 1 (11:43):
He caught it? Okay, it wasn't a fifth.

Speaker 6 (11:47):
Boys having game five, fifth in and they can't even
bring you let them out, get ready to say no.

Speaker 5 (11:52):
You know, swing it on a YouTube saw them for
the radio audience. Judge makes a nice catch, right, So
as Calvin is talking, Rob immediately turned look at him
like you saw that catch, right, And then he tries
to play it off.

Speaker 2 (12:02):
Like did he I won't call him.

Speaker 6 (12:05):
I was gonna stall him out. He act like he
didn't see it. What did he caro, you got.

Speaker 2 (12:09):
Two New York Yankee TVs on here?

Speaker 1 (12:11):
No, no, no, the cameras in the way. I couldn't
see the ball.

Speaker 2 (12:14):
Okay, did he catch it? You go? Good Willy?

Speaker 1 (12:16):
That was just Cody. Yeah, sorry, no, it was just
you know what, you guys killed me?

Speaker 2 (12:21):
You really do that?

Speaker 6 (12:22):
Which, by the way, yeah, you got these hats and
frond what I mean? What what am I promote? Hold on,
look at these? Make sure all right?

Speaker 5 (12:28):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (12:28):
Eight seven seven No, no, no trash talk. Sorry, it's
a trash talking day, that's right. Uh, that's right, coming up. Uh,
we're gonna get into trash talk. We got some more
stuff to do though.

Speaker 2 (12:37):
Yep.

Speaker 6 (12:37):
On the way, man, we got uh we gotta have

you what aces do. Will tell you who it was

The Harlem Globetrotter is one hundred year tour. Come be

with history is made. The Harlem Globe Chrotters one hundred
year Tour get your tickets Today at Harlem Globetrotters dot com,
Rod we talked about it man baseball. Starting today, we're
ald wild Card series. We had a couple of good
games early. We got one going on tight one right

(14:16):
now with the Yankees and the Red Sox. Then we
got one coming up a little bit later Dodgers and
Red so We had two teams earlier and the Tigers
and the Guardians who have been going completely separate ways.
Guardians have been the best based team in baseball for
a couple of weeks. The Tigers have been the worst.
You and I came on every day like are they
even gonna make the postseason? And ultimately they did, and

(14:38):
they ended up getting a great, great game from their ace.
When you talk about what Scooba was able to do,
it was reminded me. Me and you have talked about
old school baseball. You've been covering the league since win
nineteen eighty six, nineteen eighty six, and one of the
things I always talk about is, you know, we're such
an analytical age where they already have everything mapped out.

(15:01):
You know you're gonna go four, then you're gonna come
in for five to six and you're gonna come in
six and they have it all mapped out. And I
don't know if this is what exactly the Tigers had
or if they just had a gut feeling. I don't know,
but Scooper was able to go seven and two thirds.
And this is what I loved about the performance from him.
Seven and two thirds set us a personal record with

(15:21):
fourteen strikeouts.

Speaker 2 (15:22):
Fourteen strikeouts in a big game.

Speaker 6 (15:24):
They only this is a series of three best of
three one hundred and seven pitches, which I was shocked.
That's his career highs like that. Thought it'd be a
little higher than that. But you know, this is modern
day bas.

Speaker 1 (15:32):
Right, right. They're not trying to burn people.

Speaker 2 (15:34):
Out one hundred and seven pitches.

Speaker 1 (15:36):
It ain't like Nolan Ryan two hundred and thirty five
pictures in a game. That's seriously, that's just correct. Like
if you look go look that up and and he
made his next.

Speaker 6 (15:44):
Start, Yeah, y'all win him out in five days, see y'all, en.
But I also loved the abot him. He was still
throwing one hundred plus late into that game. But I
just thought it was awesome to see him compete. I
thought it was awesome to see the Tigers again put
him on the mind and keep him out there and
let him go straight to the closer. Gus who got
caught in a jam Ramirez got the third was able
to get out of them, tag him out and uh

(16:06):
and ultimately win the game. But I just loved what
we saw for them able to just say, let keep
the kid going, Robgie. When I were talking Robberie, throw
after seven, they were all right, cool, they'll pull him
out now, you know after the sixth, I mean, and
you know, get him out. That's kind of what baseball does.
And they said no. When he got seven to two
thirds man and he looked great. And they needed it too,
because we mentioned outside of a couple of games they

(16:26):
won towards the end there they have been floundering and
they needed to wait, to wait to find a winning
They need to stack them up if you can.

Speaker 1 (16:33):
But that win to me, like other than school, I
don't trust. Like the rest of what the Tigers is,
I'm not. I don't have an argument. And my thing
was they have to win that game because if they don't,
I just think it's, oh, it's really really hard. You know,
you're only gonna pitch. He's only gonna it's a three
game series, only gets to pitch one, so you kind

(16:54):
of got to win the game that he's pitching because
you're baking on that.

Speaker 8 (16:57):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (16:58):
And even though they got two on earn runs like
they that's how they because of misplays by Cleveland, but
still he was the one who was able to stop
uh Cleveland and they only had a run. Uh, And
then it looked like the Tiger's bullpen was going to
give it up man on third with nobody out in
the bottom of the night, strikeout, comeback or to the

(17:19):
mound and uh where they where they got to run
a caught up between third and home, tagged out Ramiras
and then they get a fly ball with a run
on first to win the game. So yeah, no, this
is what those moments come where you have and you're
looking for your age to come in and do that
for you. And all these games this time of year

(17:40):
are close, you know, Like you look at the scores
the Padres three to one, two to one, Red Sox
over Yankees, Like this is postseason baseball where you have
the best pitching going. It's not like people always say, like,
well what happened to the offense. You know, like what
happened to the offense and the play well, because the
best pitchers are and it's just totally different every pitch. Yes,

(18:04):
it's totally there. And it doesn't mean that there's never
any offensive explosions in the playoffs, yes, but you see
some of the best pitching and bats seem to shrink.

Speaker 6 (18:12):
Yeah, I mean the pressures on right This isn't just
Game eighty three, some random game in May or June
or July. I mean, is this all the pressures on
every pitch matter? You were talking about it off the air?
You can't walk, guys, I mean every you know, you're
nervous on those catches in the out and you know
if you're in the infield or the outfield. So yeah,
all it changes the game for sure. But I just

(18:32):
thought that was awesome to see an ace be allowed
to be an ace. Rob My gosh, a game where
we only saw two pitchers from a team. Can you
imagine that? Right in the twenty twenties, what in the
nineteen eighty six? Without looking at right there, I thought
it was awesome to see that. But if yeah, if
you're the Tigers, you gotta take full advantage of that.
You gotta take full advantage of It's a mental thing.
And you've been covering sports long enough to know. I

(18:53):
set up here, We've talked to athletes. It's a mental thing.
If the Tigers have to erase everything that led up
to it to the postseason, right yeah.

Speaker 1 (19:01):
But once you get in and worry about how awful
the finish was, because it was bad, I mean, like
they on merit, they shouldn't have made the playoffs, as
bad as it was to give up a fifteen and
a half. Could remember Cleveland won. The reason the three
games are in Cleveland is because they won the division.

Speaker 6 (19:21):
Just crazy when you think and a half lead to
lose that. But that's why, I mean, you got to
mentally check out and just say, you know what, clean slate.
We're all in and none of us really know. We've
talked about the time. That's the thing about baseball.

Speaker 2 (19:35):
Big big market team, small market, mid size team. We
don't know. You don't know who's gonna win. I don't know.
Is it the Yankees, is it the Dodgers who are
fibor is it the Mariner?

Speaker 1 (19:45):
And this really unless we said we think it's we
think it's a crap shoot. I think it's wide open. Uh,
Dodgers on paper should win. But but the way that
the year win their number all year right. But the Brewers,
to me, they might peak too early. They won, they
went twenty nine and four. Baseball is a way of
correcting that sometimes. Okay, Rob g what do you got

(20:08):
on YouTube?

Speaker 5 (20:08):
Just real quick before we get to Steve's award winning update.
I gotta feed the odd mob because they're coming in
hot and heavy as usual.

Speaker 2 (20:14):
Number one.

Speaker 5 (20:15):
This comes from Dwight Brown Junior says, I hit the
blizzy at lunch. Then I hear Robin Calvin argue every
day all love. Mike Woodson says, Rob got some money
in his CuPy on fire today and this is.

Speaker 1 (20:29):
All I'm always on fire. What they always say, Rob's drunk.
I'm not just drunk. I don't drink on the air.
He drinks before the show.

Speaker 5 (20:36):
And then Adam Castro tweets in or excuse me YouTube
comments in. Rob got his pom poms out for Aaron
Judge like Raymond has for Lebron all the time.

Speaker 1 (20:44):
Oh my, we'd love to see it. Thank you. Well,
you know what, I'm not gonna sit here and lie
to you. And you notice Rob g five years ago
when I put him on my top all time top
five best sluggers of all time, people said too premature
or you know what I mean, because he was getting
hurt a lot back then, and they thought I was crazy.

(21:04):
And I told you the reason I did it was
real simple. When the Yankees made that Judge's Chamber for him,
they've never singled out that's the Yankees one. They never
had anything for Derek Jeter played there for twenty years,
won five championships, right yep, never had anything for him.

Speaker 2 (21:22):
I almost feel like that's more of an indictment. Why
you ain't doing that for Jeter?

Speaker 1 (21:25):
Well, but that's what I'm saying. That's all I heard.
I told you where Aaron judges?

Speaker 6 (21:28):
So championships don't matter. Now you want, oh, we want
to Matt An average three? Feld say, and I just
tell you about him.

Speaker 2 (21:33):
That's all right.

Speaker 6 (21:34):
On the way we have Adam Kaplan will talk some
NFL headlines with him right now. Steven Sager is gonna
give us what's trending? Come on, where where's the Jeter
in section?

Speaker 2 (21:42):
Yeah, he doesn't have a good nickname.

Speaker 1 (21:44):
I know that's part of it.

Speaker 2 (21:45):
It's all marketing. You know, you were talking to come
up with something. By the time you're done, I'm gonna
come up with something.

Speaker 3 (21:49):

Speaker 6 (22:35):
Adam Kaplan is our guest Fox Sports Radio NFL Insider
Kaplin NFL on ex Adam, what's up man, how are
you guys?

Speaker 4 (22:43):
Unwell? One of these days I'm gonna join you for
trash Talking Tuesday.

Speaker 8 (22:47):
One of these days.

Speaker 2 (22:48):
Well, we got to do a stick around the next segment.

Speaker 1 (22:51):
There you go a little trash talking Tuesday. We love it, Adam.
I was talking trash about Aaron Glenn and his start
with the chef. That's if he loses to the Cowboys,
he will.

Speaker 6 (23:04):
Be and five the first Jets coach to go oh
and five to start, uh, you know with that franchise.

Speaker 1 (23:10):
And last night they look bad. Thirteen penalties just they
really were they just Miami's a bad team and the
Jets look worse.

Speaker 4 (23:20):
Yeah, I honestly I thought they'd be more competitive. Rob,
to be honest with you talking are pretty plugged in
team source. Glenn came in and he wanted to change
around the culture because you know, he played there and
he knew if that certain things had to change, and
he got some things done. I'm tall inside the building
the way they would change some things up. But they're

(23:42):
a really bad football team. Again, not not nearly as
good as I thought, just as Field. Look, he missed
a little time, he had a concussion. He had some
good things last night. But now we gotta understand he's
got it what we call turnaround program. You got you
got to give it time. We I get it. Look,
they're they're bad, the NFL's worst teams. But rob, if

(24:02):
you if you've looked at that team historically for decades,
they've been so bad for so long, them being bad
is not a surprise. But you've got to give it
some time.

Speaker 1 (24:11):
I get it. But but to think as bad as
they've been, they've never been zero to five. And last
night against Miami, I'm a Miami scuffling that that's what
got me sent off is that they didn't compete, you
know what I mean? I know the score looked better
than it really was. And and I think that's the part.
And you know, in the NFL now, it's just nobody

(24:31):
has a five year plan anymore. Like that's just not
that's just not where we are. You gotta get things,
not not.

Speaker 6 (24:38):
Wouldn't make the playoffs your first year, but compete, not
commit thirteen turnovers.

Speaker 1 (24:43):
That's it. Let's move on.

Speaker 6 (24:45):
Ye give them ten eight weeks something Dagga's only for.
They could have been two and two, Adam, they get
a black and all that.

Speaker 2 (24:52):
The Steeler.

Speaker 6 (24:53):
They have't be seen here two and two. We'd be saying, Wow,
I didn't think they would be two and two. Okay, Adam,
I want to go to a team. Are we gonna
look up, Rob and I will be up in the
Bay Area covering radio week. I'm sure you'll be there.
And will it be the Chiefs representing the AFC again?
Are we heading towards us as they get healthier? Were
she Riyce getting off suspension in a matter a couple
of weeks worthy look good? I mean, are we kidding

(25:14):
ourselves with Ravens or the Bills or the Chargers?

Speaker 2 (25:17):
Are we going to be right back there again with
the Chiefs?

Speaker 4 (25:20):
You know, it's interesting, Kelvin, when you look at the Chiefs,
you know you met your RACI Ray stop being there.
I could tell you Tykwon Thornton, who's come out of
nowhere as a former secon around receiver for the Patriots.
I saw him in their training camp. He was too thin,
he never did a thing. It was a total miss
by Bill Belichick. But he has been a breath of

(25:41):
pressure and they've needed it. He's really helped them. And
how about Travis Kelce is getting a snaps produced because
they're kind of giving him some load management, which is wild. Yeah, look,
their defense is healthy. The Chargers had a tough loss
where they didn't play particularly well and they look lose
it to the Giants, and that certainly was was disappointing.

(26:04):
But yeah, the Chiefs. Listen, guys, have the Chiefs lost
this game? Bye? By going back thirty five years, the
Chiefs would have had a less than two percent chance
to make the playoffs, but it was kind of like
a must win and they should and and you look
at the Chiefs this week, this is the game the
Clues should win. Uh. With the Chargers losing, they could
still win that division. There's no question about it.

Speaker 1 (26:26):
Let me let me ask you about surprise and starts.
The Steelers three and one, and the biggest thing to me, Adam,
is they haven't won a game at home yet. That's
pretty that's a pretty going good start. I know one
game was neutral, but still they're three and one.

Speaker 4 (26:43):
Yeah, I was. It's funny. I've talked to someone there today.
What they felt was Rogers and Metcalf and and the
other pass targets are not on the same page. This
is their best game. He got Metcalf on that crosser
for the touchdown.

Speaker 3 (26:58):
That was a night.

Speaker 1 (26:59):
That was beautiful stride.

Speaker 4 (27:01):
Yeah, and Rogers is healthy, by the way, now the
guy spoke to say, hey, listen, he may not move
quite like he used to. His arm strength is still good.
Moves around just enough. They think rob this is the
best offensive line they've probably had in ten years. They
got the right tackle Potato back their first round of
last year. He didn't play. Now they got a little
bit of an issue at running BA. Kenny Gamwell did

(27:22):
a great job last week, but they gotta get Jaalen
Warren back from from his injury. They're they're still, as
I'm told, they're still looking for another receiver. They're in
the receiver market. So that's something when we get closer
to October's late uh late October's deadline, that's something they're
probably gonna look to get done. Now. They got it
into Jalen Ramsey's got a hamster injury, which is concerning.

(27:43):
They got they gotta get him healthy. But they're playing well. Look,
you know what's crazy guys. They're in an odd way.
They're sort of in the driver's seat. The Ravens are
two games back, the Bengals are not good. The Cleveland's terrible. Yeah,
I I I'll admit it. I picked Balmore all the way.
I'm not even close right now. I'm I'm a little surprised, Rob,

(28:05):
you brought up a good one. I did not see
the Steelers being three ones despight.

Speaker 1 (28:09):
I no, it's it's it's really incredible, like because a
lot of people were down on them, Kelvin didn't think
they would what you say, nine and eight, Yeah, I
think that. I think they have a chance to win
ten or eleven.

Speaker 2 (28:20):
I still feel confident about that. Nine and eight.

Speaker 1 (28:21):
Yeah, I'm not there. I want to get to uh
go ahead.

Speaker 6 (28:26):
Well, I was going to ask you, uh, we look
at the NFC and Eagles are four and oh they're
kind of a weird maybe the weirdest fourign oh team
rated super Bowl.

Speaker 4 (28:35):
Cha.

Speaker 6 (28:35):
I don't know what to make of them, So you
can you can say what you Maybe they're the answer
to this question because.

Speaker 1 (28:39):
They won eighteen in a row.

Speaker 6 (28:40):
They have are the they the best team in the NFC?
Steal is it the Lions. Is it the Packers even
though they're two and two. Who's the best team in
the Is it the Rams who probably felt like we
should have beaten the Eagles?

Speaker 2 (28:52):
Stands for them. Hi to Kenba Matambo to block our
field goals? God blessed it.

Speaker 4 (28:57):
Yeah. Yeah, and it's interesting Calvin, Oh, my training camp
tour that this rarely happens. Like when I talk to
personality for our coaches, particularly personal people like you know,
I'll go, hey, who do you think is the team
we're not talking about? And one of the personnel got
this book was said, you know what, it's so wide
open this year. I don't think any there are any

(29:18):
dominant teams. And honestly, for four weeks like you could
Buffalo Buffalo and they're only two under fifty teams Billy
and Buffalo. I the other team is very great. Yeah,
like Buffalo's defense, they've had an easy schedule. Their defense
has got issues with past rush and secondary Billy, Calvin,
You're absolutely right. They have no identity. They can't run

(29:39):
the ball, they don't throw the ball well consistantly. Their
offensive line, which has been the best for a decade,
is not playing well. But their defense is kind of
carrying them. Hertz Is Burch has had an an even
four games. It's wide open. To be honest with you,
I think it's still wide over. But Washington's feed up physically,
and the Niners are beat up because you know, Detroit

(30:01):
after a bad week one, their offense is playing lights out.
Now I have a problem with Troit's pass rush. I
want to see Detroit when they play a tougher schedule.
They still got to play the Eagles, they got to
play the Vikings again. They have some, they have some
green Bay of course, where they lost to in Week one,
but they've been on an unbelievable role and now John Morton,

(30:22):
they're off the coordinator in my reporting I remember and
when he got fired in seventeen the player did not
believe in a system. But he is running a version
of Benchot the system. I'm told he's dialing it up.
He's doing a great job. I'll give it a got credit.

Speaker 2 (30:37):
Yeah, they look they look good obviously.

Speaker 1 (30:39):
How about Green Bay? That's why I want to get
to uh oh yeah, how bad of how bad of
a loss was that it was a tie, But how
bad was that that they couldn't take care of the Cowboys.

Speaker 4 (30:55):
It's embarrassing. It's absolutely embarrassing a team that they should
absolutely smoke. The Cowboys defense is almost to the non
competitive state. Now green Bay had they had a couple
of receivers out, but they had no trouble scoring. But
the problematic issue for that football team is their secondary.
They're not very good at corner. I knew this before
the season started. No ceedee, Lamban Dallas had no problem.

(31:18):
Dack by the way, you wouldn't notice by the record
one too and one and he won't get if he
continues to play this let we still't get MVD consideration.
He's playing great. Is defense is terrible and Green Bay's
got a secondary problem at corner. They are well below
average at corner and it's not going to get any better.
And Matt Parsons has been fined since the trade. But

(31:40):
they have a problem corner. So Rob, you bring them up.
I'll admit it. I picked green Bay. I picked Green
Bay in the midt of August to win the division.
I'm not backing off of it, but I'm very disappointed
what I've seen from them the last two week.

Speaker 1 (31:54):
Don't do it, don't get on that line. Appreciate it.

Speaker 6 (32:01):
Thank you, no doubt, all right, Adam Kaplan, thank you
as always man.

Speaker 2 (32:05):
All right.

(33:09):
Come on, or Orlando and l Passo. You're in the
couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (33:15):
Who you trashing, Orlando.

Speaker 9 (33:19):
Fashion the couples telecommunication system because it's been five weeks
and I can't get on on my favorite segment.

Speaker 8 (33:25):
No, I'm just kidding.

Speaker 2 (33:28):
I hope you know looked up.

Speaker 1 (33:33):
Yeah, yeah, hell, I hope, thank you. We appreciate that,
and I hope it's a little difficult to get on,
Otherwise it would mean nobody's listening.

Speaker 2 (33:41):
Radio station is easy.

Speaker 1 (33:44):
What you got?

Speaker 10 (33:45):
Oh, so I'm pressing. I'm trashing this current generation of
NBA players. Guys, every other league.

Speaker 9 (33:52):
Was football, even the college football players. They love Reggie
Bush because they I have heard them say personally, Reggie,
you know, we thought, you know you, they got your
heightsman taken away from you, all those things because of
the gifts you got.

Speaker 1 (34:06):
For and so be it.

Speaker 9 (34:07):
But they always appreciate the previous generation that did it.
I don't know what the deal is with Curry calling
out former generations. I don't know what the deal is
with they get ready with his former comments. I just
don't know why the NBA, specifically them, they always like
to put down the previous generation that came back for them.

Speaker 1 (34:24):
I don't understand that, you know, and we're on the
pages a fair point.

Speaker 2 (34:29):
Yeah, we've had some conversation about it. Who next.

Speaker 1 (34:32):
Uh, let's say, uh, JB in Redondo you're in the
I guess Redondo Beach, you're in the odd couple of
Fox Sports Radio? Who JB?

Speaker 8 (34:42):
Absolutely? How you guys doing for us? I was just
calling I got two takes, man.

Speaker 4 (34:46):
Uh.

Speaker 8 (34:47):
When you like the Raiders and you're a Raider saying man,
and you can find every way to lose in.

Speaker 4 (34:53):
The world, that's a trash take right there.

Speaker 8 (34:56):
I don't know how many different ways we can lose.
And secondly, my I can take is Rob Parker, how
do you have the nerve to be on the radio
when the first year coach gets his opportunity and you're
basically saying he should lose his job.

Speaker 4 (35:11):
When the Detroit coach started off the.

Speaker 8 (35:13):
Same way, oh Pha eight, but then turned the situation around.

Speaker 4 (35:18):
Rob Parker, Get off.

Speaker 8 (35:19):
The radio, Bro, look you off the radio.

Speaker 6 (35:22):
I wish I could get back at you, but I'm
gonna leave it. Get it tomorrow, Get it tomorrow, Get
it tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (35:27):
Hey, Neil in Atlanta, you're on the couple of Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (35:31):
Who you try to Kneil.

Speaker 10 (35:34):
O Sash in the New York Yet of the whole
organization is a.

Speaker 3 (35:38):
Mess, and I have to petition to move all Jets
games overseas to Europe, to UK, to Germany to Ireland.

Speaker 11 (35:48):
They gotta go.

Speaker 10 (35:49):
And the only good thing that came out of that
organization is Telly Savalis got his defensive kick back with
the forty nine.

Speaker 6 (35:58):
Rob right, what I do I gotta be telling? Was
about to beat up? Who was he about to fight?
I know about yeah from Jacksonville. Tim in Atlanta, Chili, Tim,
you're on the couple five Sports Radio?

Speaker 1 (36:11):
Who are you trashing?

Speaker 2 (36:12):
Chili?

Speaker 11 (36:14):
Rob him about to Pilotte on you man? I was
I was pretent to sit tonight till I heard your
take on Aaron Glenn. Look here, Rob, I mean Bill
wa wash Bill Barshsells all started like with two or
three wins at first year, and I'm not saying he's
gonna beat those guys, but I'm saying, you never know.
He could end up being Mike Dick, you know, like
the raw rock coaches like Mike Singletary with my forty

(36:37):
nine ers and you lose the locker room guys like
Bernie Davis and you get fired. Or he could be
a row rock guy like Nan Campbell and turn it around.
I mean he was handed, like chef Ramsy gives you
a box ingredients and you don't know and tell you
to make a gourmet mill out. I mean, give him
a couple of years, man, and like, at least get
through the draft, you know, lead out the players, see

(36:58):
who plays till the end of the year and keeps
playing hard. Come on, man, four games in, Come on,
Rod Parkers, all I heard was hate, hate.

Speaker 1 (37:08):
I can't I can't respond. I'll let it go real quick.
Bob and a couple of Fox Sports Radio. Who are
you trashing?

Speaker 3 (37:15):
Bob?

Speaker 4 (37:17):
Hey? Rob?

Speaker 10 (37:18):
I Hey, look, I'm from after Detroit. I got love
for you. I know you got you got love for
the city of Detroit. Sporty because they always clean me
up nice when they go down very nice. Hey, but
hey Rob, I gotta trash you today, man and your
take on the Lions. I'm sorry. Look, I'll just just
give me, just just hear me off for one second.
You know you always say when they went, oh they
haven't done anything special, or they haven't done anything special

(37:40):
the last two years, and I understand they haven't done
well in the playoffs as well as we would have loved.

Speaker 1 (37:44):
We had a time. We wish we couldn't.

Speaker 2 (37:46):
We're out of time. We are this is one time

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
