(00:54):
America's Team, the documentary all the headlines that have been
going on throughout the off season. It's gonna be a
Dallas Cowboys edition. So Robb GI's been cooking up some
stuff that'll be fun coming up. Then we'll do last

brand new channel again, just search Odd Couple FSR on

(01:36):
if I'm wrong. I think we think you weren't sitting here,
but I think you. We called you and Tuesday you
were high up on the forty nine ers. Yeah, okay,
was telling Robb G. I believe Ephim's big on the
forty nine ers. Well, made a trade for sky Moore
the receiver. Of course, that was what the Chiefs. Didn't
really do anything with the Chiefs and they didn't have

(01:57):
to give up much. It's a late pick in twenty
twenty seven, so essentially got him from nothing there because
they know the wide receiver is going through so much
that red room for them. You got Brandon Ayuk who
is still out. You got Robinson who is gonna have
to sit out the first three games of the season
due to suspension. Uh so they're going through it right

(02:17):
now and that receiving corps seriously, seriously, so they had
to get somebody and hope obviously they can they can
get something out of sky Moore this season. So with
that being said, I look at the forty nine ers
and more and more specific I look at brock Perdy
as somebody who now has finally got that.

Speaker 5 (02:38):
That sigh of relief. He's got the big money. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
he got paid.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
I believe he was worth it.

Speaker 4 (02:44):
I thought it would be around where, you know, Rob
Parker and I we Rob and I argued about it
for you know, a handful of weeks, as different topics
will come up. I thought he got a route right
where he should be because I think if he and
his agent come into the room and they look at
what he's been able to accomplish in comparison to the
guys that ahead of him, there's very few that could
say over the last four or five six years, five years,

(03:06):
I've done as much as he has, excluding a couple
of obvious ones. But the rest I know, he can
look eye to eye knows who knows and be like,
what why is he deserved fifty sixty? And I don't
what has he done, i'd have been to the Super Bowl,
been the NFC Championship. It was an MVP candidate a
couple of seasons ago. What has he done? So he
got the money and then you can understand maybe he
can if you're him, could argue it got a little

(03:26):
bit less, but more importantly, even with these injuries going
into this season, if Christian McCaffrey is healthy relatively say
even missus a couple because it's a long season with
Kittle and having that stability of you know who your
coach is, you know the way he runs the offense.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
You've been the guy running this.

Speaker 4 (03:47):
You know who the general managers, you know what the
ethos is a team is, you know how we operate.
Even with all these injuries, you got an All Pro
and Kittle, you got an All Pro in Christian McCaffrey.
Some gonna say the best receist a running back, someone
say second or third, depending know how you want to
go with Henry and Saquan And to me, I view
it as you're at the point where there's no excuses.

(04:08):
You're at the point where the good to great or
the really good to great quarterbacks can still find a way.
We're watching the commercial right now, who do we just
see Patrick Mahomes. Now I know he ain't Patrick Mahomes.
Hear me out, Patrick Mahomes. Entire receiving corps depleted, and
he still found ways to win. And the best number
to me coming from Patrick Mahomes was what he was

(04:30):
doing on third down. Even he was the number one
quarterback on converting third downs at about fifty three percent
of the time. And ultimately I might not make this pass,
that pass to that drive and that, but when he
needed to make a third down to move the sticks,
he got it. When he needed to make the play
to ice the game, even if we only win by three,
he was able to do that. He's been able to do.

(04:51):
We talk about Tom Brady. Tom Brady, I got great receivers,
I got mid receivers, I got eight receivers.

Speaker 1 (04:56):
He was still able to show up.

Speaker 4 (04:58):
And you see that consistently with the guys who are good,
with the guys who are really good to great, they
find a way to win games. Maybe I gotta use
my legs a little bit more, maybe I gotta chip
it down a little bit more. Whatever it is, I'm
gonna help find a way to win this game. So
I look at Brod Perdy and this season for me
is last season was your your floor. We miss guys.

(05:19):
Guys are in there out they're in, they're out. Last
season was the floor. A couple have been in the ceiling,
you know, getting the Super Bowl and being an MVP
candidate a couple of season ago. If you can operate
even below the MVP but near that, we're in a
good place. Because it's my job as a general manager
to supply some defensive guys, to get the offensive line right,
to even make these types of trades like for Skylar

(05:41):
Moore and to see if we can see something, maybe
you make him better than we thought. Maybe he comes
up and gets fifty five sixty catches and we're like,
all right, we didn't see that coming. But to me,
there's not a lot of excuses for him to come
in and have some success because you have continuity, and
you know how huge that is when you're getting new
offensive coordinator, new coach, knew this, knew that every year,
like a lot of teams do. It's difficult for quarterbacks.

(06:05):
So I expect Brock Purdy to still come out half success.
I expect last season to be the floor. He better
be the much better version of that. And I don't
think there's time for a lot of excuses, because a
lot of teams go through this and their quarterbacks still
show up and make the most of the situation, still
find ways to win. Josh Allen whole receiver corp wasn't
what it was supposed to be. Stefan Diggs's best receiver
wasn't doing anything. Then he gets traded, and what does

(06:27):
he do. He goes all the way into the postseason
and all the way to an MVP. So to me,
brock Purty, you gotta find a way to still make
this season good, still find a way to try to
get in this postseason, and not use any of these
as excuses.

Speaker 5 (06:43):
If I were to say to you, if you're running
the team, hey, you have an opportunity to draft a quarterback.
And after three years he've thrown for ninety five hundred yards,
sixty four touchdowns, twenty seven interception and have a passing

(07:05):
rating of one oh four point nine and win seventy
percent of his games. Oh, by the way, you'll be
in an NFC championship game in the Super Bowl in
those three years. What would you say, sign me up,
and what round would you draft that guy? First round?
So with all that you just said, and for all

(07:26):
the doubters of Rock Purty and whether he's worth the
money or not, the reality of it is, those are
his numbers facts. Whatever team he's on, whoever he's throwing
the ball to, there's been some Hall of Fame players
on the team offensively and not have anybody throw them
the ball. So all I'm saying is, and I've had

(07:50):
this argument because I remember when he got the start
and he was five and oher and like the story,
the legend of that was his origin story, and I
was excited for him. And then he came back the
next year, he got hurt in the NFC Championship game,
came back and took him to the Super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (08:10):
What are we talking about here?

Speaker 5 (08:12):
If brock Perdy was a first round draft pick, everyone
in the organization would be celebrating. We got it right.
We got to pick right, because that's all you're doing.
All you're doing is measuring after three years, after that
body of work you throw from almost ten thousand yards

(08:37):
and oh, by the way, you didn't even start all
of the games your rookie year. You've only gone to
the Super Bowl in the NFC Championship two out of
the three years. You had an injury riddle season last year. Now,
all of a sudden, you're not a viable quarterback. You're
not a good quarter Oh, by the way, you played

(08:59):
for free. Yeah, so all of them, Well it's because
of Shanahan. Well it's because of this, Well, it's because
of that. You can that's what happens when good teams
draft players, and it's not when when when Ben Roethlisberger

(09:19):
went to Pittsburgh and became Ben Roethlisberger, they had a
number one defense, They had Jerome Bettis, they had receivers
all over the place. We didn't say, well, I mean,
look at all the stuff he has, no because he
was a first round draft pick, so we expected him

(09:41):
to do what he did. The fact that brock Purdy
came from absolutely nowhere and took the league by storm,
all of a sudden created this narrative where, oh, it's
because of this and all it's because of that. He
still has to be able to throw the ball down
the field.

Speaker 1 (10:02):
You know.

Speaker 5 (10:02):
The reason why he was in there and Jimmy Garoppolo
wasn't because he could actually throw the ball down the field.
He can attack you down the field, he can tack
you intermediate and underneath, all the stuff you would want
a quarterback to do. So I'm a I was always
I've always been a Rock Party fan, not just because
he was a seventh round draft pick like myself, but

(10:22):
because at a certain point that draft pick doesn't matter
when your opportunity comes.

Speaker 1 (10:29):
And that's what we talked about last hour, was shoulder.

Speaker 5 (10:32):
He was like, look, all that's over all I can
control is how I play when I get an opportunity.

Speaker 1 (10:37):
I don't know when. I don't know where.

Speaker 5 (10:39):
Brock Party didn't know when he was gonna play, where
he was gonna play, how long. But when he did,
he played himself into the contract he just got.

Speaker 4 (10:49):
And he has done a great job at that Rob
and I argue about that all the time because I
was on team. Why would I not pay the guy
who has been playing better than Let's look at the guys,
some of these guys who are gonna be making more
money than him, So right now, from he is at
the eighth highest paid quarterback, which sounds about right, yep,
Because some of them makes sense, one doesn't.

Speaker 1 (11:10):
Dak Prescott because you can.

Speaker 4 (11:11):
He can look in back and say why that dude,
All of them can looking back and say why is
he making sixty? Dak has had a nice career. He's
won a bunch of the regular season. He's put up
some numbers. But Jerry don't know what he's doing.

Speaker 1 (11:21):
Nothing to show for that.

Speaker 4 (11:23):
But the next guy, Joe Burrow, I mean, he's been
in Super Bowl, so have I. If you're brother, you
say that, and then he ain't made the postseason last
two might even beat three seasons if he doesn't make
it this year. But he's at fifty five, fifty five
for the next few guys, So John, Joe Burrow's at
fifty five, Josh Allen's at fifty five, Jordan Love at
fifty five.

Speaker 1 (11:41):
He I know, Jordan Love, I know he's looking at it.
I love you.

Speaker 4 (11:45):
But oh what love got to do? Got to do
with this? Because why is he making fifty five? Here's
a big one, Trevor Lawrence, Why is he making fifty five?
Two of them at fifty three? Jared Golf in fifty three.
That's about right to me. Not biased. I'm just saying
he's played as well. He's been to a Super go ahead, Okay,

(12:08):
Justin Herbert at fifty two and a half, that's a
that's a I get a little hey man gunslinger.

Speaker 1 (12:16):
Nobody has more yards since.

Speaker 5 (12:17):
He's been in a I know I need some wins though,
but again, if I'm rock party, but he has four
years of the worst.

Speaker 4 (12:23):
Coach on earth. Can't argue with you on that. And
then Lamar Jackson at fifty two, we are okay, So
what do we what do we know? So all of
those guys except for one, have something in common. Do
you know what that is? All of them have something
in common. Yes, they're all first round draft picks.

Speaker 5 (12:37):
Yeah, except for Dak Prescott the third, fourth third, I believe, Yeah,
they all have something in common. Right, they all first
round draft picks. All of this was expected. Some of
them have underperformed, right Trevor Lawrence, Yes, because he was

(12:58):
supposed to be the one underperformed. They've been telling me
he is Andrew Luk reincarnated. So what I'm telling you
is this is the last pick in the entire draft.
Mystery relevant had him. They gave him a car because
he wasn't gonna be able to afford one, and they
give him a parade and all he's done is take

(13:19):
a team to the Super Bowl and the NFC Championship Game,
and now we want to act like he doesn't deserve
to be paid.

Speaker 1 (13:27):
I never understood it.

Speaker 5 (13:28):
I sit here and robbed and I don't even know
we're watching the games, and yelled at Rob plenty of
times about that, because my thing is I have to
pay the position right, and I have to pay it.
It's going to get a lot of money, and he
has deserted and he's earned it. What am I gonna
do not pay him and go get somebody else?

Speaker 1 (13:44):
Who are you going to get? Who am I going
to get?

Speaker 4 (13:46):
That knows my system has performed well and it was
a large part of why they got to that Super
Bowl because the way he beat the lines using his legs.

Speaker 5 (13:54):
The ball saved the franchise from the scrutiny of giving
up all they gave up for Trey Lance. That completely.
That saved and that's why you pay the man. We
ain't talking about that. And we had a bus conversation
with Robb g. We were talking about who's the biggest
bus and I brought up Trey Lance and said, Trey

(14:14):
Lance so bad that nobody even talks about like.

Speaker 1 (14:17):
He just floating around man his money.

Speaker 4 (14:19):
So I yeah, But with all that being said, gending
back to the original conversation of them and not having guys,
I still this is why you're paid the money now,
because I believe if I'm the organization I'm saying, I
we believe that you can fill in the gap. Of course,
you can make some plays. They found their quarterback that
that aren't there. You can make. Maybe there's four games

(14:40):
we kind of we're in, but we can lose. You
win us three of them because.

Speaker 5 (14:45):
Three years them not wanting to pay Tom Brady because
he was a seventh round draft pick.

Speaker 4 (14:53):
Yeah, I'm big. I'm a big believer, and they had
to take care of him. They did take care of him,
and he's properly paid in the sense of he's a
That makes sense, right, he's right worried about he should
be in the league, even his placing and maybe where
the quarterback tiers are. So that makes a whole lot
of sense to me. But again for me, I'm looking
at his all right, man, I know we got some
depletion when it comes to a wide receiver room, but

(15:15):
I still have high expectations of you. Go find a
way to win some of these games even without.

Speaker 5 (15:21):
Yeah, it's look, man, it's just football. Can you step
in and do something with it?

Speaker 1 (15:27):
After? You want to see?

Speaker 4 (15:28):

Speaker 5 (17:07):
Is bring over there, come on, bring you better girl, break.

Speaker 1 (17:12):
The news and wait before she goes, why does she
have on?

Speaker 3 (17:16):
It?

Speaker 1 (17:16):
From you do TV? You create shows and movies and stuff.
Why does she have on?

Speaker 4 (17:20):
Like the when the main the protagonist in the movie
finds out, they gotta go, you know, on a spy
on alert and fight.

Speaker 1 (17:26):
You got that hat?

Speaker 4 (17:27):
Look like she's stealing that hat? Is like I'm going
out on the city hat. It's like, it doesn't say
anything that have a logo at a night.

Speaker 1 (17:34):
It's just a hat.

Speaker 7 (17:34):
It's a high ponytail.

Speaker 1 (17:36):
Luy, Yeah, it's.

Speaker 7 (17:38):
High pony tail.

Speaker 1 (17:39):
Hi pony. You're making me feel like such a bougie girl.

Speaker 5 (17:42):
But yeah, I know it's you went boogie. You could
have just laughed at the joke you had to get off.
It's liliu on me.

Speaker 7 (17:47):
No, I'm just saying, that's all right, go ahead.

Speaker 1 (17:48):
Commit the prime so we don't know what you go ahead.

Speaker 7 (17:50):
Okay, all the Jerry Jones stuff.

Speaker 2 (17:52):
Michael Parsons posted this thirty seven minutes ago, a juice
is emoji and an image that says, even if I fall,
I will.

Speaker 1 (18:00):
The Lord is my light and that is it.

Speaker 4 (18:04):
So I say sect it, okay, Ephraim, let me if
you don't mind the Lord. First of all, I love
the Lord. Of loving the Lord is wrong, I don't want.

Speaker 1 (18:12):
To be right. Let's start there.

Speaker 5 (18:13):
However, I'm so tired of the grown two hundred and
seventy five pound men tackling each other, my cheese mow strong,
dunking on people, throwing seventy yard passes, hitting three home
runs in the game, I'm so tired of the cryptic,

(18:36):
the passive, aggressive, the you should get what I meant.
But if you don't, then I guess you don't know
because if you it was the if you know that,
if you know you know, people put that at the end.

Speaker 1 (18:47):
I don't know what does that mean? Michael.

Speaker 5 (18:49):
I'm so tired of it. I'd rather you say I'm out.
I want to be I'm done with this.

Speaker 4 (18:54):
Some cigarette something, say peace I just got the official word.
I'm getting traded. Peace out, I'm gone pure. Put a
jet on it. Give me something. What did that do
for me other than frustrate me.

Speaker 5 (19:04):
It's a response to what Jerry said on the podcast.
Well at least Jerry said it with his chest. But
that's what I'm saying. Anytime Aside speaks out or says something,
then there's gonna be you should I knew a response
was coming.

Speaker 4 (19:22):
So I just I can't just I'm this is where
I know. And I've said this before talking to Rob
g I'm a hybrid and that I'm I think I'm
telling you this. Yeah, old enough to just we're from
the era were like, if you're gonna say it, say
it with your jets or if you're gonna say it,
or if you're not, you're not right. Everybody don't need
to know your business. You don't have to post everything.

(19:42):
Some things are better left unset. I'm from that era,
but I'm also young enough to get social media. I
understand its prevalence, I understand how it's necessity, I understand
its USA is just some great things about it, Like
I don't feel like I have to go to social
media to say everything. I don't feel I have to
go to social media to reply to everything. And if
I do, I'm deang sure not gonna put cryptic Lebron putting? Uh,

(20:06):
what's the what's the cartoon Stewart Arthur's fist?

Speaker 1 (20:11):
I don't know if that means Lebron? What does it mean?

Speaker 5 (20:14):
Like? It just drives me crazy, this weird passive aggressive
I'm gonna say with an emoji, I'm not gonna say it,
but I'm gonna say it.

Speaker 1 (20:22):
But I'm not. If you got it, you got it,
but if you didn't, you did it? Like, dude, what
are we doing here? If you know? You know? I
don't you know what? I don't. I don't want to know.
I don't I don't want to know. I don't want
to know anymore. I don't want to know. I used
to want to I don't want to know anymore. I
don't want to know.

Speaker 5 (20:40):
You know what I've been I've been playing around on
threads a little bit, thinking, oh, this is the counter
to X.

Speaker 1 (20:47):
Now I'm over it. It's just it's the new X. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (20:51):
I just don't spend a lot of time on social
media because uh, life is happening. Yeah, so I spent
a lot of time in reality dealing with like and look,
I don't want to disparage people who use social media
to create their reality, but mine was created prior to
social media, and I like that. I think that's why

(21:12):
you don't run to it all the time, because you
were able to start this journey without it. So a
lot of podcasters and a lot of people in media
now started media through social media, so it becomes part
of the thing, their lies, the struggle. Michael Parsons wasn't

(21:36):
alive prior to real social media like that, Like, he
grew up with social media. I mean, he's what twenty six's.
Facebook's probably been around twenty years, so he grew up.

Speaker 1 (21:46):
He grew up with it. So when he was conscious
and knew what it was.

Speaker 5 (21:51):
His mom was probably on MySpace or Facebook or something
like that, so that's all he's known. He doesn't know
a world without it. So it's hard for uh this
generation to even imagine a world without social media. And
I'm so for us it's easy because I'm like, I
didn't have it anyway, you know, to doing being. I
became successful without it. Now I can lend and add

(22:15):
to your success or you use it the right way.
But it becomes your sounding board. It becomes I have
this random thought that I would normally just keep to
myself or laugh about it in the room. It now
it goes out into the world. And because you know,
anything you put well, someone is gonna re you know,

(22:38):
respond to one way.

Speaker 1 (22:39):
Or the other, either way, right and yeah.

Speaker 4 (22:42):
And so this is the conversation I have with Rob
all the time because I tell him they cobles around
before telephones, electricity.

Speaker 1 (22:53):
I tell him, here, ye here, ye oh, come on,
come on for the town news. Did you just say
the pony Express? Stop it?

Speaker 4 (23:05):
I tell him all the time, dude, because he can't
fathom how important it is to them. How many times, Rob,
do you have me and Rob argued about that. I
tell him, he'll say that social media post shouldn't have
affected that player.

Speaker 1 (23:17):
I say, dude, they all they've ever known.

Speaker 4 (23:20):
That social media post from some writers shouldn't have got
the mat.

Speaker 1 (23:23):
That's all they've known.

he actually admits it.

Speaker 5 (23:47):
I'm all in and out. He just goes he ain't

you get caught Steph Curry reading his mentions.

Speaker 4 (23:54):
This is Steph Curry, who's kind of chilled, kind of
quiet to an extent, reading his mentions at halftime. So
it blows. I always have to remind Rob, we we're
just talking about dude. This is all they've known. And
it's like the game video game sims a lot of people,
not necessarily them because they're huge mega stars, but a
lot of people they feel the life they've created on

(24:15):
social is better than their real life cocause I can
be whoever I want to project on there. My relationship
is great. If it's really not, I can project it is.
I had a great day at work. I don't fear,
but no anxiety. There's no anxiety. I can go. They
get home and they can unwind and jump into that world, which,
unfortunately for.

Speaker 1 (24:33):
A lot of people, sometimes better than their real world.
Well that's a safe space. And that's what you know.

Speaker 5 (24:37):
Altered reality is you can create your own world and
be it's the whole show. Is still a show on
called Catfish about people who do that very thing, People
who don't feel like they are good enough to represent
themselves in the real world, so they create the illusion
of something that they respond to and resonate with.

Speaker 4 (24:56):

You know a lot of things are changing. The winds
are blowing. Ephraim is now my manager. There's so much
coming our way. Yes, the tribe has spoken, and I'm
just here to prove that you can do anything you
want and it is possible.

Speaker 4 (26:31):
I just want to be noted that I'm the one
who started this whole thing. Okay, there's one that's one
of that credit.

Speaker 1 (26:36):
I respect that.

Speaker 8 (26:36):

metaphysical space.

I'm not ready for that.

Speaker 8 (26:42):
Actually, that one I understood fast. All right, we got
that one. So in honor of Jerry Jones hijacking the
show today, all of these questions are Dallas Cowboys related.
