Let's get this. You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (00:32):
It is the Odd Couple Couver of Washington carry Roads
on the Trash Talking Tuesday. Thank you for the calls,
all of them, even the ones that I got some
smoke on. Buddy was mad. He was like, I'm mad
today your mom and your dad got together and then
they decided to do the grown up. Hey, he came,
he came about, he came for you next. But but
I do want them to be more a little bit
more like I don't mind, but can you be a

(00:52):
little more rebservant? He's not. I don't think anybody that
heated is observant. I'm just saying be a little more observing.
Like number one, you saying me and the robin clearly
you don't listen, and then you say I got a
spect dude. Now that one was worse than anything bru
light Ross. You could have said a lot and I'd
be like that one that was a gun on a lot.

(01:14):
All right, we got a lot to get you. Speaking

(01:38):
all right. So, uh, there's a piece. There's an article
that Dave mcmnimum mcminimum of ESPN did and it kind
of talks about Bronnie and where he is right now
and kind of what the expectations are going into uh
year two for him. And the title inside Bronnie's James
is year two development with the Lakers. And if you
read through a couple of things you just learned real quick.

(01:59):
You learn that obviously through Summer League, he said he's
not a fan of it, not so much to competition.
He loves the competition, but he doesn't like all the
Vegas stuff that goes on with it. He just kind
of wants to hoop and that be that. Ye had
a couple of solid outings, had some not so desirable,
including the one against Cooper Flag. Not a great outing
for him in a sense of big time scoring or

(02:20):
anything like that. But I did like that he looked
like he wanted to smoke, defensively, wanted the guard. Cooper
Flag loved that. So the question becomes, Carrie, with Bronnie,
what exactly are folks expecting? And can he crack JJ
Reddick's rotation still overcoming, you know, getting past that heart
condition still a couple of years ago. Can he jump
into being in the rotation and getting some actual meaningful minutes.

(02:42):
I look at it like this with Bronnie. Bronnie's in
a great situation for a chance to do that. And
I'll tell you why, And that's because I don't think
the Lakers drastically improve their roster. And when you look
at what the NBA currently is, this isn't the days
of you got your five stars, a six man and
maybe one other guy and that kind of is that
you roll it out there. You look at the better

(03:04):
teams right now, These teams are deep, These teams are
doing I said it a lot during the postseason. You're
seeing a lot of line changes. Yep, like hockey pacers
were thrown in three four other guys at a time.
Boom boom, boom boom. You look at the way Minnesota
was swarming yokis a couple of seasons ago, and just
the way they do it, bringing a bunch of guys.
You look at the Pistons, a bunch of younger guys.

(03:26):
You look at Houston Rockets, a bunch of guys, right,
just waves of young, athletic, energetic guys coming at you.
And then of course o Oklahoma City Thunders, who are
currently the reigning champs. So I think the Lakers put
themselves in a position where Bronnie they might have to
rely on ten twelve minutes a game, you know, thirteen
fourteen minutes a game from Bonnie, just simply as a

(03:49):
can you be the energizer, Bunny, you're twenty twenty, twenty
years old. We need all the energy we can get.
We need all the guys who can go. You see it.
What did you see a lot in the postseason? A
lot of ninety four feet Yeah, teams were pissons were
checking the necks ninety four feet you got the thunder
checking people ninety four feet, the pacers checking facers, and
you I feel like the Lakers haven't done enough, aren't

(04:12):
deep enough to kind of just say, you know, hey,
we can. You're not requiring that from Luca Marcus Smart,
who is a good defender when he's healthy. He's only
played fifty four games in the last couple of seasons,
so you don't really know what you're gonna get from him.
And then Austin Reeves is not a guy you want
to have out there going crazy on you know, garden
people ninety four feet. He's an okay defender. People pick
on him a lot, so to me, that is his

(04:34):
best way to absolutely try his best, to be a dog,
to be a pest, to be an annoyance on the
defensive end. Now you're still learning only your second year,
didn't play a lot last year at all. So he's
gonna get cooked at times, you know what I mean
when you like he got cooked last year getting Tyrese Max.
He's an All Star, So you're gonna have times where
these garden guys who are gonna still say continue to

(04:55):
say welcome to the NBA. But I absolutely don't think
that the Lakers have enough to just to neglect him.
There's gonna be times where they're gonna have to say, Bronnie,
we need ten to twelve real minutes out of you,
simply based off guy, because Luca's gonna have a night off.
Lebron is about to be forty one, really like fifty
one if you consider all the postseason runs. He's gonna

(05:17):
miss games. So I just think the Lakers are not
in a position to say no, Bronnie. I think he's
gonna absolutely have some games. It's a nice period where
they're gonna have to rely to him, not saying he's
gonna be excellent, not saying they're gonna get amazing minutes
all the time. But the desire for him to play
are the need for him to play. I think he's
gonna have to be there from time to time because

(05:37):
they don't have enough enough young lakes.

Speaker 4 (05:40):
Is it realistic to expect Bronnie to crack the Lakers' rotation? Yes,
But with that being said, that means they're not in
a good place. He's not ready to be a regular
rotational guy right I'm looking at their guys right now,
and if you look just their nine deep that I
think their nine deep will be. You got Smart, you
got Luca, you got Lebron, you got La Rabia, you

(06:01):
got Aighton, you got Ruie, you got Reeves, you got Vincent,
and then you know that last spot connect or him, Right,
Like in theory, that's probably what it would be. On
any given night, you're gonna need all ten of those
guys to play. So what you're saying and what they're
stating in this article is correct. But if he's one
of those guys you're expecting to come in and can
give you twelve minutes of super productive basketball, I don't

(06:24):
know if that's happening right. So I think what this
says for me when I look at this this statement,
and I think it will be true. The Lakers still
need some help and they still need some depth.

Speaker 3 (06:34):
And what I gather from this is he's gonna be
able to get some minutes because they need him in. Again,
all the guys you just named, yep, a lot of
them are either bigs or big ish Ruie, even Dalton
Connects is now he's not a big but like he's
not guarding faster. Yeah, like Vincent would be the only
Yay Vinchen is one of the only guys who kind
of can you know, smaller pests can get in there

(06:54):
and mix things up. So they're gonna I think they're
gonna need Ronny. But again, JJ Reddick talked about he's
gonna have to be in great shit and he's gonna
have to be in tip top shape to be able
to do that, because again it might say that's all
I need from you, go lockdown, go be annoying. And
he's got a long way to go, and he's got
the right person there to teach him that. Marcus Smart. Yeah,
when Marcus Smart got the Boston, he was a scored

(07:16):
in college, put up a lot of points. His role
wasn't that when he got the Boston it was to
be a pest, to be a defensive guy, and that's
what he was. And he has Smart there now he
needs to learn everything that Smart nos. So that's a
great that's a great point there. So what do you
brought to What I hear from this is the Lakers
are gonna be as most teams are with Luca. They're

(07:38):
gonna be very Luca dependent. And I think Luca coming
out that Men's Health article being in great shape. I
think they're because you look at it, they're not as deep.
They have players, but they're not in the same type
of the system. Isn't like some of these other teams, young, energetic,
go get it the Pistons of the Rockets, Orlando, a

(07:58):
bunch of young, hungry, go getty guys, don't have that
per se. They gotta they got some guys who can
play ru We can play at times. Uh, you know
you maybe sometimes you want more usin Reeves has been solid,
for sure. He's police found his role, his niche in
the league, and it's probably bought himself six more years
in the league without a doubt. But they don't they
don't have that thing yet. I don't think the Lakers
have found their identity yet. Like we're absolutely at this, Yeah,

(08:19):
this is what we are. And all the other teams
that are contenders, you know, the six or seven teams,
maybe three or two, you know, three or four from
kind of each conference, they know what they are. You
know what the thunder are, you know what the Rockets
are gonna be energetic, fast paced, harder nor defense and
in Kadi you can get us a bucket and crunch
time when we need and you know what the nuggets are.

Speaker 4 (08:40):
And I have no idea. If they have an idea
who their starting five is gonna be. That's gonna be
the most critical thing with this team because obviously you
look at it, you would think you bring over Smart.
Luca's not a defender, so Smart's gonna start, right, So
Smart's gonna play the point and you know, in theory,
or be the other guard Luca Lebron and see, I

(09:01):
think La Rabia and adans to start and bring Ruey
as that secondary ball handler off the bench to let
him go eat and so like, I want to see
how they make this thing work.

Speaker 3 (09:10):
And I think that's the first step. We need to
know what the lake and that's probably that's gonna be
one of the things JJ Reddick has to do. Figure
out a rotation, because that's the thing they Darvin ham
didn't have it. He was hands in his pockets. Ham
Hams make you dance. He was hands in his pocket.
And then JJ thought he had it master going into
last season, I figured it out, here's the best road,

(09:31):
this is the rotation that wins a bunch of games.
And he had to start twitching things around him and
then you know, and trying to figure that out. But
I go back to Luca. Luca, we read he's in shape,
he looks good. And to me and you being a
you know, mad fan and you can kind of react
to this, But this is Luca's very good, very very

(09:51):
good to great moment. This is his chance to go
for Oh, Luca absolent man, lucas one of the ones
to being no. One of the all time ones. To me,
this is where he has a chance to take it
to the next level. We see the difference in his physique.
We see and this isn't just a who I worked
out a little bit over the summer, No, this is
you can tell that is a mind set change, eating

(10:12):
diet or eating diet and having a motivation. For the
first time in his life, somebody didn't want him for
the first time in his life. Somebody was like, no,
we good on you. No, But I was all NBA
FO no, I know, but we good on you. I
dragged the team in the finals, I know, but you
can go. Yes, I get buckets on, I score seventy
some points and I know peace And for the first time,

(10:34):
Luca Dodgeons felt that sting of I ain't want it,
and now I think that added motivation. He's getting in shape.
People keep forgetting he was nicked up a little. He
was nicked up throughout the season last year. Seems to
be in better shape, better health. I think that's what
you're gonna see a heavy dose of Luca. They're going
to be heavily relying on him, and he's gonna be
out on a mission. And I think I'm telling you

(10:56):
I'm not a betting man, but I will almost put
some money on him in MVP right now. Oh if
you got a few hundred. You know, I'm not telling
you anybody. This ain't Shekel City, but dang it, because Luke,
I think he is for a vengeance. Luca already take
things personally and go at he takes. And now you
telling me I'm not good enough, You can go and
you want eighty six years old are always injured, and
that's who you want over me? Okay, Oh yeah, I

(11:19):
just sold. I was just about to close on this house.
Uh huh, Okay, got bounced out the first round. Didn't
look great, he did not and edwards at all we
had all the smoke was walking around figure Aura out
here in La walking around with fans tight. Hey, I'm
just hanging with LA fans. Yeah, I think all of
that adds to an amazing season on the way from Luca,

(11:39):
and but they're going to be heavily relying upon him,
and again they don't have to me the defensive structure
and the bunch of guys who are defensive minded to
where I think Brownie might have to be used even
if you're looking down, you go, I really didn't want to,
but almost have to.

Speaker 4 (11:55):
That's I mean, it's a good point. I mean their
roster isn't built that way, right. I Mean the only
one that I see real defenders on this list is smart.
I mean Lebron can play defense, obviously, Ayton at his best,
the shot blocker, rebounder, I wouldn't say he's like an
elite switcher, so he can really guard a guard. Ruey
doesn't play d Reeves as in either. So it's they're

(12:17):
gonna have to outscore a lot of people, and Luca
can do that with the team like this though, So
it's gonna be interesting to see how it all messes out.

Speaker 3 (12:23):
Man, I just think he's gonna be on a tear.
He looked great, Yeah, he got he had some shoulders
and some stuff I never even knew he had, never
knew he had.

Speaker 5 (12:32):
Rob g Just quick question, because you guys are talking
about the Lakers and their roster and everything you're saying
is true, right, Yeah, But one thing you did say,
Dub was that you believe that the Western Conference you mentioned, okay,
see obviously mentioned Houston, and you mentioned Denver. Now, Denver's
got the greatest player in the world, nikolay Okic, and
a like five guys, six guys that you feel really

(12:53):
good about. They also, similar to the Lakers, don't really
have other than Aaron Gordon great defenders. What's the difference
between them and the one star Jokic. Lakers got one
big star in Luca. Yeah, they got one really good
defender Aaron Gordon. Lakers got we assume one really good
defender Marcus mart Why is Denver considered an Inner Circle

(13:16):
championship contender and the Lakers aren't?

Speaker 3 (13:18):
At Robs, you absolutely a great question. I'm gonna tell you.
On the other side, it is the akable Kerry Roads

Speaker 3 (13:43):
But here's the thing.

Speaker 6 (13:44):
We never have enough time to get to everything we
want to get.

Speaker 7 (13:47):
To and that's why we have a brand new podcast
called over Promised. You see, we're having so much fun
in our two hour show. We never get to everything, honestly,
because this guy is over promised in things we never
have time for. Yeah, you blubber list lame in me.

Speaker 6 (14:01):
Well you know what it's called over promise. You should
be good at it because you've been over promising women
for years.

Speaker 7 (14:06):
Well, it's a Covino and Rich after show, and we

will continue on our after show called over Promised.

Speaker 6 (14:19):
Well, if you don't get enough Covino and Rich, make
sure you check out over Promised and also Uncensored, by
the way, So maybe we'll go at it even a
little harder. It's gonna be the best after show podcast
of all time.

Speaker 7 (14:30):
There you go, over promising. Remember you could see it
on YouTube, but definitely join us. Listen over Promised with
Covino and Rich on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts or

Fox Voice Radio. Huh huh? Way is this you? Or
I forgot to know that? You do know? We d
here in a little bit right, No, I'll do it
next break, next break? What's this, Alex? I can't give
you all my weight? You all I can't no, no, no catch.
You can't be on the show anymore. According to old

(15:02):
boy you and Rob g can't ask you.

Speaker 7 (15:04):
Anything anyone dy else se on Spectrum k Don.

Speaker 3 (15:06):
Yep, can't talk to you. Hey, Steve, I can't talk
to you. Yeah, And Carrie, I'm barely can talk to you.
Cordon him it is the odd couple kelvin Washington, carry
Rose and for Rob Parker on a trash talking Tuesday
and shout out to Alex right there doing his thing,
all right. So if y'at aking stiff back joints not
cooperating some days, your body's just like nope And then

(15:28):
on those days, luckily there is a lead with just
one pill of lead provides up to twelve hours of
pain relief, so you can keep moving. Please use as directed.
All right, rob G, you want to ask the question again. Yeah,
so we closed the last segment.

Speaker 5 (15:41):
You were talking about how you believe the Denver Nuggets
are one of the Inner Circle championship contenders. Had the
absolutely reason, and a lot of it, I'm sure has
to do with the fact that they have the best
player in the world right now, Nikola Jokicic, and they
have the championship pedigree. My question to you was, if
we're just going down the roster, comparing Denver's team and
the Lakers team, they're both built around one super duper

(16:01):
duper star Nikola Jokic Luka Doncic. Both teams are, to
put it, lightly defensively deficient up and down the roster.
Got Aaron Gordon is probably the only guy there in Denver,
and we're assuming Mark Smart healthwise is the only guy
in La and yet and then again Jamal Murray, Lebronja
you probably you probably even say the Lakers, man for man,

(16:24):
may have even a better top six or seven than Denver.
So why is it that Denver, even though I agree
with you, Why is Denver considered an inner circle contender
and the Lakers are not number one?

Speaker 3 (16:34):
Add the best play in the world. Let's just start there,
and Luca can contend maybe this year, the year he's
the certified, you know, undisputed number one playing a row.
But right now it's Jokic, So let's start there. Your
centerpiece is Jokic, you know figured and literally your centerpiece
is Jolkis. You know exactly what you have. There is
also a thing that I think we all know, and
it comes with this show. Me and Rob started it
almost a year ago. And now if you ask when

(16:56):
me and him are rocking continuity, you got the flow.
You know what you expect. They have continuity in their
main guys Jokish, Murray, Aaron Gordon, and in bringing back
Bruce Brown he was once there. You also have Christian Brown, right,
I know my role. I'm huge, Rob g You've heard
me talk about this a million times. Know your role,
Know your identity. I know exactly what I do on

(17:16):
this team. I know it's exactly asking me. I know
exactly how to play my position. You know, Carrie playing
on the team playing in sports that is so huge.
You mentioned Marcus Smarter coming out averaging twenty something the
game in Oklahoma Statewn'm ballard, this is what I do.
Find a role you want to give you, I'm gonna
give you an example. Pat Beverly. A lot of people
don't know this. What is he known for? Defense? Grind

(17:39):
or a tough Patrick Beverley was a bucket in Chicago
of course City public school. Yeah, averaging thirty five a
game buckets. This is oh, he's he left the all
time leader in the high school. Do you know the
high school grace that came out of that city. And
Patrick Beverly realized, I'm only six foot one, I'm not

(18:02):
gonna be able to do all this stuff I was
doing in high school, in college, in the NBA. And
he found his role to the tune of what like
fourteen year career and had a really nice one and
you know it was on It's really good teams, made
a bunch of money and changed his life. Yep. My
point is you have to know your roles, and I
don't think the Lakers have mastered that yet. The Laker,
you know, Luca is what he's gonna do but I
don't know what to do when he does that. If

(18:23):
I'm Ruey, I haven't mastered that yet. Ruy starts, he
comes off the bench, and and and again we just
hop about Bronie. I don't even know if I'm being
my g league, I'm playing connect? Am I playing? Am
I this? You know? Lebron And I'm the one? No,
I'm not the one anymore. I'm not the lead. Okay, well,
I'm the two. I gotta adjust for the first time
of life being the two, and I think that's the difference.
And also last point, Carrie jj Reddick doesn't know who

(18:44):
he is yet as well, So they're all trying to
find their in place and find what they do and
find that role. Whereas I think Denver, for the most part,
they do have a new coach. I mean he's been
with them now, he's been with him, but now his
first you know, frul season. But they know their roles
and they who know who they are, and that half
the battle, if not two thirds of.

Speaker 4 (19:01):
The battle, one hundred percent. I mean everything you said
is right, I think, Rob. The thing I will tell
you about the Lakers and them can content and being
in contention this year they can be. It's not like
they they can't. No finess their way in that in
that in that conversation. Obviously they got two of the
best players in the league on their team, right, so

(19:23):
anything can happen. But exactly what you say, Ad kelvin
the continuity knowing exactly what you're gonna do when the
game's tight and we need a bucket those situations. Denver's
been through it. Their main core has been through it
way too many times for them not to be contenders.
And we just saw them this past year where the
Lakers looked like trash in the playoffs, where and Denver

(19:45):
came out and really competed and had a chance to
really take these things to eat to the Western Conference finals.
Man so and they upgrade it and so yeah, I
just I don't think they're in that same conversation yet,
but they can be there.

Speaker 3 (19:58):
There's and that's why to me, the team, like you know,
the thunder know their role, right, you know exactly who
they are, and you look at them and you expect
again them. You look at the Denver Nuggets. I believe
Houston has slowly rolled. I think there's still some tweaks,
but now you have Katie and he kind of know, Hey,
you're a bucket. You didn't been to the championships before
a couple of teams, you didn't win it, but you've

(20:19):
been there finals with the Thunder obviously with the Warriors.
You know that, we know you know what to do
in your role, your position. Get a bucket. The other
young guys is slock up, is being energetic as fast breaks,
let's go, and they're gonna continue to find their way.
But that's kind of the thing I'm big on is
knowing my role in what's expected of me and do
we have continuity, because then therefore we can build a system,
we can build a thing, and we can build around

(20:41):
that and you got something going forward. But one of
the things I don't like is when I see a
team they don't know who they are. Yeah, they don't
know they are. We a defensive team, no, no, no, no,
they're a passing team. We run the way we don't
run them, okay, and then that means week to week
you're just out there winging it, and I don't like
that in any sport team. I like if I if
I say the Baltimore Ravens, you know what that is
they can gonna be a lot of Derek Henry in
your face, and it's gonna be a lot of Lamar

(21:02):
making some decision and then play action can come after
that and the defense will try to do his thing.

Speaker 4 (21:06):
You know the crazy part you just said Baltimore. But
the team I was gonna throw out there for the
perfect example of what you're saying, it was the Boston Celtics.
It was boring right the year before, the year before
when they won it, it was boring. They shot threes,
they got to their same spots. They know it's playing defense.
They know it's gonna you know, be the guy that's
gonna run around and run through screens and and be
aggressive through that. Like they know their roles. And it

(21:29):
was to the point where it's boring, Like greatness should
be boring, Like when you get to the point of
understanding that I have to do this thing every day
for us to be good, I'm gonna master being good
at that role and moving forward. That's the teams that win,
I mean, the Patriot way, that's what that was. Everyone
just played their role.

Speaker 3 (21:47):
Period. You don't know why Malcolm Butler got that interception
because to your point, they beat it in his head
when you see this formation, when you do that, know
this this slant is coming. And he talked about it.
He said, I just had a like I saw it.
That's what they do. And he just blined to the
ball got the interception to save the game. Yep, because
you mentioned he practiced, he performed that. He knew it,
and he was ready and study preferred. He knew his

(22:08):
role for it. All right, We're gonna go to Steve
now and then I'm gonna explain. Now I have a
little bit more of an inkling on why Shoulder Sanders
is getting treated the way he's getting trud You do, yeah, Steve.

Speaker 8 (22:20):
By the way, best know, your role player might be
Dennis Rodman who is a superb scorer in college or something,
a huge low post threat and then barely shot or
needed to in the NBA and g.

Speaker 3 (22:32):
He might let me in the dictionary. Steve, You're right, Yeah, absolutely.

Speaker 3 (22:48):
Thank you, Steve, have an excellent night. It is the
odd couple. Carrie Rose in for Rob Kevin Washington trash
talking Tuesday, Steve, you left one thing out. There's an
update here.

Speaker 4 (22:56):
We did have a new update, Steve, We had a
we had a Rob Parker's sighting in New Orleans.

Speaker 3 (23:01):
Didn't make the news one. He was in New Orleans.

Speaker 4 (23:03):
He's at Marvel's Steak right now having a great conversation
with Norman Kalao. So that's going on right now, Steve.

Speaker 8 (23:10):
Are the cliff notes for exactly to know who these
people are?

Speaker 3 (23:14):
No idea. That's very rob of Rob to just throw
it out there, like we all went to high school
with them or something. We're supposed to do them.

Speaker 8 (23:20):
So there he was a short step on the nineteen
eighty three.

Speaker 3 (23:23):
How do we not know that? There we go. We
got our Rob Parker updated. It was interesting. I mean,
he's got to be here in less than twenty four hours,
so he's cutting it close. Wow. Up there in New Orleans,
he's getting it in all right. Speaking of New Orleans.
By the way, I sent you to a Southern Foods
please and you enjoyed that, man, Kelvin, I was in
heaven for about fifteen minutes. I ate that thing really quickly.

(23:45):
Had a little some shrimp and grits. I saw that
you so good. Yeah, you bit the fork. That was
a little bit. You got to relax a little bit,
all right. So the Cleveland Browns owner had a lot
to say about kind of how it went down when
it came to you drafting shaduor Sanders. Here's what you
had to say.

Speaker 9 (24:05):
I says, Okay, and if you told me Friday night
driving Homiel, are gonna pick Shanor, I would say that
that's not happening. But we had a conversation early that morning. Uh,
and then we had a conversation later that day. I
think we had the right people involved in the conversation.
At the end of the day. That's Andrew Berry's call.
Andrew made the call to pick shador.

Speaker 3 (24:24):
Uh. That's very telling me. That's Jimmy has them there,
the owner And to me, I heard something there because
we've been all speculating, well, dang, why didn't why didn't
they do it? Okay, why did they draft? They already
had a bunch of quarterback like kind of trying to
figure out what's going on, and then now why he's
not getting first string rats, which a lot of former
pros like yourself saved. Don't don't take too much into
that right now. Still a little early first team reps.

(24:45):
But what I heard right there, Carrie was the way
run that back for me real quick, Alex. That first
couple of sentences, Listen, we.

Speaker 9 (24:51):
Have good process, okay. And if you told me Friday
night driving Homiel are gonna pick Shanor, I would say
that that's not happening.

Speaker 3 (24:58):
But right we had to come. That's not happening to me.
Sounds like I don't want him, you know, I'm a
pass on that that's not happening. Sounds more that's more
of a definitive m. No, no, no, not. We're up in,
we're open minded, we're considering, we're thinking about. That's not happening.
From an owner, sounds like no. But then what I

(25:20):
think happened was he just talked about Then the general
manager and the coach kind of said, all right, look,
I think at a certain point they said, man, the
risk is verse is worth the reward. Yeah, he's We
all kind of had him as a Okay, let's say
you wanted to say second round talent. Let's say you
want to say third round talent. Fine, Well, now he's
sitting here in the fifth round. And by the way, Jimmy,

(25:43):
we don't have a start quarterback that we can look
in the eye and say we feel good about. So maybe,
just maybe we might want to get him, cause you
never know. Yeah, And that's what I heard is the
owner saying Jimmy Hashim saying no, and them coming in
them explaining, look, we didn't do it third run, didn't
do a fourth round. He's just kind of falling in

(26:03):
our lap again a guy we had projected it was
maybe and maybe they had a second third round, you know,
but I think he didn't like all the other stuff
of course that comes with it, the cockiness, maybe he
didn't interview well, I don't know, but the braggadocious feel,
which I think is being overstated, if you kind of
because it's just kind of fluff. And I don't think
it's really him by all accounts. He works hard as heck,

(26:24):
he's a good kid and never got in trouble. But
maybe he rubbed Jimmy has them the wrong way and
so he said no, if you'd told me in front,
we ain't getting him new. But I think eventually they
said there's no way we can pass on him right now,
and I think he said that's why he said at
the end, ultimately he said, they make the call.

Speaker 4 (26:41):
And you know what, the beautiful thing about all of that,
Kelvin is what Haslam said. He's the owner of the team,
but somebody else makes the call. So for me, what
I get from that, it's like, whenever you're trying to
assemble a team of people that you know that's going
to be around you your business in life, that are
making decisions for you, make sure that those people they

(27:05):
know equal or more than you. And so like I
think when I when I hear that, I see somebody
that's obviously in the powerful position, a position of authority
that can make the ultimate decision of you know, getting
somebody drafted or not drafted, actually taking a step back
and saying I hire people around me that are really
good at what they do. I'm going to let them

(27:26):
do what they do. And so, like you said, there's
no ways should door senators in the fifth round, should
should have been at that point, But the fact that
he is and you have a chance to grab that
type of player that can come in at that value,
you take them.

Speaker 3 (27:39):
Antithesis of Jerry Jones, what you're saying, who can do
this job better than me? I'm the one I know,
I know everything. I've been around for a long time.
Like he's the intensitist of that. He's like, hey man,
look all right. I thought I thought we agreed he
wasn't a guy, right, but you guys feel that he is.
And when they had to get him, here's something else
has when had to say, he said, I'll say this
for the two quarterbacks. He was ask about uh Shador

(28:03):
and he said he's come in the building, worked hard,
kept his head down and done what he's supposed to do,
as has Dylan Gabriel, which is no surprise for either
of them. So I keep asking, when Rob's here and
we're having our conversations, I don't know what more they
we're supposed to do. Obviously there's a pecking order. Yep.
You know, he's fifth round pick, so he's gonna get

(28:24):
kind of these do in the lower end of the
total pole. But as far as what he's been able
to do and what he can control, Schador has done that.
Now the big mess up, all right, these speeding tickets
out here hanging around Rob g getting tickets and holding
cell phones when you didn't hear about that. I heard
about that, rob robby speeding to they be getting cell

(28:45):
phone tickets and all that. Yeah, now that that you know,
because the one thing you don't need is another distraction.
If you should do it, if people are concerned the
distractions are coming because of you, the last thing I
need to do is give you another distraction. So Chador
definitely doesn't want that. But everything we keep hearing, man,
I love him. He works hard. Man, he's actually man.
That dude is accurate. Oh man, you hear from other players,

(29:05):
oh Man, love his disposition. I love it. You know
what he's about. So he's doing everything he can. At
the end of the day. You know this. Listen, Tom
Brady sixth round pick, Drew Bledsoe goes down. You're in there,
Kenny pick has already hurt, Joe flat goes already old.
And maybe they say, you know what you know? Maybe
they just we already know what we got there. Let's
move on. Let's see I Kenny picks a guy, maybe
he's not. Then you maybe Dalan Gabriel. You know what

(29:26):
I'm saying that you're gonna work your way up. If
you're shoulder just because the nature of the game, some
opportunity is gonna present itself. And Shadure has said and
now his father too, is still wishing him all the best.
That's what the preseason like. But when I get my shot,
that's what should do, Dion said. He's what he told me.
He said, down, I don't even want you to come
out here. You're dealing with health issue. Don't worry about it.

(29:47):
Just I'm not getting any real I don't want you
to come out here. I'm only getting three, four tens,
seven attempts, he said. But when that preseason game comes
and I get my shot, then I'm gonna show him
what it is. And that's all he needs to do.

Speaker 4 (29:58):
I mean, keep his head down, control what he can control, uh,
the rest of it, man, Like, once you get a
chance to put on that uniform and play some games
and getting the preseason show. Like again, when you get
those preseason games, you're auditioning for the whole league, right,
not just for that team either.

Speaker 3 (30:12):
So we'll see what he has.

Speaker 4 (30:14):
I mean, obviously, these training camp updates and how accurate
and and how how great they've been in seven on
seven like that doesn't move me. So I need to
see what happens during these games. But Sdor's got talent.
He's gonna he's gonna land on some roster and he's
gonna get some playing time here.

Speaker 3 (30:29):
Yeah, I think he. I think he has a kind
of a geno Smith like you know, and maybe it
takes a while to get going, and you know, maybe
because the Browns. I don't think the Browns know what
they're doing. And they talked about it. They're not They're
not trying to be in the March for Arch. They're
not trying to be in that. Yeah, he talked about that,
has them talked about that. We're not that's not the
game play. He said he thinks he's gonna play a
couple more years. He said, you're very very close has

(30:50):
them with the Manning family, and he said, knowing them,
if you know anything about them, he's probably gonna play
two years. So wow, you know they're not meaning this
upcoming season wouldn't be the be his first full year start.

Speaker 8 (31:01):
Right.

Speaker 3 (31:01):
So he said, they're not in the March for Arts
right now, which I've been saying that too, like we are.
We just assuming he's just gonna leave after one, that's right, obviously.
I think the chance will be there, the ability to
do so. But I don't know. It's just a given
that he's gonna walk out like and it's just not
a rush anymore. The league.

Speaker 4 (31:16):
They're making money in college people like him in Texas.
In Texas, Oh, they got that money. So I'm telling
you he's not in the rush. And he's from money,
of course, ain't in a rush.

Speaker 3 (31:28):
He's not in a rush. Everybody in our family got money.
My granddaddy was in the league. My two uncles are
in the league. One of them is insanely paid from
all the investments and everything in Payton. Money is not
what JD and jay Z say. The money ain't a
thing money edit thing money. Ain't out that money any
thing for us. So he'll be all right,
