our best trash talking.

Speaker 3 (01:23):
Of all time. He really did.

Speaker 5 (01:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:25):
I was like, we've had some good ones. It was
energetic though, but it was great. Sean from Sacramento stepped
then a couple guys had some good stuff. People were passionate.
We love it.

Speaker 6 (01:36):
Thank you for participating.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
If you didn't.

Speaker 4 (01:38):
Trash Talking Tuesday always our number two on the program.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
So great. Well, speaking of trash Talking Tuesday, Rob.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
G trash Caitlin Clark and Rob Tonight's her debut Indiana Fever.

Speaker 6 (01:55):
It was more like a day but the way that
she's played.

Speaker 3 (01:57):
So fou and what.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
They are in Connecticut against the Connecticut Sun. First sellout,
Rob Gd, you say that in twenty years, right, it's a.

Speaker 7 (02:10):
First home opener sellout for the Connecticut Sun in twenty
one seasons.

Speaker 6 (02:14):
It gotta be. Is that the first sellout period? Like
they sell.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
Eight three hundred?

Speaker 6 (02:20):
Is that the number?

Speaker 3 (02:21):
Yeah, so it's a smaller arena, but they sold it out.

Speaker 7 (02:25):
So Tonight's game sold eight ten, okay.

Speaker 3 (02:29):
Eight nine ten? All right?

Speaker 4 (02:32):
Was it up fifty dollars night or no? This is
just people buying tickets.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
Caitlyn Clark, Rob, they are late, I guess midway through
essentially midway through the third quarter fifty nine forty seven,
Connecticut leading Caitlan Clark ten points, one assist, three steals,
or in three of ten, shooting two of seven from

(02:59):
three rob seven turnovers. And the interesting thing too, her
teammate Aliah Boston, who was the Rookie of the Year
last year. She only has.

Speaker 3 (03:12):
Four points in the game.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
And I don't know if you guys saw it, if
you're watching it, it looked like Aliah Boston. She was
definitely She was talking to Caitlyn Clark about something as
they were walking into the locker room at halftime.

Speaker 3 (03:29):
But it was a spirited talk.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
It wasn't really a conversation because Clark was just listening.
But whatever Boston was telling her, she was spirited about it. So, Rob,
what are your thoughts on this debut and what this
could I mean, it's one game, but you know what
this could mean for the WNBA and all the buzz

(03:52):
surrounding Caitlin Clark.

Speaker 6 (03:54):
I mean, it's one game, but she has to christ people.
She's built up.

Speaker 4 (04:00):
Uh, I must see kind of persona and game logo, threes,
the long three.

Speaker 6 (04:08):
Stuff that got people juices flown.

Speaker 4 (04:10):
This wasn't just like she's just playing kind of pedestrian
basketball or doing stuff that everybody else was doing. She
was Steph Stephan the dress, you know, right, and that's
what made her Uh people like want to.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
Turn in and what's that? She just made turnover number eight?

Speaker 4 (04:31):
My goodness, gracious, she was driving to the whole all right,
I'm gonna say it.

Speaker 6 (04:35):
She had more turnovers than Betty Crocker. How's that?

Speaker 3 (04:38):
Is that a bakery?

Speaker 4 (04:40):
Okay, you're always saying that, all right, Betty Crocker, but
you get my point, Chris, like, like, it's gotta be
of that ilk.

Speaker 6 (04:48):
That's what people want to see.

Speaker 4 (04:50):
I'm not saying that because this happened that nobody's going
to the next game or whatever. But that's the kind
of stuff that people are looking for from her. This
will be disappointing, all the turnovers, not making shots. It
could be nerves her first game. It's different between the
preseason and finally playing, you know, for real and and
and it all counts. But I don't think like, oh

(05:15):
my god, you know, people are not going to show
up to the next game because of this.

Speaker 3 (05:19):
No, I hear you.

Speaker 1 (05:20):
And it is one game, so we obviously you don't
want to bury her. I'll say this though, Rob in
college basketball with women right now, every game she played
at Iowa was an event, right particularly in the tournament.

(05:43):
I mean, and some of that's the nature of college basketball.
There are you know, fewer games, there's alumni that's invested
in the in the school, the student body obviously invested
in the school, and it just has that feel of

(06:04):
every game is more important than every game in the pros.
And I gotta be honest, watching this game, I don't
feel the same buzz that I felt. And this isn't
even just necessarily based on her performance, just there's just
the same buzz, right that that surrounded her college games.

Speaker 4 (06:28):
You get what I'm saying, Like, but Chris, I see it,
Like look at the difference the arena smaller, like right,
Like it doesn't have this is just a one of
whatever how many games they played, thirty games or whatever
it is, rodya, one of forty. This isn't for a
tournament with Chris, it's winner go home, right Like, there's

(06:49):
a there's a that that hypes everything else up, like
like like whenever there's single elimination, you know that the
game is urgent. People are watching it, and she gonna
do she gonna do liver? Is she gonna have a
bad night? Is she gonna make a big three? Is
she gonna walk into a logo three to win?

Speaker 3 (07:05):
Again?

Speaker 6 (07:06):
Like there's a lot more.

Speaker 3 (07:07):
Rioting, because yeah, it just it doesn't feel the same.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
And I'll say this, and it's really not fair to her,
but and it's not fair to ask her to carry
the league, but Rob, they need her to tear it up.

Speaker 3 (07:23):
The w NBA needs her.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
To get busy, like her having your typical growing pains
of a rookie maybe averaging fourteen and seven or whatever,
you know, but not you know, not really tearing the
league up. Guess what it's not that's not going to
take it to the next level that the WNBA thinks,

(07:50):
you know, has counted on her doing. It's just not
I don't know that the public's gonna have the patience
to watch her go through these only pains. I just
don't I don't know that they're gonna do that, Rob,
And I think that she's they need her and again
it's not fair, but they need her to really go

(08:11):
out there and do damage, and she may not be.

Speaker 3 (08:15):
Able to do it.

Speaker 1 (08:17):
I think they got they She's not the first great
player to play in the w NBA. Diana Trozi hasn't
like taken the league, you know, carried the league to
some great heights.

Speaker 3 (08:32):
Lisa Leslie, Chryl.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
Swoops, Sue Bird, we could go on. None of them
have been able to like make the game the sport
capture everyone's imagination. And also Rob because there's people maybe
for ESPN that you know, they're relation the w NBA,
you know, and all the buzz that Caitlyn Clark's brought

(08:57):
to women's basketball, and I get it, but Rob, even
ESPN all of the stops that they've pulled out for
Caitlin Clark, right, and people at the game, you know,
they got their whole set up at the game and
they're doing the time.

Speaker 3 (09:12):
It's over the top, right. They didn't do that.

Speaker 1 (09:15):
They want they might want to jump on other they
didn't do that for the other great players. They didn't
do that for all the other great you know, college
women that went Candice Parker.

Speaker 6 (09:26):
Because they didn't have numbers, they didn't have right numbers.

Speaker 4 (09:29):
So ESPN, and rightfully so, as a media company in
the TV network, they think there's something hot you push it.
Let's see if we can get numbers out of this.
Let's see if the w NBA hasn't been getting numbers
for decades.

Speaker 6 (09:44):
Let's see if maybe, just maybe she.

Speaker 4 (09:47):
Ticks the needle up where we're in the black Chris
that like, we finally got numbers that we can sell
and maybe make some money.

Speaker 6 (09:54):
Off this, you know what I mean, Like like like.

Speaker 1 (09:57):
I get yeah, but you're gonna have to get busy.
It's similar to Lineso ball. Remember the buzz about him
and then he didn't deliver obviously and it just faded
away Wimby Rob People were down on Wimby after his
first you know game, and then he you know, he
obviously delivered this season, and so that it really is

(10:21):
riding on that, and you could say, like Rob g
payned women's basketball. This might be a sign Rob, that
they're actually really much better than we expected. Like there
is a huge, you know gap between the WNBA and
big time college basketball for women, just like there is

(10:45):
between college basketball for men and the NBA. So that
shows that, you know what, these other WNBA players are nice,
But is that going to help the popularity of the sport.

Speaker 3 (10:59):
No, they need her to be.

Speaker 6 (11:02):
Like they need her to be.

Speaker 4 (11:03):
They need her to be the Harlem Globe trotter, something
that Chris, you just haven't seen and you want to see.
And every city she goes in, they pack the place
because they want to see her do something special through
something a logo three. My god, look at what she did.
Look at the how deep she was on that one.
That was a mazing She just scored thirty five points

(11:25):
and she had thirteen threes or whatever it is, Chris,
you know what, I'm just like, like, that's what people
are looking for. Not a nice game. She had fourteen
points on fifteen shots. No one's gonna go back for that.

Speaker 3 (11:37):
Yeah, And I think, look, you would think that even if.

Speaker 1 (11:40):
She doesn't have a great rookie season or you know,
I'm sure she'll have a good rookie season for a rookie, right,
But if she doesn't like have an all star type season, sure,
eventually I would think get to that level. But are
people willing to wait?

Speaker 3 (11:57):
You know?

Speaker 1 (11:57):
Maybe, and maybe they even won't wait, But maybe if
she ever dominates the WNBA like she's dominated college basketball,
even if it's four years from now, five years from now,
maybe people will go back who knows, but somewhat disappointed
at least so far.

Speaker 3 (12:14):
Debut. They're down sixty five fifty seven Rob.

Speaker 1 (12:17):
At the end of the third quarter, she she's got
twelve points now to assist, three of ten shooting and
eight turnovers. All right, we're throwing it out to you,
Caitlin Clark. What do you think about her debut and
do you think she's going to be able to you know,
turn the WNB. Put the WNBA on the map. Yeah,

(12:42):
put the WNBA on the map. Your thoughts next, Chris

Speaker 4 (14:46):
Your thoughts and where are the women? Eight seven seven
ninety nine on Fox. You guys better call in. I'm saying,
watching the Knicks and the Pacers. Okay, that's what they're doing. Yes,
Leo in New York, you're in the odd couple. Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 6 (14:59):
What's up, Leo?

Speaker 5 (15:01):
What's up?

Speaker 9 (15:01):
Guys? How you guys doing.

Speaker 6 (15:04):
Leo's taking a break from the next game. Unbelievable.

Speaker 9 (15:08):
You already know, you already know. But the back kitchen clock.
I'm not making too much out of this. This is
just one game out of forty. I feel like this
is almost like, you know, longso Ball and Patrick Beverly
Game one or I'm going to show you kid that
you know this is the grown people League. You're not
going to come out of.

Speaker 3 (15:28):
Example.

Speaker 4 (15:29):
Yes, because that was a precursor of why found up seeing.

Speaker 9 (15:34):
Right exactly exactly so right now, I feel like we
just want to have let it breathe, let it develop,
and see what she does in the future. But you
know we want to have to take you know, think
it easy with her, but hopefully she can bounce back
and carry this league because she's the last home, it seems.

Speaker 3 (15:51):
Will it be crazy to write anybody wrote her off.

Speaker 6 (15:53):
We're not doing that, be ridiculous.

Speaker 1 (15:55):
What we're saying is they the league doesn't necessarily have
the luxury of her going through the typical growing pack,
right superstar Leo, you gotta comment?

Speaker 3 (16:07):
What's up?

Speaker 9 (16:08):
Yes, mixing superstar Brown?

Speaker 3 (16:14):
He ain't no superstar.

Speaker 1 (16:15):
I picked Nixon. Six was my pick, but he ain't
not yet. He might be one day. But Rob was
the one picked him to lose in six.

Speaker 3 (16:25):
Yes, rub you Rob, you know what you knew.

Speaker 4 (16:30):
As a game, we see Chris, they're up, They're up big.

Speaker 3 (16:35):
No, it ain't over, so we'll see.

Speaker 6 (16:37):
Thanks.

Speaker 4 (16:38):
Leo appreciated eight seven, seven ninety nine on five. So
that any women out there have ever been to a
w NBA game or they glued to ESPN too, is
that what they're doing.

Speaker 3 (16:48):
I'm just saying, are you jumping on women?

Speaker 4 (16:51):
So cuz the w NBA they complained about no coverage
and people don't pay them the same amount of money. Cris,
this and there, this and that. The support on women
to support it, No, I want them men. I want
them to. I just say, I'm just asking, Yeah, I
do want them to support more than men for them,
they should.

Speaker 3 (17:11):
But but I mean, men have daughters. All these women.

Speaker 4 (17:14):
Can't say that men, Chris. I'm not saying that men
shouldn't support it, but if the women don't go, they're
more women than men in this country.

Speaker 3 (17:23):
They can barely. I mean that's close.

Speaker 6 (17:26):
They can move.

Speaker 3 (17:27):
They can move sixty women. It's very close.

Speaker 6 (17:30):
They can move the needle if they want.

Speaker 3 (17:32):
That's all I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (17:33):
But is it on them? I'm just wondering. I'm not
saying it's not. I'm just yeah, they more than men.

Speaker 3 (17:40):
Yep.

Speaker 4 (17:41):
They should be buying taking when you've got a guy,
you want to take a guy out on.

Speaker 6 (17:44):
The date, if that ever happens.

Speaker 4 (17:46):
But if you want to buy tickets and take a gun,
take a guy, women never taking you out on the date.

Speaker 6 (17:54):
It's a good question, Chris. I'm gonna say, yeah, it's
a no.

Speaker 3 (18:00):
Thanks man. I got to be honest.

Speaker 1 (18:02):
I mean, you know, I've been married for almost twenty
nine years now.

Speaker 3 (18:06):
I don't think a woman's.

Speaker 6 (18:09):
No, Chris.

Speaker 4 (18:10):
I don't like call me up and say, hey, let's
go to this, and I bought tickets.

Speaker 6 (18:15):
Now I wouldn't.

Speaker 1 (18:17):
I did get asked to a dance, homecoming dance in
high school by a girl that's.

Speaker 10 (18:23):
Kind of like.

Speaker 3 (18:24):
I asked me, yeah, I can't, Yeah, she asked me. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (18:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (18:29):
I had to turn the chick down when she asked
me because I was homecoming king.

Speaker 3 (18:33):
So I just said I've already were Chris No? I
mean yeah, I don't think so.

Speaker 6 (18:39):
Look, why are you no, Chris?

Speaker 3 (18:46):
I didn't think so.

Speaker 6 (18:47):
What Chris was like? Shut? What a homecoming? What kind
of school is that? Let's go to?

Speaker 4 (18:54):
Let's go to Kyle and Virginia Beach, you're on the
couple of Fox Sports.

Speaker 6 (18:58):
I see how you think about me. You know you
thought it was inconceivable. I was homecoming inconceivable. What's up, Kyle?

Speaker 5 (19:06):
What's good?

Speaker 3 (19:07):
What's up? Are we doing great?

Speaker 2 (19:09):
Great?

Speaker 3 (19:09):
How are you?

Speaker 11 (19:11):
I'm doing good now that my nuggets are back to too,
We're feeling good for weeks. I was a little shame.

Speaker 3 (19:18):
Are you in Denver? No? No, Virginia Beach, Virginia Beach.

Speaker 11 (19:22):
I'm a huge Nuggets fan because Carmel and Anthony backs
in the day. So I'm playing different when I was thirteen, That's.

Speaker 6 (19:27):
What That's right, I said that absolutely.

Speaker 11 (19:30):
But yeah, so the women's basketball, you know, I think
the Jabrini Nesu Nike campaign that has worked with her
shoes and stuff, I think we're forgetting that. And she
did the step first the Sabrin you know, three point
contest this year. That actually worked out pretty well for it,

(19:51):
and she was like, I'll use the men's ball and
it worked out well. So with Kaylyn Clark, we just
got to let it breeze. You know, she's gonna have turnovers.

Speaker 5 (19:58):
It's hard.

Speaker 11 (19:59):
It's a pro league, right.

Speaker 1 (20:03):
He said, I and Esco Did she she didn't use
the men's ball in the three point shootout with Steph?

Speaker 3 (20:08):
Did she? She shot at the men's distance? Yeah, I
don't think women's ball, right.

Speaker 4 (20:15):
And that bass feels like a volleyball. They snuck that
in when I played Nancy. It just messed up my time.

Speaker 3 (20:20):
He was using as an excuse, wall she's the women's ball.

Speaker 4 (20:27):
That one more, go ahead, squeeze, one more in Christ
and then you can make a point Dwight.

Speaker 6 (20:32):
Dwight and Kentucky, you're in the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 5 (20:34):
What's up, Dwight, Dany what's up?

Speaker 12 (20:36):
Man?

Speaker 5 (20:36):
How are you doing doing it?

Speaker 3 (20:38):
How are you?

Speaker 5 (20:39):
I'm good. I was calling because I wanted to say
I think that the w n B a kind of
dropped the ball, because if I was them, I would
have promoted it more like the Matthew Johnson Larry Bird thing,
you know what I'm saying, Like with her and Angel
Rees and then you know, like the NBA. Does you
know they in the NFL, they scheduled their games, you know,

(21:00):
like like the first game that got come up this year.
You know they got Kansas City and Western Man. You know,
so they could have scheduled her team against Angel each
team that he could make it more like a team thing.
And it don't matter if he's one of them have
a good game or not, because it's gonna be more.

Speaker 4 (21:14):
Like, well, Angel Reach was like the seventh pick, wasn't
she Chris. That's the sad she's not on. She's not
as good as Caitlyn.

Speaker 1 (21:22):
Now, you know, maybe you'll have a better WNBA career
for all we know, but but they were not on
the same level. No disrespect to Angel, Rob, but I
mean it was Kitlyn Clark was one.

Speaker 6 (21:33):
If it was if they were one and two, Chris,
then you could do that.

Speaker 1 (21:36):
But one time, I mean, look, you still could have tried,
but it might have felt forced because she's just not
you know, she wasn't on the level that Caitlyn was.
And she was great. She was one of the best
college players. But I'm just saying, but I Rob with
I wanted to bring up they just ran a commercial
and Robs, you are y'all watching the game, Rob, y'all

(21:58):
have it on it. So they ran a commercial for
the WNBA and the women you know, I guess they
have that underwear that's skim tone skims, right, and they
just ran a commercial with the women wearing the skim tones,
you know, all the WNBA or a lot of the

(22:18):
NBA players.

Speaker 3 (22:19):
I just wonder, is that Do you think.

Speaker 1 (22:22):
That's a good way to market because it was a
sex appeal type thing to it. You know what I mean,
Is that a good way to market it? Is that belittling?

Speaker 6 (22:31):
Is that?

Speaker 1 (22:32):
Am I reading too much into it? That it was
a sex appeal type thing or you know, I don't know.
I'm not I'm not really passing judgment on it one
way or the other. I'm just wondering if anybody had
any thoughts on it.

Speaker 4 (22:42):
Yeah, they're a brand partner with the league, so this
is something you know, right, I think I think it's
both too, men and women. Christ so it's like just
the promotion men with the NBA too.

Speaker 3 (22:55):
They're doing.

Speaker 7 (22:56):
Yes, skims is the Kim Kardashian line. Okay, she's the
whatever person behind that kind of underwear for men and women,
and so they have a partnership with both.

Speaker 3 (23:06):
Have there been men's commercials like that? Yeah, there have been.

Speaker 7 (23:10):
There have been photoshoot I believe that Shay Gildess Alexander
might be the most famous one.

Speaker 6 (23:15):
That's yeah, you know, I have seen that.

Speaker 3 (23:17):
So he's sitting there in underwear.

Speaker 7 (23:19):
Yeah, I mean, but it's not as shocking to see
a man in underwear as it is to see a woman,
you know, I mean.

Speaker 3 (23:24):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I had not seen it.

Speaker 1 (23:29):
It was a little surprised because it looked like and
again that that's well, the league is in partnership with it,
but it looked like they were trying to sell a.

Speaker 3 (23:38):
Little sex appeal.

Speaker 6 (23:39):
Trying to sell a sex appeal.

Speaker 3 (23:40):
That's what women like.

Speaker 1 (23:41):
But yeah and not you know, I don't know, but yeah,
all right, troll and the roller with Martin Weiss's next, but.

Speaker 2 (23:48):
First, Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup
in the nation. Catch all of our shows at foxsports
Radio dot com and within the iHeartRadio app search FSR
to listen live.

Speaker 13 (24:01):
That's right, troll to rolling Martin Weis and not bringing
down for you real quick. If Rob and Chris liked
the story that I read to hit a role sound,
they see me and if they don't, they'll trolling.

Speaker 3 (24:13):
Oh many.

Speaker 13 (24:17):
James has had an up and down draft combine so far,
but he's turned some heads in his interviews. When asked
what NBA player he modeled his game after, he offered
him three options, Derek White and Drew Holliday and Davion Mitchell,
I guess he's a fan of the Celtics. Chris trolling
and rolling, Ronnie self comps, I'm a roll with him.

Speaker 3 (24:44):
They see me. I like the fact that he said
essentially role players.

Speaker 14 (24:50):
You know he didn't say uh, Dwaye Wade, Anthony Edwards
like he didn't want he didn't want the report who
was drinking a coke to do a Danny Thomas spit
take on him, Chris.

Speaker 1 (25:04):
So he just I mean, can you imagine if he
would have said, you know, Dwayne Wade, I got a
little of that, I got some Anthony Edwards, you know.

Speaker 6 (25:13):
I mean, I would not have worked out.

Speaker 3 (25:15):
He did the right thing.

Speaker 1 (25:17):
Look, Davion Mitchell, I mean that that looks like a
decent comp And I think that's what Ronnie at this
point sees himself as anybody in the.

Speaker 3 (25:26):
NBA that likes him.

Speaker 1 (25:28):
I think they their hope is, you know what, really
get after defensively at the point guard position and hit
some open threes, you know, off the bitch, give us
a few minutes doing that and run the offense.

Speaker 3 (25:41):
That's what they see. And so I like his comps.

Speaker 6 (25:44):
Yeah, I'm gonna roll with.

Speaker 3 (25:45):
It as well.

Speaker 13 (25:45):
They see me.

Speaker 3 (25:47):
I think he played it right.

Speaker 4 (25:48):
He knows he didn't have the college season at USC one.

Speaker 6 (25:53):
Great, Chris.

Speaker 4 (25:54):
A lot of people, uh aren't that high or you know,
no one's random Raven. He's not gonna be a lottery
pick or anything like that. So why would he put
something out there and then be a second round pick.

Speaker 6 (26:06):
You know what I mean? Like, I think he's smart and.

Speaker 3 (26:08):
That's good for him.

Speaker 13 (26:09):
Smart yeap that smartest That would have exploded had he
said Uncle Dwayne Yes trolled a rolling I couple fox.

Speaker 1 (26:19):
Words like somewhere between Dwayne Waye All and Iverson.

Speaker 3 (26:24):
Yeah, right, that.

Speaker 6 (26:25):
Alan without the corn rolls. How's that?

Speaker 13 (26:29):
Caleb Williams is a new quarterback one in Chicago, but
reports are coming out about the old one. Apparently, Nick Foles,
who was a backup in Chicago in twenty twenty one,
tried to advise young Justin Fields just to find out
Fields wasn't listening to the former Super Bowl winning quarterbacks advice.
As a result, an anonymous source said, quote, the two
players couldn't stand each other, Chris trolling and rolling dustin

(26:54):
Fields ignoring Nick Foles causing such a big deal.

Speaker 1 (27:00):
So Car is it a big deal that he ignored Foles?
I'm going to I'll roll with it. Look, Nick Foles
obviously hasn't been a great NFL quarterback, but he did
have a great NFL run, and he had a few great,
really nice runs, one of them, of course, to win

(27:23):
the Super Bowl and I just think, Rob, you come
in as a young guy. Obviously you want to be
if this is true, so I'm basing on if this
is true. But you come in as a young guy,
you want to be confident, right and secure and kind
of show that you're you can be a leader. But
I think you also have to listen and you have

(27:44):
to be humble. You have to walk that fine line
between confidence and humility without you know, spilling it over.
It's spilling over into like arrogance or entitlement or something
like that.

Speaker 3 (27:56):
So yeah, you should listen to Nick Foles.

Speaker 1 (28:00):
He'd seen it all essentially in the NFL and been
to the mountaintop and also been in the valley, and
so yeah, he should have listened to him.

Speaker 3 (28:09):
If indeed this story is true, I'm rolling.

Speaker 6 (28:12):
With it as well.

Speaker 4 (28:13):
I don't know how it hurts you, Chris, to listen
to somebody has some experience, Like you don't have to
take it as gospel and listen to everything that Nick
Foles tells you. But why would you not want to
get some knowledge? And you're right this dude, go back.
I would just say, kid, you don't you know, you
don't have to listen to everything I said, but go
watch the Super Bowl game where Tom Brady do for

(28:36):
five hundred yards all right, and I won the game.

Speaker 6 (28:39):
Go look like like.

Speaker 1 (28:41):
Seriously, And I think he is a good guy to
give it vice, Rob, because, like I said, he's he's been,
you know, like goth to the mountaintop.

Speaker 3 (28:52):
Yes, he's been.

Speaker 1 (28:53):
He's been where Justin is now like struggling and not
you know, maybe even not getting the greatest opportunity unities,
people being down on him.

Speaker 3 (29:02):
So I think I would think he could give him
some good advice.

Speaker 13 (29:06):
Troller rolling a couple of Fox Sports Radio that he
were missing Jimmy Butler, the Cavaliers miss Donovan Mental last
game and Jared Allen for most of the series. The
Knicks are missing og and Anobi and the Pacers while
they're still whole. They were a six seed rolling with
the Eastern Conference to the way it is, the Boston

(29:29):
Celtics have to make it to the finals.

Speaker 3 (29:32):
Oh, I'm totally rolling with that.

Speaker 1 (29:34):
They see me, Head should roll, Let's keep it, let's
stay with the theme.

Speaker 3 (29:40):
Head should roll.

Speaker 1 (29:41):
If they don't win the East, I mean, if you
don't win the East this year, I mean, come on,
something's wrong.

Speaker 6 (29:48):
I'm rolling with it as well. I mean, it's lined
up for him. It can't be any easier, right, it
can't be any easier.

Speaker 4 (29:54):
So I'm with you, Chris. This is one of those
that is a layup? Is that the right term?

Speaker 6 (30:00):
I'm just just a layout.

Speaker 4 (30:01):
And you gotta be able to take advantage of the
path in front of you. And there's nobody blocking you.
Nobody's stopping you from getting to the NBA Finals.

Speaker 5 (30:14):
It's normal.

Speaker 13 (30:16):
But from Boston it's a three pointer.

Speaker 6 (30:18):
Yeah, you're right there.

Speaker 4 (30:19):
You go.

Speaker 3 (30:20):
Nice.

Speaker 1 (30:22):
You can hear more witty bancher like that from Martin
Weiss on the Martin VJ Show every Saturday, five Day.

Speaker 3 (30:31):
Martin VJ Show. Chris, sorry, Martin, great stuff, man, Thank
you all right?

Speaker 13 (30:38):
Bill.

Speaker 1 (30:39):
Rob We said yesterday that Reggie Miller would deny that
he was talking about Lebron told you that by else,
and boy did he.

Speaker 3 (30:48):
That's next a couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (30:51):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Foxsports Radio
dot com and within the Eye radio app search FSR
to listen live.

Speaker 3 (31:03):
All right, it's the odd couple.

Speaker 1 (31:04):
Chris and Rob We are live from the tie right
dot com studios. Listen shortly after our show the podcast
goes up, So if you've missed any of today's show,
just check out the pod. Search I Couple wherever you
get your podcasts, and also follow, rate and review our podcast. Again,
search odd Couple wherever you get your podcasts, and you
will see today's show. Post it right after we get

(31:26):
off the air. All right, Rob, we said it. Reggie
Miller made some comments during the playoff game recently that
seemed to only be able to point to Lebron James,
and he's denied it.

Speaker 3 (31:42):
So here here's the sound during the playoff game.

Speaker 6 (31:45):
We've got some veteran status in our games.

Speaker 12 (31:48):
A lot of people's about with Russ Moore, the like
to deflect and point.

Speaker 3 (31:53):
Fingers that other. Here's a twenty two year old saying
this is all I get some mic.

Speaker 6 (31:57):
Fat all right.

Speaker 1 (31:59):
And here most people said, or almost everybody said, he's
obviously talking about Lebron. But here he was today on
the Dan Patrick so saying he wasn't talking about Lebron.

Speaker 7 (32:11):
I'm talking taking a shot in general.

Speaker 12 (32:14):
I'm trying to give credit and creed to a twenty
year old twenty two year old, because I want to
put myself in his shoots, right, And I remember when
I was twenty one twenty two. I don't know if
I could have gotten in front of a camera with
the world watching and said this is on me. And
I know a lot of people want to think and

(32:34):
assume it's Lebron I'm taking shots at because look, I've
been in those locker rooms when certain veterans shy away
from that, and it's quick to always pile on Lebron.

Speaker 3 (32:47):
If it was Lebron, I would have said Lebron James.

Speaker 10 (32:49):
But you said current players Mount Rushmore.

Speaker 3 (32:52):
So you just assume it's Lebron.

Speaker 10 (32:55):
Well, who else is it going to be? It could
only be Katie or Steph. Those are the only possible
guys who could be on the current mount current Mount Rushmore.

Speaker 3 (33:07):
It's more so.

Speaker 10 (33:08):
But you gave ant Man credit, which I'm fine with.
You just brought in another portion when you said the
current Mount Rushmore.

Speaker 6 (33:19):
All right, right, thank you, Dan Patrick, Dan, do your job.

Speaker 3 (33:23):
He roly was about five minutes of the back and
forth on that.

Speaker 4 (33:26):
He didn't know that's the right thing, because Dan is
a reporter, Chris and knows how to interview people. You
cannot let Reggie Slade, I wasn't talking about Labron, no,
and and I didn't hear the whole thing.

Speaker 6 (33:39):
He could have said, who were you talking about?

Speaker 3 (33:42):
No head, he did like he pushed me.

Speaker 1 (33:45):
Okay, I mean that wasn't That was about half of
their exchange, maybe not even half.

Speaker 3 (33:51):
And Reggie ultimately never said.

Speaker 4 (33:54):
Who he was talking about, said he wasn't talking about
anybody specific. But when you say current on Mount Rushmore.

Speaker 3 (34:01):
Right, if he had said there are veterans in.

Speaker 4 (34:04):
This veterans who will hide from the media and won't
talk or blame everybody, you believe it at that open
ended that could be anybody, right, A lot of.

Speaker 3 (34:12):
People still would have assumed Lebron.

Speaker 1 (34:15):
They probably would have thought he was talking about Durant too,
right because of the.

Speaker 3 (34:21):
But they wouldn't have known like you wouldn't have been.

Speaker 1 (34:24):
Like Reggie could have really been able to deny it
and say, look, I was talking in general, and that
would have made sense. But when you say Mount Rushmore,
that's not general, right, there can only there's only four
people on Mount Rushmore. And I actually think Dan Patrick,
I don't. Dan seemed to take it like Reggie was

(34:45):
saying whatever the current Mount Rushmore, right, So like that
would be I guess what Lebron, Durant, Steph and whoever
you want to go on the fourth, But I don't
I don't think he meant current. I think Mount Rushmore period,
there's only one guy, Steph possibly if people wanted to

(35:06):
put him on there, right, because he.

Speaker 6 (35:08):
Changed the game with it's on and Steph.

Speaker 1 (35:11):
Yeah, Steph has no history whatsoever of like doing that.

Speaker 3 (35:17):
There's no way you're talking about it.

Speaker 4 (35:18):
And Lebron was in the nudes with the with the
coaching firing and all like it. Just I mean, he
absolutely was talking about I'm glad that that Dan asked him,
you know what I mean, like them one.

Speaker 1 (35:29):
I mean, look, I think Reggie Rob sometimes and Reggie
obviously was a player for a long time, and you know,
dealt with the media, but sometimes Rob guys forget how.

Speaker 3 (35:44):
Big something anything you say can become.

Speaker 1 (35:48):
Right, And I really feel like Rob, I feel like
he was definitely talking about Lebron, and I think he
didn't for whatever reason, didn't know how big it was
going to become. And I think he was almost almost forgetting.
I don't know, I want to say forgetting where he was.

Speaker 3 (36:08):
But you know, like I don't.

Speaker 1 (36:10):
Think he would publicly take a shot at Lebron like that,
but he he did. He did, and I don't I
don't know how to explain it. But there's no way
he was talking about anybody else.

Speaker 4 (36:23):
This, This is what I was. This is why I
brought up to think Chris about Will Bond and now Reggie,
and just like.

Speaker 6 (36:30):
These things, Reggie's denying it.

Speaker 3 (36:32):
That's the thing.

Speaker 4 (36:34):
I know, because you get called out, you slipped something in,
you think no one's gonna I just don't know what
they're thinking, like suriously.

Speaker 1 (36:41):
But don't you agree, Like I don't think he I mean,
he clearly meant Lebron, But I just I don't know,
Rob g what you you think? I mean, I don't know.
I just think maybe he didn't think it was going
to be a big thing. He really didn't, and when
it became big, he he didn't want.

Speaker 4 (36:59):
You're a I mean, Rob gu Lebron slappy gosh, you're
talking about well we.

Speaker 7 (37:06):
All Reggie Miller just doesn't want the smoke. He has
this you know persona that he's just a happy, gold
lucky guy who's so excited to be there and it's
all sunshines and rainbow. And then he really says unless
the intrusive thoughts win for just a second, and rather
than stand by his comments, he tried to run away
from like if I'm gonna say it's nice to have

(37:26):
a real comedian on the show every once in a while,
because there's other guys who aren't that funny.

Speaker 3 (37:32):
You're talking about.

Speaker 7 (37:34):
I was just talking in general, like, no, no, I'm
not talking about Rob.

Speaker 1 (37:37):
If Robi comes on the show, it says, I mean,
you know, we got sometimes we got like let's say
you're off Rob and me and me and Rob g
are doing the show, and he says, you know, Chris,
sometimes you got people in the Eye Couple. Some of
the hosts on the Eye Couple think they're hilarious when
they really aren't talking about right and there Rob's he denies,

(38:00):
I was just talking in general.

Speaker 3 (38:02):
I mean you just Reggie.

Speaker 1 (38:07):
Also, guys could have come out and just say, you
know what, Look, I made a mistake, you know, I
I I was just kind of talking in general terms,
and I said some things I didn't mean. I mean,
even something like that, Rob would have been a little
anything other than he wasn't.

Speaker 3 (38:26):
Talking about Lebron because that's just talking in general.

Speaker 6 (38:30):
