(01:18):
here in about thirty minutes or so. And last call,
by the way, that robson you was pick it off
for of course not NFL can pick up.

Speaker 3 (01:25):
I'll be picking for him. Are you really you need
to go five and zero, one and four?

Speaker 1 (01:30):
That's why I said, I don't know. I'd rather you. Well,
you be wrong a lot.

Speaker 3 (01:33):
Yeah, No, I've been really bad this year picking games.
I mean not worse than Rob. Rob was so bad
he had to restart. That's not even talking about it.
You know who's you know who?

Speaker 1 (01:41):
You know the off the ice cream brand and mister softy.
Yes it's Elijah. Elijah, Elijah to night, Elijah. I need
you to put your foot.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
Down with Rob.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
Sometimes you'd be like, no, okay, no, Elijah, start can
you make me a new low Goodes since zero and zero?

Speaker 3 (01:56):
Now you ain't zero and zero? Eijah?

Speaker 4 (01:57):
Oh God, Elijah, we got to chain so I know
you got a little one home.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
I know, I know it's two am, and your wife
is looking at like, what's her name? Me at the
South Coast Louisiana Tech Mall and I'm the hundred shoppers.
So if you could just make me a graphic.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
Send this graphic over, I'll send you a picture right,
and it'll say Rob is right. Hey, Hey, I have
to look so hard for it, Rob g But oh wait,
it's right here, Rob.

Speaker 4 (02:20):
Look at your phone. I just found this article about me.
I don't even know where it came from. I just said,
where was it? Oh, it just happened to find this
nineteen ninety four article I wrote. God, I love Rob
Parker though, you gotta love it. It's one of a
con man.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
He really is. And I blame you, Elijah. Stop being
missing softy over there? Elia, Can you say no, no?

Speaker 3 (02:41):
Rob? All right, it's not just for the show. It's
also famous, bro, and it makes sense.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
Come on right, all right, we're fugetting in as we're
joking on a congrast to Rob.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
For those who don't know, he's a huge accomplishment.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
Yeah's getting honored tomorrow at Southern Louisiana Baptist Connecticut University.
He's gonna be honored honored his alma monitors honored him
and name of the press box after him.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
That is really dope.

Speaker 1 (03:06):
So shout out to him and all his family and
friends are going to be there for the honor.

Speaker 3 (03:10):
I thought it was dope.

Speaker 1 (03:10):
He said all three of his grand god children to
be there for the first time, having them all together,
that's pretty dope as well. And last last call coming up.
We've been stingy.

Speaker 3 (03:19):
I just realized that, yes, we ain't talked to nobody.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
Yeah, you know, they get mad and they robbed you. Oh,
it ain't the same when Rob's up there the phone line.
Then Rob's gonna come back and tell us where the
most listen to friendly phone call taking his.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
Gee And now hour one on Monday, we're gonna do
two segments of calls, all calls because you guys didn't
take calls on Friday. Anything on the youtubeians while check
it out. I mean there's people taking shots at me
because you know, Alex already uploaded hour one like whatever,
Bro saying he gets it done fast. I guess, so
it's not fair. I don't like that, and he did.

(03:53):
This is my favorite one. I mean, we're talking about Rob.
So the prudent student comments, Rob has money and dressed
like he's like a homeless person. Crazy. Wait Rob, you Rob, Rob,
Rob Parker, because I don't got no money? Wait what
was the wait? Where did he did he see? Robb?
You just have no idea. We're not even talking about Rob.
We're talking about he just felt the need to say that.
This is just something I got to get off my

(04:13):
chest here.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
I mean Rob, listen, Rob. You know he has his
moments when he gets fly every now and again.

Speaker 3 (04:20):
You know what I mean. But the thing is, even
when he dresses down, it's all high end. That's true.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
So that might not know that it's a really nice
hoodie pulled over dredge. Y'all give him that like like
he might have caught the lick for eight ninety nine,
and Rob probably did.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
But like for us common folks, if we're wearing sweatpants somewhere,
it's it's like Target or you know, you got some
Costco brand or whatever. No Rob got the Jordan brand
or got the Gucci sweatpants. And you know there a
happy medium. That's me. Yeah, yes, I'm in a happy medium. Yeah,
it comes to close because I'm an ordinary African student
I keep trying to tell you that you don't want

(04:55):
to listen to me. All right, let's get into this
college football.

Speaker 1 (04:59):
We know has been some changes, rob Gie over the
last few years in al players being able to transfer
and all that. And Lane Kiffin, who's by the way,
has there been a guy that has failed up more
than him? I mean, he's like I was down and
up and he's just a guy that just keeps getting
opportunities in alley oops. I mean, there's so many other

(05:20):
people that I would consider here with the remainder of
this show and name guys that get their big start
and everybody's excited for him and then you know, maybe
doesn't go well and we never hear from m again. Boy,
lane Kiffin can just keep popping up. But so credit
to him for.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
Well, he's one of those weird guys where he's failed
a lot, yes, but he's also a good football coach.
So it's kind of like an oxy moron, I guess
where it's like, how do you keep failing up but
you're also good at your job? Like, I don't know
how that if that makes sense in my mind.

Speaker 1 (05:49):
It's because sometimes the opportunity might have been too big
for him.

Speaker 3 (05:54):
Sure, Josh McDaniels. Yes, that is a great example.

Speaker 1 (05:59):
Josh McDaniels is your offensive coordinator, got a good quarterback
and you go to boom killing it. Josh McDaniels, lead
our franchise and run this organization. Ah, not so good
and so therein lies it. Uh, you know this situation
where but he has some say some things to say
about dynasties and he's basically saying Nick Saban and what
was happening in Alabama ain't happening no more definitely.

Speaker 3 (06:22):
Cortne lane Kiff and he's now he's doing some promo
I believe for some like E sixty feature they're doing
on him. But WHI japarent is gonna be really good
off to check it out. But he was talking specifically
about the SEC, and what he said was since they've
added Oklahoma and Texas, and since they've decided they're going
to be adding that ninth conference game starting next season
we talked about here on the show, couple that with

(06:44):
the nil rules and the transfer portal. He's saying that
dynasties are officially over, specifically in the SEC. That no
matter what you think about five years ago, ten years ago.
You know what Kirby Smart's currently doing at Georgia, what
Nick Saban did before at Alabama. You're not going to
see that anymore. That's what Lane Kiffen thinks.

Speaker 1 (07:04):
Huh well, I actually that was just making fun of
him a little bit. How he's you know, kind of
failed up. I agree for the most part.

Speaker 5 (07:12):
Here.

Speaker 1 (07:12):
Here's why I agree more than anything, more than I
get his point about the games now, right, because you
used to be able to sneak away.

Speaker 3 (07:19):
Okay, we're only gonna play three or four.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
Now you're playing all these big time teams in your
own conference, and you're playing schools in Oklahoma and Texas
that weren't normally there, and maybe you only have to
play one of them, right, you know, but that's still
one more tough team, one more tough team. But here's why,
here's why I hear his point and I understand what
he's saying. But I'll say this because more than anything,
to me, rob G, it's the transfer kids nowadays. Alabama

(07:46):
was a factory. They had. Remember how many running backs
they had it It just got it was all of them.
They had every running back that went into the NFL. Now,
whether they were ended up being good at great in
the NFL was different, But you know how many defensive
backs and linebackers they had. You might not even really
get to play until your junior year. Right, I'll get
me as a freshman. I'm playing a little bit sparingly
my sophomore year, and I think now kids are like,

(08:08):
the minute it ain't going that way, I'm out. The
minute you Oh, I don't like that. He told me
I couldn't play. Oh, he told me he's gonna pick up.
I'm out. And that's the one issue I've had. And
you've heard me say, what the transfer portal. It's not
so much the transfer ring that doesn't bother me. It's
the ideology of if things ain't going my way, I'm out.

(08:30):
If I don't get the reps I want, I'm out.
And I don't like that because that's not to me,
necessarily applicable to life, like that's not how life always works.
Sometimes the best scenario for you was you stayed there,
you went through the fire, you push through, and now
you're starting your senior year. But you now good you are,
how locked in and how ready you are right because

(08:50):
you went through it all and now you start these
thirteen games and you end up being a top twenty
five pick because you were amazing and you were ready,
and you were focused, and you were at the best
tutelage and teaching and mentoring, you know what I mean,
and you played the best of the best of the best. Now,
guys are leaving great situations, great schools, great teams to
go to some other middling school because I could be

(09:11):
the man there and and it's like, Okay, you're the
man there, but they're not that great. You're not that great.
And it looks like you're great because you might be
the best, you know, player there, but you're not playing
the best competition. And I just feel as though that's
leaving where guys were comfortable being the second string, third
string at Miami during the early two thousands. You hear
those teams were insane. Ye they're tight ends. You had

(09:33):
Jeremy Shockey as a backup or was he starting? But
because you had Kells was the backup like you just
had you know how, me backup receivers and backup safeties.

Speaker 3 (09:42):
Clinton port Is, Will McGahee, Frank Gore, Frank Gore.

Speaker 1 (09:47):
Dude what and guys waited their turn because they're like,
I'm playing the best of the best of the best
of them.

Speaker 5 (09:53):
You know.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
Look, they used to say that all the time with
those teams. You know why Saturdays were easy for us.
Look who our practice against everybody? Devin Hester like all
these guys are and if Jonathan bil but like absurd.

Speaker 3 (10:04):
My point is you play with real guys.

Speaker 1 (10:07):
I think kids nowadays are gonna sometimes sometimes not all
just take the easy way out. And so therefore your
roster is not gonna be as stacked as it used
to be. Where I'm just no, you think that's the
best linebacker? Wait, you see this kid that's coming up
in a year two, because that kid's gonna be mad.

Speaker 3 (10:20):
I'm gonna go there. Now. Everything you said is accurate.
And that's precisely why I disagree with you. Okay, because
ni Allen and trash reportal even more so than the
scheduling with the nineteens and Texas got what he was saying,
even more so than that. The portal and the NIL
has changed college football in a way that for me,

(10:42):
it's worse because I kind of missed the pageantry of
a football and and and you know you mentioned it
like guys being there you grow with then and you
saw guys a freshman when he became as a senior in
the development that kind of stuff. But now that ni
Alan and trauch reportal is here. You couple that with
the expansion of the college football playoff, and I think

(11:03):
dynasty are gonna be easier to come by now than
they were before, specifically because you can lose three or
four games and still get in the playoff. So if
you are a team like we're talking about the Alabama
team that was loaded where you mentioned twenty thirteen, look
at this Dereck Henry, Alvin Kamara, TJ. Yelled, and KINGE.
Drake on the same backfield. Now, some of those guys

(11:24):
hadn't played that transfer, but they were all on the
team at one point in running back room. If you
lost two games in twenty thirteen, you were done. You
had no chance of winning a championship. And that's what
made Nick Saban's run so damn impressive, because if they
lose one game, like, hey, we got to run the
table here. If we run the table and we lose

(11:44):
one game in the SEC Championship, gip, we may not
get in. We gotta be honest to that we got
to be cognizant because there's gonna be a Pac twelve
team that might run the table. In a lesser conference,
we might have a Big ten team who lost early
instead of late, and suddenly they're in the championship game. Well, now,
you who can lose three or four games and still
be in the mix. That's number one. Number two. Even

(12:05):
though we kind of agree and it's generally accepted that
the big time programs were still paying guys allegedly under
the table, whether it's actual cash or it's Hey, I
don't know if you looked into this, but Alabama's entire
defensive backfield all got corvettes. I don't know how that happened,
but they must got a great salesman down there that's
getting these guys eat these cars or whatever it is.

(12:28):
Before it was under the table and it was just
kind of assumed, and you know it was happening, we
didn't really know. But now we know that if you
are Ohio State and last year I think they had
a twenty million dollar roster, that if they want to
invest twenty million dollars annually moving forward, they are gonna
have one of the best teams in football. Without even
factoring in what the coach looks like, without factoring in

(12:50):
your experience level, without factoring any of that stuff in,
We're just gonna have top to bottom one of the
best rosters. Even if the next year one of those
guys trash, we're gonna buy another guy to replace them.
So that's why I believe when you have so much
freedom of movement and you have the expanded playoff, you
can run off three, four or five championships because you
can reload in a way that was easier now than

(13:12):
ever before, and you can afford to trick games away
in September October that you couldn't do five six years ago.

Speaker 1 (13:20):
Everything you said makes sense, but I'll also add another
little caveat.

Speaker 3 (13:23):
While I'll push back, I think.

Speaker 1 (13:27):
You know what happens when money, and too much of
it gets involved, the desire to win goes away. It's
the reason why people feel there's a conflict between NBA
players now and then back in the day because for
those guys, a lot of it. Yeah, we getting paid
respect relative to the average American in nineteen eighty seven.

(13:49):
We're making good money, but we're not getting crazy money.
It's not a huge far Bill Lambert said it like this.
Bill Lambert said, my dad made more money than I
made as a profession because that you know, that had
a good business. And he was like, that's how you
know the hard press make more than you. That you
know your dad to make more than you now, even
if you're middling player in the NBA, because the money
is so high, sure, and it changes the game, and

(14:10):
there's a little bit of you that's like winning matters.

Speaker 3 (14:14):
But money's good.

Speaker 1 (14:16):
And now I'll start giving seventeen, eighteen, nineteen twenty year
olds a bunch of money that they can flaunt now
to be iceed out and we can leave.

Speaker 3 (14:22):
They can be out and about anymore. Man, I hear
what you're saying.

Speaker 1 (14:26):
I could just go buy some player, man, but they
offer me more over there, or I can go over
there and stunt and shine.

Speaker 3 (14:32):
I just think.

Speaker 1 (14:34):
The simply going to Alabama, Texas, Ohio State. Yeah, they
might throw me a little bit here, but it's more
about I want to be there and win. But those
teams are going to be in the mix every year.
And what I'm saying is, I think it's leaving. The
pure thing about winning is leaving. And so therefore the
idea of sticking around and doing this and be but
I think it turns more into a me me, me

(14:55):
me versus the you know, the big Alabama, Michigan, Ohio state.
And I could be wrong. Once you start putting a
lot of money this kid. Yes they were getting handshakes
back in the day that might have had a little
something in the below. And yes maybe one or two
guys were getting take care of on a large level.
But now you got so many kids, and you know
this living out in southern California, man, trust me and

(15:16):
working from news organization, These kids in high school and
high school are pulling up in crazy cars, souped up
hell cats, souped up as you mentioned, corvettes.

Speaker 3 (15:27):
All got time. Go to a modern day game, go
to go to a Bosco game.

Speaker 1 (15:30):
Man, you pull and you know, I donna feel real
broke when you pocket kids. All right now, and the
Nico talk to my bosses and get some more money,
cause what the heck is going on this kid?

Speaker 3 (15:42):
And so my point, I just feel like it was
a shame to drive his old kids. You have the
new car and he takes the girls to do the school.
I drop him off to school. I got I gotta
fit in. We're wearing the new car today, but it's
blocked in. Then y'all ain't going to school today.

Speaker 1 (15:54):
No, but I just feel like the money is so
crazy now, and just I just I could be wrong,
but it's the idea of just simply winning doesn't necessarily
ring off as much as I feel like it used to,
and that could be wrong.

Speaker 3 (16:08):
No, I understand what you're saying. Where I think, I
guess my only pushback to that would be is I
could absolutely see that line of thinking taking place with
all the five star guys. The guys who have been,
to your point, been getting paid since they were freshmen
in high school. Right, so their starting negotiation rate as
an incoming freshman is like two million dollars, right, Like, No,
that's what I need. I've already getten five hundred grand

(16:30):
in Texas as a junior, So no, I can't be
taking anything less than whatever it is. But where you're
seeing a lot of these teams do now, and we
saw that again Ohio State last year. They probably could
have gotten another five star freshmen to come in and
be an impact player for the next two three four years.
Where they said no is we're gonna play for one year.
Will Howard, he's already established, he's already you know, had

(16:53):
some success. And I'm not saying we're gona get him
at a discount, but he's a guy who's also gonnoll.
You the idea of hey, I'm playing now at Ohio State. Yep, Hey,
I got a chance to play for a chat like
Kadsas State was cool and we were pretty good and
we made some noise. But this is like different, and
I think that's where you're gonna see it.

Speaker 1 (17:11):
Collect that and we're seen in college basketball, yes, where
they're just going to get other guys instead of getting
this nice shiny freshman.

Speaker 3 (17:17):
We when you get the whole date in year of
ro Man, it looked like he went to high school.

Speaker 1 (17:22):
Rob and Kelvin that's right, let's bring him in all right?
Uh shit, open enough? God, people, feeling like I ain't
heard from you all day? If you would like to
jump in on this A seven seven ninety nine on Fox,
jump in on there you seeing this? Or is the
Dynasty's gone in college football? Eight seven seven ninety nine
on Fox. Uh, we'll hear from you next. It is

We got Lamar Mitchell bet MGM in a few minutes

(18:21):
here talk some uh some lines with him in just
a moment.

Speaker 3 (18:24):
Also, last call coming up in a little bit.

Speaker 1 (18:27):
And as always, don't forget to check out the brand

(18:47):
from you in the Odd Mob. As always, so go
search odd couple FSR and then subscribe for us as well.
We'll take a couple of calls real quick. Let's see
what we're talking about. One of the things we were
talking about was uh Kiffin essentially saying he believes dynasty's
are gonna be dead in college football.

Speaker 3 (19:03):
I'm lean more towards him.

Speaker 1 (19:05):
Rob g disagrees eight seven to seven ninety nine on
Foxy's take Anthony and Spookane Spokane, Anthony's spook canne. That
sounded crazy, Spokane. What's up by the old couple there?

Speaker 6 (19:19):
How do you guys doing doing well?

Speaker 3 (19:20):
Man doing well? Thank you? Ay?

Speaker 6 (19:23):
So I agree dynasties are done if you think about it.
Let's say, example of Texas, we all know is not
going to make the playoffs this year without arts playing.
So let's say, for example, you make it. You gotta
win your conference championship and then not one, two, three,
possibly four games in a row, where before it was

(19:43):
just conference championship championship.

Speaker 3 (19:47):
As you can only lose one game in the previous
form two now you can lose three or four games
still get.

Speaker 5 (19:52):
In you go.

Speaker 1 (19:53):
He said, you got to be in the playoffs, so
you gotta win multiple games.

Speaker 3 (19:56):
That's what he said. I get what.

Speaker 1 (19:58):
I get what you're saying, Anthony, appreciate the call. Now,
that's what you say. It's more difficult now, right, It's
like marsh Madaw. You've got to run four, five, six
to get through that thing. Let's go to Dre in Massachusetts. Dre,
you're all with the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 7 (20:09):
What's up, Drehi, how you doing?

Speaker 5 (20:11):
Thanks for taking a call.

Speaker 7 (20:13):
It should be hard to win a Natty, so you
know four or five games that it should be a
perilous journey. I'm up the mind that we're still going
to have dynasties in college sports just because you got
to follow the money, right. The blue bloods have always
been there right now, nil, you know, we can it's
a different iteration, okay, But there's always been those institutions,

(20:33):
those schools that have been willing to spend what it takes,
you know, and to go to whatever length it takes
to put a competitive team on the field. And I
don't think that's going to change in of itself just
because of this the new and I I do feel
we've opened Pandora's box, right because I don't know if
you need a sixteen year old kid making five hundred
thousand dollars a year, you know, and we already have

(20:54):
problems at the pro level in terms of too much
of a good thing not being a good thing. So
I think that is where we we're gonna have the dynasties.
The sport will go on, okay, but this unfettered professionalism
going further and further down and use sports. We need
to look at that and we need to do a
better job.

Speaker 5 (21:11):
Thanks taking a.

Speaker 1 (21:12):
Call, no doubt, dre appreciate it as always, Man, I
just go back. The money is definitely a thing, for sure,
but also to me again, I just feel like this
transfer thing, it's a really play a role in it
where you just don't know what you got it's gonna be.
Or maybe you're right, maybe it's just hit man for
hire and this just one year, let's just see what
we got it. I would love to be a hit mapp,
you would actually, because I can't believe you ays you
and Alex asked that crazy question once.

Speaker 3 (21:33):
Four million dollars? What is going on in this question?
We only ask good questions Behind the glass.

Speaker 1 (21:40):
That side of the glass is crazy over there. I
thought sitting next to Rob was crazy. Y'all you guys
are crazy. Lamar Mitchell get ready to come up here
a better MGM Director of training before I low get
you what's set on your what's trending and your updates?

Speaker 8 (21:51):
Ilo, well, I thank you very much, guys. We'll start
with Major League Baseball. The Texas Rangers a short time
ago hiring Skip Schumachers their new manager. Schumacher previously managed
the Marlins for two seasons. He was actually named National
League Manager of the Year in twenty twenty three. In
the NFL, the Baltimore Ravens ruled out quarterback Lamar Jackson

(22:12):
for Sunday's game against Houston due to a hamstring injury.
Cooper Rush will start for one to three Baltimore. The
Washington Commanders confirmed the quarterback Jaden Daniels will start on
Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers after missing two games
with the spring knee. Chargers ruled out left tackle Joe
Alt and returner Darius Davis. They listed right guard Mackay

(22:32):
Beckton as questionable this evening prior to Game one of
the WNBA Finals between the Las Vegas Aces and Phoenix
Mercury WNBA Commissioner Kathy Engelbert was asked about Nafisa Collier's
allegation that Engelbert told her that Caitlin Clark should be
grateful she makes sixteen million dollars off the court, because

(22:53):
without the platform the WNBA gives her, she wouldn't make anything.
Here was Engelbert's response.

Speaker 9 (23:00):
I did not make those comments. Caitlin has been a
transformational player in this league. She's brought in tens of
millions of new fans to the game. But again, I'm
not going to get into every point counterpoint. It's not
productive here. But yeah, as I said, there's a lot
of inaccuracies reported out there, and I certainly did not
say that.

Speaker 8 (23:17):
As for the game itself, Phoenix leeds Las Vegas sixty
four to fifty seven, with three thirty six remaining in
the third quarter. Guys are yours alright?

Speaker 3 (23:26):
Lo, thank you man. I have a wonderful weekend. You
guys too. All right, it's Stiakava. Rob Parker is out.

Speaker 1 (23:30):
We got my man Robb g here, Kevin Washington with
you on the Fucky flash Back Friday, and we are
joined right now by our man yes Lamar Mitchell, Ben MGM,
director of Trading. We do this every week. We have Lamar,
what's going on? We're doing well? We sell Lamar, Yeah,

(23:52):
that's right, man, we're doing well. As always. Robb g
is in for Rob Parker. So we'll get this thing
started here in a minute. Are you we got what
we need?

Speaker 3 (24:00):
When I need? When I got absolutely Now, I'm just
gonna say real quick, I know we got the interview
going here. Yes, I'm a little bit bummed out that. Normally, again,
pulling the curtain back before these segments usually start, me
and Lamar get like five minutes of just checking you do,
which is great because you know, we talked about how
the family's doing, how work's going. I'm always asking about
traffic for some reason. I'm because you're an old man.
You're the oldest thirty whatever old you are, and I

(24:23):
know and so today gains so quickly before we get
the interview, Lamar, what's the construction like with the F
one and how bad is the traffic on the strip today?

Speaker 9 (24:30):
Rob?

Speaker 5 (24:31):
You know it's it's it's ugly. It's just nasty, that's
all I'm gonna say. It's nasty. F Point construction. Not
a not a fan not a fan.

Speaker 1 (24:40):
That's that's all won it. Yeah, I met you a yeah,
let me take you. I take the six ninety six,
so the five. Now you're an old man, robbed you.
All right, Let's get to a big story of the week.
Lamar has been the health of Lamar Jackson. Earlier in
the week, the Ravens were six and a half point
home favorites against Houston, and now that he's out, the
line has moved all the way to Ravens plus two
and a half. So that's a nine point swing right
there too. Part question for you, is any other quarterback

(25:02):
worth that many points in today's NFL?

Speaker 3 (25:05):
That's a great question there.

Speaker 1 (25:06):
And then what kind of action are you seeing on
Baltimore in this spot now that they're getting to and
a half.

Speaker 5 (25:12):
Yeah, there's a couple of quarterbacks you got to look at. Uh,
Josh Allen and Buffalo and Mahomes are probably worth that
swing in the UH with their teams if they were,
you know, listed as playing and then out. But really
it's it's been since you know, he was questionable, it's
been all it's been all Texans money. I mean really

(25:33):
all Texans money. It's about eight to one in favorite
of the Texans. Uh Ticke accounts small in the favor
of the Ravens two to one, but the Sharps the
shots are all all on the Texans.

Speaker 3 (25:42):
Early in the week, lamar, the Eagles passing offense is
a work in progress, right to put it lately, and
we have aj Brown in these passive aggressive it's just
been really awkward and everybody has, you know, some comments.
They don't know what's going on. And that's bad news
because this week they get the Bronx goes and their
defense ranks first in QBR sacks and their second in pressures.

(26:04):
So it's like the what is it the unmovable force, Like, yeah,
this is the opposite of that. Whatever, the easily movable,
easily stop force against the.

Speaker 1 (26:13):
If you don't stay the sports science, is not a
good matchup for them, right But any event, here's here's
the question, Uh, where are the Sharks in this game?

Speaker 3 (26:22):
Are they expecting the Broncos they are going to be
able to hand Philly that first loss?

Speaker 5 (26:26):
Oh? You know, Rob bu are all you're getting hot
because it's all the sharp money is on the Broncos.
This really looks like this is Joe's versus pros one
percent sharp money all on the Broncos taking those points.
They love those juicy points with the Broncos. And even
though the Eagles offense is a passing is working in

(26:48):
you know, working production passing, they still win. But the
Sharks are definitely on the Broncos and the Joe's are
definitely on the Eagles.

Speaker 1 (26:57):
Yeah, that's a tough one. I I might have to go.
I feel like at some point your luck runs out
a little bit with the Eagles. They've had some clothes
last year.

Speaker 3 (27:03):
Chiefs. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (27:04):
Yeah, that's a good point, and I would have been
getting burned to the tune of fifteen to two for them.

Speaker 3 (27:08):
All right, let's get to this.

Speaker 1 (27:09):
Well, the Viekigs host the Browns this Sunday in London,
and you got the debut of Dylan Gabriel for Cleveland,
so obviously Brown fans might be excited about that. It's
starting to think that the betters are and big believers
in the rookie because I see the total has dropped
all the way down to thirty six and a half
is by far the lowest number on the board. What
kind of action are you saying on this game? I mean,
that is incredibly low.

Speaker 5 (27:29):
Yeah, you're right, that is really really little on that
total if you look at it. We're looking at it's
been pretty split fifty to fifty as far as money.
But the betters are betting the total under the Sharps
haven't really done anything with that number yet. And to
your point about the Browns being on this team or

(27:51):
being in this game, the Sharps are definitely taking the
plus three and the plus three and a half on
this game here. So the sharps too, like dealing Great
Gabriel on the spot, but they're laying off the total.

Speaker 3 (28:02):
Lamar Mitchell, bet MGM, director of Trading here on the
odd couple, Lamar, the Dolphins will travel to Carolina this Sunday,
their first game without Tyreek Hill or that he's an injury.
And that's important because since the Dolphins got him in
twenty twenty two, three quarters of two his completions and
over eighty percent of receiver yards have gone to either

(28:23):
Tyreek Kill or Jalen Waddles. So it's really a two
man aerial attack. They're in Miami. I have to assume
with Tyreek out that the betters are all in on
Carolina as a one and a half went home dog right.

Speaker 5 (28:35):
You know what, if the shots are on Carolina, the
sharps are definitely on Carolina. They took the points early,
but the betters are still laying laying the Dolphins at
about a two to one clip as far as ticket transaction.
But the money's even split down the middle of this game,
so we'll see. You know, this is definitely one of
those games that we expect more money to come up later,

(28:58):
you know, on Sunday morning when the game starts, talk
about nine to nine thirty.

Speaker 1 (29:02):
Well, let's just go to this with ro I mean, lamar,
Lamar Mitchell, I get bet mgm our guests now in
the eye cuple Robin Kelvin on a fucky flashback Friday.
This is the easiest betting all the sports, Okay, in
the last two years it has been to bet against
Spencer Rather and the Aks not even call them the
Saints right now, the Anks, no matter who they're playing.
Rather is ozent ten outright in two and eight against

(29:23):
the spread as a starter. And yet I'm looking at
the board and I see the line has actually moved
from Saints to plus one and a half two Saints
favored by to this Sunday against the Giants.

Speaker 3 (29:31):
Are the betters usually buying in the New Orleans here?
What's going on?

Speaker 5 (29:35):
Oh? You know what this is? This is this might
be Spence Spencer's coming out party, because, like you said,
the number move from the other side all the way
to Saints minus two. The Sharps, they jumped on it immediately.
When we opened up Giants minus one and a half,
they took to one and a half, moved it all
the way around. The public knows on the Giants at
about two to one clips, and money is on the

(29:56):
Giants at about two to one clip. But that this sharp
money tells me thing. This might be Spencer Rattler's debut win.

Speaker 3 (30:04):
Okay, all right, crazy, Ain't nobody betting off Spencer Rattler?

Speaker 1 (30:07):
I mean, you act like this this Ain't they the
straight hand?

Speaker 3 (30:10):
As a guy who went one and four against the spread?
I think I know what I'm talking about, all right, Lamar.
I'm looking at the Boyd right now, and and the
one game that I just can't figure out at all
is the Cowboys and the Jets. Right now, if I'm
reading this correctly, most of the bets are on the
Cowboys minus two. And a half, but most of the
handle is on the Jets plus two and a half?

(30:33):
Can you make sense of that for me? And and
given that we only really care about the pros and
not the Joe's, just where are the sharps on this one?

Speaker 5 (30:41):
The sharps are on the Jets plus the we open
up two and a half and the shops took that,
took that right away. We're down a one and a half.
But ticket the Joe's definitely, the Joes are definitely on
the Cowboys on the money and the tickets. I don't
you know, it's it's one of those games where the
Cowboys looks phenomenal when that game gets the Packers and

(31:04):
the Jets and look so well. So the Joe's are
definitely on the Cowboys, but the sharps are definitely on
the Jet.

Speaker 3 (31:10):
Yeah. And Dallas is a public team, right, so I'd
assume you get that kind of bump there too.

Speaker 5 (31:13):
Yeah, public team.

Speaker 3 (31:16):
Hey, lamar, last one for me.

Speaker 1 (31:17):
The Lions are eleven and two against the spread as
road favorites since twenty twenty three, and this week they're
going off as ten and a half point row favorites
in Cincinnati. Given the Bengals, of course, have scored thirteen
points combined in their last two games. I have to
imagine that folks are gonna be Pros and the Joe's
are all over Detroit in this spot, right.

Speaker 5 (31:34):
Kelly, you have one percent correct. This is going to
be one of our biggest decisions for us because the
Pros steven all the way up to ten and a
half from eight and a half, and the and the
Joe's have been on that at a thirteen to one
ticket count and money is about two to one from
the Joe's. So yeah, it doesn't look pretty for the Bengals.
But you know, like we say, this is one of

(31:56):
those games where you know, the Bengals showed how poorly
they played last week week got called out, So we'll
see what happened, because we'll definitely meet him on Sunday.

Speaker 3 (32:04):
All right, Lamar, last one for me. It was confirmed
today that Jayden Daniels we make his return of the
field this Sunday when the Commanders face the Chargers. So
obviously that's a big boost for Washington. The only problem
is I'm looking at the board and since that news
was confirmed, it looks like the line's still pretty firm
Chargers minus three, So what kind of action are you seeing?
He's seen any movement at all since the Jade and

(32:26):
Daniels news has been locked.

Speaker 5 (32:27):
In, Robie, No, no movement on that news. It's been
the Shots and the pros, the Shots and the Joe's
I'm sorry on the Chargers consistently in this game. Seven
to one as far as money, and five to one
is ticke account so and the Shots laid the money,
they laid the price two and a half up to three.
So yeah, it's even though they announced Jade's coming back,

(32:52):
maybe he's not one hundred percent and the Chargers coming
out that sour sour sour defeat last week, so everyone
is on the Chargers here.

Speaker 3 (32:59):
All right? All right, man, there you have it. We
appreciate you as always, brother, Thanks Tomar.

Speaker 5 (33:04):
My fellows, have a great weekend.

Speaker 1 (33:05):
Thanks for having no doubt, Lamar Betchell bet MGM right there.

(34:06):

to it. Out of time for NFL Pickskin Pickoff.

Speaker 2 (34:13):
You ready to retire? The Odd Couple is gonna make
you rich gambling corruptions their pigskin pickoff.

Speaker 3 (34:22):
That's right, it is the NFL picks Now you see
you sit. Next week you see Robin picking NFL games
against the spread. Rob's not in, so I'll be picking
for them, okay, But in order to look for we
gotta look back. Last week, Rob Parker went two and three, Okay,
Cavin Washington goes three and two, So I'm up home
a three. You are up three games on the season
long win total, Rob Parker, as is the case with

(34:44):
Shekel City, well below five hundred eight and twelve, losing money.

Speaker 1 (34:48):
Every which way Possiblely, listen, I'm not gonna go too
much because for those of you who were here, my
first year started off hot, had a bad like three
four weeks for Robins like ten.

Speaker 3 (35:00):
So I'm gonna just say keep I'm feeling good. I'm
not gonna lie. I'm feeling like I I just totally
jix myself.

Speaker 1 (35:06):
But I'm feeling like I got this season under control,
like I got the vibes of the teams.

Speaker 3 (35:10):
I get it now. I really don't think you do.
But you eleven to nine on the season, which is
not bad. What am I on a season eleven and nine? Dang,
that's what Vegas got, statue. I know I would have won,
but I'm saying I thought I was killing it more
than that. Only eleven and nine. Your mind, man, I'm
really killing the game.

Speaker 1 (35:25):
You're like your twenty games, I thought, honestly, goodness, I
thought I was like thirteen and seven and.

Speaker 3 (35:30):
Then not to get deep in the minutia, but like
eleven and nine is just enough to be profitable? Yeah,
because he's like, fifty one percent is not enough to
make money because you're like the Vigan all this left.
You have to have fifty seven for you to be
talking about right there. Yeah, all right, So all right,
this week's games, the NFL Games against the Spread, Week five.
We start off and Jarley London. Okay, the Vikings three

(35:50):
and a half point technically road favorites against the Cleveland Browns,
dealing Gabriel's first start. Who do you got?

Speaker 1 (35:59):
I wonder if there's a Jackson Dart vibe to this
and that the Browns play well for Dylan Gabriel. But
I can't see the Vikings losing another one. Give me
the Vikings.

Speaker 3 (36:11):
I'm with the Vikings as well for one specific reason.
That is that they've been overseas now for two weeks yea,
so their body clock is more adjusted, I think than clu.

Speaker 1 (36:18):
I don't buy any of that me and my wife
getting a daughter about it. I don't buy out of it.
Out of whatever times on the man is where I am.
Let's go, okay, buy it at time zone, schmime zone.
It sound like a guy who ain't traveled nowhere?

Speaker 3 (36:28):
All right? What game number two, smack you with my
passport goes in Philly to take on the Eagles. At
the time of this, uh these lines when we did
it this morning and they moved. The Eagles were four
point home favors against Denver. Who do you like now?
This one is tough. Give me Denver. Ah. I like

(36:50):
Denver too. I don't know if I like them to
win the game, but I think they can keep them
within a few people to the field goal. Yeah, I
mean Eagles. That's what they've been doing.

Speaker 1 (36:57):
They've some of these games they're fortunate to come out
with the victory.

Speaker 3 (37:01):
So watch just be the game.

Speaker 1 (37:02):
AJ Brown catches twelve receptions one hundred eightyrs.

Speaker 3 (37:05):
It ain't happening. Those days are over all right, it
ain't never happening. NFL pick off NFL game is against
the spread, Week five in the NFL. This one's tough.
The Houston, Texans now two and a half point road
favorites in Baltimore to take on Cooper Rush, not Lamar
Jackson and the Baltimore race. Baltimore, everybody's hurt. Who do

(37:25):
you like here?

Speaker 1 (37:26):
I think this is where we're different because I think
you're gonna pick the Ravens. I'm giving going Texans because
I think they think they're coming off of win, they're
feeling all right, and I think they also realized that
they thank God, we get to play the Baltimore defense,
which is terrible, and their defense is good, So I
mean they might be able to force Cooper Russia to
a turnover too.

Speaker 3 (37:43):
So yeah, give me the Texans. Now, I'm taking the
Ravens plus the two and a half. I don't feel
great about it, but if I were to really bet
on this game, give me the under all day long? Yeah,
what do we know? I don't. I'm out with it is.
But whatever it like, I don't even go low enough
for me to be like, oh, I don't know if
I'll take that one.

Speaker 1 (37:59):
That's a good point because Texans don't score, and the
Ravens look bad whenever they don't have it and they.

Speaker 3 (38:04):
Can't score like, like, it's just one of those situations.
So the total in this game, quickly looking it up,
it opened at forty seven, it's now down a forty
and a half. So other people were like, yeah, bro,
this is gonna be one of those game. Yeah seventeen fourteen,
you know, like, yeah, I might take that under two.
It just it's tough. The next game, number four, the

(38:24):
Tampa Bay Buccaneers Baker Mayfield and the Boys taking on
Sam Donald, which is Baker two point zero in Seattle
Seahawks three and a half point home favorites. Do do you like?

Speaker 1 (38:34):
I still don't know how I feel about Seattle right now,
Like I don't know how good they are, Like are
they good or not?

Speaker 3 (38:38):
This one's torn right now.

Speaker 1 (38:40):
But I'm gonna roll with Seattle and somehow this NFC
West got a couple of teams at a four and
one after this win by Seattle.

Speaker 3 (38:46):
Yep, who you got? I like Seattle too, But I
do I like them because of their defense. Yeah, Sam
Donald's been fine, but their defense as long as he
doesn't cost him, has been lights out. They're good them
in Cleveland, bestwe defense in the league. Last one Commanders
at the Chargers do you say who? So I said
Cleveland and Cleveland because I'm saying the Lions put up
a big piece, so I couldn't hear whatever. All right,
quickly come mad is at the charge of Jaydon Daniels's

(39:08):
back charges three point home favorites. That what you like?
Charg us me, charge us, go charge us?

Speaker 1 (39:13):
All right, So I think we picked one difference, So
I'll be up one on Rob thank you to that,
and he'll blame his body. Was gonna blame all his
losses on you too as well. Enjoying the weekend, have
a great time, bunch of goods, football and baseball.

Speaker 3 (39:26):
The Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon is coming up next.

Speaker 2 (39:29):
I never miss your radio show.

Speaker 5 (39:31):
I never hear it, so I never miss it.

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
