Falcons Pro Bowl running back. He joins us in about
twenty eight minutes. You don't want to miss that, doing
a lot of great work for the Boys and Girls Club,
big great buther sisters, yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
Big brothers, big sisters. I'm sorry. And of course last
call as well coming out. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:54):
Absolutely, And by the way too, man, we get waiting
on it release of Who's Gonna Be in the Hall
of Fame? Looking forward to that coming up here in
just a little bits right across the street too, so
we should be finding that stuff out and just a
little bit looking forward to that as well. It's gonna
be interesting because we were just going over some.

Speaker 5 (02:13):
Of the lists there.

Speaker 4 (02:14):
This is what makes it obviously, when you're talking and
you would know being a Hall of Fame boat for
the Major League Baseball, it's so tough because so many
people are so good, they're so talented, but you're like, man,
you know, are they Hall of Fame worthy? And it's
almost becomes okay, but I say that person is, then
this other person has to be right. One of the

(02:34):
things I was listening around just kind of the conversations
people are having throughout the day.

Speaker 5 (02:38):
It's interesting.

Speaker 4 (02:39):
Usually we make fun of kickers and special team guys,
but Adam vinet Terry, who's on those lists, he seems
to me.

Speaker 6 (02:44):
To be one of the ones, if not really the
only one.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
I'm here.

Speaker 4 (02:47):
Most people say, oh, he's first bound, he needs to
be in. And it's funny because usually don't have that
perspective or that, you know, that feel for a kicker,
and so I don't know, seriod.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
So big though, in the first three Super Bowl you know,
with Tom Brady and the Patriots, if he misses one
or two like Buffalo right, like that first miss field goal,
and the first four Super Bowls that the Bills went to,
it changes their whole history. People on talking about Tom
Brady if he missed a couple of those must win

(03:20):
games in the Super Bowl with field goals, it's a
big part of it. Adam vanent Terio is one of
the best kickers, and that's why you gotta have players
like that in order to win big games. It's like
in baseball, I don't care the Yankees with all the
players have. If they didn't have Mariano Rivera, they won won,
they won't have won five Worlds.

Speaker 4 (03:39):
So and you also go back to Vinetaria. I mean
he then he goes and he gets busy with the
Colts as well. You know, he has a great career
with them. So it's interesting. He's like the one player
that I'm hearing because you got you know, Treil Suggs.

Speaker 6 (03:54):
I could make a case for I could make a kiss.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
Everybody can't be on Hall of Fame, but this is
what I.

Speaker 1 (04:01):
Just like, like, there are a lot of people who
are very good and if you got to get into
some big debate, they got to be on the ballot
for years.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
And to me, I just I don't think you're Hall
of Famer, Robter.

Speaker 7 (04:15):
You got news not related to that, but just with
that conversation, rob If, do you think if there is
a debate that a guy shouldn't be in the Hall
of Famer, that's kind of the base that's me. Does
that not eliminate Eli Manning immediately? Because because I don't,
because of the they'll read no.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
And what I'm saying is, in my voting mind, there
is no debate.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
In my mind, so I'm just about the people.

Speaker 7 (04:38):
Who also view that way, like, oh, in my mind,
Scott Rowland is a Hall of Famer, But then what
to what.

Speaker 4 (04:45):
Rob is saying it's you would think it's Dion Sanders, Joe,
you know, Ray Lewis.

Speaker 7 (04:52):
If it was that exclusive, how many guys are in
the Hall of It should be exclusive if there's what
fifteen seventy, But there's just so many.

Speaker 5 (04:58):
Guysmore because because so many positions.

Speaker 4 (05:01):
If you got twenty two play, yeah, they got DV
so it's like Champ Bailey, yeah.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
And then twenty two right offense defense and you got Kickers.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
Yeah, specialist return turner. So there's gotta be.

Speaker 4 (05:13):
Any but there still should be to me where we all,
don't you Laurence Taylor, who, by the way, he was
walking around here earlier.

Speaker 6 (05:19):
You know how you feel about previous to this Paul fight.

Speaker 4 (05:23):
You know, you see Mike Tyson, He's still like who
because you just think of who he was. Laurence Taylor
had that effect. He was walking around. He's probably my
gall on sixty two sixty three. I'm making it up.
I don't know, but he was walking around and I'm like, man,
I don't want no parts of LT, because LT looked
like he would have a nineteen eighty six flashback and
lay you out. I think he's in any given Sunday

(05:44):
on a Thursday.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
Rob ge Well, speaking speaking of being laid out, I
want to get you guys.

Speaker 7 (05:48):
This is breaking news as we're talking here, as we're
waiting for the La Manning Hall of Fame announcement.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
Hopefully he'll come any minute now.

Speaker 7 (05:56):
We were talking earlier this week laptop that Canelo Alvarez
and Terrence Bud Cropper we're gonna fight in September at
t Mobile. That fight apparently has bichellfed at least temporarily.
Will see if they revisited. According to ESPN insider Mike Copinger,
who's a does a great job over there covering the
fight game, Canelo has chosen a new opponent to fight

(06:17):
single to my Weekend End Las Vegas Team Mobile Arena
at a two hundred pound lemb.

Speaker 2 (06:24):
He fights at one sixty eight. It's gonna be on
Netflix against Oh Boy, Jake Paul. Rob Parkers threw up
in his mouth.

Speaker 4 (06:34):
Jake Paul's wait, are you sure they're not doing this
cute thing where it's gonna be wait, okay, let me
back up.

Speaker 5 (06:40):
The Paul brothers just posted something maybe a week or.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
Two ago, right, but that was never an official fight.

Speaker 4 (06:46):
They didn't know what it was, just a face off,
and so you didn't know if it was them fighting
each other or them on the same card fighting other people.
He's not gonna fight connect, that's according to this report ESPN.

Speaker 7 (06:58):
The bout will take place at the two hundred pound
weight limit. Giving that Canelo.

Speaker 4 (07:03):
Now it's real Canelo Alpharez, if he's dead serious, would
murder him like.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
A legitimate you like if he was SI.

Speaker 1 (07:14):
But this is the problem with the boxing game, and
this is why the television money became so big to
that they disrespected the governing bodies, and this is why
you have these kind of everything's a gimmick, everything's awd.

Speaker 4 (07:30):
And Alvarez two days ago to this first this, and
this is what hurts the game.

Speaker 8 (07:38):
Right.

Speaker 4 (07:38):
Just think how excited Rob g and I we were
sitt there talking. I'm like, man, Bud Crawford. This would
be that thing that gets him even more popular, because
if you know the sport, then you know how great
he is. But he's not household name like you would
think matching the talent. Wow him and Canelo? Who is
household name? Now we go from that to the Paul
and we don't even know if it. No, this is
not real now, Rob, you're real big on the you know, uh,

(08:03):
what's the word that the integrity of sports? You know,
especially because you're a Hall of Fame voter.

Speaker 7 (08:07):
Get we're waiting on Eli Manning Still, Cannelo Alvarez is
at worst a top two or three fighter of his generation.

Speaker 2 (08:15):
He's definitely a Hall of famer.

Speaker 7 (08:18):
When he does something like this, he disrespects the game.

Speaker 1 (08:22):
He allows somebody who is not put in the work
and the effort to get to that payday for a payday.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
It it kills the integrity. Is disrespects the game.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
It allows somebody to go in through the back door
where all these other fighters have done all the necessary steps,
waiting for their opportunity. And that's why I'm against it.
It really is. And I get it people want to
see a train wreck all that time stuff. But that's
why I didn't like to Mike Tyson and I said it.
I told you, like, he's not beating him, it's going

(08:54):
to be a train wreck.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
It was a disaster, but.

Speaker 4 (08:57):
At least that when we can all say, with Mike's
fifty six seven whatever, he ain't fought in the hear
next surgeries, but we knew well is still a real,
legitimate He sees money in.

Speaker 2 (09:06):
Front of him.

Speaker 1 (09:07):
But you can't let everything dictate money and have that.
I've talked to you a million times. I have the
utmost respect for the Dodgers and the Yankees. They won't
take the money to rename their stadiums. Like, everything doesn't
have to be for sale. You tell me Dodger Stadium
couldn't get a mint. They just spent a lot of
money on players. Right, Hey, let's rename Dodger Stadium to

(09:29):
American Express Stadium. The Yankees could do the same exact
thing and make a boatload of money. They won't do it.
Everything shouldn't be for sale.

Speaker 4 (09:38):
This is just weird because again, Canelos, what I'm off
top of hazy thirty one too or something like that.
It's not like he's thirty nine, forty two, just you know,
starting to make a payday.

Speaker 5 (09:49):
Let me do something crazy.

Speaker 4 (09:50):
Canelo is still a very thirty four, thirty four years old,
very good fighter, still very relevant, still the king of
the box office. He's in the top five pounder p
That's what I'm saying, and it's still the biggest draw financially.
So the math doesn't make sense, and that he doesn't
have a need for this like Mike Tyson. You know,
he's becoming a you know, side side show exactly. I

(10:12):
got podcasts and do this. I'm doing random stuff. I'll
pop up and hang over seven like right, that's just
what it is with Mike. So it was like, all right,
it's a stupid but fine, a little fun on a
Friday night. This legitimately doesn't make sense coming off the
heels of the idea that we're all going to see
one of the better fights of the last decade in
Canelo and Crawford.

Speaker 5 (10:29):
So this just doesn't make it sense.

Speaker 7 (10:30):
Okay, So let's assume that this fight doesn't get canceled
the way that the Crawford fight did. It does go
forward and made it goes the way we expect it.
Either Canelo literally kills him like you said, or they
kind of dance around each other.

Speaker 2 (10:43):
That's what they're going to do. Cash a big check.

Speaker 7 (10:45):
It is what it is, and then you still end
up getting the Canelo Crawford fight in September at Allegiance
Stadium or the Fear somewhere grand like that. Will that
then change your opinion of this whole situation?

Speaker 4 (10:58):
No, because Canelo doesn't need it, like and this is
why the documentary and of not just Floyd Mayweather in
and of himself, because but I'm saying the Floyd Mayweather
of box like how he changed boxing is gonna be
interesting the when he became money. May I fight when

(11:18):
I want to fight sparingly right? One point five fights
a year?

Speaker 5 (11:21):
Maybe?

Speaker 4 (11:22):
Uh fight who I want to fight when I'm not
gonna fight him now? Pol I fight Canelo earlier. And
the tactical way in which he went with this approach.

Speaker 5 (11:32):
Did he started it with your boy?

Speaker 6 (11:34):
Uh?

Speaker 5 (11:35):
Con McGregor, he started it with him?

Speaker 4 (11:38):
And and to me when they do the doc on
this and how the one one of Nazi's not the
only reason but a massive reason why boxing is going down,
you know, and not fighting the fights we wanted when
we wanted him. He's gonna play a big role in this.
But on the flip, what he did was and Canelos
talked about it. I saw the money end, I saw
the entrepreneur end of this, I saw the owning your

(12:00):
own destiny and controlling your own destiny and legacy of
it all. And that's where the sports folks enjoy this,
and Lebron too, in a sense of like empowerment.

Speaker 5 (12:09):
Let me control my own now.

Speaker 1 (12:11):
But there's gotta be a governing body and people who
can because your term, your time is not the history
of boxing. It's your your time that you're there. Somebody
needs to be the gatekeeper. That's what that's what you know,
what I mean for the longevity you're here for a

(12:31):
brief period.

Speaker 2 (12:32):
We can't of the sports, right, we can't agree.

Speaker 1 (12:35):
We can't allow you to just do what you want
to do during your ten year run and then leave
the sport in shambles because you've wrecked it.

Speaker 4 (12:43):
No, I absolutely agree, and that's what that's what why
I say it's going to be interesting. The Floyd Mayweather
doc of how he is circumvented so much of that
and you know, his own promoting his own fights and
just change the game.

Speaker 5 (12:54):
And now everybody wants to be a part of that.

Speaker 2 (12:56):
All right, let's do.

Speaker 1 (12:56):
This eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven
seven nine nine six sixty three sixty nine.

Speaker 2 (13:02):
Do you think Eli's getting in?

Speaker 1 (13:04):
There's people who Rob g really believes and Kelvin say, no,
get he's not getting it.

Speaker 5 (13:10):
I think they make him.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
Wait.

Speaker 5 (13:11):
I think he gets it eventually.

Speaker 2 (13:12):
Do you think he's getting in tonight?

Speaker 1 (13:14):
There's some people who said, yes, I saw a quote
from Michael Vick. Dude, he's got two MVPs that bypasses
a lot, is what he said. There was also something
that Eli has six thousand, uh six?

Speaker 2 (13:27):
What was the number? Six thousand yards?

Speaker 1 (13:30):
Eli Manning is one of six quarterbacks to throw for
at least six thousand yards in a single regular season
with playoffs combined, one of only six. So eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox where you and by the
time we talked to you, we.

Speaker 2 (13:45):
Might have breaking news.

Speaker 5 (13:47):
We'll see it is.

Speaker 2 (13:48):
The odd couple on a TV theme.

Speaker 1 (13:50):
So on Thursday right here Fox Sports at getting it

don't I know this one?

Speaker 5 (14:12):

Speaker 2 (14:12):
Come on Kate on author that dog.

Speaker 4 (14:15):
Yeah, oh, this is all I know about Arthur is
an angry fists emogi that everybody puts. He That's all I
know right there, it's the hot couple Robinckkevin here.

Speaker 2 (14:25):
I didn't know what he was Jamaican though I did
not know Mama Clop.

Speaker 4 (14:30):
I'd cople here Radio Row in New Orleans, looking forward

NFL honors. They've been slow rolling these things. Rob g
dropping a little bit. What has actually come out so far?

Speaker 7 (15:02):
Do we we have the offensive Rookie of the Year
jayde danis no surprise that leaprise you this morning? Minor
surprise Defensive Player of the Year supposed to be scheduled
to be on the odd couple tomorrow. Patrick Sir Tan
the second he might charge from Denver. He might he
might try. It might be a little different.

Speaker 4 (15:16):
Now he might come in a little You know, hey,
it's your boy winning awards out here. We're waiting to
see if Eli's gonna make it in first ballot.

Speaker 2 (15:24):
You got numbers, I got numbers.

Speaker 7 (15:26):
Pro and con Eli Man, I'm gonna give him to
you both. We're gonna see you can make the best
case out of this. As the weather or I should
getting in the Hall of Fame for his ballot. Whether
or not he gets in, Eli's gonna be making history, Okay,
because if he does get in, he will join Joe
Namath and Sonny Jurgensen is the only modern quarterbacks in
the Hall.

Speaker 2 (15:46):
Of Fame with by the way, okay number two.

Speaker 1 (15:50):
If he gets omitted, but they were in the Super
Bowl era, and that's what I.

Speaker 7 (15:53):
Mean, he will join Jim Plunkett as the only omitted
quarterbacks with multiple Super Bowl wins.

Speaker 2 (15:58):
Okay, here's the other one, and Jim Plunket didn't win MVP.

Speaker 7 (16:02):
If you're a Rob Parker, Eli, Manning Truther, you're gonna say.
Eli finished his career eighth all time about passing yards touchdowns,
started two hundred and ten consecutive games, which was an
iron Man something to be commending us, and he joined
Tom Brady, Patrick Mahone, Joe Montana, Bart Starr, and Terry Bradshaw,
all Hall of famers, as the only multiple winners of

(16:25):
Super Bowl MVP Awards.

Speaker 2 (16:27):
Hello back, Hello, and they're all in the Hall of Fame.
Hey are a Kelvin Washington.

Speaker 7 (16:33):
If you are an Eli Manning hater the Hall of Mick,
you're gonna say, you know what, Eli Manning went to
the playoffs only six times in sixteen seas.

Speaker 9 (16:43):
Hey hold on, go ahead. Lebron only won four championships.
In twenty four he was five hundred record won seventeen.
He was just after winning the Super Bowl in twenty twelve,
forty two, and sixty seventy eight in sixty seven.

Speaker 7 (17:01):
After that, he had eight straight excuse me, six losing
seasons in a seven year span.

Speaker 2 (17:08):
Bad team. That was a bad team around that. Look
at that? Is he getting in?

Speaker 4 (17:12):
And I yes or no? He gets in? Eventually? Absolutely
he gets in. He does get in.

Speaker 1 (17:17):
And you guys, once again, I'm gonna be white about
the NFL.

Speaker 2 (17:21):
How long have I been covering this league?

Speaker 1 (17:23):
You saw Lawrence Taylor walk by, You use your I
covered Lawrence Taylor.

Speaker 2 (17:28):
Do you hear me?

Speaker 5 (17:29):
You use your get.

Speaker 1 (17:32):
That's how long I've been covering the NFL. When Lawrence
Taylor walked by, which he went at me, which because
he remembered I was a twenty two year old.

Speaker 4 (17:42):
Okay, I just figured it out, Robs, twenty three year old.
Because Eli Manning beat your lot. That as now I'm saying,
not because he's said your lot.

Speaker 5 (17:59):
I didn't say.

Speaker 4 (18:00):
Okay, that is why you are so pro because if
he beat Philip Rivers say, you.

Speaker 6 (18:06):
Would be like, no, Eli was good.

Speaker 2 (18:08):
I'm gonna tell you, but I don't think he makes it.

Speaker 4 (18:10):
It's because he beat the luckiest you lappy that it's
your anybody, but chiefs, it is your beat. These lions
three interceptions from getting Jerry car that figured it out.

Speaker 5 (18:20):
That's what it is.

Speaker 4 (18:21):
If he be better Roethlisberger, you'd be like he was
good but not a.

Speaker 2 (18:24):
Hall of Fame.

Speaker 6 (18:25):
No.

Speaker 5 (18:25):
Here, here's why Rob I figured out Roger.

Speaker 2 (18:27):
We got it.

Speaker 5 (18:27):
Yep, we figured.

Speaker 1 (18:28):
It's that he was if he would have won the
two Super Bowls and he wasn't MVP in both.

Speaker 2 (18:34):
No what I want Okay.

Speaker 4 (18:35):
No, I'm I'm saying if he's want to know, no,
gotta have two.

Speaker 2 (18:40):
You gotta have two and two.

Speaker 1 (18:41):
That's that's what okay, because he doesn't have all the
other stuff.

Speaker 2 (18:45):
The other thing is he.

Speaker 1 (18:46):
Has the signature throws, you know what I mean, Like
we talked about it. Patrick Mahomes has three Super Bowls
and until last year he didn't have a moment that
even ranked in there. Okay, and and Eli had that.
And the other part is his all of his runs,
he had to go win on the road.

Speaker 2 (19:05):
You know.

Speaker 1 (19:05):
He was never a top seed where you only had
to win two games. Like he had to go on
the road and win all all these games to beat
the Packers in Green Bay during Aaron Rods.

Speaker 4 (19:14):
That leads to my thing. All of that stuffed that great.
That his teams had to be the lower seed like
he didn't. But that to me like Peyton Manning had
to run.

Speaker 1 (19:23):
But it was like, see, I could I could discount
Tom Brady and say most of the times that he
made two Super Bowl they only had to win two games.
They had six wins every year from the AFS seed least,
so that patted his record. They always had the top
seed and it's easy.

Speaker 4 (19:38):
It wasn't great every year, you know what I mean?
They had some years when they was submit action going on.

Speaker 2 (19:44):
Again.

Speaker 4 (19:44):
This is the problem, you know, the challenge when any
I don't care pick the sports Lebron or were talking
about Lebron and it's either great or that you have
to start downing somebody, you know, to have these conversations
like if you were just kicking in the barbershop and
you were like, yo, Eli, he had a puppet.

Speaker 1 (19:57):
But I think this dad, he said about all quarterbacks
with multiple MVPs all in the.

Speaker 2 (20:04):
Hall of Fame.

Speaker 4 (20:05):
The only thing I would challenge with that is that
they also were really good regular season. It's like not
like they were all of a sudden out the blue
that listening. If you have it enough, rod g I
got it right here. Tom Brady's got five. Brady was
something that Nat Mahomes got three.

Speaker 7 (20:19):
They move on, Joe Montana got three, move on, bart
Star got to move on, Terry Bradshaw got to and
move on to Terry.

Speaker 1 (20:28):
Terry Bradsch will go look at his number that great
disrespect four.

Speaker 4 (20:34):
No I know, but he's not. I wouldn't put him
on the first five or so that he told you.
I agree with that I agree, But that's my point
is that the first four out of the five out
of the six he just read or like they were
incredible period like playoffs, super Bowl, regular season, preseason practice.

Speaker 5 (20:51):
They were just great.

Speaker 4 (20:52):
And that's my issue is not that Eli Manning didn't
have a good career and didn't you know, but it's like, dang,
that's Hall of Fame, that is especial, and you're telling
me first ballot.

Speaker 2 (21:04):
Yes, because again, here's the history part of it.

Speaker 5 (21:07):
I almost flipped this charity. I just realized that you
me first.

Speaker 2 (21:09):
Balance yes, and he beat the eighteen and old Patriots.

Speaker 4 (21:13):
Just don't even call it the Patriots, call it the
lot all right. B John Robinson, who had a heck
of a season all Pro. We're gonna talk to him
and just a little bit with the Atlanta Falcons and
be good to catch up with him in just a moment.

Speaker 5 (21:24):
Right now.

Speaker 4 (21:25):
We're gonna find out what's training, to see if there's
some new news with Manzi Milanos Fellas.

Speaker 10 (21:29):
I'm with Rob here. I just gotta say I'm with
Rob about Eli Mining and Ken keep saying like, well,
it's because it's the Patriots, and it's.

Speaker 2 (21:36):
Like, yes, that's it's accurate. Yes, it is, because it's
the Patriots.

Speaker 10 (21:40):
You can't tell the story of the NFL without mentioning
Eli Manning's name.

Speaker 2 (21:44):
Zi, Yes, I.

Speaker 5 (21:48):
Really mean this.

Speaker 4 (21:49):
If we all say the Hall of Fame is supposed
to be the hall of like the most insane players,
right where I name him, you go automatically yes, Yes,
at no point did a defense plan for Eli, at
no point where they worried.

Speaker 1 (22:01):
About That's at your point?

Speaker 5 (22:06):
Was he ever?

Speaker 4 (22:06):
In all promates you never were even the best quarterback
at any point in your six year career, but you circumvent.

Speaker 2 (22:12):
And skip on that. Now you're in Hall of Fame?
Could you do?

Speaker 6 (22:14):
That's just what I genuinely don't understand.

Speaker 10 (22:16):
And I hear what you're saying, but I think, like
it's this is one of those rare in.

Speaker 5 (22:22):
So we'll give the okay, No, it's.

Speaker 2 (22:24):
Not giving the asterisk.

Speaker 10 (22:25):
It's because of who he beat at a time when like,
if you're telling a story of the NFL, you were
telling the Patriots dynasty and you cannot leave his name out.

Speaker 2 (22:34):
He is part of the big story.

Speaker 10 (22:36):
And I think this is just one of those circumstances
where it changes what you're saying, Because you're right, Kelvin,
I agree with you, but I think this is just
one of those circumstances.

Speaker 2 (22:44):
It's different.

Speaker 10 (22:45):
I got to tell you guys though, on Saturday show,
My Show with Steve Hartman this past Saturday, he said
he had insider information, and he told this to our
listeners that Eli Manning was not going to make it
as a first time ballot Hall of Famers.

Speaker 2 (23:03):
That is what he said.

Speaker 6 (23:04):
We don't.

Speaker 10 (23:05):
He said he had insider information.

Speaker 8 (23:06):
All right, NFL honors underway.

Speaker 10 (23:08):
You guys already mentioned Commanders quarterback Jaden Daniels Offensive Rookie
of the Year, Broncos cornerback patrick's Or Tan Defensive Player
of the Year. Eagles running back Saquon Barkley is the
offensive Player of the Year.

Speaker 2 (23:20):
It just came out. Let's check in on the NBA scores.

Speaker 10 (23:23):
Yeah, guys, Mavericks are still beating the Celtics in Boston.
One seventeen ninety nine is the score, less than six
minutes to go halfway through the third quarter. The Rockets
are on top of the Timberwoo of seventy three to
seventy one. And yes, Anthony Edwards and Dylan Brooks seemed
to be getting chippy with each other. No surprise there.
The Magic are on top of the Nuggets nineteen to
fifteen late in the first quarter in men's college hoops
Ohio State with the comeback and the upset over Number

(23:46):
eighteen Maryland seventy three to seventy was the final score.
We'll check in on the NHL to see if Alex
Novechkin has scored again. He only has scored once, so
he's still sixteen away from.

Speaker 2 (23:58):
Beating Wayne Gretzky for all time.

Speaker 10 (24:00):
But the Capitals are now beating the Flyers forty three
with six minutes to go in the third period.

Speaker 2 (24:04):
And you guys already mentioned it.

Speaker 10 (24:06):
Canello Alvarez Jake Caaul finalizing a deal for a cruiserweight
fight on May third in Las Vegas.

Speaker 4 (24:13):

Speaker 4 (24:46):
We're here now with Pro Bowl running back Bijon Robinson,
Atlanta Falcons in the building and also artist Stevens, who
is a national over the national Big Brothers and Big Sisters.
First of all, great to have both, do you hear?
I want to I want to start to start there
will just tell us a little bit more beson what's
your relationship with the Big Brothers.

Speaker 8 (25:06):
Big Sisters and yeah, man, so you know our partnership
has been awesome.

Speaker 2 (25:09):
Man.

Speaker 11 (25:10):
You know, I'm a firm believer in having mentors, and
you know we're trying to launch is that you know,
the Big Draft campaign and trying to get those ten
thousand mentors to help thirty thousand kids, which is you know,
extreme and which is awesome because every single one of
these kids need somebody, needs somebody. And for me, like
as a kid, like I've always had mentors in my
life and I've always had coaches. Uh, you know, my

(25:31):
dad just all these people that are that I that
I respect and that's helped me throughout my journey and
that's you know, made me the man that I am today.

Speaker 8 (25:37):
So you know, it's been it's been just such a.

Speaker 11 (25:38):
Blessing to me, Artists and and and to me all
these great people here that have been changing the world.
Really like you know, he he doesn't have to do
this like he can do He can do anything else
in his in his time, and what he wants to
do is help people out, help kids out, and see
just a bigger vision of what we're trying to do,
especially like us as like black men, like it's even
more of an unachieved for us to do something like

(26:01):
that for it for everybody. So it's been a great
partnership with them.

Speaker 1 (26:04):
Artist knows this because I told the story. Artists has
been with us on the ID couple a few times.
And I had a big, big brother in Cincinnati.

Speaker 5 (26:13):
I was one.

Speaker 1 (26:14):
I was a sports writer covering the Cincinnati Reds and
you know, and I was like, I want to make
sure that I reach out to the community. I just
didn't want to take from the community to come there,
nice job doing my thing and then bounce when the
time comes and I met a young man, Antonio, and
this was a few years ago, and our relationship, you know,
for many, many years, to the point when I went

(26:37):
back that.

Speaker 2 (26:37):
Two years ago I met his son.

Speaker 5 (26:39):
Oh you know what I mean.

Speaker 1 (26:40):
And it was just like, this was a guy I
helped mentor when he was sixteen and so old. And
to see it means a lot. And big brother's big says,
you know, it's dear near and dear.

Speaker 2 (26:51):
To my heart.

Speaker 12 (26:51):
Yeah yeah, and Rob, like what you just said is
the power of this mission, right, And and Jona Sacks
he said it well, like, man, I need to bring
you on, spokesperson. I don't even do right right, right, man,
But listen, so you're talking about over we just celebrated
one hundred and twenty years right to be in the mission.
But when you think about it, right and beyond hit
on it, right, you got thirty thousand kids that's out

(27:13):
there that's looking for mentors. Most of those kids are boys,
and most of those boys are boys of color, right,
who are looking for male mentors, and particularly mend Yeah.
But here's the thing, and I always want to tell
people this because anytime I say that, I want to
make sure I put contact to that.

Speaker 8 (27:29):
Right. Over the last four years.

Speaker 12 (27:31):
The fastest growing population of people who raise their hand
to volunteer and our mission have been men have been men.

Speaker 8 (27:38):
Of color, specifically, right.

Speaker 12 (27:40):
So when you roll out the welcome at right, when
they hear voices, when they can identify with people. That's
why it's so important that you have people life who
cares that can help get this message out because when
they hear it and they know it, they're going to
get involved. We're engage, and that's what we want. People
who are listening to have that same type of feeling
to say, you know what, I can do this. It
doesn't take a lot of time. I can get engaged.

(28:00):
But you know what, when I do it, not only
do I hope a kid get better, I get better
because I'm involved in it.

Speaker 2 (28:05):
And I say this all the time. You can make
time for anything you want to make time.

Speaker 1 (28:09):
Great fact, so people, whenever I hear that, I'm like, dude, I've.

Speaker 2 (28:13):
Been mentoring and doing all that career. You know I can.

Speaker 5 (28:17):
Vouch both he and I.

Speaker 4 (28:19):
One of the things we take seriously of our responsibility
to mentor and bring up and you can see.

Speaker 2 (28:24):
Especially in this business, you know what I mean.

Speaker 4 (28:26):
And you can see the trail of him, like I
literally some of my best friends are guys that he
mentored twenty twenty five years ago, and you can just
see it, and it's reciprocated him.

Speaker 3 (28:36):
He is.

Speaker 4 (28:37):
He got en trying in the NABJ Hall of Famer
surrounded by all the guys he had been mentoring. And
I take that same thing with myself back in la
same thing, same type of mindset.

Speaker 5 (28:46):
So that's a great point you made.

Speaker 4 (28:48):
Last point I'll make is that people feel as well,
why me, right, I'm just a ex I'm not running
back in the NFL.

Speaker 5 (28:53):
It's like, no, you matter.

Speaker 4 (28:54):
Most people aren' gonna be running back, So that absolutely matters.
Speaking of which, let's get to the season that was.

Speaker 1 (29:02):
And we're mad that the Falcons didn't make the playoffs,
all right, because you were talking about it.

Speaker 2 (29:07):
We know that. I know you were mad because you
guys had a good team.

Speaker 1 (29:10):
Yeah yeah, and I know the quarterback play kind of
went off the deep end and.

Speaker 2 (29:15):
I was, you know, whoa is this the real rapper?
I'm just.

Speaker 1 (29:21):
Were just talking about brothers. We got company crazy, But
that had to be disappointed because it looked like you
guys are going.

Speaker 2 (29:30):
To make it.

Speaker 8 (29:30):
Yeah.

Speaker 11 (29:30):
Man, I mean you know you can't control you know,
everything that you do in the NFL. Like obviously it's
hard to win, and you know for us, like, yeah,
we want to win every game. But I think the
thing that we I think that will be better at
next year is just taking it one week at a time.

Speaker 8 (29:44):
You know.

Speaker 11 (29:45):
I think the message was like we got to win
the South, we got to win our division, and you know,
obviously that's what you want to do. But you can't
look ahead and you can't look at other opponents and
and think that you know, oh we we can. We
can lax in this game like nah, man, like the
fail you every game matters, every every single day matters,
every single week, matters, no matter no matter who you're
going up against. But you know, I think we have

(30:07):
you know, well enough leaders now to know, like you know,
we we gotta we got to prepare it the same
way for every single team, whether it's the Saints and
it's the must win game, or if it's if it's
the I mean, the Giants, It doesn't matter who it is, man, Like,
you gotta you gotta make sure that you're locked in.

Speaker 8 (30:21):
So I think that's that was a big thing for us.
That's a big learned lesson for us.

Speaker 1 (30:24):
I was going to ask you about Michael Pennix Junior
and just you know, obviously they put him in at
the end of the see Kirk Cousins.

Speaker 2 (30:30):
Just they had to make a change. They made a
change with a rookie quarterback.

Speaker 1 (30:34):
Just give us a feel for him going into next
year when it's gonna be his show, and how mature
he is or how ready he is for this moment.
I know he's a little older too.

Speaker 8 (30:43):
Yeah, man, I mean he's ready to go.

Speaker 11 (30:44):
He's ready to go, man, Like he's prepared, well, he's
he was ready when he got in the game, and
he obviously has a lot of great players around him
to you know, to make his job a lot easier.
And you know, even like for me in the run game,
like he makes my job way easier in the old line,
and you know, he opens up a lot of things
for me as as I hope I would do for
him as well. But yeah, man, I mean he'll be
ready to go for next year. He I mean, he's

(31:06):
older than all of us, like right, No, that's what
I don't know, a normal rookie. Yeah, no, he might be.

Speaker 1 (31:12):
The first quarterback to get a pension of paycheck and
Social Security the same.

Speaker 5 (31:18):
Time saying yes, he needs to start a due rag
brand too. He's always got to do. I ain't seen
him what I literally think I've ever seen him without a.

Speaker 11 (31:24):
Du rat never take the do rag Off. I just
had a deal last week or whatever. But like, yeah,
and it'll be it'll be a real issue if he.

Speaker 4 (31:31):
Has on that home and with it, Like what you mean,
if you know you gotta do it. I want to
ask you, what's is one of the things he and
I we actually been big on off season and just
and really showing love to the fact that people are
getting back, teams are getting back to running the ball.
And so for you running back, how you got yourself?
You got of course, Derek Henry, you got Christian barked

(31:53):
up all these guys and you just and you see
how the Lion's multi faceted couple of running backs running game.

Speaker 5 (32:00):
It's important a game back in the league.

Speaker 2 (32:01):
It's always been try to push it out.

Speaker 4 (32:04):
We can just get anybody. No, they need talent. They
brothers like yourself. Tell me why that was how you
felt about seeing Bam, we're back to running the ball
and giving us a chance to show how special we are.

Speaker 11 (32:13):
I mean, teams are teams are starting to draft these
elite you know, defensive ends and edge rushers in it's
starting to get hard to pass the football because quarterbacks
aren't having the time to see things develop and and
to see things like downfield because you got a minimum
time a second. So you know, when you have an
elite run game, then you're dominating to let the defenders

(32:37):
and let the defensive ends kind of like wait and
see what happens. Because I mean, when you have a
guy that can run the football super well and you
have a good offensive line, then it's it's pretty much
hard to stop, Like it's endless to stop.

Speaker 2 (32:48):
His name is with that with that offensive line?

Speaker 11 (32:52):
Oh my god, we're currently seeing it now, like we're
seeing Saquan about to play this game. But you know,
obviously Jayalen Hurts can can can run the football. But
you know he has two elite receivers on the outside.
But without Saquon, I don't know if it will be
the same, like it would be the same product because
you know, he takes away a lot for for you know,
a quarterback in for receivers, and when you have a

(33:14):
running body that can do that and be an all
around talent, then you're just it's hard to stop.

Speaker 4 (33:19):
Real quick for us because we've been arguing about it.
We yelling to our faces.

Speaker 8 (33:22):
With blue Yeah you were black, blue.

Speaker 4 (33:25):
Black, it's you were squan last game going for the
rushing title, obviously still going to playoffs.

Speaker 5 (33:30):
What would you wanted to do?

Speaker 4 (33:31):
Tell the truth, you said me, And I'll do.

Speaker 8 (33:35):
What he did.

Speaker 11 (33:36):
I would now, but I'm gonna tell you like, thank you.
If I thank you, if I was fifty yards away,
I'm playing.

Speaker 1 (33:42):
But you understand here we goes Noway, but it hurt.
But he doesn't play by hisself, and if and the
whole offensive line has to play, one of those guys
go down, then you'll play before your playoff runs. All right,
listen to him, like, listen to him my headphones, you

(34:05):
don't hear you have calling to talk?

Speaker 4 (34:08):
Yeah, he plays so much? You want that? How you
get the title? And you get the title and.

Speaker 11 (34:16):
My I think I think the Russian title, Like obviously
Eric Dickerson is the guy, so I think you got
to get it in sixteen sixteen games.

Speaker 4 (34:24):
He was actually say Kawi was going for fourteen. That's
the craziest part about it.

Speaker 8 (34:28):
I know.

Speaker 4 (34:28):
Hey, well artists, Bjeon Man, we appreciate you guys taking
time with us today.

Speaker 5 (34:32):

Speaker 6 (37:43):

Speaker 5 (37:46):
He's in it.

Speaker 6 (37:47):
We were trying to you know, we didn't want to
bring it, bring it up.

Speaker 4 (37:49):
We were just having conversations earlier about how to vent
about certain things the frustrate you to get you mad,
and then Sean let him have it right there.

Speaker 2 (37:56):
Well, Sew, he's on the MLB pace.

Speaker 5 (38:00):
They focused out of Alice. What you do we have
to bring that up, Alex.

Speaker 7 (38:03):
Well, here's the other thing is people who will be
more levelheaded than Rob were like, Hey, I'm pretty sure
there's some kind of criteria that because this show's only
been around for three months, you're like not eligible to
be on the list.

Speaker 5 (38:14):
Trying to make up something.

Speaker 7 (38:15):
But at this boy, the damage is already done. I
don't care if there is a qualifier, but I was.

Speaker 1 (38:20):
But there was some ESPN show I don't know, I
don't that that they just got put together so that
that can't be the reason can.

Speaker 6 (38:30):
Be and there's nobody's buying it, And I gotta said
what we.

Speaker 5 (38:33):
Were talking about.

Speaker 4 (38:34):
When you start nippicking, Hey, Lebron and Jordan, you gotta
you gotta kill the other person with that, won't do it?
Start crushing up the shows, because that's what it leads
you to do, right, because you go, Man, that show
of that show, sitting at that show. So I'll just say, man,
that's why I don't overly read into the things the streets.

Speaker 8 (38:47):
Know.

Speaker 4 (38:48):
Hey, all jokes aside, have we not been getting a
bunch of love out here? All facts, even from the police,
The police Alex stopped the stop.

Speaker 2 (38:57):
Two black people and a Mexican.

Speaker 5 (38:59):
I ain't gonna lie.

Speaker 2 (39:00):
It was a positive and it was all about five fight.

Speaker 6 (39:02):
Uh you know, Louisiana.

Speaker 4 (39:04):
What out of the state troopers state They were like,
they were like, we listened to the odd couple.

Speaker 2 (39:09):
We loved the show. If he was just walking, yeah, Robbie,
sure of them doesn't write for MLB bro.

Speaker 1 (39:13):
No and wait, no more, Alex speaking of MLB BRO.

Speaker 2 (39:18):
That was weirdlious. Can you tell Alex.

Speaker 7 (39:22):
Somebody saw Rob on the street was like, yeah, MLB bro,
And let me tell you it was a fifty year
old white woman.

Speaker 2 (39:28):
Yes, yes, that's incredible. Rob's got more people on staff
at MLB BRO. You just don't know, like the reach
we have.

Speaker 1 (39:37):
You guys keep thinking this is year five of MLB BRO.

Speaker 2 (39:41):
You know we're into right now.

Speaker 5 (39:43):
Hey, I'm not gonna lie. Caught us off guard, she ran.

Speaker 2 (39:46):
Up on you. Yep, it wasn't. I was shook.

Speaker 5 (39:48):
I washed his hand. Robb gi the ce if he
slipped or something.

Speaker 2 (39:51):
He didn't slip.

Speaker 6 (39:52):
He didn't slip or anything.

Speaker 4 (39:53):
I was wondering if he had a twenty But yes,
So don't get overally mad about the listen.

Speaker 2 (39:56):
I guess they're gonna make us wait.

Speaker 4 (39:58):
The NFL milk this thing to the very end and
find out who's getting in, and find out if ELI does,
and find out about the MVP and all that good stuff.

Speaker 5 (40:05):
But enjoy watching that tomorrow. Last day.

Boysober

Boysober

Have you ever wondered what life might be like if you stopped worrying about being wanted, and focused on understanding what you actually want? That was the question Hope Woodard asked herself after a string of situationships inspired her to take a break from sex and dating. She went "boysober," a personal concept that sparked a global movement among women looking to prioritize themselves over men. Now, Hope is looking to expand the ways we explore our relationship to relationships. Taking a bold, unfiltered look into modern love, romance, and self-discovery, Boysober will dive into messy stories about dating, sex, love, friendship, and breaking generational patterns—all with humor, vulnerability, and a fresh perspective.
