Speaker 7 (01:18):
Ack at that. Yeah, not that one. We didn't do
that today. What did we lose that?
Speaker 4 (01:24):
We you know we.
Speaker 7 (01:26):
Yeah, you're right, we did not do that. Today's show.
We did not do We had a long weekend. Everybody's
just you.
Speaker 4 (01:32):
But you know what I mean over here?
Speaker 7 (01:33):
Yeah, hanging out wins, Aaron Rodgers doing like dark retreats.
Speaker 4 (01:39):
Basically, yeah, and I just got kids.
Speaker 6 (01:42):
So but today it was the anniversary of one of
the Flintstone characters.
Speaker 4 (01:49):
Just pretty pretty cool. So you're gonna do what you
already did with Adam Kaplan now this no no, no, no,
no no.
Speaker 8 (01:56):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (01:57):
It was uh and Mark Rock.
Speaker 6 (02:00):
Do you remember how they used to always Okay, Steve knows,
Steve tell Steve to put his headphones.
Speaker 4 (02:05):
Okay, Steve remembers this.
Speaker 6 (02:08):
You remember, the Flintstones would take the names of stars
of that day and turn them into a.
Speaker 9 (02:13):
Just like the Simpsons kind of has common modern people
making appearances or references.
Speaker 6 (02:19):
So like back in that day, it was Perry Masonry instead.
Speaker 4 (02:24):
Of pryt That got that right.
Speaker 6 (02:26):
It was instead of Tony Curtis, it was Stony Curtis,
stuff like that. But the big one was and that's
what I was trying to find and Mark Rock for
and Margaret was it was a sex symbol back in
the sixties.
Speaker 4 (03:00):
Forty five point blowout here. You know why we're doing that.
Speaker 6 (03:03):
We're celebrating and marg Rock's eighty fourth birthday. Her eighty
fourth birthday. But and here's a picture of what they had.
Speaker 4 (03:11):
Let me see what the head is. Okay, how does
she look like? I stink she was a sex symbol
back and she was in an Elvis movie.
Speaker 7 (03:18):
Yes, and Margaret, she kind of looked like Roger Rabbits
girl Jessica Rabbits.
Speaker 8 (03:22):
Ho.
Speaker 7 (03:22):
Yeah, look like a pretty little pre Jessica in the
forty eighties.
Speaker 4 (03:25):
But that was my little Okay, flints, don't you know.
I'm into the flint.
Speaker 9 (03:28):
Yeah, we could do a whole segment on this, because
this Miami Heat game is true.
Speaker 4 (03:34):
Forty five. Okay, you're right, So I'm sorry, I got
that right. And marg Rock is appropriate.
Speaker 9 (03:40):
By the way, even Ernie Johnson said at halftime on
t TNT, this might be the worst game I've ever watched.
Speaker 4 (03:47):
No, it's now ninety three to forty five.
Speaker 7 (03:49):
It's just ridiculous that this is like a Bill I game,
the thing that put pat Riley in retirement.
Speaker 4 (03:54):
I mean, you see, respectfully, ninety six to forty you're
ahead of us, Yeah, you're a yeah, all right.
Speaker 9 (04:00):
By the way, this is I mean, there have been
a fair amount of playoff games in the history of
the NBA as far as in a potential series clinching game.
This was the largest halftime lead ever.
Speaker 4 (04:12):
I believe that. I believe.
Speaker 6 (04:14):
So. You know, normally we talk about all the time
a team, even though they're not gonna win a suit,
they'll fight, you know what I mean?
Speaker 9 (04:20):
Yeah, and that's what Barkley said after the Yearnie comment
at halftime. I try not to use the word choke.
This is grade A quitting right here right.
Speaker 7 (04:28):
Were They are already one two three to loom one
two three, Dubai one two three can't coop whereas one
two three Bahamas. Where else would you want to go
because they're just staying in Miami? Yeah, they're just staying home.
I mean it is beautiful place. But my gosh, what
do you say if you're exposure? Seriously, like, how do
you come ho? They just hited three and half a.
Speaker 4 (04:47):
I thought they had. I thought the heat, the heat culture.
Speaker 9 (04:51):
Maybe maybe uh, Hokeys is finally going to get a
few minutes.
Speaker 4 (04:55):
I thought he was playing ir end of the season.
Speaker 9 (04:58):
They finally put him in there.
Speaker 4 (04:59):
He played about.
Speaker 9 (04:59):
Four twenty minutes, forty points.
Speaker 4 (05:01):
Yeah, what Heimaks was? You know what good? I don't
like a good quality player.
Speaker 6 (05:05):
JJ Reddick just called Eric Spolstra said, don't play anybody
else in the second half, Say five guys, Gosh, dude.
Speaker 9 (05:13):
Tyler hero is one for ten shooting in this kid,
stop already, right, just.
Speaker 4 (05:18):
Go sit down someway.
Speaker 7 (05:19):
Then the real question is equally, when do both coaches
pull the plug?
Speaker 4 (05:24):
You know what I mean? If Cleveland, I don't want
anybody to get hurt in the blow.
Speaker 9 (05:28):
It's mid third quarter. I don't care if I have
a week off after this.
Speaker 7 (05:31):
And if you're in Miami, do you just say, come
on on it. We'll get him next to your guys.
Speaker 9 (05:35):
And this actually brings up the better point. Can we
please stop expanding playoffs in all sports?
Speaker 7 (05:41):
Right?
Speaker 9 (05:41):
Because this team didn't deserve to be in the play
in in the first place.
Speaker 6 (05:44):
We talk about it all the time. It's it's this
is not a playoff team.
Speaker 9 (05:48):
Eight games under five hundred during the regular season, eight.
Speaker 4 (05:53):
Terrible.
Speaker 6 (05:54):
All right, Well, there is a playoff game tonight, and
one that we're interested in, and that's because the Houston
Rockets take on the Golden State Warriors in San Francisco tonight.
That's the second game the night, and that's a good
series two.
Speaker 7 (06:09):
To one's been a good one, I think for me,
Rob the main takeaway I was watching the series and
have been watching it, and one of the things that
I've been impressed with is is really Steph Curry. And
I gotta give him some credit because over the last
four years, give or take. One of the criticism I
had prior to that was, well, yeah, he's the greatest
(06:31):
shooter I've ever seen, one of the most exciting players
we've ever seen.
Speaker 4 (06:34):
He's incredible.
Speaker 7 (06:35):
But people all these top ten, top twelve already, he's
better than Isaiah Thomas already, He's better than now I
always better than Magic. John's best point on all right, guys,
you gotta slow down. And one of the things I
wanted to see from him, this is again about four
or five years ago, was can he be the absolute
guy in the league? Can he drag teams? Can he
go out there and on a game seven and drop forty,
(06:56):
drop fit whatever it needs to get done to win,
because some of the times I felt like he was
a byproduct and a great byproduct, but of the system
and also having a better player and Kevin Durant those
those few years. So I've been so impressed with Steph
ever since that last championship run back when was it
twenty twenty two? Watching him even when his teams go
(07:17):
down and they don't make the playoffs, but just watching
him kind of no hos bar, I can I can
get it done watching him even during this series Jimmy
Butler's down, they're face guarding him, They're putting two three
guys on as he can't get the ball. Still finding
a way to get thirty points, still finding a way
to make big shots, still finding a way to you know,
excite the crowd and get this thing going. It's been
(07:38):
been remarkable to see it. I gotta give him credit
because those are one of the things I wanted. Can
Steph alone sometimes do it? Can Steph alone sometimes drag
a team. Can Steph alone be the man, not the team,
not the corporate every now and again, I wanted to
see that if I'm gonna start putting you in the
top ten, top because I can know what Larry Bird did,
I know what Michael jordan', I know what Lebron did,
I know what Kobe did, and he has been just that.
(07:58):
It really is a last the brigade, who's got a
shot to make some noise. I mean, Lebron has been
playing very well, but the Lakers are down three to
one right now, and this could be it for the
Lakers this season. Kevin Durant doesn't make the postseason, right
Chris Paul doesn't make the postseason. Russell Westbrook's in the postseason,
but he's you know, he's not the best player, not
even one of the second third best players on that
(08:19):
Denver Nugget team.
Speaker 4 (08:20):
So Steph is really the.
Speaker 7 (08:21):
Last brigade right now, the old guard who can you know,
have some success and make it maybe next to the
next round in this postseason and really have something to say.
So it's been interesting that he's been able to do
this and with Jimmy's gonna play to night. But I
have been impressed with how well he's played, and I've
been impressed just with his mantra, his makeup the last
few seasons of y'all got me, we gonna figure this
(08:45):
thing out. And I know it wasn't good earlier this season.
Everybody needs help, so I'm glad they got Jimmy for him.
But it's been great to see him just kind of
want the moment, take the shots, drag a team.
Speaker 4 (08:55):
And I've enjoyed that. Well, I gotta give him credit
for that.
Speaker 6 (08:58):
I ain't giving nobody credit until to get like like they.
Speaker 4 (09:01):
Might lose the series.
Speaker 7 (09:02):
They could lose, could but I still I just know
what things for me was could like in a game
with her face guard and you could you make it happen?
Still not just go They just had a good defensive scheme,
you know what I mean? Could you make it happen?
Find a way to still do that? He did that
and I was very impressed by that.
Speaker 6 (09:19):
I'm rooting against the Warriors. I just I'm not interested
in the Warriors. I love the Timberwolves. I would love
the Rockets. I love OKAYC. That's what I'm I'm into this.
It's a changing of the guard right now Cleveland like
in the East. I'm all, I'm serious, I'm all into this.
(09:40):
I would love for it to be different. No Steph,
no Lebron. Can we have Houston, ok C, Minnesota Minnesota
and then and then you have either Denver or the Clippers.
But I'm dead serious. I would rather Houston move on
(10:05):
rather than seeing the the Warriors again. That's if I
like a rooting interest, you know me, I don't care
when I really don't. But if you ask me what
I would rather see going forward, not only in one situation,
because I've something.
Speaker 4 (10:21):
You want to see the Lakers loose. I enjoyed that.
I don't. I don't know.
Speaker 7 (10:25):
You know you posted on Twitter. I just you know
you put it out there. It's just a joke. Okay,
baby oil comes out for jokes. Now exactly, it was
just a baby oil joke. It's all good. I know
when you saw it with not because it was a
double I should have had. I should have I should
have in both in both hands.
Speaker 4 (10:46):
You can't be double fising. It's crazy. That's crazy a
little bit.
Speaker 7 (10:49):
I know what you mean. We want to give me
one more, give me, give me one. I need somebody
I one. No I want. I want Lebron out. I
want the new young blood, want new talent. I want
to see something else. I don't want the same old,
same old. Can we have something new and refreshing? Aren't
you enjoying ant man?
Speaker 4 (11:09):
I am enjoying. Sure, I love.
Speaker 7 (11:12):
That's why I keep telling you he's gonna accidentally be
the face of the league.
Speaker 6 (11:16):
Vin Mitchell, Let's see Donovan go off. How about Donovan,
Mitchell and ant Man in the NBA Finals. Is there
something wrong with that?
Speaker 4 (11:24):
Stop it? Kelvin, Hey, I'll go home. He's only sleeping
because you know you'ren't getting the sleep at night. Now,
that is true.
Speaker 7 (11:33):
Yeah, I can't argue that that might have been the
best thing you said in two hours.
Speaker 4 (11:37):
That is, I know you don't get any sleep. No,
you don't want You don't want to see Cleveland, Minnesota?
Speaker 3 (11:42):
Why not?
Speaker 4 (11:42):
I want to.
Speaker 6 (11:43):
I want to see good, young, exciting. You don't want
to see that yet? Yes I do. I'm okay with that.
Speaker 4 (11:48):
You don't want to see it? All right? Eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox? Where tell you who done?
Adam Silver? Don't want to see that either?
Speaker 6 (11:53):
Yeah, Minnesota, that's how you make stars. Yes, Lebron was
a star with Cleveland because there the very far best
player in the league. Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox.
Do you want to see a changing up the guard?
Lebron looks like he's on his way out. You want
Steph out to?
Speaker 8 (12:11):
Do?
Speaker 4 (12:11):
You want the new younger players? Give me?
Speaker 7 (12:13):
I want I want to give me a Steph or
a Lebron. I need one money somebody. I want both Albus,
Lebron and both Steph.
Speaker 4 (12:20):
Where are you?
Speaker 6 (12:21):
Do you need one of the old guard to stick
stick around to make it interesting for you? Or would
you like to see some fresh blood in these NBA playoffs?
It is The Odd Couple, Rob Parker Kelvin Washington on
a Magic City Monday right here on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 4 (12:36):
Stick and stay for the upcoming greatness of Donovan Mitchell
in the US of AA. It's pretty good.
Speaker 2 (12:45):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and Kelvin Washington weekdays at seven pm
Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the
iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 7 (13:00):
On Lebron Steph right now in the Western Conference finals
barely you got Dave Lillard who just went out. Might
be the last time we see him and Giannis together
with his achilles injury there wishing him the best on
the speedy recovery. But the conversation is you want any
of the old gart still? Are you all over it?
You're done with it, Kevin Durant, I'm done, Lebron. You
want some new guys to me? I want to have
(13:21):
a bunch of new but I needed one more. Steph
run or one more Lebron run. I'd love to see
that too. Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox.
Speaker 6 (13:29):
Rick in Arizona, You're on the odd couple Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 10 (13:33):
What's up, Rick, Well, I'm enjoying your program as always,
say thank.
Speaker 4 (13:38):
You, thank you, Rick, Yes, appreciate you.
Speaker 10 (13:42):
And to answer your immediate question, I want to see
Steve Kerr, Seth Curry, Steph Curry. I want to see
Butler get a ring.
Speaker 4 (13:52):
That's a good point and just.
Speaker 10 (13:55):
Maybe the last time we see that amount of shooting
talent all in the same place. I appreciate all these
young young players and God bless them, they're playing their
tails off out there.
Speaker 4 (14:07):
Okay, we got you, reg Yeah, that's a good point.
Speaker 10 (14:13):
May I digress to the previous discussion real quick?
Speaker 4 (14:17):
What is it? Real quick?
Speaker 10 (14:20):
I am so tired of the noise around this sugar Sanders.
I wish the young man. I'm an old Cleveland Browns
fan from the sixties. I love the opportunity, but the
Browns have not recruited a good quarterback forever.
Speaker 6 (14:34):
No, no, no, and that's why Dion said it. Thanks Rick
about going to Cleveland. You don't want to go there
because it doesn't work.
Speaker 4 (14:41):
Baker and let him go. They made a mistake with Baker.
Speaker 6 (14:44):
Brian in Vegas, You're on the couple of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 4 (14:48):
What's up beat?
Speaker 10 (14:50):
Hey?
Speaker 8 (14:50):
What's going on? Guys?
Speaker 11 (14:51):
I love the show as always, thank you, but you know, Kelvin,
I feel bad for you. Man. This is a typical
Rob Parker take look, come on, Okay, I get it.
I'm I'm a Laker fan, and I've always kind of
had a love hay relationship with Lebron like.
Speaker 4 (15:08):
Most Laker fans.
Speaker 11 (15:09):
Yes, I know, yeah, exactly exactly because I'm a Kobe guy,
so Kobe is the go. But anyway, so I want
to see thee I want to see Steph Curry do
one more run? How the heck are you saying you
want to have the Houston Rockets. They can't even they
can't score, and a half court said, why that's not
good TV?
Speaker 4 (15:29):
It's two to one? Is it isn't it have been swept?
Or is it too to one? No, they can't He's right,
they can't score.
Speaker 11 (15:35):
Like, no, they can't score, So why would we why
would we tune in to watch that?
Speaker 6 (15:39):
I'd rather watch I want to see the young guy FT.
I don't want to see Stuff've seen that Steph Curry movie.
Speaker 4 (15:46):
It is entertaining the Olympics.
Speaker 11 (15:48):
He captivated the Olympics and it was that that four
threes he made.
Speaker 12 (15:52):
In a row that was incredible. I want to see
more of that.
Speaker 4 (15:55):
All right.
Speaker 11 (15:55):
I don't know Lebron w have his farewell run next year.
We already know that he's too vains and not have
a farewell.
Speaker 7 (16:03):
You know he gonna get that. He's gonna say, I
don't even want it. Make sure you're playing that.
Speaker 6 (16:09):
Hey, Scott in pennsyl Tucky, you're on the odd couple
of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Scott, Hey, best show
on the air.
Speaker 4 (16:16):
Thanks appreciation.
Speaker 13 (16:18):
You know I want I want to say, I agree
with mister de Sager. It's too watered down. All these playoffs,
any sport is too watered down. But yes, sorry Calvin,
let's get the old guys out. Let's get the new kids. Yes,
new kids on the block exactly. Let's see okayse in
(16:38):
Cleveland and let's kick Boston to the curves.
Speaker 6 (16:41):
All right, there you go, in the words of Glen
Neeson's from taking good Luck well actually was the bad dude,
And we go taking Sean in Sacramento, sewn Sean.
Speaker 12 (16:58):
Yeah, from another brother, cousin Kelvy, and my brother's behind
the board. What up, Kelvin?
Speaker 4 (17:04):
What up? Baby? Hold on, man, hold on.
Speaker 7 (17:09):
I've never wanted to FaceTime somebody so bad in my life.
So y'all, room, Sacramento. There's no way that you are
not black. I don't care what you tell me. I
don't care what you tell me.
Speaker 12 (17:21):
Let me break it down. Let me break it down.
I grew up across the street. Actually, I grew up
across the street and next door the two brothers part
of the nation Islam. Grew up not knowing what I was.
My parents were out the house all day long. Ended
up just to Round's.
Speaker 5 (17:34):
Point with a bunch of half black kids.
Speaker 12 (17:37):
And you can't tell me nothing. Man, it's out here
in northern California. Talk to Eddie House about it.
Speaker 8 (17:41):
Man.
Speaker 12 (17:41):
We all part of one who.
Speaker 4 (17:43):
Now that is true.
Speaker 7 (17:44):
I've been at you, I've been in the Bay Area,
and blacks and Asians and white they all rock together.
I'll give you that. But yeah, you would have listened.
I told Robert you heard my joke off there. I
couldn't say it on there. I said this, It was
a compliment to you.
Speaker 12 (17:56):
That's what I'm gonna say different languages, so just so
you know it's real, but real quick.
Speaker 5 (18:00):
Man.
Speaker 11 (18:01):
Look, I'm one hundred.
Speaker 12 (18:02):
Percent with Robin. I'm shocked at you on this old head. Hi, Kely,
you're young Detroit Pistons man, them dudes, thank you the
definition of the next generation. I agree you for you
to not want to see guys like that come up.
Speaker 14 (18:15):
They need their chance.
Speaker 12 (18:16):
To your point earlier, we're not going to know what
the next generation is until they get their shot. I'm
tired of seeing these old guys like Lebron whine and
complain trying to get to the free throw line, while
these young guys are out here trying to who not
getting any calls. We want the new generation. We tied
these old heads.
Speaker 4 (18:30):
Man and Sean.
Speaker 6 (18:32):
We had great seats at the game. It was awesome
to hang out with you and your friends.
Speaker 4 (18:36):
It was great.
Speaker 12 (18:37):
It was amazing. Hey, hey, Alex will be proud. I
got a vegan hot dog and all the vendors were
laughing at me.
Speaker 6 (18:42):
Bro and guess what, Alex. Guess who paid for the meal?
Ron Parker, Yes, what a man? Sean bought the ticket.
I paid for the meal. You did that with the coupon.
I don't even know how you did it. A coupon
from long.
Speaker 7 (18:57):
Distance sean like Steph Curry. I bet you did.
Speaker 6 (19:02):
Hey, let's go to Mike in Nevada. You're in the
couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Mike.
Speaker 8 (19:10):
Got me?
Speaker 4 (19:11):
Yes, we got you?
Speaker 11 (19:13):
Hey.
Speaker 5 (19:13):
I hate to say it to you boys. I hear you.
I hear you every day on this ride. But it's
all about the Bay Area. And until these young guys
can impress the rest of the world the way Steph has,
it's they're never going to take over because nobody is
exciting as what he has done during his run. I mean,
he always excites the fans.
Speaker 15 (19:35):
You know that.
Speaker 5 (19:36):
He's he's must see TV.
Speaker 6 (19:38):
Except for those times they lost in the Playing games, right,
the three times they lost in the Playing Games.
Speaker 5 (19:43):
But you know what, I don't know why you and
all the other media want to just promote all these
young guys with initials for names.
Speaker 4 (19:56):
Kat who else we got? I love that?
Speaker 6 (20:00):
That's for ants. Jeff in Virginia, you're in the couple
of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 4 (20:06):
What's up, Jeff?
Speaker 14 (20:08):
Hey Man, I'm split decision, you know Stephen's box officers
have to see even when he loses a series, it's
entertained just to see him perform. But the rest of
him I.
Speaker 12 (20:21):
Love to see.
Speaker 14 (20:22):
You know, Oklahoma puts on a great game. Yeah, the
outstanding CLA. So all these young teams are great, and
I just can't wait for the boat or a vote
or whatever they want to call him to get out
of the playoffs this time. First, wend I wish people
would stop his boat compensations.
Speaker 4 (20:42):
Yes, please, I'm with you. Stop it.
Speaker 14 (20:44):
It's over.
Speaker 16 (20:45):
It's over.
Speaker 12 (20:46):
Stop it.
Speaker 7 (20:47):
Well you wanted so many people do not have ratings,
is what he's saying. Is a lot of the shows
ain't gonna have to do it. What do you call him?
Speaker 4 (20:53):
I know Tom Brady's the load?
Speaker 6 (20:54):
Well what is Lebron the foul f f o at
finals failure of all time?
Speaker 4 (21:02):
The fote?
Speaker 7 (21:03):
I'm not dealing with you, Okay, Steve the Seger, can
you please tell us what is trending?
Speaker 4 (21:06):
My friend?
Speaker 9 (21:09):
Let's say first regarding this Cleveland Miami first round series.
The last game that result was Miami's worst ever playoff loss.
They're down by even more tonight. They've started the fourth
quarter it's the Cavs one sixteen to sixty five against
the Mine.
Speaker 6 (21:27):
We saw a shot of pat Riley. Yeah, it looked
like he turned the stone.
Speaker 4 (21:32):
He's just read it.
Speaker 6 (21:34):
Move.
Speaker 4 (21:34):
It was furious, like might actually be pat right.
Speaker 7 (21:37):
I I told you this might be it for Patu.
Speaker 9 (21:40):
The lead for Cleveland late first quarter was thirty five
to eight. Late second quarter it was seventy to twenty five.
Just for the record, AP says the most lopsided sweep
ever the Magic plus one oh one scoring against the
Hawks in a second round series in twenty ten in
four games plus one one oh one. The Calves have
(22:02):
outscored the Heat by more than that so far in
this four game series. And again it's not over one
nineteen sixty eight.
Speaker 6 (22:10):
I would have thought when you gave out that stat
that the Washington Generals would be attached to it.
Speaker 4 (22:17):
That's a great points. So bad actually what it is.
Speaker 7 (22:20):
See, it's so bad like the Calves or they're put
in their bench, they're gonna have to just go find
somebody in the crowd, like you might want to go
play me a cacause we can't.
Speaker 4 (22:27):
We don't, like, we don't want to keep beating them.
This back.
Speaker 9 (22:29):
Donovan Mitchell is sitting curly Neil is in the game. Yeah, exactly,
thank you, going very much.
Speaker 4 (22:35):
And no Galland you know Galland's not even.
Speaker 9 (22:37):
No Sweet Loue. Dunbar's in there.
Speaker 4 (22:40):
Man in the post is alex is so good. You
see Donovan bounce off the trampoline for that dunk.
Speaker 7 (22:45):
That was nice, so cool. Let me go get my
daughter some popcorn. Go ahead, continue Steve.
Speaker 9 (22:49):
The late games at Golden States in about a half
an hour. The Warriors have two games to one hosting Houston.
Jimmy Butler or the Warriors due to return after the
fall last week in the NHL playoffs. It's still the
Lightning two to one leaders at the Panthers, about five
minutes left in regulation. The late game about to start
Colorado at Dallas. The Penguins fired coach Mike Sullivan to
(23:10):
Major League Baseball. The Tigers are leading three to two
at Houston in the bottom of the fifth. Minnesota won
eleven to one at Cleveland. Twins have won six of seven.
The Mets won nineteen to five at Washington today. Brandon
Nimo two homers, nine extra boys.
Speaker 4 (23:26):
That is correct.
Speaker 9 (23:27):
Oh, the bad thing for Nimmo he's about to come
up for his last at bat, a couple guys on
an infielder is pitching in the ninth inning, he can
get more than a nine RBI game. The teammate right
before him hit a three home, three run homer and
cleared the pen.
Speaker 5 (23:40):
That was.
Speaker 9 (23:43):
Baltimore beat the Yankees for to three. The O's lead
was for nothing going to the seventh. Cincinnati won its
fifth straight game three to one over Saint Louis, and
currently the Rockies, with a record of four and twenty three,
are leading the Braves three to two in the bottom
of the third. By the way, it's official, Dodger pitcher
Tyler Glah snow goes on the injure list. Pitcher Blake
Sneill already hurt, also a shoulder. Dodgers currently with thirteen
(24:06):
pitchers on the il.
Speaker 6 (24:07):
This is what we talk about every year when when
they load up on pitching and you said, think you
have a nu oh, we got too many guys.
Speaker 4 (24:13):
You never have too much pitch.
Speaker 9 (24:14):
They're going with a bullpen game tomorrow.
Speaker 4 (24:17):
Dog, here we are here, we are in April.
Speaker 9 (24:20):
And we're gonna have to actually have Tony Gonsoling come
up from the miners off the il to pitch on Wednesday,
or else they would have back to back days with
bullpen games.
Speaker 7 (24:30):
Crazy crazy, well, I mean you know, either way, Dodgers bullpen,
smooth pin starters, still get it done, win World Series.
Speaker 6 (24:36):
Okay, try that again. That worked out. It did work out.
I just like messing with you. Thank you, Steve, appreciate it.
Go back to this Harlem Gold Trotter game we're watching here.
My goodness, this is insane.
Speaker 7 (24:49):
Uh, this is literally like I mean, at this point,
you're giving it like you just want to walk away?
Speaker 4 (24:54):
Can they forfeit? Since seeing a question like can't?
Speaker 7 (24:59):
We are making it out. Both teams have agreed, y'all.
Go on ahead, go home, it's over. Go ahead, get
an early start to your day tomorrow, folks. You wonder
if that could happen? My goodness. All right, I couple
robing Kelvin on the Magic City Monday. My goodness, this
is an absolute beat down there watching right now.
Speaker 4 (25:15):
Rob By the way, we were having a co and
we do one A real quick mark from Sacramento.
Speaker 6 (25:19):
Yeah he texted, and oh yeah, yeah he's Uh it's time.
You know, I've been calling for it for two years now.
He's in for the youth movement as well.
Speaker 4 (25:28):
Ye oh yeah, man, shout out to him.
Speaker 7 (25:29):
Man, it was good to see that you were able
to see him and allegedly you met Sean from Sacramento.
Speaker 4 (25:33):
Because there's no way Shawn is not black. Yeo, yeah,
there's no way that commits me. Anyway.
Speaker 7 (25:41):
Well, go sticking with us some of this conversation. We're
talking about Rob with the NBA and what I do.
Want to go back to this Pistons. We were having
some people calling in about the Pistons. I've enjoyed this series. Obviously,
you and I got a bet going on, and if
what is all bet? Uh pair of Jordan's which at
this point just send me the picture. It's just go
ahead and send me the picture.
Speaker 4 (25:59):
I haven't looking at him. I don't do that.
Speaker 6 (26:01):
I don't do the Chris Boussol the Chris remember that Alex,
the Chris Bussard. We had a bet on the Nationals
and the Dodgers and it was a five game series.
Speaker 4 (26:10):
The Dodgers won the first two games.
Speaker 6 (26:12):
Chris went to foot locker, tried on the Jordan's pictures,
send pictures of the ones that he wanted and and
then the Nationals won the next three games, and.
Speaker 4 (26:22):
He tapped into the source. What did I say that night?
You just drinked yourself. It was even worse, got him
Bordens I picked out. He didn't like the ones I got.
Remember that?
Speaker 7 (26:35):
Okay, Hell, he sapped into the source too. He was
supposed to be like Lord, let me tell it was
about to happen. Let me well, I guess Lord would
have been mad happy that he's betting on stuff.
Speaker 11 (26:43):
There.
Speaker 6 (26:43):
You didn't want to drop to your knees.
Speaker 7 (26:48):
Yes we know that, but no, I've really enjoyed that
Pisson next series, despite you know, obviously having rooting interest
for the Pistons. Obviously they're young, they're playing without their
second best player in Jay n Ivy, but they're they're impeeding.
Speaker 4 (27:00):
Man, it can't close.
Speaker 6 (27:02):
And that is right, And that's why I didn't think
they were gonna win. I really did, not that they're
not a good team and turned it around. I just
I thought that I would be shocked if the Knicks
lost to them. You know what I mean from the experience,
and you know, you just saw Kate had a chance
he did to really like elevate like that would have
(27:25):
been a shot a moment at.
Speaker 4 (27:27):
Home on the front row, Chauncey, Ben Wallace all there.
Speaker 6 (27:31):
It was a moment he had a look and he
then knocked it down. He had a bad turnover lay
in the game as well. I think he missed two shots.
They had a chance that.
Speaker 7 (27:40):
He was able to witness again even at you know,
in defeat Jalen Brunton. Jalen Brunton got hurt. I don't
know if he twisted it ain't going came back out,
came back out, balled up. I think it was fifteen
and the fourth. So and by the way, I'm a
person who likes to give props and credit with its due.
I called on Cat to be more Cat Carly Towns
than not Cat Williams, and he has been Catty three
(28:01):
to Larry Bird behind the backboard shot a couple of
nice legers hit a big three. So that was what
the challenge with a lot of people with him is
would make some frustrating. Is he had that old school
Anthony Davis where you're like, you had thirty five and
eighteen to night the next time you had, you know,
eighteen and eight and just didn't look interested. Carl everytown
(28:23):
does that where you're like, this is maddening. But to
credit them, and I think Kate needed to see.
Speaker 4 (28:28):
Came to Detroit and they showed up.
Speaker 7 (28:30):
They have and I like, I think Kate needed to
see that, not only just Kate, but the team as well.
Speaker 10 (28:34):
Uh.
Speaker 7 (28:34):
And I think Jay and Ivy they're one of Again,
there's probably the second best player watching right now. They're
gonna be in a good play. So, uh, this was
good serious for them. You gotta go through it. They're
battling right now, both teams, and I like, and despite
that call, they're going back to New York, I do it.
It's gonna be tough. That's gonna be a tough one
to win. I think they can pull it off because
every time a team like they had and they played
(28:55):
better than seventy five sixty seventy percent of the game.
Speaker 4 (28:58):
I just think if you're the Knicks, you gotta win
that one.
Speaker 6 (29:00):
When you go to Detroit and win both, you got
to say to yourself, okay, you know what I mean, Like,
if it's split, okay, we got to play off the series.
If you can't come back home after that, you know what,
I meant to win one of those Detroit because you
were up. That's what I'm saying, twenty one oh run.
Speaker 7 (29:15):
So they've been playing very well, and that's a great
it's a great sign for hopefully for them for things
to come.
Speaker 4 (29:19):
You definitely want to take it for granted.
Speaker 7 (29:21):
But I've enjoyed the series because also too, it's a
throwback to they're letting them play both sides. You know,
obviously don't want to last second shot on the file
on the shot, but they've been letting them play both teams.
Speaker 4 (29:32):
Has been physical, it's been competitive.
Speaker 6 (29:34):
Remember in New York a lot of the files went
to Detroit specifically, remember that. And I even said to you,
you watch and see they'll they'll be an adjustment, you
know what I mean, Like there will be.
Speaker 7 (29:47):
And I'll just I've liked some of the not this
Miami Cleveland series, but I've liked the competitive edge that
I've seen in some of these series. Man, I've really
enjoyed We'll get ting about the Pistons next. I like
what I've seen in this Denver, Denver and Clippers, even
in Rockets and the Rockets and Warriors been going at
It's been chippy, and I've just enjoyed you got Jalen
(30:09):
Green talking smack about Draymond. All he can do is
talk to maat and he can't even play. I just
enjoyed the a little bit of edge obviously the Lakers
and Minnesota of going back and forth at it. This
has just been competitive, and I think it's great. You
and I talked earlier at the beginning of the season,
what does the league need? You got your star players
still playing, and then the Lebron's and the staff still
showing up in Lucas, but also these younger guys playing, right,
(30:32):
I agree, and.
Speaker 6 (30:32):
I'm serious, Like Hade, if you look at it, even
if you look at GA we talked about it before.
Along with the wool changes for baseball. Look at all
the young stars that have cars. You gotta have young
That's how you grow the game. You know, you just
can't rely on the same old, same old. There was
a transition period where a lot of the great players,
(30:55):
Barry Bonds, Roger all those guys, they all retired, you
know what I mean, And then baseball hit all didn't
have as many stars.
Speaker 4 (31:01):
And now you look on all these teams, Paul Skins
and Pickings Coons, you got testis Junior got with you
know what I mean.
Speaker 6 (31:08):
Yeah, they're just there's stars everywhere, and uh that's what
you know.
Speaker 7 (31:12):
You need that you need the perfect balance. If we
got the Q raiding people, you know what I mean,
the people that draw names because you can also you
want something and just to kill still keep people the
casual fan because I know the name. Oh Steph Curry's playing,
I'll watch because I know stell Oh Lebron, I'll watch
because I know Lebron. You need the Q rating guys.
Kevin Durant's playing, Okay, but then while they're watching, think
how many people are watching right now just playoffs, just
(31:33):
at a bar at their friend's house. Yeah, I'm not
really keeping up the league too much, but I'm watching
Steff and if they to your point, see I'm on
Thompson and Jalen Green. Ball for the Rockets is not
oh shoot this Rocket team. Or if they're watching all
Lakers Lakers, you know, of course I want to watch
the Lakers and they see ant Man and they're like, man,
this is Anthony Thomas, I mean Anthony Edwards.
Speaker 4 (31:50):
K it is okay.
Speaker 7 (31:51):
You need that perfect balance to me, and that's what
you're starting to get right now in the league.
Speaker 4 (31:55):
All Right, it's that time already, already, let's do it.
Last Call eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox eight
seven seven ninety nine.
Speaker 7 (32:02):
On Fox, we talked about a lot throughout the show.
You couldn't get in. Guess what your chance to do?
So now hits being nice? We might take a couple
of extra be a nice only because of Chador. They
might want to get in on what else we're being nice?
You always see that's what happens, Alex. You go out there,
buy a few hot dogs. Now you want to be nice.
Say I bought hot dogs, Alex, I have the receipt.
I'm writing it off. Now I see the receipt. I
(32:24):
know you're writing it off.
Speaker 4 (32:25):
And you a picture no coupon at the ballpark. But
I was trying to sweet talk one of these I
know you were. I was trying to figure out, can
I get another extra hot dog? Nobody came screaming, Oh
my gosh, MLV Brown New Orleans. I had to move
the sour croud.
Speaker 7 (32:41):
Okay, all right, Fox Switch Radio, it's last call time on.
Speaker 11 (32:46):
The odd couple.
Speaker 2 (32:47):

whole show, where's your chimney?
Speaker 4 (32:54):

Speaker 2 (32:55):

Speaker 4 (32:58):

The last Come, Last call time on the Oddcome.
Speaker 4 (34:09):
You got a tissue for me? You believe it's calling
in calling it what's going on, gentlemen?
Speaker 6 (34:16):
It is Mark from Sacramanteau. You're on the couple of
Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 4 (34:20):
What's up, Mark?
Speaker 8 (34:21):
What's going on? Gentlemen? How do you guys doing to
the whole crew, how you guys doing excellent?
Speaker 11 (34:26):
Man?
Speaker 4 (34:26):
What's up?
Speaker 16 (34:27):
Mark?
Speaker 11 (34:29):
Hey?
Speaker 8 (34:29):
Ye? My last call is this. I agree with you
guys about about the chindon of the guard and it
has already taken place. And if you didn't think it
was taking place, I kept saying the word experience, and
I always say there's a fine line between the experience
and age.
Speaker 12 (34:42):
And you saw it.
Speaker 8 (34:43):
On in Minnesota Lakers yesterday. You saw a forty year
old Lebron James do everything he could, but in the
fourth quarter had nothing left. And you saw a twenty
three year Anthony Anthony, that was who played twenty four
minutes too in the second half, act like it was
the first quarter. He was still going strong. You can
see age is deferring to youth. It happens in every sport.
(35:05):
It's happening right. Just look around.
Speaker 12 (35:07):
Don't take my word for it.
Speaker 8 (35:08):
Just look and I don't and I think what's gonna happen.
Speaker 12 (35:10):
Is looking Anthony.
Speaker 8 (35:12):
It was done just in the past calendar year he has.
He had the big three in Phoenix, faced them down,
face down Joker, He's about to face down Luca and Lebron.
And in the next round, if Kurry gets there, he
may face him down. He may change, he may change
the whole outlook who we're looking at by himself. He
may change the God by himself in the next year.
That's why he's beating. He's beat them all the fun
(35:33):
just like Jordan did.
Speaker 4 (35:34):
Know you're right.
Speaker 8 (35:35):
Jordan beat all those guys in front of you. Mark
Anthony took the same path.
Speaker 4 (35:39):
Mark. You ain't wrong.
Speaker 6 (35:40):
When you're right, You're right, no doubt a Mark. It
was great meeting you, and good luck with the book.
Speaker 4 (35:45):
Yes, sorryiate you we lose him. He's gone.
Speaker 7 (35:49):
He's gone, he's gone. All right, you're being kind out here.
Speaker 4 (35:52):
Yeah, let's do.
Speaker 6 (35:53):
James in West Virginia, you're the last call as well
the I couple box boards radio.
Speaker 7 (35:59):
Yes, what's up James, James that he's probably heard market
figured I ain't got no shot.
Speaker 6 (36:06):
Jimmy in North Carolina, you're on the couple of Fox
Sports reading what's up Jimmy?
Speaker 17 (36:11):
Hey, what's up?
Speaker 8 (36:11):
Guys?
Speaker 4 (36:12):
How are you.
Speaker 12 (36:13):
I'm good.
Speaker 8 (36:14):
I'm good.
Speaker 15 (36:14):
So you guys are talking about the old guard who
you want to see goes to the final then win
it this year. But one reason and one reason only,
I want it to be Lebron. I want him to win,
and I want the goat debate to be settled.
Speaker 6 (36:27):
Well, it's not going to be settled because they're gonna
get knocked out in the first round.
Speaker 4 (36:31):
Wait, hold on, it'll be settled now.
Speaker 7 (36:32):
Well, if he wins, it'll be settled in favor of
him or not him.
Speaker 15 (36:37):
I think I think if he wins, it'll be settled
in favor of him, and he needs to go out
with the bang.
Speaker 8 (36:44):
Other than that, give me, give me, give me the
new guys.
Speaker 5 (36:47):
You know we're ready to roll onto the next chapter.
Speaker 4 (36:49):
All right, okay, sounds good. I mean I would be
what would that be? Five rings?
Speaker 6 (36:55):
Nay, he's going out in the first round and you're
trying to talk about five rings' stop.
Speaker 4 (36:59):
Knock out Jimmy's ypothetical.
Speaker 6 (37:02):
Hey, Craig in Texas, Craig in Texas, the Fox Sports Rader,
you got a bonus last called what's up?
Speaker 4 (37:09):
Buddy?
Speaker 17 (37:10):
Nothing much on my way to the job, But I
wanted to talk about mister Jack because he's a prank call.
Speaker 4 (37:15):
Yes, oh yeah, yeah?
Speaker 17 (37:18):
So what is he called another female that was associated
with the NFL. Would it be so casual?
Speaker 12 (37:24):
No, it wouldn't.
Speaker 17 (37:25):
I mean, first of all, he hacked his daddy's tablet,
he called his man, stalking him. You can't do that, NFL.
What are your protocols?
Speaker 6 (37:34):
Well, I mean you could get on his dad for
leaving his uh you know, information, but it's a prank
by college kid. I'm sorry. I'm not coming down on
the kid. He didn't kill anybody. He didn't.
Speaker 4 (37:46):
He wasn't voting, so like live stream himself doing it.
Speaker 6 (37:52):
Because that's what kids do you talk about all the time,
these kids, I asked you all the time. He said,
that's what you can't do. Well that is, And why
are you shocked because you have a.
Speaker 7 (38:02):
Vote to My only reason why I was shot video,
My main reason why I was shocking because of who
his daddy is.
Speaker 4 (38:08):
Don't matter.
Speaker 7 (38:08):
He's that's the note college kid meaning if he pranked
a regular person, fine, because he's just being a college kid.
You pranked somebody using your daddy's info and all that
good stuff, knowing your dad, that that part.
Speaker 4 (38:19):
I don't know all the time. Prank. I mean to
see the look on your Door's face. What I can't
believe you? You have no love? No, you don't I love.
Looka goes back. He's emotional on the sideline. Crocodile here
and even make crocodile tres. You have no emotion. You're
heartless out here.
Speaker 6 (38:34):
Ow you you were shocked. You thought I was gonna
come down on the kid on the college kid.
Speaker 4 (38:39):
Yeah, I thought you would say I was actually that
you would say.
Speaker 7 (38:42):
Look, even though I didn't take the door, you know,
should be drafted in the first round. He's still a human.
He still has a heart. And this is the biggest moment.
Speaker 4 (38:49):
Is funny. It was funny. It's okay. Let you know
Goodwell we pranked him with Rob like that. He'll be sad.
It'd be over. Hey, this is MLB. We're putting you
in on the Hall of Fame.
Speaker 7 (38:58):
Suck Rob, you would give me, give me hello darkness
my old friend you robbed her would be the saddest
person on earth if I did that, dude, you would
never come back on this show. It just be all
cool with me, Like, hey up, calv.
Speaker 4 (39:14):
How in the world could you do that to somebody?
I would do it. My gosh, look at this final score.
They dribble out the clock.
Speaker 6 (39:18):
Here, one thirty eight to eighty three to eighty three.
I want to say, I want to say one thirty
eight to thirty eight.
Speaker 4 (39:26):
I know, man, That's why.
Speaker 6 (39:29):
It was Cleveland beating in Washington. General's one thirty eight.
Speaker 4 (39:33):
These top seams are taking care of business Cleveland, okay. See.
And then would you want that final or you want
the Celtic out of the East. No, I would take that,
take that out a new guard. Yeah, give me Celtics. Woman.
What's some all trash talking Tuesday? Get ready for that
trash talking you already?
Speaker 6 (39:48):
The Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon is coming up next.
Speaker 2 (39:51):
I never miss your radio show.
Speaker 4 (39:53):
I never hear it, so I never miss it. Did
you hear that? A double front flip?
