Speaker 2 (01:41):
Or is there I celebrated it today?

Speaker 4 (01:43):
Are you serious?

Speaker 5 (01:44):
I swear because you know me. I'm like Rob Parker Junior,
where I'm registered for the freebiest everywhere.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
All good point you are so earlier today.

Speaker 5 (01:52):
I knew I was gonna pick up the older one
from school early because they got half whatever reason, got
half days for three weeks start the year.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
That makes no sense to me.

Speaker 5 (01:58):
Every day, every day they half days every day until
Labor Day or to labor.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
Yeah, I don't know about that life. I thought it
was just a Tuesday or whatever.

Speaker 5 (02:05):
You don't know, because I'm in public school education. I
know you go to private school, so we're not the same.
You don't know, but at any events, one of the
freebies I have is free Krispy Kreme for your birthday,
you get a three pack for free. And I was like,
that'd be a good surprise for her, you know, pick
her up at from school and hey, guess what I
got you?

Speaker 2 (02:23):
Me a be a donut? You a donut in mama do?
We don't have one? So pick that up.

Speaker 5 (02:28):
While I was picking that up, I got an email says, hey,
Buffalo Wildween's got six more weeks.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
Coming your way for your birthday. I'm like, well, might
as well have that this weekend.

Speaker 5 (02:36):
So it's gonna be ongoing probably till at least September ninth, tenth.

Speaker 4 (02:40):
Here you are taking any shots, it ain't none of
it gonna work.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
Jokes on you.

Speaker 5 (02:44):
I'm down fifteen, bro, fifteen no workouts get on this level,
Mantis shaking her head around. Manti's been taking the stairs
every day and running like twice a week to try
to you know to some Alb's.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
And Jones take it because I just read a whole
thing about some of the significant things are finding out
on specifically for women who are using Ozmpics.

Speaker 6 (03:05):
So I won't because my friend before it became a thing,
my friend got her hands on it first, before anyone
heard of it. Yeah, she has friends who work in entertainment,
like gossip, they cover that stuff. So she got it
and she's like, dude, it sucks because you just don't
feel well. Remember I told you robbed. She was like,
I don't enjoy food and I love food so much.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
Well where are you are you still enjoying it or
what's your.

Speaker 5 (03:28):
Yeah, I just can't eat much of it, Like I'll
have one meal a day basically.

Speaker 6 (03:32):
Yeah, no, see I can't. I want three meals a day.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
You gotta get all three meals in one meal, and
you get all.

Speaker 6 (03:39):
But you're forcing yourself to eat because you don't even
enjoying it.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
That's true.

Speaker 3 (03:43):
See, No, I like can't.

Speaker 6 (03:44):
I can't say. I have been running and I'm I'm
just not married.

Speaker 3 (03:47):
I did waits today.

Speaker 6 (03:48):
I can feel my legs because I choose to eat
the pizza.

Speaker 5 (03:53):
You can eat all the pizza. I got some leftover
if you want me to give it to you.

Speaker 6 (03:58):
Yes, I will take all the pizza. Oh no, no, no,
Noall is looking at me.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
This zoos so upset. He's like, you probably knows we'd
get the shots.

Speaker 4 (04:06):
I ain't gonna lie. I did one three. You can
have them.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
Three to four weeks, lose about seven eight pounds and
I'll be straight.

Speaker 6 (04:14):
Is it is so annoying that it's like, I know,
just give me three to four weeks and I can't.
I have no self control. It's like, no, I'm just
gonna work out so I can eat more.

Speaker 5 (04:21):
You've got to wait till like this time next month
when the baby's in daycare full time and I'll be
able to work out every day.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
Oh my gosh, you're gonna pass out.

Speaker 5 (04:30):
Probably probably have no caloric intake, you know, to balance
it out, and I'm just gonna die.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
That's funny, but it's I'm gonna look good.

Speaker 6 (04:36):
When I do it, at least like Kelly Kapor in
the office.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
Yes, all right, well so yeah, shout out to Robbie
down fifteen And here we are, Monty and I trying
our best to walk, eat right, do everything.

Speaker 4 (04:47):
Really showing the struggle bus.

Speaker 1 (04:49):
Let's get it it is, Robbie. We were talking about
INFRA was on yesterday. We had a conversation about just
some of the teams we what we expect from.

Speaker 4 (04:56):
We were talking about the forty nine Ers.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
The Commanders are a team that a lot of people
have high hopes for going into this season, especially with
the surprise season they ended up having last season with
a twelve and five. Jayson Daniels played outstanding, They beat
the Lions in the postseason and Jaysan Daniels looked like
the greatest quarterback to.

Speaker 4 (05:12):
Ever walk the earth.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
So now here we are where they're having some difficulties,
and that is when it comes to their star receiver,
Terry McLaurin. And when you look at what he has
been for this team, rob g it is remarkable what
he's been over the last you know, it's really his
whole career, but specifically the last few seasons. You're looking
at a guy who's getting over a thousand yards every
year except the first year he had nine to nineteen,

(05:34):
so he was close there. Last year spectacular one thousand yard,
almost eleven hundred and eighty two receptions and at thirteen
touchdowns as well, first time he got into double digits,
and not only double digits, got all the way up
to thirteen. So he is a guy they will be
leaning heavily on. But he's in a contract dispute right now,
and when you start to look at the money situation,
they're not quite where they want to be. He wants

(05:55):
something to be more on their on the average annual
for value, looking at a like a DK Metcalf, somebody
he's looking at with that Steeler deal, saying all right,
he's got thirty three ms, I should be around that.
But the commanders are looking at saying, naw, bro, we're
a little more comfortable paying you about twenty seven twenty eight.
So it's hairs being split over about five six million
dollars depending on how you look at it.

Speaker 4 (06:15):
So there's concern there.

Speaker 1 (06:18):
But when they asked their star player, Jaydon Daniels, he said,
I ain't worried about it. He just said, to quote
him there, he said, I just know it's gonna work out.

Speaker 4 (06:27):
I feel great.

Speaker 1 (06:28):
I just know that it's all gonna work out and
that both sides will come to an agreement and Terry's
gonna be back out here. We're gonna be throwing some
passes to him. And we also know that they also
made a trade as well, trading running back Brian Robinson Junior,
so they got rid of somebody for the next year's
six round pick with the forty nine ers. So they're
losing offensive guys. You got your star offensive player not

(06:50):
even in right now and seems to be having issues
with the team. With all that being said, rob G,
I expect the Commanders to still compete for one of
the top spots in the NFC.

Speaker 4 (07:04):
I still expect the Commanders.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
To be moving right along because, similar to our Michael
Parsons conversation, Terry McLaurin is gonna be on that field now.
He's been keeping it real. He's been upset, he hasn't
liked it, he's felt slighted. I hear him, and I
appreciate that, and I can also respect it.

Speaker 4 (07:23):
But eventually they're gonna come to terms.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
When get the deal done, because they know they have
something special brewing, and that Commanders have not had something
special brewing for a very long time, and you want
to take full advantage of this, and you don't want
to leave a guy like Jaydon Daniels out there without it.
And when you look at their offense last year, they
were able to move the ball very well. They rushed
the ball to the two third in the NFL. They

(07:45):
total offense was high up there as well, one of
the best in the league when you're talking about total offense,
and we know what Jaydon Daniels was.

Speaker 4 (07:52):
Jay Daniels was able to do.

Speaker 1 (07:54):
Their defense was not great, so part of that is
gonna be You're gonna have to outscore some teams. Now,
the pass RUSS was great, that was third. The dip
pass defense was third, only giving up about a buck
eighty nine a game, one hundred and eighty nine yards
rush defense. A lot to still be desired there, but
I expect them to be able to compete. I expect
them to still be looking at a top.

Speaker 4 (08:14):
Two to three in the NFC.

Speaker 1 (08:16):
Maybe it's the Eagles, maybe it's them, maybe it's the Lions,
maybe the Bucks and Rams, but those are kind of
the teams I'm looking at to be competing in the conference.
They absolutely gonna get this deal done and still have
a really good offense and still have a chance to compete.
I'm looking at their schedule now, the schedule has them
ranked with the eighth most difficult schedule to me, but

(08:36):
I don't quite see that. I don't think some of
these teams are as good as as they're maybe projected,
or they're gonna take a step back a little bit.

Speaker 4 (08:44):
And I like the Bears.

Speaker 1 (08:46):
I mean, that's gonna be not an easy one, but
I think you can beat the Bears.

Speaker 4 (08:49):
That's gonna be an earlier one.

Speaker 1 (08:51):
They got the Falcons, that could be an easier one
for them as well. The Raiders to be better, but
that could be something you know, you get a win,
And so I'm looking at this early run they have.
The Seahawk shouldn't be necessarily world beaters. The Dolphins. Dolphins,
we still don't know. So they've got some earlier games
where they can still make some strides in their division.
And I expect Jayde Daniels to take a He's not

(09:15):
going to be catching people by surprise. I fully am
aware of that, but I don't expect him to take
a major step back as some other guys have done
their second year. And I think they're going to be
a very competitive team in the NFC East and let
alone the NFC as a whole.

Speaker 5 (09:30):
Dub You may not be on that with GOV, but
you're smoking something all right. For you to not be
worried about the Washington Commanders on this Friday, August the
twenty second is crazy to me because they just traded
away their top rusher from last season. They currently do
not have their number one receiver on the active roster

(09:52):
at this point. Their big free agent trade acquisition of
the offseason was Deebo Samuel, who last time we saw
him was about twenty pounds overweight and looking. I'm not
gonna call him wash, but he's presaked right now.

Speaker 4 (10:05):
They don't call him debo for no reason.

Speaker 2 (10:06):
He's presaked, okay in the Washington machine.

Speaker 5 (10:09):
And here's the other thing about the Washington Commanders that
people got to realize before they start filling out their
preseason predictions. Number One, they had statistically the greatest fourth
quarter or excuse me, fourth down team in NFL history.
I think they converts him like eighty percent of their
fourth downs last year, which is an anomoly anomaly. History says,

(10:35):
that's gonna regress, you know, sixty Even if you're fifty
percent on fourth down, that's a good number, but it's
not eighty percent, right, So that's gonna come down to earth.

Speaker 2 (10:44):
And here's the other thing.

Speaker 5 (10:47):
Jaden Daniels, who I think we all agree is is
one of the you know, the next guys to Anger
that mahomes Borough, Lamar Allen Tier. The reality of the
situation is this last season, Jayden Daniels beat one top
ten defense. Eight of his wins came against teams in

(11:09):
the bottom ten defensively. Here's the other thing. Here's the
list of quarterbacks that Jayde and Daniels beat during that
incredible twelve win season. Trey Lance, Michael Pennix, Kenny Pickett,
Spencer Rattler, Will Levis, Caleb Williams, Deshaun Watson, Kyler Murray,

(11:30):
Joe Burrow, and Daniel Jones twice. Outside of Joe Burrow.

Speaker 2 (11:37):
That is the mediocre to bad quarterback qb ons in
the NFL.

Speaker 5 (11:44):
That is all lower tier. You're lucky that you're currently
at QB one because we just don't have the money
or the draft assets to get anybody better than you. Again,
I believe in Jayne and Daniels long term. I think
he's gonna be phenomenal, But.

Speaker 2 (12:00):
As we saw with CJ.

Speaker 5 (12:01):
Stroud last season, improvement is not always linear. Just because
he was great last season and he had this miracle
run to the NFC Championship game and they blew the
doors off your Detroit Lions does not mean that they're
just gonna take another step forward next season. I would
not be shocked right now if not only do they

(12:22):
not compete for the NFC Crown, I wouldn't be shocked
if they missed the playoffs entirely because you're banking on
too many things to break your way again, and history
says it doesn't work like that in the NFL.

Speaker 4 (12:34):
So here's the thing.

Speaker 1 (12:36):
When you talk about a guy, and similar to Jaydon Daniels,
I don't believe that everybody has to necessarily regress because
we've also seen where some guys continue to get better.
Right when we first saw Patrick Mahomes, and if I
told you what he would be, you would have said, yeah,
right right, he wouldn't believe it. You'd be like, no
way he's gonna be that. Not everybody has to take

(12:58):
steps backward. Lamar Jackson continue to what get better, Josh
Allen continue to do what get better. Jalen Hurts got better,
but there's still something to be desired, but he's also
going to Super Bowls and winning one of them.

Speaker 4 (13:11):
So my point is.

Speaker 1 (13:12):
Not everybody has to take step back, step steps back.

Speaker 4 (13:16):
Some guys can continue to get better.

Speaker 1 (13:18):
And also you mentioned a handful of those quarterbacks that
were back.

Speaker 4 (13:22):
First of all, what we also know is.

Speaker 1 (13:25):
Some of these teams that they're going to be playing
the quarterback that, for instance, Kayleb Williams, we expect.

Speaker 4 (13:29):
Them to be better.

Speaker 1 (13:30):
But what if he's not, They're gonna have the Seahawks right.
Sam Donald looked MVP candidate candidate ish last year. Sam
Donald might not be that again with Kevin O'Connell. He
might go back and regress to Sam Donald as we
knew him. In fact, that would be more likely given
the years in which he has not been great. So
I got him. We still don't even know, and I

(13:52):
don't say this being joking. I say this respectively. Toua
might not even be healthy when they play the Dolphins.
We know he has been going through it. So looking
at the Giants, who is a dark is a Russell Wilson,
And so looking at some of this this schedule, you
mentioned Michael Pennick Junior beating him last year I get
to play him again, and I look at the Raiders.

Speaker 4 (14:14):
You know, Gino should be solid.

Speaker 1 (14:16):
I don't think anybody expects, you know to be horrible,
But to me, these are still games that I go
in and I feel I'd be feeling pretty confident with
as well.

Speaker 4 (14:24):
But we also know they're gonna be.

Speaker 1 (14:26):
Teams in the NFL who are either solid to good,
hair good and take steps backwards. So some of these
teams on paper, you go, oh, man, they should be good,
and maybe they don't, because you know, we have often
times top teams go to bad and the worst go
to first.

Speaker 4 (14:41):
We've seen that as well, So some.

Speaker 1 (14:43):
Of these teams on the schedule we expect things from,
Like they play the Cowboys, so all I should be
a good we don't know exactly what the Cowboys are
gonna be and so there in lies the question too,
rob g, who do you believe is gonna have a
chance to go from worse to first in the NFL.

Speaker 4 (15:02):
We'll protos at you Nicks.

Speaker 1 (15:04):

Hopefully you're feeling good on this Friday.

Speaker 1 (16:15):
Listen if you're out in anywhere really in California, but
specifically southern California.

Speaker 4 (16:19):
You are roasting right now, rob Gi. It has been
crazy hot.

Speaker 2 (16:21):
It's hot.

Speaker 4 (16:22):
It is absurdly hot.

Speaker 9 (16:24):
Man.

Speaker 1 (16:24):
Oh, out here in southern California, it's anywhere from seven
to eight degrees hotter ten degrees depending where you live,
hotter than it's supposed to be. And you know, usually
like on the West Side, some other areas a little
cooler even there hot.

Speaker 4 (16:37):
It's hot at the beach.

Speaker 1 (16:39):
So yeah, so stay cool if you're out here on
the West coast while we got another week or so
of this temperature, so make sure you do that.

Speaker 4 (16:46):
Keep yourself.

Speaker 1 (16:47):
Got these heat advisories, so stay safe. Don't want anybody
getting hurt out here. All right, and we're excited to
announce we have a brand new YouTube channel for the show.

(17:08):
best videos from the show. So go check out a
brand new channel again, just search Odd Couple FSR on
YouTube and subscribe as well, So make sure you do
that when you get a chance. All right, rob G
kind of sticking with it, we were talking about Commanders
a little bit.

Speaker 4 (17:22):
You're not high on them. I'm still pretty high on them.

Speaker 1 (17:25):
I still think the Eagles would be the team who
beat in that division.

Speaker 4 (17:28):
I think the Lions a lot.

Speaker 1 (17:29):
I think a lot of people are counting the lines
out a little bit too early. I think the Buccaneers
are gonna have something to say as well. But I
do believe the Commanders are right there in that mix
of those top you know, Forest teams, with the Rams
kind of being right there as well. So let's do
a little bit of the NFL version of worst to
first teams that were bad last year that you say, hey,

(17:52):
they maybe rided the shit with free agency, or maybe
they were just injured, or you know, some things didn't
go their way that you expect to make a change
this season. So that started off, who you got, give
me one, I'll go, I'll go, then you go. Then
we'll kind of go back and forth on some teams
that could make a big difference this year around.

Speaker 5 (18:10):
Well, the reason the reason we're talking about this is
because as far fetched as it sounds all right. Since
two thousand and two, twenty five teams have gone worse
to first in a single season, so basically it's happening
every year, which means heading into this upcoming season, you
have eight teams vying for one spot, all right, Tennessee,

(18:30):
the Niners, the Giants, the Saints, the Patriots, the Raiders,
the Browns, and the Bears. And part of the reason
why I'm so down on Washington is because I believe
the team that's going worse to first next year is
in that division.

Speaker 1 (18:47):
Oh snap, kel, tell me why I'm not picking the
New York Giants to go worse to first with mister
unlimited in twenty twenty.

Speaker 4 (18:56):
Five, Hold on my headphones?

Speaker 2 (18:58):
Who who the New New York Football Giants?

Speaker 1 (19:02):
See there you go, you eating dubs over there with
Jamis Winston a eating dubs.

Speaker 4 (19:07):
I don't know if I can eat another man's dub
by the way, that was?

Speaker 2 (19:09):
That was wild.

Speaker 1 (19:10):
There's one thing to eat Pawsworthy. Yeah, but uh, Jackson
dark thought, get your dub, don't do that. Don't do that,
just eat your own up. Yeah exactly.

Speaker 5 (19:20):
But here's the reason why they have I think the
best front four in football point plank period.

Speaker 4 (19:27):
Yo, That defense, that defensive front is is serious business.
You know.

Speaker 5 (19:30):
With Thibodau's already there, they got some good d tackles
and they just added who I believe is the best
player in the draft and Abdue Carter for Penn State.
So I think their front four is gonna get after
in a big way. Russell Wilson is obviously a big
upgrade at quarterback from what they have between Tommy Cutlts
and on Danny Dams and all those guys they had
last year. Jackson Dart, of course, has been a revelation
in this preseason all right, in three games thirty two

(19:53):
of forty seven, sixty eight percent right there, Okay, three
seventy two, three touchdowns, no picks. He's also added basically
like nine yards of carry and another touchdown. So for
all the talk about Shador Sanders dominating the headlines, Cam
wore the number one overall pick. Hey, hey, why we're
not talking about him enough? Jackson Dharr has been head

(20:15):
and shoulders the best rookie signal caller in this preseason
and it's not even close.

Speaker 4 (20:20):
Did you mention Charlie Weis was having a conversation with him.

Speaker 2 (20:23):
I did not, but we could bring that up too.

Speaker 1 (20:25):
Yeah, Charlie Weiss was in love with him and broke
it down, and not just because he played at the school.
His son is the offensive coordinator and the quarterback coach.
But he really was breaking it down and highlighting how
good Jackson Dart is. And he's kind of got the
mental makeup as well. Sure, and so I love that
so continue I didn't want to step in with that's fine.
And then the last reason, and this is one that's
just so deep in the weeds.

Speaker 5 (20:45):
That I got to crawl down and stand up because
I'm weighing it all right, all right. Since two thousand
and nine, all right, seven teams have finished the preseason
with the point differential of plus six or higher.

Speaker 4 (21:00):
All Right.

Speaker 5 (21:02):
The New York Giants just became the eighth of the
previous seven. Six of them made the playoffs the next season,
two of them went on to win the Super Bowl.
The one team that didn't make the playoffs that next
year was last year's Chicago Bears, who, less we forget,

(21:22):
Number one had a dumpster fire at coach and number two,
I think lost three or four games on the final
play of the game. So the difference between them being
five and twelve and being eight or nine wins was
really like four or five plays. All Right, this New
York Giants team, I know they're a laughing stock, and
it's easy to make fun of Big Blue because the

(21:44):
g Men historically have been bad. Russell Wilson and himself
is kind of a punchline at this point. But between
that front four, this preseason performance, and the emergence of
Jackson Dart, I'm telling you right now, the New York
Giants are going to worse the first in the NFC.

Speaker 1 (22:00):
Listen, I want to make fun of you, but a
lot of folks are into the Giants this year. Did
you talk about defensively you got neighbors who was insane.
I mean he catching passes like he's dunking on people.
And again, is it Russell Wilson is a Jackson Dart.

Speaker 4 (22:13):
I'm gonna say this.

Speaker 1 (22:14):
I'm not mad at that, but I'll say I think
how they played the quarterback quarterback position, how they handle
that is gonna be instrumental, meaning, yes, do you do
the well. We'll give Russell Wilson six to eight stars
because he's the ved we don't want to go Dart
out there, and you know we're gonna we didn't bring him.

Speaker 4 (22:30):
In for no reason.

Speaker 1 (22:31):
And you sit up there and do that and you
find yourself two and six and then go to Dart
and waste the season? Or do you go a couple
of games in and even if he's playing solid or okay,
but you're just like it's not dynamic.

Speaker 4 (22:47):
Do you then go to Dart? You get what I mean?

Speaker 1 (22:49):
So, I think depending on how they play that quarterback
position out is gonna be instrumental.

Speaker 4 (22:54):
So but having a great defense is another one.

Speaker 1 (22:58):
Is something I'm absolutely not mad at, Like why you
would choose that team. You know what we're gonna do here,
I'm gonna get you mine, but I'm gonna give it
to you on the other side of the trendy right now.
Tease Manzi Belanos, What is trendy?

Speaker 6 (23:13):
I like the tease? All right, We're gonna talk NFL
preseason action, guys. Patrick Mahomes played all of the first
quarter into the second quarter eight of thirteen, one hundred
and forty three yards a touchdown pass to Rashid Rice.
The Chiefs are on top of the bear seventeen to
three with about four minutes to go in.

Speaker 2 (23:29):
The first half.

Speaker 6 (23:30):
Caleb Williams has been out there for Chicago this game
as well. He is six of nine for forty one
yards so far for Chicago other three games going on.
When it comes to the NFL preseason. At halftime, the
Titans have a fourteen to three lead over the Vikings
with one minute to go in the second quarter, it's
the Cowboys who are on top of the Falcons fourteen
to ten, and halfway through the third, the Eagles are

(23:50):
on top of the Jets thirteen to three. Other NFL News,
Commanders traded running back Brian Robinson to the forty nine
Ers for a six round pick in twenty twenty six.
We'll move on to baseball here, where the Nationals held
on to defeat the Phillies five to four. The Pirates
shut out the Rockies nine zero. The Giants have just
tied the game against the Brewers in Milwaukee. It's two

(24:11):
two bottom of the fifth. Rangers have tied the game
at home against the Guardians. Against the Guardians, it's one
one bottom of the six. Twins and White Sox tied
at four top of the sixth. The race of a
seven to two lead over the Cardinals top of the seventh,
and Juan Soto has homered. The Mets are on top
of the Braves nine to two after seven innings. The
Blue Jays are on top of the Marlins five to two.
Top of the ninth. The Royals and the Tigers were
tied not anymore, Detroit on top seven to three. Bottom

(24:34):
of the seventh inning. The Orioles have cut their deficit
to one against the Astro seven to sixth. Bottom of
the seventh, and the Red Sox are on top of
the Yankees one zero top of the ninth inning. In
the Bronx Back to you guys, all.

Speaker 4 (24:46):
Right, Manzi, hey, you have a great weekend. You too,
happy birthday?

Speaker 1 (24:50):
Ah, thank you for real. I appreciate that much you
thank you. All right, let's get into it. The odd
couple again, kelvin Washington, robb Gie on a funky flashback
Friday and man Achy knee stiff back joints not cooperate
some days. Well, your body is just like this, ain't it, Robgy.
I'm going through it and all those days. Luckily there's
a leave with just one pill. The lead provides up

(25:10):
to twelve hours of paying relief so you can keep moving.
Use as directed and I might need to use in
a lead by the way. Feel it right now, man,
I'm all beat up to our Our four year old
still sleeps with us.

Speaker 4 (25:21):
Sometimes. That's rough, you know how that goes?

Speaker 2 (25:23):
Kick and stuff.

Speaker 1 (25:24):
Hick, You're hanging on the edge of the bed. Even
though you got a big bed. It's like this little
person is running the bed perpendicular.

Speaker 2 (25:30):
They don't sleep straight.

Speaker 1 (25:31):
Got y'all making an h in the bed. Yeah, it's
just all of that, man. And then plus uh, just
you know, just getting old. So I definitely may have
to hit a leave all right. So you said the
Giants again, I get it. I'm actually not mad at
that as well. I want to go to a team
that it was three and fourteen last year, and I
think similar to your giants. I don't think you're saying

(25:51):
they're gonna beat the Eagles, but you're like, hey, man,
I'm expecting big things for them.

Speaker 2 (25:56):
I can win a division at ten and seven, eleven
and six if things.

Speaker 1 (26:00):
Oh, come on, you said, you sound like you're talking
about Cam Newton, because Cam definitely had that happen a
couple of times with that NFC South, Boy, there was
a nice little run where it shoot. If you could
just be back before with seventeen game, you can be
seven and nine five. If you one game under five hundred,
you got a playoff game. So you're telling me we

(26:20):
got a shot, all right? Mind believe it or not,
I'm going to the AFC South and I'm talking about
the Tennessee Titans.

Speaker 2 (26:25):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (26:27):
A couple of reasons why number one?

Speaker 1 (26:29):
To start with the obvious cam Ward by all accounts,
you know what's funny, Rob g. Sometimes when they ain't
talking about you, it's a good thing.

Speaker 4 (26:39):
Cause you're kind of just doing what we expected.

Speaker 1 (26:42):
Sometimes we're seeing in your praises because we wow, whoa,
I didn't see this coming. And sometimes we're talking about
you because it ain't going good.

Speaker 4 (26:48):
Right all we expect the big things, it ain't going good.

Speaker 1 (26:51):
And camp Ward just between the draft, remember all the
conversations where should do or or wield? There be another
quarterback that pops up or a carter because cam Ward
was just a given he's gonna be number one. Plays
a little bit in the preseason, all the training cap things.
We're mostly just good and it's no big deal. So

(27:11):
Cam Ward I expect to.

Speaker 4 (27:12):
Be good now. Is he a rookie, Yes.

Speaker 1 (27:14):
Are there gonna be some you know, some times where
he does rookie things here or there, Yes, But I
tell you what, will Levis was still a high pick.
And for will Levis to literally be gone in a
sense that nobody talks about him in after a year,
that's how bad that went for him last year. I
don't expect that to be nearly the case for cam Ward. Also,
the defense, if they had anything that was pretty solid

(27:35):
last year, that was good. That was the defense last
season for them. They were actually a pretty good group,
especially against the pass rush with the pass rushers and
getting after it against opposing teams. Now they got Brian Callahan,
a more offensive minded coach and bringing some disciplined obviously
some more accountability in preparation.

Speaker 4 (27:54):
And not that Vrabel was bad. I think overall Vrabel many.

Speaker 1 (27:57):
People including myself, considered him to be a good coach,
But I think a more offensive approach now, especially since
you have cam Ward and some of the young talent
that this roster has.

Speaker 4 (28:06):
They've got a really good draft class coming in.

Speaker 1 (28:09):
And also I expect that division, as you just were
talking about, it's not that great when you look at it.
We don't know what the Colts are right now, and
you've got quarterback. You got Daniel Jones as your quarterback.
That ain't good. The Jags were barely better at four
and thirteen, and we have been disappointed in Trevor Lawrence

(28:31):
in that team for quite some time now.

Speaker 4 (28:32):
They expect to be better.

Speaker 1 (28:33):
Obviously got Travis Hunter, They've got some receivers as well,
and you hope Trump, if you're Trevor Lawrence, you're saying
this should be a bounce back.

Speaker 4 (28:39):
But again it's just the Jags. And then the Texans.

Speaker 1 (28:42):
We're ten and seven and they were able to, because
of their schedule, win some games that maybe they shouldn't have.
And again we saw a little bit of the regression
with CJ. Stroud. So I look at the Texans as
I don't expect them to be bad, but similar to
what you just mentioned, maybe they go nine and eight,
maybe they stay ten and seven, and maybe the Titans
go to and seven, but they have the advantage right

(29:02):
and that tiebreaker and they win that division. So I'm
looking at the Titans, and the last point I'll make
one of the Titans if I didn't mention it as well.

Speaker 4 (29:10):
I don't know if I did.

Speaker 1 (29:11):
If I did, forgive me, but they have a much
much one of the easier schedules this upcoming season as well.
Their schedule is one of the more favorable ones in
the entire NFL. They're at one hundred and twenty nine.
They're the teams that they play only one hundred and
twenty nine games, which is not great at all last season.

(29:32):
So they have a much more favorable schedule, and I
expect them to take advantage of that with a better offense,
way better quarterback play, and some nice offensive pickups as well.
So I'm looking at the Titans as a team that
could make a big turn around. Not get maybe they
end up not winning the division, but I think they're
one of those teams that we could look up. Instead
of winning only three games, they win nine.

Speaker 2 (29:54):
Yeah, where you're like taking the over on the win total, Oh.

Speaker 4 (29:57):
Yeah, they win nine, they win ten. So that's what
I'm lo with the type.

Speaker 5 (30:00):
And that's one of these things when we're talking about
worse the first because this is obviously it's so hard
to predict because these teams were bad for a reason,
right for a number, whether it was they were young,
whether it was because they had bad coaching. Usually it's
because you have a bad quarterback. You know, the Niners,
they had the injury bug hit him so hard, like
this kind of stuff. And the one thing I always
come back to when you're doing this thought exercise is
it's usually less about the team that we're picking and

(30:24):
more about the situation around them.

Speaker 2 (30:26):
Right.

Speaker 5 (30:27):
So I think most people, if they were, you know,
really trying to handicap this thing, you would say the
most likely team to go worse the first is probably
the Niners, just because you say historically they're a good team.
You know, they're they're not going to be as hard
as they were, you know. And and we trust Kyle Shanahan,
We think brock Berty's good, Christan mccaffreys back YadA, yah, YadA.
What you have to factor in though, when you're making

(30:48):
that kind of pick is well, did the Rams get
worse like or did they take a step back? Or
you know, say what you want about Sam Darnold, but
is he that much of a step down from Gino Smith?

Speaker 1 (30:59):
Right?

Speaker 5 (30:59):
And they want ten games? And so you look at
the division and you're like, well there's already two double
digit win teams there, so we got a leap frog
both of them. And we need to make sure that
the Arizona Cardinals are not going to continue their upper trajectory.
We need them to slide back right. And so what
the Giants for me and what the Titans for you
have going for them is starting off with the Titans.

(31:23):
You know, the Indianapolis Colts, their quarterback situation is a mess.
It doesn't seem like the GM and the head coach
are on the same page. Otherwise, Nasty Richardson will be
the quarterback right Jacksonville, they have a new head coach,
Trevor Lawrence has never really shown anything, you know, since
he's been the quarterback. They have a bottom five offense
account right exactly, They had a bottom five offensive line,
and they just traded a king's ransom for a two

(31:46):
way player who has not really shown, at least in
my opinion, to be a refined wide receiver or refined
defensive back. So there's gonna be some learning curve there
with him. And as far as the Houston Texans, we
all like CJ.

Speaker 2 (32:00):
Stroud.

Speaker 5 (32:01):
We think Negle Collins is one of the top flight
wide receivers on all the football. Joe Mixon is still hurt,
their offensive line got reshuffled, and Tank Dallas out for
the season. So it's Stroud Collins and you're hoping the
defense and carry you like that. So there is a
scenario where the Titans can creep up on you win
nine ten games and suddenly they go worse the first.
Same thing with the Giants. I'm projecting that Jaden Daniels,

(32:24):
even though he's great, you know, there was a lot
of smoking merrors last season that laid out earlier, right,
so that could lie back. We've been talking all week
about the Dallas Cowboys. Michael Parsis still ain't there. Brian Schottheimer,
I don't think he's going to be a good coach
at all. And this whole circus surrounding them lends itself
to distractions. It lends himself to a kind of backslide.

(32:45):
And last but not least, I know that it's not
a popular thing to go against the Eagles. In fact,
I'm picking the Eagles to get back to the super Bowl.
But the Super Bowl hangover is real. Save for the
Kansas City Chiefs, I would not be shocked if the
Philadelphia Eagles go from what it was thirteen games fourteens
last year, maybe they slide back to ten or eleven. Like,

(33:06):
that's not unheard of. It's not uncommon to see a
team that went deep into the postseason either get off
to a slow start or get off to a really
hot start, and they hit a mid season low because
you're kind of tired, because you're you're like, hey, we'll
just turn it on come postseason, don't worry about it.

Speaker 2 (33:20):
Everything's fine.

Speaker 5 (33:22):
And next thing you know, a team like these plucky
New York Giants find a way to finish the season
ten and seven, eleven and six, where to your point,
they get a tie breaker in the season, and next
thing you know, they're hosting a playoff game.

Speaker 1 (33:34):
And that's why, real quick before we break here, I
look at the Bears. A lot of people are high
on the Bears, and I don't expect them to be
as bad five and twelve. But as you were discussing
there everybody, a lot of people are on all the
Lions and maybe, okay, maybe they don't go fifteen and two. Well,
I don't expect them to take a major step back.
The Vikings. I don't expect them to be fourteen and three.
I'm not high on as high on JJ McCarthy as

(33:56):
a lot of other people are. However, they should with
that defense, sip. Leave that defense alone. The offensive weapons
that they have between the tight end. They got Jefferson,
they got a back as well. JJ doesn't have to
be Joe Montana, right, just be a really good matter
of fact, just be Kirk Cousins when he was here,
you know what I mean.

Speaker 4 (34:14):
And so I look at the Vikings as still being
very competitive.

Speaker 1 (34:17):
In the Packers. They were eleven and six. They might
actually go up a game or two. So to me, everybody,
just all the Bears. You know, the Bears should be
really good. Watch out, don't sleep on the Bears. For me,
that division they're gonna have to leap frog three really
good teams.

Speaker 4 (34:31):
I mean, look at it.

Speaker 1 (34:33):
The Packers win eleven and six, fourteen and three for
the Vikings and fifteen and two for the line.

Speaker 2 (34:38):
Yeah, you have a lot of backlighting for the.

Speaker 1 (34:40):
You need a lot of bat You need a heathen
in church backslide for this to actually happen. And so
that's why we'll get what we're talking about. It in
the Saints.

Speaker 4 (34:48):
The Aints. I don't.

Speaker 1 (34:49):
I think the Buccaneers actually might even improve when they're
ten and seven.

Speaker 2 (34:52):
I think Saint's just the worst team in football point
play period.

Speaker 4 (34:54):
Yeah, well just took me.

Speaker 1 (34:55):
They got to go back to the old seventies and
the the Aints the Aks right now. So that's why
for me, when I look at the forty nine ers,
absolutely in this conversation, they absolutely have something to say,
just for the sense that their's stability within the organization,
their stability from the head coach, the general manager, and
their stability with the quarterback, and that is a real thing.

Speaker 4 (35:15):
And he still has part star players.

Speaker 1 (35:16):
They just picked up a more bruising back that they
just got from the Commanders. Commanders and Robinson Junior, and
so now they have a one two punch with Christian McCaffrey,
who buy all accounts, has looked good and healthy this offseason,
and so the forty nine ers absolutely could be sitting
here looking at rob G and Calvin say hey, don't
sleep on us, and I can understand that.

Speaker 5 (35:35):
You know, if they the last time they were healthy,
they made the Super Bowl. The problem is they are
never healthy.

Speaker 4 (35:39):
They're never healthy.

Speaker 1 (35:40):
But again, they've got enough pieces still that they can
be a difficult and to beat. And again, there's just
something to say about having stability, like we know who
we have the course still there, McCaffrey, Kettle and Purdy,
and Ayuka is even still there. I know he's not
gonna play for a while, but he's at least there,
you know what I mean? You just have this these guys,

(36:01):
and they shirt up the offensive line some as well.
So the forty nine ers. We could be sitting here
in fifteen sixteen, seventeen weeks and saying, dang it, robb G,
why don't we just go with the forty nine ers?
But I do like, I do understand what you're saying
with the Giants, and I do like what the Tennessee
Titans present as an and as a possible team to go.

Speaker 4 (36:18):
Oh, I didn't see that coming.

Speaker 1 (36:19):
All right, Last call, well maybe first call eight seven

you are the last call here on the odd couple.
What you got man.

Speaker 4 (37:50):
All the time?

Speaker 9 (37:51):
Happy birthday Kirthday, Rob g Man. Appreciate you y'all do
me a favor when you hit it. Check out this
incident that happened at the rufous Is so constant. You
guys could talk about it, you know, next show in
the shop talk or something. But you got it. You
got to send your wife for your fiance.

Speaker 1 (38:09):
So I'm gonna say say that again where where I
didn't hear? You can't say that again?

Speaker 9 (38:13):
Yeah? Yeah, rufus Is still had a concert of the
Rose Bowl. There was an incident, and it's a topic
that you all need to have about defending your fiance,
your significant out of it.

Speaker 4 (38:22):
Something happened, was this the one to fight? A dude
was hitting a woman?

Speaker 9 (38:26):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (38:28):
Oh I saw this. Yeah, man, it didn't look good.
I didn't get the context, but you know, when stuff
goes viral.

Speaker 4 (38:33):
I did see that. But all right, go ahead, I'm here.

Speaker 9 (38:34):
Yeah, to continue the topic about worse the first, I'm
going with the forty nine ers because of the straight
the schedule, and it's not just the schedule, but they
became more explosive when they got rid of Deebo. I've
been the biggest Deebo Samuel guy. But Ricky first saw
he's been tearing up camp in preseason. He's gotta be
going in those DEEPO sets. And they made that trade,
that low key trade for skytra Moore, that Loki trade.

(38:55):
That's for those DEEPO sets, those running plays. That's why
Scott Scott Moore's coming there. And then you get Robertson
at Key McCaffrey fresh, You still got pretty, you still
got kiddled. And they added that defensive line with Mikyle
Johnson on the other side of Nick Posa, and they
got some more youth in the back end. He still
got Lenore. So I'm looking at the forty nine ers
saying this team can absolutely be in play for a

(39:17):
Super Bowl run with the personnel they still haven't played in.
The players, especially Keeff.

Speaker 4 (39:21):
You know, I like Kevin. You know, I like when
Kevin calls.

Speaker 1 (39:24):
I love when Kevin calls ROGERI because all I'm with him,
like right there, But keV always slides something in at
the end. You're like, hold up like I was with him.
Yeah me and you have Rob Gi admitted like you know,
all right, they could make it. You never know, man,
forty Niners could be that team. Then he slid it
in and make a playoff Super Bowl run. Now, I
see you took it too far. See he buried the league.

Speaker 5 (39:43):
Because if the Niners are going to make a Super
Bowl run, it's going to because they are the most
physically tough team in football. You know, they now employ
two different players who have been shot and lived to
tell the tail.

Speaker 1 (39:55):
You ain't lying about that they built different. They are
built different, which I don't advise.

Speaker 4 (40:00):
People to try that.

Speaker 2 (40:00):
I don't neither knows.

Speaker 5 (40:03):
But you ain't lying that they are not going to
get bullied on the football field, tell you that much.

Speaker 1 (40:08):
I haven't really had this conversation with you about the Lions.
I know where Robert is Parker, but what about you.

Speaker 2 (40:16):
I think they're gonna take a step back.

Speaker 4 (40:17):
Now.

Speaker 2 (40:17):
How big of a step back is to be seen.

Speaker 5 (40:19):
But I don't think you can lose both coordinators and
your interior offensive line and just think you're gonna run
it back the way you work.

Speaker 4 (40:25):
But what's the step I mean fifteen? Yeah, so I
mean step back could be thirteen, It.

Speaker 5 (40:28):
Could be eleven or twelve wins, which is still the
playoff team, but it's not, you know, top of the
NFC anymore.

Speaker 1 (40:34):
All right, Well, enjoying the weekend, you too. Bro Harmon
