Today?
Speaker 1 (00:55):
Rob G said, Man, I really like yesterday shaw. I'm
glad Rob's back. Didn't I say that?

He did say that?
Speaker 2 (01:01):
All right?
Speaker 1 (01:01):
We didn't even know we need to hurry up and
break your fast, so we can go ahead the cheesecake
and catch up.
Speaker 2 (01:05):
That's coming up in about a month, So we're gonna

Speaker 4 (01:07):

Speaker 2 (01:44):

Speaker 4 (01:47):
It tire rack dot com the way tire buying should be,
don't forget. Coming up in about twenty seven minutes, foul
Affair with JR. Gamble of course as the managing editor
from the from mlbbro dot com. And also we have
a last call that's coming up. Well, that's right, but.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
I guess LEO want to be the last call too. Yes,
that was interesting. Do you think people are listening. They listening.
They're trying to get in, no doubt about it.
Speaker 4 (02:17):
But Rob G, the goat of the NFL quarterbacks, had
some interesting stuff to say. Tom Brady talked, No, the
real goat was talking four and zero in Super Bowls,
eleven touchdowns, no picks, three MVPs in the Super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (02:36):
And guess what.
Speaker 4 (02:37):
He won two Super Bowls with Jerry Rice, he won
two without Jerry Rice. And in two of the four
Super Bowls, Rob G, he needed a touchdown to win
the game, not a fifty eight yard field goal or something.
He needed a touchdown to win and won two Super Bowls.
Speaker 5 (02:55):
It sounds like you like him almost as much you
like Eli Manning. I mean, you know, you know they
called Joe Monte to Eli the eighties. That's what they
call him on the street. I'm just playing, we love
Joe Montanna front of the show. Joe Montanna gave us
a viral moment on the Eye Couple. He sure did
shout out to Joe Montana. No, Joe, you know my
theory When I.
Speaker 4 (03:11):
Called it Tom Brady to Lot and I said it
to Joe Montana.
Speaker 2 (03:14):
I've seen that, all right.
Speaker 1 (03:15):
That's a classic Joe Montana is there's there's three guys
that if you say are the goat, I'm not like,
I'm never gonna be mad at Joe Montana, never gonna
be mad at Tom Brady. And I think Joe John
Elway if you put him in the go Now, just.
Speaker 5 (03:30):
Hold that thought because you might be mad at Joe
Montana today. Hold on Joe about to get this smoke,
because Joe Montana was on the Pat McAfee show Bruce
arians feeling he's gonna have a regular spot apparently with them.
Speaker 4 (03:39):
And here's the exchange. They asked Joe Montana.
Speaker 5 (03:42):
Hey, Joe, if you're building a NFL franchise, got to
pick your quarterback. And you can't pick Brock Perdy because
you know he's a Niner through and through. So you
win Brock party.
Speaker 3 (03:52):
First.
Speaker 4 (03:53):
You got three quarterback choices, give us your top three.
Here's the exchange.
Speaker 5 (03:58):
If you were a general manager head coach that pick
the top three quarterbacks you want to start your franchise with,
and why like and not Rock Berdy?
Speaker 4 (04:07):
You can't take Brock Boom.
Speaker 3 (04:08):
Okay, Brock is your number one pick.
Speaker 4 (04:10):
We know that, yep. So you love Rock Berdy. You
love brock Perty.
Speaker 7 (04:14):
I'm taking I'm taking the guy in Buffalo, okay, Josh Allen, Josh,
and the guy that surprised me that I thought would
obviously Joe Burrows, another guy I like a lot, and
and believe it or not, I like the guy in
with the Chargers just uh yeah, I think they just
(04:38):
kind of they've kind of kind of gone by the
wayside there, but uh, you know, I just I just
like the way they all those three guys.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
Are, uh you are right over there, could you No?
Speaker 4 (04:51):
No, you smoke it over there. And let me tell
you this, I think Joe Montana to good. I've always
said that, and I'm mad with respect for him. And
when he played and you know how the game was,
how how many time he got beat up against the
Giants defense like it was a different game, and he
was incredible, he really was. Eleven touchdowns, no picks, and
(05:12):
four super Bowls.
Speaker 2 (05:13):
He was a standard.
Speaker 4 (05:14):
Okay, But this list and his list to me, once
you put Justin Herbert on there, I can't listen to it.
I really got it. I got an issue, and I
get it. He checks all the boxes. He's six foot
three or four, he's got a right six five, got
got a big arm.
Speaker 2 (05:34):
All that looks like a quarterback?
Speaker 4 (05:35):
Is Bill?
Speaker 2 (05:36):
I get all that.
Speaker 4 (05:37):
He just hadn't done anything. I'm sorry to warrant being
on that list. I just cannot Lamar won a couple
of MVPs. Wow, shocking. Okay, you want to say that
from the traditional But your issue, and I want you
to go first, is I do know, yo, No, my issue,
but you have an issue with cool Joe, don't.
Speaker 1 (06:00):
I do have a super cool joint. He cannot be
any cooler. And I've been around him, you know, just
covering super Bowls. Great dude, for sure, and arguably the
go I'm not mad at that, absolutely not. However, this
ain't the goat. Let's go now. Rob g Is stopped
short of saying a few things. He went on to say,
they go, who ho ho? Ain't somebody missing? Talking about
(06:21):
Patrick Mahons, and he said, I think I would have
had him if he was much, if he was younger,
although they're not getting hit as much today, so he
probably played forever. So yeah, I guess maybe I should
have had it patting there, but he was cushing in
his age because he's Patrick Mahomes and the difference it
will turn thirty this month, Okay, but the difference in
age is Rob g right a, yeah, he's a years
(06:41):
older than Josh all year, not even a full year.
Justin Herbert is twenty seven and Joe Burrow will be
twenty nine December, so he's a year older.
Speaker 2 (06:49):
That's what I'm saying. I'm not dune cooking Joe.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
We got Joe on the plate, forgot Joe on the menu? Forday,
let me saw t Joe real quick. Now I got
a list for you, my friend Rob Parker, Rob g
who I'm beef with right now? I'm trash talking Tuesday
at the end of the show. You know how many
guys won Super Bowls after age of thirty?
Speaker 2 (07:15):
Clock this.
Speaker 1 (07:17):
Tom Brady won six Super Bowls after the age of
thirty six, Peyton Manny won one, Aaron Rodgers one one
at thirty one, Russell Wilson was thirty, Joe Montana one
two after thirty did he forget? John l Way won
(07:39):
two at thirty seven and thirty eight. I mean the
list goes on Drew Brees thirty one. So my point
is you absolutely and your favorite Eli Manning got one
at thirty one. So what does he mean, he's little ols.
I ain't rolling Patrick Mahomes. The other guys on the
list haven't done anything. Josh Allen, who is immensely talented,
(08:05):
but he hadn't done anything. Justin Herbert, we don't get
me started. That's the guy who has not really done anything.
I just can't get over. Like he makes everybody's list.
And then to leave Lamar off for Justin Herbert. I
understand Joe Burrow and Justin Herbert kind of fit the
traditional nineteen eighties quarterback that he's looking for that plays
(08:26):
in a you know, a straight out of Central Casting.
Speaker 2 (08:28):
I'm putting the quarterback in the movie.
Speaker 1 (08:30):
You'd put Joe Burrow or you would put Justin but
Lamar and Patrick.
Speaker 2 (08:36):
He watched Lamar last year.
Speaker 1 (08:37):
It's insane what Lamar has done for the last three
four years. What do you have forty one touchdowns in
before me started? Man, Yes, absolutely ridiculous. Those two should
have been on the list now at last point, drop.
I know there's kind of the four. The big four,
right is Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson, Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen.
So somebody was gonna get left off when you ask
him three. But to me leaving off Patrick and Lamar
(08:59):
was Joe respectfully Joe.
Speaker 4 (09:01):
Now, Joe, I'm gonna agree with Joe on one thing.
I can see why he left off Patrick Mahomes. And
it has nothing to do with age. If you just
want to be honest and where these quarterbacks are going,
the other guys are ascending and Patrick Mahomes is descending. Okay,
(09:24):
I'm gonna let you go. I'm just saying, be honest.
With the stats and the numbers, it's a it's not
a career Lifetime Achievement award he's talking about right now,
if you're looking at it. And my argument all the
time is that most people aren't honest enough to tell
(09:44):
you that Patrick Mahomes is not the same quarterback. The
numbers beared out the idea last year that in games
that he played last year, the Chiefs were fifteen and
one team and one.
Speaker 2 (10:03):
In a quarterback league.
Speaker 4 (10:06):
And a guy who people are always saying when they
do the polls, he's the number one quarterback they and
yet he didn't get one MVP vote first place vote
last year, not one that speaks volumes in a quarterback
league and against Patrick Mahomes.
Speaker 2 (10:23):
And if you look, just an honest look. I'm not
talking about his career.
Speaker 4 (10:27):
He's in a Hall of Famer already, so I'm not
one of these guys I'm trying to pooh poo it
and discount his start to his career. But the last
two years, this is not the Patrick Mahomes that started
the league. You know that when he started the league
that electrified and people looked at it. This is a
dink dunk, non descript five yards of pass like it's
(10:51):
somebody we don't even recognize. And yes, they keep winning
and they've gotten the Super Bowls and I get all that,
but it ain't on the backs of Patrick Mahomes as
it used to be.
Speaker 2 (11:03):
He was must see TV.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
That team was incredible. Here's what I don't agree with
you at. What I don't agree is it's the same thing.
Why to me, when we talk a lot of times
you're talking basketball. One of the things I liked about,
you know, like Luca with the Mavericks for those you know,
a handful of years.
Speaker 2 (11:18):
What I liked about Lebron.
Speaker 1 (11:20):
I like guys that when the team is great, cool,
we got a great chance to do some great things.
When the team ain't that great, we still got a
chance to do some great things. And to me, that's
what I like about Patrick Mahomes. When the team is great,
were putting up thirty forty a game, great when the
team was barely scoring you know, twenty dagget, we're gonna
go fifteen to two and fifteen and one. It might've
(11:40):
been sixteen and one if he played that last game.
How to me, I can't knock you for that. I
give you more credit. When you got guys coming in
and out, you got a bunch of injuries. You know
you've got a good defense, so you know how to
lean on them. You're not force it up. To me,
that's more of a compliment that I can play in
multiple ways, because we've seen where guys can only play
one way, and if you can stop that one way,
(12:02):
they're hurt. And to me, I like to see that
Patrick Mahomes guys in and out. I'm not gonna be
able to make all the plays, but damn when I
need to make a play, rob g One of my
favorite stats last year was what it was third down
conversion for first downs. You know who was number one,
Patrick Mahons at fifty three percent.
Speaker 4 (12:18):
Okay, but if you see that stating people who vote
for the halt for the MVP because he.
Speaker 1 (12:22):
Wasn't an MVP caliber player at all. Lamar Jackson should
have been MVP. We both agreed, but I told you
Joshallow was gonna win it because of fatigue.
Speaker 2 (12:30):
You don't want to hear me. Josh Allen won because
of fatigue? Rob Parker, what else is it?
Speaker 4 (12:35):
Because it's because they're friendly to get the players who
were friendly with Joe Burrow, Dan Orlowski?
Speaker 2 (12:40):
What like?
Speaker 4 (12:41):
This was his mission? I'm dead serious. It was about
friendship and being buddies. How did you change your vote?
He should have been first Team All Pro.
Speaker 1 (12:48):
Two because people, well people are tired of them, but
doesn't matter. Those two had MVP and even Joe Burrow
had an MVP candidate season. So my point is he
doesn't have to be MVP to still be the best.
Tom Brady has what two MVPs? I believe in his
career if I'm not or two off pros? I think
it is and something like that, something where you would
think he'd have more considering how great he is, but
(13:09):
he doesn't, but yet he's still the goat. Joe Montana
can argument say he's a god. I'm not mad at
that at all. So Patrick Mahomes didn't have to beat
the MVP to still be the best.
Speaker 4 (13:17):
All right?
Speaker 2 (13:18):
Eight seven seven ninety nine? Off far make the need
to make Joe Montana's list for sure? Come on, Joe.
Was Joe wrong in leaving Patrick Mahomes off his list? Yes?
Or was he right?
Speaker 4 (13:31):
And I say right, I would put Lamar should have
been on the list rather than Justin Herbert and not
Patrick Mahomes. He has had two back to back down
years and I'm just talking about listen numbers, like, look
at the numbers. I'm not hating on him or trying
to discredit his career. Just be honest and fair and
(13:51):
look at the numbers. Was Joe Montana wrong leaving Patrick
Mahomes off the list or was he right?
Speaker 2 (13:58):
One game? To save your life?
Speaker 1 (13:59):
Rome you taking Josh Allen, Lamar Jacks or Joe Burrainy
over him?
Speaker 4 (14:04):
That's not what it commas is yes or no? I'm
taking yes and no taking Lamar. That's a black quarterback,
Rob You know what I said?
Speaker 2 (14:13):
That's your one? Okay, that's your one? Is that a
token Lamar?
Speaker 4 (14:18):
Okay? All right? Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox
eight seven, seven, nine, nine, six, sixty three sixty nine.
It will be interesting to see do you guys agree
or disagree with Joe Montana on Patrick Mahomes not being
a top three quarterback.
Speaker 2 (14:32):
If you were.

Be looking forward to that here coming up in about
four or five minutes or so, as well as in
last call towards the end of the show.
Speaker 4 (16:17):
That's right eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox. If
you want to jump in, Bob G, jump in here now.
I got a question for you guys with his Joe
Montana list.
Speaker 2 (16:26):
Tony mont Tony what Sorry?
Speaker 5 (16:30):
The three guys he picked, two of them play like
the classic quarterback position, the way that you know you
grew up saying, hey, he's a big, strong pocket quarterback.
He's making his reads, he's accurate. Yeah, yeah, that would
be Joe Burrow, which is the ebitimy of that, and
justin Herbert Josh Allen is like the freak show kind
(16:52):
of a thing because he's there's only so many guys
in the NFL historically with his size and arm strength.
So I guess you understan and why he'd be like, oh,
he was grown in a lab. I would love to
mold this guy. Do you think it comes down to
personal preference with Joe Montana or can you really see? No,
these are definitely guys I would build a franchise a record.
Speaker 4 (17:12):
I think you would think it'd be Lamar Jackson.
Speaker 1 (17:14):
No, I think it's personal because you're talking about one
of the more precise, high percentage Joe Montana ain't running
you know, he ain't running from nothing quarterback, And I
think it comes down to what you like. It reminds
me of Chris Paul. If you talk to a lot
of point guards or historic point guards, they liked him. Man,
he's a laser point guard. He's the last true point
(17:35):
guard in the NBA. You know, they look at him
more favorably because they look at it as the truest
point guard left and obviously somebody's last year blah blah blah,
but they look at him that way.
Speaker 2 (17:45):
So I think part of Joe Montana.
Speaker 1 (17:46):
Yeah, he looks at like when I close my eyes
in my sixty some odd years of life, I think
of a quarterback. That's what it looks like. And so
I just think Lamar is so unique. Lamar is so
different that he might not be because if you look
at what Lamar winning percentage touchdown in interception ratio, it's
all it's all insane. What seventy percent of that's correc you, Robi, Let.
Speaker 2 (18:09):
Me get things because let me get the updated number.
Speaker 1 (18:11):
Because last season, remember I kept hitting you one of
my favorite stats of all time, rob what I used
to hit you with it two at the time. I
have to look it up now what it is because
after the last season he Lamar is like forty two
and one against the NFC.
Speaker 2 (18:24):
Yeah, did you hear it out? Just on that's a
crazy number.
Speaker 1 (18:27):
I gotta look up the latest that is the crew
that is absurd. I need to be in the Smithsonian
and the NFL entire conference.
Speaker 2 (18:35):
That makes no sense eight seven, seven ninety nine on five. Well,
people I.
Speaker 5 (18:39):
Don't think realize about Lamar Jackson. We're still a ways
away from it. But because he's in the middle of
his prime, if and when he wins his first Super Bowl,
there's gonna be some really uncomfortable conversations because his resume
point blank period. Obviously, Tom Brady's unique because hes got
what seven you can argue that he's the best quarter
(19:01):
or the greatest quarterback whoever lives.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
Most decorated. Yeah, I mean like you're gonna say, oh,
he's a.
Speaker 5 (19:05):
Three time All Pro, two time MVP at MINIMUMCHEE three
four being unanimous by one vote, the highest passer rating
in any game, Like you're gonna be looking. You're like, gosh,
and he's got a Super Bowl and it's like, well, yeah,
he was better than Aaron Rodgers. He was better than
Dan Like even if you think that, to me, Aaron
Rodgers the best quarterback I've ever seen. People like Payton
(19:27):
Mann and the best.
Speaker 1 (19:27):
Like you see what Tom Brady said, Yeah, he picked
Aaron rob Just like if you just look at a
peer quarterback Rogers peek, Aaron Rodgers could rune the.
Speaker 5 (19:40):
Narrative around Lamar Jackson's always been Yeah, he's a great runner,
but he's not a great quarterback. But if he wins
a Super Bowl, whenever he gets that one, he's gonna
make a lot of people very uncomfortable with the way
that he's discussed all time.
Speaker 2 (19:53):
Can I tell you something, Robs for him to not
be a passer.
Speaker 1 (20:00):
Man, forty one passing touchdowns, that's not even including his
rushing four forty one and gee, if you were a passer,
I think you turn the ball over a lot interception wise.
Speaker 2 (20:11):
Four and half of him wasn't even his fault.
Speaker 4 (20:14):
Three three hit receivers, three hit receivers first, Rob g
think about that.
Speaker 1 (20:19):
That's ridiculous and he just gotten Yeah, I just listen, man,
he's the best player in the NFL. To me, I've
said it. You've heard me say the million times on
the Rob feels the same way. You know, I believe
Patrick Mahomes plays a position better. If I needed a
game like tonight, who's gonna win? Give me Patrickman. But
if you're talking about throughout the season, who's the best player,
(20:40):
it's Patrick Mahomes.
Speaker 2 (20:41):
And the idea that he's not a good passer.
Speaker 1 (20:43):
His quarterback rating was one nineteen, basically one twenty was
one nineteen.
Speaker 4 (20:47):
And what is it?
Speaker 2 (20:48):
Isn't it one of the top four? Yes?
Speaker 5 (20:51):
He was.
Speaker 2 (20:51):
Wasn't it like Aaron Rodgers has two of them?
Speaker 6 (20:55):
Right?
Speaker 3 (20:55):
What was?
Speaker 2 (20:55):
What is it? Rob g and two?
Speaker 4 (20:59):
One one alright? And Lamar has the other one that
those are the top four quarterback waitings in the history
of the NFL.
Speaker 5 (21:06):
Rapid fire. If Lamar wins the Super Bowl this season,
Lamar Drew Brees Lamar or John Alway?
Speaker 4 (21:14):
Hold up, hold on, hold up, Lamar, you gotta give me.
Speaker 5 (21:22):
John Lamar, Dan Marino, Lamar, Lamar, Aaron Rodgers. They're resumes.
It would be like right there with each other.
Speaker 4 (21:35):
Aaron, I do believe still has the highest quarterback waiting
and right now he has four m vps.
Speaker 8 (21:42):
And he has four m vps. Yeah, I would give
Aaron Lamar, Payton Manning Peyon Man's got five. Payton got five, right, yes, Lamar,
Joe Montana four and oh, eleven touchdowns, no pick so quickly.
If he wins one, he's automatically in the top five.
Speaker 9 (22:00):
Yeah, he would move because of the MVPs, because of enough,
because I know I'm getting twelve wins, you know what
I mean, Like I'm getting eleven wins, twelve wins, crazy
amount of rushing yards.
Speaker 2 (22:11):
But like to be able to I'm big on what
can I pencil in? What can I just right here? Boom?
Speaker 1 (22:17):
I know this is happening, and that's what he's created
throughout his career. Rob Gie, that just pencil this in. Now,
I needed to start penciling some playoff wins.
Speaker 2 (22:25):
He has to more. Can't be well, you got to
have a run that let me put it that way.
Speaker 1 (22:30):
He's got to have a run because if he just
sneaks in one and goes back to what he is,
there's not gonna be enough.
Speaker 2 (22:34):
All right. We got file affair with j R.

Speaker 2 (22:53):
That's try.
Speaker 4 (22:53):
It is foul a fair.
Speaker 5 (22:54):
Here on the arch couple of Fox Sports Radio Secment,
we go around the diamond discuss all the biggest headlines
in Major League Baseball. Nerd do so properly, we had
to bring in a guy who's so well renowned in
the baseball circles. He's the original big dumper. None other bro,
his dumping might not be home. Yeah, but what's up Jr?
Speaker 10 (23:13):
Yeah that's right. I'm feeling good, almost as good as
George Springer.
Speaker 4 (23:19):
All right, Yeah, he's ripping. George's had a great year.
Speaker 10 (23:23):
Hold on, hold on fellas one one second. How you doing, Rob?
How you doing? Kelvin? Kelvin? What what's the deal my man?
Because I listened to you on the radio every day. Yeah,
and he seems like you know baseball pretty well to me.
You know you're well rounded. You want the leading young
voices in this game.
Speaker 2 (23:41):
You want to know about the Tigers?
Speaker 10 (23:43):
How could my can't get on until baseball? Let's Rob's on.
Speaker 2 (23:47):
See they're smoking you, Rob, g right now, everybody coming.
Speaker 5 (23:50):
From me when I ain't got none to do with Kelvin,
gotta do with the people who sit in next to
Calvin any day, like they don't know what the left
field is from the catcher's play.
Speaker 1 (23:58):
Yeah, actually, JR. That's too JR. Sometimes it would be
it would just today changing the showing on that. Yeah,
you'll be putting them, be putting them in.
Speaker 4 (24:06):
I don't know what's going on. I don't know what's
going Yeah.
Speaker 5 (24:08):
Yeah, that's a good point. Maybe we'll put them on
a little back baseball. Maybe I have to write the
questions and the answer for those guys. Jeez, all right,
so we got three baseball related questions.
Speaker 10 (24:21):
Jr.
Speaker 5 (24:22):
Started the segment. He gets the first crack at every
single one. So let's get to it, j R. Padres
all Star reliever Jason Adams ruptured his quad earlier this week.
Speaker 2 (24:29):
That's tough.
Speaker 4 (24:30):
He's out for the season basically now.
Speaker 5 (24:32):
Granted, San Diego still has two other all star relievers
on their roster, But is if faul Or fair to
say that this Adam injury will prevent the Padres from
getting to the NLCS?
Speaker 10 (24:44):
Foul?
Speaker 3 (24:45):
That is a foul ball.
Speaker 10 (24:48):
I mean the Prodres pitching as a whole. It's still
somewhat for you know, formidable losing Adams. He has eight
wins and sub two e l RA, you know, in
the sixty five and then that's a major. Oh, but
they have you know, K Matt Sue closes, Mason Miller, Robins,
Swarz of the arms. It's really next man up at
this point. As a team, they had the second lowest
(25:10):
ERA in baseball and the and the lowest bullpen e RA.
So they're loaded even with Adams. The Projets aren't guaranteed anything.
You know, we've been waiting for them to do that
thing for a long time. If not for the Dodgers
Many dynasty, they might have already won something. But one
player doesn't make a baseball team, so the projects can't
be thinking that the one setback will throw them off
(25:30):
their planes.
Speaker 2 (25:32):
That's uh right, what was it? Is it foul?
Speaker 10 (25:36):
Fair?
Speaker 2 (25:37):
What'd you say?
Speaker 10 (25:37):
His injury?
Speaker 7 (25:38):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (25:38):
Yeah, yeah, I'm sorry he puts him out there.
Speaker 4 (25:41):
It's foul.
Speaker 2 (25:43):
And I'm with you j R.
Speaker 4 (25:45):
Like one guy, and their bullpen was already great, and
then they went out and added some more pieces. They
will have enough in the bullpen. I mean, you hate
to lose the guy, there's no doubt about it. But
now baseball doesn't work like that.
Speaker 1 (25:56):
I also think it's foul, but also because I'm looking
at the Dodgers schedule. You know, they got a couple
of good, difficult series, got the Phillies coming up at
some point here towards the end, so they can still
make a run even without him, just simply based off. Again,
it's a tough schedule for the Dodgers. The two and
a half games behind right now, so they're still in it.
They're still in this thing, all right. Question number two,
(26:17):
This one's a doozy for JR Jr.
Speaker 5 (26:19):
Last night at Fenway, Trevor Story hit the second shortest
homer in the stat casting era three hundred and six
feet for context, that would not have been a home
run in any other Major League ballparks. Here's the question,
fou or fair to say that MLB needs to have
uniform stadium dimensions to prevent this kind of tomfoolery in
(26:40):
the future.
Speaker 10 (26:42):
Even though my eleven U nephew hit one that's fall
last week.
Speaker 3 (26:46):
Found that is a foul ball.
Speaker 10 (26:50):
That's part of baseball, right, part of his beauty. No
two parts are the same, right Like throughout history, certain
players have benefited from playing in bam By, while others
guess they had their power numbers suffered right because of
the size of the park. There's something they don't discuss
that much, but it affects the stat to a degree.
But it's like the altitude of Colorado leaves increase production,
(27:13):
or hitting left handed Yankee Stadium. But all that said,
non uniformity is what makes the MLB special. Let's be honest,
and the great hit is gonna hit in any park.
Home Runs aren't the only aspect of the game to me,
so that's something we'll have to live with. Im looking
for stuff to touch with my beautiful game.
Speaker 2 (27:30):
I'm with you.
Speaker 4 (27:31):
Foul that is foul.
Speaker 2 (27:33):
And here's the thing. If a Red Sox won the
AL home run lead was an Ale home.
Speaker 4 (27:39):
Run lead every year, then maybe you can make a
case that the ballpark's too small. But that's not the case.
Guys who play in other ballparks are hitting more home runs.
I don't remember the Red Sox. They hit a lot
of home runs, but not as many as you would think.
So I think it's foul.
Speaker 2 (27:56):
You know what I'm doing.
Speaker 1 (27:57):
I'm going fair just because you baseball fish NADOs here.
Speaker 2 (28:01):
Let me tell you something.
Speaker 1 (28:02):
When I go you talk about Lebron to Kobe MJ
statsore I talk about We've been talking about Joe Montana,
Tom Brady, all these guy sets. It's the same thing.
Ninety four feet the NBA, one hundred yards in the NFL.
Now you over here in three hundred and six, barely
three hundred yards, you get a home run. I might
be able to hit that if you throw pitching only
sixty miles per hour, So they get fair.
Speaker 2 (28:18):
Make a uniform.
Speaker 1 (28:19):
So when I talk about the stats of these baseball players,
I know that they all had the same equal opportunities.
Speaker 4 (28:24):
Hitting my sandwich for home runs at Fenways.
Speaker 5 (28:27):
All right, Fowler fair with JR. Gamble here with the
I couple, last one, the hottest take of the night.
Speaker 3 (28:33):
Here we go, let's do it, JR.
Speaker 5 (28:36):
Juan Soto had a career high six RBI last night,
and the Mets went over to Troy Ye that ron
and they won again here on Tuesday. And you should know,
very quietly, Juan Soto currently leads the medsic homers, run
scored ops, lugging the war, and he leads the majors
in walk So, JR. Is it surprise that or fair
(28:57):
to say that Sodo has lived up to that seven
hundred and sixty five million dollar contract so far.
Speaker 10 (29:04):
That's such a loaded question, but fair that's a fair ball.
I know guys are gonna disagree with me, but honestly,
come on, I couldn't understand why he was getting so
much grief. Even early in the in his first season
with the Mets, Rob said he was gonna not come
out to shoot, you know, bringing the ball over the park.
So I agree with that. I kind of understood that
(29:25):
took the time for him to get adjusted. But we
all know that the baseball season can't be judged and
to the end because there's up sending downs, and it's
hidden streets and the slump through one hundred and sixty
two games for a hitter. Social media has made a
lot of this stuff, and it's made it kind of goofy.
So players, you know, I feel like they played to
the back of the baseball cards at the end of
the day. So how would we know Soto was successful?
(29:47):
After three years or so in the contract. Have the
Mets won the World Series? Are the Mets consistent perennial
of playoff contenders? That's how you judge it. He's lived
up to the seven hundred and sixty five million dollar contract.
I can't judge that in one season.
Speaker 2 (30:02):
I'm gonna say foul. That is a foul ball, you know,
I mean, I get it. You can talk about the numbers.
Speaker 4 (30:09):
He's not a two fifty seven batter, Okay, that's what
two point fifty seven is very low for him as
a guy. Uh, he still hasn't won like an MVP
A lot of his numbers. Now, look at where the
Mets are. Are they better from a year ago before
they had them or worse? They're worse, which is so surprising.
And here's the other thing. I'm just talking about where
(30:31):
they are position wise and last but not least, he
didn't he didn't make the All Star team. His numbers
were that bad that that people didn't vote for him.
He should, you know, should have been an All Star.
It was because he struggled early on. People weren't just
hating on the contract. The numbers weren't there. So that's
so to say that he lived up to it where
(30:52):
in a year where he wasn't an All Star, I disagree.
Speaker 2 (30:55):
It's fair. I didn't pay the man for one year ball.
I paid the man for the ration of the contract.
Speaker 1 (31:01):
And I also think it's fair because the people of
that caliber find a way to bounce back, and he
did that throughout the season, started off slow.
Speaker 2 (31:07):
We're calling him one so so so it's what you
were calling. I coined it, and now we all would agree.
He got ribbed. He should have been an All Star.
Speaker 1 (31:15):
So to me, you know, he's been able to bounce
back and that's part of being you know, that good
or a great player. He can even he even has
room to get better next year. But actually, yeah, he
he proved it. Ultimately. I don't know if anybody's worth
three quarters of a billion dollars, but that's the story.
Speaker 2 (31:29):
For another.
Speaker 10 (31:31):
As you got it, they must have it for sure.
Speaker 2 (31:34):
All right, Dad, I appreciate you. Man. We'll do it
again next week.
Speaker 10 (31:37):
Thank you, fellas Se Soon
