Screen. Rob g we have a special guest at the
bottom of the hour, that's right.
Speaker 5 (01:16):
Dave Damashak, friend of the Steelers fan, got some good
do some good stuff with Dan Levintar these days and
DraftKings once coming and gloat a little bit about his Steel.
Speaker 4 (01:25):
About his steel All right, we'll do that with Dave.
It'll be fun.
Speaker 3 (01:29):
We got last call, so we got a lot of
stuff to get to and we talked about the Steelers
and they're wining and whatnot. I know you weren't that
in press, but they won. No, I was in pressed, okay.
Speaker 6 (01:39):
I mean the biggest part was I told you, I
was they had they lost the field, go goes in.
I was gonna be not on Aaron Rodgers on DK
and I told you, because you can't you put them
out there handicapped for a couple of games without their
best receiver.
Speaker 4 (01:50):
That's why I was gonna go.
Speaker 3 (01:51):
And and the other thing though, is and I don't
know what day were you working.
Speaker 4 (01:57):
Were you working Friday?
Speaker 7 (01:59):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (02:00):
When we talked about this game about yes, okay, because
I'm always mixed up with Rob g and I know
you guys, so I don't remember. But we talked about it,
and I told you the reason I wouldn't pick the
Ravens on paper. They should have won the game on paper,
but you know that's not how sports played.
Speaker 4 (02:19):
And I was like, what do we talk about that?
Always something goes wrong some situation.
Speaker 3 (02:25):
If you want to get up here and blame lamar
you didn't watch the game, Okay, seriously, cause you just
can't blame him. But in this case, with where they are,
I just don't know how John Harbor was fired today.
I'm dead serious. He's been there too long. The season
(02:49):
ends on the same thing all the time. Some misplay whatever,
and I get it. They go, well, how are you
gonna blame a midfield goal on the gold You're not
kicking the field goal. But as we know, if he
wins that game, coach don't get credit if he makes
that stial goal.
Speaker 4 (03:07):
True, coach gets credited. Harbor.
Speaker 3 (03:10):
All yeah, all year they scuffled and the coach got
him and rallied them to go on the road in
Pittsburgh and beat their rival.
Speaker 4 (03:16):
Oh my god, what a great job he did. That's
what would have happened.
Speaker 3 (03:21):
But the bottom line is the Ravens are disappointing. This
season started with them scoring forty points in Buffalo and.
Speaker 4 (03:34):
The opener and losing the game.
Speaker 3 (03:37):
The way he coached down the stretch, we talked about
a timeout. They could have run another play, at least
write a timeout they had And he's coaching scared because
he's afraid of Derrick Henry.
Speaker 4 (03:50):
I believe that.
Speaker 3 (03:51):
I believe that that's why they didn't do it. Derrick
Henry has fumbled this, you know, has been a fumbler.
And he paned instead of saying, I gotta give it
to my guy. Not only could he rush and get
ten yards or eight yards and get us even closer
for the field goal, he might have broke through him
when he's.
Speaker 6 (04:09):
Capable, He said, Listen, he was a handful of yards
away from having a Russian record, so meaning this is
what he does. Man, Listen, you we argue, we yell,
we go at each other. This is one time win agreement.
I've said this before with you guys, Nothing ever is
complete with the Ravens rock. Lamar Jackson will ball out,
(04:30):
likely will drop it, say Flowers will fumble Derek Henry.
Speaker 4 (04:34):
How could they catch that? Likely like.
Speaker 6 (04:39):
All the mispasses, all the caught in the end zone,
but the ref said it wasn't a catch and all
that suff Mark Andrews two point played two point conversion drop.
There's always something Lamar Jackson. Maybe he the defense plays
good keys to it. Maybe he's a little off. Derrick
Henry fumbles there. They never can be complete, and you're
always like, man, if y'all could be complete, you might
(05:00):
be the best team in the NFL the last two
or three years. Wise, you got enough receivers, not saying
you got Davontae and Puck out there. You got enough receivers,
two solid to good tight ends, got amazing running back,
your quarterbacks, the best player in the league, you know,
the last couple of years prior to this year, like
it's there. Defensively, you got the guys on paper. Now
Hamilton going out, maybe that costs. Point is that's the
(05:22):
trouble with the Ravens year in year out. We know this.
It comes down to a player two. And we will
give credit to the Chiefs last year they won those
games they didn't win in this zion.
Speaker 4 (05:34):
You talked about that. They won a lot of games
last straw.
Speaker 6 (05:40):
That's what it comes down too oftentimes, and the Ravens
just something's always off with them. And to not run
the ball when you had two seconds, two timeouts with
fourteen second two to one, it was two, they had three.
They called the one after the catch, yeah, meaning they
went they left the game with one. No, that's what
we know about to do. We're about to hey, Derrick Henry,
(06:02):
use them all that stuff you did on him, you
followed a couple of times. You know what, it is
a chance to make him for go give me eight
yards up the gut.
Speaker 4 (06:09):
So likely made up for some missus and a and whatnot.
Speaker 3 (06:12):
He made a great catch on fourth and seven, and
that ball dropped the seasons over right.
Speaker 6 (06:17):
There's no way to think we're getting ready to run
this RPO. They think we're gonna just hand it to
Derek Henry up the gut, Go do an RPO, breakout,
all side, slide down, call a timeout to you have
two timeouts. Don't put all the pressure on a rookie kicker.
By the way, kicker, this ain't just a regular game.
You miss it. We don't go to the playoffs. But
by the way, all the pressures on you. How about this?
(06:40):
One hundred and fifty something plus yards for Derrick Henry
first half, five carries, the second half rock What happened
against the was it the Bengals, chef, I'm sorry the
Chiefs on them.
Speaker 4 (06:52):
They just always are not on point.
Speaker 3 (06:55):
And when they lost to the Chiefs in the AFC,
Chimps didn't run anymore, didn't run the ball, you remember.
Speaker 4 (07:00):
That's what I want to say. It was just.
Speaker 6 (07:03):
It's always something with them, and it is time to
explore new options. A lot of people are saying, man,
trying to look at Lamar, the cap hitting on seventy five.
They're gonna work that deal out. They're gonna work it
out with him. He wants to be. Let me tell
you what I ain't doing. I'm not getting a guy
who's been the best player arguably for two to three years,
who had an off season for sure, in and out
the lineup. I'm not let that man go twenty eight
(07:25):
years old. I don't give a dang. We ain't letting
him go. So if some tango John, are you kidding me?
Speaker 2 (07:32):
Rush?
Speaker 3 (07:32):
I know it would be it would be illogical if
I got to pick between the two.
Speaker 6 (07:37):
And it's not even I'm not even thinking about thirty
four or something. We had a good ten twelve. Okay,
maybe Jude, he's twenty eight. You saw what he can
do now, Lamar. The only thing I would say to him,
I don't know what I mean. It's sincerely, Rob talking
Robbie about this. Maybe you can tell me. I want
you to tell me, Dub say Calvi you're going low overboard,
You're going overboard.
Speaker 3 (07:57):
All right?
Speaker 4 (07:57):
No, wait, at least let me get it out. Okay.
Speaker 6 (08:00):
I wonder if times if Lamar Jackson still has PTSD
from the he's not a quarterback, He's just an athlete.
He's a this and he wants to prove that I'm
a quarterback. Maybe it's just because he's banged up this season,
but there are a paandful of plays in the last
few games that he has played where he's not running. See,
there's an opportunity where you're like, this is weird, Like, oh,
(08:21):
it's right there, go pick up that third and he's
not running and he's kind of overthinking, and I'm like, dude,
drop back, ain't nothing near you out. This is what
made you Spectaculus, was made you dangerous, made you the
two time MVP.
Speaker 4 (08:33):
And I did see a few plays.
Speaker 6 (08:34):
I was texting you guys, text and Rob G like,
I don't know if again, if it's that in the
back like Jalen Hurts doesn't really run anymore, I don't
know if in the back of her heads.
Speaker 4 (08:42):
And I'm just being real, you tell me.
Speaker 6 (08:44):
Sometimes the black quarterback or they're just athletes, they're not quarterbacks.
They're not this and I don't know if that plays
in her heads sometimes, you know, and they just want
to prove it that I can throw this thing. When
it's like, dude, this is a run, dual threat quarterback
league period, white Black, Polynesian samoing, it don't matter. Can
you can you go get me some yards? And I
see some players where I'm like, this is weird. Lamar,
(09:06):
are you you'll be out?
Speaker 3 (09:08):
He's like, I don't think it's the proving part, because
maybe that's what I said. Maybe I've always think I mean,
because he's won two MVPs and all and he got
an All Pro without the MVP that so he really
almost had three m vps. But my point is I
just think it's not that I think he was injured.
(09:28):
I think he had a back injury. And rob G
even pointed out, I know he said that even last
year I think he had did he have eight hundred yards?
Speaker 4 (09:35):
Robb G? What was the number he had? Nine hundred
and fifteen rush? Ye fifteen last year and this year
what was the number?
Speaker 5 (09:41):
Three forty nine? So then the big thing is his
attempts is less than half.
Speaker 4 (09:46):
And he how many games he missed four games.
Speaker 5 (09:47):
He played thirteen games sixty seven attempts last year takes
seventeen games at one hundred and thirty nine rush.
Speaker 4 (09:53):
Yeah, so there's a there's a degree of that. Yeah,
just agree that he doesn't run as much. He's like
it is, but it's there. That's the thing.
Speaker 6 (10:00):
It's not like he's I'm not saying force it. I'm saying, oh,
you're subconscious of seeing Lamar. You go, oh he's about
to break out. Oh he's wait what is he And
he's like running sideways and he's like, call you, Lamar,
go And that's why we had a conversation about Lamar
is clearly faster than Josh Allen. He's more agile than
to Josh Allen. But I was saying, how Josh Allen
(10:21):
at the end of it, his is more productive, Like
it leads to something, it leads to a first down,
it leads to a gazillion touchdowns at this point, and like, Lamar,
that's what makes you amazing, Like use that and I
just he's like overthinking that. But that just just me
looking at Lamar, like I want you to get like
be you be own it be great. That's what makes
you the best player or you know, arguably one or
(10:43):
two in the league, and I'm seeing him like, what
is he's like running sideways kind of not just like
he's not breaking out to do what he does, right,
That would be my one thing. I looked at the
last couple of games and last time in particular in
a Winter Dual do or Die game. There's a few
times in the first album, Oh, he's about like the
he's easily running, that's what Lamar does.
Speaker 4 (11:02):
And then I'm like, and then he doesn't do it. It's
a little weird. That's a little weird. He's not that
a few times. I don't know.
Speaker 3 (11:07):
I mean, like I said, the the numbers bear it
out that he isn't running as much.
Speaker 4 (11:12):
And I don't know if he's also been banged up.
Speaker 3 (11:15):
And you know when you talk about a back or
whatever and you're trying to get out there and play
and you don't want to, like, you know, put yourself
in harm's way. Once you become a runner, you know
they can get they can get hit. And so what
did you not see me playing high school? Did you
not see me playing college? This is who I am.
It's football dash Jackson Dart Okay, this is what it is.
(11:36):
I was like, Okay, it's football. You're not watching for
the Giants, so I'm thinking about looking at another quarterbacks
football Rob crazy all right?
Speaker 4 (11:47):
But yeah, John Harball, he doesn't.
Speaker 6 (11:50):
He doesn't make you feel confident when the game is
on the line and it's happened too often and the
team doesn't And part of that's a reflection of the
coach rop right where you don't feel like they can
close this deal. At a certain point, we started looking
at the coach looking at the sideline like their reflection
of you.
Speaker 4 (12:06):
Rob g jump in.
Speaker 5 (12:07):
I got a big question for you guys, because coming
into the season, both of y'all had your chest all
puffed out like you were peacocking around the studios that
this was the year for the Baltimore Ravens. Yep, they
got all these players, they've they've they've warned their playoff scars.
Speaker 4 (12:23):
You know they've been through it. This is the year
they break through.
Speaker 5 (12:25):
In fact, coming into the season, the Baltimore Ravens, I
knows that sounds like a lot, but in football terms,
had a thirteen chance of winning the Super Bowl according
to the odds makers, Unless you are a returning champion.
Speaker 4 (12:37):
That is a huge number on us. That's a big
number in football. That it's not the NBA football. That's
a huge number. And a lot of people picked them. Yeah,
for sure.
Speaker 5 (12:44):
And to your point, Lamar Jackson got banged up all season,
The defense was non existent for the first month, and
they finally got it together later.
Speaker 3 (12:53):
Don't forget that the first game was the right you know,
they score forty on the road and lose that.
Speaker 5 (12:59):
They had really inexplicable losses, you know, Derrick Henry a
couple of fumbles and win against the Lions. Once against
the Buffalo Zay Flowers had inexplicable like Isaiah Likely going
to the aenzone, drops the ball. All that stuff went
wrong and they were a forty four yard.
Speaker 4 (13:16):
Field goal away from making the playoffs, right, winning the adventures?
Speaker 5 (13:19):
So why then, are you so quick to jump off
the bandwagon when all that stuff went sideways and you
still believe in the talent, You still believing, Lamar Jackson,
are you so ready to tear it all down?
Speaker 4 (13:28):
I know I was a GOBNNA say, I know, I
have my answer.
Speaker 3 (13:31):
Well, it's a combination. I'm just I think the coach
you need to get a new voice. Has been too
long and you haven't. You keep thinking something's going to
change because you, oh, just bring it back next year.
Oh yeah, just like you keep doing that and then
here you go, you're ten years later and nothing's happened.
So that's the scary part. And number two, the defense
(13:54):
let them down again and the touchdown, Yeah, dB fell
down whatever, know whatever. But I'm just saying, no, pres
this is what we've been talking about all year with
their defense, and they had how many games did they
give up at the end in the fourth quarter?
Speaker 4 (14:10):
A ton?
Speaker 6 (14:11):
And my thing, rob G is I can't keep going. Lamar,
Derrick Henry, whatever it may be, is so great that
we'll be eleven and you know six, we'll be twelve
and five. But when I need it, we don't feel right.
We're always something on, We've got penalties, we got dry.
It's like the mojo, the ethos of the team is
never right, and that is a reflection of the coach.
(14:33):
And at some point I need somebody that can make
us feel calm, make us feel confident, make us feel
like we know what we're doing. And part of that
is Lamar find a way at times in the playoffs.
I will give you that. I'll be the first admit that.
But also part of it is a coach where this
team none of us feel confident. Do you feel confident
if I told you they had to go win this
close game against the Bills of the Patriots, or say
the Chiefs were in there again, do you no, you
(14:55):
feel like something's gonna go wrong.
Speaker 4 (14:57):
Rob.
Speaker 3 (14:57):
I didn't feel good for them to go to Pitch
Broun win that game, the blue Pittsburgh guy.
Speaker 4 (15:01):
And they should they you should be like, oh, they
got this.
Speaker 5 (15:04):
To your point, you know I'm playing Devil's out of it,
but to your point, yesterday here the stats, third down
Baltimore four of twelve. Okay, uh, Aaron Rodgers is eighty
seven years old, right, Why on earth was he only
sacked twice and Lamar Jackson was sacked three times?
Speaker 4 (15:20):
That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (15:21):
Penalties double for the Baltimore races. Stupid penalty time of
does that look like on coaching? I had it for
almost nine minutes longer in Baltimore.
Speaker 6 (15:30):
And he's and he's a he's a really good coach,
not saying he's like get him out and he sucks
more So to your point, is it a voice change
and is it a confidence?
Speaker 4 (15:38):
Is it somebody else?
Speaker 6 (15:39):
Is there a Ben Johnson like guy, if you will,
who would say no, no, no, You got him right there.
This is that missing little thing that I would do
to seal the deal with the talent like Lamar Jackson.
Speaker 3 (15:50):
All right, eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight
seven seven nine nine six sixty three sixty nine. Through
the Ravens need to clean house and rebuild around Lamar Jackson.

Speaker 3 (17:35):
Disappointed in them, they should be praising my uh successes
on my pigs.
Speaker 6 (17:40):
Nothing no love for me. Well not the steal I
think the Lions was a good one. I think the
stealer one because they're like, it's gonna be the.
Speaker 4 (17:46):
Same thing cheese shop.
Speaker 6 (17:47):
But it's a number of was a while ago. They
gave you some props, all right, what the probably? I
think the steal because it's they're gonna lose in the
first round. We were right about with the moves and
stop they are give me that Wayne Back. No, no,
do it, lady, we got time. You ain't betting that, man.
We'll bet another pair of Jordan's or something on this one.
You would take that. I am about to say, I'll
(18:08):
take that bet right now.
Speaker 3 (18:10):
Quiet Rady In seven ninety nine on Fox, what would
you do? Clean house or rebuild around Lamar? When if
you're talking about the Ravens, Let's go to Darren in
d C. You're on the couple of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 4 (18:22):
What's up Darren?
Speaker 7 (18:25):
Very new year, robbing h Yeah, that's right.
Speaker 4 (18:30):
How are you?
Speaker 7 (18:32):
I'm good. I can't complain. I'll tell you what I
would get rid of. John Harper.
Speaker 8 (18:36):
He would have been the first one on Black Friday.
Speaker 9 (18:38):
Black.
Speaker 4 (18:39):
I'm with you, man, he's been there too long.
Speaker 7 (18:42):
He wouldn't even got on the plane leaving Pittsburgh. He
hit it like call his brother. Ain't get it.
Speaker 4 (18:49):
Hey right with y'all.
Speaker 7 (18:51):
Here's the thing about it.
Speaker 8 (18:53):
The last few years Baltimore has been fined and ready
to win.
Speaker 7 (18:57):
Yeah, and he keeps he keeps getting right, you can't
coach not the win. He coaches not to lose.
Speaker 8 (19:03):
And any time you coach not to lose, just shuwn,
I'm gonna lose.
Speaker 3 (19:06):
And that's what happened when they didn't run the ball
last night in that situation to get.
Speaker 8 (19:12):
But every time they get in a big game, he
gets away from the identity, which is run the ball.
Speaker 7 (19:16):
Play good defense, play action with Lamar. Let Lamar be special.
Speaker 8 (19:20):
He tries to make Lamar like he's this big time
great passing quarterback. He can pass the ball, but that's
not his that's not his fort that's not.
Speaker 7 (19:30):
What makes Mark Lamar special. Lamar is special because you
got to worry about his legs as.
Speaker 4 (19:34):
Well, both of them. Right, He's a dual threat.
Speaker 7 (19:36):
And the only thing I say, the reason why Harburn
gotta go.
Speaker 8 (19:39):
He's had the most blown double digits in the last
few years over anybody in the fourth quarter. And when
that comes down to coach, and that's not a mysterious
Henry bumble or Lamar interception. That's like coaching not.
Speaker 7 (19:54):
To win and versus I mean coaching not to lose
versus coaching to win. And he he's a good guy.
He's a good coach and he'll laying on his feet somewhere.
Speaker 8 (20:03):
But they need a new voice.
Speaker 7 (20:04):
So uh, Jeorge, So like with you having with Jordan
when he had Doug Collins, Dull Collins had them.
Speaker 8 (20:10):
Top ready in the playoffs, but it wasn't a Phil
Jackson gout that put a.
Speaker 7 (20:14):
Different structure place that they can actually win the championship.
Speaker 3 (20:21):
How about Tim and Florida. You're on the odd couple
of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 4 (20:24):
What's up, Tim?
Speaker 2 (20:25):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (20:26):
Hey, what's going on?
Speaker 9 (20:27):
Guys?
Speaker 7 (20:28):
Happy New Year?
Speaker 4 (20:28):
You too?
Speaker 10 (20:29):
You so listen, I totally disagree with the last guy
that called okay. If you get rid of John Hartball,
you are absolutely insane. He is the reason that they
have been relevant for years.
Speaker 7 (20:42):
Keep in mind, you.
Speaker 3 (20:42):
Can't keep doing that card though. I mean, come on,
you can't tell me, let me, let me ask you.
Are you a Ravens guy?
Speaker 10 (20:50):
Listen, nobody believed in Lamar Jackson except for.
Speaker 4 (20:55):
We're past that. We're past that now. Every year, every year,
every year, they have.
Speaker 3 (21:01):
The same roster, the best roster in the league. You
can't keep losing every year, losing.
Speaker 11 (21:07):
Every year and catches that pass.
Speaker 7 (21:09):
Last year, they're going to the Super Bowl. What do
you mean losing every year?
Speaker 11 (21:12):
They lost every they lost, they lost every year.
Speaker 3 (21:16):
It ain't about being relevant. I keep telling you, it's
about winning. Stop with the relevant. That's old school. Maybe
once the same way they didn't win the just being
a Super Bowl by now, come on, man.
Speaker 4 (21:33):
Constantly, Tim, Tim, Tim, I don't know. Here's here's where
I disagree with you. Tim.
Speaker 6 (21:39):
You can't keep having the best player, yeah in football
and MVP candidate every year the last four or five
years or so, and then come up short.
Speaker 4 (21:47):
And not only that, it's how bad you look.
Speaker 6 (21:49):
You stop running the ball one half other half guys
are making a bunch of mistakes and penalties and team
of the coach. You gotta admit that, Tim, That's what
happens in sports. Quarterbacks get out of love, get a
lot out of the blame. Coaches get out of love,
get a lot of the blame. And at a certain
point it's man in the mayor moment. All right, Well,
what's not to mention that he was masterful when they
(22:10):
were more defensive oriented, if the Ray Lewis era and
all that, moving a little bit forward, but that was
his strength.
Speaker 3 (22:15):
But they haven't won up They haven't won it a
long time, like he's been there too long and at
some point, uh, you know, like like he's making a point.
Speaker 4 (22:23):
I keep bringing it up.
Speaker 3 (22:24):
But but but it really, uh it really is a
true comparison.
Speaker 4 (22:30):
When you think.
Speaker 3 (22:30):
About Tony Dungee getting the Tampa Bay Bucks right on
the cusp year after year after year, they finally say,
let's bring in John Gruden. They won the Super Bowl
next year, and with that mentality, you would have never won.
Speaker 4 (22:44):
You might not have no down.
Speaker 3 (22:45):
He went on to win with Indianapolis, but at that
time it had run out and it runs cool.
Speaker 6 (22:51):
They may not obviously they may not fire him, but
the idea of having this conversation is not crazy.
Speaker 3 (22:55):
All right, real quick, Andre from Massachusetts, You're on the
odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 4 (22:59):
What's up right?
Speaker 7 (23:02):
Hey you doing?
Speaker 12 (23:02):
Thanks for taking the call. Happy Monday. I gotta say
I'm opposed to blowing it up and building around John Harbor. Listen,
it's getting late for building round Lamar Jackson Harbaugh his
stint in Baltimore. It is getting late. I need to
see it for one more year. Here's the reason why.
Speaker 2 (23:19):
Listen.
Speaker 12 (23:20):
We had a situation in Detroit that people might remember
where they had their championship team rob You remember this, okay,
that won the championship in O four, should have won
it in uh. They had a number of years they
should have won in a row. Here's my point. The
Celtics knocked them out of there in two thousand and
eight and six games when Detroit had the advantage because
(23:40):
Celtics played in a multiple seven game series. What did
Joe Dumars do? He blew it up, He got Ridy
Chauncey traded him for Allen Iverson, just blew the team up.
He was so frustrated with that group. Detroit Pistons haven't
been heard from again since now with Kate Cunningham, it's
been more than twenty years. We got to give it
one more year to see if he can get through it.
Speaker 2 (23:58):
As munch.
Speaker 12 (23:58):
If it's another middling performing year and he's just not
doing it, then you do it. But again, we need
to see an actual plan right now. There's a lot
of frustration. But Joe Dumars back in the day and
the Ravens, I guarantee you they don't have a plan
for the nuclear option like these other teams, but they
can start getting it ready right now. You give him
one more year, you see, and then you make the
shift for the next generation somebody.
Speaker 6 (24:20):
The only difference is, and you know this, he mentioned
them trading the heart and soul that team of Chauncey
that will be like trading Lamar.
Speaker 4 (24:28):
We're talking about a coach well, but also and then
Larry Brown.
Speaker 3 (24:31):
But also the difference is they had one though they
have them with this group, you.
Speaker 4 (24:38):
Know what I'm saying, Like, that's the difference.
Speaker 3 (24:40):
They did win, and they did go back a second year,
and then they kept they couldn't get over the hume
from it, and it was like yeah, then it was like, okay,
we can't keep bringing the same group back every year
and we losing in the Eastern Conference finals. They went
like five or six years in a row.
Speaker 4 (24:56):
I think it was six year.
Speaker 6 (24:58):
All right, we gotta breathe right now, getting ready to
break down what is trending, and then we've come right back.
We'll have Dame demishd Dame's Check getting ready to join
us as well.
Speaker 2 (25:07):

Speaker 6 (25:19):
And Dave Demishek is joining us now host of the
Football America Show on the Lebritarden Network and The Shech
Show podcast.
Speaker 4 (25:27):
Dave Maddy No yet? Are you? What's up? Dave?
Speaker 9 (25:30):
And to you what's happening Fellas? Happy New Year? Twenty
twenty six has gotten off to a grand start. From
where I sit. Just in case, I highly doubt I
have to let anybody know this, but I'm in Indiana
University graduate. So I was at the Rose Bowl and
watching them not just beat, but destroy the Alabama Crimson Tide.
(25:51):
I'm a Pittsburgh Steelers fan and I watch them survive
the Baltimore Ravens. And what's more, I'm a Pittsburgh Penguins fan.
They haven't even lost yet this season.
Speaker 4 (25:59):
Wow, you're looking up?
Speaker 9 (26:01):
How are you?
Speaker 4 (26:02):
Guys? You should just hang up now, know having life
is good? Boy? I tell you talk more about that game.
Yeah last night. I mean they did a lot of things.
Speaker 3 (26:13):
When you think about what Aaron Rodgers had to do
without DK, right, uh, all these all these receivers who
haven't even had much experience with him, had to throw
the ball that many times. Dave, you know, forty seven times,
didn't get didn't turn the ball over, only was sacked
a couple times. I mean, that was a tremendous effort
(26:33):
to put them in a situation to win and uh
and they got it done. That's why they brought them
to Pittsburgh.
Speaker 9 (26:40):
Yeah, you know, listen, I've been plenty cynical about these
Stealers the last not just this season, but last season too.
I didn't find it particularly steelery as a longtime fan
that they were going after what I considered to be
washed up mercenaries from from other franchises to try and
make their way. Nevertheless, you know, the last twenty four hours,
(27:04):
it seems to me everybody has just gone right to
the end of the book of last night's game.
Speaker 7 (27:10):
Oh they got lucky.
Speaker 9 (27:11):
That guy should have made the kick, and that's that,
and the Steelers are are fortunate. And in fact, of course,
most professional kickers in this day and age do make
kicks under fifty yards level would they make them under
sixty yards as well? But I'm with you, Rob, I
feel like the Steelers played mostly a pretty good game
given the context of how those games, but with the
(27:33):
Ravens tend to go, they you know, they the Ravens
had a number of chances at at ten nothing game open, right,
they could have. Really I was waiting for I was
waiting for Derek Henry to snap off a forty or
sixty yard or to assault it away. But they, you know,
(27:53):
they were able to hang around because of the defense.
And I've been skeptical of what that defense is capable
of doing against a high end offense. But you know,
especially after how bad they looked in the first couple
of possessions. Man, you know, I'm stunned and excited and
all that, and I'm happy with the matchup that it yielded.
I think the Houston Texans might be top to bottom
(28:15):
the best AFC team left standing here. But I also
think that given what we already saw the Chargers do
to the Steelers in so far and what the Bills
did to the Steelers in Pittsburgh, I think the Texans
are their best shot at moving on finally to the
divisional round after a decade of never winning a playoff game.
Speaker 6 (28:36):
You know, I look at this, I mean, Aaron Rodgers
did exactly what he's gonna do if you don't pressure him, right,
that is just slice and dice and that's what he
did to his credit. One of the things I want
to ask you about because you got the tenor of
the town the very first quarter. It feels like fans
are ready to boo there. They've been booed already, and
Aaron Rodgers said, hey, it was boo worthy performance.
Speaker 4 (28:56):
You know, a handful of weeks ago they've boomed.
Speaker 6 (28:58):
Mike Tomlin, what's it because the second half they're exciting,
right because they've got something going, they're gonna win the game.
Speaker 4 (29:04):
What's it like in this city right now? Are they
just that desperate for a playoffs? Way a playoff?
Speaker 8 (29:08):
Right?
Speaker 6 (29:08):
Are they ready to blame? Mike Tomlin? What's it like
right now?
Speaker 7 (29:12):
Well?
Speaker 9 (29:12):
A tale of two football cities for you. You guys
are aware that there is a line drawn between the
states of Pennsylvania and Ohio. On the left side of
that line is Ohio and Cleveland is there they? I
don't know. They won five games all season long, badly
(29:33):
one of them against Pittsburgh last week, and what you
figured the Steelers had to have if they were going
to make the playoffs. But either way, they win all
of five games and there they're star players, breaks a record,
but only kind of sorta because it took him seventeen games,
thank you record. I mean Deacon Jones in three seasons
(29:54):
in the late sixties had somewhere around twenty two at
least in fourteen games, and al Baker did it is
as a rookie at sixteen games at seventy anyway, don't
we don't have to go through a ball. I mean,
seventeen games is at least one game more than it
took anybody else, So we're not going to ask for
risk it. Nevertheless, Brown carry Miles Garrett off.
Speaker 4 (30:17):
The field crazy and you wake up in.
Speaker 9 (30:20):
The morning and they fire the coach, but they carried
the guy. So anyway, I bring that up to say,
the other side of that is Pennsylvania and Pittsburgh and
all those Lombardies and everything else. And yeah, Calvin, I
think they're you know, Mike Tomlin to a degree, and
more broadly, the Steelers are a victim of their success.
(30:43):
It is great I sing songs about Mike Tomlin in
the age of free agency and all that can go wrong,
that he's never had a losing record in nineteen years.
I think we're a cynical society that we can't point
at that and celebrate that and say how remarkable it
is you have done that. That said, I think the
(31:03):
last couple of years have been very frustrating. I've been
vexed myself, like I already said about the decision to
bring in Russell Wilson and make him your starter on purpose,
and then after seeing how that went a year ago,
to say, yeah, let's do the same thing again with
another guy who's forty plus and all of that and
doesn't look like he's got much much gas left in
(31:27):
the tank. But Calvin, I'm with you, man him stroking
those throws in the second half, especially if you're a
human being. Imagine you just put up six points against
the bum Browns and you insisted on targeting mvs three
straight times to end that game a week ago, and
that now you hear the boo birds and now you're
(31:49):
responsible for the Mike Tomlin era. Maybe ending that was
a legit buzz in my opinion, and that all all
the gravity on your shoulders Aaron Rodgers like, hey man,
you don't have DK metcap, you don't have all the
weapons that you'd like to have out here. You have
to save the day here and to his credit, he
saved the day man with some big time throws. But
(32:12):
like I say, I also think you got to shout
out the defense for repressing them through three quarters at
least before it turned into an insane shootout like you've
never seen before between these.
Speaker 4 (32:23):
Yeah, that was a fun game. Yeah it was.
Speaker 3 (32:25):
It was a playoff game, and I just I'm just
not going to buy into the you know, the missfield
goal because the Steelers.
Speaker 4 (32:36):
Missed an extra point, right, I have made it so
people don't talk. Come, we don't talk about the extra.
Speaker 3 (32:41):
Point that was made, I mean missed, and the idea
we could sit here all day. I could undress Tom
Brady's career if you want to talk about plays Dave
that were left on and then the Falcons not running
the ball first and ten at to twenty two and
passing the ball and the tuck rule and spy get
(33:02):
I could go over all that.
Speaker 9 (33:04):
Rob, you are on the short list of my spiritual
brothers where this is concerned you and I love doing
the what if yes election points. The butterfly effect. Tom
Brady is the number one in pro football history, at
least because you know, here's a good one for you.
To consider. If Archie didn't meet Olivia in Oxford, Mississippis.
Speaker 4 (33:26):
Okay, I'm going with you too, I'm done.
Speaker 9 (33:28):
Then then Tom Brady wins like eleven or.
Speaker 7 (33:32):
Thirteen mart Yes.
Speaker 9 (33:35):
But on the other hand, you know, if not for
Kyrie and for Eli on another big throat to Manningham
and so you can also give the Patriots three or
four more rings. So you can what if at all
you want. That's the way the cookie crumbles in football.
Obviously it was the last play. So the you know, the.
Speaker 3 (33:57):
For you kickers miss field goal in games, it's not him.
He was twenty eight No no, no, no, no, that kid.
That was his first walk off dave, first walk off
attempt in his career.
Speaker 4 (34:09):
He never had a kick to win a game like that.
He didn't.
Speaker 3 (34:13):
And I bet you if you pulled the shorts down,
they were brown. Oh I'm just telling you, all right,
thank you for that. Calvin kleinad well, think.
Speaker 7 (34:21):
About think about to the bookends.
Speaker 9 (34:23):
And I don't know if it's Shakespeare in tragedy, if
it's just downright biblical kind of stuff. But remember Justin
Tucker comes to the Baltimore Ravens because in a playoff game,
Billy Kundiff misses a gimme field goal that would have
tied the game and sent it to overtime. In Foxborough,
they cut him. They bring in Justin Tucker. He wins
(34:44):
them an outsize percentage of games over the course of
his time there. I don't know what ever happened to
that guy, but anyway, Yeah, we.
Speaker 4 (34:50):
Can't go there.
Speaker 6 (34:51):
Hey Dave, we got a break. Yeah, appreciate you man.
Happy New Year to.
Speaker 11 (34:54):
You, you two fellas.
Speaker 7 (34:56):
Take good care.
Speaker 9 (34:57):
Here we go, Steelers, Here we go.
Speaker 4 (34:58):
I could hear my half phones is breaking up some
like you said here all right?
Speaker 6 (35:00):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven
ninety nine on Fox. Last Car, Rob, that's right, last
car you've wanted to get in all day. Here's a
chance it's the couple. Fox Sports Radio, Oh God, that's it.
Just one more k That's it.

Fox Sports three, Cosby's House two.
Speaker 4 (35:35):
I had a drink and I woke up disrobed. I'm
just gonna lay that alone. You're so dumb. It's the right,
you know.
Speaker 3 (35:42):
Yeah, Yeah, this is gonna be the only one show.
Speaker 4 (35:45):
It's gonna be the solo show exactly.
Speaker 6 (35:47):
Our couple Robin Kelvin on a Magic City Monday, great
short shoots to.
Speaker 4 (35:50):
Cringe all the time, like, oh God, what did he just?
I can imagine. I know what I've endured, but I've
been costing him so much money with the King movement.
Rodney of no idea.
Speaker 3 (35:58):
I'm surprised I didn't derail it total no.
Speaker 4 (36:01):
Because see that's the thing.
Speaker 6 (36:02):
Jesus was running with people that needed some some some guidance.
Speaker 4 (36:05):
You wasn't running that far, you know. No, he was
pulling up on him. He pulled a right up on hers,
tried to act Magic City mondays real quick. That's right
for his brand. We had to stand up to them.
So that's how you got worship wednds.
Speaker 6 (36:19):
Okay, that's about you know. I like that compromise though,
And then y'all had a nerd to come to me.
You know, you could change words to Wednesday. First of all, Lord,
and if loving the Lord is wrong, I don't be right.
Speaker 4 (36:28):
That's number one. Number two wanted to make it heathen winds. No,
how much more do you want?
Speaker 6 (36:32):
We got Magic City Monday, we got what you got Thursday, Thursdays, trap,
trap Tuesdays?
Speaker 11 (36:38):
What more?
Speaker 4 (36:38):
You out? My god? All right? From the back Fridays?
What like, way back, like from the back of the day. Yeah,
throw back, yeah, throwing that. That's what I said. As
long as you what?
Speaker 2 (36:49):
All right?
Speaker 4 (36:49):
Come on, let's go last call, last call.
Speaker 6 (36:51):
Let's get to it, last call, last last call.
Speaker 2 (37:01):
Time on the odd car.
Speaker 3 (37:03):
We got Harold in Chicago. You're on the odd couple
of Fox Sports Radio. I do know one Harold in Chicago.
I don't think this is in Chicago. What's up, Harold?
Speaker 9 (37:14):
Maybe?
Speaker 11 (37:15):
What's going on? Guys? Long time caller, a long time listener,
many time calls.
Speaker 4 (37:19):
Yes, what's up, buddy man?
Speaker 14 (37:21):
Just like I did on New Year's Day, I came
to congratulate Rob on his madness that keeps happening ever
since Tom Brady football died. He is on this hYP
percentage streak that's just just out of control.
Speaker 11 (37:35):
And you know what to give Kelvinson bail when it
comes to pregame stuff. Kelvin always sounds more logical. Ravens
had better individual players, four more at home, there's no wind,
and this is where Lamar shines. And then all of
a sudden, rob and say something like.
Speaker 14 (37:52):
Well, Aaron Rodgers' shoes are yellow, and Raven's.
Speaker 11 (37:55):
Always fumbled and he'll be right. And I have no
idea how he keep doing it. It's madness, but there's
a method to his madness.
Speaker 4 (38:04):
Let me tell you something.
Speaker 11 (38:05):
I can't call it look anyware.
Speaker 4 (38:07):
If anyone listened to the show, it's Harrold.
Speaker 3 (38:09):
Hey, Harold, I appreciate you because it's hard man to keep,
you know, knocking him down.
Speaker 6 (38:15):
You know what I mean. You're still talking about your
picture or something else. All right is still coming through.
I'm waiting for my son, I said you nothing yet.
Come on, hey, I'm going out of town.
Speaker 12 (38:27):
What.
Speaker 4 (38:28):
Yeah, it's my birthday going on Canada Raptors k k
K cake Cake.
Speaker 3 (38:36):
The Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon is coming up next.
Speaker 2 (38:40):
I never missed your radio show.
Speaker 4 (38:41):
I never hear it, so I never miss it. Did
you hear that
