Want them to miss any of the show.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
Trolling or Roland is at the bottom of the hour
with our man Martin Weiss.

Speaker 3 (01:21):
You want to keep it locked for that. But in
the time being, Rob.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
We got to talk about Kevin Durant, and Kevin Durant
believes Rob that he should be in the goat conversation,
all right.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
He told the Arizona Republic he.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
Was asked, why don't you think you're in the goat conversation?

Speaker 3 (01:48):
KD? You know?

Speaker 1 (01:50):
And KD said it's because he was. He went to
the Warriors. He said, why should not be in it?
That's the question you should ask, why not? What haven't
I done? And that question gives props to our man
Dwayne Rankin from the Arizona Republican who asked.

Speaker 3 (02:14):
KD that question and got that answer.

Speaker 4 (02:17):
Rob.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
I'm gonna let you start.

Speaker 5 (02:20):
I just Kevin Durant is a fantastic basketball player, have
all time greats I don't have. I just what is
there bad to say about him?

Speaker 6 (02:30):
Chris? But he's not in that conversation.

Speaker 5 (02:34):
I'm sorry people, Kobe Bryant, Chris, A lot of players
love whatever. He's won more championships, right, played twenty years
with the Lakers, all this other stuff. He's not in
that conversation. I know people like to put him in there,
but that's not a cop. You think the all time

(02:54):
greatest there are ten people you're talking about, Like, I'm
just saying like that can't there's no such lists if
there were ten people on that list, Chris So, Kevin
Durants had a fantastic career. Uh you know of late.
Thank god he's playing, but better's healthy. He's playing great

(03:15):
a number of years. He's been heard moving around. Dude,
I'm not taking anything away. You went to a team
that already won a championship without you.

Speaker 6 (03:23):
You went and you didn't go along for the ride.

Speaker 5 (03:26):
You were MVP twice and they probably would have won
again if he didn't get hurt.

Speaker 6 (03:30):
So, I love all that about.

Speaker 5 (03:31):
Kevin Durant, but but if you want to put him
next to Michael Jordan and Lebron James, I just don't
think he's on that plateau.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
I just don't.

Speaker 6 (03:41):
And that's not a dis.

Speaker 3 (03:43):
Even a knock. It is not a knock.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
I'm sorry, and you're right, Like, nobody in their right
mind would deny that Kevin Durant is an all time
great player. And I'm he's definitely rob I'd say at
time twenty five player, maybe a top twenty player. Probably
most people probably have him top twenty, but there.

Speaker 3 (04:10):
Is no way he's in the goat conversation.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
And Rob, the only time it has ever even been
brought up, the.

Speaker 3 (04:22):
Only time.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
That he is that he's ever been discussed as in
the goat conversation.

Speaker 3 (04:30):
Is now right.

Speaker 6 (04:32):
I mean, I really like you don't.

Speaker 1 (04:34):
If you're in the goat conversation, others should put you
in it. It's not gonna be because you said, hey,
why I'm not I'm not exactly I mean, and he
said whatever I done, and I'm not even gonna I
don't want to say it in the KD No, because

(04:57):
he's he is awesome and he's a great player. I'm
glad he got his rings. I was one of the
few that didn't kill him when he nationally. When he
went to Golden State, Uh, he played well. It was
a very similar to what Lebron did. Obviously Lebron didn't
go to a team that had beaten him but in
the playoffs. But still he did join some great players.

(05:21):
But here's Kad said whatever I done, and I'm I'm
just gonna say it matter of factly, Rob, I think
there are generally three players in.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
The goat conversation.

Speaker 1 (05:37):
Michael Jordan, Lebron James, Kareem Abdul Jabari.

Speaker 6 (05:42):
I agree, I agree a lot of play.

Speaker 3 (05:45):
I mean, is it really in it?

Speaker 6 (05:47):
No, it's not really.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
He's got all those numbers, but he only won two rings.
Larry Bird, for goodness sake, isn't in it. He's never
nobody's really been shock, isn't in it? Magic to some
magic's right there on the periphery.

Speaker 3 (06:06):
But for the most part, he's not really in it.

Speaker 5 (06:09):
He's considered an all time grade and you might put
him on your Chris.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
He's right right, I mean, about as close as you
can get to the Gold conversation withoutout actually being in it.
But here's the thing, Rob, Michael Jordan, Lebron James, Kevin Durant,
What were they that? Kevin Durant's not all time great defenders? Yep,

(06:33):
all time great defenders. Like Katie said, what haven't I done?
That's what you haven't done. You've never made an All
defensive team. Lebron James made six All Defensive teams, Michael
Jabbar made twelve, Michael Jordan made nine and.

Speaker 3 (06:50):
Was a Defensive Player of the Year. Right like that,
that's it. I mean, KD is a great score.

Speaker 1 (06:58):
I won't go as far as some I heard Kendrick
Perkins say today that he's the greatest scorer ever.

Speaker 3 (07:04):
No he's not. Michael Jordan's the greatest scorer.

Speaker 5 (07:07):
I like Kendrick in his absolute terms, but I'm always wondering.

Speaker 3 (07:12):
I love Kendrick.

Speaker 1 (07:13):
We've had him on the show he started doing before
he went to SPN.

Speaker 3 (07:18):
God bless him.

Speaker 1 (07:19):
That's a great brother, and I'm happy for his success.
But no, he's not the greatest scorer of all time.
But he's mainly a score. He's not a pastor like
Lebron or a pastor like Magic.

Speaker 3 (07:34):
He mainly scores.

Speaker 1 (07:35):
Kareem obviously a defender rebounder because if you say because besides,
but still a great rebounder. Lebron was obviously a tremendous
passer along with scoring, and Michael Jordan was a fantastic
defender along with scoring.

Speaker 3 (07:55):
Like they they did more than just score.

Speaker 1 (07:59):
And you know, again, I don't want to tear apart
Kd's resume because it's a great one, but he is just.

Speaker 3 (08:05):
Not rob I think the only way.

Speaker 1 (08:09):
Because you know, KD talks about basketball in terms like
I just want to get better every day.

Speaker 3 (08:20):
It's almost like he likes Steven.

Speaker 1 (08:22):
You know, he hasn't said this to my knowledge, but
it's kind of like down playing that it's really about winning,
and it's really just about mastering the game right and
just getting your skills up. And you know, you're playing
against the game. You're not really even playing against the opponent.

(08:44):
If I'm wrong, that's fine, But I'm this kind of
the feel sometimes I get from the way KD talks
about the game, and I'm wondering, is he thinking, Rob
skill wise, come on, I gotta handle, I can pass,
and we get it for his hid that I can
shoot with anybody, like, come on, skill for skill. Nobody's

(09:07):
buried to me, But I would say to Katie, first
of all, even that skill for skill, like you're not
the goat in that regard.

Speaker 3 (09:15):
But it's not about that Rob.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
How many times do we see a non descript player,
sometimes international player when the skills competition at All Star Weekend, Right,
it ain't about just how he can dribble the best,
shoot the best, rebound the best and all that.

Speaker 3 (09:34):
It's about who is the best, who has the most impact.

Speaker 5 (09:41):
It ain't It's totally different about just skills, and we
understand that he has tremendous skills and as a great player,
one of the all time greats. But to even think
that you're in like in a goat conversation, it's so
few people are in that conversation, Chris, that it's it's
almost I don't want to use the term. I'll say

(10:03):
something else, but it just doesn't make any sense, like
like to really ask that question. And the reporter who
got him to talk about this or even brought it up,
he could have brought up the defensive aspect, you know
what I mean, as a pushback.

Speaker 6 (10:16):
I would have loved to have.

Speaker 5 (10:17):
Heard what he said when he said, well, whatever, what
don't I do?

Speaker 6 (10:21):
Well?

Speaker 5 (10:22):
Rattled off the numbers you said, Chris, and then I
would love to hear what his comeback would be on
why you haven't excelled defensively like some of the all
time great players?

Speaker 1 (10:35):
Yeah, no doubt, Rob, that would It would have been
interesting to hear Kd's answer. And I wish KD had
not even gone there. I mean, it's a fun topic
to talk about. It gives us, you know, fighter for
the show. But in bringing this up, Rob, he probably,

(10:59):
like you said, we we've kind of and and I
think the right thing because he's a great player, so
you don't want to like talk about his career his
accomplishments his ability in a way that makes it, you know,
that belittles it.

Speaker 6 (11:15):
Right, we're not trying to do that with you.

Speaker 3 (11:17):
Is because he's a little bit fantastic.

Speaker 1 (11:19):
But he's probably heard comments or read comments in reaction
to this that have done just that, you know what
I mean, that have made it like and it's probably
like he's probably taken some shots that he didn't need
to take, you know, because you know he's.

Speaker 3 (11:44):
Not He's just not shot.

Speaker 5 (11:46):
Rob shocks not and Shack was unstoppable Chris those three
championships they wanted to row. Nobody could do anything with Shock.
I mean, that was as dominant.

Speaker 6 (11:57):
As you could be. It was like out of the
way or be posterized Chris like it was.

Speaker 3 (12:03):
Ridiculous, no doubt, no doubt.

Speaker 6 (12:05):
The only person who stop was miss free throws. That
was it.

Speaker 3 (12:11):
Yeah, nah, no doubt, no doubt.

Speaker 1 (12:13):
And so you know, if KD, I mean you make
a statement like that, whatever I did, I'll throw you know,
people would like and you know this Rob so also.

Speaker 3 (12:25):
See him win a championship outside of Golden State.

Speaker 5 (12:28):
Yeah, and you know what, going to Brooklyn and trying
to make that happen, Chris.

Speaker 6 (12:32):
That was admirable.

Speaker 1 (12:33):
Yes, I remember feeling like, man, I'm I'm with KD
trying to go.

Speaker 6 (12:38):
Some me too.

Speaker 5 (12:38):
That was admirable to be like, I'm gonna try to
do this on my own, go do something else, blah
blah blah blah blah.

Speaker 6 (12:44):
But it didn't work.

Speaker 4 (12:46):
Nah.

Speaker 1 (12:46):
And and maybe it would have. You know, you and
I both believed it had they stayed healthy. It I mean,
we feel like it would have worked, but it just didn't.
Injuries and you know, the vaccine, you know, Kyrie wouldn't
get the vaccination, all of that stuff. Then then God
start demanding trades. But if he I mean, look, leading

(13:09):
Phoenix to the championship wouldn't put him in the gold
conversation either, but it would be more people, Rob, would
you know. I mean, it would definitely enhance his legacy.
That's really what people want to see. And a lot
of people do feel that way. Rob that hey not
you know, like you said he didn't ride the bus.

(13:31):
I mean he was great in Golden State.

Speaker 6 (13:34):
Finals MVPs two years in a row.

Speaker 1 (13:36):
So that was a team that proved it that they
could win it without him. And in anything, Rob, you
you want to feel needed, right, and them winning it
without him, and when both before he got there and
after he got there, you know that that takes a

(13:56):
little chip out of.

Speaker 3 (13:57):
You winning it there.

Speaker 1 (13:59):
And so he went out and won some championships with Phoenix,
which I don't think is gonna happen, but if he.

Speaker 3 (14:05):
Did that, he could get in it.

Speaker 1 (14:06):
But you know, KD, look, don't feel bad because people
don't put you in the gold conversation because you are
a tremendous player and all time great. But there's three
guys really in that gol conversation pretty much.

Speaker 3 (14:24):
It three guys, and you ain't one of them.

Speaker 1 (14:28):
All right, eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight

thoughts on KD? Should he be in the goat conversation?

Speaker 3 (16:07):
Is he in the goat conversation? Your thoughts?

Speaker 6 (16:12):
All right? We got anybody?

Speaker 3 (16:18):
All right?

Speaker 1 (16:19):
So no one called to talk about KD in the
Goat convers.

Speaker 5 (16:23):
I think most people, Chris, And I'm not mad at
people who didn't chime in. I just can't see where
anybody could really make a case for KD. Do you
know what I mean? Like like it's it's no disrespect,
but what case are you making? Like like to Lebron James,
say you you're a Lebron James guy.

Speaker 6 (16:44):
He's the all time leading scorer.

Speaker 5 (16:46):
Okay, you know what I mean, jevity, Michael Jordan's six
for six won all six MVPs.

Speaker 6 (16:53):
People always talk about that, like you judge about winning
jeffiy jiu jojo one seven and okay, right, no, right,
And then Jordan didn't start when it is Scottie Pippen.

Speaker 5 (17:06):
Came and I say all the time, well how many
m vps did Scottie Pippen win during those rings? Chris,
Because it wasn't just that it was automatically Lebron James's correct,
I mean Michael Jordan's anybody could have won it.

Speaker 3 (17:20):
Right, right?

Speaker 6 (17:22):
Right?

Speaker 8 (17:23):
No?

Speaker 3 (17:23):
I mean no, like people.

Speaker 6 (17:26):
Always leave that out.

Speaker 5 (17:27):
I'm not saying that Scotty wasn't a big part of it,
But it would be different if if Michael won six,
Scotty won two m vps.

Speaker 6 (17:35):
And he won four. Wouldn't it be different, Chris if
that was the case.

Speaker 3 (17:39):
Uh yeah, I guess I'm.

Speaker 6 (17:42):
Just saying the way you would look at somebody six.

Speaker 3 (17:44):
For second, I don't put as much weight in the
final MVP. But but yeah, I hear you. I mean,
and I'm just.

Speaker 6 (17:50):
Saying, when you want them all is my point.

Speaker 1 (17:52):
That's all that's But yeah, No, there's again nothing against
kd is. There's no way to argue he does it
like there's nothing he was the best at or having
most of or you know what I mean, you know
has a ton of you know, Dre is.

Speaker 6 (18:09):
A basketball head in Massachusetts. He had to jump in
on this. All right, Andre, you're on the odd couple
of Fox Sports Rader.

Speaker 9 (18:15):
What you got, Yeah, listen, Kevin Durant, he is in
the all time conversation, you know, in terms of being
the most sensitive on social media when it comes to
firing back on that one person that you know that
you get ten thousand likes and you get four people
that don't like you know what I mean, and going
ahead and going to war with them. But in terms
of the all time conversation, Kevin, all right, listen, as

(18:38):
Charles Barkley said, you had never driven the bus. Okay,
you've been on the bus, all right, but you've never
been the bus driver, so therefore I cannot put you
in never mind, Michael Jordan's Lebron James a championship when
he went back to Cleveland. Yes, apart from d Wade
and Chris Bosh. Now they did get some help, you

(18:58):
know with the suspension is great on Green, but that
game seven down the stretch block and a goodalas shot,
we saw Lebron kind of take the you know, win
that championship on his own, the bubble championship, I count.
I don't have an asterisk. So with Durant, that's what
you know, He's never He's always going to be in
a Scottie Pipping uh level as far as I'm concerned.
Uh they better than Scott yees better?

Speaker 6 (19:19):
Yeah, Scott definitely better than Scotty.

Speaker 9 (19:22):
He's better than Scotty. But but he's had never that
that lead that alpha to go ahead and get it
and so he's a lot like you know, you got
to be in that Patrick Ewing, you got to be
in that Karl Malone, you know, uh kind of level.
You got to be in that Charles Barkley of a
dominant individual player that we never unfortunately got a chance

(19:44):
to see take go where Elijahuan went when Jordan was
in retirement. That's why Elijawan kind of separated himself, you know,
is that he won those two backs back and you
bought him just be dominant.

Speaker 1 (19:56):
That that totally changed. I mean a key was going
to be an all time great player. But winning those
two rings even though Michael Jordan wasn't in the league.

Speaker 3 (20:07):
I mean the second when he kind of was right,
he came back played.

Speaker 1 (20:10):
Like ah that was that didn't Yeah, but that rob
that totally changed.

Speaker 3 (20:17):
Elijah wons legacy, Oh, no doubt about it. Totally.

Speaker 1 (20:20):
And I've got Robed among small forwards, I've got Durant fourth,
I've got Lebron first, Larry Birds second, Doctor j third,
and then Kevin Durant.

Speaker 6 (20:35):
I'm not mad at that list. I'm not mad at all.
We got two other people want to jump in real
quick on this.

Speaker 5 (20:40):
Yeah, finally marked from Sacramento NBA insider Marked from Sacramento.

Speaker 6 (20:47):
You're under the couple of Fox for trading. What's up, Mark?

Speaker 3 (20:51):
Yeah? I know, Mark, Just to jump in here.

Speaker 8 (20:53):
Yeah, just a fan guy, just a fan. I think
the social media age with this like thing, has given
these guys this inflated ego to the point they think
they're way more important than what they are. The like
thing and the skilled thing. I think he thinks like that.
They like me, so I got to be one of
the greatest and they want their flowers now they can't wait.

(21:17):
That's a part of this thing too, how come not me?
I think that fits in this thing. So I think
a lot of that. And they don't know the history
of the game. They don't know the history of the game.

Speaker 6 (21:26):
Well that Chris and I talk about it all the time.
I mean we.

Speaker 5 (21:31):
Talk about they were playing and a lot of them
don't know, right, which is fine.

Speaker 1 (21:36):
And I also think Rob a lot of today some
will admit it, some won't.

Speaker 3 (21:42):
A lot of today's players think they're.

Speaker 1 (21:45):
Way better than the guys back in the day.

Speaker 5 (21:49):
They really do, and and they don't know about how
they play.

Speaker 6 (21:53):
Chris and the conditions.

Speaker 5 (21:55):
We talk about it all the time, the rule changes
that have made it easier for them to do what
they do. I mean, they just cannot. If you go
watch Michael Jordan play against the Pistons and tell me
you gotta eat you're better, or you know you have
a tough road to score points in the NBA, you're
not watching the right video.

Speaker 1 (22:17):
Well, Rob and you know this because I've talked about
it on the show. One of the things and obviously
he's still an all time great and fantastic, but one
of the things that did drop Durant slightly in my
eyes with seeing him struggle so badly against the Celtics

(22:38):
a few years ago when he was still in Brooklyn,
Like the Celtics played physical defense on him. Jason Tatum
outplayed him period, And I was like, cause, you know,
there was a feeling among a lot of people that oh,
in the eighties or the nineties, they weren't used to

(22:58):
seven foot of shoot and jump shots like that.

Speaker 3 (23:01):
So who would have stopped Kevin Durant. Well, you know
what they did do back then.

Speaker 1 (23:07):
They got physical with you, They bodied you up, and
Jason Tatum, a smaller guy, took Duran out of his game.
Duran was having trouble getting the ball of Chase that
And now I'm not saying Duran wouldn't have been great.
He would have adjusted, But this notion that he would

(23:31):
have like just been demolishing cats, No, he would have
been probably as good as he is now if that,
but not better. He wouldn't have been killing dudes because
they would have really got physical with him, and that
would have given him a little bit of trouble. And
so that that did make me, you know, have to

(23:53):
reassess uh kd again, still all time great, but yeah,
that physical play bothered because he's a.

Speaker 3 (24:00):
Slight guy physically. All Right, We.

Speaker 1 (24:04):
Got Troll in a Roll with Martin Weisse coming up next,
but first Kevin Wired with the update cav NBA Action.

Speaker 2 (24:10):
We've already seen one game go final as the Nuggets
hold off the Pacers one fourteen to one ZHO nine.
And this is a game in which the Pacers outscored
Denver in three out of the four quarters, but the
Nuggets having a twenty point advantage in that third quarter
and route to that one fourteen one h nine victory.
Nikolai Jolkiz coming alive in that second half and he

(24:30):
got himself yet another triple double thirty one points, thirteen
rebounds and ten assists. We do have a few other
games in action as we speak. The Battle of the
Big Apple sees the Brooklyn Nets in front of the
Knicks ninety seven to ninety four. They got about five
minutes ago in the fourth quarter. Michael Bridges thirty three
points for Brookland. In New Orleans, it's the Pelicans leading

(24:53):
the Jazz ninety five to eighty three. They got about
six and a half minutes ago in the third quarter. A.

Speaker 6 (24:58):
CJ.

Speaker 2 (24:59):
McCollum has two twenty four points four New Orleans and
it's starting to get a little closer now. Only a
five point lead now for the Trailblazers against the thunder
seventy three sixty eight in favor of Portland. They got
six and a half minutes ago in the third quarter.
At Shay Gilgess, Alexander has twenty points so far for
Oklahoma City and one more game on the late ten

(25:20):
night Lakers and Clippers at the Crypt, But no Lebron
James tonight for the Lakers, as that game set the
tip off around at ten o'clock Eastern time. The big
news in the NBA as the Bucks firing head coach
Adrian Griffin after he spent just forty three games on
the job. In ESPN reporting, Doc Rivers has emerged as
a serious candidate to become Milwaukee's next head coach. Cavalier

(25:45):
center Tristan Thompson suspended twenty five games after he tested
positive four peds. Earlier today, we saw the Miami Heat
make a trade with the Hornets, as the Heat getting
Terry Rogier in exchange for Kyle Lowry and he protected
twenty twenty seven first round pick. NFL news the Philadelphia
Eagles interviewing Cliff Kingsbury for their offensive coordinator position. Kingsbury,

(26:10):
currently an analyst with usc NFL Network, is saying Jim
Harbaugh met in Los Angeles today with the Chargers for
a second time and that the team made him an
extremely strong offer and that a deal very well could
be within striking distance. The Las Vegas Raiders hiring Tom
Telesco to be their next general manager after the Chargers

(26:31):
let him go from that position just a few weeks ago.
And in Major League Baseball, three new members of the
Hall of Fame Adrian Beltray, Joe Maller, Todd Helton getting
elected into the Hall of Fame today. Beltray got in
with ninety five point one percent of all ballots. Cast
Mauer got seventy six point one percent, both of them

(26:51):
making it on their first year of eligibility. This was
helt In's sixth year on the ballot. He got seventy
nine point seven percent of the votes. Billy Wagner just
five votes, shy of getting in the Hall of Fame.
This is his second to last year of eligibility. Longtime
manager Jim Leland also selected for this year's Hall of
Fame class the Contemporary Baseball Era Committee. He chose him

(27:14):
last month. Back to you guys, all right, thank.

Speaker 3 (27:17):
You, Kevy keV all right, it's the odd couple.

Speaker 1 (27:20):
Chris and Rob live from the tirereg dot Com studios,
this time for trolling and rolling with Martin Weiss.

Speaker 6 (27:30):
Tom Brady. He's done.

Speaker 3 (27:33):
Aaron Rodgers did not have a Pro Bowl season.

Speaker 6 (27:38):
It's trolling or Roland.

Speaker 8 (27:41):
That's right.

Speaker 10 (27:42):
I'm Martin White, just games.

Speaker 4 (27:44):
The first time you're here, it's on this lovely Tuesday evening.

Speaker 10 (27:47):
I'll go ahead break it down for you.

Speaker 4 (27:49):
If Robin Chris like the story that I read.

Speaker 10 (27:52):
The roll down, and if they don't go ahead.

Speaker 4 (27:57):
And troll it. So, as we've just heard on that
update from Keavy kav As, Chris Brussard says the Raiders
has solidified their future brands, retaining interim head coach Antony
was here.

Speaker 10 (28:13):
May from the official full time guy.

Speaker 4 (28:15):
And today decided to hire Tom t LESCo as a
general manager. Now to Lesco's got plenty of experience in
the ASUS as former gym of the Chargers.

Speaker 11 (28:26):
But never won the division and the last game he
was a part of the Chargers organization who was a
sixty three to twenty one undressing by the same organization
that just hired Chris Broussard.

Speaker 12 (28:40):
Trolling a rolling to Lesso a good hire for Vegas.

Speaker 3 (28:45):
I'm ana trolled it.

Speaker 1 (28:48):
I mean he did draft some good players, build a good,
you know, some talented roster, but didn't he bring in
Brandon Saley.

Speaker 3 (28:58):
Am I wrong about that?

Speaker 8 (29:00):
No? You're right?

Speaker 1 (29:01):
Yeah, yeah, I mean, now, like I said, he had
some talented players.

Speaker 3 (29:05):
It may work out, but I don't know.

Speaker 1 (29:08):
I think you make that type of mistake, You keep
it much longer than you should have.

Speaker 3 (29:14):
It's it's surprising that you just go and get another job.

Speaker 1 (29:16):
I shouldn't say surprising, But that's just a little little eye.

Speaker 3 (29:22):
I think they could have done.

Speaker 6 (29:22):
Better, Chris. I'm with you, I'm trolling it.

Speaker 5 (29:27):
That's his reward that he gets a job like five
minutes later, seriously, like the Chargers had too much talent
to be as bad if he didn't pull the trigger
on Brandon Staley Chris after they blew a twenty seven
to nothing playoff game lead. Right, Like, there's so many
glaring things there. I don't know if it was because

(29:48):
he got they got him on a discount, or they
had a coupon two for one for the coach and
a GM. I mean, I just don't know what it is.
It doesn't make any sense to me.

Speaker 4 (29:58):
No, I mean of the team that gave up sixty
three right the highlight for a minute, but no, he's
right back in the falls.

Speaker 5 (30:07):
And that was a team that probably that the debacle
cost him his gig and they go and hire him.

Speaker 6 (30:12):
Hey, yeah, Okay, that's.

Speaker 12 (30:13):
A good idea, yeah, rolling a rolling couple of Fox
Sports Radio Bill general manager Brandon Bean addressed the media today,
saying in part that he still believes that Stefan Diggs
is a number one receiver in the league.

Speaker 4 (30:28):
Now it's his fresh off gigs three catch twenty one
yard performance.

Speaker 10 (30:31):
Against the Chiefs with a crucial drop.

Speaker 4 (30:34):
To boot Jigs. Mind you, hasn't scored a touchdown since Thanksgiving,
Chris rolling and rolling Jigs is still a number one.

Speaker 1 (30:42):
Wow, that's a great question, man. I was so disappointed
in Stefan Jiggs. I know that was a tough catch
on that sixty five yarder, but Rob, that's where you
make your legend.

Speaker 6 (30:55):
You gotta catch it, and you got to catch it, right.

Speaker 1 (30:59):
Some of the greatest in the Super Bowl, Yes, especially
rib with all the talking and the histrionics that Diggs
has given us over the years, right embarrassing his quarterback
on the sidelines, complaining like it's everybody else's fault at
least that's what it looks like.

Speaker 3 (31:16):
And not his own. And then you get the chance
to make the big play and you you just drop.
You just can't come up with it.

Speaker 1 (31:24):
I'm gonna say, yes, he is still a number one.
A tiny bit of hesitation, but only tiny. I think
he just was in a funk late in the year.
But I do think he can be a number one still.

Speaker 6 (31:38):
I'm trolling that.

Speaker 5 (31:43):
Chris, I hear you on reputation, but when you don't
have a touchdown since Thanksgiving, something's wrong there.

Speaker 6 (31:53):
Something ain't no way like.

Speaker 5 (31:55):
To be that have that much talent and you not
be in the mix. And remember the team was winning
when you were, when they weren't throwing you the ball.
That Yeah, I think that's an indictment of him.

Speaker 3 (32:07):
Literally, it's hard to argue with that.

Speaker 10 (32:10):
Un he's just rolling.

Speaker 4 (32:12):
Odd couple Fox Sports Radio now reports from Pro Football
Talk that say wild teams are interested in former Patriot
head coach Bill Belichick. He's not interested in some team specifically,
he's not reportedly reportedly, he's not interested in teams in
major media markets.

Speaker 10 (32:32):
Saying he's uninterested in those markets because there will be
kind of reporters trying to develop sources around the organization.
Belichick obstantively a concern with leaks in whatever organization he joined.
Christmas aard rolling and rolling.

Speaker 4 (32:50):
Belichick being concerned about the media attention he'd bring to
a new team.

Speaker 1 (32:55):
Oh many, is this nice team?

Speaker 3 (33:00):
Ninety six?

Speaker 6 (33:01):
Just ridiculous?

Speaker 1 (33:02):
I mean whatever, I don't care if he who's the
smallest market, but go to Jacksonville. Jacksonville jack if he
goes to Jacksonville. First of all, you're Bill Belichick. Secondly,
the national media. You don't think Adam Schefter and Ian
Rappaport and Seth Wickersham are gonna be trying to you

(33:26):
already have sources all throughout the league. This is rop
it's national media. Now, It's not just those local beat writers.
It will be the national media covering you, and they
will Seth Wickersham is national. He wrote some of those
huge stories about all the things going on with the.

Speaker 5 (33:48):
Patriots exactly, and he won in Boston like like he
knows people, you know what I mean, anyone covering the
team on a daily basis.

Speaker 3 (33:55):
Yeah, he's Belichick. And then you shouldn't be concerned.

Speaker 6 (34:00):
Yeah I'm trolling it.

Speaker 5 (34:04):
Oh Man, to be worried about that stuff about leagues
and all that and who you're that stuff's gonna happen, Like, really,
there is no way, Chris.

Speaker 6 (34:15):
I don't care where you are. You do not know.

Speaker 5 (34:19):
Who is there, who knows who? It's just it's impossible.
I mean, you can do stuff because I've seen people
get trapped where they get put out phony information. Chris,
to see where it comes to only one person. You
know what I mean, they've done it.

Speaker 3 (34:36):
You remember that in Detroit and the Sad Story.

Speaker 5 (34:39):
Yep, that that's exactly Chris what I was thinking about.

Speaker 6 (34:43):
Sad story.

Speaker 5 (34:43):
But they give somebody false information and then they it
appears somewhere and they know exactly where it came from
because the story was false. But only one person knew
about it. So you can weed out people.

Speaker 3 (34:57):
Yep.

Speaker 6 (34:58):
Yeah, all right, Martin, thank you my man job Martin.

Speaker 1 (35:01):

The Baseball Hall of Fame.

Speaker 3 (36:20):
Has some new players and Adrian Beltrait. Yep, Joe Mauer
and Todd Helton. What a class.

Speaker 5 (36:32):
Only one guy I voted for, and that's Adrian Beltrait.

Speaker 6 (36:37):
Chris.

Speaker 5 (36:37):
He was a no brainer, had great over thirty one
hundred hits right, four hundred seventy five home like his
numbers and stats were through the roof, and that's why
he got ninety five or six percent of you know
what I mean to vote, So there was no question
about Adrian Beltra. I should say Joe Mauer is a

(37:03):
catcher and Chris is not supposed to be based on
like your numbers for a position. It's just supposed to
be just where you rank, you know what I mean,
Like on the heads, it ain't it ain't about that.
Oh well, either catchers or number that Chris. Here's some
of the issues I have with Joe Mauer. And you
gotta take a look at somebody's complete career, not just

(37:26):
the good years, you know what I mean, Like, oh,
it's first eight years, we're incredible. Well, can we talk
about the last eight years? Give me right, Chris. When
they moved from the Homer Dome to target Field outside
his home runs from twenty ten on the last eight

(37:50):
years Ready, the first year they moved into target Field, Chris,
he hit nine total home runs on the season twenty ten,
Go look it up, one at home and eight on
the road. The next Chris eight years, seven eight years,
eight years, he had over twenty four hundred plate appearances,

(38:12):
which roughly is four major league seasons. He hit only
thirty two home runs Chris eight home that's eight home
runs a year. At target Field, he.

Speaker 6 (38:25):
Was basically turned into a singles hitter playing.

Speaker 5 (38:29):
First base, which is you know, as a power, big
numbers home run position, he's getting singles.

Speaker 6 (38:36):
So so Joe Mauer, I did not vote.

Speaker 1 (38:39):
For I mean, he really even ribbed. I mean, at
his best, he wasn't a big power hitter, Chris.

Speaker 6 (38:45):
Look at his home runs.

Speaker 1 (38:47):
He had over twenty home runs once Chris, he did
get faveraged, and I think that's your point, is.

Speaker 6 (38:53):
That to hit he hit three h six, No, he
hit to hit for it.

Speaker 3 (38:57):
But he was a single right.

Speaker 1 (38:58):
As a catcher, know that, Like you said, that's what
a lot of people.

Speaker 3 (39:02):
Not many catchers hit three on six, well, Chris.

Speaker 5 (39:05):
And here's the other thing too, less than a thousand RBIs. Yeah, okay,
he averaged sixty one RBIs. Guess what Darryl Strawberry had
more RBIs than in his career. I'm just trying to
like when you look at the RBIs, aren't there he
had less than two hundred home runs for his career, right, well,

(39:28):
he had one hundred and fifty.

Speaker 3 (39:31):
He had no, he had one hundred and forty three.

Speaker 5 (39:33):
Okay, I mean, I mean the numbers just don't add up.
And the other one Todd Helton, Chris, here's the problem
with Todd Helton. Unbelievable hitter in the altitude right. His
numbers in Denver were off the charts. Three forty five

(39:53):
lifetime batting average Chris, two hundred and twenty seven home
runs at home and an ops of almost two hundred
points higher at home. You ready for the road to
eighty seven and one hundred and forty two home runs.
That that's a huge difference. Remember, you play eighty one
games on the road at eighty one games at home.

(40:14):
It ain't like you play more games. That's why his
numbers are better. He played better in the ball in
the ballpark where.

Speaker 6 (40:21):
The altar wall too.

Speaker 5 (40:24):
Yeah, and the same thing with Walker, like those are
those are manufactured Hall of famers based on playing in
that altitude. I'm sorry neither one got my vote. I
voted for Gary Sheffield, who had five hundred to nine
career home runs.

Speaker 6 (40:38):
Chris.

Speaker 5 (40:40):
I saw a stat the only player ready to hit
over five hundred home runs who never had more than
ninety strikeouts in the season. The dude didn't strike out,
He won't swinging for defenses, right, and he had in
his career he had more walks than strikeouts for power hitter.

Speaker 6 (40:58):
And we got the juice thing and the whole thing.

Speaker 5 (41:01):
But the only thing I say about that he was
never defended in that Balco trial course. He was a
witness about Barry Bonds. He was never on trial, never
got suspended by baseball.

Speaker 6 (41:12):
That's it.

Speaker 3 (41:13):
That's I know.

Speaker 1 (41:14):
It's a rough day for you, man, because you can't
say a dang word about the NBA or the Basketball Hall.

Speaker 6 (41:21):
I'm done. I can't. Y'all got rolling last year and now.

Speaker 3 (41:25):
Two more this year.

Speaker 1 (41:28):
All right, it is the hard couple. We are out
of here. But Jason Smith and Mike harmon their next
so you.

Speaker 6 (41:34):
Know what to do.

Speaker 1 (41:34):
Keep it locked, because those brothers they bring fire.
