I think I was the first. Maybe not, but I
think I was the first to call him Luca Legend
off Larry Legend. I've said he's a new age version
of Larry Bird. Yogic is really more like Larry Bird
seven foot version of Larry Bird. But Rob, I completely

Luca's who can do some things on there on that Kyrie's,

He's only played six years and three of those he

NBA history. And Luka Doncic has got to look in
the mirror and say, Okay, what can I do differently?

And what he can do differently is play in a
way that incorporates the rest of his team, not just
him dribbling and kicking out to you for an open
three pointer, him dribbling and taking a shot, him dribbling,
driving and then drawing the double team and throwing it
to you up at the rim and you dunk it,

no other guys really touching the ball. And Rob we
have not seen a one man's show as great as
these players are. Michael never wanted as a one man show.
Lebron never wanted as a one man show.

Will Oscar they never wanted as one man shows. James
Hardens James Hard He's not on their level, but he's
a Hall of Famer and yes, never wanted as a
one man show. Kobe was a one man show with

other guys involved, letting him touch the ball, and that's
what happened.

To that point where we always talk about there's a
honeymoon period, right, you get those first several years where
you know, we don't really expect you to win. We
just amazed that you. You are a superstar. You have
established yourself as that guy. But what if you don't
win at a certain point, even get close to winning,
Now we're gonna start docking you.

And that's what happens.

And Luca's getting close to that point where it's like, dude,
the numbers are nice, the numbers are lovely, but if
you're not gonna win a lot of guys can put
up numbers in a bad situation and be on a
bad team.

It's about it's still the bottom line is about winning
and if you need to pull back Chris some to
get other people involved and become better at when And
I know they went to the Western Conference finals a

So, but in that year, Rob, that's a prime example.
Rick Jalen Brunson was the second leading scorer. I don't
know if you know if he was second, but he was.
He averaged sixteen points on that team. Did anybody have
an an inkling no, that he could do what he's doing.

That's a that's a great point because he played with
Luca and you couldn't see that totally like up like
when he went to the Knicks and what he's been
able to do. Come on, most people are like really.

Right, they're like shocked because we never saw it with
Luke and the best like the best teams, Rob the
Showtime Lakers. Magic was able to be the best best
version of himself.

So was Kareem So was worthy.

The Bulls with Jordans, Jordan was able to be the
best version of himself. So was Pipping, so was a
Dennis Robmin Shaq and Kobe, for all their beef, Shaq
was able to be the best version of himself, and

Denver, Aaron Gordon, don't have to hold back KCP and
Michael Porter Jume. You can play their game because jokis
as much as he may have the ball, you know,
over dribble, dribble to air out the ball, he's moving
that thing. And I love Luke. I want Luca to win.

I agree with Jason kind and he's better than Dirk,
but but he gonna have to do it a little differently.
Their only thing they could do rob and I don't
think this would necessarily work. But Alan Iverson was like
this different a little different style, obviously very different type
of player, but he wasn't like the playmaker and passer

that Luca was or is. But Iverson was similar in
that he was so balled dominant, had to shoot all
the time.

Get me a bunch of grinders, spot up shooters, defenders
don't mind doing the dirty work, don't mind Allen taking
thirty shots at night.

I mean, it didn't get him a championship, but it
got him far. And that's kind of what they may
need to do with Luca. But even that, Rob, I
don't think it's gonna win a championship like Luca's going
to have to Like, I just think this style of
play and look, some of this is on kid. And
I've talked to some people and feel like they like,
that's how Lucas plays.

If you're trying to win, you just can't say because

on why they would need to take a look at
it and say, why didn't we see this here?

But when one guy does it all, it's tough on
the rest of the players, especially if the other players.

Like we brought up the iverson Philadelphia example, those guys
weren't really skilled.

They could catch and shoot, they could defend, they could rebound,
that was about it.

They weren't really They weren't guys that could create their
own shot, and you know, wanted to get twenty shots
tonight because they know they could get twenty five points
on that. But when you've got guys that can do
those things, it's gonna be tough. And then rob the
top to put a cap on it or a bowl
around it, then that guy's not playing defense.

Right. That's the other bad part, right right.

Right at least when Lebron was ball dominant. But Lebron
would play defense, great defense at during his prime, and
that makes up for it. And that's why I think
one reason Lebron could get further by being ball dominant
than Luca's been able to get. But you know, I

think he's gotta They gotta talk to him. Jason Kidd
as much cloud as anybody in this league. Got to
sit down and talk with him and they start working.
Now He's not gonna be running off picks and screens
and stuff, but we gotta try to get you know,
not be as predictable and my earn your turn with

to go to a team or a coach similar to

Ruey Hotcha Mura, Jared Vanderbilt, something like that, or get
a defender in vander Build. I get a guy who
can shoot and tries to defend in Reeves and Ruey

on them to make the playoffs. And obviously who knows
what he would have played like had he not gotten hurt.
But now Robbie's two years removed from playing great football,
and he's forty and will be forty one before.

NBA history. And Luka Doncic has got to look in
the mirror and say, Okay, what can I do differently?

way that incorporates the rest of his team, not just
him dribbling and kicking out to you for an open
three pointer, him dribbling and taking a shot, him dribbling,
driving and then drawing the double team and throwing it
to you up at the rim and you dunk it,

no other guys really touching the ball. And Rob we
have not seen a one man's show as great as
these players are. Michael never wanted as a one man show.
Lebron never wanted as a one man show.

Will Oscar they never wanted as one man shows. James
Hardens James Hard He's not on their level, but he's
a Hall of Famer and yes, never wanted as a
one man show. Kobe was a one man show with
the Schmusch Parkers of the world.

To that point where we always talk about there's a
honeymoon period, right, you get those first several years where
you know, we don't really expect you to win. We
just amazed that you. You are a superstar. You have
established yourself as that guy. But what if you don't
win at a certain point, even get close to winning,
Now we're gonna start docking you.

And that's what happens.

And Luca's getting close to that point where it's like, dude,
the numbers are nice, the numbers are lovely, but if
you're not gonna win a lot of guys can put
up numbers in a bad situation and be on a

It's about it's still the bottom line is about winning
and if you need to pull back Chris some to
get other people involved and become better at when And

Rick Jalen Brunson was the second leading scorer. I don't
know if you know if he was second, but he was.
He averaged sixteen points on that team. Did anybody have
an an inkling no, that he could do what he's doing.

Luca and you couldn't see that totally like up like
when he went to the Knicks and what he's been
able to do. Come on, most people are like really.

Right, they're like shocked because we never saw it with
Luke and the best like the best teams, Rob the
Showtime Lakers. Magic was able to be the best best
version of himself.

So was Kareem So was worthy.

The Bulls with Jordans, Jordan was able to be the
best version of himself. So was Pipping, so was a
Dennis Robmin Shaq and Kobe, for all their beef, Shaq

Their only thing they could do rob and I don't

that he was so balled dominant, had to shoot all
the time.

How can I be my best with my diet today,
with my fluid and take you know, just everything down
to a tee to try and get better. And I
got back on the practice field late in the season,

but really been in a good place three wise from

more years, but you need to have some good fortune

Play till he was fifty five or forty five, whatever
it was. So that's natural and not maybe.

And the only way I could see Tyson's fighting.
Speaker 5 (35:15):
Mike Tyson's at fifty eight is fighting exactly.

There you go. I'm glad you brought that up.

But the one thing I guess is I guess by
saying that, that takes off a little bit of the
pressure and the conversation about this being his last season?
Speaker 3 (35:31):
Do you know what I mean?
Speaker 5 (35:32):
Like, because then then the whole talk will be is
this is one song? Is this the last time? Aaron Rodgers?
Speaker 3 (35:38):
You know what I mean? Like like like that's a positive? Right?
Would you agree with that? Like like that? Because that's me.
Speaker 1 (35:45):
He doesn't need Now you can argue you don't need
to talk about playing long I mean, you can say
it in a way that's not.
Speaker 4 (35:51):
Two, three, four years, but you get them. But you're right.
If he comes out and says, hey, this is it,
I mean.
Speaker 3 (35:57):
We we then it becomes the storyline.
Speaker 1 (36:00):
Last year, we're gonna go for it. This year we
got one shot. Yes, that's a great point.
Speaker 4 (36:04):
That's great.

That's the only way I see this as productive or positive.
I doubt that he plays three or four years. I
just can't see it.
Speaker 1 (36:13):
I think what's more realistic, rob is that this is
his last season, that he goes out is okay, not great. Okay,
maybe they have a decent season but missed the playoffs
and then he hangs it up. I think that's the
(36:33):
most realistic scenario. Now, last year I gave him a shot.
Last year, I said, you know what, I'm a better
on them to make the playoffs. And obviously who knows
what he would have played like had he not gotten hurt.
But now Robbie's two years removed from playing great football,
and he's forty and will be forty one before.
Speaker 4 (36:54):
The season's over.
Speaker 1 (36:55):
I mean, he's in a new I know he's gotten
that Hackett, so he'll be you know, and dictate the system.
But I just think, Rob, why would we think It's
not like the last year we saw him play, he
was great.
Speaker 3 (37:12):
In fact, the Packers were better this year without.
Speaker 1 (37:15):
Him, And so why what what reason? Other than we
get it. He he's an all time great. But now
at forty, why would we think he's gonna come out
and have some tremendous year and then, as you said.
Speaker 4 (37:29):
Be able to play three or four years.
Speaker 5 (37:31):
Well that's the part. I don't know about the comeback
and whether or not. I just remember he was buried
a few years ago too, me and Bucky Brooks young,
I know, but he still was buried. Bucky brook said
he was finished. He couldn't play one back to back MVPs.
I mean, I'm I'm not saying I think that was
the two different things.
Speaker 4 (37:50):
He was okay, but break got a new coach.
Speaker 3 (37:52):
But that's what.
Speaker 5 (37:53):
But I'm just saying Bucky Brooks was wrong about that.
I put it on Buckie because he was way wrong.
Speaker 3 (37:58):
You've been wrong too. He was way long when Bucket
said Tom Brady was done in twenty twelve. When we
bring that up every week, yep, you do. And when
Bucky Brooks has his own radio show. He can bring
it up. How's that? But this is our radio show, so.
Speaker 5 (38:14):
I get to bring it up. And that's my point
that he's on. You got to answer, well, we're not
having Bucky on.
Speaker 4 (38:20):
You run and not ask questions.
Speaker 3 (38:22):
What are you talking about? Lost Bucky's number, rob g
lost his number. I had nothing to do.
Speaker 4 (38:26):
I got his number.
Speaker 3 (38:29):
Fact, let me call. But you don't mean no, I
have nothing.
Speaker 5 (38:33):
But I mean I'm not saying he's coming back to
win an MVP, Chris. But their quarterback play doesn't need
to be spectacular. If the defense is good, it just
needs to be good, not spectacular. Would you agree with that?
The quarterback.
Speaker 1 (38:52):
He doesn't have to be he needs to be good.
Speaker 3 (38:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (38:56):
But the AFC, I mean depends on what what the
goal is. If the goal is super Bowl, he's gotta
be great. They're not getting in the AFC. They're not
getting through the AFC without him playing great. I don't know,
maybe maybe make I mean Kansas City with defense, I
mean defense is the biggest Patrick Mahomes, I mean that.
Speaker 5 (39:16):
Buffalo's cleaning house, Rogers, Buffalo's cleaning house.
Speaker 3 (39:20):
There's a there's an opening there. If he's decent, really Yeah.
Speaker 1 (39:24):
I don't think so, because Buffalo hadn't clean the house
on that offense, and their defense last year with all
those injuries, was still top five in the league. So
I think Buffalo is still gonna be there. Miami will
be around, obviously. The FC North Chargers now are gonna
be good.
Speaker 5 (39:40):
Like I called it, I told you they were gonna
be the Mets, didn't I tell you that before the
season started.
Speaker 3 (39:45):
I told you you all over the place. I know
I was right, though I was right. He's gonna be great.
They gonna be He's gonna be great. I did say that,
