Right after we get off the here, don't forget. Coming
(01:07):
up at about twenty eight minutes, Lamar Mitchell from bet MG.
I'm the director of Trading. We'll get into the super Bowl.
What's going on out in Vegas, what the odds are
and the things, the prop bets, all that stuff, plus
last call if you didn't get a chance to get in.
And also NFL pig skin pickoff. We make our picks.
(01:27):
I think you know what.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
Heck, we tie all the way to this. Are we tied? Yes,
comes down to it.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
We literally tie time game this time, man, this is
we do know we're on the opposite so somebody but we'll.
Speaker 2 (01:40):
Get more into that.
Speaker 4 (01:42):
So we got a really good hour to wrap up
things here in New Orleans. What a great time it's been.
You know, I've been to a lot of super Bowls.
I told you before. I don't know the exact number,
but I was here twenty two years ago in two
thousand and three for that Super Bowl. So just imagine
I was there for that.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
That was the Patriots, uh winning the super Bowl. Now
it wasn't.
Speaker 4 (02:10):
MS, So I covered that. That was the greatest show
on turf, right, getting like sixteen points or whatever it
was they lost in that Super Bowl. But now we
talked about it. I think we mentioned it. That's eleven
super Bowls for New Orleans, right, tis yeah, yes, is
the most. Miami, Miami for the most and it's a
(02:31):
great super Bowl town. I really I really enjoyed being here.
It's a different spot, it's off the beaten path. You
got to kind of come here.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
Yep, right, yep. And a foods manet, magnificent people.
Speaker 1 (02:44):
It's just they know, they know how to do this stuff.
Like literally, they're getting shutting this thing down. Super Bowl
to be over Sunday night, and they're getting ready for Martie.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
Gras here in a couple a couple of weeks.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
So they know how to host big events for it
to be a smaller, major city.
Speaker 2 (02:58):
So so let's go here.
Speaker 4 (02:59):
The final topic, big topic for the show as we
look at the super Bowl forty eight hours away, and
you know, the talk is Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs.
Obviously they're trying to three Pete in the super Bowl era,
the first time anybody in this era has been able
to do that has been done before. And then the
(03:20):
Patrick Mahomes, if he wins three in a row, he'll
have four, right.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
Yeap out of what six trips to the super Bowl.
Speaker 4 (03:27):
So there's all this other stuff that's there, and then
the big thing is you know where he fits in
and see the goat and the goat conversation and all
that kind of stuff. So earlier this week, Patrick Mahomes
was asked about that whole goat conversation, and here he is.
Speaker 5 (03:42):
I'm trying to be the greatest Patrick Mahomes that I
can be. I mean, that's obviously a goal of anyone's
is gonna be the greatest of their profession. But in
order to do that, you think the greatest that you
can be every single day, and if that's on the
field and not the work ethic got put in or
off the field, and the father and then the husband,
and I am I'm gonna try to be the greatest
in that way. And whenever I'm done with football, and
I thought leave everything out there the way that I
(04:02):
feel like I have so far as far as effort
and mentality, I'll be happy with the results and I'll
let others talk about who the greatest is of whatever
profession that is.
Speaker 4 (04:11):
You know what, I'll say this, I respect Patrick Mahomes
from this STEMP. It's not for him to decide. And
that's why I've always had to push back with Lebron.
We're sitting there in the barbershop and talking about oh yeah,
when we came back through the one. That's when I
knew I was the goat. That really, for you to
be thinking that is weird to me. I'm dead serious.
(04:32):
Like that's for others, for sports writers, for fans. Sure,
you want to be in a conversation people think, oh,
I watched the greatest quarterback whoever played in the National
Football League.
Speaker 2 (04:40):
That's an honor and that's not something you gun for.
Speaker 4 (04:43):
You talk about, Yeah, I want to be No, you
want to be the best player you can be. Do
as much as you can, lay it out on the table, right,
And then you come out and people say, man, we
were lucky to watch that guy play.
Speaker 1 (04:56):
Yeah, well, shoot, I think that's why people are already
some already consider him to go. Some say he's on
the road the path two beings.
Speaker 4 (05:04):
I don't know how anybody can say that, to be honest.
Let's walk through that.
Speaker 1 (05:09):
So the difference of why people are okay doing that,
And let's take Tom Brady. I know, Joe Montanna for you,
but let's just for take these two. For this example,
Tom Brady did a lot of this without style points.
He did a lot of this dinking and dunky. He
did a lot of this without you know, we knew
(05:29):
he was never gonna run. He had you know, quick dropbacks.
Patrick Mahomes. From the minute he got started, we were like, oh,
that's different. And Patrick Mahomes has kind of taken the
best of the talent of Aaron Rodgers. Where we all
are looking at arm talent, look at mobility, can run,
look at his you know, throwing arms sideways, all types
of crazy passes, no look passes like he's on a
(05:49):
basketball court. But also he has the accolades that Aaron
Rodgers doesn't have of a Tom Brady.
Speaker 2 (05:55):
And you mentioned some of them.
Speaker 1 (05:56):
Already robbed two time MVP, six times Bowl, two time
off Pro, three times Super Bowl champ, could be four
here in just a moment, already three time ify super
Bowl MVP, I mean obviously Player of the Year from
all these different writers awards. It's just crazy what he's
done already. And the man ain't even thirty. And if
you look at some of the peers of the Aaron
(06:17):
Rodgers and the Tom Brady's, and he may play to
be thirty eight to forty one, forty two, which means
it could get scary. His war chest, you know, in
all the accolades when this is all said and done
that so I'm mixing the stat accolades, super Bowl wins,
all the MVPs with the style point. He looks different
than Tom.
Speaker 4 (06:36):
He hasn't made, but he hasn't had the style points
of late and that and that's where I disagree with you.
I agree when he first burst on a scene, but
we haven't seen that quarterback.
Speaker 2 (06:46):
We he has, but we saw enough even so far.
Speaker 4 (06:49):
But I'm just saying, and we haven't seen a certain
The first one was like oh my god.
Speaker 2 (06:54):
Right, it was like yo, what is this? Right? And
and it's funny because we haven't seen that.
Speaker 4 (06:59):
He hasn't nearly been as good or prolific, and we've
seen a lot of bad Patrick Mahomes of late, and
yet they still have won. But that's the part where
you look at him and go, you know, how is
this going to end? What happens when Andy retires? What
happens if they take away more pieces from him? Will
he go as last eight or nine years with winning?
(07:21):
Will we feel the same? You know, we always talking
about recency bias, what's happened lately? And we talked about
John Elway. What made John Elway a different view in
people's eyes is the way he finished with the way
he finished, not the way he started where he couldn't
win a super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (07:38):
So I don't know.
Speaker 4 (07:40):
I just don't know how you could look at him
right here today and say he's the goat.
Speaker 2 (07:46):
I don't think.
Speaker 1 (07:47):
I just I think that's weather and they're forecasting, but
they're saying.
Speaker 2 (07:54):
Well, they still say he's the goat if I'm asking.
Speaker 1 (07:56):
So, I think he has literally done enough to be
in the if loses, But that's do the opposite. Let's
say he wins. I want to say it loses, and
we know you do. But let's i's like Jared Goff
through three in or seven, right, and just like I'm
gonna say he wins, and that's four right. So now
he retires with four and let's say for that he
(08:16):
just literally walked away, like I just what I would
have been my family, I've loved, you know, I'm.
Speaker 2 (08:20):
Done to have four already to have.
Speaker 1 (08:23):
And let's say maybe he wins MVP that before Super
Bowl MVPs and the eye tests of what you saw,
I can see why he would be considered that because.
Speaker 2 (08:35):
Titles.
Speaker 4 (08:35):
I don't think I don't think that that would supersede
for people what Tom Brady has done. And I don't
think he's the goat, but that tom Brady people would
not allow you to say, because Tom Brady had two
different careers and what made his different and separated him
And you know, I'm not defecting.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
You're not Tom Brady.
Speaker 4 (08:56):
But he one ones with the Patriots and then left,
and then one another one with another team. Patrick came
to a team that was already winning. I'm not taking
anything away from him. They couldn't get over the hum
but they were already winning going to the playoffs with
Alex Smith, and we already know what Andy Weid did
with Donovan McNabb and every quarterback who's ever played for him,
(09:17):
and Patrick Mahomes finally was that guy to push through
and take Andy Weid there. I think there's a different
conversation about him if they don't win.
Speaker 1 (09:26):
Well, but because they would only be at three, I'm
saying if he wins, it is ridiculous. What he's done
is such a small amount of time. How that do
you come into the league and all you have is
four rings, if possibly four Super Bowl MVPs already and
you ain't even thirty yet. That's literally insane that run.
They would have been in the first team of three
(09:46):
pt in the Super Bowl era. Tom ain't do that,
Joe Montana ain't do that. John Elway didn't do that,
and he would have that also to say I did that.
So I think for me personally, if he wins, if
he gets the five, I've seen enough. He didn't have
to a seve, he don't have to superseed break, and
he gets five, it's already almost have done this.
Speaker 2 (10:05):
I think.
Speaker 4 (10:06):
I think that's because you're in this era. You believe
that Lebron with the most losses in the finals, you
think he's the MVP just by going, even though he
doesn't have as many as Michael No. No, I'm just
saying they're young guys like you, younger who believe in that,
and you're already like, oh, well, Lebron, he's played for
twenty five years and he got all these points. And
(10:28):
but but people have watched both like me, I don't
think that.
Speaker 1 (10:31):
So why can't let me say why isn't he to go?
If he to my point, if he wins five, because
I don't do the you have to have X amount
of rings, because then Robert Rriy or Bill Russell are
the best.
Speaker 4 (10:42):
Because no, no, Robert Rory never let a team shut
out that many all start.
Speaker 2 (10:46):
Now, Robert Orry, you can't use him.
Speaker 4 (10:48):
He's a he's a club tree at six. Okay, but
you know what I mean, Subreeen played twenty some odd
years as well.
Speaker 1 (10:55):
I'm saying, and that's what I'm trying to say, doesn't
have to simply be rings. I also take the eye
Michael look different than Tom Brady, but.
Speaker 4 (11:03):
He hasn't looked the same the last couple the last
couple of years he got that guy.
Speaker 1 (11:07):
What I'm saying, you're still taking the totality of their
Michael Jordan looked great the whole way through. That's what
I'm trying to say. People are saying, oh, he's Jordans.
Speaker 4 (11:15):
Michael Jordan never looked bad like like we've saw Patrick Mahomes.
Speaker 2 (11:19):
It's in some narrative.
Speaker 1 (11:21):
Point, but it's football is different, and that I can
lean on my running game, or I can lean on
Jordan every.
Speaker 4 (11:28):
Night telling me that Patrick Patrick Mahomes wants to win
fifteen games and not be considered an m VP candidate.
Speaker 1 (11:37):
I don't, absolutely I do not do. He don't need
anymore about needing more.
Speaker 4 (11:42):
He wants to play the best that he can play.
Doesn't have to be I don't believe that it's a
cop out, because if he was winning all the m vps,
then you would put more credence. It's the same thing
with Lebron, like because because he's lost so many, you
gotta count.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
It's about getting there.
Speaker 4 (12:02):
If Lebron was winning all of those and had more
than Michael Jordan truck, guess what you would be saying
he got.
Speaker 1 (12:08):
Of course, what I'm saying is patrick. But that's why
I bring up Marv Levy to you. He went to four,
he didn't win.
Speaker 4 (12:16):
Nobody thinks he's great, and that's why I'm saying getting
to something is not the same as winn.
Speaker 1 (12:21):
At Holmes being fifteen to two every year for the
next eight years.
Speaker 2 (12:24):
He would signed okay to heart heat.
Speaker 4 (12:26):
No, he would yes, absolutely to go to not win
a super Bowl in eight years.
Speaker 2 (12:30):
No, you are saying talking.
Speaker 1 (12:31):
About the gameplay said doesn't play like he did. I said,
if he played exactly how he has played.
Speaker 4 (12:36):
If he does not, if he plays eight more years
of say they lose, I'll give you the scenario and
doesn't win again. Andy, we retired the team and shambles.
I gotta restart when a plays eight or nine. Tom
Brady went nine years without winning, okay before we had
the second run. So to tom Brady, like eight years,
he's ready to retire, had a great start to his career.
Speaker 2 (12:57):
People will not look at him the same way he is.
Speaker 1 (13:00):
Tom Brady is currently the goat No I'm talking about right,
But I'm saying Patatrick mahone he wins.
Speaker 4 (13:06):
Went out without tom Brady's second act, he wouldn't be considered.
Speaker 1 (13:10):
Three no for sure. But I mean, but you're taking
the different only judging for the total.
Speaker 4 (13:15):
I'm saying the only difference between him, tom Brady, and
Mahomes would be it could be the same amount of
super Bowls three or he Mahomes could have one more.
Speaker 2 (13:27):
And you get my point. And that's what I say.
They lose.
Speaker 4 (13:29):
Tom Brady won three early nine years without winning, and
then he wound up winning again for late. So I'm saying,
Patrick Mahomes, we don't know yet if they lose on
Sunday and then they go through a dry spell, right,
but kindessy Chiefs, before they won their first one went
fifty years, right, I want you.
Speaker 2 (13:49):
Know for sure.
Speaker 1 (13:50):
The only thing I'll say before we break here. You
keep projecting the negative they don't win. I'm telling you
watch what I'm saying. You projecting they don't win Sunday
and he doesn't win again. What about what we've seen
says they win Sunday and then he wins. No, done
or two more, It's exactly. But what I'm saying is
I'm giving.
Speaker 4 (14:09):
No, but I'm giving you a Patriots dynasty that went
nine years without win.
Speaker 2 (14:17):
Nobody's ever done three short, I'm not one more. Nobody's
ever won three in a row.
Speaker 4 (14:24):
So I'm telling you they're gonna lose on Sunday because
no one's ever won in a Super Bowl ere Right,
So they lose. And I'm telling you Andy Weed's not
getting younger. Patrick Mahomes has not been as good. Kelsey
might say I'm done, okay. So I'm saying all these
different things. I'm saying is you're not finishing the Patriots story.
Rob they won.
Speaker 1 (14:45):
Yes, it went nine years, they still ended up winning more.
Speaker 2 (14:48):
Why stopping at the time but not going the next four?
Andy Reid is not the age that Bill bella chatter.
What I'm saying they won three more?
Speaker 1 (14:56):
You keep saying they went nine years, but you're you're
stopping The Patriots went nine.
Speaker 4 (14:59):
Years, nine years without winning. Patrick Mahomes has already played
seven years? How many years he's playing?
Speaker 2 (15:05):
Why play?
Speaker 6 (15:06):
Two?
Speaker 2 (15:07):
Forty? Two years old? Have you seen Patrick Mahomes? Why not?
Speaker 1 (15:10):
Is he in gray shape? He doesn't have to I'm
saying he can go to forty. That's eleven years.
Speaker 4 (15:16):
What would what would Patrick Mahomes need to do to
become the goat?
Speaker 2 (15:19):
To you?
Speaker 4 (15:20):
Would it be a Super Bowl three three pete to
put him over the top? Does he need to do more?
Where you will continue that conversation next with you? It

Three in a row? Which are making the FOURD? Does
he need to do more? Eight seven, seven ninety nine
on Fox Who we got Bert in Baltimore.
Speaker 4 (16:32):
You're on the couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up
of Bird?
Speaker 7 (16:36):
What's up?
Speaker 6 (16:36):
Man?
Speaker 7 (16:36):
You guys are the hardest guys working in radio. We
appreciate that and searching it.
Speaker 8 (16:41):
You're working man always.
Speaker 6 (16:43):
I think.
Speaker 9 (16:44):
I think Mahomes he's got it within three peat, He's
got more to go. He's got far to go before
he's a goat. Okay, and I think he's great, But
I also think that he's still got far to go.
And to say he's the goat. I wanted to get
into Lamar because Lamar got kicked. Uh you need to
work those two booters over for the book. Lo the job, man,
(17:06):
it's a loser joke. You know, I looked a long
time ago. I was an All American. I was on
national Champion teams. Awards are bullshit. If you talk to
Lamar's night, he tell.
Speaker 2 (17:15):
Your good Bendia Carr, you were doing well.
Speaker 4 (17:19):
Poppy Poppy from San Diego. You're in the coupley Fox
Sports Radio?
Speaker 2 (17:24):
What's up? Buddy?
Speaker 7 (17:26):
Hey, what's everybody?
Speaker 2 (17:27):
What's going on? Guys?
Speaker 7 (17:27):
First, I want to talk about Josh Allen before Pat.
Speaker 10 (17:30):
I believe they got it right.
Speaker 7 (17:32):
I was saying all season line, before all these links
to the media, I started talking about Dash Island and
he deserved to be the mppy. I'm happy they got
it right and they finally got it and it's like
you got a new flavor. You know you you don't
want to go to the ice creams part.
Speaker 6 (17:46):
No.
Speaker 4 (17:46):
I want vanilla ice cream every single time, with no sprinkles,
just straight vanilla. That's all I'm on Ian straight vanilla,
some cookies and cream.
Speaker 2 (17:56):
Poppy Poppy, Oh lost him. I want to tell you what.
Speaker 4 (18:03):
About Daniel in South Carolina? You're on the odd couple.
Fox Sports Radio. Daniel, what's up, but.
Speaker 8 (18:08):
Dick, what's going on?
Speaker 2 (18:10):
Fellas A?
Speaker 8 (18:11):
Uh, you're still in New Orleans, right, Yes, sir, Yes, sir, Hey,
rob My boy, just don't fluor Eugene Robinson while you're
down there.
Speaker 2 (18:20):
I'm not doing that. Yeah, it is absolutely the first.
Speaker 8 (18:27):
Lamar Jackson should have won the MVP. It's not like
you know, they was like how Josh Allen was playing
for Notre Dame and was playing for b YU.
Speaker 2 (18:38):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 8 (18:40):
So, I mean, I mean the numbers. Just say Lamar
Jackson and then with Patrick Mahomes, that cat. If he
wins this Sunday, he's gonna be at least second basket
of all time, he'll be ahead of Montana rob No.
Speaker 4 (18:54):
Not to me, Montana was four and no. So let
me ask you, no, no, no, I'm not gonna Can
he ever be? Can he dethrown Joe Montana?
Speaker 8 (19:03):
For you?
Speaker 2 (19:03):
If he went.
Speaker 8 (19:06):
Ro if he goes eight and eleven, what do you.
Speaker 2 (19:09):
Mean eight and eleven?
Speaker 4 (19:10):
And in the in the Super Bowl, thing he's said
was he didn't want to know a I stop it,
okay stop. My point is My point is if he
if he loses this he's ahead of Joe Montana because
he went to five. He's I'm asking, I'm asking you,
I'm asking you if he if he loses, this, is
he ahead of Joe Montana?
Speaker 8 (19:31):
To you, he's not yet yet?
Speaker 2 (19:35):
Okay, that's all I want to know. Okay, if.
Speaker 1 (19:40):
Why fo you keep only asking if he loses? I
just want to know why can't he win? Can it
be a scenario?
Speaker 2 (19:46):
He will?
Speaker 4 (19:47):
That be the three p and that before? Just like
I told you, Rob, do you got something?
Speaker 11 (19:50):
So just to make the comparison because everybody's comparing my
homes to Brady, the Joe Montana case is actually pretty
strong because he's he's currently one up on Super Bowls,
two up on Pro Bowls, two up on all pros.
Speaker 2 (20:04):
Like you got that.
Speaker 12 (20:06):
Plus he's got eight thousand more passing yards now. Of course,
Patrick Mahomes in the era he plays in the rating
the NFL much better for him, you can kind of throw.
But Joe Montana is quietly he's got a sterling repute.
Speaker 13 (20:19):
You know, if it wasn't for Tom Brady. Seven the
question and that's why when I talk about him, I
say it all the time. Eleven touchdowns, no picks, in
the Super Bowl four. No, right, he won two with
Jerry Rice, two with thousand, so you can't say, well,
you have the greatest receiver.
Speaker 4 (20:37):
Of course he's gonna win, so he does. Showed that
he can win with both. He has his signature throws.
Two of the Super Bowls he needed a touchdown to
win the game, not a field goal, get in the
field goal position. He needed a touchdown, and then he
won three of the four m vps. I'm just saying
his resume is sterling. It's like ge right, sterling. I
(20:59):
have no problem with Joe Montana, and he has the
highest quarterback rating correct in Super Bowl industry. Yes, correct,
that's all. I have no problem Joe. There's there's nothing
he did wrong to not be considered to go. You know,
Tom Brady just went crazy in one seven, which is
absolutely ridiculous in this era too.
Speaker 2 (21:16):
Uh, let's got another one. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (21:18):
Uh Mike Caper squeezing man uh drey and in Massachusetts
a couple of Fox s portuating what's up, dray?
Speaker 6 (21:25):
Hey, what's going on that second? The call?
Speaker 10 (21:28):
Also credit to Joe Montana. He played in an era
where you could actually hit people and it was real football.
So yes, to be a quarterback at that time was
just night and days different. We didn't have a flag
football pro ball. When Joe Montana and Dan Marino and
John l we were playing.
Speaker 2 (21:43):
They played.
Speaker 10 (21:44):
Yeah, those things also need to be factored in, and
that's a lot would have to do with the longevity.
I'll be quarterbacks now would make good business sense because
they to drive the brand. But they're able to play
longer because you're you're essentially not able to really haul
off on them. But specific to Patrick Mahomes, he does
need to keep winning to solidify his legacy. It doesn't
matter if he's ahead early. Well we know that Dan
(22:07):
Marino was ahead early and it'll be over in the
blink of an eye.
Speaker 7 (22:11):
Pat Homes, do not take the foot off the gas.
I think he still has Andy Reech not going anywhere.
He loves the coach, So I think he's gonna say
as long as he possibly.
Speaker 2 (22:20):
Can he so any we could be a por chop away.
Speaker 1 (22:24):
This is the one time that ain't crazy when you
say that. This is the one time, Hey, you might
not be wrong, you know. Pete Carroll seemed to take
a little bit better care of himself. All right, Thank you,
dra for the call. We appreciate you, man, Hey Lamar
Mitchell bet MGM all round the quarter right now, Steve
the Seger, what is trending?
Speaker 14 (22:40):
Well, let's start with the NBA because the game of
Detroit's been a blowout all night. Pistons are leading late
third quarter against Philadelphia one o one to eighty two.
It was at halftime seventy eight forty nine and Kate
Cunningham of the Pistons is out with a frained ankle. Tonight,
Beasley has thirty points.
Speaker 2 (22:57):
Come on six ers, What is this? Joelle?
Speaker 14 (22:59):
And he'd had three points in the first half. He's
up to twenty two now, but they're not catching them.
It's one on one, eighty two late in the third.
It's early third quarter at Oklahoma City, Thunder up fifty
eight to fifty two over Toronto. Chet Holmger and finally
back he was out three months with a fractured pelvis.
Oklahoma City with a record of forty and nine in
the lead early third and the late game in a
(23:22):
half an hour, we'll have Phoenix hosting Utah. Kevin Durant
to the Suns out with a sprained ankle. The Hawks
are ahead of the Bucks ninety six ninety two with
under eight minutes to go. Milwaukee's Giannis Antenecumpo out again
with a sore calf. Also in progress, Nets eighty to
seventy nine over Miami nine minutes left and two other games.
The Hornets lead by one with one second left one
(23:44):
seventeen one sixteen over the Spurs despite thirty three points
from san Antonio Stefan Castle, and the Cavaliers are leading
with a minute left at Washington one thirty four to
one nineteen despite forty five points from the Wizard's Jordan Poole.
It looks like Washington's record will be nine and forty two.
Anthony Davis will debut with the Mavericks on Saturday. He's
(24:06):
miss five games with an abdominal strain. In Minnesota's Anthony
Edwards questionable for Saturday with a sore hip. In college basketball,
there's a Top twenty matchup on Fox TV right now,
fifteen minutes to go, and it's tied. Saint John's at
Connecticut tied at forty two. Seventh rank Purdue one again
beating USC ninety to seventy two. Perdue is eleven and
(24:26):
two in the Big Ten Conference. Indiana Hoosiers coach Mike
Woodson will step down after this season. They've lost six
of their last seven games. He is sixty six years old.
Among the five NHL matchups, it's currently Winnipeg at home
leading the Islanders late second period three to two, and
Tiger Woods will play in next week's PGA event, which
benefits his foundation. It'll be held in San Diego this
(24:48):
year instead of La.
Speaker 4 (24:49):
Back to you, Steve, we appreciate you. Have a great weekend.
Thank you who you got in the Super.
Speaker 14 (24:54):
Bowl Kansas City? Just because of the close games. They
don't lose close games. Philadelphia show win. That's the best
roster I've seen. An elite offensive line, the best defense
this year, certainly the best running attack the NFC had
this year. But if it's close in the fourth.
Speaker 2 (25:11):
You know what it is. Grim Reaper is coming, Rob Parker.
But Philly has a great team.
Speaker 1 (25:16):
Oh yes, and so has everybody else had a great
team today meet the Patrick Mahomes. All right, thank you, Steve.
We appreciate you man, have a great weekend. As Rob said,
we're coming to you live from the tire rack dot
Com studios. As always in joining us now is our
man Mitchell bet MGM.
Speaker 2 (25:33):
By the way, Lamar, are.
Speaker 1 (25:35):
You flying planes over outside of the convention Center. I'm
looking at my window this morning and I see a
bet MGM playing.
Speaker 2 (25:42):
I was like, what is Lamar doing up there?
Speaker 6 (25:45):
You know? If I could? There's no other place I
want to be besides New Orleans.
Speaker 2 (25:51):
Oh, I bet, no doubt about it.
Speaker 1 (25:54):
We've been having a great time out here, all right, Lamar,
Let's get to it. We open the show talking about MVP.
You know Rob Taks SamArt.
Speaker 2 (26:00):
We got Rob yep, you know, we got Rob Lamar.
Speaker 1 (26:03):
But we also mentioned during yesterday showed that there was
a sudden surge of action. This was really interesting and
offshore of markets on Josh Allen away, So somebody knew something, Lamar.
Did you guys see that kind of weird activity over
there at bet MGM as well? And if so, how
big of a hit did you guys take once Allen
won the MVP?
Speaker 6 (26:21):
No, actually we were We had to market off the
board at the end of the regular season, so we
didn't see the activity on it from our side and
here Nevada, but.
Speaker 15 (26:30):
We did see this late towards the end of the season.
Action on Josh Allen and basically, you know, the.
Speaker 6 (26:36):
Market is pretty solid where it was going back and
forth between those two players, and the last that we
saw was definitely Josh Allen.
Speaker 2 (26:43):
All Right, one more quick one before we get into
the game.
Speaker 4 (26:47):
I read that the Nevada sports books lost two point
one million on the NFL in the month of December,
and that was the first time the books lost an
NFL month in over twelve years. What were wrong in
December and what did the book How did the books
rebound in the month of January.
Speaker 6 (27:06):
No, Rob, I'd like to say the likes Cylon and
we like to say, uh, nothing really with rog except
for the fact that the favorites, the favorites had an
alarmingly high rate of winning the games in covering so
and even when.
Speaker 2 (27:20):
Except for the Kansas City Chiefs right.
Speaker 15 (27:23):
Exactly exactly except also also the favorites in that month,
they even when they didn't cover, they just won so
any money line wagers parlays.
Speaker 6 (27:34):
It was a better month for the players. And actually
we saw that heading about committed November. The players had
an advantage. It was the players long and definitely the
players enjoyed the late success of the favorites in the season.
Speaker 1 (27:51):
All right, the mart let's talk about the American Gaming Association.
Uh I suspected about one point four billion in legalized
betting action for the Super Bowl. Oh, and that number
would be about a ten percent increase from last year's handle.
Speaker 2 (28:03):
So does that number sound about right to you? And
also how much of that would you.
Speaker 1 (28:07):
Say is online wagering versus betting at the window?
Speaker 6 (28:11):
You know, we talked about that all the time. I mean,
every year we get requests for six and seventh figure
wagers on this game, and this year is no different
than last year where we see more increases requests about that.
So I don't necessarily know if it's one of those
things where we're going to set a record handle, but
(28:33):
I expect every year US to increase our handle over
year over prior year. So, like I said, it's a
number that I don't have off the top of my
head that I can say what the legal versus illegal
number is. But for us in the state of Nevada,
we definitely see many requests coming through. I just got
one last night. Player wants to bet seven figures. This
(28:56):
player wants to bet seven figures. His player wants to
bet seven figures we're ready for.
Speaker 2 (29:01):
Just bring it on, all right, man, and the please
money on any streets. Yeah, there's plenty of money.
Speaker 4 (29:06):
And the preseason, the Chiefs were favorites to win the
Super Bowl with the odds of plus four hundred and
fifty while Philadelphia open with plus sixteen hundred. I know
Kansas City is a public team, but with the preseason
odds being that long in Philly, do you guys that
bet MGM actually have a bigger liability to this Sunday
with the Eagles than the Chiefs.
Speaker 6 (29:31):
Well, the way home it started out, you're you're right,
but really our biggest liability was year Detroit Lions rob
and once they got knocked out to do it. The
second liability we had was on the Chiefs. But the Eagles,
believe it or not, we're in to get spot with
these guys. So if they do win the future book,
(29:52):
we're happy. If they win the Pro Football Championship. We
are a small loser if the Chiefs do win, though,
because with the number of transactions or tickets written on.
Speaker 8 (30:01):
The Chiefs right.
Speaker 7 (30:04):
The most out of all.
Speaker 6 (30:05):
The thirty two teams, We're going to take a hit
if they do win the championship, whereas the Eagles, even
though they start out with mongerrods, they learned the bottom
tiers as far as the number of tickets written on
them to win the championship.
Speaker 4 (30:18):
I'm glad you made a ton of money off those
woeful Lions.
Speaker 2 (30:22):
Cut it out.
Speaker 1 (30:22):
I can't wait take my wings next year when they
get in the postseason. All right, this season, Philly is
thirteen to oh Lamar straight up went allowing under twenty points.
So with that in mind, I'd assume if you're picking
the Eagles to win, you'd expect it to be a
low scoring game. The only problem is the over has
it in both the Chiefs pass two Super Bowl appearances.
So what kind of action you guys seeing and the
total on this Sunday, It's kind of tricky.
Speaker 2 (30:44):
I could see both ways.
Speaker 6 (30:46):
Yeah, the students, we open this number up at forty
nine and a half. I believe we open it up.
The Sharps came in right away and bet this number down.
Speaker 2 (30:58):
So we.
Speaker 6 (31:01):
Public for Joe's to come in on the over, and
we're seeing some of that to come in right now
since everyone's coming in Friday, Saturday and Sunday for this game.
But definitely. The sharp players have definitely been on this under.
But typical with this game every year, the public is
always on the over. So this will definitely be Joe's
(31:22):
versus pros in that scenario.
Speaker 4 (31:24):
All right, Lamar Mitchell as our guests here on the
couple of course, of course, from bet MGM director of Trading, Lamar,
let's go here. All the numbers say Philly is the
better team in this game. Since week five, the week
five by I should say, the Eagles have going fifteen.
Speaker 2 (31:41):
To one, posted a plus twenty.
Speaker 4 (31:44):
Seven turnover margin, and one of their games by an
average of two touchdowns. And yet this game opened up
and it's holding pretty strong at Chiefs minus one and
a half. We're at the sharps on this in this
spot and are you are you going to and.
Speaker 2 (32:01):
Are you getting good two way action? I should say
on this as well.
Speaker 6 (32:05):
Yeah, so Rob, to answer your question, definitely on this
game here, the Joes are definitely fifty to fifty on this.
The Sharps haven't really be the side. The Sharps immediately
came in on the Eagles plus one ten on the
money line. We took two significant high figure bets on
(32:28):
and that's where the sharp money has been as far
as this game. But the public definitely fifty to fifty
and typically we always see for this game as well too.
The public will always come in on the underdog on
the money line.
Speaker 15 (32:42):
But when you get those.
Speaker 6 (32:43):
Six close to seventh figure wagers on the Eagles plus
one ten, you know that's where the sharp money definitely
is all right.
Speaker 4 (32:51):
Last one right here, Vegas wants to be right. When
I have fifty to fifty, that means you with the
right number.
Speaker 1 (32:56):
Right Lamar. Everybody loves the prop best. You got the
national anthem. Of course, a coin toss. One of people's
favorites is the Gatoray color, and the list goes on
and on. So for a lot of casual betters, those
are like the bests that are easier to win and
picking a side or total anything like that.
Speaker 2 (33:10):
So what kind of handle do you expect to see.
Speaker 1 (33:12):
On Super Bowl props this year at bet mgm OH I.
Speaker 6 (33:18):
Expect the prop handled just a skyrocket like it did
does every year. You know the player props which we
offer every week, and we will offer limited amount of
player props during the season. But now you have receiving yards,
receiving pass yards, receptions, first perception yards, you have so many.
(33:38):
One of my favorites is Sae Kwon Barkley. If you're
not an Eagle believer, you're gonna bet him under in
this rushing eleven and a half. But if you're back
of the Eagles, you're probably gonna think he's going to
be the MVP. So there's just so many out there
kicking props, safety props, nay that we have it all
and typically we see the big wells come in. I've
(33:59):
seen some of the bets with the bet two hundred
fifty thousand just to win twenty five thousand on a
prop bet because they think that's the bet, and sometimes
it is and sometimes it's not. And that's what we
look forward to, all.
Speaker 1 (34:11):
Right, man, two undred fifty just to win twenty five
that's when you know you just like the camp right
there at that point. All right for Lamar Man, thank
you so much about it. Youiate you up, man Man,
thank you for rocking with us all season. To Mark,
We'll see what happens on Sunday.
Speaker 6 (34:24):
That's been my pleasure. I'll look forward to it again.
Speaker 2 (34:27):
You guys know always, you know that you're the best.
Speaker 1 (34:30):
Lamar thank you eight seven seven MVY just like Lamar Jackson.
Speaker 2 (34:35):
Yeah, well you ain't wrong, but he was wrong eight.

All right, Last call Andrew from Bakersfield, California. You are
the last call Andrew on the odd couple.
Speaker 16 (35:58):
What's up, guys? I got one for both of you guys. First,
I think Dan Campbell is a good coach, and we
can go through all of the so called bad decisions.
But what I think happened for their last loss was
with all the talk about Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn,
I think he got real presidential, real executive like and
(36:21):
folded his arms and like let them do their thing.
And I think he should have done more.
Speaker 6 (36:27):
Now.
Speaker 16 (36:30):
The second one is Sean McDermott. I think he should
be fired. I think he should have gone for two
when they were when they were down one point, and
he should have heard eight mile in his head.
Speaker 1 (36:44):
Mom, spaghetti, all right, Hey, we're running a long time brother, Yeah,

We were tied in the regular season.
Speaker 17 (37:24):
We were tied to the championship round of the AFC
and NFC postseason.
Speaker 2 (37:29):
I blew it, then you blew it. I had to lead,
and then you had to lead. It comes down season.
Speaker 17 (37:35):
I came back on Sunday, Eagles and the Chiefs. We
got all the information all week, all the guests. You
got the betting information from Lamar Mitchell. About ten minutes
ago the final line bet MGM Chiefs one and a
half point favorites here in New Orleans, dub Who were
(37:57):
you taking.
Speaker 2 (37:59):
Well.
Speaker 1 (38:00):
I think the Eagles are the better team on paper.
I think the Eagles will make a great game of this.
The Chiefs don't blow you out. They don't do that
most of the time. You'll stay in this thing. But
the problem is the Eagles are gonna go in the
fourth quarter up twenty four to twenty and that ain't enough,
rob g because you're only up four, and Patrick the
Grim Reaper Mahomes is gonna have the ball with about
(38:22):
three minutes left and he's gonna run that thing down
and score and they're gonna win twenty seven twenty four Chiefs.
Speaker 4 (38:31):
I actually have the same score, oh wow, but I
have the Eagles winning and the Chiefs have a chance
to tie the game to send it into overtime, and
they get.
Speaker 2 (38:41):
A miss field goal? Is left for why? Right? I'm
gonna say why left? Okay?
Speaker 4 (38:48):
Okay, they miss the field goal and the Eagles win
by three, okay, twenty seven to twenty four, and then
luck finally runs out where normally that would work for them,
and the Eagles win the Super Bowl, and we could
stop talking about Patrick Mahomes. Andy weied for Kelsey and
a month right back and stop talking about because that'll
(39:09):
be Hey.
Speaker 1 (39:10):
This might be a rougher for you. Rob Eli didn't
make it. Josh was MVP. Patrick Mahomes. Where's This's gonna
be a bad weekend on you.
Speaker 4 (39:19):
Nothing will ever be as bad as when you thought
your Lions would be here in New Orleans.
Speaker 2 (39:25):
And I told you that your quarterback was gonna throw
three picks and he did exactly that.
Speaker 4 (39:32):
And you, your Lions with last year, should have been
in the super Bowl, right, Not in a half point
favorites against a rookie quarterback.
Speaker 2 (39:39):
At home and they wet the bed.
Speaker 1 (39:42):
That's three pete And I can't even say three p
because pat Riley owns it.
Speaker 2 (39:49):
All right.
Speaker 1 (39:50):
That's it from New Orleans. We appreciate y'all. We'll have
a great game on Sunday. We talk Monday.
