(01:36):
here on the Odd Couple that's coming up in about
twenty eight minutes. And last call in case you didn't
get in earlier. Yes, on the hell on one of
the topics we were talking about. You can chime in
and talk about anything that you want to talk about,
but first, uh, let's go here Rob g and.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
Along for you, Rob No, I didn't say that that's
what you wanted to say. I did. I want you
to set the car about it, please?
Speaker 4 (02:07):
Man.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
You know how many times that's happened to me. I
can't talk about it. You know how many? That sounds terrible?
Speaker 5 (02:12):
You don't many times that where I saw a young
man of hispanic persuasion, I said, and I thought.
Speaker 6 (02:18):
Hey, he said, hey man, what do you mean? I'm
just here for dinner too. You're like, oh, I'm sorry,
I'm sorry.
Speaker 1 (02:22):
What they did? They run it?
Speaker 2 (02:23):
A hand me the ticket and stuff. I'll take the
tip though, I'm just not taking a ticket. That's got
to be racist, terrible.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
All right, guys.
Speaker 5 (02:31):
So I don't know if you guys saw this, but
Shaq has a new show on Netflix that's coming out
and and it's been very quietly getting boosted out on
social media. Netflix is putting out little teaser videos, and
he said something in the most recent teaser video that
raised people's eyebrows. Not for the reasons you would think.
Here's the reason why this is important. Flashback to March,
(02:54):
Steph Curry and the Warriors were on TNT. Steph pad
phenomenal performance. Here here's what Shaq said about Steph after
that game on March fourth.
Speaker 7 (03:04):
As the supreme leader of the Big Man Alliance, I
demand your fans to start putting Steph Curry in that
greatest of all time conversation. Just start putting them in
the conversation with the conversation Kobe Lebron. Start putting stuff
in that conversation.
Speaker 5 (03:20):
So that's one the latest Netflix promo video for his
new show Coming Out, Shack decided to give his list
of the ten greatest players in NBA history.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
I'll go in to order from ten to one.
Speaker 5 (03:33):
Number ten, Doctor j number nine, Tim Duncan number eight,
it came the Dream number seven, Larry Bird number six,
Well the Still number five, Bill Russell number four, Maggie
Johnson number three, Lebron James number two, Kobe Bryant number one,
Michael Jordan.
Speaker 1 (03:48):
Somebody's missing from that Steph Curry on that list. Rob Parker.
Speaker 2 (03:52):
Okay, and this is exhibit A on why you guys
need to stop listening to these athlete podcast has and
seriously because everything is prisoner of the moment, no research,
no being consistent and having I mean, how in the
(04:12):
world could he beat his chest after a great Steph
Curry performance right on TNT national television talking about he
should be in the greatest of All Time conversation, but
he's not in his top ten lists.
Speaker 1 (04:28):
It's as a nine. It's ridiculous. This is what you
get over and over and over.
Speaker 2 (04:35):
Where's the consistency, Where's the research?
Speaker 1 (04:39):
Where stop the knee jerk reaction?
Speaker 2 (04:42):
How can we take Shack seriously when one minute he's
talking about how great Steph is and talking about the
Goat right when you talk about the goat is about two.
Speaker 1 (04:54):
Or three people He said he should be in the.
Speaker 2 (04:56):
Goat conversation, but he's not Kelvin in the top ten
list on Shack's list.
Speaker 1 (05:01):
How does that make sense? Guys?
Speaker 2 (05:06):
Stop it, turn those podcasts off, put on earphones, on
ear muffs.
Speaker 1 (05:14):
Stop listening.
Speaker 2 (05:16):
What are they doing. They're just talking. You know why
they have podcasts. I'm gonna tell you why. They're extremely bored.
They have nothing else to do. That's why they're talking.
Because most of it doesn't make sense. Shaq makes absolutely
(05:38):
no sense. How if you were to ask him or
call him on I'm sure he's on the podcast, Rob
g Kelvin. I don't know if he has a co
host or anything. I guarantee you guarantee you on that show.
Nobody pushed back or nobody brought up, Well, Shack, didn't
(05:58):
you say Stephans should be in the go conversation? That's
what you need. You need to be pushed. I'm not
surprised by this at all.
Speaker 1 (06:10):
All right, let me let me go in here.
Speaker 6 (06:12):
Listen, we all love Shack for exactly where Shaq is,
but this is what makes me crazy about this. First
of all, let's break down a couple of things. Forget
steph Curry. Where was Kareem abdul Jabbar? How do you
not have Kareem abdul Jabbar in the top ten?
Speaker 1 (06:28):
Did I miss something?
Speaker 4 (06:29):
South?
Speaker 1 (06:30):
I read this top ten? I read it. I heard
you say, did I hear Kareem? Maybe I reserve.
Speaker 6 (06:36):
Maybe how do you not have a list of top
ten and not have Kareem Abdul Jabbar number one. You're
a fellow big man of the big Man alliance, and
he was the big man for years and years and years.
The all time leader is scorer until Lebron in the
last year, probably.
Speaker 2 (06:52):
The greatest basketball player every leak, probably from college to
the NBA.
Speaker 1 (06:58):
He has all the NVBS. He is.
Speaker 6 (07:01):
Whom groomed you, you spend time with and talk to you. Tutlitch,
how do you leave Kareem off when he really in
my opinion, you can't go further than three without mentioned Kareem.
I agree the tree I got some issues. If you
go past three, now you can maybe you put Lebron okay,
Kobe okay, get.
Speaker 1 (07:19):
MJ and Kareem gotta be in the three. Okay.
Speaker 6 (07:22):
That that that's just mandatory. Now that's before I even
get to a Steph Curry conversation. So I didn't hear Kareem.
I'm disappointed in that. Now let's get to the Steph conversation.
Shaq is mixing up most fascinating, most entertaining, or greatest
shooter or most electrifying with greatest he is not even
(07:45):
connosation conversation with the greatest of all time. And that's
not a knock on him, because you could argue if
you if someone said, hey, he was my favorite player
to watch, I could completely understand that he's the greatest
shooter I've ever seen, completely will concur if you said
he was the most electric five. I'm right there with you.
I can understand that. But he's not on the list
the greatest of all time, and then if he was,
(08:05):
he ain't even on your list, Shack. So that just
shows me. You're watching the game on a Thursday on TNT,
you see him hit eight threes in a quarter or
something crazy, and you wish you could do that.
Speaker 1 (08:15):
Because Shaq whish is he was a guard.
Speaker 6 (08:16):
He talks about it all the time, and I think
it's just to them admiration for what he couldn't do,
the handles, the crazy layups, the shooting, and I think
he admires it so much that it is affecting his
real opinion on what goat is because he knows good
and well. Steph knows he can't be in the goat conversation.
And I get mad when people say he's the greatest
(08:38):
point guard of all time because he's still not better
than Magic. And so that's just crazy, Robs both of
y'all that he would not you say he's the goat,
then he's not on the goat list.
Speaker 1 (08:47):
Kareem Mad on the goat list, Shaq.
Speaker 6 (08:49):
I just love Shack for who he is, but pure
bad basketball analytics and analysis. I should say, I'm not
coming to Shack for that. And I love Diesel the DJ,
the humor, the philanthropy, No, but.
Speaker 1 (09:02):
That's not what he's doing there in this case.
Speaker 2 (09:06):
But in this case, he's given you his basketball IQ
and and and and information. And to me, that's exactly
because now you've because now you're like, really, Shack just
made a list of top ten and a Kareem's not
on it, and and he said Steph Curry was one
(09:27):
of the all time greats and he's not on it either.
I mean, like none of it makes sense. This is
what I'm talking about, Like like it's it's depending on
the day and prisoner of the moment and all that kind.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
Of crazy stuff. We've heard, rob.
Speaker 2 (09:40):
G how many times where we have to we shook
our heads over the years, right when these podcasts and
people are talking about stuff. I can't remember. There's been
a couple other where we just were like, what they
played the game supposedly and told us that we don't
know it.
Speaker 6 (10:00):
Yeah, there's a few people that do that. They have
these moments. You're like, bro, what are you watching?
Speaker 1 (10:04):
Did you did you hear Gilbert Arenas today or see
what he says? Part? What part he called?
Speaker 2 (10:09):
He called Kat the B word and said he built
like he talked about the man's hips.
Speaker 6 (10:19):
Really really and it was disappointing about that. And I
mean it's sincerely, gil is hilarious. He has his moments,
but what's disappointing about that is I just got done
watching the Shooting Guard documentary. Did you guys see that
or know about what it's about? And it's the gun issues? Yeah,
and he talks about how he felt bad, you know,
because maybe he played a role in the downfall of
(10:42):
Critington with the whole gun charge who then will go
off and murder a young lady. And I know he's
just being funnier, but dude, like coming from you, Karl
Anthony Towns already has to deal with this from everybody.
Opened up his phone. First thing, he's gonna see all
the time. But then from a guy who played the game,
I would imagine least have had some interaction of time
or two like that's.
Speaker 1 (11:02):
Just going too far.
Speaker 6 (11:03):
And you see what you do when you bully, when
you tease, and you saw what the Crittington situation, and
I just felt like that was going way too far.
You can say he's the worst defender and everybody's going
at him like as he mentioned, cool with that, but
like he started disrespecting the man's anatomy and all this
and how he's building, Like, all right, you going too
far now, Karl Anthony Towns is the mess around and
going spiral into some crazy depression like here we.
Speaker 1 (11:26):
Go again kind of a thing.
Speaker 6 (11:27):
So I just yeah, he took that one way too far,
because it wasn't just talking about how bad he was
defensively or how horrible you know, maybe he his athleticism is.
Speaker 1 (11:35):
He took it way too far. I was disappointing in that.
Speaker 2 (11:38):
Crazy I just told you, all right eight seven seven
ninety nine on Fox. Do you have a problem with
Shaq and some of these athletes podcasts? I'm not saying,
of course, there's some who are put in some work
and think about it and not just throw stuff out,
(11:58):
but a lot of them all over the place.
Speaker 1 (12:01):
No consistency.
Speaker 2 (12:03):
I mean, just embarrassing, like like seriously, even the Netflix
people who released Shack's list or whatever, like, no is
nobody mine in the store. Seriously, somebody should be there
to say, Shack, let me say this to you. I
don't think that's the list you want to have. Do
you know why Coween's not on the list? Like, seriously,
(12:25):
that's why you have write editors and producers. Rob G's
our producer. You know how many times I've been in
the meeting and they said, Rob, don't say that.
Speaker 5 (12:35):
Are you sure you want to put Aaron Judge in
your top five sluggers list? That was twenty thirteen. They
tried to talk me out of it, but I was
right that one. I was right finally, But you get
my point.
Speaker 1 (12:45):
We want to hear from you.
Speaker 2 (12:46):
Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox It is The
Odd Couple, Rob Parker kelvin Washington, right here on Fox
Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (12:53):
Stick and stay to.
Speaker 3 (12:55):
Find out if Shaq might be just a little too
far out there in the USOVC be sure to live
editions of The Odd Couple with Rob Parker and kelvin
Washington weekdays at seven pm Eastern four pm Pacific on
Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 1 (13:10):
Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 6 (13:13):
It's the Hot coover Rob Parker covin Washington on a
worship Wednesday on the Way, don't forget we got Lamar
Mitchell bet MGM, director of Trading, gonna make a earlier
than usual appearance. Usually do football with him, so it'll
be good to catch up with him as we get
ready for the NBA Finals. That's all nay right, but
I'm still riding it subday right, but you know we
don't well, you get it. Ty Rek has been helping
(13:34):
customers find the right tires for how, what and where
they drive, ship fast and free back by free road
hazard protection with convenient installation options like mobile tire installation,
tire reck dot COM's the Way tire buying should be
all right, Rob and I talking about man Shot, made
some comments and essentially gave his list the top ten
all time greatest NBA players. He left out a couple
(13:54):
one he said, we need to start considering as to
go Steph. He didn't mention him. Secondly, most of regious
act for me. He left off, kareem out.
Speaker 1 (14:02):
Dudes, which is just insane, just worse than the stuff.
Speaker 6 (14:06):
Conversation eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox is Shaq crazy?
Speaker 1 (14:09):
Are we missing? Are we overreacting? And do you take
what Shack says? Seriously? Hit us up? Who we got?
Speaker 2 (14:14):
Marshall and Duluth. You're on the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (14:18):
What's up? Marshall?
Speaker 8 (14:19):
Yeah, I perce.
Speaker 4 (14:20):
I want to say I love the show as.
Speaker 1 (14:21):
Always, Thank you, buddy, thank you.
Speaker 9 (14:23):
No, I honestly love you guys talking about this guy.
Speaker 10 (14:26):
Literally just watched a video and in the video, the.
Speaker 11 (14:28):
Guy was saying, how oh, analysts just want to say
stuff that, you know, get people all fired up, and
that's players are always right. And I was like, what
are you talking about?
Speaker 5 (14:37):
Right?
Speaker 11 (14:38):
Like, and like, you know, sometimes people say stuff like
Tom Brady's done, you know, crazy stuff like that.
Speaker 1 (14:44):
But the thing is I was right. I didn't know
about the other stuff.
Speaker 11 (14:48):
Guy, you're right, But like the means you guys watch
more games and have seen more games than a lot
of players have.
Speaker 1 (14:55):
Yes, this is all business. This is all.
Speaker 4 (14:58):
Business exactly exactly.
Speaker 8 (15:00):
So sometimes even though he's a player and he's a great.
Speaker 11 (15:02):
Player, obviously shots one of the best, but sometimes they
just say. They also just say stuff and it's their opinions,
their heart, and you got to go, man, I respect you,
you're one of the best centers of all time, but
come on, man, you can't leave like this guy built
the path for you.
Speaker 8 (15:18):
You mean, like, why how did.
Speaker 1 (15:19):
You leave cream off? I mean that's the gregious part.
That's the worst. Thank you, Marshall.
Speaker 2 (15:26):
But Adam in DC, you're on the odd couple of
Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Adam?
Speaker 9 (15:31):
My god, my favorite radio show. Hey, look, y'all, remember
back in the day it crack was the thing in
the age that dressed the eight Now with days, now
with days, the twenty twenty five, y'all, it's a tension
and everybody's addicted the same crazy thing. And I get
it right. Sack is an athlete. He's actually my second
favorite basketball player. I know, I'm a Lakers front and
(15:52):
he likes but he says crazy stuff all the time. Man,
It's like, we're supposed to respecting my glass call and
say because a lot of these athletes had egos and
a lot of chips on their shoulders, so that he
may actually know that Kareem is the best, but he
don't want to say because he's sick. I was just like, man,
cut it out, man, the Michael posts, everybody put the
mic down. We leave it up to Rob Parker to
do the job.
Speaker 1 (16:12):
That's right.
Speaker 2 (16:12):
Turn your micah off is what I want to call
Michael Partson's podcasts.
Speaker 1 (16:17):
No Doubt is the new current. Thanks what I say?
Thanks Adam, appreciate it. Appreciate you, Adam.
Speaker 2 (16:23):
Uh call calling Mobile Alabama. You're on the odd couple
of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (16:28):
What's up? Call?
Speaker 8 (16:29):
Hey, guys, I am taking my call having to talk
to you guys in a while.
Speaker 1 (16:32):
I know where you've been, buddy. I'm glad you're still
out there.
Speaker 8 (16:36):
In my local radio station dropped the first two hours
of you guys.
Speaker 6 (16:39):
Oh we're about to know. We got we mobbing that,
we mobbing the mobile. We're about to go mobile and
mobile just rolling down.
Speaker 8 (16:47):
Roll up on them, man, because that's this is messing
me up. But anyway, Uh, these guys, they really show
their ignorance, man, it really is.
Speaker 4 (16:54):
It's it's sad.
Speaker 8 (16:55):
Now, maybe it's older people. We don't do a good
enough job of educating young people about how great the
previous athletes were. They just they just don't know. All
they know is what they they see in the last
ten or fifteen years. They don't know how great players
like elgend Baylor and Kareem work and Will who were
putting up seventy six points and thirty rebounds and stuff
in games. You know, not even one hundred points. Sixty
(17:17):
three points was like commonplace for them, and so they
just they just show their ignorance.
Speaker 2 (17:21):
It's crazy that Shaq Wouen walked past Kareem's statue out
front and just realized maybe he was okay.
Speaker 1 (17:28):
Yeah, exactly exactly.
Speaker 8 (17:29):
It's crazy. It just shows that they don't really they're
not very smart. And also I wanted to get in
on the cat thing. I was going to call and
say that, you know, I think with Karl Anthony Towns,
it does like I don't want to do anybody thing.
But it looks like he might be a little out
of shape because when he ran, it looked like it
looked like it kind of heard him to run. I
don't know if it was the physical maybe.
Speaker 1 (17:49):
Yeah, he was nursing an injury.
Speaker 6 (17:51):
They said he had an injury, right, Yeah, he was
nursing a knee issue. But I listen, I nobody said
he's walking around looking like honest. But you know, Gilbert Gilbert,
Gilbert Gilbert did it, if you know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (18:02):
Gilbert did a Gilbert Andrea in Massachusetts. You're on the
odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Drake, Hey,
how you doing?
Speaker 9 (18:11):
Thanks for taking the call.
Speaker 4 (18:12):
Listen.
Speaker 10 (18:12):
I don't have a problem with the podcast.
Speaker 8 (18:14):
I don't have a problem with Jack.
Speaker 10 (18:16):
Jack statement based on the fact that he was revealing.
Speaker 9 (18:19):
His own bias.
Speaker 10 (18:20):
I think people have a right to be themselves and
you know, give their takes, you know, and all that.
Speaker 1 (18:26):
Of course you do.
Speaker 2 (18:27):
But andre'p out, I'm sorry, you cannot be serious about
a top ten list and Kareem abdul Jabbar, who up
till two years ago was the all time leading scorer.
I mean, come on, that is such an oversighting and
and disrespectful. Come onre I hear you. But that that
(18:50):
says what that invalidates Shaq's list.
Speaker 1 (18:53):
It just does.
Speaker 10 (18:55):
And that's my point.
Speaker 5 (18:56):
Rob.
Speaker 10 (18:56):
You know that by allowing people to be their true self,
they reveal therebias. You know, you know some of the
it's a lot of personal rivalries I feel and when
you say it's outlandish that Kareem who is top five
in anybody's respectable list and he's not even in your
top ten for only centers, That's just what I like
about it is it's an insight into the individual and
(19:19):
you can see that you know, he's saying this ridiculous.
Speaker 1 (19:22):
Well, but that's what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (19:23):
But sometimes that's why it's those guys aren't the best analysts.
And I'm not talking about game analyst Kelvin. I'm talking
about like Paul Pierce, who who can't put Lebron in
the top ten and all that, right, or all the
fans Andre, all the players one hundred and fifty of
them who didn't vote for Lebron for the All Star
Game an exhibition. You might have to like the guy,
(19:46):
but is he is he one of the top twenty players?
Like seriously, they didn't vote.
Speaker 1 (19:52):
For him at all? Like, like, none of that makes
sense to me? Yeah, I could tell by the way, man,
thank you for the call.
Speaker 6 (19:59):
You could say Andre is a teacher too, the philosophical
way in which he was diving into his point.
Speaker 1 (20:04):
You know, you can tell he is a history teacher
at school. All right.
Speaker 6 (20:07):
We got Lamar Mitchell in just a minute, bet MGM
director of Training. Right now, Mancy Milanio is gonna get
your set on what's trending, hey, Bonzi.
Speaker 3 (20:14):
Yes, be sure to catch live editions of The Odd
Couple with Rob Parker and Kelvin Washington weekdays at seven
pm Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and
the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 6 (20:26):
It's The Eye Couple, Rob Parker, Kevin Washington on a
worship Wednesday. Thank you for hanging out with us as always,
and right now we're joined by Lar Mitchell, bet MGM director.
Speaker 1 (20:37):
Lamar. What's up man, what's happening?
Speaker 12 (20:40):
What's up?
Speaker 13 (20:41):
So my guys doing well.
Speaker 6 (20:43):
I want to make sure you know what's the NBA right,
what you're doing calling us in June?
Speaker 13 (20:48):
That's right this time, this wackie pointoffs that's coming down.
Speaker 1 (20:54):
To an end, no doubt.
Speaker 2 (20:56):
And then of course before you know it, we'll be
having you on every weekends we do oring football season.
But Lamar, let's just get cracking on this NBA finals.
Yahoo Sports reported this week that sports books across the
board have been cleaning up with the thunder. They can't
set the line high enough for OKAC. Is that true
and if so, does that mean you'll be rooting for
(21:18):
them in these NBA finals.
Speaker 12 (21:20):
Well, I can tell you that they've been consistent all
year long, and I'm happy for them if they do win,
because our situation.
Speaker 13 (21:32):
With OKAYC looks good. You know, we are seeing some
pacer action, but we were good both ways. So even
though the public's been on OKAC, it seems to work
itself out for us because we have a lot of
good two way actions coming in on this series.
Speaker 6 (21:48):
In this game Game one, yeah, well, let's talk about
the other team, Indiana. They are going off as high
as one hundred and fifty to one to win the title.
Speaker 1 (21:56):
Imagine if you put down a nice thousand or two, all.
Speaker 6 (21:58):
Right, and then even got his high as eighty to
one when we start the playoffs tomorrow. How big of
a liability you guys have on the Pacers right now?
Who maybe some people are high on them because the
run they're making.
Speaker 13 (22:09):
You know, that's funny.
Speaker 8 (22:09):
Today today is one of my good.
Speaker 13 (22:11):
Friends his birthdays today. He's a big Pacers.
Speaker 1 (22:14):
Fan, and he what's his name? Say his name? What's
his name?
Speaker 13 (22:18):
His name is Young Rob. We call him Young Rob
because he was a young Rob guy. We had another
guy that was old Rob.
Speaker 1 (22:24):
Okay, I think he's talking about you, Rob Parker. Go ahead.
Speaker 13 (22:30):
So yeah, the Pacers, like you said, coming as high
as one hundred and fifty late February, we knocked him
down to one hundred and twenty five and went into
the playoffs at eighty. But believe it or not, our
future book was good on him. So we we do
win more money if the thunderwin, but we're in a
(22:51):
good spot if the Pacers do win the series.
Speaker 2 (22:55):
Man, all right, So that's what you want to be
as a book. Just to follow up with Indiana, They've
turned me into a believer during these playoffs with the
up tempo style of play, all the fourth quarter comebacks.
I know I can't be the only one who's come
around on the Pacers.
Speaker 1 (23:11):
At what point did you.
Speaker 2 (23:13):
Start seeing Betters turn on, you know, on to Indiana
get turned on Indiana at the window.
Speaker 13 (23:19):
Yeah, that's a good puestion because after that first series
they started to look really good when they came up
and you know, shocked the Cabs. So we had them
as high as sixty six to one heading into that series,
and then after they got up.
Speaker 9 (23:32):
They we dropped them down to.
Speaker 13 (23:34):
Twenty or excusely gone a fifty, and then the Cavs
series really solidified the belief from the fans and the betters.
We got them as low as sixteen to one, but
we work them down from US sixty six to fifty
thirty five thirty to sixty one series. So that's basically
after that cav series or doing that series, they really
really had a lot of believers at that point.
Speaker 6 (23:55):
I mean, Justin Yabu said, they you know, they had
some great comebacks and they got some good players.
Speaker 1 (23:59):
Let me ask you about this one.
Speaker 6 (24:01):
A lot of people have having a conversation, including Rob
and I, about how this might be a low viewed
NBA Finals. Expectations are low and so you know they
don't have any marquee brands with this or big markets.
Speaker 1 (24:11):
Is that hurting the betting?
Speaker 6 (24:13):
Are teams like, oh, there's no Knicks, there's no Lakers,
there's no Warriors.
Speaker 3 (24:16):
Is it?
Speaker 1 (24:16):
Did it hurt the ticket numbers as far as quantity.
Speaker 13 (24:21):
As far as quantity since you know we're gonna see
tomorrow what happens. You know, usually NBA with the first game,
that means on a Thursday. Obviously you get a team
in there like the Lakers, it doesn't matter when they play.
We're so close to La that everybody has to come
up and bet the Lakers. So yeah, obviously with the
team like OKAC and Indiana, it's a little bit different.
(24:44):
But I mean as far as money, we took a
large seventh figure bet today on the pacer or on
the OKC to win this series. So money is still
coming in. It's just a matter of when is it
going to come in. And I still into that they
see in some big bets and the ticket count to
be up tomorrow. Once again we get closer to five thirty.
Speaker 2 (25:06):
Our guests is Lamar Mitchell of course bet MGM, director
of Trading, joining us here on the odd couple in
the worship Wednesday, Are you accepting like Jerry Cows and
producers Well at the window on Miskin.
Speaker 13 (25:23):
Well, you know they don't they have a coun sitting
in those areas.
Speaker 1 (25:27):
Yeah, I'm just guessing. I'm not sure, all right.
Speaker 2 (25:30):
Earlier in this show, we talked about how okay See
opened up as minus eight hundred favorites right to win
the series at several shops in number would have made
when the fifth largest favorites in NBA Finals history. Does
that spread say more about the Thunder or the Pacers.
Speaker 13 (25:47):
Oh, it definitely says more about the Thunder. I mean
they were one of the you know, outside of Cleveland.
They had the best record, you know, the best record
in the entire league. And I think that, if I'm
not mistaken, I think the record in the East might
have been like twenty nine and one, twenty eight one. Well,
they got SGA clicking and off ceel owners. I mean,
(26:08):
they got the MVP, and the fact that they're not
playing the number one seed from the East really says
more about OKAC and why that number, that series number
is so high.
Speaker 6 (26:19):
Well, let's stay on that a little bit, you know,
And I know there's not like an actual answer, Lamar
you can give us, but let's do a little fun
hypothetical right now. So if ok see was what we
know everything you just described this year and I had
to go, let's say your two thousand and one, twenty eighteen,
the ninety the twenty one, two thousand and one Lakers,
you got the twenty eighteen Warriors, ninety six Bulls, maybe
even the ninety nine Spurs. How would they favor against
(26:42):
those other great teams.
Speaker 13 (26:45):
I think, you know, all those other great teams that
you mentioned, I think they'd be you know, they're they're
all had their dominant players and they were flashy. The
only one that I think where it will be a
closer spread would be against his Spurs, even though you
know they had Duncan and Robinson, but they weren't flashy,
(27:06):
you know, mister the big.
Speaker 1 (27:08):
Fundamental big fundamentals right, absolutely.
Speaker 13 (27:11):
Never flashy, and you know, and that was his team.
And then you throw those guys against this okay See
team that might be the only series and that's just
that's just cosmetic cosmetically speaking, because you have one team
that's got a guy that's sca that's flashy, that can
he can pull the mid range game, the outside game,
(27:32):
and you have another guy that's just a quiet, low
post guy that just does what he has to do.
So I think out of those those teams that you mentioned,
definitely the Spurs to ninety nine Spurs that it might
be a close matchup. But I think the other teams
with what they had and the name and the main value,
that definitely the okay See would be a big dog
against these.
Speaker 2 (27:53):
Guys, all right, lamar, let's just get the game one. Okay, okay,
so opened up as nine point favorites. That number since
move to Okay see nine and a half. Both teams
look very impressive in the conference finals, and both teams
are coming in well rested.
Speaker 1 (28:08):
What kind of action are you seeing in this game?
Speaker 2 (28:11):
And uh, are the Pros and the Joe's on the
same page, because I look at this and think, uh,
if I'm betting my money, I'm betting on at the
Pacers all day in game one. If a team's gonna
steal one game, like in a mismatch, it's usually game one.
I remember when the Sixers beat the Lakers in game
one with Alan iverson uh and and the and okayse
(28:35):
he's been off for a while.
Speaker 1 (28:36):
I would take the Pacers in this.
Speaker 9 (28:38):
Yeah, rober, your theory would hold up.
Speaker 13 (28:41):
And with the betting habits that we're seeing, I mean, really,
right now, for a team that's the number one seed
and looks has looked so dominant, the ticket count is
just it's even, it's even seeing.
Speaker 1 (28:53):
I believe it.
Speaker 13 (28:54):
I believe it, yeah, absolutely, And the Joe's the Pros
haven't been on this game yet they have not been
on the game. Like I said, we've taken some large
seventh figure bets on the series, but those are big, big,
big casino players, and we've taken some six some high
five figure bets on this game. So that's why the
money is about four to one in favor of the
(29:18):
Thunder here in this game. But as far as ticket count,
it's it's even. And you know, I expect to get
a nine and a half. That's the juicey number, you
know in the NBA because you've seen what the Pacers
are able to do at the end of the game.
Speaker 1 (29:32):
All right, we'll get you out here on this one, Lamar.
Speaker 6 (29:34):
You know much has been made going into this series, right,
you're talking about the number one offense. You got the
number one defense in the Thunder and so let's talk
to total. It's holding pretty strong right now, about two
thirty and a half. So it kind of sounds like
folks are betting on the fact that there will be
a high scoring game. Who's that favorite the Indiana And
what's the action you've seeing right now in the total?
Speaker 13 (29:53):
Oh definitely, you know with this total, you're right, the
public is all over this total totals over two to
one and money and two to one and ticket counts.
Who does it favor? You know, the Pacers like to
play up tempo, but the Thunder they can play up
timpo two. So you know, I have to say the
(30:14):
total it's gonna be one of those games. It's just
playground basketball up and down the court, and I don't
see it slowing down until the last two minutes of
the first of the shooting of the game. And I
think this total over. The betters are looking at the
Thunder here with this total going over, all right.
Speaker 6 (30:33):
Well, what's gonna be a good one. Hopefully the series
will be great. Lamar, I appreciate you man, Thank you, buddy.
We'll talk soon.
Speaker 13 (30:39):
Okay, you guys enjoyed the summer. I'll talk to you
in the fall.
Speaker 6 (30:42):

looking forward to what happens with the series starting tomorrow.

Speaker 4 (32:56):

Trevor Lawrence bomb CJ Stroud Bomb and Seve Richardson Danny
Times bomb C. Cam Warren is the best quarterback in
the ANFC South. What are you all thinking about that?
Speaker 1 (33:11):
Where are you from? From New York City?
Speaker 6 (33:16):
Okay? I knew it, rob That's what I mean. There's
no other reason that he would say this. Didn't that
That's that's all Stroud.
Speaker 2 (33:24):
That would be like that would be like somebody saying
that the Lines were going to beat the Washington Commanders
in the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (33:30):
I'm sorry, go ahead. That would be hey.
Speaker 6 (33:35):
That would be like you imagine may Aaron Judge fumbling
balls in the Fit.
Speaker 1 (33:40):
To Do with Me?
Speaker 6 (33:41):
I know, Yankee fan, Robgie, Robgie, why he tell M
I think his last day when he retired, he'll finally
admit it, Robgie, I'm not even there, and I see
you smile.
Speaker 1 (33:50):
Rob G.
Speaker 2 (33:51):
I am not a Yankee fan. I grew up in
Queen's I've told you that.
Speaker 6 (33:55):
How to ask you where you grew up? I said,
who you're a fan of?
Speaker 1 (33:58):
Ask you Bron Parker of the show. Guys.
Speaker 5 (34:00):
I know we got the show, but could we get
the Yankees right here on this TV?
Speaker 1 (34:04):
I want to watch.
Speaker 6 (34:05):
Hey, that man don't even say hi, tou was yet
before he wants to put the Yankees up? What do
you don't let Aaron Judge be up to that bat boy.
I'm telling you, I don't see nothing but the back
of his head. I'll be like, yeah, Rob, I'm trying
to Rob.
Speaker 1 (34:16):
Hello.
Speaker 6 (34:16):
We having a great spirited debate here, Rob, Rob Right, Yeah,
I'm sorry.
Speaker 1 (34:20):
Oh I'm sorry. Yeah, I didn't hear you. I'm sorry. Aaron.
What you know, hey, rob G?
Speaker 6 (34:26):
You know that famous picture of Wolverine looking at a picture. Yeah,
that's Rob looking at a picture of Aaron Judge at
night before he goes to bet.
Speaker 1 (34:34):
He tucks it. He tucks the picture in the bed
nine night, Aaron Judge. That's MLB bro the year Aaron Judge. Right,
that's right, Got he just got that. That's right, Rob.
When's the last time you bet against the New York Yankees.
Speaker 2 (34:52):
I'm trying to remember. I would say nineteen eighty two
years ago. Maybe, Hey, Rob, g Alex, it's so bad.
Had he stuck to his gut, he would have won.
He said, the Dodger You know why I changed because
they're pitching, and you noticed, Bo, the pitching was so
(35:13):
jacked up. Bow's over and the other other side of
the glass. That's what made me change my mind. I
didn't think they had enough pitching. I went on MLB
Network and said that's why I changed. I would look
at the pitching and had the Yankees one game five,
they might have won the World.
Speaker 5 (35:26):
Seri, Rob, I don't think you should use Bo as
a reference point because he just told me that his
next Dodgers podcast episode is him ripping you for your take?
Speaker 1 (35:34):
Is he ye?
Speaker 2 (35:35):
Are you really going, Oh my god? What's the name
of that podcast?
Speaker 1 (35:41):
Say it? It's at Monti's on it too.
Speaker 2 (35:43):
If you what's the name of the podcast, say it
The Dodger Zone, I think is what it's called.
Speaker 1 (35:49):
Yes, the Dodger Zone.
Speaker 2 (35:50):
I never missed the Dodgers as you should. All right,
bo I gotta hear this rip job. You know he's
gonna ripped me because I think that Otana should drop
in the batting order. Nokay, no, No, why are you
gonna fix something that's not broken?
Speaker 1 (36:06):
It is broken. He has Oh it's not him has
more RBIs than home runs. It's not the bottom. The
bottom of the lineup has not been great.
Speaker 5 (36:15):
And also Mooki has struggled, So why am I put
more pressure on him to lead off?
Speaker 1 (36:20):
Ain't trying to hear him trying to make sense.
Speaker 2 (36:23):
Mooki is struggling. Put him back to where he was,
is not knocking in and he runs. He has thirty
nine RBI and twenty three home runs. It's ridiculous.
Speaker 1 (36:33):
Then he would have less at bats. That makes no sense.
Speaker 2 (36:35):
No, it does if you're getting more, if you're getting
more production from him. He went from one hundred and
thirty nine one hundred and thirty rb I's you're gonna
have like eighty this year.
Speaker 6 (36:43):
But it's not him.
Speaker 1 (36:44):
It's the you gonna have how.
Speaker 6 (36:46):
Many what rock he's gonna have? How many what rb I?
I thought it was RBIs No it's not.
Speaker 1 (36:53):
You know what, You're gonna get pimp slapped. When I
said why why are you? I couldn't hear you? All right?
What is tomorrow? Tomorrow? A Thursday? You know where I'm
going tomorrow before the show. Actually, don't know where you're going. Yeah,
we got a little Mets Dodgers one one test star. Oh,
(37:15):
I have to be there.
Speaker 2 (37:17):
And then I'm speaking to students USC students we're gonna
be at They have an iHeart conference at am twelve am,
five seventy tomorrow. Do you know about that? Yeah, that's
that's something that's going on. So I'm actually a speaker tomorrow.
So I'm gonna go do the Dodgers and Mets, go
to iHeart nice in Burbank, and then come do the radio,
(37:40):
this fine radio show.
Speaker 5 (37:41):
You know there's somebody driving in right now, like home
from work. And then I'm paying one hundred thousand dollars
to USC to have Rob Parker be the guest speaker
for my kids class.
Speaker 1 (37:49):
What are you kidding me? Right now? They'll say, it's
so much knowledge. I just spoke to some other kids.
Someone's like, ask him, ask him about Tom Brady. Okay,
ask them Ann Rogers. Oh God, remind him that Lebron's
the goat. Yes, that will not be the topic of conversation.
Speaker 2 (38:07):
But anyway, TV theme song Thursday tomorrow, and you got
anything special going on other than waking up in the
morning and reading the news.
Speaker 1 (38:16):
No, we got the Thursday.
Speaker 6 (38:17):
Well, yeah, you know, mag shout out to my daughter Cameron.
She'd be graduating from kindergarten marrow. So I'm gonna shoot
out of there from the news and get to my
baby baby Cam.
Speaker 1 (38:26):
I call her killer care. Oh very nice. Tell her
mousl talk. I will, because I'll tell her that came
from and go like, what what'd you say? Mozel?
Speaker 6 (38:34):
Now, my kids you know well versed, you know you
know what I'm saying, and you know the large portion
of the Bible is Jewish, and I'll tell.
Speaker 1 (38:42):
Her from her black Jewish uncle Uncle Rob. There you go,
Uncle Rob, Uncle rob Stein. Just do it like that.
The Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon is coming up next.
I never miss your radio show. I never hear it,
so I never miss it. Did you hear that
