a couple of people at the Spectrum News one out

kind of putting the boy.

Speaker 2 (01:27):

(02:18):
You'd always say, did you read USA Today Today? It
was always like, we're kind of weird, dude.

Speaker 4 (02:23):
So I do a show called LA Times Today Today, though,
so I have to do the pre what I'm doing new, Hey,
be sure to check out LA Times Today Today tonight.
It's at airs at night, So I say LA Times
Today tonight, right right, which is pretty weird. That throws
me people off. Yeah, we got the new show tonight
LA Times Today, but it's tonight.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
All right.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
We want to get and of course last call. If
you weren't able to get it earlier in the program,
you can have an opportunity at the end of the
show as always. But here's the thing. Last night, Golden
State won, but we talked about it. They had a
big twenty point lead. They they're going to I thought
they were gonna coll ight and couple of plays in
a couple of situations and they they might have and

(03:03):
it might not have worked out.

Speaker 4 (03:05):
Aaron Judge home run, I was gonna interrupt you while
he was up. There was three three bottom of the
seventh here against the Royals, and Aaron Judge just went ahead.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
And the way, Yeah, yep, there it is all rising
in the Bronx. I don't know if you knew this.
He's pretty good at baseball. Pretty good when you when
you compared your numbers to Baby.

Speaker 4 (03:24):
I just don't know. We talked about it like a
week or two ago. Just give it a show hating
him already. Just just give it to those.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
Two guys are going to be around for the next
few years. But yeah, he just put the Yankees ahead
four to three in the bottom of the seventh.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
Pretty good at baseball.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
I was just saying, they like they're gonna blow the game.
They wind up winning the game. Some mistakes obviously at
the end, can't.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
Bound the ball.

Speaker 4 (03:50):
Maybe if John Moran doesn't twist his ankle because he
had to sit out about a three minute stretch.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
And that and that hurt them.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
Yeah, But anyway, the point is, you still weren't that
impressed by the victory and when you look at because
I said this going into the playoffs, and who else
did we have one the other day who said the
same thing.

Speaker 2 (04:07):
What was the point about?

Speaker 1 (04:09):
You don't want to go into the playoffs like that
Eddie House and that they lost to the Spurs without
their two stars, and then they couldn't beat the Clippers.
Not that the Clippers are a bad team, but that
was a game that was a big game. It was
at home.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
Draymond makes a.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
Layup, right, you're at home, You're not in a player
like that was a big game to me. And they
lost both of them, and then they didn't look that
great to you, did they No?

Speaker 2 (04:34):
So here's the thing though they looked to me.

Speaker 4 (04:37):
What made me gonna go ah is because I think
that might have been their best case scenario, and their
best case scenario wasn't that great. And what I mean
by that is, I don't know if I'm getting Steph
Curry putting up thirty seven fifteen in the fourth. Jimmy
Butler was in one of the more efficient thirty eight
point games you'll see.

Speaker 1 (04:57):
But he did have a lot of free throws. I
was looking at that, but that's fine. Playoffs are about that.

Speaker 4 (05:02):
And then to go seventy five points or so from
those guys and then to barely win, you know, and
it wasn't like John went crazy and had forty or
fifty on you to me. I watched them and I
was like, that's what Jimmy's there for. Jimmy is deficient,
jim playoff Jimmy or playing Jimmy in this case is
gonna be a steadying force.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
He was perfect.

Speaker 4 (05:21):
If Steph had this period, the third period where he
wasn't doing anything, shout out to Scottie Pippen Junior. Play
some great defense on him for a while there. And
that's why you bring in a Jimmy Butler, Right, hey,
I need some help. I can't do this all by myself.
If you're Steph and if you're Steve Kerr, remember it
was rough during the season. He was like, Steph is tired. Okay,
he's trying to do everything by hisself. We don't have anything.

(05:42):
These young guys aren't stepping up.

Speaker 1 (05:44):
It's hard to look at the at the Wars now
and think back to how bad they were at one point.

Speaker 2 (05:51):
And they were really bad.

Speaker 4 (05:52):
I mean they were literally like, is this the end
for Steph? Is he gonna go out like this is
his career gonna end? Is he never gonna make the
postseason again? Those are real conversations and the reason and
so I bring this up to say, Jimmy came in
and did exactly what you hoped he would do. But
as I watched it, I went, oh, and this is
why I didn't fully bother it. I knew they are
already tough out. And listen, they're gonna get the next
round they play the Rocket, it's gonna be a tough

(06:12):
out because they just have championship pedigree. Uh, you know
some of the team members, and obviously Jimmy being to
a finals and he's just tough. He's he's a real
hard player. But I went, that's just not enough because
I had to get a perfect game from Jimmy. You know,
ste gonna get that. I'm not gonna get fifteen and
the fourth every night. And I really looked at like,
who's the third option. Draymond is gonna be Drayman's gonna

(06:34):
be good on the defensive end. He'll make a few
nice back door cut passes, and he'll also blow some
blow some Land's gonna he's gonna, you know, shoot some
horrible threes at times. And and but I'm like, then,
who is it? And what is up with Kaminga? Did
he slap Steve kurz kid or something. He went from
being a piece stills playing where you go, Man, he's

(06:54):
so athletic, you keep man, he one day's gonna click out,
one day is gonna click for him, one days gonna
click for him. Ooh, he was nice tonight, he had
twenty two and now he's DNPS. He's not even playing,
he's not getting limited minutes. No, he's not even playing.

Speaker 2 (07:07):
He's not even a sweat.

Speaker 4 (07:09):
So to me, you lose an X factor of a
guy who's athletic, who can all of a sudden have
a random twenty twenty five point night.

Speaker 2 (07:15):
And if you're.

Speaker 4 (07:15):
Losing that and I'm relying on Moody and Pajinski, to me,
I'm like, oh, that's just not enough, because now I'm
relying on Jimmy to give me thirty thirty eight a night,
Steph to go thirty something plus a night in fifteen
to fourth every night just to barely win.

Speaker 2 (07:29):
So I watched him. It was an entertaining game.

Speaker 4 (07:31):
The stars came to play, Jock came to play his
beste kid Baines was looking really nice, Triple j was
doing his thing. But I went and said, Okay, this
is why they're not the Warriors. Of past, because I
can't rely on Jimmy to do that every single night
and Steph to do that every single night and think
that's a viable way of winning some series. So to me,

(07:52):
it was it was what you hope for in a
sense of competitive game. Jimmy starr and he balled. They went,
that's not enough, right, and that ain't enough to make
me go they can beat the Lakers, they can beat Okay. See,
you know, I don't even think they beat the Clippers.

Speaker 1 (08:06):
Because because really when you think about even in that,
when you think about the Warriors, right, the only reason
why you even would think they'd have a chance against
okay see, it's because of experience, not because there are
better ten that that that's the only reason why you
would question okay see beating them. That's the reason why

(08:28):
like but but not basketball are not the players involved, right.

Speaker 2 (08:33):
They have too many people, they're too deep, they have
guys that they don't play defense, play defense.

Speaker 1 (08:40):
And so when you look at that, and I'm with you,
you know, I'm not high on the Warriors anyway, even
with them getting Jimmy Butler, Oh you don't want to
see them? Oh you know, here we go they're gonna
make that run. No, Draymond is not the same.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
He could be, just like he frustrates me at times
specific offensively, he's not the same.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
And then you you're asking for a lot from Stephan Jimmy,
they gona get you, what eighty or ninety points a
night to win like comfortably? Like that's just you're right.
Can you count on that every night? No, you cannot
count on that. Who's even in the playoffs? Who's their
Austin Reeves?

Speaker 2 (09:18):
You know who is there? Drew Holliday.

Speaker 4 (09:21):
Well, the Celtics got five guys who you know, Pritchard,
any Knight can be that third guy, Al Horford. I mean,
they're they're loaded over there, they got but we're doing
all this. They don't even talking about Bazingis yet, you
know what I mean, because he's been at remember, yeah,
like they have too much over there.

Speaker 2 (09:34):
But like, who's that guy for them? You know what
I mean? Who is their bains?

Speaker 4 (09:39):
If it's Triple J and John, Like, who is their
third guy? And that's my concern is that dude, Steph
got to put up thirty five a night. He can't
have a twenty two point night, you know, Jimmy Butler's
gonna have to do that. I'm like it, And where's
that gonna come from? And I just don't think Moody
Pazhenski and some of the other loony looney doesn't even
he's not even really a factor anymore. You're not playing Kminga.
A couple of years ago, he was. For sure, Absolutely,

(10:01):
it was annoyingly good.

Speaker 2 (10:02):
He was a part of that team big time.

Speaker 4 (10:05):
I might only get eight points, but they're gonna be
the most annoying eight points. If you're the other team,
it's gonna be the most opportune time for the Warriors.

Speaker 2 (10:10):
So I just saw it.

Speaker 4 (10:11):
I was like, Wow, this this is what you brought
Jimmy in for. Jimmy showed up playoff slash playing. Jimmy
was there, But I still went, like I thought all along,
it's just not gonna be enough.

Speaker 1 (10:24):
And remember even their run with Jimmy. When you pull
back the curtain a little bit and you look at
them teams that they played a lot of SOB five hundreds,
and those were the teams that they feasted on. And
I'm not mad at you. You gotta beat those teams
are in front of you. But it does say, maybe
they're not as good as we thought. Oh when they
got Jimmy, they were rolling. They win all these games,

(10:46):
they were fifteen and three. Oh yeah they were. But
they didn't bleed up a lot of good teams. And
that's the problem.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
So I'm with you.

Speaker 4 (10:53):
Yeah, you brought a good point, though they're gonna you.
You're going to have to beat them because the only
thing Steph know, Draymond Nose and some of those guys
who have been there for a few years and Steve Kirk,
they're going to play hard, right, They're gonna lay it
all on the line if they're gonna die on their
shield and their sword, you know what I mean. Meaning
they're not gonna just give it to you, So you

(11:13):
gotta beat them. But talent wise, I look at him,
I go, ah, it's just not enough.

Speaker 2 (11:17):
I think they're beatable. I really do.

Speaker 1 (11:19):
I think the only respect that they're getting is based
off of their history, pedigree, history and what they've done,
you know, And that's why people can't let it go.
It was almost and I brought this up to you,
and you know I said it before, but it was
the reason if you really look honestly at the Chiefs

(11:40):
and the Eagles, honestly, because the Eagles was so much
better than the Chiefs.

Speaker 2 (11:49):
Do you know what I mean? Exactly?

Speaker 1 (11:53):
But people were saying what everybody say, we interviewed them.
I can't go against the Chiefs. I can't go against Patrick,
you know what. That's a compliment though, to me, that's
you earned that. That's like the Nies.

Speaker 2 (12:02):
It's like, man, I ain't been against they come on,
they didn't.

Speaker 1 (12:04):
But that's what this is with the Warriors, Like people
are still giving them their respect, and I understand because
of their resume, but it's not based on the team
they have it. Really, it really isn't no all right?
Eight seven seven ninety nine Off Fox eight seven seven

Speaker 2 (12:30):

Speaker 1 (12:32):
Steph and Draymond and Jimmy Buckets finally get his uh
his ring? Are they got a real running them or not?

How are you?

Speaker 3 (14:21):
Man?

Speaker 4 (14:22):
Hey?

Speaker 5 (14:22):
Listen.

Speaker 6 (14:23):
I saw Jimmy by the play here in Minnesota when
he was here, and uh, you know, at the wrong time,
he kind of stepped on to uh, what's Carl Anthony
Towns was?

Speaker 7 (14:33):
You know, he gets injured sometimes and and he kind
of let into him, you know, talking not so respectful,
and uh, I worry about that just because you guys have.

Speaker 6 (14:44):
Said they won a couple of tough games that they
should have, you know, walked away from with a better victory.
And if that's the move going forward, if they hit
me any rock bottom hard times, I think Bubba's gonna
gonna get temperament him or him or the big guy.
What's your name?

Speaker 3 (15:03):
You know?

Speaker 2 (15:04):
Raymond?

Speaker 6 (15:05):
Yeah, yeah, I think he's gonna be some tempers going.
That's that's mind what I gotta said.

Speaker 1 (15:09):
Okay, appreciate the call, Mario, Thank you, sir. What about
Craig in Texas? You're on the couple of Fox.

Speaker 2 (15:15):
What's radio? What's up, Craig, Craig? Are you there? Come on, Craig.
You ain't got the line to kick it? Yeah, go ahead, Craig.

Speaker 5 (15:25):
How are you?

Speaker 4 (15:27):
Man?

Speaker 5 (15:28):
What is it?

Speaker 8 (15:30):
Trey?

Speaker 2 (15:31):
Trey in Texas? That's why you didn't answer? Okay, what's up?
Buddy one?

Speaker 3 (15:36):
Doing?

Speaker 2 (15:36):
Good man?

Speaker 5 (15:38):
Good man?

Speaker 8 (15:39):
I think yeah, they can make it Manigga's uh.

Speaker 6 (15:43):
They gotta be more. They gotta be more consistent, get
success and rest at times.

Speaker 2 (15:47):
But how do you do that?

Speaker 4 (15:48):
There lost my question, Trey? How do I do that
when I don't have any other real resource? Like, Okay,
Jimmy's doing his thing, but Draymond is not gonna be
offensive factor? That not playing kminga Like, who am I
depending on to get hit me some buckets?

Speaker 6 (16:02):
What's what's the name?

Speaker 4 (16:03):
That's the point what's his name, Moody Pazinski. Yeah, man,
if you're relying on him night in, night out, come on?

Speaker 5 (16:14):
Can I have to then?

Speaker 2 (16:15):
Come on, have a seat, Come on, y'all, come have
a seat, sit next to me. Watch your three can't
coon eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox? What about
Sean in Sacramento. You're in the couple of Fox Sports Radio.
What's up, Sean?

Speaker 8 (16:30):
Yeah, my uncle from a dozen mothers killsn that my
brother's behind the ball. That last calling was over there
sounding like Elijah with when DJA when DJ Alex Tyscher
starts dropping it?

Speaker 3 (16:42):
Who is it? I know? Right?

Speaker 6 (16:44):
Come on, man, the Warriors, These.

Speaker 8 (16:47):
Warriors got bailed out by the referees. There's no way
in heck you should have lost that twenty point lead
with a team that was missing John for a good
portion with an ankle injury, and when you're only playing
six guys on that squad. Man, these guys are foolghazy
without those bad five second calls, without those bad found
calls that those rest were trying to push on them.

(17:07):
Do that Adam Silver, mister softy trying to get him
to that next round. There's no way that they're doing
that in the next round. Man, these guys are a
bunch of fooghazy guys. And when Steph turns back into
that plumpkin missing all those clutch shots, Rob Park will
be back on the air just like his dog with
his dollar bills and baby Oi, letting y'all know that
he's been told you all, this guy he's the best
shooter of all time. Come on, Rod, there it is.

Speaker 4 (17:28):
Was with you all the way, Sean to you said
he ain't the best, He's still the best shot. Set
it down, Sean.

Speaker 1 (17:33):
Toll, the doll with the baby or everybody. Everybody's just
like Elijah. Elijah did his thing on that. Elijah sent
me mine. He already made that. Sorry, but you gotta
send it to me. Okay, Brandon and Riverside, California, you're
in the eye couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (17:47):
What up be? He's that? Maybe his name ain't Brandon,
maybe it's Fred There it.

Speaker 6 (17:54):
Is Hell, I'm here you what's up?

Speaker 5 (18:00):
I thought I got kicked all like, oh man.

Speaker 6 (18:02):
They hit the hung up on me. But no, the Warriors, Yeah,
I mean we all know that the only person they
really have is Steph Curry. Nobody's really expecting him to
do too much.

Speaker 4 (18:12):
Wait wait, wait, why are you disrespecting Jimmy like that?
They're not like Jimmy ain't had thirty eight last night.

Speaker 5 (18:17):
That's true.

Speaker 8 (18:18):
I'm not just I liked them.

Speaker 6 (18:19):
But the Warriors problem is, man, I don't know why
they don't play Kamina. That's that's two games in the
row that he didn't play.

Speaker 8 (18:27):
So I'm like, in my mind, I don't like if
he doesn't play in Houston, they probably.

Speaker 6 (18:31):
Gonna get swept.

Speaker 1 (18:32):
Yeah, I'm sure they probably put him in now, but
that he's I don't know, he's a doghouse.

Speaker 2 (18:37):
Like what happened?

Speaker 5 (18:38):
I don't know that.

Speaker 6 (18:39):
I'm like you all, like, did he did he? Did
he tam him?

Speaker 5 (18:41):
Did he tell him to shut up?

Speaker 6 (18:43):
Or don't don't change my game.

Speaker 2 (18:45):
I don't he slapped somebody wife or something, because what
the heck? No doubt thanks for the call.

Speaker 4 (18:52):
I mean, dude, for him to not get any man's
rob is strange, Like he's kind of a wild card
for them X factor, you know what I mean? A
guy who can come in and get to twenty minutes
and again some nineties on some nights and you want
a little bit more, but to not play him at all.

Speaker 2 (19:06):
It's pretty strange. It's crazy.

Speaker 8 (19:07):
Mike.

Speaker 1 (19:08):
Yeah, in Houston. You're on the couple of Fox Sports Radio.
What up, Mike, How you doing h time?

Speaker 5 (19:18):
Yes?

Speaker 6 (19:19):
Talking about the Warriors.

Speaker 8 (19:21):
Do you think the Rockets have a chance to beat
the Warriors?

Speaker 2 (19:24):
Sure?

Speaker 1 (19:24):
I do?

Speaker 2 (19:27):
Okay, Okay, I mean I like Kevin Durant came through, right.

Speaker 5 (19:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (19:33):
It's a seven games series, so they gotta beat him.

Speaker 5 (19:35):
Four times, so I get that.

Speaker 2 (19:37):
But I'm just saying, Uh, the Rockets have a really
good coach, young, energetic you.

Speaker 4 (19:43):
Just mentioned it. Rob They get is a good to
great coach. Chagoon is going to be a problem. But
also they're going to dream out him, dream out of him?
Are gonna fop that?

Speaker 3 (19:53):
Dude?

Speaker 2 (19:53):
That's gonna be crazy.

Speaker 9 (19:54):
Did I miss something or the Warriors the higher seat
in this matchup?

Speaker 2 (19:57):
Right? That's what I'm trying to I saw.

Speaker 9 (19:58):
Earlier too, like him, the the Rockets upset the words
and will know it would be the other way around,
you dude.

Speaker 1 (20:04):
And that's what I was talking about earlier in that
if it wasn't for the respect of the Warriors, resume
you think, right, you think that they're the favorite or
they're the top seed over them.

Speaker 2 (20:15):
No, juston did business all year. And this is a team.

Speaker 4 (20:19):
By the way, with the Rockets, it's not as if
like they snuck in like they with the two seed.
I'm not saying they're a two seed by far, because
obviously we know how cro Oud of the West was,
but they are two seed. They have a bunch of
talent and the difference between them and the Warriors, and
now this the Warriors can say our difference is experience.

Speaker 2 (20:37):
We've been there.

Speaker 4 (20:37):
We have Steph, we have Jimmy who's you know, playoff guy,
and obviously Draymond Championship. But the rock I'm sorry, the
Rockets have depth. They throw a bunch of guys at you.
A bunch of guys. I mean Jabari Smith Jr. Nobody
talking about him. He's a quality player. Amin Thompson is
a star in the making. Chagoon is an All Star
Calder guy, Jalen Green an All Star Calper guy.

Speaker 3 (20:58):
Like they.

Speaker 2 (20:59):
Fred van Vliet is a champion, he already won.

Speaker 4 (21:02):
He's got experience and he can help those young guys out. Yes,
so they have just a bunch of guys they throw
at you in ways. Not again, I absolutely believe the
Warriors will win a game.

Speaker 2 (21:12):
Maybe too.

Speaker 4 (21:12):
They'll be in this thing because again, Steph, I'm picking
Houston series. Yeah, I'm gonna pick Houston in this series.
But I'm saying the Warriors absolutely could get a game.
It's just because again, experience have been there, and Steph
might have a game where he just goes crazy and
hit twelve threes. But everybody's acting like the Rockets don't
have a lot of talent and that they have a
lot of beating a lot of people now to see
and to beat the Warriors. It's not as if they,

(21:33):
you know, they beat the Thunder. We're not saying this
is the Western Conference championship. They just gotta beat the Warriors,
all right, real.

Speaker 2 (21:40):
Quick, Allen Colorado, Yes you're on the couple of Fox
Sports Radio. What's up?

Speaker 5 (21:47):
What up?

Speaker 8 (21:47):
Man?

Speaker 2 (21:47):
Big fans, big fan you, thank you, appreciate.

Speaker 5 (21:50):
You, the MVP. I'm gonna say that real quick.

Speaker 8 (21:53):
Also, there stop what the Warriors love? Please, they're too old,
they're too broke.

Speaker 5 (22:00):
It's the Rockets.

Speaker 8 (22:01):
Time, ain't no way in a h double hockey stick. Well,
the Warriors met the Rockets.

Speaker 2 (22:06):
I don't think they'll beat the meat.

Speaker 5 (22:08):
I'm with you.

Speaker 4 (22:08):
I'm with you. I expect the Rockets to win this series.
Appreciate the call h e double hockey stick. I ain't
said that in a minute. That was a good one
right there. All right, we got our guy, Tyler Dragon's
gonna join us in a little bit USA today, NFL writer.
We do have a draft that's happening in about a week,
and we still got some NFL story headlines, some movement,
and some things have happened over the last few days.

(22:30):
It is the odd couple, Rob and Kelvin on a
worship Wednesday, and we're coming to live for the Tirereck
dot Com Studios. We have our guests now, Tyler Dragon.
Get ready to go to him in a little bit
USA today, NFL writer will talk some NFL with him.
Get closer and closer to the draft a week away
from tomorrow. Yankees, the Yank guy win. The Yankees win

(22:51):
a great save their outfield catch Cody Bellinger.

Speaker 1 (22:55):
That that was amazing, extending the opposite way of his
body right, the one right.

Speaker 4 (23:01):
He's played for some the Dodgers, the Cubs, the Yankees,
anybody else. He went to notock out a big franchise.

Speaker 2 (23:06):
But it was the game.

Speaker 1 (23:07):
It's a two out diving catch to the Royals had
a man on second, that would have definitely tied the game.

Speaker 2 (23:14):
He was going, Yeah, he was.

Speaker 1 (23:16):
That was that was a big time playing, a big
time catch and Yankee sweep the Royals in that series.

Speaker 2 (23:21):
Those games are all close, but the Yankees won all
of them. Yep, and Aaron judge about uh was the
seventh inning, bobom the seventh.

Speaker 1 (23:28):
Three got a home run and it and it ended
he had a drought. He hadn't hit a home run
in ten games.

Speaker 2 (23:34):
So he gets ok, they're talking finally getting it back.

Speaker 1 (23:37):
Yeah, so he's got seven now. But remember he's so
hot to start the season, but he had a home
run in ten games.

Speaker 2 (23:43):
Yeah, he'll go through. That's the fourteen home runs and
forty career games versus roy Yeah.

Speaker 4 (23:47):
Apparently that's a lot. That's apparently he likes playing the Royals. Uh,
we'll get to him in just a minute. But yeah,
I just finished to finish my thought. I just again,
I absolutely believe that Steph Curry one thousand percent, just
like it would be Sga or Luca or you know, Lebron,
like you I'm gonna putting down pencil that person in
for a game, like they're gonna have a game where

(24:07):
we go.

Speaker 2 (24:08):
That's why he's one of them, you know. But I'm like, man,
the Rockets do they if they didn't have Idoka as
a coach. I just think people they look at teams
like they don't want to believe in Houston. They don't
want to believe. See, okay, Cleveland, they don't want to
believe in Cleveland. Like these teams have played well all
year in Cleveland. Atkinson's a good coach, and I'm comfortable

(24:30):
what I mean.

Speaker 1 (24:31):
Yeah, I'm not saying that they go we should stamp
them automatically that they're gonna win the championship, But to
discount them.

Speaker 4 (24:37):
Just because and they beat everybody, that's the thing. You
don't win if they're you wont forty eight games and
you only beat the good bad teams. That dude these
says sixty plus games. That means you beat everybody, Western Conference,
Eastern Conference, good teams, bad teams.

Speaker 2 (24:50):
And so I could understand that.

Speaker 1 (24:52):
Game we saw we were doing a show, and remember
they were getting beat by Boston and the Cavs came
all way back and they did that without Donovan Mitchell
in Boston. You remember that it was without Donovan Mitchell.
If I'm not mistaken, Yeah, I remember us going what yeah, listen,
And that's why. Again I'm not saying it's a sweep
of the Warriors, but I just watched that game and

(25:13):
I'm like, man, this is a perfect scenario. Thirty eight,
thirty seven from Jimmy and and and Steph, fifteen to
fourth from Steven. I'm like, dude, like, that's not That's
not an every night thing, you know what I mean.
Like Jimmy's not a score like Luca. You could say
Luca can get me thirty eight every night, because that's
just he's a natural born score. And he hasn't even

(25:35):
peaked yet with the Lakers, you know what I mean.
Like he where he's just gonna continue. He's been on
a little role lately. But that's what Luca does. You know,
if this was Michael Jordan ive, you are Kobe in
his prime. You can guar rd pencil Kobe in for
thirty five nine because this is at his best.

Speaker 2 (25:48):
This is what he does.

Speaker 4 (25:49):
Jimmy's not necessarily and naturally a guy's gonna get you
thirty eight. That's not kind of his game. So I'm like, dude,
if he ain't getting you that, even if he has
a good game gets you twenty two, twenty three, twenty four,
I'm like, where, I just don't see where this bucket
eybody keep saying Poijenski, I'm I did I miss something?
And again he is solid. I'm not he's if he's
a part of your role players. But it's like, who's

(26:09):
the other guy? Like Andrew Wiggins is gone? You know
you don't have that other Just that's my I gotta
keep going on. The last time, the last time that
they won, Wiggins was a big part. Yeah, you don't
have that Austin Reeves type guy where you go, okay,
we kind of got another guy and create shots, put up,
get get buckets like that. So that's just where I
end up being a little skeptical. But listen, I'm looking

(26:31):
forward to and that's what the playoffs are for, to
prove us wrong, you know what I mean. And and
this is the chance for the Warriors to say, hey,
don't disrespect the championship pedigree. I understand that I would
love to be wrong, meaning it entertaining, and I told you,
I would love to see one more go at it
Steph and Lebron. That would be amazing, you know what
I mean, we get one more time off Steph Lebron.

(26:54):
That would be something that that would be fun, that
could be entertaining. So I'm not it almost would be
more desirable from that standpoint aesthetically.

Speaker 2 (27:03):
On a programming. No, we'll get Todd of Dragon tomorrow.
That's what happens when you have a son. He got
a little little one year old boy running around. I
bet you that's what happened. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (27:12):
So it was like, I'll be back none, No, I know,
I gotta do this. I gotta talk to my guys,
the odd couple. I gotta be on with them.

Speaker 2 (27:17):
At six thirty. I will be back. He's watching his
son right and yeah, gig gig dad Dad. He's like,
I can't do it, ying yang ying yank? Is that
it bo nos.

Speaker 4 (27:28):
But as soon as you make that like I got
locked in, Hey, hey, hey, I need you to be back,
I gotta do the thing. Bet my gosh, it's gonna
run there real quick, go in real quick. I'll be
back before you know it. Next thing, you know, an
hour and a half letting, ying, ying, ying, you're sitting
there on daddy duty.

Speaker 9 (27:42):
The worst is when you're like, I just gotta run
upstairs real quick, and then you get halfway up the
stairs and you just hear a smack or a crash.

Speaker 2 (27:48):
Let me go, let me tell you something. Bo bo,
let's ad minute. Let's have a heart to heart moment here.
I tell this to all new parents. You're gonna do this.

Speaker 4 (27:56):
It's gonna be great. It's gonna happen. And by the way,
it's okay. They say, what say it's okay? Forgive yourself
for what? I don't want to say. The baby's gonna
fall off the bed? Am I lying about? No.

Speaker 9 (28:07):
A couple of weeks ago, we were going down the
stairs and I just was like, I let go over
her hand because she's she's three today. She just turned yes,
thank you guys. I'll let her know, and I just
let her go down the stairs because she's a toddler.

Speaker 2 (28:20):
She can handle it.

Speaker 9 (28:21):
She got to like the last two and fell and
I just looked at her face as she's fallen, and
and she looked like she didn't know what was happening.
And she didn't. She thankfully didn't hit her head right,
but like, yeah, the rest of the day, I'm like,
oh my god, did I just give her a concussion?

Speaker 5 (28:34):
But what did I do? Right?

Speaker 2 (28:36):
Listen? Why did I let her hand go?

Speaker 4 (28:39):
But the part listen bo again bo? No, Then this
is this is your you know, this is your first
and only right now right. If you get more, you
get used, it gets worse. And we're my third three
year old.

Speaker 2 (28:47):
Now, dude, she looks exactly that's her. And you're like, okay, okay,
all right, good when you come back, bring are you
in my house? Are you in my house? Don't worry
about what we're doing it. I don't know how many kids.
When I know I because that third one cold drink.

(29:09):
Let me tell you something I think I had.

Speaker 4 (29:11):
When you get to finally say bring me the remote,
actually took it downstairs.

Speaker 2 (29:15):
That's why I had to finally go, hey, I know
you just came all the wa upstairs. Can you go
back down and grab my bag of chips?

Speaker 1 (29:21):
But here's the line, Uh, when you're getting that ice
back for your head, give me a cold drink, give.

Speaker 4 (29:27):
Me and then they literally, I swear to you, you'll
see him hobbling up the stairs with like handflussed, you know,
for them three things.

Speaker 2 (29:33):
It's like.

Speaker 4 (29:35):
You're like, oh, thank you baby, go ahead, yeah, yeah,
But sometimes you just got to trick him. All right,
you can go get that, you can get a cookie.
They get excited and bring me my whatever filling the one,
that bag of corn, whatever it is you needed. I
think that's one of the massive reasons why I had
kids to finally get paid back to say, oh uh,
get in the house, hey daddy, call me. Yeah, real quick,
you get me the rope, Go get that the one

(29:57):
right five feet away from you. Go get that for
your boy, real quick. I got to remind them part
read I didn't hear it.

Speaker 2 (30:01):
All right. You know what time it is? Last call?

Speaker 4 (30:04):

seven seven ninety nine on Fox. Last Call, Tyler Dragon.

to look at stupid Instagram. Real, you let your daughter
go both.

Speaker 9 (31:53):
I think Luca was in the middle of a big
game or something like that.

Speaker 2 (31:56):
So my baby, I'm sorry, she just slips.

Speaker 3 (32:02):
I don't know what it was.

Speaker 2 (32:03):

Speaker 1 (32:10):
And then you get served papers and next day I'm
just telling oh, that's not what happened.

Speaker 2 (32:14):
All right?

Speaker 1 (32:14):
Hey, John and Houston, you're the last call here on
the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 8 (32:20):
What up?

Speaker 2 (32:20):
John?

Speaker 5 (32:21):
Hey man? You know what, you two guys are very
very smart. You know, I watched them national shows and
all they hallow binis experience. Experience. They must be they
must have forgot this ain't the same Golden State Warriors. God,
these young Rockets, man, they looked like the young Boston
Celtics before. They wanted the championship recently, and they have

(32:44):
a coach that have the en Look what he has
done the last two years. They damn near made the
playoffs last year. Look coming again.

Speaker 6 (32:54):
They won this year.

Speaker 5 (32:56):
This is the main This is the main thing. The
ninety five Rockets did have this kind of talent. The
Rockets have told scene that cannot even can't we get
a starting job they got. I forget that kid name
scored thirty five points. So the other night he's so
mad every night because he ain't getting enough playing time.

(33:17):
The Rockets team eleven twelve people there are hold.

Speaker 2 (33:22):
On, hold on, John Deep team.

Speaker 4 (33:24):
Come on, you know keem Olajawan was playing with the
Rockets in ninety five, right, Just want to make sure
you were aware.

Speaker 1 (33:30):
I get his enthusiasm about the team, but you can
say that they don't have said that.

Speaker 2 (33:34):
I said. I'm saying, but that's not crazy. That's like
it's crazy.

Speaker 4 (33:38):
The dream was absurd on both sides of the ball,
like ubsurd, like top ten player of all tying up
sird And they did have Clyde Drexer and Mario Ellie
and Sam Cansel and Robert Rri. They had some guy.
I get his point. They were not I would have
meant they're not as naturally talented. But any team with
quem Olajuan and his peak MVP formed prime is a problem. Yeah,

(33:59):
I mean that that's the best thing about this you're Cleveland,
You're okay, see which I know they're like, what more
do you want from me?

Speaker 2 (34:07):
If we want sixty games, you gotta tell you got
you got to prove it in the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (34:11):
I'm not saying like automatically because they won all those games,
but to totally discount them is what I'm saying. That's
where I draw the line, like it's just, oh, well,
then do I have experience and you just totally dismiss
everything that happened this year.

Speaker 2 (34:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (34:26):
Not when they're a defensive team as well, and you
know in the postseason, getting stops making plays, you know,
like that is a part of NBA basketball this time.

Speaker 2 (34:36):
Of the year.

Speaker 4 (34:36):
Yeah, and it'll be, but you gotta earn it. And
he may Dookoh has been there. He I think he
has a point to prove. I still think he has
a chip on the shoulder about how it all ended
in Boston, obviously because extracurricular activity. But I know from
a basketball standpoint, he probably feels like, you know, we
were right there, like that championship was mine that Joe
Mosula won. I know it made you know a little

(34:58):
bit not similar situations and but maybe some people felt
about Mark Jackson with the Warriors, like that should have
been marked. You know, even the players remember Steve Current
to earn their respect because a lot of those players like, uh,
we was rolling with Mark.

Speaker 2 (35:11):
We was on our way to something, definitely something different.

Speaker 4 (35:14):
I'll tell you ain't on any wading in Chicago. They
got Smith's act for sure.

Speaker 9 (35:18):
At home.

Speaker 2 (35:19):
Yeah, bad loss. The Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon
is coming up next.

Speaker 3 (35:24):
I never miss your radio show.

Speaker 2 (35:26):
I never hear it, so I never miss it. Did
you hear that
