Last Call. You don't want to miss it. All right,
So now our number three, we're still talking basketball. In

(01:25):
the basketball game. One of the knicks up our eleven
is that what the score.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
Yeah, that's the last I saw, but I don't know
if we missed anything, but yeah, they get on a
nice ruck Caarthy Towns as they just show him kind
of get their head towards halftime. Yeah, eleven eleven point
fifty six, Knicks up forty to forty five for the Pacers.
Karthly town a really big middle of the second quarter
stretch where he had like a you know, nice little
eight to nine point run himself.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
This will be fitting for the Knicks to choke it
down and then the series will be over.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
Well, so yeah, I don't know. Yeah, are you meaning
this game? Yeah? No, no, no, they're winning this game.

Speaker 1 (01:58):
This would be yees, listen, they this would be fitting
rather they fight to get one more game because they've
been doing it all playoffs.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
Exact opposite would be fitting that they have a lead
fifteen points and they choke it down the same way
that they started.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
And I looked at it was three and five.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
They are in the postseason, including zero and two at
home in this series, So it would.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
Just be fitting.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
No, can't they do what they've been doing? So you
want it to be what happened? What happened to them?
Have a big lead and then lose it. That's what
they've been doing to people all playoff. I think they're
gonna win this one. They losing six. That's how I
got it. But we'll have to wait and see his
halftime in that game. Another game, of course, we talked
about the one twenty four to ninety four blowout with
the Oklahoma City Thunder beating up on the Minnesota Timberwolves

(02:43):
last night, and I watched that game as they're heading
out to the NBA Finals for the first time in years,
and you got to give credit to that organization.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
But SGA does it a game.

Speaker 4 (02:53):
Man.

Speaker 1 (02:54):
He's averaging, to think, was thirty one throughout the Western
Conference Finals, been playing great throughout the postseason. Now the
current MVP of the league. And he's funny because we
don't often bring him up when we have these conversations
Face of the League or you know, who's the guy
in the NBA right now, Yet he's done nothing but
dominate last year this year, averaging thirty on fifty percent shooting.

(03:16):
Only Mike Jordan has done it as many times. And
he's just been that great. And I was watching and
I was thinking to myself and man, SGA is so good.
But one of the things I think that is hurting him,
that is detracting from the greatness or folks awareness of
the greatness is a success of the team. When you

(03:38):
start to dissect some of these numbers, Rob Man, I
think the team is actually hurting him and a bit,
I'll tell you, how did he win the MVP? Then no,
because he's played. He's the best player on the by
far best team. I mean, he had a huge winning season,
franchise record season, and it's not a question of people
know he's great. What I mean specifically is having those

(03:59):
moments elevating you, you know, like those Halliburton moments right
like Jalen Brunton moments have had. And a part of
it is not his fault, is just how good and
great the team has been. They had the highest regular
season point differential, they were up basically winning by most
games by thirteen points. They had the best record against
the posing Conference ever twenty nine to one. They've had

(04:19):
the fifth most regular season wins we know that, sixty eight.
And if you look at this postseason, he's only having
to play thirty six minutes.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
Usually postseasons, your guy.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
The guy he's playing forty forty one, forty two minutes
a game because it's the postseason.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
We need you.

Speaker 1 (04:37):
And if he's playing an extra five or six minutes
a game, well those stats thirty one, those go up
to thirty four to thirty five. And also because they're
blowing everybody out. Rob we set up here, talked about
we started the show. What you saying you had no
interest in watching the game last night. He doesn't have
to get a chance to have those Halliburton brunting moments.
He hasn't had a chance to have the game down there,

(04:58):
down by five and he hits two threes to win it.
He hasn't had a chance to have that epic you know,
come back often because they keep blowing everybody out, which
is a great thing for them, and that's why they're
going to the NBA Finals. So you want this, you
want this result. But I'm just saying, like, man, if
they had a few closer gains, if they had some
more compelling series, we get to see him more and

(05:18):
even more magical moments and have him show us even
more of his greatness and how he's taking it to
another level. And so it's not a bad thing. You
want to get to the finals as fast as you can,
as healthy as you can. So it's not a bad thing.
It's just I was like, man, if he actually had
closer games, if he actually had a chance where him
and Ant were dueling it out in a game that mattered,

(05:40):
you know, that's how you get those marquee moments like Tyre's.
Heller Burton has been able to have in the Eastern
Conference as well as Jalen Brunson, and he hasn't been
able to have those moments.

Speaker 2 (05:49):
Now he would.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
He would sit here and tell you I'll take it
because I'm in the finals. But I'm just saying, as
a viewers like man, it would be even more awesome
if we had those moments, those big shots, those game winners,
those duels between he and uh and and and we
kind of didn't get those.

Speaker 2 (06:03):
But again, he's in the finals, so he ain't gonna complain.
So give me Steph's.

Speaker 3 (06:10):
Big moments and how that took away from people thinking
he's the greatest shooter.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
Of all time.

Speaker 1 (06:15):
Steph has plenty of big moments. No he doesn't have
he doesn't have a singular shot. He has plenty of
tell you about what I'm saying games. You know what
I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (06:27):
But are you talking about a shot? Is what I'm
trying to say. And that's what where you where you're
talking about, even in Steph Curry's case, is that there's
no shot there, right, And I agree with that saying okay,
But what I'm saying is I think a lot of
people still they love the run that they were on.
They ignore that Kevin Durant was the m v P
and one noyes they do.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
I don't know how they ignore that he was playing
the best.

Speaker 3 (06:52):
Nose shots in Lebron's mug defense. We've never seen Katie
locking up.

Speaker 2 (06:58):
I don't know. I mean, sure don't.

Speaker 3 (07:00):
Those moments are something that you can hold on to
when people can remember.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
But that's what I mean like that, it's just but this.

Speaker 3 (07:06):
Is one run, like he has a career, like I
get it, But this is the NBA. We also playing
with their way more blowouts and bad lopsided games because
if you don't shoot the three.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
Well you know what I mean, and stuff like that.

Speaker 3 (07:19):
And they're a good defensive team, so I.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
Get that.

Speaker 3 (07:22):
And if you're a good defensive team, you're getting a
lot of easy buckets off of turnovers and uncontested.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
Layups and you know, play action going the other way.
I get it, but I just don't know what else
he could do.

Speaker 1 (07:35):
No, it's not a he can't do anything in the
sense of we're just blowing everybody out. We're locking everybody out,
you know, locking everybody up.

Speaker 2 (07:42):
I should say, but.

Speaker 1 (07:45):
I just thought that thinking of it, like, man, that's
how you kind of take it to you know, you
get those matchicoms like you and I have set up
here and we have actually said, man, we on the pace.
There's some you know, an apology. Nobody don't really talk
about it in the regular season. And then you got
Tyrese Halliburton having these great moments that we've come on
the next day or in real time watching a couple

(08:06):
of times, like, man, look at this, he's clutch. He's
having these game way to come back. Bronson did it
and did it during the Piston series as well, and
and SJ just hasn't had to do that.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
I get what you're saying, but I just I don't.
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (08:22):
I don't know if I don't value him or what
he's done, or you know, the season he's having I
guess if it was multiple years, maybe I would take
a look at it and go, I mean, he still
has a chance of doing that in in a closer
game against the Pacers or whatever in the final hope
so and say he makes a shot or whatever. And
that's how you build your you know, along with just

(08:45):
being great and doing and playing well, but that's how
you build moments that people remember in a shot that
you made. I get that, but I think that comes
in time. This is his first time on this stage, right,
so I don't I don't know if it was.

Speaker 2 (09:01):
The first year.

Speaker 3 (09:02):
I'm trying to think of Michael Jordan and you know
what I mean when you when you start to make
those shots, and we.

Speaker 1 (09:06):
Got the we got the right to left his first
year with against Lakers. We got to jump up with
the right finish with the left U moment on the
way there too, you know the next one you get
the hitting all of the threes in the first half
and the little shoulder shrug, you know what I mean.
And this is this is an optimistic point too. I'm saying,
I'm hoping if it's the Pacers, which I think we
both believe it will be, that we get a really

(09:28):
good series and it's close and it's clutching. He's battling,
dueling Tyre's Halliburton. I want that.

Speaker 3 (09:34):
I hear everybody like people, I wanted to be good, good,
good luck, you know what, everything, the finals to be
closed and all that, like, like, it's just not that
kind of NBA anymore.

Speaker 2 (09:45):
It's just not.

Speaker 3 (09:46):
I mean, there have been big comebacks cuse teams are
built up, and those have turned into exciting finishes. Right,
they're not really nipping tuck games. They're twenty point leads
and then the other team to undo it. They keep
shooting threes, whatever, and the teams have come back. So
it's really the ending that you remember, don't right, not
the entire game that it's nip and tuck the entire way.

(10:07):
It's just that the game becomes when it's down to
a possession or two.

Speaker 2 (10:13):
That's when we decide, like wow.

Speaker 3 (10:15):
You know, like I don't remember the game that the
Pacers won and came back from fourteen points. But I
couldn't even tell you any part of the of the
first three and a half quarters, could you. I don't
I don't remember that game. I don't do remember to finish.

Speaker 2 (10:32):
But that's all we need. That's what I'm saying. We
want the Regie.

Speaker 1 (10:36):
You keep telling me, I covered that game with Reggie Miller,
you know, the whole choke game. Like I'm hoping we
get some of those because I like SGA. I love
the fact that he plays both sides of the ball.
I love the fact that he is team. He's all
about his team, that's all.

Speaker 2 (10:49):
He is.

Speaker 1 (10:49):
Almost a fault where he keeps instead of having his
shining moment at the podium or answering questions, he always
brings him up. These are the dogs, were the dogs,
and he's about that. He's an amazing player. I'm glad
he brought the mid range back and he's hitting the
mid range shots and drawing files.

Speaker 2 (11:03):
And getting the feet like.

Speaker 1 (11:04):
I love him in his game, and that's why I'm
saying I would love for him to have these elevated moments.
Were put some more in the spotlight. It puts some
more in notoriety, and it puts me, oh, man, you
see that shot.

Speaker 2 (11:13):
You hear man?

Speaker 1 (11:14):
He outdueled potentially Haller Burdon are potentially brunts, and and
I'm looking for that for him because I think that's
that thing that kind of takes you to the next level,
especially Rob, since his game isn't Anthony Edward's like or
or you know, old kind of Giannis the last few
years where he's dunking on people, getting a hole, having
these dramatic types of plays.

Speaker 2 (11:32):
That's not his game.

Speaker 1 (11:33):
I definitely think those having those duels are having close
games or him finishing games out. Would you know, just
elevated status, that's all I think. I think if he's
the best player in the game right now, he's current MVP,
having that extra little oof to put around the start,
and I think I think the league would love it too.

Speaker 3 (11:51):
Is Okayse's overall dominance actually detracting from SGA's greatness eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven, seven nine nine
sixty three sixty nine.

Speaker 2 (12:02):
We'll continue that conversation next with you.

Speaker 3 (12:04):
It is the Odd Couple on a TV theme song Thursday,
Rob Parker kelvin Washington, right here on Fox Sports Radio,

Speaker 1 (12:29):
Was there a show Rob that had more intros? They
had at least like six same song but different ways.
Might be Jazz, might be Ryan, might be yea Bahamian
Bahamian field like that.

Speaker 3 (12:44):
I like have a classic theme song and play it
to death most runs.

Speaker 2 (12:50):
You're lucky to have eight or nine years on the show,
and that beyond lucky that point.

Speaker 1 (12:54):
Yeah, they had like the same song six or seven
different versions of it on the show. It's the couple
Rob Parker kelvin Washington on a TV thing so on Thursday.
For over forty years, tire Iraq has been helping customers
find the right tires for who, what and how they drive,
ship fast and free back by free road hazard protection.

(13:15):
They have convenient installation options like mobile tire installation, so
go to tire rack dot com.

Speaker 2 (13:20):
It is the way tire buying should be.

Speaker 1 (13:23):
Sga I was saying, it will be awesome for him
to take that next level as fart start them notoriety
if he gets those close games, those dual games where
he's going at it with another star and some buzzer
beaters and his team is so good they're almost robbing
him of those moments because they're dominating everybody. Eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox Am, I crazy.

Speaker 3 (13:41):
Who we got Darren and Maryland. You're on the odd
couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (13:46):
What's up, Darren?

Speaker 5 (13:48):
What's up? Rob? What's up?

Speaker 3 (13:52):
Man?

Speaker 2 (13:52):
All good? My man?

Speaker 5 (13:54):
Kelvin, You're out your mind.

Speaker 3 (13:58):
You don't need those moments.

Speaker 2 (14:00):
Guess what.

Speaker 5 (14:01):
He adds more notoriety to his name by being.

Speaker 6 (14:03):
The leader of the rat tact of his dog and people.
It's something special when you you're the leader and your.

Speaker 5 (14:10):
Team is making people quit. You're literally beating them into submission.
And when they step on.

Speaker 3 (14:14):
The floor of you, they see over the up ten
what we're done.

Speaker 5 (14:18):
That's that's that's when.

Speaker 1 (14:19):
You got, That's when you start them.

Speaker 5 (14:21):
You don't need those clutch moments. And when I was
a player, I'd rather beat you bout thirty, didn't have
to sweat out of one the two point.

Speaker 6 (14:27):
Figure, just so I can say, oh, I look good
in the clutch.

Speaker 5 (14:30):
And how about fearing me.

Speaker 3 (14:31):
It's like when people step in.

Speaker 1 (14:32):
The ring with tight you rather no, Darren, I'm glad
you said that.

Speaker 3 (14:37):
I'm so glad you said that, Darren. Thank you, Darren.
Sometimes I'll give you another one, Darren too.

Speaker 2 (14:43):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (14:43):
One of the badges of honor from Michael Jordan is
that he didn't go to Game seven.

Speaker 1 (14:47):
I don't I don't need you, okay, But what I'm
saying is Michael Jordan has ample magical moments. And Darren,
I know you're still listening. You brought up Mike Tyson. Yeah,
fear people. You know why because it was not everybody
out and that was what the pop to it pun
intended to his pazazz. It wasn't just all I'm going
to see it, Tyson. F you knew what you were

(15:08):
gonna see. And that's what I'm saying you, Well, you
have those moment. Remember he knocked this person, he knocked
him out three. Remember he knocked him out in twenty
five seconds. So I'm saying you have those. Michael Jordan
has plenty game winners you want to go against Utah.

Speaker 2 (15:20):
The handful of those fame is that he ain't never
go to a games set.

Speaker 1 (15:24):
I'm not mad at that, but he had duels where
he dueled people out and so I'm just saying.

Speaker 3 (15:27):
Yeah, but you're looking at a whole career based on
this first real running right.

Speaker 2 (15:32):
This isn't a knock. I told you. I'm just saying
this is to me. What this is.

Speaker 1 (15:35):
What takes SGA up a notch is if he if
we go against the Pacers, they go to a six
or seven game series and he has epic moments.

Speaker 2 (15:43):
That's why people love Reggie Miller. He has those epic moments.

Speaker 3 (15:47):
To Big Shop, Billips, MJ and Newallan joined the odd
couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (15:51):
What's up? MJ?

Speaker 5 (15:54):
To the seafood bell?

Speaker 2 (15:58):
Who?

Speaker 1 (15:59):
Man, You've got one more time to name something so
good like that you have to FedEx something.

Speaker 3 (16:02):
Brouh every time you do it. You know, Kelvin gained
four pounds. I'm just want you to know I told
you the fat shame. I'm going to HR right now.

Speaker 2 (16:11):
I'm not fat shaming you. Listen, look at Roger's shaking
his head. You feel me.

Speaker 6 (16:15):
What's the worst part of that whole statement is Rob
knows this. We don't have an HR anymore. So you'll
call someone and they'll just come right back to you
exactly yourself.

Speaker 2 (16:23):
Let me just call the bosses. What's up, Holly?

Speaker 7 (16:25):
What Hey?

Speaker 2 (16:26):
What's Rob doing? Man? What's he doing to you?

Speaker 3 (16:27):
Man?

Speaker 2 (16:28):
Talk?

Speaker 5 (16:28):
To me K dub all right, well listen, listen. Last
week it was will they be remembered? Since then, they've
taken down the hero slid SDA. He's the Michael Jackson
of this team and he's winning. With Marlon, Jermaine, Jackie,
Tito and Randy, they have something special going on and

(16:53):
if they can complete this, man, it is what it is,
and let's come on man. Mike Tyson down King set
up those ten cream puff cupcake fights against those Mits Greens.
Come on, man, I was around. Man, that was a
bunch of bombs. And I don't really call people bombs,
but that was a bunch of bombs. Man, come on, man,
as he is doing his thing.

Speaker 2 (17:14):
No, he is doing this thing. I think miss MJ.
They appreciate call MJ as always. No, don't get him.
It's true. I think he is phenomenal.

Speaker 1 (17:22):
I love the fact that again he shoots mid range,
that he plays defense.

Speaker 2 (17:25):
I think he's incredible.

Speaker 1 (17:26):
I was sitting here watching him last night and it's
too kind of how we even started the show. Rob
was saying out blowouts. I'm not really watching, and I
think a lot of people feel that way. My point is, like, man,
I'm like, I think people would even appreciate him more
if they saw him, you know, have to have that
moment where he had to come back. We had to
duel it out where he had those moments, he had
to have to do it. His team's just blowing everybody out.

(17:47):
They're so great defensively, it's remarkable what they're doing.

Speaker 2 (17:50):
And they made they had.

Speaker 1 (17:52):
A few games where Joki did not look good now
and Edwards, who was having a great season, they made
him under twenty points a game. So their defense is
ridiculous right now. And that'll be the great to see
if it ends up being the Pacers. The contrast, right
you got a team that is prolific offensively versus team
that's prolific defensively, and see if we get, you know,
a clash of the styles. If it ends up being

(18:14):
the Pacers versus the Thunder, we'll have to wait and
see them. Right now, they're up. I don't have to score.
That's why Martin Weiss is here. He's gonna give us
What's trend. And don't forget Tyser's Tower of Trivia coming
up after that, Martin, What's Up?

Speaker 4 (18:26):

not only last night, but in the series.

Speaker 2 (20:36):
Got blowed out for sure.

Speaker 6 (20:38):
All the questions here are Minnesota Timberwolves themed, I flipped
a coin. During Martin's award winning update, Rob Parker gets questioned, unbelievable.

Speaker 3 (20:48):
Finally some respect. Thirty years, not thirty nine, thirty years
on the radio.

Speaker 2 (20:54):
Thirty years.

Anthony Edwards, current star the Timberwolves, has the most obvious
nickname ever. They're not even trying anymore. Folks just call
him blank man.

Speaker 2 (21:19):
Alec. How are you, buddy?

Speaker 8 (21:20):
I'm doing great, Rob. It's good to have somebody that
can talk to me. Come on, man, we're right here.

Speaker 2 (21:25):
We're right here, baby. Yes, okay, am I right? Rob?
You're always out of nature and stuff, aren't you? Oh?

Speaker 1 (21:35):
Wow, wow, your honor? I object. Don't be the black
jobs in the show that can't speak at Rob G.

Speaker 2 (21:42):
You're asking, Here we go. I'm just catching up. I object.
Here we go. Leading the witness picnic. Oh you left

Speaker 2 (22:34):
It was like he said worm or something. He said basket.

Speaker 3 (22:37):
But I'm saying ants when you think of a picnic chance, No,
that's a basket.

Speaker 1 (22:42):
No, I know, but I'm just saying, I just got
to get it cool.

Speaker 3 (22:47):
Yeah that one't think that's a good one. That would
have been it?

Speaker 6 (22:51):
All right, Kelvin, back to you nothing. You get a
chance to get what.

Speaker 3 (22:54):
He would have gotten it wrong because Alex is from
the tribe, so he wouldn't have said He would have
said on on.

Speaker 2 (23:04):
That's the one word that black people get right.

Speaker 3 (23:07):
Aunt it's not auntie, it's odd a U n t

Speaker 6 (25:53):
That was a mistake on my part.

Speaker 2 (25:55):
No, we gotta throw that question.

Speaker 6 (25:57):
Now it's kind of worked out that way.

Speaker 2 (25:59):
Throw that question. We gotta know that catch the points.
That's what that's unfair him. Well, I may answer that
for all of that clue. Right, you're right him her

Speaker 2 (30:25):
What's your clue? You say, Covino? No, I said, hold on,

Speaker 8 (30:36):
That isn't correct answer, I'm saying, you said DeVito, right?

the why I made a pretty penny from The Who. Yes,
let it go. Mm hmm. Somebody need to sample this.

a sports room. Why don't you just yeah, I've written
shows and all that. I just can't get a break.
