The Doug Gottlieb Show and Improved iHeart Radio app. I
just said something nice and.
Speaker 3 (01:30):
You left.
Speaker 4 (01:31):
I was going to say some other shows, but I
thought I would be patronizing if I were to say no,
Ben Maller and Jason Smith's show with Mike Harmon. I
could have done all of that, and I was trying.
Speaker 3 (01:43):
To be nice. That might you know what? Yeah, that
one nice, but for once he appreciates it.
Speaker 2 (01:49):
You know.
Speaker 3 (01:49):
Manti's right there.
Speaker 5 (01:50):
He could have said on Airbnb with Byron Belanos could
have said that one, is.
Speaker 3 (01:54):
That the name of the show? Yes, what is it?
On the air with bon Air B and B like
air Airbnb? Yeah, oh I like that. That's you come
up with that. She was right there and you could
have said it, but you know you won't. God leave instead.
That's okay. I never missed air I never miss on
air on airbnbs. I can't take credit for that.
Speaker 4 (02:11):
That was Isaac and Cron. Really, yeah, that's very it was, Yes,
thank you on Airbnb.
Speaker 3 (02:17):
If you can't do a good job on the updates,
at least you could name shows. You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (02:21):
Everybody getting spread, so I get some done here, Mike.
I mean you can't fully loaded today you over here
like Rambro.
Speaker 3 (02:32):
I'm just in the money, kitty. I Load does a
great job. That is fun. That's a great name, all right.
Speaker 4 (02:39):
Uh, business fluctuations make it drives.
Speaker 1 (02:44):
The boys in the hood, Ricky, you're not taking everybody out.
Speaker 4 (02:50):
Business fluctuations make running your manufacturer businesses complex.
Speaker 3 (02:56):
But but staffing your business doesn't have to be that way.
Speaker 4 (03:00):
That's why let Express Employment Professionals provide the workforce you need.
Go to expresspros dot com to fight a little kate.
Speaker 3 (03:11):
Near you. That's expresspros dot com. Don't forget.
Speaker 4 (03:14):
Oh my god, what Mark Fucky Colemadina is back and
he's on the show Cheezcake. That's right, we'll never get
that coming up in about the twenty six minutes. As
far as the baseball game, and Kevi I said this
before the game, the Blue Jays got to win. They
were down to nothing, right, Julio Rodriguez had a big
(03:35):
home run, got the crowd into a fend frenzy, and
now hit them the Blue Jays.
Speaker 3 (03:39):
They tied it on a two run home run.
Speaker 4 (03:41):
They went ahead on a wild pitch, and then they
got a two one RBI hit. It's now five to
three Toronto here in game three in Seattle. Seattle won
the first two in Toronto. This is the series.
Speaker 3 (03:58):
Like if they if Toronto loses, they're in trouble.
Speaker 1 (04:02):
No, we've seen throughout this playoffs five too. By the way,
it's only two five to them. Sorry, and Julio Rodriguez
is up again. You're hoping if you're the Mariners that
he could do something. But now, listen, we talked about
a handful of teams throughout this postseason have fun. They like,
even if you know we might lose the series, but dang,
we're gonna fight tonight, and so you expect them to
come out and fight.
Speaker 4 (04:21):
But it's just like when you know, when the Dodgers
and Brewers, I expect them like that's their season Game
three in La, you know what I mean. It's all well,
the Dodgers want to dude, they're going to come up.
They know what is at stake. And I think the
same thing with the Blue Jays.
Speaker 1 (04:37):
So we'll keep eye, keep you updated on this score
as well. All right, Uh rob G.
Speaker 4 (04:42):
I know there was some chatter, you know, the talking
heads on television and Patrick Mahomes and what he's done
this year. Their offense obviously has gotten better, but people
are starting to mention him as maybe winning the MVP.
Speaker 5 (04:57):
It's not just the talking heads, Rob because Lamar, who
text me, by the way, says, great job with Sheckel City.
Speaker 3 (05:04):
Keep doing what you're doing. You thank you. New tower comes.
Speaker 1 (05:10):
Yes, don't hit the reset button again, keep doing it, uh.
Speaker 5 (05:14):
Lamar Mitchell bet MGM Friends of the Show put out
the updated NFL MVP odds today, and I'll give you
one guess who is now the favorite, A slight favorite,
but the favorite nonetheless to win the award this season.
It's not Lamar Jackson opened up as the favorite. It's
(05:35):
not Matthew Stafford. It's not even Jared Goff. It's not
even my arch nemesis Baker Mayfield.
Speaker 3 (05:42):
No, he doesn't.
Speaker 5 (05:44):
It is none other than mister three and three himself,
Patrick Mahomes at plus two hundred to win the NFL
MVP at bet MGM.
Speaker 3 (05:55):
He is the favorite.
Speaker 5 (05:57):
Right now.
Speaker 3 (05:57):
Here we go again.
Speaker 4 (05:58):
They're living in the past. They so want Patrick Mahomes
to be that guy, and I get it. They're living
in the past of what he used to be and
even this year. Like last year, he didn't get one
single first place vote for MVP, and this year he
should not get if we were voting right now, one
(06:20):
single vote, not one. First of all, the Chiefs are
three and three. The teams that he's beaten have a
record of seven and twelve. He'd beat Baltimore one and five,
the Giants two and five, and the Lions four and two. Okay,
his passer rating, he's had four games so far under ninety.
Speaker 3 (06:43):
Two the league average.
Speaker 4 (06:45):
That's that's right under ninety two. He also beat quarterbacks
like Cooper Rush, Russell Wilson, so he he beats some
also rams, which is fine.
Speaker 3 (07:02):
Here's the other part.
Speaker 4 (07:04):
Patrick Mahomes is not rob g repeat after me, not
n ot. In the top twenty in completion, not in
the top twenty. Wow, in completions. You know where he
is in passer rating eighteenth. That's below middle of the pack,
(07:26):
which is fifteen sixteenth. Right, he's eighteenth passer rating, seventh
in touchdown passes, with.
Speaker 3 (07:36):
One more than Lamar who's.
Speaker 4 (07:37):
Miss games, and he's tied with Tua whose team can't win.
Stop with wanting to fall in love with Patrick Mahomes
because what he did to start his career. I'll give
it to you. It was magical. It was unbelievable to watch.
He's not that dude, Dear, three and three, he's twentieth
(08:02):
in completion percentage, twentieth to zero wow, eighteenth quarter passer rating.
How is that MVP? No, that's not MVP. When your
team is three and three, you hear me, saga, I'm right,
(08:24):
I'm totally right. Patrick Mahomes deserves zero MVP votes right here,
right now at three and three.
Speaker 1 (08:35):
So you're wrong, per usual. Now here's why you're wrong.
He's not gonna win it. But the idea that he
is going to be the leader, to me is not
crazy because people, this is what I said to you
three when they beat the Baltimore Ravens. I said, this
offense is about to explode, and since then it has
for him.
Speaker 3 (08:54):
Since then, this offense is clicked.
Speaker 1 (08:56):
Last season, you kept bringing up our stats were very
close to Aaron Rodgers season. Right now, he has eleven
touchdowns and two interceptions. He's on the roll right now,
fifteen plus fifteen hundred yards to be more like the
Patrick Mahomes of old you mentioned last season. I think
last season is gonna work in his favor this season
because the last two seasons, actually Patrick Mahomes's numbers weren't spectacular.
(09:18):
Patrick Mahomes wasn't looking like what we had become a
custom to seeing. I think that is why people are
gonna go, that's the guy we knew.
Speaker 3 (09:26):
Those are the players we used to see.
Speaker 1 (09:27):
Look at him going down the field way more than
he's gone to the last couple of years. Look at him
have any spectacular plays, and not to mention, I think
that it's gonna work in favor of him that the
season won't be a fifteen to two kind of I
think the season gonna be one of those they're gonna
lose a couple, then they're gonna win three four in
a row. They're gonna lose a couple, and they're gonna
work their way into the postseason. And I think that's
gonna work in his favor because people be able to see, oh,
(09:50):
he had to do it a different way, right, it
wasn't just easy and they were fifteen to two and
they just won all these games. I think it's gonna
be that's gonna work in his favor, that they're gonna
feel like.
Speaker 4 (09:58):
What about the numbers. I'm telling you right, remember the
twentieth and eight six. This isn't today, I hear. I'm
telling you about projection. No, they're talking about right now.
He should be the lead on favorite on these numbers.
Speaker 3 (10:11):
Because they see what's coming. No, they don't see what's coming.
Speaker 6 (10:14):
He hasn't beaten any body, he hasn't been said he
was coming. No, I don't see it because he didn't
need anybody. He's number one receivers. Oh, it's about what
you've done and what you've accomplished to this point, and
right now no one is if they're sat and Rosse
already eighteen the eyes a favor on the road, what
(10:38):
is it?
Speaker 3 (10:38):
What rob? It's the odds on favorite.
Speaker 1 (10:40):
I'm just talking about the MVP, meaning they're saying we
still have ten weeks left. No, there's who we think
is gonna win it, and they're seeing what he's about
to keep doing for another ten weeks. I don't think
he's going to win it, but the idea that why
he would be the favorite makes sense because he's going
to do it. Ended up statists, he's gonna be right
(11:00):
there with the top two three guys. Statistically, he's probably
gonna beat most of the guys.
Speaker 4 (11:05):
If he's eighteenth and twenties, you're gonna jump over all
because it's literally coming.
Speaker 3 (11:10):
I told you this against Baltimore.
Speaker 1 (11:11):
I literally told you all the dink and dunk stuff
gone two hundred and seventy yards, four touchdowns against the.
Speaker 4 (11:19):
Ravens in the next time touchdown on Lamar who's not
even playing.
Speaker 3 (11:23):
Well, we know Lamar is always MVP candidate.
Speaker 1 (11:25):
We know that that's not even that's Lamar's Lamar, And
so this is he's on his way and they're already
seeing he's doing this, and Rashid Rice is getting ready
to come back, and he's starting to look like him.
He's starting to look stylistically like him, doing plays going downfield,
doing trick plays are worthy. It's on the way where
he's gonna be right back in that candidate And I
already told you he's gonna be right back in the
(11:47):
AFC Championship game.
Speaker 3 (11:47):
We're all gonna see him be like, wait, how did
this happen? Again?
Speaker 1 (11:50):
It's on the way, and to me, it doesn't take
a rocket science to see that.
Speaker 3 (11:55):
Now. I still again, I think Baker Mayfield.
Speaker 1 (11:57):
Is the leader and probably as long as the team
doesn't go take some epic fall because he should be
getting receivers back. Because he's doing this without a lot
of guys, I think is Baker's year. I think it's
gonna be a great storyline. I think it's Baker. But
the idea that Patrick mahonmes won't finish top be right
there because we know who actually should be getting it
other than Baker. It's b John Robinson. But we know
running backs don't get it good for some reason. Running
(12:18):
backs you only get the Offensive Player of the year guy.
So here's your Just call it the running back of
the year called quarterback of the year. So we can
all stop acting like an MVP can be anything but
a quarterback. So just call it the MVQ Most Valuable
Quarterback Awards.
Speaker 4 (12:31):
Isn't Rice also coming off the torn acl' comeing off
the suspension, right, but he's still coming back that that
was a lot of bag. It usually takes a couple
of years to recover from that. So you're acting like
he's going to automatically. I know he's been on suspension,
but he's coming off a major injury too. I'm not
worried about that. Okay, Yeah, because they have all? Is
that another home run? Another home run?
Speaker 3 (12:53):
It is six? Is that six? Six? Yep? It's so low.
Speaker 1 (12:56):
George Springer MLBRO, he makes you need to know, he
make listen. George Springer gonna have some postseason, nice big
moments in post that's his third home running the postseason.
Speaker 3 (13:06):
I'm a reporter, I'm not a fan.
Speaker 5 (13:07):
But if a black dude it's a home run, we're
gonna celebrate it.
Speaker 1 (13:10):
No, it's for the sign. Now you're calling Drake right now?
What's the good places in Toronto are? Eight seven seven
ninety nine on Fox, y'all are killing me? Man, y'all

Speaker 4 (13:24):

Speaker 3 (17:05):
Yep, so that's one them next year game. I think
I'm off to Padres finally, So Yankee. Let's see Yankees

Speaker 5 (17:18):
Good morning, says Doug Gottlie Beagles poopermo g.
Speaker 3 (17:21):
That's not nice, that's mean. I don't like that, but
I read it, ready to read it. I didn't say
read the bad one. You can cherry pick be dub says.
Did Rob just say he bought some Prince leather pants? Well,
I named him, but he did.
Speaker 5 (17:39):
No.
Speaker 4 (17:39):
They were they were fifty pert face the whole time.
Speaker 3 (17:44):
What doesn't mean you turn around? You better face me.
Half of the pants were missing in the back. Manzi,
you didn't feel the drafts, you didn't feel the breeze.
Speaker 5 (17:54):
I'm a little disappointed because I'm reading all these comments,
and of course the Manzi won them skipping over that.
But we've had some great content, like the Home stuff
was good, the Westbrook stuff was well. Besides that, there
are like legitimate debates going on about the ones gotta
go and the flannel and the leather and all that stuff.
Speaker 3 (18:13):
Right, good, good, good, all right, take your calls Patrick Mahomes.
Speaker 1 (18:18):
The Sharps have him as the odds on favorite currently
for MVP. What do you say seven to seven ninety
nine on Fox?
Speaker 3 (18:25):
Is that Ramel and Georgia? You're in the couple of
Fox Sports Radio? What's up? Ramel?
Speaker 9 (18:29):
Hey Man, Peach and Blessings see you guys, man brother
love the topic and it's been a long time since
I called.
Speaker 1 (18:37):
Hey.
Speaker 9 (18:38):
First of all, I think it's Baker Mayfields could lose
right now.
Speaker 3 (18:41):
I agree.
Speaker 9 (18:41):
And to have Patrick Mahomes in the conversation right now
is really a travesty to what's going on in sports
that it just simply becomes a popularity cut. Yeah, exactly
the same individuals all the time. Listen, I'm an Eagles
fan and a Jets fan. And to see that Josh
Allen won the MVP over scorn Boxy last ship with
(19:05):
another travesty?
Speaker 3 (19:06):
You know what we lose? Do we lose them?
Speaker 2 (19:10):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (19:10):
God, you can't say that. What did he say? I say?
He say travesty. You can't say travesty out here in
these streets. That's all I heard. He said Traves He.
Speaker 1 (19:20):
Was on New Edition, wasn't he? Ralph Travesity I'm sorry.
You do need a man with sensitivity. I almost forgot
to tell you what my name was on the press box.
I slept in there all night. Who am I look
at me? Who am I imagine there's a press box.
Speaker 3 (19:36):
You know, the little code when you scan this cloth? Whatever?
Speaker 4 (19:40):
Whatever you guys, y'all make fun of me Andre in Massachusetts,
you're on the couple of Fox Sports Radio Dre.
Speaker 3 (19:47):
They're just hating on me because I have a press box.
Now you know I am.
Speaker 10 (19:52):
He deserved the press box. Rob, you know you can't.
You gotta, you know, give respect.
Speaker 5 (19:57):
Andre real quick. You're in Massachusetts, Southern Connectic. Gut a
real college?
Speaker 3 (20:03):
Have you actually heard of? College?
Speaker 4 (20:05):
Is another home run by the Blue Jays. Glad Glad
Junior goes yard to center field. That's what George Springers went.
Speaker 1 (20:14):
Yeah, they ain't playing around right now. No, come on, man,
I'll not get a little extra little jumping.
Speaker 3 (20:19):
All right, what do you got Andre? On this summer
homes first ball.
Speaker 10 (20:23):
We're showing love to own the colleges in New England. Everybody,
you know it has to get a get respect. So Rob,
congratulations on these.
Speaker 3 (20:30):
He didn't confirm that all said.
Speaker 10 (20:32):
Speaking of put respect on people's name. Listen what Baker
Mayfield is doing down there in the Sunshine State. Please.
They're five and one, They're in the super Bowl conversation.
People thought that they were chips after Tom Brady left,
and they've rebuilt it and really given themselves a real
chance to listen. The Chiefs three and three.
Speaker 9 (20:48):
They got a big.
Speaker 10 (20:49):
Win against Detroit at home. But this hasn't been there yet.
They haven't started off fast, and frankly, it's still a
question market if they make the playoffs. So clear, Patch
Mahomes does not belong as a favorite in this comy.
We got to spread the well, Baker Mayfield, maybe Jared Goff.
If the Lions get back on track and keep cooking,
there's new faces, there's new storylines and narratives for the
MVP conversation. Patrick Mahomes has had his day. Thanks taking
(21:12):
the call.
Speaker 3 (21:13):
There you go right, appreciate the call.
Speaker 1 (21:15):
You know what I think last point before we get
to Monty real quick, I also think I think it's
Baker's you know, and I think and again I think,
Jonathan Taylor, why can't running backs ever being this?
Speaker 3 (21:22):
But the one last point b John Robinson for sure.
Speaker 1 (21:25):
I also think what Vegas is doing and saying we
buy into Patrick Mahomes is this is what he can
do the remainder of the season. You, Savaron, tell me
one of the guys people, everybody Daniel Jones. You don't
buying Daniel Jones. Running Backs get hurt every other week.
We know running backs hardly ever make a full season.
So I think the difference is they're like, well, we
know he can do what he's doing for a.
Speaker 4 (21:45):
Whole trying to get people to put one know what
I know, That's what I'm also saying. And Mahomes is
that guy. So oh yeah, let's see if you get
a lot of people, would you put money on Daniel Jones,
who looks like he could be the MVP right now?
Would you put money on Justin Herbert?
Speaker 3 (21:59):
You know?
Speaker 1 (21:59):
Would you put the money on these guys who are
you know? Matthew Stafford is you know he can do it,
but it's like you might have not have the gaudy
numbers at the end of the solid thing all right

I'm telling you they need to. I don't know why baseball, right,
(22:55):
I don't know. I don't know about his personality.
Speaker 1 (22:57):
I don't know when they just talked to him a
I'm not saying he's hilarious, but he's he got dude.
Speaker 3 (23:03):
That's the guy that need to be from. All right,
thank you, Monzi.
Speaker 1 (23:06):

Speaker 3 (23:24):
All right, here's here, it is our guy.
Speaker 1 (23:27):
We are with our man, Mark Fucky co Madina, Fox
Sports Radio, NBA Insider Mark g Underscore Madina. Just saw
him at Lakers media day a couple of weeks ago.
You know how he still has that that new marriage glow, Rob,
He still has that all over him.
Speaker 4 (23:44):
Now, let me ask you, Mark, when you saw Kelvin,
did you knock his autograph book out of his hands?
Speaker 5 (23:51):
No?
Speaker 11 (23:51):
I could have because he was too busy signing autographs
for all the different media took up to him.
Speaker 3 (23:57):
Come on, man, you know what I'm saying this. Listen.
You know Monci has YouTube, he has a press box.
You know what I mean. I'm just signing autgressive the people. Unbelievable, Ahi, Rob.
Speaker 11 (24:06):
How do you like?
Speaker 1 (24:06):
Uh?
Speaker 11 (24:07):
You know the last year's coach. I've sure gotten Coach
of the year getting an extension after one year.
Speaker 3 (24:13):
Oh yeah, so JJ ready for you, broh. I thought
the Dodgers brought the team.
Speaker 4 (24:16):
I thought a real organization that brought the team and
they were going to do the thing the right way.
So I was a little shocked by that, especially the
performance in the postseason.
Speaker 1 (24:26):
Yeah, I saw JJ. He told me to tell you
take that for data.
Speaker 3 (24:30):
Yeah, all good?
Speaker 4 (24:31):
Told me to tell you that the media day, All right,
why is I just want to start here? Russell Westbrook
had nothing else to do. I'm just like Sacramento, like, like,
what is the purpose of that?
Speaker 3 (24:44):
Seriously, I'm asking.
Speaker 12 (24:45):
Mark for rob.
Speaker 11 (24:47):
The purpose is that they're the probably the only NBA
team that had a roster slot open, and he's once
to still prolong his career. Uh, the Sacramento Kings are
a hot mess. They're not going to go anywhere a
lot of individually talented players, but it's not going to
lead to winning basketball. And so I think it's fitting
at Russ as a part of that because we've seen
(25:09):
Russ be a competitive player, but ever since, you know,
his time with the Oklahoma City Thunder was ended, it
hasn't resulted in winning basketball. So we're just seeing the
latest stop. I mean, he's been filling out his passport
of almost playing for every single NBA team, So he
just checked another one.
Speaker 1 (25:27):
It is going to while considering, you know, let's say,
six seven years ago, how great he was MVP and
all that, and now to think he's just kind of
hopping from team to team. But I think if we
saw it in Denver, he can still contribute in the
right role.
Speaker 3 (25:38):
And let me ask you this. I want to go
to Winby and we one knows it's Wimby.
Speaker 4 (25:44):
Once I got that point, go ahead, every one knows
it's whim.
Speaker 3 (25:51):
So Winby.
Speaker 1 (25:52):
I'm glad NBA season, you know, I like that one Winby.
He looks strong, he looks serious. He obviously it's it's
a preseason. He's a little healthy, he is a monk,
he is ready to he's boud business now, even cut
his hair early on. So what do you expect for him?
We know he had the blood clout issue. How big
of a year is this for him and maybe even
the Spurs as a team.
Speaker 11 (26:12):
I think a huge year. I mean pencil him borrowing
another injury Defensive Player of the Year award. That's for
his to win the Spurs back and playoff contention. I
don't think that there are a contending status yet, but
they could be an entertaining team in either the playing
tournament or even the first round. I think that what
we saw with Victor Juan Binama that was promising. Not
(26:33):
only did he overcome the blood clot issue, but he's
doing all the things that you'd won in any NBA player,
especially a young talent studying the game, watching on film,
working out with a great like Takim Olajuan, who you know,
put other big heads spinning with all his amazing footwork
and post up moves. So it shows that he's going
to add another dimension to his game and the concerns
(26:56):
about his outside shooting. Maybe he'll still keep taking three
because that's the modern NBA, but he has that bread
and butter with that post up game and his passing skills.
So the sky's the limit for his entire career. But
I think the short term twenty five twenty six, I'm
penciling him down to win Defensive Player of the Year,
make his first All Star appearance, and make his first
(27:17):
playoff appearance.
Speaker 3 (27:18):
Will he win a Monk of the Year in the NBA.
Speaker 12 (27:20):
Two I think?
Speaker 11 (27:23):
I mean, who would be the other contenders here? Rob?
Speaker 4 (27:25):
Yeah, I'm interested about the whole monk thing, Like, seriously,
did he have to expounded on that at all? Has
anybody really got a deep dive on what's going on there?
Speaker 3 (27:33):
Like, seriously, like to be a monk and the goal?
I don't know if he was just visiting. I mean,
he did cut the hair he got the hand put
the roll on.
Speaker 12 (27:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 11 (27:40):
I mean, from my understanding, it's all under the guys
of you know, mindfulness and you know, not not many
NBA players have visited monks, but a lot of NBA
players have looked at the value of maximizing not just
like mental health, but just wellness with meditating and just
all those those kind of extra just because, no doubt,
(28:01):
it's a physical game, but when you have the mental mature,
you're able to handle a lot of adversity on the court,
whether it's adjusting to a role, fouls, not being called
your way, the physicality of another opponent. So I think
he's just checking every box of you know, trying to
make every potential variable into a strength.
Speaker 3 (28:20):
What about outside of all.
Speaker 4 (28:23):
The hidden Laker fans who are in the media who
last year said, oh, you know, Luca and Lebron, I
don't know, who are you afraid of? And out West
and everybody picked up and that they're going to the
Western Conference Finals and all that, and obviously it didn't
end that way.
Speaker 3 (28:41):
Where are you on them this year? Seriously?
Speaker 4 (28:44):
Because I don't feel any better about them this year,
even though Luca, you know, was maybe taking ozempic or
whatever I said. Maybe I didn't say he was taking it.
Whatever it is, Rob G got the plug, Rob G, right,
do you do you know?
Speaker 3 (28:56):
Have you seen that? You know Costco is selling it
half off that.
Speaker 4 (28:59):
I'm just asking where are you on the Lakers because
I don't feel like, yes, they're going to be in
the mix for the Western Conference Finals.
Speaker 3 (29:07):
I don't feel that way.
Speaker 11 (29:08):
Yeah, I see them as a playoff team, not a contender.
I think it's the Thunder and the Nuggets and the
Rockets could challenge them, but probably not. And then there's
a third tier of kind of dark horse candidates of
if everything goes their way. But with the Lakers, as
you allude to your up, there's a lot of question marks.
The most notable is Lebron James in his health and
(29:29):
when he's going to come back. We also have to
keep in mind that three to four week timeline that's
just when he's going to get re evaluated. The best
case scenario is when he's reevaluated, there he gets another
week to ramp up and start practicing, but he might
not even be cleared for that. But I think what's
going to happen here with the Lakers is Lebron will
still come back. He'll play it at a respectable level.
(29:51):
He'll make All Star because of where he's at in
his career. But it's Luka Doncicch carrying the team. I
put him as a favor to win MVP Weather. It's
a epic strength training, dieting, or all of the above.
He's in much better condition. And even when he was
so called overweight, he made five first All NBA teams.
So he's going to be able to carry the Lakers there.
(30:12):
But again, they're ceiling is only to make the playoffs
and maybe the second round. You know, they could be
that dark horse if they catch laying in a bottle.
But I think that there's just too many question marks,
especially with Lebron's health, to be in contendent status.
Speaker 1 (30:25):
Yeah, Luca and being in better shape, would I have
to go Luca would have to go nuclear in order
to get them to the final. I just don't think
they have enough right now. Obviously we'll see trade deadlines.
I'll get you out of here on this one. That's
say three to four months now. Gianna Santetakupo is where.
Speaker 11 (30:46):
Very good question, Calvin. I actually think he says to
the Bucks, I don't think he has it in him
to directly Yeah, I agree with you to trade him,
and I don't think the Bucks are ever going to
flinch on Les Slurd given directives. Now, I'm doing Ama
Kulpa because I thought all of last summer it was
a matter of when, not if he gets out of Milwaukee,
because I thought that he would ask behind the scenes
(31:08):
for them to trade him, and the Bucks would make
this tough decision to start over. But they have an
imperfect roster, but they did improve it relatively speaking with
get Miles Turner, waving Damian Lillard's contract, and they do
have some respectable rotation players like Kyle Kuzma, Gary Krooks,
Trent Junior. But when you look at the East, with
(31:28):
how loaded the Cleveland Cavaliers are, the New York Knicks
and the Magic having a good young core, it's not enough.
Even with the Boston Celtics and the Indiana Pacers being
out with you know, Jason Tatum and Tyrs Alburn with
achilles injuries, so they're going to be a team that
makes the playoffs. But it could be you had another
first round exit just gived.
Speaker 4 (31:48):
Me last thing one word answered, just is I'm going
to tell your name, and just tell me the first
thing that comes to your head, Zion Williamson.
Speaker 11 (32:00):
Uh, let's see, I'm trying to think of a one word.
It's tough.
Speaker 3 (32:05):
Well just give me just what are you? What's the
first thing that comes to your head?
Speaker 4 (32:07):
Now?
Speaker 11 (32:07):
Uncertainty? Okay, uncertainty. Yeah he's healthy now.
Speaker 1 (32:11):
But good looks that body is not prepared to take
the night jumps.
Speaker 3 (32:16):
Thank you, Mark. We appreciate your brother as always.
Speaker 11 (32:19):
Rob Calvin, you guys are the best and looking forward
to JJ Reddick got that Coach of the Year A
world gone.
Speaker 1 (32:24):
I just threw up in mob he did. Now I
got to deal with that. Thank you, Mark, appreciate it.
Speaker 3 (32:28):
Thank you, sir, no doubt.

Speaker 4 (34:07):
A well darkness, my old friend call in Mobile, Alabama.
You're on the Odd Couple of Fox Sports Radio and
you are the last call.
Speaker 12 (34:17):
Thanks a bunch. I had to get this one in. Uh,
this is gonna have to be the last call. Drop
the mic. As far as Russell Westbrook and I'm not
naming him specifically. I'm speaking in general terms. But I
grew up in an NBA city. When you see guys
play until their forties, it's nothing, it's about nothing but booty. Okay,
(34:37):
it's it's going from city to city. It's women in
every city. It's it's it's it's a team.
Speaker 3 (34:44):
It's a lifestyle.
Speaker 8 (34:45):
Call.
Speaker 3 (34:45):
I hear you, preach, preach.
Speaker 12 (34:48):
All of that's what it's all about. Let me let
me tell you a quick story. In San Antonio, I
was like one year out of high school or two,
maybe twenty hours about twenty twenty when we went to
a club on a Wednesday Thursday night. There was nobody
in there, and I looked to my left and I
see downtown Freddy Brown and Jack Sick must stand in
(35:10):
this club. I'm like, are you kidding me? And Downtown
Freddy Brown had to be in his forties and pushing fifty.
Speaker 4 (35:17):
No, I hear you, man, Hey, it is that lifestyle
that they can't give up.
Speaker 3 (35:22):
Oh no, he's right about the lifestyle. I don't.
Speaker 1 (35:24):
I'm not there's a lifestyle, but I do think it's
twenty twenty five. These dudes can they can have Like,
who was that shot Baxter Homes did the whole thing
about the tender be cutters.
Speaker 3 (35:32):
I think it was him. I no know.
Speaker 4 (35:33):
But you're not paying to not paying for hotel, you're
not paying for meals, like there's a lot of.
Speaker 3 (35:38):
Perks that you know.
Speaker 4 (35:39):
But I don't think. I don't think Russ is not
the city. Nobody said it Russ.
Speaker 3 (35:43):
We're not doing that. But I do agree. I get
that the lifestyle. I get this.
Speaker 4 (35:46):
There's a lifestyle there, so real quick. I don't think
I've ever seen a do rag And let me start
right now.
Speaker 3 (35:53):
That's you have. I'm just gonna stop just to make
sure it was one before. No, it's a do rag.
People wear a doe rags now.
Speaker 4 (35:59):
No MLB Marcus Stroman, who pitched for the Yankees, had
a do wag under his Yankee hat. Yes, yes, Marc Stroman, Yes,
George No, because that's just a part of what people
do now. Like seriously, the Yankees let them cut for
the first time. We're facial, so you know that.
Speaker 3 (36:17):
Let me say this. Okay, so you're a Marinis fan.
Speaker 4 (36:21):
Your team just won the two games in Toronto, you
come home, they get off to a to nothing start, but.
Speaker 3 (36:27):
Not the getting blasted.
Speaker 4 (36:29):
Do you leave early cause you know it's like Mancy
put Moncey's Michael on, Please Alex put the micael on?
Speaker 1 (36:36):
No, do you leave early Kelvin? Nope, not MLB both postseason,
heck no.
Speaker 3 (36:41):
That's part of it. Nope, not on postseason and not Mariners.
They haven't experienced this. See.
Speaker 4 (36:46):
I think there's a part of that. And I think
the fear is if you leave and they come back,
you run. You'll never live it down. What do we
talk about the game in Miami he where all the
people were banging in the trying to get back in
because they left early. They know it was over. Well,
(37:07):
there's a football game, but they let them back in.
What was there was everybody flooding back in. It was
another It was the same thing where it's team and
people let them make I think it was. Was it
the Colts when they came back from the Chiefs. There
was a game like that where everybody start flooding back in.
You literally can see them flooding back in.
Speaker 3 (37:22):
I think you're right.
Speaker 4 (37:23):
When it comes to a regular season game, I'm out
of here. A postseason game in Seattle where you think
this team has a chance to get to the World Series.
Speaker 3 (37:33):
You might only have tickets for one night, and can
you imagine you leave and then crazier things have happened.
You want to be a part of that.
Speaker 1 (37:41):
And also think, even in the loss, it's a postseason
so like y'all want to be there the whole game
feeling enjoy it. You know it's a postseason game, not
a random Tuesday night. And yeah, you know, Baltimore, I
got work tomorrow. No, we're staying here. We're gonna rive up,
and you get the team making sure to let them
know we're here, feeling good. Don't worry, abody, we already
got to we lost. This postseason is a whole beat.
And again that pressure hits different. You get a couple
(38:04):
of runs one inning, a couple of runs. Now you're
in the eighth of the nine, you're only down two them,
pictures start feeling a little tight.
Speaker 4 (38:09):
A bloop and a blast. Yeah all you said before,
you know it all right? I just I don't think
anybody would leave.
Speaker 3 (38:15):
I'm with you.
Speaker 4 (38:16):
I think it would be crazy to leave. Look at
the stands, they're still packed. Nlb's postseason Man, you're feeling good.
You're enjoying it, like you said. Plus they feel good to.
We're up to so I'm just hanging out now. We'll
just have a good time. The Jason Smith Show with
Mike
