Speaker 1 (00:00):

at Fox Sports Radio dot com, or stream us live

(00:26):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. Yes, indeed it is
the I Couple. I'm Chris, he is Robbed, and we are,
of course live from these famous Fox Sports Radio studios
and prices. Folks are soaring. I filled up my gas
thank today. Ouch. It hurt, but Discover feels your pain.

(00:50):
Discoverers got your back, and they got your back with cash.
So here's our works. You use Discover and or fibers
in cash back at gas stations and Target stores. I'm
gonna leave out this now through June because it ain't June,
being up to fifteen hundred dollars in purchases. When you activate,

(01:13):
you learn more Discover dot Com. Slash rewards limitations do apply.
We got olden polonies, old schooler, former NBA vet coming
up at the bottom of the hour. Rob. It'll be
interesting to hear his thoughts. Yeah, on this new school.
But I do want to I do want to push
back on you because you said, you know, you filled

(01:34):
up an ouch. But Rob g and Alex, I'm almost
sure that Chris doesn't even know how much the price
of gas is, because you know, when you're rolling like that,
you just pull up to the pump and say, fill
it up. You don't even know how much it is
a gallon. Chris has no idea how much it is
a gallon. It sounded I do, it's about five thirty

(01:54):
five something like that. In Jersey forty year it's up there. Well, y'all,
y'all almost seven, right, Rob? How much? Seven? Yeah? Guzzler?
You got well, Rob. I actually buy my gas at
places where I know it's cheaper because I know that
where you live, you don't bother to leave, like the
seven minutes of the town lives in the hood, No,

(02:21):
like dude, Yeah, literally, when we were in the hood,
we both lived in South Central. When we first got
to LA I had no problems. I walked around South
Central like just enjoying the scenery, real talk, stuck go homes,
tree lawns. Oh yeah, I mean really, I used to

(02:41):
have nice walks out there, you know in La I
know they bad. I know them brothers out there bad.
But the scenery ain't bad. No, the scenery is pretty
as nice. It's just that you know, sometimes ripping, sometimes
drop g in order to see the palm trees, you
have to look through barred windows. But that's all the
windows out there. Bar I think that's like us, uh,

(03:06):
you gotta be but really windows are barred in in
in at least south central right, rob G. How much
is gas? So where you you're going to COSTCO? I
go to COSTCO much. I pay about six dollars six
oh five, so my god, six oh five is it?
But is how's the quality of that gas? Gas? To
ask that question, No, gas is not the same where

(03:28):
it all comes from the same place. What what is
a different home? Man's not it's not the same. It's Alex,
thank you. I'm a big car guy. So yeah, there's
a reason why it's rated like eighty nine, ninety one,
ninety three. It's it's a big difference of how much
tar and whatnot your engine will build up over time.
So that's why supreme gas is recommended for everybody. So
I'm just there's a difference that answer your question, Rob Parkers, Yes, Sally,

(03:53):
that was knowledge, thank you. But here's the other thing though,
Alex and you might have knowledge on this. What about
the gas stations. You have your VP oils, your shells,
and then you have ones that you know, Magbie independent.
You don't know what the name is, right, they just
random state that different. Oh yeah, I've seen places called

(04:14):
like just gas and stuff like that, or speedsters. Yeah.
I don't touch places that don't have a well renowned
fan base you could say, or fantom or franchise because
like Shell Chevron, they add o their things to their
gas to help eliminate tar build up and all that stuff.
So it's you get with texts that kind of stuff.
Rob Parker thought he was being funny. I'm just saying,

(04:35):
I'm kind in a smart way like I'm just saying
it's not clearly did you messed with the vegan and
you just got school all? I add a little water
to my gas more rights. You want a fun fact, CYB.

(04:57):
So here's one for everybody out there. If you want
to get more bang for your buck for money, wise,
fill up your gas tank in the morning because you'll
have less fumes in your gas tanks. You get more
for your money's worth. There's a hot take, yes, sir,
to answer your question about Costco, they are top tier gas,
which is like shell Chell. You know, yeah, you got
s according to that helps you sleeping night, Just saying

(05:19):
and you know that if this is a fun fact
for all anyone who's trying to you know what it says,
you get you know what the all needs says. On
the gas, you get wash gass, whatever its, it'll get
you there. I'm trying to educate America. And you want
to get drunk on a budget. Okay, the the people

(05:39):
who make Gray Goose vodka also make Kirkland vodka. Yea
the same thing if you want to get the same
drink price for half the prize because they don't get
the little gooses on the bottles off the Costco. But
that might work for alcohol, but it does two for food.
Like trying to make sure you know tonight, I would

(06:02):
not vouch for Costco if it if it wasn't true.
I do like Costco. It's just like Chris, we got
our two weeks we biscuits right. Pillsberry makes the no
name brand biscuits too. Do you know that? Well? Then
why are you walking around in four hundred dollars air, Jegan,
Why don't you get the boardings that you bought me

(06:25):
or gave me last what's that name? Shoes? Let me
say this, speaking of that, I was in Africa, and
this is around two thousand and six, right, and you
know I was wearing some Nikes, just you know, nice
Nike track shoes in Africa. Weren't there anything? No, no, no,

(06:47):
no no. See, Africa wasn't like that. Man. They had everything.
We had to do a lesser degree, but it had everything.
And so it was some brothers over there. So one
brother in particularly, we've been showing me around and he
was dying to get my shoes and he had on
some like Nikes as well, right, And I was like, dude,
what you got Nikes? I'm seeing Nikes being sold on

(07:10):
the street. What are you talking about these so much? Rights?
He was like, these are like from China. You know,
they're not real. I couldn't tell rob, right. I believe
that quality looked decent, you know what, but he knew
right there they didn't make shift ones. Yeah. The other
thing too, when you go to some foreign countries, if
you have anything with sports paraphernalia like a Yankee jacket

(07:35):
or you know what I mean, or a Dodger shirt.
They want those. That's what they want. They want the
authentic stuff because the stuff that they sell is not legit.
I'm gonna ask you, guys, Rob g Rob p Alex
weigh in if you had if somebody gave you some
imitation Jordan's and you looked at them left and right,

(07:56):
up and down, top and bottom, and you couldn't tell. Now,
maybe there's something in the inside I don't know, but
you outside you couldn't tell, but you knew they were fake.
And if you warn people wouldn't know. Would you still
support them? Absolutely? Yes? Absolutely not really, as we see

(08:18):
who's the bougie went? I just you know, it's funny.
I just gave the very definition. I just don't want.
Why Why am I gonna wear anything fake? Like? I
don't get Rob. We could argue most you demand that
shops if ross right, but it's not five yeah, okay,
because the people's spirit y four dollars. All right. Let

(08:45):
me let you in a little sacred that Gucci, those
Gucci payt you bought for three ninety nine, they weren't Gucci. Okay,
they were Gucci Gucci. Alright, now they were Ucci rob
that's what they were. All right, let's get to this topic,
all right. Kyrie Irving, we don't even wants to go

(09:06):
to the Lakers. Brian Winhorse, who I gotta be honest.
Windhorse has been out front of a lot of this stuff,
and so you take you don't take what he says lightly.
So here he is on the Nets situation. The Nets
don't know what they're trading Kevin Durant for. This is
Windy speaking. They may not want to trade. They may

(09:27):
not want to do a trade with Kyrie Irving that
takes on money. You may take on a bunch of
money when you're doing Kevin Durant trade. You don't know
what your books are going to look like. Okay, here's
the money part. The Nets have no interest in accommodating
Kyrie Irving. They have no interest in doing it. If
it comes up, maybe a three team trade or a

(09:49):
fourteen trade to get the Nets satisfied with what they
want to get them, Maybe a start to take draft
picks from Phoenix and reroute them somewhere else. Kyrie might
get thrown into the at four team trade Justice salary blast.
He's going to be used as a tool to help
the Nets. And one more thing, let me throw these

(10:11):
out from Sam Amick. He talks about the Lakers Nets
trade involving Kyrie and I'm gonna comment quickly on this robe.
The frameworker of a deal could look something like this,
Irving and a second Nets player, Seth Curry, the newly
acquired Royce O'Neill day Ryn Sharp in exchange for Westbrook
and the Lakers twenty twenty seven and twenty twenty nine picks.

(10:35):
Let me say this, Rob, first round picks. I don't
want the Lakers twenty twenty seven and twenty twenty nine
first round picks. Are they gonna be any good? No,
I don't need another bottom of the first round pick.
And let me say this. I get the value of

(10:56):
first round picks, but they are so overblown, folks. This
is a Ponzi scheme that many of these gems are running.
All right, I got nine first round picks, so what
how many lottery picks of the Sacramento Kings had lately? Rob,
thank you and Chris, That's exactly the point. I'm one

(11:20):
with you. It's just ridiculous. And they go to these
owners and they put up their power points and say, yeah,
our team sucks right now, but we got nine first
round picks in the next three years. We're gonna turn
it around. Meanwhile, most first round picks don't pan out,

(11:40):
and Rob, you know this, most lottery picks don't pan out.
That's just a little tangent for y'all. Okay, But what
I want to get you, Rob, is the notion that
the Nets won't help Kyrie. Well, let me just say this.
ESPN's day mcmenimon, right, yeah, reported in the last hour

(12:02):
that a deal could also be Kyrie, Kyrie and Joe
Harris for Westbrook, THHT and another first round pick. I
am I trying. Why do I want Russell Westbrook? I
just don't know. And those weak picks THHT and bad picks,
and then you're also giving up Joe Harris and a

(12:24):
three point shooting league when they're all assuming is that
the Nets are gonna tank, right, that the Nets are like,
you know what, we're the I mean, Rob, I would
have thank for what thank for? You know what? I'm like?
I mean, you obviously you got up and coming young players,
but there's no guarantee you're gonna get the number one pick,

(12:45):
and I was, I'm close. I just don't feel like
going to the bottom again. If I'm the Nets, I mean,
I'm gonna try my darndist not too If. If at
the end of the day, I can't get any good players,
really like legitimate players, stars right now and some draft
picks for the future, then you know, maybe at the

(13:08):
end of the day, I settled for that. But I
also don't have to rush into a deal, certainly not
with Kevin Durant. I ain't gotta rush. I'm with you.
I don't get it. I'm I'm gonna take my time.
I'm not going to pacify Kyrie. I'm just going to

(13:28):
do what's best for the NETS organization. I'm not taking
west Westbrook. Can you imagine you went from Durant and
Kyrie to Westbrook and thht Really? I mean again, if
they like, they're gonna completely buy them out, and that's
obviously would be cap room for him. I guess maybe
room for whom ran that's the problem. I gotta get

(13:50):
a player, a star for Durant, Chris who's already under contract.
That's what I need. Yeah, you're right, and Donovan Mitchell
makes all the sense in the world, right, but they
can't trade. You can't. So maybe you start shopping Simmons.
Maybe if Simmon, here's me, how about this rob Next
year is an audition. Next year's one big audition. Let's

(14:13):
see what Ben Simmons. If Ben Simmons comes out bawling
and and durand Kyrie sit out whatever, who knows what
they do, then I can trade him. Right if he
shows it mentally he's right and his game is hot,
then I can trade him, get off him, and then

(14:33):
I can get a better deal when I do pay
Durant right of all the I'm telling you, Durant, you
might want to buckle up because if I'm the Nets' man,
I'm not. I'm not working on Durant or Kyrie's timeline, right,
you might You might just want to get ready for
training camp. If if I was running the Nets all

(14:56):
right eight seven seven ninety nine Fox eight seven seven
nine nine sixty three sixty nine, you'll turn the way in. Uh,
what do you think about the Nets saying they will
not accommodate the report saying that the Nets feel like
they will not accommodate Kyrie. They're not gonna help him
get to the Lakers. If you get a good deal
with that, fine. Otherwise they're not playing at his pace

(15:20):
or k D space, you'll turn away. Inn I Couple,

(16:27):
Irving and the Nets, Rob, you you are big on.
If you don't want to be here. I don't want you,
so would you do? I sound like a divorce man,
but that's another story. Would you like by pretty much?
By all means, trade k D and Kyrie before. I'm

(16:50):
not giving them away. No, I'm just I'm not giving
anybody away. It's a part of the franchise. It hurts
the value of the franchise. Chris. I'm not. I don't
want them to be there, but I'm not gonna kill myself.
You know what I mean to pacify them. I made
a commitment to k D a game one hundred and
ninety eight million dollars. I dude, three hundred and twelve

(17:14):
and he played ninety games. This guy has the audacity
to be like, oh, I'm out. I mean, these guys
are Chris, this is a bigger issue. You talked about
it earlier about David Stern and and and Adam Silver.
I mean, I'm gonna tell you his commissionership is going
sideways side. Well, look, he's been certainly a quote unquote

(17:38):
players commissioners. I wrong, they're taking advantage of it. Yes,
they're taking advantage of and look and let me say this,
And I don't know if you agree, Rob, don't blame
this on Lebron James. Yes, Lebron James is rightfully known
as the author of player empowerment. Yes, Lebron James has

(18:00):
you know, in his way and worked the system. But Rob,
he always was professional and he always lived up to
his contracts. He did. And you for all the drama
you heard from Lebron teams, right, I need more help.

(18:20):
These guys can't play, We need a new coach whatever,
you never heard trade me. And that's the biggest thing.
And here's the other thing. Rob Lebron delivered Cleveland Championship,
Miami championships, Lakers championship. A lot of these other guys

(18:44):
aren't delivering championships, and they're not fulfilling their contracts, their obligations.
Lebron always played out the contract and then as a
free agent, he used he took his rights as a
free agent and did what he wanted to do. Let me,

(19:05):
what do you do, Chris? Now, Okay, the league at
that point, yeah, you're the league. You're the owners seeing
this happen time and time again. Now going this is
just we're being fleeced. We have no say. Nope, they
want us to give them two hundred million dollar contracts,
but they don't want to honor the contracts, you know,

(19:26):
like it's just oh, signed me. Now I'm getting out
of here, and there's nothing you can do. I mean,
I mean, would anybody be surprised if, let's say Zion's
healthy after he plays next season's great, and then he
demands the trade. Would anybody be surprised? Oh wow, it
really looks like he just signed that five year deal
to get the money and get out of here, you know.

(19:47):
And I'm not trying to. I'm just throwing out a
Zion because he's the latest to sign. I'm not trying to.
You're not trying to search his character or anything. But
here's what I do, Rob, here's something big. I would
you and I have talked about this. I would if
I'm the owners and you and I have always been

(20:08):
players guys. I was talking to a former player I'm
trying to remember, or maybe it's an executive today. It
was an executive, and I said, look, I always have
been a players guy. But the owners they got to
get this under control, right, the governor's whatever you want
to call them, all right, because this is a different

(20:33):
type of business. It don't compare it to something else.
Sometimes you can, but a lot of times you can't.
Competition is paramounts, Chris, I'm glad you just said that.
Without competition you have the WWE, right this, okay it.
Competition is very important and once you make something that's

(20:56):
non competitive, you will lose people. There's no doubt about it.
Like they will go, I can't watch this anymore. This
is a soap opera. And can I get out rob
on their players being there that they you know they're
They're just jumping around left and right. I'm not right,

(21:18):
what are they like? I'm telling you it's not. Here's
another thing too, And I don't know how you do this,
but during the NBA finals, and I think this is bad.
This is another element instead of talking about the games
and the moments and the plays and the strategy, it's

(21:41):
Draymond Green popping off every day, right Like, seriously, Chris,
did we talk about the games? We don't even talk
about the games? And they really are and any other sport, yes,
because they got the biggest social media press sense, their

(22:01):
athletes are the most well known um and they're quite
frankly for the most part, not all in every sense,
but the most colorful, you know, personalities, UM and so
and Rob, Rob, David Stern and I thought it was great.
But maybe this is it to the degree he marketed

(22:24):
individuals right more so than teams. And maybe this is
it to the eth taken too far. But I will
here's what I would do. You ask me Rob, if
I'm the owner, I'm fighting for this. I'm fighting for
what you and I have said many times. Kevin Durant,

(22:46):
you got four years left on your deal? Or Kyrie
Irvy you got one year left on your deal. You
don't want to play, you're requesting the trade. Oh, you're
not gonna show up for training camp? Okay, you don't
get paid If you don't show up for work. You
don't get If you and I Rob just decided we're
not showing up for work period, trust me, we won't

(23:06):
get paid. Okay, that's what. You can do that and
we'll let you know when we find a suitable trade.
But you will not get trade or get paid. Maybe
that'll do something. Now here's the challenge. Well, let me
throw the challenge at you. Players might show up and

(23:29):
what if they fake an injury? No, Chris, how can
we have doctors that can can determine whether or not
a guy really has a hamstring injury or a back spasms. Well,
I know, I mean well, well, well faking well, I
mean obviously that's always a case, and you gotta be

(23:51):
careful with that as well, because you remember, um, there's
a fraud. You know, like, if there's fraud, Chris, what
you do it? That consurance for all? You know what
they do? Right for the guy who heard herself on
the job. They follow this guy around and then they
show him, right, they show him on vacation on a ski. Dude, no, right,

(24:14):
but you're right. Let's get we got we got a
former NBA player, uh from the old school, olden polonies,
olden what's up? Brother? Man? It's always great to have
you on the show. You know that. How you guys doing, Man,
we're good and we're talking about all these players. Now,
what do you do trees with long term deals? Kate?
He's got four years left on this deal that we

(24:36):
said we had carry kittles on earlier. He was like,
can you imagine David Stern with this? And so we're
the lead, we feel, and we've always been player first guys,
and I'm sure you have too. But that something has
got to be done old and and I think the
owners are gonna do it and hammered these players in
the next collective gardener, What are your thoughts on it

(24:59):
and what do you think can or should be done.
I definitely think the owners are gonna do something now.
Whether they can get it done or not, it's a
different story because it has gotten out of hands. You
cannot sign a contract and have four years left and
all of a sudden you want to leave, right. I mean,
you have the right to ask the trades, but I

(25:20):
think you know, you got at least on a most
of your contract and maybe that's something they could put in.
You know, you cannot request the trade unless it's like
a year or two lefts. But the problems is the
players have gotten a lot more power, and it's because
it's been given to them, I mean wholeheartedly. Now, it's

(25:40):
like I'm from the school of, Hey, you signed a contract,
I don't care what you request. You know, you're either
gonna play or we're gonna suspend you and get our
money back. That's me. But unfortunately nowadays you know a
lot of these general managers you know who are former players,
and some know what they're doing. Some don't, but you know,

(26:03):
it's that whole you know, a lot of it is nepotism.
A lot of it is just you know, who do
you know? Who are you friends with? And it comes
to bite people in the butt. You know a lot
of times, like Steve Knights never should have been the
head coach of the book on Nets. I don't care
how good a player he was, And so it made
for bad business because Kyrie never got along with him,
and Kadie never really got along with her, but they

(26:25):
signed off on him. To think, we talk about Kadie,
he's bailing on Nash too. Well, that's the new norm. Okay,
when Lebron went to Miami, that became the new norm.
This is a copycat league. So now the new norm is,
you know, I can sign off on somebody if I'm
not happy, I'm leaving. James Harden's done it how many times?

(26:47):
And so it's like, this is the new norm. Guys,
see what's happening. But no one's doing the new norm
of honoring your contract, playing hard, playing regularly. You know,
nobody's doing that anymore. And older here's the other thing
I was gonna bring up to Chris before you jumped on,
and whether what they can do any other thing too?

(27:09):
About players who take a what they call it when
they don't play load managed matter, right, I give I
give you zeros across your stat line. Zeros, okay, seriously,
And that would change people, and whether or not because
you're scoring your average, everything would go down if you

(27:30):
get zeros and you're not playing but you're not injured.
I mean, I like that. I like that a lot
because it will force you to play if I don't
want to. I don't want to pay money and watch
a guy in his wardrobe. I know most of these players.
I know everything in their closets. We should not know
every wardrobe you have, and you ain't the contra. Now,

(27:55):
if you're hurt, okay, I'm sorry, I always use that word.
If you're injured, right, you should at least try to play.
You know, most of these guys, they don't know the
different between hurt and injured. And here's the other thing too.
You're gonna turn the fan base off kids. You know,
parents are spending olden four hundred dollars two fifty whatever

(28:15):
it is to get tickets. It's your kid's tenth birthday.
He wants to see his favorite NBA player. He's not hurt, right,
he's not injured. He decides gonna take the night off.
You keep doing that, the people people are gonna be like,
I'm not putting any money out for tickets. I'm not
gonna do this. It's not gonna happen. They'll just go
to corporate corporations. They'll tell corporate tickets. It's not gonna happen,

(28:39):
you know, because it's unfortunate, because that's the mindset. And
then there's gonna be the people, Well you're not getting it,
Well I go get it from somebody else, you know.
Oh wow, the tickets are available now, and now I'm
on that, you know, standby list. I get the tickets.
That's not what's gonna stop it. What's gonna stop it
is a team and a job maaguer that says enough
is enough. Somebody's gonna have to be the adult in

(29:02):
the room. And right now it's not happening. And again
I don't I have no moles with guys getting paid.
I have no need to do us, you know, but
they have to be some common sense used and also
some form of you know, a situational away where guys
are honoring what they've signed and given me something for

(29:27):
two hundred million dollars or whatever their manta, no doubt. Now, look,
we've heard player Charles Barkley, Walt Frasier, players of the
older generation criticize KD for what summers say, we are
easy championships or what have you do you Roberts said

(29:48):
that he thinks that KD lost a lot of respect
basketball basketball character, in basketball respect because of this trade demand.
What is your view? One did well? First of all,
you know, if winning a championship was easy, everybody would
do it. So let's stop with the with the madness.

(30:09):
There's no such thing as an easy championship. They're all
are hard to get. A lot of people wish they
had championships. Now, speaking on behalf of myself and myself only,
I don't think Kevin Durant really cares what people think
and we need to stop doing I disagree. I disagree

(30:30):
with that. He wouldn't be, He wouldn't be. Let me.
I know, I know he I know, he gets no,
he gets you know, he has a little burner accounts
and all that he does get Beside something I don't.
I don't think if he didn't care, he wouldn't be
doing that stuff. But I do believe no, buts no,
as far as like the decision he made, I don't
think he cares what people think about that, you know, not,

(30:52):
you know, he does worry what people say about him.
I know that he's he's somewhat we minded that way.
And it's a bad trait to have at such a
great player, because you've worked really hard to get where
you are. But I do believe to a certain extent
it is taking a hit only because now you're like,
you're just like everybody else. Now you're you're another James

(31:15):
Harden basically, you know. And so to me, if you
keep running when things get tough, that's a bad look
on anybody's present, you know. And so to me that's
it's the fact that things aren't going well. Well, let
me get out of here, things aren't going well, come
and see, well, let me go join the warriors. I

(31:35):
didn't have a pody with him join the warriors. But
it's like you don't join them after what just happened,
you know, and leaving Blust with four years still under
your on your contract, come on, man, be old man.
Don't follow Kyrie. Don't just lead the team. You're a
great player. Lead the team right now, you're right on

(31:56):
the money. We appreciate your great weekend. All right, bye,
you guys, do the same. Be sure to catch live

I discovered Matches. All the cash back you've earned at

You learn more at discover dot com. Slash match limitations
do apply, all right, Rob, it's Bobby Bonilla day. Not

(33:22):
as fun as him, that's right, Yes, Bobby. As people
might know or might not know, this is the day
that he goes to his bank account Chris and looks
at the direct deposit for one point two million dollars
and what is his twenty twenty he retire? Yeah, oh yeah,

(33:42):
he hasn't played in a long time. I don't have
it in front of me. But so he just how
did that? How did that explain? Does how that? So?
The Mets old him six million dollars, but instead of
paying them, they remember they were caught up in the
Birdie made off Chris right, Ponzi scheme. The Mets well
after him though, no, no, no, but they were having financials.

(34:05):
He retired in O one, but they thought back then,
they thought they were going to be getting the fifteen
and twenty percent interest that they were getting from the
Ponzi scheme. Right, that collapsed, so then that all that
money that they were raking in disappeared. So they decided, well,

(34:28):
so they wold. So they thought that when they made
the deal, they'd have no problem paying that because they
were making so much money on the Ponzi scheme. But anyway,
I don't know why you would make a six million
dollar debt into one that lasts all these years and
he still has Chris. This is twenty twenty two. It

(34:50):
doesn't end till twenty thirty five if he has thirteen
more years. So he didn't purposely defer. You're in contract negotiations,
say I want my money, I want some of my
money later. No, Rob, I think, don't you think that
that would be smart? I mean, look, sometimes the superman's gout.

(35:13):
You know, they're making so much money that I don't
know if they need to defer it, right, But in
some cases it'd be smart to defer. Um. Let me,
you know what, you give me a million a year
until I'm sixty. Now I'm still getting a lot, now,
you know what I'm saying. Yeah, it just depends. I

(35:34):
think there's something to it and cat purposes. But I'm
just saying, but your money can work better for you sometimes.
What happens if they if you invested smart, right, if
they if they have an issue or the owner you
know what I mean, like can't pay or I don't know,
Like there's some reasons that you don't want to do

(35:55):
that where you're putting your trust in somebody else, not
knowing what the future whole, right instead of saying, I
can take the forty million this year or spread it
out over but anyway, Chris, Bobby Bunia's deal is not
the greatest deal of all time. You know that it is.
It is the spirit of Saint Louis who built the NBA. Yes, Christ,

(36:17):
how I wish I was those guys. Those guys were
the smartest guys. And basically what they did was when
the ABA and NBA were going to merge, they said, well,
we'll fold our franchise, but we gotta get Chris one
seventh from each franchise, or nearly two percent of the
entire NBA money TV money. Now, Chris, here's the part

(36:41):
in perpetuity. How did they get a deal in perpetuity forever? Like,
that's the part I don't get twenty years ten years. Right, Okay,
what did the NBA finally do, Chris? They were paying
these guys an exorbitant amount of money every year. Finally
the NBA said, we gotta strike a deal. We can't
do this, We're not gonna pay you anymore. They paid

(37:03):
them eight hundred million dollars Chris to get lost, to
go Away. That was in twenty twenty eight hundred millions.
The Spirit of St. Louis. Nobody even knows that franchise.
You are, right, And I remember him because I had
basketball cards? Am I right? Players on their teams? Yeah,
that's your best stealing sports without question, without question. There's

(37:28):
no if, says or butts about it. So all right, man,
So you in Detroit? When did you? How long are
you gonna be there? So until I'll be in New
York on Sunday. So just to today and tomorrow and
then I'm heading to New York. I enjoy yourself. See
you on Monday. Right, we got a show? Yeah, yeah,
I'll be here loud and clear. All right, everybody, have

(37:49):
a great weekend, Happy Fourth of July. Although Robbing, I'll
be working there. We can talk to you then, but
keep it locked right here on Fox Sports Radio. We
got Jason Smith and Mike Harmon up next. And you
know what those dudes do. They bring fire.
