It's been beautiful to see Tokyo.

Speaker 5 (01:31):
Was that Abu Dhabi Dubai dubai because I thought you're
gonna start singing a little song when I saw it earlier.

Speaker 4 (01:36):
We don't have it anymore. Everyone knows in twins.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
You can get that. We had to get to what
happens to the Dubai song. We had to say goodbye
to it.

Speaker 5 (01:44):
Remember we all say goodbye, you say hello, We said goodbye.

Speaker 4 (01:48):
Say Dubai Dubaida.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
I jumped on a playing with guys, went to dub
your own song.

Speaker 5 (01:58):
You wrote it, Remember that's how I know you paid
writers el oh man No, but it was a Dubai
just you know, as the time key's getting closer to
you know, obviously the East coast here in the States
and and uh we're out here on the West coast.
But it's been amazing to see just throughout the You
even brought it up. We were talking off the here

(02:18):
just how like the world is just all signed on
an agreed like all right, here's time.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
There's no debate, no debate, Like we can't agree on anything,
and I don't understand how we agree.

Speaker 4 (02:30):
Like the time zone, disagree and everything.

Speaker 6 (02:32):
You well, you just agree that we don't agree or
we I just think we're doing time wrong.

Speaker 5 (02:36):
No, But I'm saying, well, even if we're doing it wrong,
we agreed that we're doing like this is the way.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
We're gonna do it.

Speaker 5 (02:41):
That we just had to decide on something. Yeah, And
that's what I'm saying. Somebody could have said no right now.
You can think Australia can say no, actually it's actually
we're Thursday right exactly.

Speaker 6 (02:50):
Like some people do that because daylight saving times, isn't it.
I brought that up, but I brought that up to him.
I said that.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
I was like, you know, Arizona, a couple of states don't.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
Even But that's minor compared to somebody saying, no, it's
a whole new day.

Speaker 4 (03:00):
It's a whole new day, and we're not.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
Our day is twelve hours.

Speaker 4 (03:04):
We're not following what the West is doing.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
Our day is twelve hours, not twenty four hours.

Speaker 4 (03:08):
Right, That's what I mean, Alex. I think that's incredible.

Speaker 5 (03:10):
Look you normally I would want to argue with you,
but I'll tell you what, we can't agree on anything
as a society. That's pretty that's pretty impressive because we
don't agree on anything, and it's.

Speaker 4 (03:19):
Not like it's not like Australia.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
They celebrated it ten minutes before the strike of twenty
you know what I mean, Like it's.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
They were in their own world. This morning.

Speaker 5 (03:29):
I was going, you know, do my news show, and
I'm like, why who's going crazy on my TV right now?
They're like, it's Australia twenty twenty five. I was like,
oh already. It's beautiful to me to wipe the call
in my eye. Yet I've been to Australia. I have
not been. It's on the list and the.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
Darling Harbor and the Opera House there is it just
it is spectacleic good I'm not even like good enough
spectacular I got. I was on the boat headed towards
on the Darling Harbor, heading towards the Opera House Chill
Bump lives up to the ok. It's just such a
beautiful spectacle to see. And I remember seeing it in

(04:07):
history books when I was a kid. So to be
on there and then to be going heading towards that
and see it, it's.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
On its top two maybe on the list of like
next big place you.

Speaker 5 (04:17):
Got to go to.

Speaker 4 (04:18):
You got that somewhere. You got to deaf We were
we were.

Speaker 5 (04:20):
Getting it in and then obviously had kids and it
slowed everything down, but we we gyp to.

Speaker 4 (04:23):
You gotta get there.

Speaker 5 (04:24):
That's on the list, obviously. Want to see the pyramids
on the Nile. Been to South Africa. Cape Town never
been absurdly beautiful. Cape Town. I mean it's literally it's
Malibu Robin Island where they had Nelson Mandela for twenty
something thirty years almost, So you got to go there.
Patroya is another city and they got to go in
the Safari. I saw Mufossa walk right by me. I
was like, what in the what in the one? And

(04:46):
Akuda Matata is going on. Yeah, So that's probably my
favorite place. South Africa's amazing. Been in Spain and Italy.
I've not been there. I've not gone that far. In
Japan twice.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
Beautiful everybody you can back. Yes, that's a couple of
people at the other job.

Speaker 5 (05:03):
They they starting now and they're New Yorkers too, and
they go regularly. They've gone now like to retirement. And
Alex when I took the bullet train.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
Oh man, just like, why can't we have guys.

Speaker 4 (05:14):
We're greedy.

Speaker 1 (05:16):
But it's unbelievable. The thing that when you're on it,
you don't feel normal. You feel normal, like like you're
just on a regular train and.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
Think about ros like a plane too. Yeah, because the
plane is going so fast it feels normal. Ye.

Speaker 4 (05:28):
Right.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
But then when you go past the station and it's
you can see and you go by and you're like,
oh my god, is this train off the track? Yeah,
it's like it's like you're going past like the stationary stuff.

Speaker 5 (05:43):
They have those speed trains and to get you know,
from country country in Europe too, and you're just like,
we are floating right now. It is crazy. Yeah, there
you go. Look at you got your little travel our
travel talk talk to you by the odd couple on
a trash talking or should we call it a travel
talking Tuesday.

Speaker 4 (05:57):
But one guy who somebody hopes isn't gonna be dry?

Speaker 7 (06:01):
Was that mean?

Speaker 2 (06:02):
What was that woo?

Speaker 4 (06:04):
That was me?

Speaker 2 (06:04):
What in our city hall?

Speaker 4 (06:06):
Who woo.

Speaker 5 (06:09):
Woo?

Speaker 4 (06:10):
Hey?

Speaker 2 (06:11):
What's been the best part about it?

Speaker 4 (06:12):
Alex?

Speaker 2 (06:13):
Alex, His woop woop wasn't even fast. It was slow.
I thought the.

Speaker 8 (06:17):
Point was speed? How fast it putting the train up?
Did a grandma drive by me or a bullet train.
All right, you're last year frash talking in on four.
I got whoopy cough, what is it?

Speaker 3 (06:35):
Woo?

Speaker 2 (06:37):
You're trying to say no whoop. That's why I say wop.

Speaker 7 (06:41):
Damn.

Speaker 5 (06:42):
It sounds like the current Rock Parker that keeps saying
the air. It's right there. We gotta get to get.

Speaker 3 (06:49):
Rob.

Speaker 2 (06:50):
Ain't got no air right now? What's going on?

Speaker 9 (06:52):
What is going on?

Speaker 5 (06:53):
Rob?

Speaker 2 (06:54):
Let me find that all the summer you got asthm,
but never stole.

Speaker 4 (06:58):
I don't don't put that out there.

Speaker 2 (06:59):
You know, fastest bullet train was? How fast was it?

Speaker 5 (07:02):
Rob?

Speaker 2 (07:02):
It was this fast Rob that didn't really sound fast.

Speaker 4 (07:06):
Don't sell that fast?

Speaker 5 (07:08):
All right?

Speaker 4 (07:09):
All right, let's go here.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
So Mike Freeman column is for USA Today, Yes, yes, column,
and he because John Guden's name, I guess, is copping
up people all of a sudden, jobs jobs coming up,
Bill Belichick bout out. So there's one viable coach who's
not going to be in the mix.

Speaker 5 (07:28):
And it's gonna be about six to seven opening, right,
So there's openings, and and John Gouden wants to get
back into coaching, and we know he got fired, said
some pretty mean, despicable stuff.

Speaker 2 (07:41):
Some emails that when I got out about.

Speaker 1 (07:43):
And my thing is when people talk about that, oh
they were supposed to get out.

Speaker 4 (07:47):
You shouldn't be saying that.

Speaker 1 (07:48):
And company email that that is uh that that.

Speaker 4 (07:53):
Management or or ownership, they own it. They own it.

Speaker 5 (07:57):
You know that if they give you the email to
give you a Clinton Hillary Clinton like on you know,
government emails. Yeah, you can't when you it's not like
somebody hacked his own personal phone and he was talking
smack with his homies, says we are you.

Speaker 1 (08:09):
In your basement or somebody recorded you without you knowing
or something of that ilk.

Speaker 4 (08:13):
But once you.

Speaker 1 (08:14):
Do that publicly and it gets out, it does paint
you in a different light.

Speaker 4 (08:18):
And you heard how comfortable he was and his language.

Speaker 2 (08:21):
Yeah, it's it's it was very comfortable.

Speaker 4 (08:23):
So where are you want?

Speaker 5 (08:24):
Well here, here's this is where it gets interesting to
me because I Kelvin am about second chances.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
I believe we all make mistakes. I'm you know, a
great example.

Speaker 5 (08:36):
I'm not the guy who's on a high horse where
people I can't believe this person, you know did this.
They were driving drunk. Some player got caught, mind you.
You just drove drunk all weekend. You just didn't get caught.
And I'm not saying you should. But what I'm saying
is we all make mistakes, and I believe in second chances.

Speaker 2 (08:50):
But here's where it gets difficult for me.

Speaker 5 (08:52):
In this exact instance, Rob Colin Kaepernick doesn't get back
in the league. He didn't even do anything wrong. He
just kneelt for what he You know, hey man, I
just believe America has been you know, it's been difficult
for this country. Some changes needs to happen.

Speaker 4 (09:07):
Boom.

Speaker 5 (09:08):
You don't get back in the league, mind you. He
also settled for a collusion that case that he had.
The reason I bring that up and also bring up
Bryan Flores. Many say he's falling out as a defensive coach.
He might not, because he sued the league. He's suing
the league. He's suing the league for discrimination. The reason
I bring that up is because John Gruden is also

(09:29):
suing the league because for getting in those emails and
putting that out there. So it's going to be interesting
to see how this plays out. Where does John Gruden
get to kind of.

Speaker 1 (09:40):
I don't know what what's his what is his leg
to stand on because he's saying that the league leaked it.

Speaker 5 (09:45):
Yeah, he says, yeah. His point was he's suing the
league because they got they for he feels they there
was an effort to out him and get those emails
out that should have never been out, and that was
his private But he wasn't the.

Speaker 4 (09:57):
Only There were a lot of people got caught up
in that.

Speaker 1 (09:59):
He even dam was Adam Schefter got looked very bad
because he was sending his stories to the general manager
of Washington and he was editing them, you know what
I mean. Like, so it wasn't just John Gruden was
the only person who got caught up in that tangled web.

Speaker 4 (10:16):
Let me tell you, no one's saying that he can't
work or you know.

Speaker 1 (10:21):
Some opportunity, But he's not guaranteed that he has to
have another head coaching job and be the face of
a franchise.

Speaker 4 (10:31):
That's the preference.

Speaker 1 (10:32):
You might be able to get a job in the
NFL and do something, but that doesn't mean I have
to hire you for you to represent my organization. When
people know behind closed doors you're a different guy and
you say different things, I think that that's where you
get hurt. Does that mean you can never work or
never do it?

Speaker 4 (10:51):
No, I'm not. I'm with you.

Speaker 1 (10:53):
Second chances happen all the time, but it doesn't mean
you get to go right back to your purch.

Speaker 5 (10:58):
That's the point I was about to me, if he
would who did I break up? Last week? Remember I
brought up Michael Vick and I said, he's been the
model for me of contrition and redemption and just you know,
finding a way to right the wrongs if you will.
John Gruden is on barstool, and you know, people love,
there's been loving his content that he's pushing out. But
like if he said, man, I'm so hungry and humbled

(11:21):
that I just want to get back in the game,
and he becomes an offensive coordinator because that was his thing.

Speaker 2 (11:26):
You know, he's some coordinator with some team.

Speaker 5 (11:29):
On quarterback, quarterback coach or something for a year or
two and then okay, Booma opening opens up.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
I'd be okay with that.

Speaker 5 (11:36):
You kind of had to build yourself back up, you know,
as if everybody was Remember everybody's mad at colling a Kaepernick.
They're like, well, he doesn't want to be a backup
and all that he needs to start and you know,
start from the bottom and work his way back up.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
So this is a similar thing to me. If he
jumps in right.

Speaker 5 (11:49):
Now and works his way up offensive coordinator coaching, you know, coaching,
quarterback coaching, Baba boom bum works his way up. Okay, great,
But also last point for me, let's not act like
he was the most amazing coach one hundred and seventeen
and one hundred and twelve just over five hundred and
the Super.

Speaker 1 (12:08):
Bowl really after that he was. I felt like he
was a world beater.

Speaker 4 (12:16):
I'm with you.

Speaker 5 (12:17):
I'm not breaking my neck for somebody who I feel
could always could be compromising as far as being our
person in the community. Who again, wasn't this world Bill Belichick.
Let's just say somebody brought up man. You could obviously
make the case. I mean, he's been insane career there
arguably be the greatest of all time. John Gruden beIN
I he's literally all right, like one hundred and seventeen

(12:38):
hundred and twelve, five and four in the postseason that
that's not that sad. And the Super Bowl we won,
we literally all know that was Tony Dungee's team.

Speaker 1 (12:46):
And then the other thing is you know, you have
to be able to have him represent and do you
want that distraction that that's going to be the conversation,
you know what I mean?

Speaker 4 (12:57):
And that's something and they don't want it with a
lot of players.

Speaker 5 (12:59):
They don't want it with so many other players they've
done that for you don't get too much of a distraction.

Speaker 2 (13:03):
But by the way, the league does what they want.

Speaker 5 (13:04):
Because Deshaun Watson had all the distraction, then they gave
that man two hundred whatever.

Speaker 4 (13:08):
Yeah, er that was one team and they did do it.

Speaker 1 (13:11):
A lot of teams, right would not have done it,
just because they don't want that to be what represents
their organization.

Speaker 2 (13:19):
All right.

Speaker 1 (13:20):
Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven, seven
nine nine six sixty three sixty nine.

Speaker 4 (13:25):
Where are you? John Gruden?

Speaker 1 (13:28):
Mike Freeman columns for USA Today say that John Gouden
should not nt get another head coaching.

Speaker 5 (13:34):
Job in the NFL. Said, there's some interests and then
there's some people who say, yes he should.

Speaker 4 (13:39):
Where are you? We love to hear from you. It
is the odd couple.

Speaker 2 (13:42):
On a excuse me, you know it's coming.

Speaker 1 (13:46):
On a trash talking Tuesday on this New Year's Eve,
Rob Parker, Calvin Washington right here on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 6 (13:55):
Stick and stay for more great remix from Rob Parker
like this in the us of a.

Speaker 2 (14:10):
Really really, really really fun that's pretty fun. Thank you.
I gotta get out. We already know.

Speaker 5 (14:15):
I told you And ROBBJ was telling you all yesterday
how great you are.

Speaker 2 (14:19):
Uh, thank you you just sorting staff.

Speaker 4 (14:22):
We talk about it all the time and they know
how much I appreciate.

Speaker 5 (14:25):
Yeah, because that that's freaking great. And how fast you
did that?

Speaker 4 (14:28):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on five.

say you eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox we got.

Speaker 1 (15:00):
Let's go John, And what is this all right? I'm okay,
John in Vegas. You're the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.
What's up John?

Speaker 9 (15:10):
Hey guys, how you're doing?

Speaker 1 (15:11):
Love the show?

Speaker 9 (15:12):
Happy blessed New Year?

Speaker 4 (15:13):
Yes, thank you, John, and we appreciate your support.

Speaker 10 (15:17):
You know that real quick before we touch on, I
want to get you.

Speaker 6 (15:22):
That's a train back to the station really fast.

Speaker 2 (15:25):
What did you say?

Speaker 4 (15:26):
You want to hear that?

Speaker 5 (15:27):
Yay, boom boom you you gotta go fast, Come on.

Speaker 2 (15:32):
Rob bullet train.

Speaker 11 (15:34):
It was.

Speaker 5 (15:34):
It was the bullet that one, the bullet train you
gave us.

Speaker 10 (15:44):
Like you guys said, that was Tony Dungee's team. And
do we forget who they actually played in the Super Bowl?
His team?

Speaker 4 (15:50):
Yeah, yeah, but he knew everything.

Speaker 10 (15:54):
Great point, I mean it was it was made for him.
He's not as great as the coaches.

Speaker 9 (15:59):
Record proves that, you know.

Speaker 10 (16:01):
So circum chances if you type stuff like that, not
just showing and a group of friends that you're drinking
with this and that's one thing, but when you actually
sitting yes, that's you truly.

Speaker 1 (16:13):
Mean that, that thought that goes into it, right, that's
not a slip of the tongue or I'm drunk I
think it's.

Speaker 5 (16:18):
Crazy to me to John, John, thank you, was that
there wasn't this herd of people that came out and
support right, That to me is telling right because listen,
I'm gonna make a mistake. You're gonna make him something
that you think it'd be a but hey man, look man,
he's not that guy.

Speaker 2 (16:32):
He just kind of got caught in the batch went
blah blah blah. It wasn't like a large group of
people coming to stand by him.

Speaker 1 (16:39):
Now we got next Albert in Riverside. You're in the
odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Albert? Happy
New Year out there in the.

Speaker 12 (16:45):
I E yes, sir, how he stands up year New Year?

Speaker 4 (16:49):
Yes?

Speaker 12 (16:51):
Yep, Hey Rob, I think the met every word that
does not sound like good, like a training meet.

Speaker 1 (16:54):
What Wait a minute, let's see that Alex is sounding
a train going by?

Speaker 2 (17:00):
Sound like a song?

Speaker 3 (17:01):
There?

Speaker 2 (17:01):
There, it is there. That's not it.

Speaker 4 (17:05):
That's not a that's not a bullet train in Japan.

Speaker 12 (17:08):
No, that's not even the Mexical year.

Speaker 10 (17:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 12 (17:14):
I agree with I love you you guys said. I
think he should be a coordinator first and improved first.
The second chance. I think, for example, Rippettino and Myer.
It doesn't battuff I got a second chance, so I
think it gets a proved himself and if he does
good as a coordinator, I think it can be a
hic hol chigin and it gets its like it's a
bad rap. On the second stint with the Raiders, like

(17:36):
before uh Antonio Pearce and the Jos Van Daniels took over,
he actually had that team going the right direction before
the nal situation happened.

Speaker 4 (17:43):
So everything blew up.

Speaker 5 (17:45):
Yeah, he's a terrible coach, but I'm just saying I
don't have to necessarily break the bank or just not
give other guys for John Gruden. You know, Bill Belichick
was available five years ago or something.

Speaker 2 (17:55):
What that's what? Okay, I'm going to get that Mike
Tomlin or some other I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (18:00):
Gruden is like, all hey, Albert, thank you my man,
and be safe happy.

Speaker 4 (18:06):
Okay, yes sir, all right, no doubt.

Speaker 1 (18:08):
Nico in Vegas, you're on the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 4 (18:11):
What's up, Nico?

Speaker 2 (18:12):
Yo?

Speaker 13 (18:12):
Hey, guys, happy to know you have to do this.

Speaker 1 (18:14):
You know, Yeah, Nico, that that doesn't sound like a
bullet train going by no.

Speaker 13 (18:19):
Yeah, I mean I've only been to the TGV in Paris,
so it kind of didn't sound quite like it.

Speaker 2 (18:25):
But okay, there it is is what makes it great.

Speaker 5 (18:28):
That's just what makes it grass, all right, Nico, what
you got?

Speaker 13 (18:31):
Yeah? So my point I kind of actually somewhat disagree
with the last caller because when John Gruden got the
contract in Vegas, he won a fifty one percent of
the team decision, right, and which essentially got rid of
Reggie mackenzie, who had built that team of all the
draft picks that.

Speaker 4 (18:45):
He that's a great point.

Speaker 13 (18:47):
What did he do when we had draft picks Stamon Arnett,
Cleland Ferrell. I mean, obviously the receiver wasn't necessarily his fault,
but all these guys that he called high character guys
or guys that he reached for, and it's like what
happened with him? He brought in Rich and Cognito who
wasn't in the league, who also.

Speaker 5 (19:02):
Has a bad rep exactly when it comes to guy,
sure have some good investigative research right there, and never know,
Reggie McKenzie did a good job.

Speaker 4 (19:12):
He ran Reggie McKenzie out of there, right, I know,
Reggie will Well.

Speaker 5 (19:16):
You know what he told, get up out of here,
get up out of here, kicking people out. No, I
think listen, John Green is a big name. He and
his brother, He and his brother had you know, they
had a run in the NFL. And I think again
he on his resume, he does have a super Bowl appearance.
And I'm not saying he's a terrible boat win super Bowl.
I'm sorry, super Bowl win. But my point is, I

(19:37):
just think if I'm looking at again with this this
this legal stuff out here too with the NFL, I mean,
that's a real thing, you know, to just because there
are other people, as I mentioned, who have had these litigation.
People worry Brian Floores will never you know, get a
job because he's suing the NFL for discrimination. But John
and and Colin Kaepernick, people say he sealed his fake

(19:59):
when he got the n fail to settle that, you know,
collusion case that he had.

Speaker 1 (20:03):
Well in the NFL wanted to settle that because, let
me tell you, discovery is not what the NFL. When
you got to turn your phones over and you know,
and all this other stuff and you start looking into
emails and all this.

Speaker 5 (20:14):
Stuff, that's not what you want. You don't want that,
and that's why they Hey, here's Tim Mill Okay. But
my point is people said, once he received that money
and won that settlement, all right, then why would I
ever let you play? You sued me. I had to
settle with you, wile I didn say, hey, come be
a starting quarterback.

Speaker 4 (20:29):
But but but you're gonna do that with John Gruden.

Speaker 5 (20:31):
And then and then That's what I'm wondering because he's
I'm looking at it right now. Gruden is suing the NFL,
claiming it leaked the emails to remove him from his job.

Speaker 1 (20:39):
And so for me, what are the NFL? Why are
they trying to get John Gruden out? I just like
those emails were there because you wrote them.

Speaker 2 (20:46):
Why and what was? What do they have against you?

Speaker 5 (20:48):
Like this was your It wasn't like I can see
if it was Bill Beliton that had this battle over
years and right, But what what? What were they on
a mission man hunt, you know, witch hunt for with him?
I don't get that.

Speaker 1 (20:59):
Even was on ESPN for a while, did Monday Night
Football all out?

Speaker 5 (21:03):
He was he was an ambassador of the league. Yes, yeah,
so I don't know. But my point is, if he
gets to sue and then coach and again I've I've
already given you examples of guys who have sued and
haven't had that full opportunity yet. Uh, that'll be interesting
for me, but again it also wouldn't necessarily shock me.
All Right, Mark Funky Comadina on the WAI. But right
now we're gonna check in and see what's trending with

(21:23):
Steve the singer.

Speaker 4 (21:23):
Steve, have you been to Japan? Didn't that sound like
the bullet train going by?

Speaker 3 (21:27):
No?

Speaker 5 (21:28):
And no, favorite favorite place you visited youth traveled Steve anywhere?

Speaker 7 (21:33):
British Columbia, British Columbia on the coast.

Speaker 5 (21:36):
It was.

Speaker 7 (21:37):
It was not in the city. We actually went into
the country to a cabin. It was since a beautiful,
beautiful I bet so. I took a walk one day
and literally walked two hours without seeing another human for
two hours York La and then finally got to the
little you know, mom and pop shop market type.

Speaker 2 (21:58):
Yeah. Once it was great.

Speaker 1 (22:01):
And the bad part is when Steve got in there,
he wanted to buy die coca was two hundred dollars right.

Speaker 2 (22:08):
It's only when we go sale for three days exactly.
We gotta make our money is to the exchange.

Speaker 7 (22:13):
That wasn't as bad as when I first went to
Central America and went to a Burger King after we
arrived at the airport and I looked up and said, whopper,
twenty four dollars.

Speaker 4 (22:23):
Wow, it turns out the dollars all right?

Speaker 2 (22:26):
We passed out. Yeah, that's what listen.

Speaker 5 (22:28):
I ain't gonna lie as much as you know, we
might complain about our country at times. And when you
go most places, not all because Japan it is not
quite the same, but you get that money stretches when
you go certain places that the US dollar can definitely
get you some money.

Speaker 7 (22:42):
Except Central America, the gas prices are the same and
the people earn pennies per hour, right.

Speaker 2 (22:46):
Just unbelievable how they do it.

Speaker 7 (22:49):
As far as the exchange rate, I'm always conscious of
when Billy Crystal said he was traveling in Europe and
could never quite work out the exchange rate, and he
knew like at a restaurant he always did it wrong
when he would leave the tip and the waiter would say, oh,
thank you, I take it.

Speaker 2 (23:05):
I gave it.

Speaker 1 (23:05):
But you know what I always do, and you know
I travel internationally a lot I carry singles, yeah, because
I know if even with well, I mean, we know,
but even if you're gonna like tip to MyD who's
got your bags?

Speaker 4 (23:18):
I know, it doesn't matter what the exchange rate.

Speaker 1 (23:20):
If I'm gonna give somebody three or four dollars, that's
I could give them four American dollars, you know what
I mean, that might be eight dollars.

Speaker 4 (23:27):
Might be telling you what, I know what that is.

Speaker 7 (23:29):
Yeah, So you've got left over and you're ready to
leave the country, you're ready to just dump it with
the friends or people at the airport, somebody you've met, right,
you don't carry it in the pockets with you home, right.

Speaker 5 (23:40):
I mean I try to for only I keep a
little bit of everywhere, just for the sake of having
a you know, some type of currency from every place
that I've traveled.

Speaker 2 (23:46):
I see, kind of like scrapbooks. Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 7 (23:49):
Okay, we got halftime at the Fiesta Bowl and Penn
State is leading seventeen to seven over Boise State. This
is the opener of the College Football Playoff Quarterfinals, three
games tomorrow, including the Road Bowl rematch of Number one
Oregon against Ohio State. Penn State's Drew Aller had two
touchdown passes on the first two drives tonight and then
had a fumble on the third drive, so Boise State

(24:10):
not out of it. It was a Penn State field
goal at the end of the first half to make
it seventeen to seven at the break Bowl. Victories for
Louisville and LSU for Illinois and Michigan, which beat Alabama
nineteen to thirteen. Bama with two minutes left, had a
first and goal at the Michigan fifteen and through four
straight incompletions. The Dallas Cowboys cut running back Ezekiel Elliott

(24:31):
forty nine ers QB Brock Purty has a bruised elbow.
Outdoors in the NHL at Wrigley Field, Saint Louis was
a winner at Chicago six to two upset. In college
basketball today, West Virginia won at number seven rank Kansas
sixty two to sixty one on a free throw with
about one second left. And finally to the NBA on
this New Year's Eve, six games today, Boston Rip Toronto

(24:53):
won twenty five to seventy one, yes, a fifty four
point victory. Raptors have lost eleven in a row. Milwaukee
got thirty points from Giannison Tennacoompo and a win at Indiana.
San Antonio has blitz the Clippers Victor Wiman Yama twenty
seven points in twenty six minutes. Lebron James is playing
for the Lakers tonight after illness. In fact, Lebron had

(25:14):
an early three or four shooting performance and he's a
minus nine on the court, and they are trailing against
the Cleveland Cavaliers late first quarter twenty nine sixteen. If
Cleveland wins, it would not just be their eight straight win,
Cleveland would be twenty nine and four this season. And
Minnesota is still winning in Oklahoma City mid third quarter,
sixty five sixty three. OKC has won eleven in a row.

Speaker 2 (25:36):
Back to you here, Steve, thank you having great now
having a new year.

Speaker 5 (25:39):
To you, Steve, all right, it is yacht couple coming
to you live for tyrack dot Com Studios on a
trash talking Tuesday. What what else did I say?

Speaker 2 (25:48):
It was? Again?

Speaker 5 (25:48):
Oh, travel Tuesday. We've been all talking about a little
bit of traveling around the world as well throughout this day.

Speaker 4 (25:54):
No doubt.

Speaker 1 (25:55):
And if you do want to get back in eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox on this, John Goom. We'll
take a couple more calls on that as well as
we uh head into some NBA talk with Mark Funky.

Speaker 4 (26:06):
Cole Medina looking forward scheduled to join us, so we'll
wait on that as well.

Speaker 5 (26:11):
Yeah, and I want to see Uh, we were talking
about earlier Lebron if he's going to play exactly because
you know it's gonna be dramatic because you don't know
how many more games he has.

Speaker 1 (26:18):
So there was one other thing I did we can
bring up really quickly, Alex, did you know this? We
were talking about it?

Speaker 4 (26:25):
What's up?

Speaker 3 (26:25):
Ron?

Speaker 5 (26:25):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (26:26):
We do have them?

Speaker 1 (26:26):
Okay, well we'll for the last call we talk about
about the dating thing I want to do. Oh yeah,
well he ain't anymore. He wouldn't be that, he wouldn't
be in that percentage. But I just want to know
you know that you gave her a name.

Speaker 2 (26:41):
Can we go? Oh, we gotta talk. That's a ball
one right there, saying Mark cole.

Speaker 9 (26:47):
Medina, Calvin Rob happy to your Hey, Rob, I'm here
to collect on Where are.

Speaker 4 (26:54):
You though, you know, are you in the building.

Speaker 9 (26:56):
I'm at Crypto dot com Marena taking in Lakers chest.
But I'll come to the building at some point.

Speaker 2 (27:01):
Wait, what was the bet? I wasn't here, what was
the what maybe I was, I don't remember what was
the bet?

Speaker 9 (27:05):
That was Rob and I were talking about the NBA
and the ratings, and I said, okay, fair discussion. But
Christmas Day, all the games are going to be good
and competitive.

Speaker 1 (27:14):
That's what he did say. Definitely, I thought he was
just rolling the dice, you know what I mean. But
you were you were absolutely right. Uh, let's say you're
in crypto Lebron's fortieth birthday yesterday talking about that maybe
he'll play, he could play five or seven more years.

Speaker 4 (27:32):
I mean, I know he was just.

Speaker 1 (27:34):
Talking in hyperbole or whatever. But the impact, he doesn't
have the same impact even with his numbers.

Speaker 4 (27:41):
Defensively, he's horrible.

Speaker 1 (27:43):
Like he's not he's not he's not playing even though
the numbers look like, oh my god, he's still like
he's twenty seven.

Speaker 4 (27:50):
It's it's not the same.

Speaker 9 (27:51):
Would you agree with that, Yeah, for I would for
the most part. Now, to be clear about the five
seven years he was saying he could play, I could play,
but his standard is he's still got to play an
all star caliber level. So it's not going to be
five to seven years. I asked some people around the league,
some assistant coaches, the medical experts, you know, because of

(28:12):
the injuries and father time, how many years they think
he'll play. And the common theme was about basically riding
out the rest of this contract. He's under contract for
this season and next season, so it's their sense. So
that's probably it. But I think we do have to
keep him perspective. Robbie. Yes, he's not the same player
he was in his twenties, so the athleticism isn't there

(28:34):
as much. We've seen this season that three point numbers
are down, turnovers are up, but he's still playing all
star caliber level when you still account for all that,
and that's a testament to play twenty two years and
still be playing at that kind of level.

Speaker 5 (28:48):
Oh, it out of.

Speaker 2 (28:48):
Nob I mean, but you know, it's are we trying
to win?

Speaker 4 (28:51):
What we're going to do?

Speaker 1 (28:54):
Like the issue, Yeah, with the Lakers, even with Anthony
Davis and the numbers he's putting up, it's not like
the top four teams in the West. I mean, it's
still a struggle. I think that's the part that is
a little concerning. And and again I talk about the
defensive numbers. Sure Lebron is scoring a lot or whatever
because the way they play defense. But on the other end,
I mean, he's like dead last as far as defensive

(29:16):
player in the league, which is crazy.

Speaker 5 (29:17):
He's got to retire that he is going to be
that for the rest of his career.

Speaker 9 (29:21):
You know, he is gonna be that. You know what's
very ironic, and I'm with you that he definitely is
not known as a defensive player unless it's a chase
sound block for the highway reels. But as much as
he takes plays off on defense, he's very good at
telling where other guys should be. That can be a
both a good thing and a bad thing.

Speaker 2 (29:40):
No, it's bad, but I'm like, hey, you should have
been over there. Well did you help me out?

Speaker 3 (29:44):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (29:44):
You have seen Lebron when his man gos and he'll
point to the other guy like you let that guy go, let.

Speaker 5 (29:49):
Him score it, right. Hey, they made a trade. They
got Finny Smith and they got shake Milton. Are you
liking this trade? They got rid of d Lo. Some
people said it's about time. Some people say, why would
you do that?

Speaker 2 (29:59):
Del? Well, you know he still had potential where are
you want it?

Speaker 12 (30:03):
Yeah?

Speaker 9 (30:03):
I think it was a good trade. D'Angel Russell is
a better basketball player than Darien Finneysmith. But when it
comes to positional needs, the Lakers need another three and D.
They need to have a good perimeter defender. They don't
really have that on this current roster. D'Angel is great
as a shooter, but he's also inconsistence. I think the
Lakers took everything into effect. They're very well aware that

(30:24):
when they got the Angelo, he was a key reason
why the offense was not just depending on Lebron and
Ad but they also saw his shortcomings in the playoffs.
So I think that they made that calculus that because
of that, the opportunity present itself with Brooklyn becoming sellers
because they're now looking for bettering their lottery odds, that

(30:44):
they decide to strike and you never know what's going
to happen. With the fact that they kept all their
first round picks suggests that they can and will be
trying to make another move before the trade deadline February sixth.
But again to the runner point Rob's may, they're not
the top of the West. They are currently fifth, and
they can be that second tier team but even if

(31:06):
they make a trade, unless it's for a star player,
which is unrealistic, they're gonna still be in that second
tier playoff teams.

Speaker 1 (31:14):
Definitely want to ask you Toronto lost tonight, uh one.

Speaker 4 (31:19):
Five to seventy one. What if they'd lost eleven in
a row. I mean they are.

Speaker 9 (31:26):
I mean mark flag to the rescue.

Speaker 4 (31:28):
I mean, day goodness, gracious, Like what is that?

Speaker 5 (31:31):
What's going on? Are they just you know, taking for
going on? What can I do with? Make it rhyme?
I don't know?

Speaker 2 (31:37):
We're bad for flag? Is that what's going on?

Speaker 9 (31:40):
Yes, they're asking they're asking Cooper to plant the Canadian flag.
About that.

Speaker 4 (31:47):
It's so bad. I can't get over how bad they are.

Speaker 9 (31:51):
Yeah, I mean, look, they they've gone through a pretty
big transformation the last few seasons where they've basically gutted
all their veteran players and championship caliber players, you know
last season with Pascal Siakam friend Ben Wave for the
trade deadline. So now it's it's developing the young guys,
most notably Scottie Barnes and seeing if he can be

(32:13):
that franchise player. But while doing that, losing a lot
of games. So they can get Cooper Flag and he
can become the next franchise face of the franchise.

Speaker 5 (32:23):
I look at this NBA season right now, and it's
it's You've got a couple of teams in each division,
our conference who are top. So you got the Thunder
at twenty six and five. You look at the Cavs
at twenty and four, have been remarkable all year. Do
you buy into either of those teams? Do you believe
that's our finals? Do you believe that these are the
two teams that you got to you know, expect to

(32:43):
see later in June.

Speaker 9 (32:46):
I think it's definitely the thunder out of the West.
You know, when you look at just how complete a
team they are, even without chet Holgrin for most of
the season, they seem to have a lot of separation
between every other team in the West. As far as
the it's neck and neck with Cleveland and Boston, and
Cleveland has shown that they can have legitimately four all

(33:07):
star players that coexist well with each other with Donovan Mitchell,
Darius Garland, Jared Allen, and Evan Mowboy. They're very well
coached with Kenny Atkinson, and you know, they're relatively healthier
than the Celtics. But I think when you look at
the Celtics, you have to keep in mind that outside
of Porzingis, there's not a lot of injury concerns with

(33:28):
their main core. They have basically their entire championship roster back.
And so I think it's the thunder out of the
West Boston and Cleveland seven game series and really flip
a coin, assuming all things are equal from a health standpoint.

Speaker 1 (33:45):
All right, that'll be very very interesting on the Boston,
like I said, had an unbelievable game to night.

Speaker 9 (33:53):
You don't like their threes though, right, Rob?

Speaker 1 (33:55):
No, I don't not know because no I don't because
that game and and I didn't look at the box score,
but I guarantee you Toronto didn't make a lot of tees.

Speaker 4 (34:05):
And that's what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (34:06):
Like those how you get and you notice marked there
a lot of lopsided games because one team's making threes
and the others not.

Speaker 4 (34:13):
And that's when you get these games and we see
a lot of.

Speaker 5 (34:16):
Don't chase them, do what you do? Then that's the problem, right,
you know what I mean? Why do I chase you?
And real quick? Last thing, real quick? Uh, Kawhi, what's
the latest update. And he's supposed to be back Sunday or.

Speaker 9 (34:28):
Something, Well they happened say anything. Definitively, he's not playing
right now on the Flippers road trip because he's with
the Chier League team game more five on five, So
earliest could be Atlanta on Saturday into it though official. Yeah,
but I wouldn't be surprised that's the case, all right.

Speaker 2 (34:45):
He is Mark, Happy New Year to you.

Speaker 9 (34:48):
Mark, Happy new Year and looking forward to enjoying my
bet in twenty twenty five.

Speaker 4 (34:52):
That's right, that's right.

Speaker 5 (34:53):

(36:33):
buying should be you got an interesting little story, now, Alex, I.

Speaker 1 (36:35):
Saw this thing and it said and in you two,
I want you to get involved in this real quick.
It said that eighty percent of single men aren't dating
like and aren't interested in it like like like you know,
like not pursuing.

Speaker 2 (36:56):
It like a real relationship.

Speaker 1 (36:57):
Now that's not to say that they're not trying to
have fun, have fun, but they're not trying to look
for a relationships right now, Ian, you have a girlfriend,
but tell me about like god, your age, you just
got out of college, and then Alex, you tell me.

Speaker 5 (37:13):
I don't know.

Speaker 11 (37:13):
I feel like there is kind of more of like
a hookup culture thing now where it's like people are less,
you know, wanting to be tied down. But to me,
that sounds like like eighty percent is a high number.
That's that is that the people who don't have a
girlfriend or like, yeah, I don't want one anyway, Like
that's what I think that is.

Speaker 5 (37:29):
Yeah, but then they get that one and they will Yeah,
I think that's I will agree that there is. That's
a great way of putting it. I in a hookup culture,
and I think this right here, I'm holding my phone,
the ability to just sit in your draws at home
and be swiping her yes her no.

Speaker 1 (37:44):
But also I don't have to go on dating. I
don't need to spend money, right, like, hey, you want
to get together, like you're just like there and boom
and you know what, I'm away, right and then it's
not a date, Alex, What what do you think?

Speaker 6 (37:56):
Well, guys, I just believe in general, I think dating
is dead. I don't think it exists anymore because there
used to be courting, used to be yearning and trying,
but now it's just For example, right, I know from
my sister, she's seven years difference from me and old.

Speaker 2 (38:13):
It's just from us. He's young.

Speaker 6 (38:14):
Yeah, she's seven years younger. And so she was telling
me the stuff they are doing in school because of
social media. It blew my mind. I was like, you
know long it took me to kiss my first girlfriend.
You're making in the closet, Like, it's just it's turned
into a world now where that luster and that kind
of like that chase for that connection, it's dwindled because
Rob unfortunately with social media, like Kadok said, if I

(38:36):
have a problem with you, there's twenty more.

Speaker 5 (38:38):
Like it's so easy to like, eh, never mind, or
or to never actually pursue because you go, what if
no one else is better? What if the else is cuter?

Speaker 2 (38:49):
Dude?

Speaker 6 (38:49):
And that's the thing. I've literally heard so many guys say, oh, well,
you know, I'm still with her because what if I
regret it after I leave her? So it's like it's
such a weird place for people that they don't know
their value. And also it's just too easy.

Speaker 3 (39:01):
Now.

Speaker 2 (39:03):
I couldn't imagine me a single.

Speaker 1 (39:04):
Are you usc did they have girlfriends or no, you
know what I mean?

Speaker 11 (39:08):
Or was it just yeah, I mean some do. I
think it's just to each their own. It's it's a
personal thing. But but what Alex was saying there, it's
actually interesting because it does kind of seem like there
is more like you hook up first, as opposed to
where it used to be like yeah, yeah, stuff, ye
and your first kiss or whatever. All that happens first,
and then you decide, oh, we really like each other.
I'm liking this, and then you start dating from there.

(39:29):
It's interesting how.

Speaker 5 (39:30):
They were saying, I read a thing this is years ago.
They say, like teenagers are having sex less than like
our our era because they they sex sting, so like
I don't have to you and.

Speaker 2 (39:42):
I, you know, the area to look up.

Speaker 5 (39:44):
They can just say they send pictures and send stuff,
so like they just they just they don't they too,
is what It's like. They go straight to that, whereas
we had to you know, you're dating and you go
to this.

Speaker 2 (39:54):
Yeah, it's just like they.

Speaker 6 (39:56):
