Extreme Fighting, so we'll do that as coming up and
last call Rob g in case someone wants to get
in and they couldn't get in at any other point
during the show.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
How you doing your holding out? All right, I'm doing it.

Speaker 4 (01:44):
I'm a little upset with Ricky and the imaging staff.

Speaker 3 (01:46):
Back then, why is that?

Speaker 4 (01:47):
Because I mean, if I got twenty minutes notice that
I was going to host the show because Kelvin had
some issues there at the house with the internet service. Yes,
they had at least fifteen minutes, and all I was
doing it, and.

Speaker 3 (01:59):
All you want your name on it?

Speaker 4 (02:00):
I wanted my name on the intro. And and when
your name has never been on that, I think once
so it has been. I think, so I know it exists.
They could have just played it. But in the intro
it says, can this sports writer and this sports fan
co exist? Rob, I'll have you know. I'm an award
winning high school newspaper right.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
Oh is that right?

Speaker 4 (02:20):
Is not on the you know marquee like yours. They
didn't name that the name of the press box after me.
But I did win a local award, So I feel
like if so fact though, I could have got mentioned.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
So you were like you did you ever think about
being a writer or no? What was your like when
you were in high school?

Speaker 3 (02:35):
Well? I know you played high school football? Not well,
but I'm not well, team captain of a two and
eighteen right, Okay, that's sorry, but you were on a team?
Was on the team?

Speaker 5 (02:45):
How much did you have to pay you? I knew
a guy, who knew a guy? So then what did
you when you were in high school? Because obviously you
know my path. When I was in high school, I
wanted this is what I wanted to do, uh as
a sports writer?

Speaker 6 (02:59):
Sure?

Speaker 3 (03:00):
What did you want to do when you're in high school?

Speaker 4 (03:02):
I knew I wanted to be in sports, and that's
something that you know since I was like six seven
years old. That was one thing me and my dad
would bond over because he worked a lot of crazy
out I told you.

Speaker 3 (03:11):
About ho he worked, and he worked at the coliseum
here in LA.

Speaker 4 (03:13):
He worked at the LA Sports Arena when it was
popping back in the day with the clips. Then he
played basketball with Prince Well, he watched him, you know,
he watched him. He set up the court so that
he could play and Chick could play. They say he
could choo Bosco so yeah, so he has some crazy
stories about stuff like that.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
But you know when he was in the High Hills,
walk up the floor of the La.

Speaker 4 (03:30):
Sports and he didn't say that, but he said it
was wild to see him say, hey, I need the
arena lights on, not the practice lights so he can
get his jump shots in. Once he was done, you know,
by himself, walks out, goes to the side where they
have his entrance, and his entrance for the concert was
a coffin. So he shot the ball, put it down
on the rack, walked over to the coffin, laid down,

(03:52):
was rolled onto the stage and there was a Prince concert.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
You know what's crazy. I had the same exact thing happened,
not that with Lila. Wayne little Way did a concert
in Michigan. And this is when he used to be
on first take. When I was like, this is years
and years ago, and he invited me, gave me backstage.
I went by myself. I just I just went and
I went to his trailer and all that. We talked

(04:16):
all the way up rob g. We come out of
the trailer, walked to the back of the stage. He's
talking to me a whole time. This that and the
other thing, and he goes, all right, I gotta go
to work, And I said, all right, awesome, thanks whatever.

Speaker 3 (04:31):
DAPs me up walked straight out. The curtains open up.
I can see it from where I was. Do you
know that I gotta go to work?

Speaker 4 (04:40):
I thought he meant like a cross town or something
like that.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
He literally like, well, like dap me up, turned around,
went grabbed a mic, and was on stage.

Speaker 4 (04:49):
He put on a crazy he sure did. That was awesome.
So can you imagine me that good at something like
you know, Prince shooting baskets going on stage, Little Wayne
talking sports to you for fifteen to when it's going
on stage. Do you think Rob you could be at
your best to host this radio show if you walked
in talking to Shay about you know, this new woman
that he's not dating, right, and then as soon as

(05:11):
you walk into the studio, turn on the microphone and
you're ready to go. Do you need at least some
time to yourself to get your thought?

Speaker 1 (05:19):
I think I think for the most part, when I'm ready,
you know me, when when it's show time, I'm ready
to go. I'm always ready to go unless somebody really
pisses me off and makes me feel like I need
to do something else. I'll just say it, Alex. You
know I get right. Alex's been around me for eight
or nine years at the time. Right, I'm an easy
going guy. But when you cross me, I'm not.

Speaker 7 (05:40):
Oh, it's over.

Speaker 4 (05:42):
I have a whole rollodex of people that we can't
get on the show. Why because they crossed me.

Speaker 7 (05:46):
Your scared animal is an elephant because you never forget.

Speaker 3 (05:49):
I never don't cross me.

Speaker 7 (05:51):
Rob g By the way too soon, too soon? Too soon?

Speaker 3 (05:55):
Are you all right?

Speaker 6 (05:57):
Now?

Speaker 3 (05:57):
You brought it up? See he brought it up a
second time.

Speaker 7 (06:01):
All disrespect Rihanna, not Shay.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
Okay, let's go here, Rob g Yes, give us the
Chador Sanders news because he did practice today for reasons.

Speaker 4 (06:12):
Yeah, it's not looking good after that, we'll call it
impressive performance.

Speaker 3 (06:19):
Touchdowns. No, pitch didn't move up the depth chart.

Speaker 4 (06:23):
He was fourth, So we thought, hey, this is a
big week for Shador.

Speaker 3 (06:26):
This is gonna be to start again, yep.

Speaker 4 (06:28):
To separate himself from the pack a little bit. He
played good on Saturday, maybe he'll play good again this weekend.
And unfortunately he goes down on Wednesday with an oblique injury.
He's gonna get an MRI here the next day or two,
and Kevin Stefanski, coording to multiple reports, has already suggested
that not only will Shador not start this upcoming preseason game,

(06:52):
there's a good chance it's very highly unlikely that he
even plays.

Speaker 1 (06:58):
And with that news, I'm even more convinced than I
was before that he won't make the team and he'll
get cut. This hurts him more than anybody, like the
other guys will hurt I really do because when you're
four string and now we're not gonna see you, you
know what I mean this week coming up, and you

(07:19):
didn't move up? You did pretty well? Right were you
used the word impressed them? I say, he was very
good and it wasn't like, oh my god, we didn't
know are we what are we doing? Yes, he should
be here, he should be doing this. Let's move him up.
He's definitely made the team. That No, he didn't make
the team off that game. He didn't move up the
depth chart from that game. And I still I'm looking

(07:40):
at just the way that the NFL does his business,
which is normally fourth string quarterbacks don't make the roster.
Had nothing to do with Shador, I would ask anybody
give me the fourth string court, and didn't they move
up for Dylan right the third pick like they wanted him.

(08:02):
So I'm just asking myself, how does this figure in?
How does this work? I know I'm the lone wolf
out here. Everybody's got Chadors starting by game three. By
week three, rob Gs gonna be a uh selling the
most jerseys in the NFL. Whatever you want to talk about.
Tim Tebow sold a lot of jerseys too. Guess what

(08:24):
couldn't play, rob G? He couldn't play? Did he not
have ridiculous buzz? He had beyond ridiculous buzz. Ridiculous buzz
sold jerseys. Everybody was Tim tebau Mania. It's gotta be
a is here a thirty for thirty yet? I mean seriously,
during that time, it was outrageous. Yeah, rob again, this

(08:47):
has got to be a first for the odd couple.
I agree with you.

Speaker 4 (08:52):
This situation has been percolating now for a few weeks.
The Cleveland Browns are telling you without telling you us,
that Shador Sanders is not in the picture. He is
not being seriously considered to be a active roster NFL
quarterback for them. Much has been made leading into last

(09:13):
week about Kenny Pickett and Dylan Gabriel not playing in
the preseason game because they have hamstring. Both of them
had surprise, I don't know, both of them get hamstring injuries,
but they both get hastered, right, And and now Sho
has an old belie and now he's got a no blague.
The only one who actually is healthy is eighty seven
year old Joe Flacco, which we.

Speaker 3 (09:30):
Said not gonna put out there until the season.

Speaker 4 (09:33):
Make that make sense. But here's the thing. Gabriel and
Picket both sat out last weekend's game. What they didn't do, however,
was sit out practice. So that tells you right there,
we don't We value you too much to risk running

(09:54):
you out there in a meaningless preseason game is meaningless,
So we're gonna let you practice, get your reps in
with eleven on eleven, with the seven on seven. Don't
worry about Saturday. We got Scheduor to take the snaps,
and we just signed newpunt Lee. Let those guys put
their body on the line. Don't worry about it.

Speaker 1 (10:13):
That I don't know an even NFL play, Like so
many people are so engaged in this and feel like
they have ownership of it.

Speaker 3 (10:23):
I've never seen anything like it, Like like.

Speaker 1 (10:26):
The the the people Lewis Reddick on ESPN had to
take back, Like the whole idea that uh, they were
setting him up to fail is like like and I
was surprised to just hear I know it clears clarified
and said, I'm not saying that, but that's what it
sounded like, right like without saying it, I like, oh,
this is like a setup job or whatever. And I

(10:47):
just I cannot disagree more. I do believe teams want
to win. If you're to Cleveland Browns, you don't want
to win. You're the GM, you're the coach, you don't
you don't want to win, rob g you don't want.

Speaker 3 (10:59):
Jobs to cure.

Speaker 4 (11:00):
That's why they're going with Joe Flacco, right because we
all know Joe Flacco is not the future.

Speaker 3 (11:05):
He's not for Kevin Stefanski.

Speaker 4 (11:07):
If it's now, it's not something can win games now, Flaco.

Speaker 1 (11:11):
No one's gonna say, oh, it's all right, Stefanski, don't
worry about it. You know you're you only won two
games this year and one last the next year, and
you're still going to be the coach when this thing
turns around.

Speaker 3 (11:23):
No, he won't be the coach.

Speaker 4 (11:25):
And this and I hope I'm not putting words in
your mouth, but I think you've said this before. This
is not some kind of indictment on Shador Sanders. This
is the reality of the NFL, of any workplace for
that matter. Joe Flacco is the starter. Presumably not because
he is the future of the franchise because they think

(11:47):
long term he's our guy. It's because Kevin Stefanski feels
like he could be on the hot seat.

Speaker 1 (11:52):
If you don't one gets last year, gives us the
best because you remember he got them to the playoffs
two years ago and they still moved off of him.

Speaker 4 (12:01):
Why not because he wasn't the best quarterback at that time,
but because they invested so much into Shaun Watson there
was no way they can move off him. That's the
reality of the NFL. You move down the list. Kenny Pickett.
The reason why he's gonna keep getting chance after chance
with them is because they gave up a real asset
to get him right.

Speaker 3 (12:22):
Otherwise, if you're the GM, you gotta stock quote what
did you do now? Exactly? What what are you doing?
You know what I mean, like like seriously.

Speaker 4 (12:29):
Last, but not least, And this is the one that
I guess is the most controversial. Dylan Gabriel, by all accounts,
if you're according to the people who cover the team,
around the team, all the beat writers around, there has
been the worst quarterback of the bunch. He just has
not been seen the field very well. Just on Wednesday,
he was six for nineteen throwing the football. Okay, because

(12:49):
they invested a third round pick in him and a
fifth round pick in Shador, standers, I guarantee you they
are gonna go ahead and say we're gonna get dealing
opportunity after opportunity after opportunity and make him be the
reason why we have to keeep Shador. And unless that happens,

(13:11):
you're not keeping four quarterbacks.

Speaker 3 (13:12):
You're just not doing it right. And I just I'm
with you.

Speaker 1 (13:16):
The third round compared to the fifth round, it's so
much easier to let Shador walk right, or let him
go or whatever it is practice squad.

Speaker 3 (13:26):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (13:26):
I'm convinced now even more now this injury puts them behind,
you know, like this is not he would have been
better off getting to play Saturday and maybe we see
a little bit different right with some other players in
there and some other situations. But now he can't even
do that, and time is ticking, all right? Eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox. By reading too much into this,

(13:50):
you still thinks Shador are gonna be the starting quarterback
or in week three? Or is this injury good news
for him because now everybody's banged up? Or is it
bad news because he needed more time and effort. Where
are you on Shador Sanders and what the Browns are doing?
Because I know the history of Browns has been bad
when it comes to quarterbacks, but in this case, I

(14:11):
just don't see the scenario which lends to Shador being he's.

Speaker 4 (14:18):
Not making the fifty three point blank period?

Speaker 3 (14:20):
Yes, all right?

Speaker 7 (14:21):
Is he not?

Speaker 3 (14:22):
Rob g says no. I say no, Maybe you say yes.

(16:34):
We're more convinced than ever he's not going to make
the fifty three man roster.

Speaker 3 (16:38):
Got it.

Speaker 4 (16:38):
We got a lot of calls here, full bank as usual,
get started quickly. Mike is in Dallas. Mike here on
the akabol Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 10 (16:45):
Hey guys, how you doing. Thanks for sticking a call.
I'll make it quick. First, we know the history of
the Browns and their quarterback knowledge. If you will, they
don't make great decisions. They historically have not made the
best decisions. I cannot disagree with you and Rob, who
is known hater?

Speaker 3 (17:06):
Why could you disagree with me?

Speaker 11 (17:07):
Man?

Speaker 1 (17:08):
That doesn't make any sense. You just so much because
we have a different point of opinion. That's I'm a hater.
It's just ridiculous.

Speaker 10 (17:15):
You're hater, Rob We know this. No, let me get
to the real quick, and I'll make it real quick.

Speaker 6 (17:19):
Real quick.

Speaker 10 (17:21):
Chanor who was willy expected to be expected to be
drafted higher than Dylan Gabriel And now I'm performing him
in camp and he's still going to get cut.

Speaker 4 (17:33):
Yes, that's the Yes, that's it. You got a new
It looks like a first time long time. We got
Chris in New Jersey calling in the Chris.

Speaker 12 (17:45):
First of all in the world. But I'm not the
first caller.

Speaker 3 (17:49):
Easy, you know why.

Speaker 13 (17:52):
Before me?

Speaker 3 (17:54):
You know why?

Speaker 1 (17:54):
Wait a minute, let me tell you why, because we
have a warning for you.

Speaker 3 (17:59):
And we figured that this is the reason why here it.

Speaker 10 (18:02):
Is exactly for one thing.

Speaker 6 (18:04):
But you forgot to turn down the radio.

Speaker 3 (18:07):
There you go. You don't.

Speaker 2 (18:12):
Look.

Speaker 12 (18:13):
I just had a great deal in New York City.
I get in my car and I hear Rob hating
Old and chadure Sanders and sure, I think Kelvin or
Rob g is gonna put him in his place?

Speaker 13 (18:29):
And you co sign it.

Speaker 2 (18:31):
How we hat him?

Speaker 12 (18:33):
How had the call is?

Speaker 3 (18:35):
Yeah, he's a four string quarterback. They're not carrying four quarterbacks?
How we hating?

Speaker 12 (18:39):
You're right, he is going to make the tea. Here's
the deal. Even though obviously you didn't want him to
get injured, the injury helps him. Assuming he can come
back next week, and you know you'll be fine. He
already put the good taste out there. Like the last
time we saw him, he was very good. And if

(19:01):
Dylan Gabriel goes out there against the Eagles, he gonna
be facing a better team.

Speaker 1 (19:06):
He's going there, and if he plays better than what
okay say, he plays well against the better team and
the Eagles.

Speaker 13 (19:12):
Because he's been terrible he was six to nineteen.

Speaker 1 (19:15):
What I'm asking you in the game. If he plays
well Chardor had his one hundred and thirty yards, If
he has one hundred and forty yards and two touchdowns
and no picks, then then what's the conversation.

Speaker 12 (19:26):
If he plays well, then it will probably keep. I
think they'll cut I think they'll trade Kenny Pickett. I
think they're gonna trade Kenny.

Speaker 1 (19:34):
They're not gonna keep two rookie quarterbacks. The backup of
goud could get.

Speaker 12 (19:37):
Hurt if Gabriel plays well, but I doubt he will
against the Eagles. He's been bad, as Robgie said, he's
been bad in the training camp and he's not gonna
you know, he's gonna be facing game planning, which they
really don't do in the first preseason game. So he's
going in a tougher situation. He's probably gonna look bad

(19:58):
and that's gonna make that would probably move Shador ahead
of him on the depth chart. So this actually helped
Schadeur because he was so good in his only outing.

Speaker 1 (20:08):
Well it's funny because he didn't move up to depth
trot after. That's so good, and you just you just
need you just even said that. But you just said it, Chris,
that they don't even plan for the game one.

Speaker 3 (20:19):
They're just out there playing. It's like pickup football, right.

Speaker 12 (20:23):
Well, I wouldn't say pickup football, but you know what
I mean. Right, you just said the defenses don't game plan.
You know, they progress, you know this game one, Game
two is a little more sophisticated than three to four.
But he had not had a lot of reps in practice.
So and remember he was playing at least some of

(20:45):
the time against Carolina's starters with the backups from the Browns,
and you got him in. Those two touchdown paths were pinpoint.

Speaker 3 (20:54):
Yeah, they were good.

Speaker 12 (20:55):
Thing. He was perfect because he had a few mistakes,
but he looked good. And look, Gabriel goes out there
and plays well robbed, You're right, then you got a
battle for the backup spot. But I think there's a
better chance he goes out there and struggles, and then
that will probably move to door ahead of it.

Speaker 4 (21:12):
Chris, you are entirely too smart to have this kind
of That'd be like if on first things first, because
Danny Park is that and he went to the show.
If he comes in and does well, they're gonna say
he's done so well, we're gonna replace.

Speaker 3 (21:27):
Invested so much. Chris, that is not gonna.

Speaker 12 (21:30):
Happen, Gabriel.

Speaker 6 (21:32):
I mean, I've already done my thing.

Speaker 12 (21:36):
But come out with it like it's there's not I mean,
Gabriel's is a third round pick.

Speaker 4 (21:41):
Yeah, but they invested too much of him to just
move off him that quickly.

Speaker 12 (21:44):
He didn't invest too much. I mean, he's a third reason,
not like he's a first I get it. If he
was a first round pick, then you're really giving him
a legit chance and all that. It's not that much
different in a third and a field. I get it.
It's a little difference, but they're not gay and you
said it. Rob hasn't looked good.

Speaker 3 (22:02):
It's just you have not all right. Well, Chris, we
gotta get you on again. We'll have you on.

Speaker 1 (22:07):
We know you're the star. First things first, that's on
FS one.

Speaker 3 (22:11):
But I do have this. We got Sean Merriman coming up.

Speaker 1 (22:13):
But I gotta say this, Chris, there are people who
question the legitimacy.

Speaker 4 (22:18):
Of all sources.

Speaker 1 (22:19):
That's right of Martin Weiss's wedding to Murio, because you
indeed were the officiator of this. Are you ordained in
the state of California. We want to know I.

Speaker 12 (22:32):
Am, I said, by the powers invested in me in this,
by the state of California. So it is a legit marriage,
Alex told me. And when Alex is ready, I'm ready. Alex.

Speaker 4 (22:44):
Wow, say Chris, really, it's just gonna take a sizable
donation of the King movement.

Speaker 1 (22:50):
That's why you know what, Alex. All you gonna do
is bring twelve clean uh clean hoodies and then Chris
could put the King.

Speaker 3 (23:02):
There could be donation. Hey, Chris, thanks for listening. We
appreciate you listening and calling in my man.

Speaker 12 (23:09):
Yes, y'all sound great.

Speaker 1 (23:12):
Thank you buddy, christ There, it is Chris Broussard. He
used to be around here for a couple of years, wasn't.

Speaker 4 (23:18):
He He used to be his key card don't work
no more?

Speaker 3 (23:21):
No, no, he's done here?

Speaker 4 (23:23):
Can I can I not say rest in peace Christmas
Sorr anymore? Now that we know he is alive, Yes,
we know he's alive.

Speaker 1 (23:28):
Okay, okay, all right, Hey, coming up Sean Merriman, the
former NFL All Pro linebacker. Yeah, we'll talk with Sean
about some football stuff and about his uh lights out
extreme fighting as well. But first let's get you caught up.
Monte Bilanos is up next.

Speaker 7 (23:48):
Chris Broussard.

Speaker 3 (23:50):
Nice to have him on the show. Yes, you know what?

Speaker 1 (23:52):
And he I heard the back the feedback because he
didn't turn his radio down.

Speaker 4 (23:57):
He wanted to hear his cell phone bans. You want
to hear a fun story about Chris real quick. So
he called me about a month and a half or
so ago. He's like, hey, man, real quick, I'm gonna
be out down there. Are you gonna go to Martin's wedding?

Speaker 12 (24:06):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (24:06):
Look at this?

Speaker 4 (24:07):
And I was like, I mean, I don't know, I
don't know. And then He's like, well, it's coming up
in a few weeks, so you probably ain't invited.

Speaker 3 (24:13):
Never mind. I was like, God, thanks, Chris, appreciate it.
You never you never assumed anything like anything like that.

Speaker 14 (24:20):
So way to go, Chris.

Speaker 2 (24:22):
Nice to hear from you.

Speaker 15 (24:23):
But you know what, when was I I was in
the same situation, which was weird, when Lomas Brown had
his uh surprise sixtieth birthday party.

Speaker 3 (24:36):
Lomas Brown, I remember that party right.

Speaker 1 (24:39):
So I was doing a show with Rodney Pete, filling
it over at the local station in LA back in
the day, and we both didn't ask each other if
we were going to the park.

Speaker 3 (24:55):
Okay, of respect, I didn't know if you were going.
You know, it'd been awkward.

Speaker 1 (24:58):
And then we're there at the They're like, I was like.

Speaker 3 (25:02):
I didn't know that. I don't want to say anything.
I know you were going to go in kazus and
that's what it was like. We didn't want to eat goal.
Are you going to Lomas sixty? That's funny, that's funny.

Speaker 14 (25:15):
Let me give you some baseball scores of Fellas. The
Cubs are on top of the Blue Jays four to one,
bottom of the ninth inning, in Toronto. There was a
rain delay for a while between the Braves and the
Mets in New York, but they are back in action
and it's all Mets so far. Juan Soto hit a
two run shot.

Speaker 1 (25:29):
Pete A.

Speaker 14 (25:29):
Lonzo started things off with the two rbi single. Six
to zero is the score bottom of the second in
New York. You can catch all the action on FS one.
The Astros have a four to one lead over the
Red Sox. Top of the ninth. In Houston, the Marlins
outscored the outscored the Guardians thirteen to four. Jacob Marcy
seven rbi in the win for the Marlins, and the
Red shot out the Phillies eight zero. Hottest team in

(25:50):
baseball still the Brewers. They've won twelve in a row,
defeating the Pirates twelve to five. The Padres have won
five in a row, crushing the Giants eleven to one.
They have a half game lead in the NL West
over the Dodgers. Dodgers about to start their game against
the Angels in Anaheim. NFL news. Vikings wide receiver Justin
Jefferson still dealing with a hamstring injury out of practice.

Speaker 7 (26:09):
His status is going to be reevaluated next week.

Speaker 14 (26:11):
You can expect Caleb Williams and the Bear starters to
play in their second preseason game against the Bills. Bill's
running back James could agree to a four year, forty
eight million dollar extension, and Browns rocky quarterback Shador Sanders
has an oblique injury. He is day to day, won't
practice Thursday, unlikely to play in their second preseason game
on Sunday against the Eagles. Back to you, guys, Thanks, Monts,

(26:34):
Jess appreciate it.

Speaker 1 (26:36):
It is the odd Couple on a worship Wednesday, Rob
Parker and Rob Gara, better known as Rob G. Filling
in for kelvin Washington. Let's welcome in former NFL All
Pro linebacker Sean Merriman and also founder of Lights Out
Extreme Fighting. Sean, what's up? Welcome to the Odd Couple.
Say hello to Rob G.

Speaker 6 (26:57):
Rob G. What's up?

Speaker 3 (26:58):
What's up? Sean? We're doing great? Hey you good man.

Speaker 6 (27:02):
Just cranking away seeing all this news. Man, it got
me doing jumping jacksonwhere I.

Speaker 3 (27:06):
Was hoping that some of that UFC money fell your way.
Rob G. Yeah, before we get to.

Speaker 4 (27:11):
The football, quick question, I know you're in the fight game.
You run your own fighting company, and you know you're
all deep into it. I was shocked when I saw
the news that the UFC was getting out, basically getting
out of the pay per view business for this seven year,
seven billion dollar deal with CBS in Paramount Plus. I'm
based on your tweets, I'm assuming you think this is
a good idea.

Speaker 6 (27:30):
Though it is, man and crazy enough, this is a
big win for Paramount. I know people seeing that big
seven plus billion dollar deal, but you gotta think of this,
Uh UFC is a is a conglomer man.

Speaker 10 (27:44):
Man.

Speaker 6 (27:44):
They's so global, Paramounts most of their subscriptions and base
is in the US, so they're going to gain, you know,
a big subscription base internationally. And if you know, if
you guys don't recall, man, like when when uctually left
Fox and to ESPN, they in one week, I think
within one week it was over seven hundred thousand uh

(28:07):
subscribers to ESPN plus in one week, right, And so
you got to think of the lifetime, lifelong of the customer. Man.
But I'll tell you one thing though, you know, the
the UFC's gonna miss is everything.

Speaker 13 (28:18):
You know.

Speaker 6 (28:19):
ESPN is big. They got your show the programming. They
got your subscriptions. They're big internationally, so you're gonna miss
out on that part. But I think this is a big,
big win for paramount, huge.

Speaker 4 (28:30):
Real quick follow up rob before you get to it
in the football. Do you think, Sean honestly that the
UFC still would have made this move if they still
had one of those marquee John Jones, Connor McGregor guys
that are putting out three four million dollar pay per
view guys.

Speaker 6 (28:47):
No, I think I think ultimately, you know, I keep
saying the pay per views, pay per views is not dead,
but the subscription model for the lifelong term of the
customer that's going to be there, is gonna over over.
It's gonna you know, it's going to be way over.
Then you can pay for a fifty or sixty dollars
pay per view. There's still gonna be some big events on.
You know, ESPN is great, man, They got a lot

(29:09):
of stuff, and I think overall, man, for the lifelong
customer of anyone of these subscription based platforms, they're going
it's a big, big win. You know you UFC man,
I don't think people under saying UFC is a is
a big media company with great fights. That's how they
present it. And so the show the program and to
lead up the build ups to the fights, uh, the

(29:30):
the reality shows. They get so much more that Paramount
can tap into. Now it's ridiculous. And you know, having
a fight on the white White White House lawn right
that that they're going to be able to promote, you know,
one of the four or six big events of the
year is huge for Paramount.

Speaker 3 (29:49):
Yeah. I don't know about a fight at the White House,
but I guess whatever.

Speaker 6 (29:53):
But I'm just saying, Robert, the thing is, you know,
in the fight business, it's all about promotion.

Speaker 3 (29:59):
Yeah, I get that.

Speaker 1 (30:00):
Yeah, Yeah, I'm just saying from the standpoint of it's
just to me, it's like, uh, the Wild Wild West.
Let's turn the football the shador Sanders. Uh, just get
your take on it. I mean the thing, I guess
I just can't get over. And it's like some of
the former players and people who are uh just out

(30:21):
there and uh mel Kiper like blowing a gasket and
they can't believe this and they're setting them up to
fail and all these other conversations football, if you can play,
I just can't believe No one's gonna let you play
if you're that guy. But what do you make of
where he is? And I've never seen so much made
of a first game of a preseason. Am I crazy?

Speaker 6 (30:47):
Yeah? But you gotta you gotta think and what's transpired?
What's what's the brown jam? The brown gym is Andrew
bar and he got a real problem in his hands.
Andrew Barry got a problem on his hands because he
got a few guys. It's hurt, and you know should
do I think was hurt? He had his shoulder, whatever

(31:07):
it was.

Speaker 3 (31:09):
He's hurting, that's what it is.

Speaker 1 (31:11):
He's not playing on Saturday, so he's hurt.

Speaker 6 (31:15):
But you know what he got the honest guy, don't lie.
You got enough on film to know you can go
out there and get it done. And so right now
what he put on film is enough. I'm not going
to say competing. And actually, matter of fact, I don't
think he should even think about starting the first four
weeks of the season. Sit back and get you some
more reps in I think byt week six, week eight

(31:37):
should do it well, be the starter. And that's a
good thing because look at the history of all the
guys that had a shot somewhere in the mid middle
of the season. Whoever that start is going to be
initially coming out the gate. Let them go out there,
and I'm not going to say stinking up, but let
them underperform while you're learning and getting reps behind them,
and you just come in and play a little bit

(31:58):
better to him and show that you're ceiling is higher
than that starter. That's all should do. It has to be.
He is a prime and perfect position right now where
he shouldn't rush. He shouldn't make it a big deal.
He's not on the field right now and he's exactly
where he needs to be. But when he put on
film is more than enough anybody know that he can
start in this league.

Speaker 3 (32:17):
After game one of a preseason.

Speaker 1 (32:19):
Really, like I'm this is what I'm asking Sean Seriously,
no reps with the first team. I just teams don't
carry four quarterbacks drafted in the fifth round. People didn't
Tom Brady didn't think enough of him to even draft
him with the Raiders, and Tom Brady supposedly his mentor.
And I'm not saying he can't play or there's no

(32:40):
place for him, but I just don't I don't think
that that's where the Browns are.

Speaker 3 (32:44):
I really don't because Rob.

Speaker 6 (32:46):
Rob, I'm with you. I'm not on a high train either,
like somebody go out to have a big game. It's
like somebody you know, dropping a single but their album's
up right right, Like you know what I'm saying, I'm not.
I don't follow the high train. But I've seen enough
for him be able to make elite throws. And I'm
not saying that he gonna go out there and do
it all the time, but he has a capability and

(33:07):
his ceiling is higher. We already seen tickets. We've seen
these you know, we've seen these other Hunty hunty right, Yes,
we we've seen these guys already. We know that they
can be really, really solid backups. The only thing we
haven't seen is a ceiling of Shador Sanders. And so
that's all. That's all I'm really saying. I'm not. I'm

(33:27):
sore gets his hype trained and that's ridiculous. And everybody,
you know, these little clerical social media go viral. Oh
he's the greatest.

Speaker 11 (33:34):
Oh I told you he should.

Speaker 6 (33:36):
No, no, no, no, no, I'm not.

Speaker 1 (33:38):
I'm not with you, Okay, you know what I'm saying,
that's the part that I can't get. I understand and
even people have played you know what I mean, and
and and I mean mel.

Speaker 3 (33:46):
Kiper, they don't drive him.

Speaker 1 (33:47):
There's something wrong with for football or I'm like, dude,
all the all the quarterbacks, you got wrong, and you're
going to sit here and tell everybody that they're wrong.

Speaker 3 (33:57):
I just thought it was crazy Robert.

Speaker 6 (34:00):
He throws a couple picks. Yeah, we're gonna tell here
he's Yeah, he should have gone fifth round. And then
when he goes back and throw two touchdown passes. I
told y'all it's gonna be it's a lot of back
and forth. I don't follow the high tam. I follow
consistency and what a guy is capable of doing. And
can we see him improved? So yeah, I do. I
would love to see him on the field again and
do the same thing and perform again like he did

(34:22):
last time. But what I'm saying is I've seen enough
of eliteists where his feeling gets higher than everybody on
that roster right now.

Speaker 4 (34:29):
Former NFL All pro Sean Merriman on the couple Sean
last one for me, we had about thirty or sixty
seconds here, we started the show talking about Travis Kelcey
and his comments the GQ, saying that he lost his
focus the last two years, and we know before the
Super Bowl he was openly thinking about retirement as an athlete.
When you hear a player say something like that, how
confident are you that he's gonna be able to just

(34:50):
flip the switch and get back to his previous self
this sub coming.

Speaker 3 (34:53):
Season, especially because the last two years or is he
already one fed out the door and he should just
retire as it is.

Speaker 6 (35:00):
So one thing I've always admired about Floyd Mayweather is
no matter how big a success was, he stayed hungry.
That is so unusual for any athlete because once you
get to a certain level, this dog, right, this dog
leads out of you a little bit. You've already you know,
you got your family, you got enough money, you get comfortable.
It is hard to go out there and physically throw

(35:21):
your body around and compete with somebody out there trying
to make a name for themselves that you just over
time lose the hunger. So any athlete I've ever seen
that have a massive amount accomplishments, a massive amount of money,
and a massive amount of success. It can still go
out there and have that dog eat. I give them
all the credit in the world. So I wasn't I

(35:42):
wasn't surprised at all what he said. I mean, look,
you know what, girlfriend is right, So like you, at
the point now where he's at the tail end of anything.
But he has to find that dog back in him.
And it sounds like from that comment that he lost
a little bit, he lost focus, but he's regaining it.
But it is really really hard, man, to get that

(36:02):
dog like it used to be where you've had as
much success as these as.

Speaker 1 (36:07):
All right, Sean, always a pleasure, my man. We appreciate you.

Speaker 3 (36:10):

Speaker 15 (38:21):
What's up brother?

All the time? What's up? My man?

Speaker 12 (38:24):
Hey?

Speaker 13 (38:24):
It was great here, Uh, Chris come on the line
with you all, Like how robbed you kind of let
y'all know talk. It was like a really good radio moment.
One other thing, too, is Rob you gotta start playing
your Belichick song?

Speaker 10 (38:36):
Man?

Speaker 13 (38:37):
Are you starting to get like Taylor? Where you only
you only play the song? You gotta streaming on Spotify
and Apple.

Speaker 1 (38:42):
No, we can play it, Alex, where's the Belichick song?

Speaker 3 (38:45):
You got it? We'll play it. Let's talk. Hold on,
cav we got time, hold on and then you tomorrow.
You got it? The Bulletchick song, the Belichick song?

Speaker 7 (38:54):
Oh not on hand?

Speaker 3 (38:55):
Okay, try to find it while we're talking. Go ahead.

Speaker 2 (38:57):
Oh did we lose them?

Speaker 3 (38:58):
Oh we lost them? Oh no?

Speaker 1 (39:01):
Hey, Will and Wisconsin you're in there. You're the new
last call, wells Ryan, Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (39:05):
What's up?

Speaker 11 (39:07):
What's up on our sports factory?

Speaker 12 (39:09):
Man?

Speaker 10 (39:09):
Good to hear you, guys.

Speaker 3 (39:11):
How are you you? What's up? Will?

Speaker 6 (39:13):
I am good?

Speaker 11 (39:14):
Still turning to Bernod, still getting shows out, Rob, But
I had to kind of close it out with that
Browns conversation. So Andrew Berry right, like, there's not a
business segment that begins that conversation with the managing parts
of that of any ownership is making decisions that are
contrary to the person.

Speaker 6 (39:34):
That signs the checks.

Speaker 11 (39:36):
So here I have a situation here, we all have
a situation where a historically poor choosing QB team goes
out and in a draft where there are several players
available that for a young quarterback, are able to help
that quarterback out.

Speaker 6 (39:52):
So either the.

Speaker 11 (39:52):
Browns wasted one draft pick early or two draft picks.

Speaker 3 (39:57):
Will you both phone clicking? Oh yeah, it's just clicking
really bad.

Speaker 1 (40:04):
I just I just don't see rob g the idea
of them taking to play real quick for Kevin Culver City. Here,
we don't feel let home you and see mister bella
check won't okay the way you do your thing ding

(40:25):
ding ding, and you'll get yours, mister Bella check fooling.

Speaker 3 (40:32):
Around with that young stuff like you do.

Speaker 2 (40:37):
Boooo.

Speaker 5 (40:41):
All right, Elijah looks disgusted. I know it's like, do
you have to hear that again?

Speaker 3 (40:45):
I hit it out the park?

Speaker 4 (40:48):
Is that what you're saying Jason Smith He's Gonna Break
your face.

Speaker 1 (40:53):
Dog Show. Wow, Rob G. Thanks for filling in my man,
No problem, Rob. Should I come in them all? The
Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon is coming up next.

Speaker 2 (41:03):
I never miss your radio show.

Speaker 3 (41:05):
