That's right, click that bell notification all right, So story
of the Night you know, it's funny from sometimes the
content gods are on our side because we we're planning
on talking Shador Sanders Cleveland Browns anyway to lead this

(01:34):
hour because obviously, of course that game, the Cleveland Brown's
playing the Carolina Panthers. That game started at seven Eastern,
so when we came on air, it was just getting underway. Well,
we are now about midway through the third quarter. Shador
Sanders is still in still in eleven of nineteen passing
one hundred and three yards two touchdowns. Cleveland Brown's up

(01:54):
fourteen to seven. Listen, you know, I'll say this is
you know, it kind of stinks on social media, not
that social media is a by, you know, a reflection
of anything. But you know, the people that thought Shador
was going to be good, everybody's really happy. The people
that said he isn't going to be good are saying
it's the preseason. It doesn't mean anything. You're a dude

(02:17):
who had to earn your spot. I hope you don't
mind me saying it, but from my understanding, you had
to earn your spot in the preseason. So one I
would love for you to tell the story of how
you did so in your rookie training camp and then
two what this performance means for Shador Sanders.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (02:34):
So in ninety eight, I got drafted one hundred and
ninety ninth pick in the draft to the Atlanta Falcons,
and I was a left tackle coming out of San
Diego State. And when I got there, they had a
perennial Pro bowler and Bob Whitfield at the left tackle,
and they had about two other guys who had been
in the league and so on and so forth.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
So I was about fourth on the depth chart you
know should.

Speaker 5 (02:57):
Do and I, you know, we're I think fifty four
picks apart from each other. So essentially we were in
the same position. And the thing that I knew that
would give me an advantage was learning the playbook immediately.
So all I did was just study the playbook. I

(03:19):
didn't want to go out, I don't want to do anything.
I just wanted to be prepared if I got an opportunity.
And Art Shaw would call young players up to the
board and have them periodically draw plays to see if
they were grasping the offense. And so whenever I had
my chance to do that, I wouldn't just draw what

(03:41):
the offensive line did. I would draw what the running
backs did for the pass play. I would draw the
routes and the depth of the pocket, all of those things,
and it kind of made them look at me like,
huh okay.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
And so the first couple weeks.

Speaker 5 (03:56):
In training camp, I'm stuck over there in the log
gem and left tackle right tackle gets hurt, pulled his groin,
so he was out for some time. And so he
moved me over to second string right tackle. And what
that did was it gave me more reps, and it
gave me more playing time in the preseason. And so

(04:16):
just doing that and battling in the preseason, I hadn't
really played right tackle, but I was figuring it out.
And it came down to the final preseason game when
that starter was back from injury. Cory Lucci, it was
a free agent, came over from Buffalo, and Art came
over the sideline and said, Hey, I think we're playing

(04:37):
the Bengals that game. He said, hey, e From, Corey, Corey,
you're going to start from. You play the second quarter, Corey,
you play the third. E From you play the fourth,
and whoever plays the best starts opening weekend. He said,
right on the field right there, he put on the

(04:59):
table what you were playing for so we wouldn't be confused. Wow, okay,
he said, whoever plays the best is our starter opening
weekend next week.

Speaker 2 (05:15):
That was it.

Speaker 5 (05:16):
And so I remember watching that first Normally, when you're
not in you got your helmet off, you know. I
had my helmet on and my chin strap bucket and
my mouthpiece in the whole first quarter. And I was
just chomping at the bit to get an opportunity and
went out there and I literally put it all out there.

(05:39):
Had no idea how I played. I knew I played hard.
That next morning, we're going down. Our training camp was
in Swannye, Georgia, and we stayed at the Falcon Inn
and Swannye, Georgia, and I was coming down from the hotel.

(06:00):
He was walking up and I was like, what up, Corey?
And he just walked past. Who I think, No, no, that
one got something to eat in the training room.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
Whatever.

Speaker 5 (06:08):
And then we had a team meeting. They had made
final cuts team meeting. So I'm sitting in a team
meeting and I'm in there and I'm like, oh snap,
Corey went up to the room. I'm gonna go get
him because it's gonna be late for the meeting. And
when I got up, Art looked at me, it was
like come here. He was standing outside. He called me
and said, hey, look, uh we just cut Corey.

Speaker 2 (06:27):
Wow.

Speaker 5 (06:28):
Congratulations you started next week at Carolina. Tell you two things.
Don't be afraid to be successful and don't go out
there and beat down your leg. And I was like okay,
and going on the road my rookie year to Carolina

(06:51):
to play against Kevin Green, somebody I had been watching
for a decade plus destroy offensive lineman.

Speaker 2 (07:02):
I had a tough opening game.

Speaker 5 (07:04):
I mean I think I gave up two sacks, but
we won and Art I was sitting in the locker
and Art I said, hey, man, congratulations you won your
first NFL game. And I was like okay, and he
was like, don't worry about You'll see him again. You'll
see him in Atlanta. I had a much better game
against him when we played Atlanta. But I started my

(07:24):
career in that moment. That preseason game, that fourth preseason
game was the moment where my career could have taken
off or it could have stayed sidelined.

Speaker 4 (07:36):
So the big theme to me is for anybody on
Twitter saying, yeah, that's preseason, it doesn't matter, your response
would be, what it matters.

Speaker 5 (07:48):
It matters more than you know teams NFL rosters are
built in the preseason. They're not built in train they're
not built in OTAs or during the year. The roster
is built in preseason training camp. That's you go to
camp with ninety guys, only fifty three survive.

Speaker 4 (08:09):
Yep, got six quarterbacks right now too, so.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
You know, you know, some heads are rolling.

Speaker 5 (08:19):
All you can do is take the each opportunity and
give every single thing you have to solidify a spot
on the opening day roster. That is the goal for
a late round draft pick, that is the goal. My
first initial goal going into training camp was I just

(08:39):
want to make the team. Then it became I just
want to be able to make the active roster. Then
I want to start right, and then you start going
I end up. You know, well, obviously we won nineteen games,
eleven in a row, all the way up to the

(09:00):
Super Bowl. I was the youngest player to ever start
in the Super Bowl. I was the fourth rookie in
NFL history to start all nineteen games, including the Super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (09:10):
Wow, And I was.

Speaker 5 (09:13):
I made the All Rookie team, me, Peyton Manning, Fred Taylor,
Kyle Turley, my linemate from San Diego State. Like, we
all made the Rookie team right from a seventh round
draft pick. That's how Robert Edwards like that. That's how
serious training camp in preseason is. Oh, it matters. It matters, brother,

(09:39):
You don't get your opportunity. You don't get a lot
of chances, of course, like you literally like you. And
because coach, it's a test. Coaches want to see and
Art told us that to see how we would respond.
That's the whole point. He gave us that information, to

(09:59):
see how we'd respond. I'm a twenty two year old
rookie and I'm just trying to figure it out. And
I'm looking around, like, all right, well, this is an opportunity.
I don't even play right tackle, but I'm playing it
now and I played it my first four years in
the league.

Speaker 4 (10:15):
An unbelievable story. Shador Sanders did just pick up yet
another first down right now as we speak. Stats are
obviously updating in real time, but the Browns are up
fourteen to seven in the third quarter and again driving
two touchdown passes for Shador, And I'll tell you what
you know, the pass game has opened up the run

(10:37):
game because just a big, big chunk on the ground.
So just your overall evaluation. What does it mean now?
Obviously we I think everybody expects Joe Flacco to be
the starting quarterback week one, but Dylan Gabriel's banged up,
Kenny Picketts banged up. You know, Shador needed an opportunity,
he gets it. What does it mean going forward for him?

Speaker 5 (10:59):
All right, Well, it means that he's positioned himself to compete.
We all know that they probably are going to start
Joe Flacco, but they don't have to. True, they don't
have to if you're if you're performing at a high
clip now, schrduer will get more reps with the ones

(11:20):
coming up, because starters will play in the next preseason game.

Speaker 2 (11:26):
What are you.

Speaker 5 (11:26):
Doing is just chipping away. You're just chipping away at
that depth chart. You will get more opportunities based on
how you're playing right now, and that's all you can
That's all you can want as a competitor, as a player,
all you want is an opportunity to compete. So all
he us to do is keep going. This is going
to be an opportunity for a third scoring drive and

(11:51):
an opportunity for him to put three touchdowns up on
the board. That's huge and your first outing and the
NFL action preseason or not, he doesn't have three turnovers.

Speaker 4 (12:04):
I was just thinking that, yeah, right, well.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
And well the sack five times we've seen those games.

Speaker 4 (12:09):
Well, And it's funny because the people who are saying, oh,
this means nothing. If it was the opposite, if it
was zero tur tds to buy and ts Yoh, I
told you, I told you you are you are one
thousand percent right.

Speaker 2 (12:26):
That's that's how they are, Aaron. They will.

Speaker 5 (12:32):
Change the narrative, switch it to whatever course fits their
point of view.

Speaker 2 (12:39):
Well, look, I told you couldn't play.

Speaker 5 (12:40):
That's why he's fifth round draftik turned them all over
three times, three touchdowns.

Speaker 2 (12:46):
It's just preseason.

Speaker 4 (12:48):
Well, sorry, Nugga, where you say something else?

Speaker 2 (12:51):
No, No, that's it.

Speaker 4 (12:52):
All I was gonna say was it has so far.
It is now late third quarter. He's still in the game.
So that's a great sign it Yeah, and it's gone
about as well as it could have. You know, I'll
let you break down the film, you know, in a
more detailed way. I mean a misthrow early, but looks
like hypothetically could be leading them on another touchdown drive.

(13:15):
As he has led the Cleveland Browns on a third
touchdown drive. They are now up twenty to seven, extra
point pending late in the third quarter. Listen, I have
no affiliation to him. I'm happy for him. I told
you off the top. You know, to me, I feel
like he is being treated like Bronni James, as if

(13:36):
he is only in the NFL because of who his
father is. No disrespect to Berani on the basketball side,
but it's the truth. Shador was the Big twelve Player
of the Year, the offensive player of the Year last year.
He threw thirty seven touchdowns. He completed seventy four percent
of his passes. If you want to say there's holes
in his game, stuff to work on, that's every rookie

(13:56):
from cam Ward on down. But I just thought, and again,
by the way, is some of it self inflicted? Probably?
We had Adam kaplan on earlier that said that said
he did not interview well during the process. Okay, but
to your point, all you can ask for is a chance.
He's gotten it. Three touchdown drives now, Brown's up twenty

(14:17):
one to seven with Shador with two touchdown passes.

Speaker 5 (14:19):
And I love the fact that he's playing the game. Yep,
he's playing the game. It's not a two series and
you come out this is a huge sample size for
him coming in at halftime make adjustments. How do you
come out of halftime? Like all of these things are
part of things that these teams need to know, yep,

(14:41):
that he can handle as a quarterback backed up, they
just drove down the field, like all of those things.
Short yard is fourth down. They're one for two on
fourth down conversions, all of those things you want to
know about the guy who's going to be the signal
caller for you.

Speaker 4 (14:58):
Well, even on the possession before he was backed up
basically on his own one yard line and took a
short pass just to make it easier to punt. I mean,
those are like the little things that you know, he
could have tried to chuck it down field and pick
up the big play. It's like, no, he made it
easier for his punter flip the field that you know,
the defense gets a stop now all of a sudden.
So Schador has been fantastic. To Ephram's point, you know

(15:21):
you can't say it means nothing when the same people
would have said that it meant something if he wasn't playing. Well,
you know, I'll be curing Parker. Okay, yeah, yeah, we did.
Hear from Rob Parker would.

Speaker 2 (15:31):
Be going crazy, right. I told you, I told.

Speaker 4 (15:35):
You, Alex. You want to you want to bring up
the Rob Parker group text from just by the way.
We love Rob. So if Rob here's this after the
fact that I'm I'm not criticizing Rob, I'm criticizing him,
go ahead, Alex.

Speaker 6 (15:49):
So apparently Rob has no sense of a vacation or
knowing how it's time to chill or enjoy himself for
maybe when he's at Magic City, get another serving of wings.
Don't worry about the games, he texted us in the
group chat, and I quote apparently Sanders just won the
Super Bowl. Too much made out of a first preseason game.

(16:09):
I refuse to be a part of it. Hashtag Tim
Tebow two point zero. That's just a ridiculous take.

Speaker 5 (16:20):
Rob Parker's crazy, man, He's crazy because to your point, Aaron,
if shadu Or had instead of two touchdowns and three
scoring drives, if he had two turnovers and you know,
missed opportunities and missing throws. That's all he would be

(16:41):
talking about. And I couldn't reply it was just preseason.
It's just preseason. No, man, this is how you make
the team. Preseason is there for a reason. It's there
for a reason. There would be no Tom Brady without preseason.

Speaker 4 (16:59):
Great Cole Russell Wilson.

Speaker 5 (17:00):
Yeah, Russell Wilson, Like, what are we talking? No, it matters,
It really matters. It really does.

Speaker 4 (17:09):
Sador Sanders Cleveland Brown's up twenty one to seven late
third quarter, two touchdown passes for Shador Sanders and a
third touchdown drive just moments ago. This is the odd
couple of Fox Sports Radio. Kelvin and Rob will be
back on Monday. Aratorus E from salam In until ten
pm Eastern Time when I come back. Actually, I do

(17:31):
want to switch gears to an NBA story. Steph Curry
said something very interesting today and I actually want your
perspective as a big time NBA guy, Ephram. We'll discuss
Steph Curry's comments next Fox Sports Treaty.

Speaker 4 (18:31):
Welcome back, everybody, This is The Odd Couple Fox Sports Radio.
On a funcky flashback Friday, Rob and Kelvin are out.
They'll be back Monday. Aratorus E from salam are in
AK and E. Stiff back joints not cooperating. Some days
your body's just like no. And on those days, luckily
there's a leave with just one pill. A leave provides
up to twelve hours of paying relief so you can

(18:53):
keep moving. Use as directed. Quick update probably final update
from from from Carolina Shador Sanders has been removed late
in the third quarter for those of you just joining us,
really played and looked about as good as he possibly
could have or could have been expected. Fourteen of twenty

(19:14):
three passing one hundred and thirty eight yards, two touchdown passes,
three scoring drives Shador Sanders. Night is complete with just
about a minute togo in the third quarter, Tyler Huntley
has officially entered the game. Ephraim really quickly, do want
to switch gears to the NBA. We got a little

(19:34):
bit of pseudo noteworthy news today. Schedule leaks are starting
to happen. ESPN's Shams Charania reporting that it appears Opening
Night we are going to get Warriors Lakers. So that's
kind of noteworthy in and of itself. But why I
want to talk about it, why I want to bring
it up, it is because I thought Steph Curry sets

(19:59):
up thing pretty interesting today, Producer Ian. It was an
interview on Serious XM correct, Okay, serious XM Serious XM
NBA Radio NBA Radio. Steph Curry asked about the state
of his career in the Golden State Warriors.

Speaker 8 (20:15):
I truly believe we can be championship relevant and in
the sense of We're not, probably not gonna be the
favorite in any conversation, but that we have a team
that's capable of achieving, you know, that level again, knowing
all that we've been through over the last thirteen years
and those four trophies over there, so to add to

(20:36):
that would be amazing. I think it's realistic to build
towards that. I think for me, that's literally the only
thing I'm playing for at this point.

Speaker 4 (20:44):
So Sudor Sanders, not Schudor Sanders. Steph Curry, the only
thing he's playing for at this point is a championship.
Obviously he's not gonna say otherwise. But if I was
telling you during the break, my cousin, happy forty fifth
birthday to him, huge Warriors fan, been a Warriors fan
dating back long before Steph Curry. But I texted him

(21:05):
today for his birthday. We started talking about the state
of the Warriors. I kind of said, I think the
runs over, but it's tough because Steph is playing at
such a high level. Steph apparently disagrees. I don't know
if you found out about the text chain and felt
the need to go on serious XM just to shut
me up. Do you think the Warriors are still a
true title contender, especially the way that they're currently constructed,

(21:27):
Jimmy Butler, Draymond Green, eccetera.

Speaker 2 (21:29):
It'll be tough.

Speaker 5 (21:30):
I still think they're too small to compete in the West,
and so shooting is wonderful and great, but you gotta
be able to rebound. They don't have Kevon Looney, who
was a big part of that, and they're older. Draymond's older,
Steph's older. I don't think as Jimmy is older, I

(21:51):
don't think as they're currently constructed, they can compete in
the West. Is the West is very big. Yep, you
got Kevin Durant coming over to Houston, the Lakers. It
just I don't I don't see them as they're constructed

(22:13):
being able to compete now. They still are probably gonna
trade Jonathan Kaminga and whatever they do to to uh
build up that roster around that trade could help them,
but as of now, I see them as a playing
team again.

Speaker 4 (22:30):
Yeah, it's tough because I you know, obviously that's what
Steph's gonna say that he still believes they have a window,
that there's you know, he's gonna say that. I'm with you.
I don't really think they're a title contender at this point.
And it's not Steph's fault. It's just guys are older.
Draymond's older, you don't have the size whatever. I was funny,
I was telling my cousin. I said, I I felt

(22:52):
like the Jimmy Butler acquisition was was like the old
school sitcom that like season seven just adds a new
character and it's just like, oh, yeah, we're gonna keep
this thing going. It's like, no, it's just time to
end our thing. Yeah, yeah, baby, Yes, there's definitely a
lot of babies involved. Yeah, It's like when Tory showed
up on Saved by the Bell, It's like, who is this?

(23:14):
Why are we doing this?

Speaker 2 (23:15):
All right?

Speaker 4 (23:16):
So my question for you, you're a Lakers fan, I
will defend the Warriors because I think this era is over,
but I'll still my cousin is but like, it's so
tough because you have this franchise icon. You don't want
him going somewhere else. And you know, you, being a
Lakers guy, you lived it with Kobe about a decade ago.
Is that it probably should have started the rebuild maybe

(23:38):
two or three years earlier. You know, after the Achilles
injury that not only was he never the same, but
the franchise was never the same. And it's just like
with Steph. It's not that I like feel bad for
the Warriors, but I understand the predicament of you still
have this incredible player playing so well at an advanced
age and you want to build a championship team around him.

(24:00):
I'm just curious from your perspective as a Lakers guy, like,
I don't know what else they can do, Like, they're
not gonna trade Steph, They're not gonna try to rebuild
with him on the roster, and I think you just
got to keep bringing in these Jimmy Butler types hoping
somehow it clicks, even though again I ultimately don't think.

Speaker 2 (24:17):
That it will well.

Speaker 5 (24:18):
I mean, I don't know if they can afford to
build out the roster anymore in the new CBA and
the second Apron teams aren't just you know, taking a
blind eye to the luxury tax anymore, So you don't
even have the maneuverability to go out and just add
pieces and be like, well, we're gonna make a run

(24:39):
at it no matter how much it costs.

Speaker 2 (24:41):
The league isn't structured like that anymore.

Speaker 5 (24:43):
And so you know, you have to be very strategic
and how you add pieces like you know, the Lakers
when added DeAndre Aiden to be that guy in the middle,
they brought in a Marcus Smart and if he's healthy,
he helps as a wing defender. It's those little things
like that that you got to try to find value

(25:03):
in guys who were high value guys who may have
you know, been disenfranchised somewhere.

Speaker 2 (25:11):
But I don't, I don't.

Speaker 5 (25:13):
I don't know the moves that they can make to
be relevant and too for them to really hold on
and prolong. Steph Curry's what he has left outside of
you know, some crazy trade happening, but I don't even
know if they have the assets to do that.

Speaker 4 (25:33):
Yeah, yeah, and the Apron stuff. And we're not going
to bore you with salary cap talk right now, but
it does. It makes things so much more complicated. I
actually think it's a net negative for the NBA. You know,
you can't keep these teams together even when they're built organically,
like the you know, the Thunder just paid all those
guys this offseason.

Speaker 2 (25:53):
That's it. It's Yep's a rap, buddy.

Speaker 4 (25:54):
That's exactly it. Yeah, so Steph curR, he's saying that
he still believes the Wars have a championship window. Doesn't
sound like Ephraim and I feel the same way. I'll
tell you, what do you want to come back when
we do? I want to talk about another aging veteran
who also seems to think that he has a window here.

(26:15):
That would be Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 2 (26:18):
It's a interesting Cobbas. You were going to say, Steve
di Saga.

Speaker 4 (26:21):
I was going to be like, hey, Segers, not aging,
he's younger. So wait a second here, No, never looked
younger to Sega. What's trending?

Speaker 9 (26:28):
Well, let's get to the three NFL exhibitions from tonight.

Speaker 4 (26:31):
Shall wait.

Speaker 9 (26:31):
Cleveland is at Carolina, and rookie quarterback Shador Sanders, who started,
is done for the night. Played nearly three quarters, had
two touchdown passes, fourteen of twenty three through the air
one hundred and thirty eight yards. He had a ten
yard scramble among the nineteen yards on the ground on
four carries. It's now Cleveland twenty four to seven at Carolina.
Early in the third quarter, Tyler Huntley, playing quarterback for

(26:55):
the Browns, off the bench, starter for Carolina, Bryce Young
with a touchdown path Andy Dolton off the bench for
the Panthers with an interception thrown. Early third quarter at
New England, It's Patriots twenty seven to three over Washington.
A touchdown run for each quarterback for New England, Josh

Speaker 4 (30:07):
Say you AND i were talking about this earlier of
the show that you know they say the best job
in the world as a fire college football, coach the
backup quarterback that's like the locker room guy that has
very little chance of going in is probably a close.
Second Mi alma, Mater, dan you, Know, DAN i was
telling you for You kanarlofsky WHEN i was. There Dani
rolofski was there and carved out a nice like twelve year.

Speaker 9 (30:30):
Career Jim sorgie at The colts for, years.

Speaker 4 (30:32):
For, years you, know and So Easton. Stick this generation
is Dani. Rolofsky it could be a lot.

Speaker 9 (30:38):
Worse Charlie whitehurst for years with The, chargers anybody who
was you know before they had the emergency third. Quarterback
they could carry three and the third guy really would
not get into the game and just be holding a.
Clipboard the clipboard guys would still be, paid still a union.
Job never get in.

Speaker 4 (30:57):
All right to, say we'll have a great. Evening we'll
listen to you With jason And mike this, evening and,
uh you'll be back with me tomorrow at some. Point,

raiders At seahawks went we're finished the game. Time so

some very interesting quotes as The steelers open their preseason On.
Saturday that's next arators e from Salam in For rob And.
Calvin Fox Sports. Radio welcome back, everybody a couple Of
Fox Sports. Radio kelvin And rob are out e from

(31:43):

Jason martin eleven Pm, eastern Eight pacific On. Saturdays we

Speaker 2 (32:12):
Back it's.

Speaker 4 (32:13):
GLORIOUS i, MEAN i don't know how Much week zero
breakdown we'll be, doing but we will be on right
after That CLEMSON lsu game In week one Obviously Texas.
Oklahoma that will be Three saturdays from, Now so, basically
two weeks from tomorrow we get college. Football we also
GET Nfl training camps are officially rolling And week one

(32:38):
of the preseason is. Underway should, mention by the way
before we. Continue for forty, years Ty iraq has been
helping customers find the right tires for, how what and
where they. Drive ship fast and freeback by Free road
has a protection with convenient installation options like mobile tire
installation tiraq dot. Com the way tire buying should be
ALSO ak AND E stiff Back joints Dot. Kawa some

(33:00):
days your body's just like. Nope and on those, days
luckily there's a leave with just one. PILL a lead
provides up to twelve hours of paint relief so you
could keep moving use as. Directed so AS i was,
saying training camps are, Rolling week one OF nfl preseason
the first full weekend, obviously we had The hall Of Fame,

(33:21):
game a week, ago but it's rolling and one team
that plays On saturday is The Pittsburgh, steelers which open
against The Jacksonville. Jaguars that's noteworthy Because Travis hunter that
will be his. Debut but one guy that we will
not see on the other sideline or for the other
team in the game Is Aaron. Rodgers Aaron rodgers will

(33:42):
not be, Playing Mike tomlin saying he's totally comfortable with
Where Aaron rodgers. Is you, know this is a little
bit of an old, quote BUT i thought it was.
Interesting Aaron rodgers about a week ago was asked about
kind of the state of the, team and he, said,
QUOTE i think most of the thirty two teams would
probably say something he, said sometimes it's ten to twelve
teams that surprise. You BUT i would, say On i'm

(34:05):
screwing up the, quote basically saying there's really only six
to eight teams that really have a legitimate. Chance sometimes
it's ten to, twelve and there's always teams that surprise.
YOU i would, say on, paper were probably one of
those ten to. Twelve do you believe The Pittsburgh steelers
can be A Super bowl contender With Aaron rodgers as their.

Speaker 2 (34:25):
Quarterback, NO i don't think.

Speaker 3 (34:27):
SO i.

Speaker 5 (34:28):
DON'T i think they can win a playoff. Game they've
shown they can get to the. PLAYOFFS i think they
can win a playoff, game BUT i don't see them
being a contender that in that. Division The bengals are
going to be fired up and ready to Go. Baltimore

(34:48):
who knows What cleveland will, Be but THE afc is pretty.

Speaker 2 (34:57):
Stacked you got A buffalo up there at the, top
you Got Kansas.

Speaker 5 (35:02):
City of, COURSE i don't see, Them and the big
caveat is we don't know Who Aaron rodgers or What
Aaron rodgers is gonna show. Up so for, Me i'm
not gonna take that.

Speaker 2 (35:13):
Bet.

Speaker 4 (35:15):
YEAH i it's funny because we've told you, Know i've heard, people,
oh it's the most interesting story of the. PRESEASON i,
SAID i actually think it's the least interesting story of
the preseason BECAUSE i just think we know Who Aaron
rodgers is at this, point AND i was a guy
that kind OF i don't Dislike Aaron rodgers as much
as some of the. MEDIA i enjoyed him at his.

(35:36):
BEST i accept him for what he is off the.
FIELD i don't really care what your personal beliefs are on,
whatever makes no difference to. Me BUT i kind of
went in with high hopes last year with The. Jets
is you, know you Got Garrett, wilson you got you,
know eventually you Got Devanta adams, whatever and you kind
of just saw that he was a forty forty one
year old guy still try to play quarterback at a high.

(35:57):
Level AND i just think especially in that, division and
it was obviously a talking point throughout last season or
throughout the. Offseason excuse, me But Joe burrow and The,
bengals you, Know Baltimore ravens And Lamar. Hey Maybe chador
in the in The Cleveland. Browns as The browns do
punch in another, Touchdown shador's out of the. GAME i

(36:17):
JUST i don't think there's very much. There Aaron rodgers
and The steelers are playing The Jacksonville jaguars On, saturday really.
Quickly you, know we talked about a little bit, yesterday
But Travis hunter not so much. Tomorrow but what do
you expect to? See what do you hope to see
From Travis?

Speaker 2 (36:33):
HUNER i hope to see.

Speaker 5 (36:33):
GREATNESS i hope to see him continue to play the
game like he's been playing. IT i hope to see
him really lean into being a pro and showing up
and giving that energy and just being. Himself just go
Play Bro's it's at the end of the, day it's.
Football it's the game you've loved and the game you've

(36:55):
played since you were a. Kid so don't be distracted
and get caught up in all of the.

Speaker 2 (37:04):
Foolishness just go play.

Speaker 4 (37:06):
Ball Jacksonville jaguars playing The Pittsburgh steelers tomorrow seven Pm.
Eastern So i'm with. YOU i said it yesterday when
we were filling. In If Dion sanders and all the
guys on that staff At colorado last year that played
in THE nfl believe that he can play both. Ways
If Liam, cohen who's been around THE nfl for whatever

(37:26):
fifteen twenty years, now believe he could play both, WAYS
i don't think it's my place to say that he.
CAN'T a couple other notes From saturday's preseason. Games first of,
all lateist kickoff is eight Thirty. Eastern can we get
a ten o'clock eastern seven o'clock? Kickoff i'm most of
radio till two. AM i, mean, nice if we get
a Nice West Coast. Game Kansas City, chiefs by the,

(37:48):
Way Patrick mahomes will play a series or. Two it's
easy to say it because WHATEVER i like. That Andy
reid is still old school and he's, like, no, no,
no my starters are. Playing i'm getting. Them, Gay i'm
seeing live bullets with. Them what do you make Of
mahomes and The starters getting a couple reps here and
with The Kansas City.

Speaker 5 (38:09):
Chiefs, well when you've been as successful as they have,
been you don't want to stray from what's gotten you.
There so you just it's just it's part of the.
Script it's just this is why we do. It this
is what we're gonna. Do this is what we've been,
doing and it. Everybody the expectation is. There everybody. Knows
so it's not a big shocker, like oh why do

(38:32):
we have To, No, no everybody. Knows this is how
we're doing, it this is how we've always done, it
and so just prepare yourself to. Play won't be, long
but this is how we do. It this is this
is our, way and our way seems to be.

Speaker 2 (38:46):
Winning.

Speaker 4 (38:46):
Yeah, WELL i was gonna ask, you, actually one thing
we haven't talked about over the last two. Days Kansas City.
Chiefs obviously coming off That Super bowl, loss we know
that they're in that upper. Tier has any of the
shine come off of them with That Super bowl? Loss
and then, two is any The Philadelphia eagles are so
good on that defensive front that it seems unfair to

(39:08):
say it's. Replicable but is there anything Like chiefs OR
i think they've won eighteen straight one possession. Games do
you just think that that's who they are and this
is going to go on in perpetuity or at least
for the near, future or do you think they come
back down to earth a little bit as they get,
older maybe got a little bit exposed in The Super.

Speaker 5 (39:25):
BOWL i think they're a great. Team anytime you still
Have Patrick mahomes And Andy, reid you still got a shot.
NOW i also believe that teams are getting better and
understanding how to play against, them and just the talent

(39:47):
and around the. League the league is at an all time.
HIGH i, mean you got young quarterbacks coming in and blazing.
Away it's just it's a difficult league to just stay
at the. TOP Uh AND i Think buffalo is poised
to make some some real big NOISE Uh in terms
of of of them competing and being able to get

(40:11):
over that hump of of of playing against.

Speaker 2 (40:16):
The chiefs sit in the. Playoffs, YEAH i think.

Speaker 4 (40:19):
Times the charm For sean McDermott and.

Speaker 2 (40:21):
Co, eventually some is gonna have to.

Speaker 4 (40:23):
Give it's either gonna be A Super bowl appearance Or
sean McDermott's job one of these. Years so all, right
we gotta get out of. HERE i thank the, Crew
Alex tisher on the, Board Producer Ian steve De saga
from a Partner Ephraim, Slam I'm Aaron. Torres we appreciate
Robbing calvin for letting us sit. In they'll be Back.
