chance to get in at some of these other topics.
Speaker 2 (01:54):
So we got a lot of stuff to get there.
Rob g was that an eighteen play drive?
Speaker 5 (02:01):
It was an eleven minute drive, that's for sure.
Speaker 2 (02:03):
I think it was eighteen plays.
Speaker 1 (02:04):
Was we were just talking about the Bears in that
nineteen play drive, you know that they had was rushed
thirteen Yeah, my gosh.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
Now this TD by Davi Montgomery under review right now.
Speaker 5 (02:15):
If it's Dan's, it'll be thirteen to seven Detroit time
of possession so far, guys in this game, the Ravens
five minutes and nine seconds, Your Detroit Lions nineteen minutes
and four bad.
Speaker 1 (02:30):
I thought you at hour by the way, our Detroit,
I thought you you thought you were a ganggang with
US Raiders.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
Raiders. I'll be a Lions fan for.
Speaker 5 (02:36):
Tight Robert rob If you we're all Lions fans here
on this show, we're not.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
No, we're not. Remember King, Hey, I'm not gonna lie you.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
Funniest thing you ever did since I been here was
when you said I would put my own plug if
I was in the hospital I was a Super.
Speaker 4 (02:54):
Bowl, I would wheel chair over to the spot and
then kick the plug out with my bat bad leg.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
Gonna look it. That one was funny.
Speaker 5 (03:03):
Touchdown confirmed, fourteen to seven Detroit on the road in Baltimore.
Speaker 1 (03:07):
Look, if you're gonna beat the Ravens because they're so
high octank and score in a minute and a half
to three and a half minutes, you better keep the
Lamar Jackson in.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
Derek Henry off the.
Speaker 5 (03:17):
Thirty two plays to nine total yards, one seventy three
to eighty two. The Lions already have twelve first downs
in a quarter and a half of football.
Speaker 4 (03:25):
This remind me wouldn't have they played the forty nine
as an NFC championship game.
Speaker 5 (03:29):
Which is trust me, that's in the back of their head. No,
they bludging the Niners. This has been methodical, slow.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
And I'm just saying in the first half They.
Speaker 1 (03:38):
Are aware that even if you, let's say whatever reason,
they end up getting another three points and go up ten.
This is a Lamar Jackson led team that can score quick,
fasten in a hurry. The Lions absolutely know and especially
look they got they got red zone. They saw what
happened yesterday the last ten minutes of the last with
the four o'clock.
Speaker 2 (03:58):
Games that've been on the East coast, with that, heck.
Speaker 5 (04:00):
And real quick dub did you were right there? First
touchdown drive eleven plays sixty seven yards five forty four o'clock,
this last one eighteen plays ninety eight yards ten forty eight.
Speaker 2 (04:10):
I like the ninety eight yards part is crazy.
Speaker 1 (04:12):
They got that that they got a penalty on the
punt return and put them there to two.
Speaker 2 (04:16):
So yeah, they needed that being able to score for sure.
Speaker 1 (04:20):
Also, we talked about comebacks and just games that were
just crazy yesterday. One of them too was the Chargers
able to come back as well. The Chargers many we
were discussed discussing get the Broncos, who obviously a lot
of people are high on the Broncos. A lot of
people had them maybe winning the division as well. Obviously
some people are the Chargers a couple people, you know,
the Chiefs, so tough division, one of the best in football.
(04:40):
But a comeback for sure, what a pickup them getting
Keenan Allen was again just a guy, a blanket, somebody
that you're used to throwing to if you're justin Herbert.
Speaker 2 (04:51):
That was a great pickup for them.
Speaker 1 (04:52):
It just wasn't working out with the Bears and able
to come back for them, and he's been just with
the doctor ordered for them as they lost Mike Willia
who just decided to retire after Blue. But we were
talking about it a little bit earlier. We had TJ.
Housman's out on go check out the podcast if you
missed it. In Man, I was just thinking about just
the way in which Jim Harball is able to come
into this team who has had success as far as winning.
(05:15):
They've won games in the regular season, but they just
haven't been able to close games. They've lost over ganga games,
very close, last minute, last second, lad play calling, bad
use of timeouts over the last two or three years.
And now it seems to have that stability that he
typically brings to an organization. You go all the way
back to Stanford, you go to the forty nine ers,
(05:36):
you go to Michigan. Now you've seen what he did
last season with the Chargers. Now you're seeing this season,
and we're starting to get some of the best football
that I've seen out of Justin Herbert. He's starting to
be that as we're watching it got Friday night lights
above us here. He's starting to be that prototypical if
I was designing a QB in a lab, would he be.
He has six touchdowns, one interceptions right now, one hundred
(05:56):
and five qb are, his completion percentage almost sixty seven percent,
and he's had comebacks. He's just looked great thus far,
and there's a stability that Jim Harball has had, and
he's actually unlocked him. He's not just doing the are
we gonna run it forty five times and you just
make a couple of passes. He actually is running the offense.
And it kind of reminds me of they're different types
(06:17):
of player. But what he did with Colin Kaepernick where
he said, I'm gonna unleash you, pass it, run it,
be an RPO, you know, just use you as an
absolute weapon. And that's how he's starting to use Justin Herbert,
not just run the ball, not just to bly on
their defense. And he has gotten him to a level
that we thought he could be at and even last
(06:37):
season only having what three interceptions, So he is took
taking his team to the next level. And there's something
when you look at your coach and you absolutely believe
what he's saying. You just absolutely believe in the next play.
You absolutely believe that we can come back and win this.
And they didn't have that with their last coach. They
absolutely had no one day, they had no assurance. They
looked at him, there was no We all knew he
(06:59):
was gonna make the wrong decision when it comes to
play calling, wrong decision when it comes to clock management,
wrong decision, when to go for it, when not to
go for it. And now to be able, I think
they can look over their shoulder and have Jim Harball
and they absolutely believe it. And that's just that extra
five percent that you get from a team that makes
you from a good to a great, that makes you
from barely making the playoffs to having a legitimate chance
(07:19):
to compete for a Super Bowl. And Jim Harball has
continuously brought that everywhere he's gone, and it looks like
so far, he's been able to bring that a season
in three games into his tenure with the Chargers.
Speaker 2 (07:30):
Did you see the playoff game last year? I did?
Speaker 4 (07:33):
Okay, I'm just the Jim Harball is the greatest coach.
Thing I just can't get with. Jim Harball finally won
a championship thanks to cheating with Michigan. That's when we
finally he finally broke through. He's had good team, don't
get me wrong, but he's never won anything until the
cheating scandal and he ran out of town and an
(07:55):
aubur after he knew that was coming down as well.
Speaker 2 (07:58):
After he finally was a well to be.
Speaker 4 (08:00):
He couldn't beat Ohio State for a long time, and
then all of a sudden he was able to beat
Ohio State miraculously. All of a sudden he had all
the hnswers to what had happened. Jim Harball was so
bad with Michigan, so bad. People don't remember this that
he had a pay had to take a pay cut.
You remember that, Like they should have fired him, but
(08:22):
they didn't fire him. They made him take a pay cut.
That was their kind of like way of getting at him.
And then number two, nobody would even remember, the Lions
wouldn't interview him. He couldn't get a job. Remember, he's
trying to get back in the NFL after what had
happened at Michigan, and nobody wanted him, so that happened.
He's turned programs around. I'm just not ready to crown
(08:44):
him because I believe in all honesty that a lot
of the issues that we talk about have to do
with they had bad coaching before. Brandon Steele's probably one
of the worst NFL coaches we okay, And that he
was playing Madden and going forward in his own end
like no matter what. It was like the most ridiculous thing.
(09:08):
And he probably should have been fired a lot sooner
than he was. And uh, he was able to survive
because of that. Remember that he should have been fired
after that playoff game. Remember that they lost to Jacksonville,
which was ridiculous. So my point is, yes, the Chargers
are playing better, They're off to a great start, but
I'm not ready to crown Jim Harball yet. I think
(09:30):
there's a lot of work to go. He had a
great team in San Francisco, they couldn't win. They didn't win,
and then after a while you know, like Jim Harbor
after a while.
Speaker 2 (09:38):
Oh not to move on. He's nomadic. He ain't gonna
be somewhere long.
Speaker 1 (09:41):
He he everything he's like, you know, always give you
that example of again, the things that make him great
are the things that eventually will wear it down there.
You see, He's not gonna have and Andy Reid with
Kansas City, Mike Tomley with the Steelers. I'm gonna be there,
John Harbor, his brother with the with the Ravens. I'm
gonna be here for a long long time. He's here
for a good time, not a long time. He's only
going to be there three four five years max. Now
(10:02):
he has justin Herbert, so that obviously makes it more enticing.
But I can't discredit somebody who has gone everywhere and
had a bunch of them.
Speaker 2 (10:10):
I'm not discrediting him. I'm just not crowning him. And
that's fair. That's fair. But I'm saying to me, the.
Speaker 4 (10:14):
One championship that he won is tainted. So I'm not
going to crown him that he's the greatest coach. Oh
my god, Jim Halball has turned every program around.
Speaker 2 (10:23):
But that's what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (10:25):
He actually goes places and gets the best out of
those guys. And specifically when you talk about what he
was able to do with Andrew Luck early on, then
with Colin Kaepernick, nobody had any expectations of We see
the best version of him J J.
Speaker 2 (10:36):
McCarthy.
Speaker 1 (10:36):
He got him all the way to a tenth pick
and even I was blown away by that. And now
we're seeing the best of Justin Herbert. So here is
something to what he brings and now they're reaping the
benefit of it. And again we'll see it's early, it's
only three weeks, and we'll see what the season holds.
But I like how he is able to come in reinvigorate,
you know, revitalize a team, a franchise, in an organization or
(10:57):
a school and get the best out of them and
get the best out of the quarterback. Because Justin Herbert
currently will be the probably MVP runaway as of three
weeks in. He looks that good. Right now, this team
is sitting at three and oh, especially a comeback win.
They don't win that game last year or two years ago.
I'm sorry because hardbot, they don't win that game two
years ago. They find a way to lose to Dog.
We just will come back. We'll get him back next week.
(11:18):
They don't find a way to win that game two
years ago, and they do because he's there.
Speaker 4 (11:22):
Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven

Speaker 1 (11:41):

got a championship, got the playoffs with him?
Speaker 2 (11:45):
What more do you want from him? Yeah? Okay, we'll see.
What's the super Bowl with the forty nine? What more
you want? The winst YouTube? See yeah? Good? Yeare are

Speaker 1 (13:33):
We were just talking about us THEIAKA, but Robin Kevin
on a Magic City Monday, Ms. Mary Matt clearly it's
a Magic City Monday. We talk about Howna. Ravens got
all the way down there in like four plays, right
back down to the goal line, and they were actually
able to Lions stood them up on third down, Derek
Henry lost the yard to two and then four down
they run it right quickly. Lamar Jackson kind of scrambles
(13:54):
to the right thing and he's gonna, you know, maybe
have that RPO and they stopped it. That was a
huge stop for the Lions there just to be punning away,
but just to keep them out the end zone, which
is hard. It's like that's what I was were talking
about the moment ago Roberie. I said, dude, you can
be up ten the Ravens can score so fast. I
mean it's insane how fast their reality takes three plays,
three and four plays they make up eighty yards. It's incredible.
(14:15):
That's why the line's biggest game plan keep them off.
Speaker 5 (14:19):
But they couldn't get one yard in four plays. Yes, screat,
I might have had to go Derek herey.
Speaker 1 (14:22):
I feel like I was a little beast modies like,
now get given the ball back one more time? All right,
I couple again, be sure to check out a brand
new YouTube channel. As always, we love going live streaming

Speaker 1 (14:42):
We appreciate it as always. All right, Rob, We got
conversations about Jim Harball and how good he is Transformer teams.
Speaker 2 (14:49):
You're not buying it quite yet.
Speaker 1 (14:50):
I believe he's been able to do it everywhere goes
eight seven to seven ninety nine one Fox Who we got.
Speaker 4 (14:54):
Tim in Atlanta, Chili. Tim, you're on the couple Fox
Sports Radio. What's up buddy?
Speaker 2 (14:59):
Chill yo yo?
Speaker 8 (15:03):
Rob you should You shouldn't invote to Anna Danny's green
if you want to crown is as crowning exactly exactly.
Speaker 9 (15:10):
I'm just I'm not We're premature in this society. And
the five stops, No, but he didn't win in those
other stops and the one championship, Tim is chained from cheating.
That's all I'm saying is that's the same guy took
a pay cut, and even the Lions would not interview
Jim Halbard.
Speaker 2 (15:29):
Do you remember that that Dan camp what it was
for that job? It was for the job that Dan
Campbell got.
Speaker 8 (15:35):
And here's my point to that, Like, you know, I'm
a forty nine than right. So he got out coached
the Super Bowl against his brother which is, you know,
really shouldn't be that hard to do his brothers.
Speaker 2 (15:47):
They's not the greatest coach either, exactly.
Speaker 10 (15:50):
And then he got out coached by Peter Carroll all
those years, you know, with that that team, you know,
with the League of Boom and stuff. So and then
he goes to the college football and he's a joke
to guys like Shaving and Trasy Smart because he's doing
all these gamings, coming.
Speaker 8 (16:04):
And have campaign and taking guys. They didn't even taking seriously.
Speaker 10 (16:08):
And so when he finally wanted one by cheating some no.
Speaker 2 (16:11):
Kill you signed. Max ain't gonna be mad. Y'all was
right there defensive. Stop y'all win the super Bowl. You
ain't making them sense to me.
Speaker 1 (16:19):
The man led you to a super See, that's why
you can't trust him, Chilie. I used to trust you
down there in at I don't trust you or led
you to super Bowl. Now you got smoke with me.
Make it make sense, Robbie. Robbie would a lot to
go to the super Bowl. The Lions would love to go
to the super Bowl. You go to the super Bowl? Oh, Man,
I don't even know if he I know'd you who?
Speaker 2 (16:36):
And he got another national championship? Trey in Texas. You're
on the iRED up on Fox Sports Radio. What's up?
Speaker 10 (16:42):
Tray? I got doing?
Speaker 2 (16:43):
Man doing great?
Speaker 11 (16:44):
How are you good? Man?
Speaker 10 (16:47):
Don't travel?
Speaker 8 (16:47):
When I was on a cruise of Swallow Joe.
Speaker 2 (16:49):
How was that you enjoy it?
Speaker 10 (16:51):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (16:51):
It was great?
Speaker 11 (16:52):
Man?
Speaker 12 (16:52):
Come like yeah old Canada to last?
Speaker 2 (16:55):
Oh nice? Nice? Okay?
Speaker 10 (16:57):
But yeah, Man, going to the Harbor tuations, I think
I mean, I think they're a good contending team. I
have to see a few more weeks just to.
Speaker 11 (17:05):
See how they are.
Speaker 2 (17:06):
But that's fair.
Speaker 10 (17:07):
But the Chargers, I mean, you don't you never know
because that's one of the most snake bitten teams.
Speaker 11 (17:12):
They might have an injury or.
Speaker 10 (17:13):
Three, and next thing you know, they're out of the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (17:16):
Let's see, the Chargers and the Clippers are the NBA
and NFL version of themselves. I get it, and got
hurt already, right, I mean, I mean he nice, he's good,
but I mean.
Speaker 2 (17:27):
No, I got a trade. Thank you, my man.
Speaker 4 (17:28):
Appreciate the call. Kevin in Florida. You're on the couple
of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, cav Hey.
Speaker 12 (17:35):
Good either guys, good? Even Hey, I just got something
to say here.
Speaker 13 (17:39):
Oh I don't remember which one of you said it,
but you said Justin Evertt is probably a runaway for
the MVP. But down here in Florida, I don't know
if you guys have watched down south here, but we
got a guy that would take take take that away
from him.
Speaker 2 (17:53):
I mean, we got I didn't agree with that. I'm
with you.
Speaker 4 (17:55):
I didn't agree with that at all about Justin Herbert
being the runaway. I know you're talking about You're talking
about Baker Mayfield.
Speaker 2 (18:04):
Baker, Yeah, Bakers.
Speaker 8 (18:08):
Mayfield is the man right there.
Speaker 13 (18:10):
Three times he's led us back to win this game
in the last minute of the game.
Speaker 1 (18:14):
Well, I mean, Kevin, he's in contentent. But Kevin, why
don't y'all stop being down all the time? I got
to bring it back every time?
Speaker 12 (18:22):
Kevin?
Speaker 2 (18:23):
Know what, Kevin? Kevin?
Speaker 4 (18:24):
When they when rob G knows this, when they did
him dirty in Cleveland, I would like I was the
biggest because Rob G knows I was the biggest supporter
of Baker Mayfield. Only from this standpoint that he was
hurt well and he played you know what I mean,
that's the against him. I mean, let me throw something
that was wrong.
Speaker 1 (18:44):
Some Herb or some Herbert numbers that Kevin, he's currently
first and yards, third and touchdowns, eighth and QBR and
seventh and passer range. So he's getting the job. And
again Baker's right there. Baker's playing some heck of for football.
The Bucks are a good team.
Speaker 2 (18:54):
Like that, like they just keep they're never dead, and
that's they.
Speaker 1 (18:58):
Got their guy. He fits them. They got a good offense.
Mike Evans hopefully's all right with that hamstring and they're good.
Speaker 4 (19:03):
How about Josh in uh San Diego. You're on the
couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Josh?
Speaker 11 (19:09):
What's up? Guys?
Speaker 12 (19:10):
Hey, love your show?
Speaker 13 (19:11):
Thanks?
Speaker 11 (19:12):
Okay, Harball? Right, Like, he goes to San Diego and
he wins. Okay, that's like nothing. No one in San
Diego wins like never, and then he goes and he
wins a national championship with McCart McCart to this kids, dude,
he's done right, Like, so you win with him and
you get to that, you almost win a Super Bowl
(19:34):
with Kaepernick, like, dude, stut athlete, but like not your
like run of the mill. This guy goes and he wins,
and he does it with like not the top guys
in the league. So now you.
Speaker 4 (19:48):
Remember, Michigan doesn't have top athletes. Nobody, he can't.
Speaker 11 (19:51):
I'm just saying quarterback. I'm just saying quarterback.
Speaker 4 (19:53):
I mean, but I'm saying though, and you gotta you
gotta give me this, Josh. You know they had a
cheating scandal at Michigan, right that's the time that they
finally broke through and beat Ohio State.
Speaker 2 (20:03):
Can't bringing that up, you know how many people.
Speaker 4 (20:04):
Still, what do you mean everybody everybody's.
Speaker 2 (20:12):
Cheating? It's she cheated. Thank you, Rob.
Speaker 5 (20:18):
I'm with you, Rob, because if everybody was doing it,
come they're the only ones.
Speaker 2 (20:21):
Who got caught. Thank you. We talked about this off.
Speaker 5 (20:24):
The air, and hopefully he's listening, cause we love Brady Quin.
Bradyquin is a great guy. But Brady had said before
in Collin Show, well, it's not a big deal because
everybody does all right, So Brady, are you gonna tell
me that down in Georgia that Kirby Smart is doing
the same thing? Yes, I know he'll never say that, Brady,
tell you can tell you Nick Saban was doing that
in Alabama?
Speaker 2 (20:39):
Yes or no? Right, that's what it's that commonplace that
you'd be like, yeah, I'll tell you right now. Not
everybody's cheating. No, everybody's not.
Speaker 5 (20:51):
If it was, then how come nobody else is saying yes,
I've seen so and so.
Speaker 1 (20:56):
Because that's how I'll tell you why, Because if I
started drawing too much to you, what you're gonna do
up up unveiling a bunch of stuff.
Speaker 2 (21:03):
That's why I one everybody's I don't want to unvail
because what I'm doing. That's that's rate.
Speaker 1 (21:11):
That's exactly if you think they literally show and it
was a ring of these people doing it. They literally
broke on that down.
Speaker 2 (21:17):
They got caught cheating and they did the same thing.
He was just the ring leader of it. They got caught.
O touchdown Ravens unless the flag, no flag, touchdown? How fast?
They don't need him.
Speaker 4 (21:28):
They don't need him, They don't need a minute there,
are you kidding?
Speaker 1 (21:31):
I knew That's why I said you better do more
nine minute place drives. Keep the eleven minute drives. Keep
them out of there, dude, that was so easy.
Speaker 2 (21:39):
Look at when they have the ball and everything. That's
why that stopped there. That might be the only thing.
That scoring drive was thirty two seconds. The drive before
that one wasn't.
Speaker 4 (21:51):
Rob g Yeah, I mean, it's just like they it's
too easy.
Speaker 2 (21:55):
That you ought to tell me.
Speaker 1 (21:57):
This is why I have them in the super Bowl
because what to do with this it's ridiculous.
Speaker 2 (22:02):
They don't even settle for a field go ahead a
touchdown easily.
Speaker 1 (22:05):

Speaker 2 (22:55):
How you doing? Man?
Speaker 12 (22:57):
Gentlemen? Victorious Monday roll in late night hour over here
on the East Coast, But pleasure to talk to you. Guys.
Speaker 2 (23:04):
Don't call it a Magic City Monday, but I.
Speaker 1 (23:08):
Man, when you got the kembe mcdumbo a loneso morning
and Ben Wallace blocking field goes out there.
Speaker 2 (23:14):
It definitely has How did that happen?
Speaker 12 (23:18):
Hey man, you're talking about two gigantic human beings just
absolutely getting it comes of push, and you know, I'm
not saying that they're revolutionizing anything as far as special
teams are concerned, but that's a pretty darn you know,
it's tough tandem to stop. So I don't know what's
going to happen moving on, but I would imagine that
team's you know, coming up here, especially Tampa Bay Bucks
(23:40):
this upcoming week, and will be planning for that because
that just seems like, man, that's unstoppable. They were just
getting some serious push and it was no fluke. You
saw they got to two and they almost got to
a third of the game.
Speaker 4 (23:53):
And the other thing too, here is I know, you know,
people will want to nitpick at Jalen Hurts or whatever,
last seventeen games seventeen and zero including playoffs, rob gez
and forty touchdowns and four interceptions, forty three touchdowns and
(24:13):
four interceptions and yesterday five turnovers period.
Speaker 2 (24:16):
Excuse me. And here's the other thing, Sean.
Speaker 4 (24:21):
This guy all he does is win and you needed
him to throw the ball in the second half you're
down big, right Any delivered with three touchdowns.
Speaker 12 (24:30):
Three touchdowns, no interceptions and moving the chains on third down,
converting on fourth down at the end zone, signing DeVonta
Smith just so dialed there and you know, living up
to the moment. That's what he does. He is the
ultimate showman. And for my money, it's not getting old.
I'm trying to convince the people here in Philadelphia to
enjoy these games. Yeah, regular season even more because right
(24:52):
now it's death taxes and Jalen Hurt's coming out on
top on an NFL Sunday. It is just an extremely
enjoyable time right now. But you know, just that comeback
yesterday was insane. I still can't believe they were able
to come back down nineteen and get the job done.
Speaker 2 (25:07):
Well, stay there for a minute.
Speaker 1 (25:08):
In that comeback, they had to start passing the ball more,
and it was an awakening epiphany. You got to see
how good. Of course aj Brown a reminder how good
he is. What do you make of his comments afterwards?
You got to say, hey, man, you know we're being conservative.
We can spread this thing out more. We can be
more aggressive.
Speaker 12 (25:23):
I love it. I love it, And you know what,
if I was a coach, I'd want to hear that too.
He just wants them to come out and be killers
and not play so passive and play not to lose.
At the beginning of the game, and it felt like, look,
you know, I'm not a guy that's that's watching the
eye in the sky, but I'll sit down and I'll
watch some of the guys that are banging tape and
seeing what they're talking about. And there were plays to
be made, but then there were a lot of errors
(25:45):
as far as we're out running in that first half,
really sloppy on the Eagle side. So look, AJ Brown
is an absolute stud and I would put the Eagles
one to two of Aj and DeVante up against anybody
in the NFL, and that that is including Jamar Chase
and t Higgins and sent As Cincinnati. These guys are
just incredible. They go up and go get it. You
saw AJ Brown just shoving fools off them, picking up
(26:07):
yards after the catch, running down the field. He is
an absolute monster. And Jalenes go to guy when he
needs to make plays. So he saw more of yesterday
and no Fluke this team is special, as special as
last year. We'll see what happens as they get going here.
It's only week three, but they sure have the look.
Speaker 4 (26:24):
Yeah, I'll to say, where are fans. I mean, obviously
they hope that they can repeat. It just doesn't happen
in the NFL. It's really hard to do it. I
know the Chiefs did it right and the Patriots and
you know what I mean. It's really it's a tough
tough league to win back to back. But I'm sure
(26:46):
people are excited, especially with the start here.
Speaker 12 (26:50):
Oh absolutely, Rob. You know you're talking about Jalen Hurt
who It's funny because you want to give a little
credit to the national media, the pundits that don't want
to give him the credit that he deserves and putting
that chip on his shoulder. You know, all off season long,
you heard about how special this team was and that's
the only reason why he was able to play the
quarterback position at the level he was. And you know,
(27:13):
you could put anybody in there. You know, like everything
that could have been said this offseason was said. So
the chip on his shoulder, he was evident came into
this season. He loves living up to those moments. He
even said he enjoys when everybody doubts him and tell
him that you can't do it, and then to be
able to have a team rise up and meet the
moment like they did yesterday. It's just incredible to watch
(27:34):
him play on Sunday as a true leader and a
guy that has had a different play caller for six
straight years, a different you can even go back to
his high school. I'm kidding you not. It's something like
at Alabama had a different play caller in the Oklahoma
different play caller. So like, it's just constant change with
(27:55):
this guy. But the one thing that doesn't change is
he wins.
Speaker 2 (27:58):
Hey.
Speaker 1 (27:58):
Well, by the way, Sean our guest midday hosts of
Fox Sports The Gambler in Philadelphia, let me go to
another guy who has had some new play called the
new head coach, and that is Caleb Williams and of
course Ben Johnson in Chicago. They look good. What are
you making of it? He looks good? Finding some thod
things or cowboys stink and everybody which one is it?
Speaker 12 (28:18):
Hey? Hey, Russell Wilson broke a record for the New
York Giants the week before. That's the New York too.
They've been playing football since the eighteen hundreds, and Russell
Wilson broke a record against the Cowboys defense the week before.
It tells you all you need to know. I like Caleb,
I thought when people were saying the generational talent, I
just thought that kind of was getting a little bit
of a stretch, you know, the new age.
Speaker 2 (28:38):
That we live in about everybody.
Speaker 4 (28:41):
It's just I know, Caleb, everybody can't be generational. I
just get so tired. Generations streaked out only four years
he sean. I do want to get here though, uh
baseball the last week of the season, and I do
want to ask about the Phillies because obviously they ran
away with the East and then I'm looking at you know,
(29:03):
most of the teams in.
Speaker 2 (29:04):
Baseball all flawed.
Speaker 4 (29:06):
I mean when I look at this, is this maybe
a year that the Phillies can win a championship?
Speaker 2 (29:11):
You know? To me, the Dodgers are good, really good,
but not great. I don't know.
Speaker 4 (29:16):
I think it's a wide open I don't think we
know who's going to be in the World Series at all.
Speaker 12 (29:21):
I totally agree with you, Robin. It's you know, it's
the toughest sport to win a championship. Man, and the
Phillies have had some good seasons or good teams and
then they've come up short. They went to the World
Series two years ago or three years ago, two years ago,
the NLCS, last year, the NLDS. This team is just
as good as either one of those teams. And I
feel like they're playing better baseball in the month of September.
(29:42):
A little bit of a tough stretch there in Arizona,
but they're playing for a lot right now. They lost
two or three over the weekend. But to your point, Rob,
it's crazy because you look at this Phillies team doing
it without Zach Wheeler, their ace. Trey Turner picks up
a bad hamstring for like the month of September. He
should be back coming up here soon. But they continue
to find ways to win games. And it's just about
(30:03):
getting that clutch hit if they can do it this
year in the postseason, because that's what plagued them last year.
The pitching will be there. Christopher Santez is a monster ranger.
Suare is really tough to go up against. You got
the lefties going there, great bullpen. I do like the
Philly Chances, and it's obvious that the oddsmakers do because
they're number one on the.
Speaker 2 (30:21):
Board right now. Did not even realize Yeah, yeah, I
got them out there.
Speaker 4 (30:25):
Ye that makes sense because I'm telling you the other
teams I don't know these issues. Especially to Dodgers. I
just can't see them getting it all together. They they've
been raggedy almost all year.
Speaker 1 (30:35):
Their starters are finally starting to come alive. That's the
the if you're looking for saving grace right now and
you've got a situation where you might be able to
use Kershaw and some other guys sparingly throughout. But all right, well,
shoot man, Shawn. We appreciate you, man, thank you for
spending some time with us.
Speaker 12 (30:49):
Hey man, City of Winners. You called me anytime you
need me, Baby.
Speaker 1 (30:52):
Hold on, hold on, hold on, See we were about
to Shohn, you were about to go.
Speaker 2 (30:55):
Then you said that off the Superman.
Speaker 1 (31:00):
But hold on now, don't get carried away the seventy
six ers. The process failed.
Speaker 12 (31:04):
Hey, joeven beads looking sin right now?
Speaker 2 (31:06):
Boys, Hey, you know what you know what?
Speaker 4 (31:08):
That ozempic is covered by the medical plan with are
you trying to say they passing it out.
Speaker 2 (31:14):
Is it being skinny Luca?
Speaker 12 (31:16):
Yes, Hey, I'm just hoping they get something for Paul George.
Could we get them anything. I don't know what we
could get them, but we need something and.
Speaker 4 (31:22):
Maybe maybe there's an ozempic where you lose your podcast,
and then maybe he can play better.
Speaker 1 (31:30):
No appreciate, no doubt, a thank you, His playoff p
is he and his Micah, I'm gonna just do whatever,
take mode.
Speaker 2 (31:39):
I don't want to just do it. I think he did.
I think he did take a break.
Speaker 1 (31:42):
If I'm not playing robbery, looked at it, didn't play
a podcast.
Speaker 2 (31:45):
He take a break. I think he did.
Speaker 1 (31:47):
Yeah, it's that time, bro y'all looked awful in Philadelphia.
Speaker 2 (31:51):
They look trash.
Speaker 4 (31:52):
It was just ridiculous, Like, come on, man, you're making
all that money and your team stinks and you're worried
about doing your podcast.
Speaker 2 (31:58):
I just don't I'm not I'm not again people doing stuff.
Speaker 5 (32:01):
But you always say there's a time and a place
for everything, one hundred percent not right now.
