touched the.
Speaker 2 (02:05):
Ball before, Like some people who look like they never
touched the ball, like you brought him up fifty?
Speaker 4 (02:12):
Are you a male? I'm just like like, seriously, all right, like.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
You a male? Is my new I need that drop? Alex?
Are you a male? That's crazy word?
Speaker 5 (02:22):
No, But but it's like he never touched a ball,
like you don't think it was like somebody paid him
right to throw in his opposite hand, like he was like, wait,
that was a terror you threw it two feet. I
don't care how tough you are, rapper or whatever. You
never play ball. You never picked up a ball and
threw it to somebody. Seriously, that's what it looked like.
(02:42):
They gave him a foreign object and he didn't know
what to do with it.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
Ew that's how he threw it, like he was gonna say. Ew.
Speaker 5 (02:49):
Like he just dropped right to like they've never touched
a ball before. I want to throw Is that the
drop that you got out of that? What about the
one like they've never touched a ball before?
Speaker 2 (03:01):
Yeah, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to call it for
like that. Now he's gonna use that against you, Okay, yeah,
first pick.
Speaker 1 (03:06):
You know what, there's the campaign the odd couple will
throw out a pitch at some point, whether it be
us together.
Speaker 2 (03:12):
Yeah, because I want to have make sure I have
a better throat than you. You know, I'm gonna come
on now, it's gonna be competitive.
Speaker 1 (03:19):
That's gonna be the best part because when I when
I outpitch you, I'm gonna say I've.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
Been covering this league since two thousand. I'm gonna give
you my numbers, and you know you know that.
Speaker 6 (03:27):
Fox Sports Radio who has throughout the first pitch you got.
It's a little interactive from a radio show in the country.
Speaker 2 (03:36):
It was a real game. It is a minor league game. Okay,
let me be more.
Speaker 5 (03:40):
Nobody saw it because all the listeners were asleep. You
just say, let me be more specific. Shout out to Bed.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
I want to do it at I'm the biggest Ben
mallifan you are, of course you show up to the
ugly sweater parties.
Speaker 4 (03:52):
I love and his wife Aaron to go with the Whites.
Speaker 2 (03:56):
We've completed it, Manzi. We have completed it.
Speaker 1 (03:58):
We have every wife and girlfriend and the Fox Sports
radio fans.
Speaker 4 (04:02):
I need baby oil.
Speaker 1 (04:04):
Look up fast. He didn't even it is the best part, Alex.
He didn't even complete White loves Ben. I love being
and his wife Aaron. He didn't say I love betting
because he's a nice guy.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
He does this and he shows At my sixtieth birthday
party in Las Vegas.
Speaker 5 (04:17):
We danced up a store. Oh now you're dancing with
people's wife dues. It was a party, right, rob g.
She had on a beautiful red know the code word
beautiful and threw the pin in the air. Rob Oh Yeah,
And Ben was there too. How many wives are gonna
call it beautiful?
Speaker 4 (04:35):
Ben was up and his wife Aaron. Look out fast, Alex.
He got to that Bet and his wife Aaron.
Speaker 3 (04:44):
There was no.
Speaker 4 (04:46):
I love and his wife Aaron. This is outrageous.
Speaker 5 (04:52):
Now I'm starting to wonder when are we gonna double
date with your wife?
Speaker 2 (04:57):
That's what?
Speaker 3 (04:57):
Wait?
Speaker 1 (04:57):
Well, first of all, get a date, okay, public public
dates that we can all see. Secondly, no, I'm not
going to double day with you because I'm like, you know,
Robin is Crey. I really thinks love where our show
is good, rop rob and you're gonna be staring up
a wife?
Speaker 2 (05:11):
All right?
Speaker 4 (05:13):
All right, Rob g we got I love I love
and his wife Aaron.
Speaker 2 (05:19):
No editing.
Speaker 5 (05:20):
By the way, there's something wrong on that tape.
Speaker 4 (05:23):
It's like a hiccup, I love and his wife eron.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
You did that on purpose?
Speaker 1 (05:28):
I am in legit tears right now that you have
mentioned every wife and girlfriend in our show. We haven't
even finished the show yet. Is there anyone else eligible? No,
We're good, Okay, Patrick, you know anyone we could talk
about it?
Speaker 2 (05:42):
All right? Go ahead, Rob guh.
Speaker 6 (05:43):
Yeah, big story that broke actually right before we were
going on air. We mentioned how last week Shadre Sanders
wrapped up Brown's mini camp by putting on an absolute show.
Finished that work first week camp forty one fifty three passing,
nine touchdowns, one interception, highest completion percentage, most touchdowns of
(06:08):
any of the four quarterbacks in the competition.
Speaker 2 (06:11):
But, as Rob.
Speaker 6 (06:12):
Parker pointed out, the only problem is he's also the
only quarterback in Browns minichamp who did not get any
reps with the ones thank you none none to early
Tuesday morning at twelve twenty four am. To be exact,
my guys should do it was sighted for driving one
hundred and one miles per hour in a black Dodge
(06:34):
pickup truck through the streets of Ohio, forty one miles
per hour above the speed limit. Wow, he's either got
to pay himself a fine or he's got to fight
this in core like the rest of us minions.
Speaker 5 (06:48):
All Right, I'll have a serious announcement that I had
to make, and this is serious, Okay.
Speaker 4 (06:54):
I love and his wife Aaron.
Speaker 2 (06:57):
Thank you for that confession, Rob, We appreciate it.
Speaker 5 (07:01):
If I'm the Browns and I'm seeing this going on,
I'm gonna have to pull the plug. On the Shadoor Sanders.
He should be cut immediately. Okay, I'm not serious, but
I'm serious and I want to say this. Backup quarterbacks,
fifth round picks should be seen, not sighted.
Speaker 4 (07:27):
It's the worst thing you can do that.
Speaker 2 (07:30):
Do you know what I mean?
Speaker 5 (07:31):
You know, obviously I'm playing about being cut, but that
is not what you want. Because once you become a
distraction and you start doing stuff, that's when it's easier
for people to say, do we really want this? This
is not came to Cleveland. People make mistakes. I'm not
saying he's got to be perfect, but this is not
what you want. This is just you could avoid this.
(07:52):
You don't need to be driving. You could have a driver.
I mean, you can talk about all kinds of stuff.
Don't make yourself a distraction when you're not in the
plans for an organization.
Speaker 4 (08:06):
And that that's all I'm saying. I think I think
it's just a bad look.
Speaker 1 (08:08):
I just think you're you don't have the built in
equity to do this. Lamar Jackson, not that he would
or should, but if he were to get you know, speeding,
we haven't heard much about Lamar get in trouble, and
if for one time he got you know, hey he
got caught going forty one miles over the speed limit.
The Ravens will say, hey, this is our guy's been
a model citizen. Something happened, you know, and we all right,
(08:31):
look at this, Lamar. That's why they put e racers
on pencils.
Speaker 2 (08:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (08:34):
And when you're fighting for your playing career life, you know,
you're trying to make a team.
Speaker 2 (08:40):
This is something you do, deed.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
And let me add to this, Rob, when you're coming
in already, then more the more so than your play,
was the noise and the thing surrounding you, right, because
anytime you and I have had an expert on and something,
they all say, Look, we know the tape said he
was a first second round pick. What is an expert
All the tape says he for time, first ay, first tay,
(09:02):
first round pick. Everyone agrees on that. The EFFETI the people,
that's what we hear. He's bad interviewing. He thought he
was too arrogant, he took it, he didn't took it lightly.
He didn't do his home, he didn't do his homework.
So that's some of the reporting that was out there.
My point is you can't have these type of issues
when that's what's coming in is the noise, it's the
(09:22):
outside stuff, because we already know, for the most part,
the football stuff's going to be there, and I think
he's going to ultimately end up being the most talented
player on the quarterback roster. Whatever they decide to do,
we'll have to wait and see. But you can't have
this now again, we've all gotten the speeding ticket. Is
it the worst thing ever? No, But you can't do
this when you don't have equity build with the team.
And that's a lesson everybody should know, whatever your job is,
(09:44):
if you're the new person and you're trying to climb
up this ladder and they can potentially see you as expendable,
you can't come in with any drama and win any issues,
especially when there was concern about outside drama and issues.
So I think he'll be fine. I don't think it's
the worst thing. I think talk to him. I think
they'll actually mentioned kind of what you said there. Hey man,
we got drivers, we got people just you know, work with.
(10:05):
If we need something, call us slow down. But the
last thing he needed was drama around his name when
he's trying to finally separate himself from that and make
it just about the football, right.
Speaker 2 (10:15):
Because it's not.
Speaker 4 (10:16):
Now you got another story and now it's got to
be in the news.
Speaker 5 (10:19):
What he's gonna do is he gonna fight it is
take it serious? You know what I mean exactly. It's
it's a storyline and headlines that are going to be
out there, and it just it just didn't need to happen.
I mean, and he didn't just go five miles over
the speed limit.
Speaker 1 (10:35):
This is this is Yeah. I don't know if I've
ever one hundred and one or was it one hundred
and one? Robb g you said that man that I had,
I had, you know, I had to challenge it too.
That's a whole Just go check on my challenge. I
wasn't getting up there like rob we talked about the
Raiders or receiver Henry Robs.
Speaker 2 (10:56):
Yeah, he just he's been doing some podcasts.
Speaker 5 (10:57):
He just he just like apologized to your family and
he was driving over one hundred miles an hour.
Speaker 4 (11:03):
And killed a young woman. Like like he's in jail
for like was it four or five years or something
like that.
Speaker 2 (11:10):
Like he's I think he got out early.
Speaker 4 (11:12):
No, he's he's.
Speaker 2 (11:13):
Trying to get out to speak to people.
Speaker 6 (11:17):
But he's still no defense obviously what Henry Rugs did
because he influence everything like that. But if you wanted to,
you know, play Devil's advocate Henry Ruggs. According to Nick Saban,
Josh Jacobs was a great guy, stand up guy, never
got in trouble with anybody. He made one horrific decision,
according to them, and it cost someone in their life.
So Shador Sanders to your point, great kid never did
(11:40):
anything wrong, because all it takes is one bad decision
to really ruin someone's life.
Speaker 2 (11:46):
That's the worst. Why you've heard me say this off
the air because we talked about things. That's one of
the worst things about life is that oftentimes the one
time you did something or that that thing he did
is can kind of derail all the good stuff all
the other times you did it the right way.
Speaker 1 (11:59):
That's that's one of the bad you know, kind of second.
But it is a part of life.
Speaker 4 (12:05):
It is, But that's people make mistakes.
Speaker 5 (12:08):
This difference getting behind the wheel when you're drunk driving
like undre one hundred miles an hour where somebody else
could be involved. This is where somebody else a passer by,
a stand by, you know what I mean, a pedestrian
or something another car can wind up getting hurt or
maimed or killed. That that's why those things are so dangerous,
(12:28):
and it catches your attention like.
Speaker 1 (12:31):
The person in the car with you sometimes like you're
get an accident, you're find the driver and.
Speaker 2 (12:35):
You're finding alive.
Speaker 4 (12:36):
Yeah, it happens a lot.
Speaker 2 (12:37):
Yeah, so I gain we were on the same page.
That not the worst thing in the world.
Speaker 1 (12:42):
He's whatever, I don't know, twenty one years old, whatever
it is, twenty one, twenty two. It's just you didn't
need this right now. You shouldn't be doing it period,
but you definitely didn't need it right now. Is you're
trying to fight for a rock spot on the team,
fight for you know, if I'm sure he feels he
wants to be a starter, these little things outside noise
doesn't help at all.
Speaker 5 (12:59):
And it's gonna be interesting just to see, you know,
what the hot of Browns handlers or what their response robbery.
Speaker 4 (13:08):
Did they even have a response?
Speaker 2 (13:10):
Uh? Yeah, So I don't have working on it, I'm sure.
Speaker 5 (13:16):
And should do or I mean, I'm not saying he
should be cut over a speeding ticket obviously not, But
how do you handle this?
Speaker 4 (13:23):
What do you do?
Speaker 5 (13:24):
If you're the Browns? Would this lead you to not
want him to be there?
Speaker 4 (13:29):
Do you know what I mean?
Speaker 2 (13:30):
Like?
Speaker 5 (13:30):
Could you tackle on? He's a fifth round pick? They
already have how many quarterbacks?
Speaker 2 (13:34):
Five?
Speaker 5 (13:35):
And most teams like, there's not enough room. You're gonna
have to let somebody go. And already you can look
at him as a distraction. And the season hasn't training
camp hadn't even started, and we're already talking about something
off the field. If you're the Browns, how do you
look at this? Would you be bothered by this? Is
it just not just a one time thing? And nobody
(13:56):
got hurt and we're glad and we'll move on and
move past it because of his record of you know,
we don't know of any other stuff. Or is this
a distraction that you don't want a round when you
have a fifth round pick eight seven, seven ninety nine
on Fox. You want to hear from you? It is
the odd couple On a worship Wednesday, Rob Parker, Kelvin
Washington right here on Fox Sports Radio, Stick and Stay America.

Rob Parker Kelvin Washington on a worship Wednesday, Thank you
for hanging out with your boys. Nancy Lieberman on the way,
former NBA player and coach Pro Basketball Hall of Famer.
Speaker 2 (15:43):
It was on not that long ago we had yeah,
oh yeah know, she's great man.
Speaker 1 (15:46):
Not to mention, I'm asking what it's like to put
a pie in your face, Wait to ask her that
it's hard hitting investigative questions.
Speaker 2 (15:53):
When I was eating whipped cream YEP.
Speaker 1 (15:55):
For over forty years, sire rek has been helping customers

ship fast and free back by free road hazard protection
with convenient insallation options like mobile tire installation, tire rack
dot com. It is the way tire buying should be.
All right, we're talking about shr door centers. If you
didn't hear earlier, got caught and sided for a ticket
for speeding one hundred and one I think it was
(16:16):
forty one miles over the speed limit, and we're asking,
if you're the Browns, how do you handle this? These
just slap on the wrist? Is it something bigger? Is
it an indictment on the player, or is it just
move on and stuff? Happens eight seven, seven ninety nine,
one fox, who we got? How about Chili? Tim in Atlanta?
What's happening, buddy?
Speaker 8 (16:34):
Yo? Yo, yo yo? What's up?
Speaker 4 (16:38):
The All Star Game is about a month away in Atlanta.
Speaker 1 (16:41):
Kim Wait, he was making a trip to scott You
listen to our boss send us.
Speaker 8 (16:46):
I'm looking forward to it, bro, I'm looking forward to it.
Speaker 4 (16:48):
Man, Yes, me too. I can't wait to get there.
Speaker 2 (16:51):
Bring me back some waffle house while you're down.
Speaker 4 (16:53):
Oh yeah, waffle house.
Speaker 8 (16:54):
What you know about the waffle house?
Speaker 2 (16:56):
Kevin well Man, I got family down there. Man, I
love it. If you can go to the waffle house
and not see a sack sack, it's probably a good night.
Speaker 1 (17:04):
Or if you go too late at night and you
all you gonna see is some fighting over the grill.
Speaker 4 (17:08):
You know that it's crazy.
Speaker 7 (17:10):
I don't go.
Speaker 8 (17:11):
I don't go to the waffle house because of that reason.
Speaker 9 (17:14):
Right here, He's right, He's right.
Speaker 2 (17:17):
It's always like he's a big fight or somebody's having
sent out at the and I'm having a great First
of all, Tiger was ain't there.
Speaker 1 (17:23):
I'm having a great time just eating my waffles. Man,
while they auto mad that's going on. What you mean,
I know that perimeter mall uh lenox, mall come.
Speaker 8 (17:31):
On, you know, I know okay, you know, you know
a little something.
Speaker 2 (17:34):
You know, hey man, Atlantic Station, come on.
Speaker 8 (17:38):
But we should do a couple of things, right. So
here's the thing. First of all, you know they had
this thing about he. You know, he grew up in
the spotlight. He's the coaches son. So he's been there,
he's done that. Then these are the kind of things
you shouldn't expect from someone like him to do things
like this. If he's been in that had that spotlight
on him for such a long time and he knows
(17:58):
everything that comes with it, all the stuff that everybody
was saying that made him such a great pick, then
these things you shouldn't expect from him. He should be
showing Dylan Gabriels something, you know, like some of the
other rookies. This is how you act, this is how
you behave as a professional, because that's what I always
heard about. Oh he's the consummly professional he does. So
that's number one and number two. Any other fifth round
(18:20):
draft pick right that would have gotten this. They have
been giving up their Keey card. Within the within the hour.
So you know, so my thing is this. You might
want to let it go, but this could be some
of the decisions and some of the arrogance and some
of these anonymous scouts to whoever was talking about, you know,
they didn't want to say, but maybe it's some of
these things that you know, and this. If I was
(18:41):
the Browns, I'd just keep oing because it could be something,
you know, a precursive to come out, you know. I
let him know, shitting down, like, you know, something like
this happens again. You know, hey, yeah, you might be
finding another place.
Speaker 4 (18:52):
It won't it won't be three strikes. I agree with that.
Speaker 2 (18:55):
To him, stop back like you ain't do one hundred
miles on the High twenty. Stop there and stop it
into one hundred and twenty with all the traffic they
are on the twenty.
Speaker 1 (19:02):
You're doing a circle. You got twenty is crazy? Now
you mess around and just keep going to circles.
Speaker 5 (19:07):
Andrew in Bakersfield, California, you're on the odd couple of
Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (19:12):
What's up, Andrew?
Speaker 10 (19:13):
What's up? Guys?
Speaker 2 (19:14):
How are you?
Speaker 8 (19:15):
Yeah?
Speaker 10 (19:16):
I'm all right. You guys are cracking me out. I
love Ben's wife, Barren.
Speaker 1 (19:20):
Ah, look, now you got people knowing that man's wife's name,
Rob alex Ad that drop, No it was that's an
Ai drop. That wasn't my that's a a. I can't
believe you said that. That's what I call it.
Speaker 10 (19:37):
But at least Shador wasn't driving the rolls Royce, and
I think he's you know, he's got to learn and
this is he got lucky. I think him. I think
they should just treat it, they should discipline him somehow,
But I think he can learn from it.
Speaker 4 (19:53):
Yeah, I agree with you. I think that.
Speaker 5 (19:55):
But you shut him down. Thanks for the call, Andrew.
You shit him down, and you say, I do we
can't have this.
Speaker 4 (20:03):
This is not not doable, not what we want. You
got you got.
Speaker 5 (20:08):
You gotta be a professional. You gotta know what you're
doing here. Have we have we got we go any
mother incidents or situations.
Speaker 4 (20:14):
We have a brush with law. That's not gonna work here.
Speaker 1 (20:17):
He's fighting for the roster for again the position of
potentially a starter, and that position alone. You're the face
of the franchise if he ends up being started this year,
next year, whatever, you know, And there's a certain way
you gotta kind of conduct all right, I love.
Speaker 7 (20:30):

great night.
Speaker 1 (20:47):
Yeah, couple, Rod Parker, Kelvin Washington on a worship Wednesday.
Speaker 2 (20:50):
Now we're joined by Hall of famer.
Speaker 1 (20:53):
That's right, Nancy Lieberman, former WNBA player and coach Pro
Basketball Hall of Famer, and somebody who I'm envious of.
You say, why Kelvin Wan are you? Because she got
to put a pie in Rob's face?
Speaker 2 (21:02):
Dagget Nancy. I want to lift to you.
Speaker 4 (21:04):
Nancy, Nancy, what's happening?
Speaker 9 (21:07):
How are my two bros? What's going on?
Speaker 3 (21:09):
Hey?
Speaker 4 (21:09):
Hey, tell me you threw out the first pitch at
the Rangers game. How was it?
Speaker 8 (21:14):
It was?
Speaker 9 (21:14):
It was good. It's like the fifth time I throw
it out at Yankee Stadium years.
Speaker 2 (21:18):
Did you did you? Big big flex?
Speaker 9 (21:21):
I did? And then I've done it like three times
here and it was so funny when I did it
the last time, maybe seven eight, I don't know. Whenever
Jeter and a Rod were playing. I'm walking to the
mountain and Jeter says to me, they don't bounce it.
And I went, hey, I'm not the president. I see
the pitch. And I came back and they're like, whe're sorry.
(21:42):
I go, I accept your apologies.
Speaker 2 (21:44):
He said, I'm from New York. Don't tell me I
know how to throw a ball.
Speaker 5 (21:48):
Unlike Nancy, We've seen other people we have like like that.
We took about fifty right yep, yeah, like like we looked.
Speaker 2 (21:56):
I was like stephen A's.
Speaker 5 (21:57):
I was like, no, stephen A's wasn't good either, but
I was like fifty. Look like he never touched a ball,
you know what I mean? Nancy, Yes, Van Wick very nice.
Speaker 2 (22:11):
Nancy.
Speaker 4 (22:11):
See we're both from Queens and Nancy.
Speaker 2 (22:13):
Yeah new Yorkers. You New Yorkers.
Speaker 1 (22:15):
Boy to know nobody nobody left their hometown like New Yorkers.
I'll tell you, Uh, Nancy jump in on us.
Speaker 2 (22:20):
Robin.
Speaker 1 (22:21):
I had a conversation and Nancy, he and I don't
probably ninety percent a time, don't.
Speaker 2 (22:25):
Agree on ninety five ninety five.
Speaker 1 (22:26):
See, we don't agree on the percentage, but we did
agree on this that when it comes to Caitlyn Clark.
She's so good, she's so spectacular that obviously all eyes
are on her. But anytime she gets filed hard and
there's a little scuffle or something, which we want. We
want passion, we want rivalries, we want a little basketball.
Why does the media, oh my gosh, it have to
(22:49):
make this if it's a big thing when Nancy she
doesn't even want to talk about it.
Speaker 2 (22:52):
She doesn't even want to make a big thing. She
wasn't talking about it.
Speaker 4 (22:55):
And they're hart foul Sometimes in basketball? Aren't we making
too big of a deal over.
Speaker 2 (22:59):
These some of them?
Speaker 6 (23:00):
No?
Speaker 9 (23:00):
Come on now, I mean she got knocked down pretty good.
I mean, you know what I is somebody if jac
Sheldon is being physical with her. And I know Jac
really well because she played in Dallas last year. I
love the way she played. She's you know, tenacity. She
was bothering her. Okay, I know she caught her in
the eye, but it wasn't on purpose. But you know,
(23:23):
when somebody just knocks you down, you don't have to
do that. You don't have to do it. And look,
let's be one hundred percent. She is a cash cow
for everybody in that league. It's like it's like in
eighty four when Jordan was there. He made everybody multi millionaires.
He changed the dynamics, the ratings, the salaries, the cap.
(23:46):
Tiger Woods did that in golf. He changed the purses,
he changed the attention. You know how many people coming
out to the course just you know, I'm not saying
you got to have kit gloves on her and you
can follow hard. But you know, I thought that play
was kind of chippy. I mean, but it happens. You
move on. Look, you know we had a fight in
(24:09):
the Big Three the other day with Lance.
Speaker 4 (24:12):
You're going about that and Roight Howard.
Speaker 9 (24:15):
Yeah, no, no suspensions. Well you know Q came out
with you know his statement, that's not what we you
know want. The games are national TV on CBS. The
ratings are skyrocketing. Uh, this is the most talent we've
ever had in the Big Three. And look one guy
(24:36):
bluing Lebron James Ear. Okay, Like really, I mean that's
that's that's weird. Yes, And you know that's part of
Lance's persona. He's a hell of a player. He's probably
still mad that easily beat him for the three hundred
thousand dollars in the one on one game two weeks ago.
Speaker 1 (24:55):
I bet yeah, the Big the Big Three, as you mentioned,
we had we actually had Cube on maybe a couple
of weeks ago.
Speaker 11 (25:03):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (25:03):
He was, you know, kind of gearing up for the
for the new season.
Speaker 6 (25:05):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (25:06):
Why do you think is so is drawing more and
more former players and and some some talented.
Speaker 2 (25:10):
I mean Dwight Howard probably how hall of fame.
Speaker 1 (25:13):
Yeah, drawing Hall of famers and and Joe Johnson is
you know, hall of fame talent. Obvious maybe won't get in,
but hall of fame talent. Why are guys into this?
Speaker 9 (25:21):
Well, think about it. If you're Dwight Howard, if you're
DeMarcus Cousins, if you're Jeff Teague, if you know some
of if Paul Mills at Greg Monroe, you know some
of you. You want to take that last bite of
the NBA apple if you can, and then if you
can't do that, maybe you go to Europe like DeMarcus
has done and some other players have done. Now a
(25:43):
stepping of soft landing is to go to the Big Three.
You're still good, you're still talented. It's not Grandpa's old
timer's day Yankee Stadium. You're not sixty years old, right,
And it's a very competitive league with a lot of
money on the line.
Speaker 8 (25:58):
You get to.
Speaker 9 (25:59):
Play sold out buildings like we did in Chicago the
other day. The ratings are astronomical and it's competitive. I mean,
you know, you know me, I was so competitive I
had to hit somebody in the face of suppie you
know that. Do you remember who that was.
Speaker 4 (26:20):
I was trying to figure it out.
Speaker 5 (26:21):
I couldn't because the strawberries and whipped cream were all
over my face.
Speaker 4 (26:25):
Did you see that on Twitter? I just put that
on Twitter last week.
Speaker 2 (26:30):
That was funny.
Speaker 9 (26:30):
I know, I tweeted it forty times.
Speaker 1 (26:34):
I told you, Nancy, I'm jealous. I'm jealous. Tell me,
tell me the tactics. Tell me how to do it, Nancy.
Let me let me ask you this. The NBA and
the finals, and we know these are really two good
teams and the way they play basketball or whatever. But
there's no denying that. You know, the casual fan just
didn't buy into it. We know what the ratings are.
Speaker 8 (26:57):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (26:57):
I don't think there's anything the NBA can do.
Speaker 5 (27:00):
It's hard to attract casual fans, who are usually looking
for star power. Am I right, I don't think the
NBA could have done anything. It is what it is.
Speaker 9 (27:09):
It's one of the best finals we've ever seen. Two
young teams. If you are intimately involved in sports in
the NBA, you know who SGA is, you know who
Halli Burton is, and you know maybe coach Carlisle. But
they are outstanding. Both teams. They're going to be around,
you know, for the next five, six, seven years because
(27:31):
they're so young. But you're right, it's not Steph Curry, right,
it's not the Boston Celtics, it's not Lebron And you know,
people fall in love with star power and their star
power within these two teams. It's just not to the
common you know, man and woman.
Speaker 1 (27:51):
Yeah, it's a difference Natca as you know, between star
and superstar.
Speaker 2 (27:55):
And I think that's you know, we're watching right now.
Speaker 1 (27:57):
And they con eventually become maybe SGA gets a couple
of rings or something, he becomes that.
Speaker 2 (28:02):
But what do you what do you make of.
Speaker 1 (28:04):
I'm just going to ask this this actual game and
really the Thunder team that's so prolific defensively and offensively,
how good have they been?
Speaker 9 (28:12):
Well, first, let me say this, I think I have
a little bit more insight into Oklahoma City. I have
done their TV for over twelve years, and this was
the first season I took off.
Speaker 4 (28:25):
Wow, yeah, you take off right?
Speaker 9 (28:28):
Yeah? Well I asked him in September, right, that was
a bad move, And you know, I just said, I
would like to have just one season off like this
to be normal and sit in my house and relax.
Speaker 10 (28:39):
Right.
Speaker 9 (28:40):
And so I know coach Dagnall, I know Shae and
Dort and all those guys. They have played so well
so far. The system is undeniable. Sam Presty is you know,
he was built for this since he was in high
school and he was figuring out rosters and trades and
getting draft picks. They are incredible in what they've done.
(29:04):
They're deep, they're young, and look what Crusoe. How come
nobody else got Alex Caruso and he didn't play that
much during the season, and then he comes out and
he's just been, you know, all everything in the playoffs defensively, offensively,
a couple of twenty point games. But you know, so
(29:25):
I think it's the defense of Oklahoma City. I think
their defense is better than the Pacers defense, and that's
going to be the key.
Speaker 5 (29:33):
One last thing, Nancy, and we got about a minute
or so the sale of the Lakers for ten billion dollars,
and then we also talked about some other owners and people.
You know, Jordan got out, Mark Cuban got out, the
Timberworld was sell sold the Celtics. What do you make
anything of that? Because it is this is some left
(29:56):
before the big TV contract. People are leaving after they
just got this big TV com What do you make
of so many owners, you know, opting out of the NBA.
Speaker 9 (30:07):
Look at the owners who have opted out, like mister Miller,
like we said in Minnesota, and Michael Michael bought the team,
and you can go back in fact check me, but
I'm going to say maybe three hundred million dr buss probably.
Speaker 2 (30:25):
Sixty seven million, sixty seven million.
Speaker 9 (30:30):
If you're looking long term, you've done this.
Speaker 11 (30:34):
You've got more.
Speaker 9 (30:35):
You know, championships than anybody else. Mark Cuban has a championship.
Speaker 2 (30:41):
He paid what.
Speaker 9 (30:42):
Three fifty radi whatever Mark paid. And now you show,
you know, you keep twenty seven percent of the team
and you get you know, three point two billion dollars.
Now you can do other things at this stage of
your life and I don't see it as a bad thing.
(31:02):
They still have ownership, Genie is still the governor. She'll be,
you know, running the team in all things that matter.
But you know, for the Laker, excuse me, for the
Dodgers to buy them, and you can see they're accumulating
sports franchises.
Speaker 2 (31:18):
Oh yeah, yeah, they're not playing around.
Speaker 9 (31:21):
No. But the cool thing about his ego is Genie,
run your team. You've done a great job is run
your team. And so I admire that. But ten billion dollars.
What franchise has ever been sold for ten billion dollars?
Speaker 8 (31:37):
Is the record?
Speaker 9 (31:38):
As far as I know.
Speaker 4 (31:39):
Crazy, I can hear Genie now do at our job?
Speaker 5 (31:43):
One, two, three, four, she's counting paper clips?
Speaker 2 (31:48):
Then stop.
Speaker 9 (31:51):
She's a great gal. Look, I've known Genie since I
was twenty twenty two years old. He's unbelievable. He's proven
her metal. Not a lot of women in those positions.
And you know, I'm just I'm happy for her and
I'm happy for the bus Stanley.
Speaker 2 (32:09):
Listen, ten billion dollars.
Speaker 1 (32:10):
Then whether I got a job or not, I'm running
the team or not, ten billion is is that's I'm
brazing about the money.
Speaker 4 (32:16):
Nancy, You're the best.
Speaker 2 (32:17):
We appreciate you as all.
Speaker 9 (32:19):
I love you, Love you, Nancy, and a strawberry pie.
Speaker 2 (32:23):
There you go, that's on his face. My favorite Nancy.
Thank you, Thank you Nancy.
Speaker 1 (32:27):
All right, we appreciated Nancy Lieberman on EXK giver a
follow folks.

How time flies when you're having a good time. Shout
out to Jenny Jackson. All right, it is time now
for the last call.
Speaker 2 (33:27):
This is the last call.
Speaker 3 (33:35):
It's last call, last call, time on the odd couple.
Speaker 2 (33:41):
Last go who we got?
Speaker 3 (33:44):
All right?
Speaker 5 (33:45):
Nick in Denver, you're on the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio and you are the last call.
Speaker 4 (33:51):
That's my Marey Povich.
Speaker 2 (33:53):
What's up?
Speaker 3 (33:54):
Nick?
Speaker 8 (33:55):
Hey?
Speaker 11 (33:56):
How you guys doing it that great?
Speaker 4 (33:58):
How are you buddy?
Speaker 11 (34:00):
Great man? It's a beautiful night in Denver. Generally how
it goes the summers here great? But uh, look, I
didn't realize that was the last call, so I'll make
a quick to you guys in the home. But uh,
I just wanted to give a shout out to my
Denver Nuggets for being the only team potentially to take
this wonderful basketball team out of Oklahoma City to seven games,
(34:21):
and mind you, with maybe only four. Really it's like
non injured players in the starting lineup to do it
and no bench. We had no bench. So I just
wanted to do that real quick.
Speaker 5 (34:34):
There's nothing wrong with that. They did put in a
good fight to a game seven. So I understand that
if you're in Denver, you still have your championship from
a couple of years ago.
Speaker 4 (34:43):
It wasn't ten years ago.
Speaker 2 (34:44):
It was great. It was a great run by.
Speaker 1 (34:46):
Yeah, Denver's gonna be an interesting team, Nick in the
next year or two. Just meaning what has Rob discussed
over the last few weeks is that a one off?
Did they just you know, they needed to retool and
they're right back in this thing like Denver's gonna be
interesting team.
Speaker 4 (34:59):
You made a change the coach, and maybe that works out,
you know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (35:02):
Because you have the best player or you know whatever,
you want to slot the one or two best player
in the world, and he's still relatively young.
Speaker 2 (35:09):
So do you make some calls Michael Porter Junior?
Speaker 7 (35:12):
Is it?
Speaker 2 (35:13):
Is it? Jamal Murray gone, like, well, it's gonna be interesting.
Speaker 1 (35:16):
Do they stockpile a bunch of nice athletic bench players,
because I think that's what they're missing, and I think
that's what a lot of teams are having right now.
You look at Minnesota, how they've been able to be
make a couple of deep playoff run now is because
they got some long defenders, young guys athletic, and that's
you know, and obviously a star of Anthony Edwards.
Speaker 2 (35:34):
And then you look at the.
Speaker 1 (35:35):
Thunder bunch of six foot five to six seven athletic
is head guys.
Speaker 2 (35:41):
A bunch of guys come off the bench, you know
the role.
Speaker 1 (35:43):
You look at the Celtics, you look at the Pacers,
you look at the Magic, look at the Pistons. So
it's kind of interesting to see like the teams are
starting to just stockpile a bunch of guys. They might
not be the most talented individually. I might be superstars,
but that's kind of been the model now no more.
Just like I got eighty and I got le Bron
and I'm good to go. I got you know, this
(36:05):
guy and this guy. All right, that should be enough.
He's like, you better be eight nine, ten deep to
have a real shot. So I want to see how
Denver decides to bounce back.
Speaker 4 (36:14):
Yeah, I think they'll bounce back.
Speaker 5 (36:16):
They understand they need to put some more pieces around again,
they took the thunder the game seven. They can't feel
like they're totally out of it or have no shot
like they got swept, And you gotta say, we might
need to retool year. This is not going to be
able to get to where we want to go. But
that was not the case. So it'll be interesting going forward.
Speaker 1 (36:34):
Yeah, we got Game six tomorrow. You and I were
just talking about it. I'm just I need to mix up.
I need, you know, the every other day for one
or two games, then the three days off or whatever,
like it's too much where you can't keep trying.
Speaker 7 (36:49):
It.
Speaker 1 (36:49):
Used to know we're playing Friday, We're playing Sunday. You know,
playing Sunday. We're gonna play Tuesday, and then you can
throw a three three day in there. But I just
feel like, man, the finals just so spread out. You
kind of want that action and then you, oh, man,
gods a great game. How they gonna bounce back of
the storylines? You want to stay connected to us. So
I would love to see that, But that's just me
because the game gets confusing.
Speaker 2 (37:08):
You can't keep up anymore. You're like, allright, wait, who
I really.
Speaker 4 (37:11):
Didn't know another game with tonight. I'm not even kidding you.
Speaker 2 (37:14):
You also did think tonight was Thursday.
Speaker 4 (37:17):
Yeah, the whole week has been messed up for me.
Speaker 1 (37:20):
I've been you can't tell me, And I think it's
because I didn't do TV on Monday.
Speaker 2 (37:25):
There's no way.
Speaker 1 (37:26):
I absolutely thought yesterday, Like my first day was Tuesday.
Speaker 2 (37:29):
Monday.
Speaker 1 (37:29):
I thought Monday was Tuesday because I just felt like
I had it off. So I've been thrown off all
week as well. But yeah, game six tomorrow i'm thinking
of Personally, I'm thinking the Thunder close it out. But uh,
and that's what throw without Halle With without, I think
they close it out tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (37:46):
I'm keeping hope alive, Keep hope alive. I'm Jesse jack Jackson.
He's still with us, right, Jesse Jackson, He's still with us. Yeah,
just making sure he's getting you know, we.
Speaker 1 (37:57):
Get to that point in life where I may I
double up, but make sure people still with us.
Speaker 2 (38:01):
Starting to lose people so much.
Speaker 1 (38:02):
But yeah, game six, I'm looking forward to that when
I want to see the Thunder hat what it takes
to close it out get their first championship. Sam Pressey
can sit there and say, finally did it had a couple,
you know, three four different iteration of the Thunder had
the KD Westbrook hardened version. I had the Kevin Martin
KD version, and you had the Paul George Westbrook version,
Chris Paul version. And now this version finally got him
(38:23):
to the finals and on the brink of winning one.
Speaker 2 (38:25):
So we'll see how it all pans out, looking forward
to Yes, I'm a TV theme so on Thursdays. Oh
yeah that as well.
Speaker 4 (38:31):
The Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon is coming up next.
Speaker 7 (38:34):
I never miss your radio show.
Speaker 3 (38:36):
I never hear it, so I never miss it.
Speaker 2 (38:38):
Did you hear that
