Speaker 1 (00:38):
Yes, it is the Odd Couple, our number three on
a trash Talking Tuesday.

Speaker 3 (00:42):
Rob Parker, Kelvin Washington.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
Achy knees, step back joints, not cooperating this life business.
Some days your body's just like no way, no how
how about that?

Speaker 3 (00:55):
That's very true. And on those days, luckily there's a leave,
just one pill.

don't forget tomorrow I'll be on MLB Network. They had
a game, okay, so it'll be like, what time is it?
Four fifteen Easter? The game first is at one. I'll
be on after that.

Speaker 3 (01:45):
Who are you shooting at?

Speaker 4 (01:48):
What?

Speaker 3 (01:48):
You know? Are shooting at somebody? Well, I gotta see
what happens tomorrow. We'll see.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
But yeah, I'm gonna be on MLB Now with Brian Kenny.
I was in studio last week, which was a lot
of fun.

Speaker 5 (01:57):
So yeah, sure Tani is the fifth best player in MLB.

Speaker 3 (02:01):
That to say all the time, you know what I mean?

Speaker 1 (02:05):
And then they go look over them and go okay, okay,
should he really be on here? All right, hey we
got something that rob g can you set the table
or at least help us lay out the store?

Speaker 3 (02:19):
He said he moved past I thought I moved. I'm sorry, can.

Speaker 6 (02:22):
You old habits diehog? I mean, the racism is just
a brain And over all these years.

Speaker 5 (02:29):
I told you we spoke to be brown and black
and brown united. Right now here you go.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
Ro faced up. But anyways, I forgot my black glove
Uh so, guys, you already know this.

Speaker 6 (02:41):
Kaylin Clark is a captain for the twenty twenty five
w NBA All Star Game, which will take place in
Indianapolis next month, largely because she was far and away
the leading vote getter by the fans. In fact, she
got so many votes it was the most by any
player in w NBA All Star Game history.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
Right, here's the problem.

Speaker 6 (03:01):
On Monday night, it was revealed the entire ballot, not
just the fan vote, not just the media vote, but
also the player vote. And while Kaylyn Clark was far
and away first amongst fans, and while Kaylyn Clark was
third amongst media, she finished a distant ninth when voted

(03:24):
by her peers. In fact, it was such a jarring
discovery that of the eight players listed in front of her,
the number five and number eight players voted on by
her peers didn't even crack the top ten in cumulative score. So, guys,
I guess, as they say, the jealousy still runs deep

(03:48):
for Kaylyn Clark in the WNBA.

Speaker 1 (03:50):
And I'm going to say this. I know people going
to paint it as women caddy, all that other stuff.
I'm here to push back on that and I'm here
to deliver a public announcement for sports fans out there
and in America. This is not shocking to me whatsoever.

(04:19):
This is not a Caitlin Clark issue.

Speaker 3 (04:24):
It's not.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
This is an athlete issue. And when I talk about this,
I'm dead serious. Stop listening to player podcast. Stop it
because they won't and they can't be honest about players

(04:53):
who are playing currently because they have skin in the game.
They can't give you an honest take. I'm not so
prized by this at all. Zero are You're still listening
to Gilbert Arenas's podcast? Does he have a proverbial gun
to your head? Just turn the station to unsubscribe. Stop

(05:16):
it already. What's wrong with you? I'm being out with you.
It's a public service announcement. And the reason I say this,
and Kevin, I'm dead serious. When the NBA in twenty
seventeen gave players a chance to vote for the NBA

(05:39):
All Star Team, one hundred and twenty eight of the
three hundred and twenty four players did not vote for
Lebron James.

Speaker 3 (05:51):
One hundred and.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
Fifty four players out of three twenty four did not
vote for Kevin Durant. They have skin in the game.
They're never gonna be honest. They're never going to tell
you the real Oh you know what I mean, you
to tell me? In an exhibition game, people couldn't look

(06:15):
at lebron Jay. How in the world did you not
vote for him? It's an exhibition it's an all star game,
Caitlin Clark, right, it's an all star game. Really, they're
not honest with you. They're in bed with too many people.
Oh that so and so's my girl, or that's my boy.

(06:36):
I don't want to do that. Or are we in
the same fraternity, or we had the same age. You
know we went to the same college. They can't give
you a straight answer. That's why they hate Charles Barkley.
He can give you a straight answer. Most can listen
to the podcast. They're telling you these crazy things. Shaq's
telling you that steps you know that on one end,

(06:59):
it should be in a conversation, and then on another hand,
Shaq's telling you that Kareem abdul Jaba is not in
his top five or top ten.

Speaker 3 (07:06):
I don't think he's in his top ten. He not
even your.

Speaker 1 (07:09):
Top ten South who he told people let that he
gotta be in that conversation. Now, of course, there was
a pole recently in baseball. Most exciting players in baseball,
Aaron Judgment is a distant six or distant third, Like, really,
I thought chicks loved.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
The belonged ball him? Am I wrong?

Speaker 1 (07:31):
He is one of the most Exactly when he comes
up to the bat, you going to go to the
bathroom or go get a drink.

Speaker 3 (07:36):
No, you're not.

Speaker 1 (07:37):
We sitting here every night the game is on. Tell
me we don't look over one of us for sure. Absolutely.
My point on this is this is not just about Caitlin.

Speaker 3 (07:48):
It's not.

Speaker 1 (07:51):
This is where you have when you have other players
trying to give you a now on other players. They
always rip the media that we all you guys are haters. No, no,
we're haters. Kelvin, you can't tell me when you heard

(08:11):
that poll that you didn't think about this, because we've
seen this over and over. They can't be honest with
each other and they can't give a true evaluation. There's
too many issues and too much other stuff that's involved.
So it's not a female caddy jealous thing. This is
about players having skin in the game and they can't

(08:33):
give you an honest take.

Speaker 3 (08:35):
That's why this keeps happening. So you just brought up something.

Speaker 5 (08:38):
I think it was human nature for people to want
to go to I think the minute this comes out,
people are gonna go, oh man, here they go again.
This is why they can't have nothing. This is why
women can't come together. This why women can't stand united,
and stuff like this. The women and women the right. Yeah,
and you're absolutely right. This happens all the time in
sports where when you ask them a question about a

(08:59):
certain player, multiple things happen. Number One, if I'm sitting
next to you and we both got this hurt, I
got to you my dog.

Speaker 3 (09:05):
You know what I'm saying. I gotta put write my
boy's name in.

Speaker 5 (09:08):
I gotta support from the team player, our star player
on this team. I gotta do that. That's my guy.
He's part of the Banana boat crew. So I gotta
put the Banana boat crew on. And it happens all
the time. It also happens when guys are beef. Remember
when Paul Pierce didn't talk about he couldn't even and
and Lebron's not even in the top ten, and I mean, like,
like God, can you look at Paul Pierce seriously, And
Paul Pierce is like, dude, come on, you used to

(09:30):
literally say how excited you were to go battle this
guy because i'mna show him everybody. You know, he was
the guy and I want to go at him in
these big playoffs. Why because he was the guy and
you wanted to say, Hey, I'm the guy too.

Speaker 3 (09:41):
Duh.

Speaker 5 (09:42):
So this happens all the time, and I'm so glad
we're talking about this because I think it has been
bred in our minds, has been feduous that you're supposed
to be to go, oh, that's just how women are.
This is just the worst thing than everybody. Everybody's gonna say,
it's women on women. This is the issue. And no,
maybe in some other instances, maybe some other out says
that they don't have their own thing.

Speaker 1 (10:01):
But but the numbers we gave one hundred and twenty
eight did not vote for Lebron, one fifty four for
k deb This is twenty seventeen.

Speaker 3 (10:10):
This isn't last year, This is when they were in
their prime.

Speaker 5 (10:12):
Would be asinine and even do it last year, but
you know what I'm saying, even worse twenty but you
know what I'm saying, twenty seventeen, so and I think
that also the challenge too. I was talking about this earlier.
I do believe the WUWNBA is starved for attention, right,
meaning there's some great players who have never got there

(10:35):
just due just because we just weren't covering the league
like this up until the last couple of years. So
I do think there is an inherent like, well, if
we're getting his eyeballs, now, why she get you know,
why does she get the moment or why not? Or
I would even argue this some ain't hate. Some of
it is I want to give her the praise because
she's Skyler Diggins for a mint, for example, right in

(10:58):
one of the faces of the leagues, for you know,
ten years now whatever it is, like she she's still
really good. But like if I'm voting, I want to
give her her props because it's like, hey, the eyeballs
are runners. Now, let me highlight her, but almost in
a supportive way. Let me highlight but Sobrina you Escu,
let me highlight. But there's all so Si Mitchell, you know,
And I think there's a bit of that, like, oh,

(11:19):
everybody's watching now.

Speaker 3 (11:20):
I'm a big up this person for her to be ninth.
It's just just it goes with what I'm bringing up.
And I'm that serious when I talk about this.

Speaker 1 (11:29):
You know this is this is one of my things
because we're always as I as, I always give you
the evidence and the stuff that I'm proud of. Oh,
writers are haters and they hate this. And Barry Bond, No, no, no,
Barry Bond's wasn't a good guy to the writers. You
even know Barry Bond's treatment of the media wasn't good.

(11:50):
Guess what he won seven m vps. You can't tell
me that that we aren't right. Easily we could have
been like what, oh, he don't talk for us, Okay, MVP,
let's vote for somebody. No, he was the best player
in baseball. He has to win the MVP. Where's your credibility?
And as former players, this is the issue. This is

(12:11):
the issue. You even hear like old time guys like
Terry Bradshaw talk about people and players and and who
is a shady McCoy called Dak Prescott as on television.
What I'm supposed to go back to you to get
a fair assessment. You might not lie, dude, I'm not
a big Dak Prescott, I could go and win you

(12:32):
a super Bowl, but to call a guy as really.

Speaker 5 (12:36):
And you brought up Charles. There are a handful of
people who are good at separating that. And now you
know what I'll give to for the most part, He's
had a couple of moments for here and there.

Speaker 3 (12:44):
But your boy, you know, your good friend Steven A.

Speaker 5 (12:46):
Were I might not personally rock with Kevin Durant, but
he'll acknowledge Kevin Durants. I might not personally him and
Lebron got into it, but if you ask him who's
the best player, and he's gonna say Jordan and Lebron,
Like he's not gonna say Lebron is fifteen, and I'll
give them credit.

Speaker 3 (13:00):
But that's what I'm.

Speaker 1 (13:01):
Saying, like your own credibility is there for the writers
or for the broadcasters seriously, and for Paul Pierce and
these guys with a straight face to say Lebron's not
in their top ten. Dude, I don't know, like you
played out there, you know what it takes. Come on, dude,
and go bout that.

Speaker 5 (13:18):
To go back to this, rob g my biggest issue,
because I will grant you this as we get ready
to break here.

Speaker 3 (13:24):
I'll grant you this.

Speaker 5 (13:25):
She's having a bad, a down year for her, because
you thought you would get a year where she went
better than last year. She's down compared to rookie year.
She's been injured just about half the season. So I'll
give you that. But for her to be ninth, that's
what I just said you. If it were four or fifth,
I actually could be okay with I get it, because
other people are having better years. She's not having a
great year. She's shooting the ball terribly from three, like
twenty nine percent. She had missed like what was it,

(13:47):
twenty eight and a yeah again on the road.

Speaker 3 (13:50):
I knows.

Speaker 1 (13:50):
I didn't see any of those misses, but I heard
about it. I'm just saying one for twenty eight.

Speaker 5 (13:54):
So my point is, I'm not mad if she in
the best guard, I'm it's a fact she's not. And
it's a fact that if you want to say she
second or fourth, ninth, ninth was kind of crazy, all right,
And that's where my like, all right, this that went far.
If she's having it down your hands, she would admit
that she knows it, But ninth is wild.

Speaker 3 (14:11):
All right?

Speaker 1 (14:11):
Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven, seven, nine, nine.

Speaker 3 (14:15):
Six sixty three sixty nine, Real simple.

Speaker 1 (14:20):
Following this Caitlin Clark fiasco, is it time to do
away with athlete lad polls? An athlete led podcast. We'll
continue that conversation next with you. It is the Odd Couple, right,
you trash talking Tuesday?

Speaker 7 (14:37):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (14:38):
And I was trashing athletes podcasts. That's a fog. Would
you say? Shoot Old?

Speaker 5 (14:43):
I'm saying he gonna be. I'm just saying Gil, he's
gunning for me. You might now and I might catch
it straight.

with convenient installation options like mobile tire installation tirereck dot Com.

Speaker 3 (16:42):
Yes, it is the way tyre bind should be.

Speaker 5 (16:44):
All right, We're just talking about the whole all star voting,
not total.

Speaker 3 (16:50):
It was guards.

Speaker 5 (16:51):
If it was total in the league, any and everybody,
she was nine, that's still a star a stretch, but
all right, fine because she's having off season, has a
play half the season? Okay, fine, it's st ninth in Guards.
Caitlin Cork all right, seven seven ninety nine, O Fox will.

Speaker 3 (17:06):
Be all right.

Speaker 1 (17:07):
Uh, Gilbert Arenas, you're oh wait, ma, let me put
my glass.

Speaker 3 (17:10):
So I'm sorry, that's wrong.

Speaker 1 (17:12):
Alex in Phoenix, Sure you're gonna be What is it,
Arena Fox Sports Radio?

Speaker 3 (17:18):
What's up? Alex? How are you no?

Speaker 1 (17:20):
Actually watch Gilbert Arenas play a grand high school throwing
up total baller in high school?

Speaker 7 (17:25):
So if this is for the fans, right, why do
players vote, especially with a w NBA when you're trying
to grow the game it should be all fans. Now.
The only issue with that is w NBA players get
a bonus if they make an All Star Games. But
I would take that out of their contract and.

Speaker 1 (17:41):
Make it all fans.

Speaker 7 (17:42):
They did it with baseball for a while when they
needed a boost. Why not do with WS It.

Speaker 3 (17:46):
Should just you know what, Alex.

Speaker 1 (17:47):
Any other thing too is like the players have skin
in the game, and that's why you can't have them
do it.

Speaker 3 (17:53):
And they're not gonna be legit. It's the fans game.

Speaker 1 (17:55):
Let them like, like, if you want to see a
great player, like maybe not having the greatest year, you know,
there's us talk about who's going to be the short
stop in the National League.

Speaker 3 (18:04):
Mookie Betts is a fan favorite. He might win the
fan vote.

Speaker 1 (18:07):
I don't know where he is in the ranking, but
he might win the fan vote because they still don't
care that he's not having it and you know what
I mean, but but they still want to see him.

Speaker 3 (18:17):
And that's my point is the fans game.

Speaker 5 (18:19):
And to answer his question, I forgot I forgot the name.
But it's also a weighted vote. So you have the players,
you have the fans, and you have the writers and
it's all weighted, like.

Speaker 3 (18:30):
I don't know it.

Speaker 5 (18:34):
It's not just fans, not just playing media. Media fans
play and it's all weighted. So first place, when the
fans means this and this percentage, so that's how they
do it, and they end up with a point percentage.

Speaker 1 (18:43):
And that's how you get who's in Andrew in Bakersfield, California.
You're on the odd couple of Fox portraitio. What's up Andrew?

Speaker 7 (18:49):
What's up? Guys?

Speaker 10 (18:51):
Uh So, Rob, I think what you're saying has an
air of truth because why does Tom Brady suck as
an announcer? Because he's a partial owner her and he
has to hold his tongue, you see.

Speaker 3 (19:03):
But I think that's a good point.

Speaker 1 (19:05):
I mean that there is I'm already gonna rip the
Raiders or for or or other teams.

Speaker 3 (19:09):
You know what I mean exactly right?

Speaker 10 (19:12):
Pick one? I would say for Brady, But for Kaitland Clark.
I think it may be a Caitlin Clark issue. Okay,
you got Lebron and Durant. They think Durant was a cupcake.
They don't like Lebron and that might play into their vote.
But with Kaitlan Clark, like when she didn't make the
Olympic team. Come on, guys, you know the w n

(19:34):
b A ladies.

Speaker 1 (19:35):
The Olympic team, they had a team. I'm not That
didn't bother me as much as this. This is an
exhibition game that the fans. They know what the fans
want to see. Come on, what are we talking about?

Speaker 2 (19:48):
That?

Speaker 1 (19:49):
That's just that that the Olympic team. There's already a
team in plays. He's got a couple of new spots
and people have played to get there but wasn't. But
but the uh, that's why I'm mad at the Lebron thing.
And you know, people think I'm the biggest Lebron hater. No,
this was wrong. I don't care what anybody says. How
did you have a ballad as a player and did
not vote for Lebron James to be only all If.

Speaker 5 (20:10):
You had to put your name on it, you would
never do that, right because then we would go wait wait, wait,
wait wait wait twenty seventeen Lebron. You might even have
been to MVP. I don't even know who was MVP
in twenty seventeen, could have been him, Like that guy
isn't getting to vote for you know, simple All Star games?

Speaker 3 (20:24):
Crazy.

Speaker 5 (20:24):
You gotta put your name on that. Then you'd be like,
all right, let me let me keep it real, let
me not do that.

Speaker 1 (20:29):
Andre in Massachusetts, you're on the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (20:32):
What's up, dright, how you doing?

Speaker 4 (20:34):
Thanks for taking the call.

Speaker 7 (20:36):
Listen.

Speaker 4 (20:36):
I'm gonna have to be in agreement. You have to
take these player polls with the grain of salt, and frankly,
they tell on themselves with these outlandish results.

Speaker 3 (20:45):
Yep.

Speaker 4 (20:45):
You know Kaitlynark, you know she's you know, top five
in the league overall. You going to say she's the
ninth best guard, you know, all of the interpersonal things
and somebody didn't, you know, tick up the tab one
night until they have this to missing toward the other player,
and then they take it out, you know, when they
when they have the opportunity in terms of advorcing their vote.

(21:06):
But I also think what it does is highlight what's
current what we have in our culture, which is a
dearth or lack of journalism and the idea that anybody's opinion.
You know, we talk a lot of bit about this.
You know that you can get you know, we all
have opinions, okay, but everyone has a right to their
own opinion. Everyone does not have a right to their
own facts, okay, And so there is a clear difference

(21:26):
between somebody just telling you what they think, you know,
and somebody with a background and academic background, either in
journalism specifically you know, or whatever the company.

Speaker 1 (21:35):
Is, who's done some homework and put some thought in it,
not just shooting off the top of your head like that,
like the shock thing that's just you one night because
Steph had a big night in your own sitting on
the set on TNT and you go, oh, you know,
so look at the night. Yeah, you gotta be in
a go conversation. Then you make your own list.

Speaker 9 (21:53):
And he's living on this so bad even makes sense
even put Kareem in it, Zack, Well, I know what
a career like when he was a Laker and did
they have av a little something big man.

Speaker 1 (22:04):
I'm the best big man that goes to the point
and be big jan Kareem Wall who won all those
championship with the Lakers and also but also was the
leading scorer.

Speaker 3 (22:15):
Of in the history of the game for twenty five
to thirty year.

Speaker 5 (22:18):
Really and just won everything at college, won everything in
high school like you there's an argument Kareem at Duel
Jabars has the greatest resume in the history of basket
There is no arguments, No, there was no utterly ridiculous
all right.

Speaker 3 (22:31):
Uh, we got Foul or Fair with j R.

Speaker 5 (22:34):
Gamble coming up after we find out was trending with
Steve the Sager.

Speaker 2 (22:37):

and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 3 (22:49):
Steve, Thank you, have a great night. Appreciate you.

Speaker 5 (22:51):
It's the od Cover Robin Kelvin on a trash talking Tuesday,
and it's been some time, but we're getting ready to
do it.

Speaker 3 (22:58):
It is now time for Foul or Fair with j R.
Gambles thataftball is it was a big week in the
big leagues. Who's a Who's al? Is it foul or
is it fair?

Speaker 2 (23:14):
And now from mlbanbro dot Com here's JR. Gamble.

Speaker 6 (23:20):
That's right, it is Fowler Fair. Back at it again
for the twenty five season year. The Odd Couple's joining
us for this segment as he does every year. A
real baseball expert. H A guy doesn't have to juice
the numbers on YouTube to convince you that he followed
the score of baseball none other than the man that
medt the legend himself, JR.

Speaker 5 (23:39):
Gamble While he was looking at you when he said that, Rob,
I don't know, man, you see that podcast?

Speaker 3 (23:45):
What what up? Early? That's right?

Speaker 7 (23:48):
I stepped in the building. Everybody be quiet.

Speaker 3 (23:50):
I'm in the building, all right, All right, well we
can be quiet.

Speaker 1 (23:54):
We got some stuff talking about put the put the
building on me building?

Speaker 3 (24:01):
All right.

Speaker 6 (24:03):
I got three baseball topics, and again, because JR. Is
the star of the second, he gets the first crack
at every single one. So let's get to it, JR.
Last night, Red Sox outfielder William A. Bray, you became
the first player in MLB history and almost actually seventy
years to be exact, did a grand slam add an
inside the park home run in the same game.

Speaker 3 (24:26):
Exactly.

Speaker 7 (24:27):
Wow.

Speaker 6 (24:27):
Now we see grand slams happen semi regularly these days,
so Fouler fair to say an inside the parker wink
wink is more impressive than a grand Salami.

Speaker 5 (24:40):
Ball.

Speaker 7 (24:42):
I mean, because to me, Fellas is more rare, right,
a home run that leaves the park for a grand
slam that depends on three other people reaching base first,
and then you have to do your job and crank
one right under those circumstances. To me, the way balls
fly out the park in this era, you see our
share of brand slams inside the park home runs. However,

(25:05):
they're an exhibition of like individual talent, speed based running,
being daring, hustle all in one play. So you don't
see all those elements occur at once on one play
too often. And it takes somebody awfully fast to even
take advantage of an outfield mistake, which usually is the
cause of an inside the park on run running through
m and sixty feet around a basis.

Speaker 1 (25:28):
I gotta go with fair as well ball. I mean,
home runs are one thing, and there are some massive ones.
But you can count on one hand if you go
to ballparks how many times you've seen an inside the
park home run.

Speaker 3 (25:41):
It just doesn't happen.

Speaker 1 (25:42):
It's a rare feat and a lot has to go right.
You gotta have a speed and whatever the where the
ball lands and kicks the other way, it's an exciting
play and then you know also when you have a
great podcast called Inside the Parker that works as well.

Speaker 5 (25:57):
So yes, I would say fair that obviously that's perfect
name for the Inside of the Parker for that.

Speaker 3 (26:03):
But it makes sense to me.

Speaker 5 (26:04):
It is fair because it's exciting and it's something unique,
it's something different. And you mentioned something rob that we
don't get to see as much as coming back a
little bit, the utilization of speed in NLB. It got
a way where it was just swing. I either hit
a home run or I struck out, and that was that.
You start to see speed come back and it just
reminds you that's an element of the game that is
a tool for so players. Yeah, so I love to

(26:26):
see the speed come back in the game. And it's
just fun in a home run once and so once
it goes out the ball, I'm out into the stands.
You know it's over. He gets to trot a round,
you don't know what's about to happen. He's gonna throw
him at a third and play. It's gonna be played
at the plate. So give it inside the park for me,
all right.

Speaker 6 (26:43):
That question was too easy because it was unanimous. So
that number two Jr. Gamble here with the couple Jr.
The big dumper, greatest nickname in sports, by the way,
cal Riley. It is major league leading thirty third homer
of the season last night. Oh he also got a
major league leading seventy one RBI as a result. Bolt
he was serenaded with the MVP chance throughout the night

(27:04):
by the Mariners faithful. So here's the Questionah or fair
to say that Raleigh, not Aaron Judge Rob should be
al MVP, the favorite at least hitting into the All
Star break.

Speaker 3 (27:16):
Fab That is a fallow ball.

Speaker 7 (27:21):
I mean Aaron Judges could have been in the league
all season, right. However, Raleyh's having a first half for
the Ages and Seattle's finally getting that big bopper right
that is lacked for years despite having good to great pitching.
But unfortunately, there's still six games behind the Astros. I
believe tonight in just four games over five hundred. So

(27:44):
because Judge has been so incredible the last half decades, right,
we tend to take his incredible hitting for granted. So
if you're tied to Judge dominating batters and making it
look like a video game, that sure, Raley's the next
logical choice. But I can't say his hitting has impacted
his team more than Judge. Despite the shrinking leading, the

(28:06):
aliast judges bad averages through the roof and he's his
five point I think nine. War is a full point
higher than Riley's at this point. But Hey is judged
by a hair right now.

Speaker 3 (28:17):
For me, yeah, I'm gonna say it's foul. That is
a foul ball. I got it, the big dumper.

Speaker 1 (28:24):
But the only problem is despite all of his numbers,
the Seattle Mariners are dumps to fire.

Speaker 3 (28:29):
I'm just saying, right, you know what I mean.

Speaker 1 (28:32):
I mean like like he's having a we'll see in
the second half. He's a catcher. He catches mostly and
if he wears down. But the thing is, and we
talk about every night, Judge is not just hitting home runs.
Look at his stats, Look at his ops. He's leading
in every category except okay, dumpers a couple of home

(28:52):
runs more and they like Judge has twenty and he
has thirty three. Judge has thirty, he has thirty three,
and they're close and rbyes like it's all right there,
But all the other numbers, war Op has all those
other things.

Speaker 3 (29:06):
Judge has all those over three fifty for sure. It
is foul. That is a foul.

Speaker 5 (29:11):
Boll tell you why you guys hit all the points
you know, And the only thing I can add to
it is a couple of things. One, you know, I'm
big on this when it comes to MVPs, Rob, don't
get fatigued.

Speaker 3 (29:19):
People get fatigued. I've seen it before.

Speaker 7 (29:21):
I know.

Speaker 5 (29:21):
No, what he's doing is amazing, hitting for power, hitting
for average, and another thing too, because he's a reigning MVP.

Speaker 3 (29:26):
You have to take it to me. It can't.

Speaker 5 (29:28):
It can't just be uh, it's just go there now, like, no,
you gotta take this from him because what he's doing
is amazing and it's doing it even at a better
rate than last year. So to me, you have to
come take it. It's close. It's not crazy, right, but no,
I think it's you.

Speaker 3 (29:42):
You can't. You can't take it from him quite yet.
So it's foul. I should have known better.

Speaker 6 (29:46):
With two MLB bros and Calvin X over here, big dumper,
It's okay, that's.

Speaker 3 (29:52):
All right, Rob g. You know, maybe me take your
brother car for that now. Last one fouler fair? Are
we just an honest opinion?

Speaker 6 (29:59):
It's just because yes, yes, That's exactly why.

Speaker 3 (30:03):
Alex said that he would take the big gump. I
bet you if it was MLB dude, the big dumber
will be first. Let me tell you mL dude all right.
MLB bruh, MLB bro all right? Uh?

Speaker 6 (30:14):
Valor fair Jr. Gamble mlbbro dot Com Managing editor, sitting
in with the guys last one. Clayton Kershaw is set
to get the star for the Dodgers tomorrow night against Chicago.
He's just three k's away from three thousand career strikeouts.
Put that in perspective. Aside from Sherzer and Verlander, two
guys have already hit three thousand. Nobody else is within
four hundred strikeouts of three thousand. Like, that's how big

(30:37):
of a discrepancy there is right now. So, guys, here's
the question, Jr. Fel or fair to say that after
Kershaw we won't see another three thousand strikeout picture in
our lifetimes?

Speaker 7 (30:49):
I mean, never say never, but fair.

Speaker 3 (30:51):
It's a fair ball.

Speaker 7 (30:53):
I mean the way baseballers now pitchers don't put in
the innings or throw enough pitches more to get the
three thousand k's, that's just what it is. How would
we ever see it happen again. You know what kind
of innings load a pitcher has to put in to
acquire three thousand strikeouts? How many pitches he have to

(31:14):
throw to get there? There are plenty of capable pictures
now pitching, especially with guys striking out at an all
time high rate, but they won't get a chance. Chris
Sale is thirty six. He has just over twenty five hundred.
It's possible that is rubber arm keeps popping. He could
get another five hundred more k's, but I don't know

(31:35):
if he can hang on that long. And you got
Garrett Cole, who's second, thirty four years old. He has
a little over I believe twenty two hundred career ks
with his injured rehi history. How long is he really
going to pitch long enough to get eight hundred more k's? Maybe,
but unlikely. Everyone else is too old or too young
at this point. And in addition to the new I

(31:56):
think metrics devalue things like k's and when so, how
important is it even for a picture to go for
those facts anymore?

Speaker 3 (32:05):
I say foul No way, that is a foul boy.

Speaker 1 (32:10):
I could give you two guys off the top of
my head, no way skeens and school BOYD and I
watched Skillble pitch in person Sunday night in Detroit where he.

Speaker 3 (32:20):
Had a career high thirteen.

Speaker 1 (32:22):
He strikes people out and he pitched I think seven
innings or seven innings at thirteen strike But you get
my point, and skiings isn't his career Wait a minute,
you had your time.

Speaker 7 (32:33):
Wait just you're just saying stuff. You don't even know
what I mean.

Speaker 3 (32:37):
Career stike out he had thirteen. I just said that
he tied his career high.

Speaker 7 (32:43):
We're talking about three thousand over a coreer.

Speaker 3 (32:45):
I get it.

Speaker 1 (32:46):
But I'm saying we have strikeout pitchers. It ain't like
you just pitched and you get five strikeouts. Thirteen is
a number I'm telling you. I'm telling you that there
will be a guy who's going to strike out that
many pictures because he's that good.

Speaker 3 (33:00):
And they're not.

Speaker 1 (33:01):
Gonna go to the bullpen automatically like Schoolbo had a
one hitter. He pitched guade. They're gonna beat schemes and
school is why it.

Speaker 5 (33:10):
Is fair, Rob fair because why shouldn't he just have
a complete game?

Speaker 3 (33:14):
Why can't guys have complete games? Don't team.

Speaker 1 (33:16):
Strike cause you don't need to put a complete game.
I'm saying strike. You watch the games, there's no man.

Speaker 5 (33:22):
If a pitcher gets past seventy five eighty five pitches,
they start shaking it out with guys, they pull them out.

Speaker 3 (33:27):
And here's another thing.

Speaker 5 (33:29):
We're starting to see more and more burnout because these
kids are playing more and more baseball, pitching more and more.

Speaker 3 (33:34):
You're kidding yourself, he's gonna get three. Yeah, we're gonna
if the three thousand and eight.

Speaker 5 (33:42):
Okay, maybe, but it ain't happening in our lifetime. It
ain't happening in my daughter's lifetime. What I'll be retired
in Arizona. I'm gonna text you shoot me in a text.
You mean she's gonna text me. You don't know how to
use the phone by then? Alright, No, absolutely ain't happen.

Speaker 3 (33:56):
All right, j R. Thank you man, I appreciate it. JR.
Gamble is always good to have you back. That's right, thanks.

Speaker 7 (34:01):
For having my back.

Speaker 3 (34:02):
Kelvin's got you, man, That's all right,
