Let's give this.
Speaker 3 (00:25):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio, our number three of
the Odd Couple here on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (00:36):
After a spirited trash talking.
Speaker 4 (00:39):
Tuesday eight talk trash, didn't they rob Parker kelvin Washington,
And we're broadcasting live from the tire rach dot com studios.

Tyre rach dot com will help you get there an
unmatched selection, fast, free shipping, free roadhazard protection, and over

tire buying should be a lot of stuff to get
to in this final hour.
Speaker 2 (01:03):
Now, the Guardians just had a chance. They did.
Speaker 1 (01:05):
They had Garrett Cole on the ropes bases loaded one out,
fry comes up. He just walked about it from the
batter ahead of him to load the bases on four pitches,
swings at the first pitch, fouls out to third base
like that that you couldn't make a worse out, hit
a sacrifice fly, get a run. The score is only
three nothing, so you could have cut into the lead.
(01:28):
And then the last guy got up. I didn't see
who it was. He struck out looking, so the Yankees
still lead three to nothing. It's the bottom of the
fourth in the Bronx.
Speaker 5 (01:37):
You gotta makes little small things like that in postseasons.
Any sports kills you, kills you because those are the moments.
And Dodgers had a couple of exact same thing happened
at Dodgers gave. They had a couple of moments. All right,
if you can get this, uh, I want to say
it was key K. Somebody hit into a double play
with basically we were just talking about okay, so I'm
not crazy. It was key K And you're like, man,
(01:58):
this could be that moment, right even if he just
brings home one now at six or four gas, because.
Speaker 2 (02:03):
Then all you need is a bloop and a blast.
You got to a point and just little small plays.
Speaker 5 (02:08):
And that's what makes postseason, especially baseball, even hockey makes it.
It's so exciting as one every play matter, every pitch,
every hit, every bloop every era. It's like magnified. Uh
and so yeah, but we'll see what happens. Still got
a little bit left in this one.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
No doubt. All right.
Speaker 1 (02:22):
So the news of the day too is that it
was reported that the Steelers could start Russell Wilson as
their starting quarterback. What is that is that Monday against
the Jet? What day are they playing Sunday? I'm sorry,
because some more primetime Jets with Davante and all that,
(02:42):
and then and then and then playing Steelers.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
Fun.
Speaker 1 (02:45):
Yes, and this does not come as a surprise to
me at all.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
I've said the whole It doesn't.
Speaker 1 (02:50):
That that they're looking to move on and and and
go to Russell Wilson as a starting quarterback over Justin Fields.
Speaker 2 (02:58):
Justin Fields didn't play off. He did not.
Speaker 1 (03:01):
They won their first three games, they lost a couple,
then they won their four and two. Under normal circumstance,
you would be like, yes, this is good, and I
said this to you, But he didn't do enough to
where he was overwhelming where there's no if like, there's
no room for improvement on the offense, there is room
for improvement. And you have a veteran quarterback who's won
(03:22):
a Super Bowl and been to two Super Bowls.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
And here's the other thing.
Speaker 1 (03:25):
And I said this to you, this is about Mike
Tomlin and what he's done there. They haven't won a
playoff game in eight years, since twenty sixteen.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
And they have a defense.
Speaker 1 (03:38):
They he wants, you know what I mean, wants to
give himself a chance to win something. Now, if Russell
Wilson gets out there, and what's the bed. All bets
are often but he has to at least see Russell
Wilson and see if this offense can do more if
you take the training wheels off. And that's what they
had with justin fields. That's that's why he didn't turn
(04:01):
the ball over. You looked at a lot of his games.
He didn't throw a lot of passes, right ten to
twelve passes. Most of it was running plays and all
that kind of stuff. And they still were able to
score and kick a lot of field goals. But they
know deep down that if you're going to win and
win big, you got to do a little bit more
than that. And so this is why it's not a surprise.
There are people out there and Steelers fans who were
(04:23):
like you, who thought that there's no way they're going
to replace Justin Fields. Coming off a win and being
four and too, people thought, well, had he lost, maybe
and they were three and three, maybe they did make
the change, but they won.
Speaker 5 (04:36):
Well, there's a couple other circumstances why you would thought
maybe that they would stick with Justin Fields. So I
want to say two different things here. For me, one,
Kelvin Washington would be and would continue to stick with
Justin Fields. I think he is your long term answer.
I think he's only going to get better. I think
he's free from what the Bears were and actually has
(04:57):
a team that has a defense, has an idea. Did
he know what they are? And he can grow from there?
You're four and two, only to get better. He's what
twenty four to twenty five years old? So I like that. Also,
last time I seen Russell Wilson, wasn't that great? Wasn't
that great?
Speaker 2 (05:11):
He had a pretty good unit. Wasn't that great?
Speaker 5 (05:12):
I'm not I'm not saying he was bad, but I'm
saying he didn't make me go, WHOA, I have to
get in there.
Speaker 2 (05:16):
Well, but this, but this is the only thing is
Tomlin even said it.
Speaker 1 (05:19):
Go look at the quote he said that Justin Fields
was good, but I'm looking for great. Yeah, but there's
a difference between good and great, and so did I
get great.
Speaker 5 (05:28):
I'm gonna keep playing him. So this is what I
was going with this rob. So the thing I said
was Kelvin, I'm still running Justin Fields out there. But
I said, this is what I kept arguing with you,
Mike Tomlin doesn't have to marry himself to Justin Fields.
I kept saying that he didn't have to make a
decision because he has these two girlfriends that are new.
Speaker 2 (05:45):
I'm dating both of y'all. I'm dating to see what
I like, what I like about her. I like her.
Speaker 5 (05:48):
She doesn't like to cook. Oh, but she gives great
back inside. But that's not what but you, and that's
what he That's no, No, that's what I said every week.
I said, I'm going with Justin Fields. But I'm I'm
saying kept saying my Tomlin doesn't have to make that
decision because he has no marriage between two. It's not
Ben Roethlisberger. We got this thing. We've been going together
for years. I know you trust you. I'mna ride with
you or I'm not gonna ride with you. These are
(06:09):
two dudes that came literally at the same time. I
don't know what y'all do. No, that's what I rob g.
Was that not what I was saying?
Speaker 6 (06:15):
No?
Speaker 1 (06:15):
But but the but here's the issue is that if
Justin Fields had played well enough, he could have made
that call. Yes, you gotta stop shaking your head. He
could have made the call if he played well enough.
Because Russell Wilson as the older quarterback, your futures with
Justin Fields, would.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
You give me that?
Speaker 1 (06:34):
Yeah, I'm just saying he didn't win the job out
of camp. That's number one. He got the job because
Russell Wilson got hurt, right and he didn't light them.
Speaker 2 (06:45):
Go look at the numbers.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
They're at the bottom offensively, despite their record, despite winning
the first three, despite going your two.
Speaker 2 (06:52):
Do you know it not good? Now? You do know?
Speaker 5 (06:56):
As I go back to about ten minutes, fourteen minutes ago,
I said this, that or both, because Mike Talmin has
not said he's going to Russell Wilson number one and
number two, you you kill I'm being serious.
Speaker 1 (07:08):
And he's also saying to let me ask you this
right here, right now, who's gonna start on the game
on Sunday.
Speaker 4 (07:14):
It could be just that's not what I asked, because
I'm at you. He said both, No, No, no, Aunty.
Speaker 5 (07:19):
He literally just said the situation who's starting the game
on Sunday?
Speaker 1 (07:24):
I don't know, Okay, just like me and you. I
don't know me and you talked the other day. I
asked you would Russell Wilson play this year? And you
told me no, that's what.
Speaker 5 (07:34):
I would if i'm I would do I would not
have him start because I like what.
Speaker 1 (07:38):
Just that is, even in consideration, tells you all you
need to know if it's a no.
Speaker 2 (07:44):
He didn't have to say that. I'm not questioning that.
Speaker 5 (07:46):
What now he's saying that they might get both, they
might go to do some hybrid. He just said, we
there's a situation where we he's both. Who's starting on Sunday?
Speaker 2 (07:55):
Hello? Is this on? I don't know today? What today?
Choose that one. I don't know you. I don't know
he's starting. I'm not asking you.
Speaker 4 (08:05):
I don't know who's started. Who's starting with Russell Wilson,
Yes he started. It might be justin Fields or Russell
Wilson comes in.
Speaker 1 (08:11):
And k They had a sources say story and Russell
Wilson won't start on sun.
Speaker 2 (08:17):
Really like this. This worked.
Speaker 5 (08:20):
This worn't Mike tom And I would be with you,
Mike Thimland, and might do that. He would do that
to spite somebody, just to tell you don't know what's
going on in our organization. And my whole thing is, again,
this was the best case scenario if you're the Steelers
in that we have a I told you, I've said it,
a breaking case of emergency potential.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
K to be wrong once in a while. I have
no problem be wrong. I still start just.
Speaker 5 (08:42):
Once twice with Christophers wrong Rice or twice this week Tuesday.
Speaker 4 (08:48):
I didn't you even get that clip? That was the
one time I said that. This week he gets to
do it daily. I'm sticking with Justin. If he wants
to go to Russell Wilson, it makes all the sense. Again,
he's a more quarterback. He's a super Bowl winning quarterback.
Should have been two super bowls, but they blew that.
I don't think I little it with that interception. I
don't like what I've seen from him the last couple
(09:08):
of years. He looked better last year than the year prior,
for sure, But again for me, this is why Mike
Tomlin again, I kept saying he's dating them because let's
say they go through a three or four game stretch
and Russell Wilson is I Let's say they go four games,
Russell Wilson goes two and two and he looks either
just like Justin Fields. I don't think he's athletic as
he can run as much at this point in his career.
(09:29):
But let's say he's look all right, they very well
may go back to Justin Fields like I think he's
in a I'm gonna see what I like and then
I'll start to lock it down as we get towards
potentially a postseason. I think he is flirting and Dayton
with both of these du because I owe him nothing
I got him. At the same time, both of them
are on with these small contracts, not like I got
some fifty million dollar guy in here.
Speaker 2 (09:49):
But I like what they were doing with Justin Fields.
Speaker 5 (09:51):
And also their offensive line has not been great, and
a lot of Pittsburgh fans we actually had some calling
and saying he's gonna give them the best option as
far as getting out of the pocket, running and making
places because Russell ain't what he used to be as
far as yeah.
Speaker 2 (10:03):
But you still have to throw the football too.
Speaker 1 (10:05):
You just can't run every down and and they and
and rely on field goals and that that's true. That's true,
and that and that's one of the issues and why
they had the training wheels.
Speaker 5 (10:16):
I don't think they needed it though, I really don't.
Right like all jokes aside, I don't think they you
know how you like try to like, all right, let's
just see, let's just hold on, let's just do I
think Justin Fields can slang that thing, because if you
if you let guys go out there and start to
have a different organ sets of offense, off sense of plays.
We had to eight from Salamo earlier. He mentioned that
like they kind of were restricting him. Let that let
(10:38):
him do his thing. But now you have Russell Wilson,
who obviously has a better arm historically. We'll see if
it still is uh, and we'll see what he's able
to do. But I think I think we're gonna I
don't think we're not gonna see Justin Fields again. Like
if if Russell Wilson starts whatever Sunday, I don't think
we're not gonna see rus Justin Fields again. I think
they're gonna keep riding this thing out until they say, ohheartedly,
(11:01):
he's the guy, like whoever.
Speaker 2 (11:03):
He might be.
Speaker 1 (11:04):
You might see him in a different set or out
there like as a slot or slash or something like that,
or you know, like some sort.
Speaker 5 (11:14):
Of they got Ben Johnson the Lions offense, of course,
but I get you saying like, yeah.
Speaker 7 (11:20):
Like that.
Speaker 1 (11:20):
And that's why I say when he says they might
both play, it's got to be like that. It's not
going to be like you come in for the running
plays and Russell you're out there for the past. I
don't expect him to go back and forth, don't.
Speaker 5 (11:32):
I just don't. I don't if I'm in it. I
don't quite see why he had to pull the trigger
so soon. I don't like Again, I get you have
Russell Wilson back there, and he looks healthy and you
can do your thing.
Speaker 2 (11:42):
I just still don't feel I feel like Justin Fields.
Speaker 5 (11:44):
Was doing enough, playing well enough defense, good and really
good defense, and you're heading in the right direction to
where it to me, why I'm just rying with Justin Field.
Speaker 1 (11:54):
Here the numbers, and these are the numbers that I'm
sure that they saw, and they know what the issues
quarterback QBR through six games fifty four, ranking twentieth amongst
all quarterbacks. Steelers ranked twenty eighth and passing yards and
twentieth in points.
Speaker 2 (12:10):
You definitely want more out of that.
Speaker 1 (12:12):
And they ranked twenty fifth in total yards on offense.
This is why the change is being made despite the success,
because they know that it's the defense and the field
goals that have been made. But those are not numbers
where you're gonna stick with the quarter.
Speaker 5 (12:27):
Russell Wilson, he better come in and cook, you know
what I mean, because I think you're I think they
were building something with justin fields.
Speaker 2 (12:33):
I mean, shoot, is what six games? You know what
I mean? Like, it's only six game? Wasn't like sixteen?
Speaker 5 (12:38):
Uh so, yeah, he only ten touchdowns, only two turnovers
give you about two two to thirty two forty yards
total yards defense. The way they're built, they're built to
kind of play this ball right now with the defense
and TJ.
Speaker 2 (12:51):
Watten the guys.
Speaker 5 (12:51):
So I just again, I'm I'm not making the change
if I'm Mike Tomlin yet those numbers, but those numbers
I just gave you because my projection is we're only
gonna get better. He's he's this is his first six
games with us. He's only gonna get better. We're only
gonna start. And I'm also looking out there too. Maybe
we go get to Mike Williams, maybe we make a
trade and get another offensive player. I just wouldn't make
(13:12):
the move right now. But again, it's not like he's
making the move for you know, uh, Kevin Cobb or something.
He's making a move for Russell Wilson. So I understand it.
He's approven veteran who's had a Hall of Fame like career,
if not a Hall of Fame career. So I again,
he's not going back to It's not just Joe Flacco
where it's like, okay, why why Joe Flacco, Like I know,
(13:33):
he's not your future. He's going to Russell Wilson, who's
a potential Hall of Famer. So I'm not mad at it.
I just wouldn't have. I'd ride this thing out until
we start to either lose more games or just I'm
giving you ten twelve weeks and it's not working all right.
Speaker 1 (13:47):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven

We've been talking about. Uh.
Speaker 5 (16:03):
The report and the sources say that Russell Wilson's getting
the first string snaps with the Steelers are looking as
if he's going to start. Mike Tomlin hasn't had said it.
He also said that the chance you could see both,
he's getting first, he's looking like he's gonna st that's
looking like he's gonna start.
Speaker 2 (16:18):
I'll give you that. We're taking your calls.
Speaker 5 (16:20):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven
ninety nine on Fox, we got.
Speaker 1 (16:24):
All right, and the Guardians have pulled within one. It
is three to two. Yeah, runners on first and third.
We're only in the fifth in the Bronx. All right,
Heavy in Kentucky, you're on the odd couple of Fox Sports.
Speaker 2 (16:35):
Ready, what you got? Heavy?
Speaker 6 (16:37):
Hey? What's up?
Speaker 7 (16:38):
Fellas?
Speaker 2 (16:38):
Hiyo?
Speaker 6 (16:39):
I want first one first say, I can't really agree
with anything up says, because we had a debate about
three or four months ago. But we'll talk about this
some other time.
Speaker 2 (16:47):
That'll be another bright called Jim Rome for that. Go ahead. Well,
I wouldn't know the debate. What was the debate? Lies
anybody remembers, go I was just saying what was the debate?
Speaker 6 (16:55):
But go ahead, I'll tell you when I get done
with this.
Speaker 2 (16:58):
Yeah, call Calvin Kelvin on his other radio show.
Speaker 6 (17:01):
Okay, No, I think Justin Fields keeps starting. The only
reason why is because I go with how a player
he is. I don't think Russell Wilson's Pittsburgh material by myself.
I mean it's this way I think. I don't think
he should be able. I think until Fields really falls
(17:24):
on his face and he can just come in here
and be a savior, then yes, But until then, I
don't think Russell should go in there.
Speaker 1 (17:32):
Did you hear the stats? Heavy? I know, did you
hear the stats? Or you're just you might like the player? No, no, no,
listen to me. You might like a player. The stats
say you make a quarterback change. Okay, fifty four QBR
ranking twenty ath amongst all quarterbacks. The Stillers ranked twenty
eighth in passing yards and twenty aeth then points, and
(17:55):
ranked twenty fifth in total yards as an offense.
Speaker 5 (17:59):
The number are bad, but hold on, hold on, let me.
Speaker 6 (18:03):
Go ahead, Heavy, let me throw something back at you
real quick.
Speaker 1 (18:06):
What's the record, It doesn't matter, You're not gonna win
a long term.
Speaker 2 (18:11):
They know that.
Speaker 1 (18:13):
That's what haven't won a playoff game in in eight years?
Speaker 2 (18:16):
Okay?
Speaker 10 (18:17):
And what happens every year?
Speaker 1 (18:18):
Heavy, They can't score in the playoffs. They can't score.
Speaker 10 (18:22):
Let me ask you, maybe, let me ask you another course?
Speaker 2 (18:24):
No, No, have time for all that?
Speaker 11 (18:25):
Have you?
Speaker 2 (18:26):
Other people want to get in Thank you Heavy, Don't
worry about it.
Speaker 5 (18:29):
I got you Heavy because you want to talk about
numbers like Aaron Rodgers. Numbers ain't worse, but he ain't.
He ain't calling for a backup for Aaron Rodgers. You
ain't calling for that.
Speaker 2 (18:36):
Come on, I mean, are we really? You ain't calling
for that? Come on?
Speaker 4 (18:40):
Justin Fields is winning games and producing and not turning
the ball over.
Speaker 2 (18:44):
Justin Fields, It's the truth.
Speaker 1 (18:46):
Andre and Massachusetts, you're on the odd couple of Fox sportsuaiting.
Speaker 2 (18:49):
What's up, Drake Yea?
Speaker 6 (18:51):
How you doing?
Speaker 12 (18:52):
Thanks for taking a call. I don't have an issue
with the Steelers move based on their philosophy and something
that Mike Tomlin said all the time. I'm gonna deal
with it until I can replace it. And Justin Field's play,
even though they have been winning, has not necessitated him
continue as the starting quarterback. So you look at Mike
tom and he says to himself, Okay, you know we're
you know, it's going good, but it's not going great.
(19:14):
Let me see what I have with Russell Wilson and
see if we can't tweak and improve on some of
these areas. And then as I get into the middle
and particularly the back half of the season, then I'll
make my definitive decision in terms of who our leader is.
So I don't mind it because they have two quarterbacks.
You know, if you have two quarterbacks, how many quarterbacks
do you have? You have none, You're kind of the thing,
right you can't really make the decision. Then you've already
(19:36):
kind of hamstrung yourself. So I just feel like the
Steelers are going to have this. This is going to
be the case for them all the way through, and
if they do make the playoffs, which is going to
be tough in the AFC, They're always going to be,
you know field that you're until you make a couple
of mistakes, never going to go to the other person,
and it's just going to flip flop that way for
the entirety of the season.
Speaker 5 (19:54):
That's why I thought they would just stay with Justin Fields.
Like I get, he's not putting up world beater numbers.
Nobody's disagreeing with that. I just thought they're successful, they're winning,
and they're only going to hopefully get better. I thought
that's why to his point, we're gonna ride this thing
out that we have to make a change.
Speaker 2 (20:07):
Kirk in Ohio. You're on the couple of Fox Sports Radio.
What's up, Kirk?
Speaker 7 (20:11):
Hey, guys, I listen every night. Hey Kevin, you're great.
You're great on the show Man, you make you make
the program, Lodi Final listen every night.
Speaker 2 (20:20):
Appreciate you, Kirk, Thank you man.
Speaker 7 (20:23):
That's what I see. Justin Fields is not a good
ball dis fiver. He's not a pocket passer. He's had
his chances. Here's what I say, Paul Cordell Stewart. But
Justin Fields as an h back and he would be
the most dangerous player in the NFL. I'm telling you
(20:44):
that's what.
Speaker 2 (20:45):
That's what he wanted to be, Slash, he wanted to be.
Speaker 7 (20:48):
That's what they did Black two point zero. I'm telling
you Fields is a great athlete. He would be the
most dangerous player in the NFL.
Speaker 1 (20:57):
Yeah, that might be more suited for him because he
doesn't pass through the ball. I'm not saying that he can't.
Oh kid, that's going to be said. He got to
be slash robed. But that's what we're talking about saying
you operate. Thank you Kirk for listening. Appreciate the complimence.
Speaker 2 (21:11):
That's got to be racist. Yeah, you only operate in extremes,
you know that. Ge what what's my moniker? When it
comes to quarterbacks? You don't like black quarterbacks.
Speaker 5 (21:20):
I don't want to say, well, well, now you see wow,
that's why, Yes, Russell Wilson is well.
Speaker 11 (21:28):
Parker was the only guy in all of national media
who was applauding Tim Tebow. Switch the tight end. No,
he was like, good, we need more white tight ends NFL.
Speaker 5 (21:37):
Yes, you need a white cornerback right now, because I
don't know if there's literally a white.
Speaker 2 (21:41):
There is there is. There was just a story about it.
What happened that there's a there's a white cornerback. How
do you feel about Lamar Jackson? He's the best. Okay,
we do like Lamar that. Yeah, we do agree on that.
We got that. So that one you're okay with that guy?
That one that one. I don't like.
Speaker 5 (22:00):
The only forced to like Russell Wilson probably like No,
Doc DeShawn don't like that.
Speaker 11 (22:06):
Who else don't you like? He said he'll tolerate CJ.
Strowd true words, because he's light skinned.
Speaker 2 (22:12):
Is that right? That's what he said. It was in
honor of Rossar tolerated Chris.
Speaker 1 (22:17):
I told Chris, I said, you know before that, you know,
you were announced as the partner. I said, if if
I got a black partner, we called it the new show,
The Black Eyed Couples.
Speaker 2 (22:27):
I know, I know, and I think he was mad
about that too. Well. I think he's still mad at
I still had his panties in a bunch of things.
Speaker 9 (22:32):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Chris Brussard and Rob Parker weekdays at seven pm
Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the
iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 5 (22:43):
The OT Couple, Rob Parker, Kevin Washington. All Right, so
Tom Brady now has been doing his job for a
handful of weeks as a broadcaster worth what two three
hundred million dollars for Fox? Uh, but that job might
get a little more difficult, Rob, Rob G is.
Speaker 2 (22:58):
Gonna explain what I mean by that. That's right.
Speaker 11 (23:01):
It was made official on Tuesday, know about a year so,
but Tom Brady officially now is the proud owner of
five percent of the Las Vegas Raiders football franchise. Mark
Dave was so excited, he said, it's like we traded
away Davante Adams for Tom Brady in the third round pick.
So he's all giddy about Tom and the silver.
Speaker 2 (23:20):
Yeah. Tom's cash that he had to throw in the
minority owner, right right.
Speaker 11 (23:25):
So but here's the so, you know, the Raiders are
like the poorest team, right, not anymore, I mean not
with the mood of vagavaluation skyrocket.
Speaker 2 (23:33):
Yeah, but I thought he didn't have any oh.
Speaker 5 (23:35):
I mean yeah, probably he doesn't have it like everybody
else things. Yeah, he might have value when he's like
the Lakers, but he sells it. The Lakers too, don't
have any money if you if you sell it, you
got money.
Speaker 2 (23:47):
But they don't have money.
Speaker 5 (23:48):
As a fan of those family owned teams, where that's
all we have is this thing.
Speaker 2 (23:51):
The Browns don't have money, you know, unless you sell it. Yep.
Speaker 5 (23:55):
And that's the whole point. What makes you that the
Browns family is you own the Browns, so you know,
but go ahead.
Speaker 11 (24:00):
So Tom Brady again proud owner of five percent of
the Raiders. However, he does still have a day job
at Fox, where he is the lead television analyst on
their number one play by play broadcast team. I don't
know if Fox knew this or even he knew this,
but once he officially became ratified as a part owner
(24:21):
of the Raiders, there were some new restrictions put in
place as to what he can and can't do as
a broadcaster.
Speaker 2 (24:28):
Here's a list.
Speaker 11 (24:30):
He is no longer allowed to be in another team's facility.
He's no longer allowed to watch another team practice. He's
no longer allowed to attend a broadcast production meeting, either
in person or virtually. He is now prohibited from publicly
criticizing game officials and other clubs.
Speaker 1 (24:53):
So basically he can't be a TV analyst, right, saying
with those restrictions as a minority owner, because that, I mean,
he's handcuffed.
Speaker 5 (25:02):
Dude, this is crazy, and they're gonna have to make exceptions.
They're gonna have to literally go, oh, we didn't literally
mean it like that. They're gonna find some No, we
were just saying hypothetically or there's a carve out or
we were just saying, and there's certain circumstances.
Speaker 2 (25:16):
Cauz.
Speaker 5 (25:17):
Fox is in bed with the NFL, right, this is
the big this is where we air all the games,
and you want them to be successful. And part of
what they believe is being successful is them having Tom
Brady on the air. So like, you're not gonna he
just got started too. It's not like this is year seven.
Speaker 1 (25:30):
Or eight and a ten year old, ten year, seventy
five million dollar deal.
Speaker 5 (25:35):
Right, so he's not going anywhere. Fox isn't going anywhere
with the NFL. So like they're gonna find some compromise
or somebody's gonna have to do all the heavy lifting.
Like we went and got all the interviews because he
couldn't get in the facility. We went and did this
because he couldn't talk to this person. Maybe there's some
way to control his assets where like he's the owner,
but he put it in a kid's name or something like,
(25:57):
you know what I mean, some way around it, because
this is just too strange and you feel like an agent, manager,
a lawyer someone would tell him, Hey, Tom, by the way,
if you're trying to still pursue his ownership. You're not
gonna be able to be a broadcaster. Hey, if you're
trying to be a broadcaster, you're not gonna be able
to be a minority one.
Speaker 2 (26:16):
Because it's Tom Brady. They're gonna work, they're gonna do something.
Speaker 1 (26:19):
No, no, they won't allow him to break the rules.
But Fox will just go, Okay, you can't go to practice,
you can't do.
Speaker 5 (26:25):
We'll just have something feed you everything we were we
were at the production meeting. We talked about so we
talked to this this guest and interview this place.
Speaker 2 (26:33):
That's what somebody will be.
Speaker 1 (26:34):
There'll be a surrogate, yep, and they'll be Brady's eyes
and ears, and they'll feed them all the notes and
this is what happened and whatever whatever.
Speaker 5 (26:42):
Man Sinny caps them is his job. Though it hamstrings
what he can do, because that's what's great, right, There's
no Brady being able to go into a locker room
and let's say I don't know who the next game
is that he has to call, but let's just say
it was, you know, uh, the Eagles and the Cowboy.
Him sitting down with Jalen Hurts and being like, you know, hey, man,
you know, and you know they do those. I got
a chance to sit down with him and they roll
the tape and him and Jalen just doing a little
(27:03):
walk and talk kind of thing, and he's like, what's
going on, man? You know you were an MVP candidate
a couple of years back. What's going like to lose
that part?
Speaker 2 (27:10):
To me?
Speaker 5 (27:11):
That's part of the three hundred and seventy five million
I'm getting is that players like you, Players trust you.
You have that rapport with guys and be able to
get them to talk to you in a way maybe
they wouldn't talk to someone else. I'm losing that as Fox,
and that's part of what I was paying you for
White Roue was the access that you would have, the
things that you can get that others can't. So that
kind of sucks on their behalf not being able to
get that anymore. But they're not. They'll work around it.
(27:33):
They're not going to be like, oh, Brady, you can't
be the number one collar.
Speaker 2 (27:37):
They just won't do it. Oh for sure, No, there
gonna He's gonna do it. I just I think we
the viewer paid.
Speaker 1 (27:41):
Three hundred seventy five million dollars for somebody, and you're
talking about fully guaranteed deal for ten years without any experience.
Speaker 5 (27:48):
I was the part I was about to say this
ain't like this ain't John Madden was like, hey, I
probably gonna give me three seventy five.
Speaker 2 (27:53):
I'm leaving.
Speaker 5 (27:54):
You're like, well, Charles Barkley, somebody like that. Man, I'm
like three seventy five off the off the seventh.
Speaker 1 (28:00):
The Super Bowl rings off the rip, especially when he
wasn't even that glib as a as a being a player,
being an interviewed.
Speaker 5 (28:06):
I have, I have like Tom Brady post Patriots. Post Patriots.
Tom Brady has been fun He's been talking smack. He's
been getting into it with your boy Baker. He's been
much more funny in commercials. He's been funny on social media.
He's been insightful on social media. He's had some great
points on social media. He's called out the NFL for
the way they rep the way the game is.
Speaker 2 (28:28):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (28:28):
He does the roast. Anybody see the rose to Tom
Brady on Netflix? Rob g you see that. I know,
I know he ain't s Yeah. It was really good,
Like I mean, it was it was crazy raunch. You
don't watch it with the kids around. But like I've
liked this version of the I actually have a personality.
Speaker 2 (28:43):
I'm actually a person.
Speaker 5 (28:44):
I just was up under the Bill Belichick regime and
I couldn't do or say things version of Tom Brady.
Speaker 2 (28:49):
I like that. So you just basically give him a
pass all the time. We give give him pass for well,
no Bill.
Speaker 1 (28:58):
That Bill Belichick controlled him from being all the guys
on that team a personality.
Speaker 2 (29:02):
I will wait, That's what I'm saying. I will wait
for you to name him. I'm just go ahead, Rob
g you just say that's from another seven minute argument.
I'm trying to.
Speaker 11 (29:10):
I'm trying to so Robin is well documented that Tom
Brady is not your favorite person.
Speaker 2 (29:14):
I'm just not okay. But here's the question. You don't
think he's a good broadcaster.
Speaker 11 (29:22):
Mark Davis says he's going to have some real influence
in the raided front office move forward? Which one do
you think he's going to be better at building a
football team with Vegas or being a broadcaster for Fox?
Speaker 2 (29:36):
Can I pick neither? Is there anything he's good at?
Speaker 13 (29:41):
Well, he played quarterback, who's a good quarterback? There's definitely
scratch your head. Let me see because he's a little overrated.
But he's okay. I mean, he a little lucky budd
He is fine. Maybe I'll say it's hard to build
a team, and it ain't as easy as people think,
you know.
Speaker 2 (29:58):
Like that's fair, it really is.
Speaker 11 (29:59):
You think he's to go to the Belichick model, you know,
and just you know, not quick runners. But we're not
going to pay a lot of guys a lot of money,
use guys up and get a bunch of.
Speaker 2 (30:09):
Which I always was against.
Speaker 1 (30:13):
And I thought that people going to the Patriots are.
Speaker 2 (30:17):
Ridiculous because they kept doing the same thing to people.
Speaker 1 (30:20):
Use them up during their good years, not get cash
them out, give them their deals.
Speaker 5 (30:24):
That person and I'm with you, but that person walks
around with a ring right now.
Speaker 1 (30:28):
But long term, I know that sounds good and I
might have done it for one ring.
Speaker 5 (30:32):
I want to get it. Do you want to go over?
This team wants to give you. Two years twenty five,
Tyreek went to the Diami. Yeah, I won a super
Bowl for a while. We are you trying to go
back no before wide receiver though, because he don't have
a quarterback before. It ain't have to go win no ring.
It's because he don't have a quarterback.
Speaker 1 (30:48):
My point is that, Nope, you don't get judged that
way as as any other player. So that doesn't matter
to you. Oh yeah, Tyreek one three, he's super Bowl.
No it's not quarterbacks get judged like that, but players.
So you want to get paid before you get your
head knocked off?
Speaker 2 (31:04):
Yeah, I don't.
Speaker 5 (31:05):
I won't take away that some guys actually want to win,
Like I want to be a part of a winning thing.
Speaker 2 (31:10):
I want to win a ring. I want to be
a part of success. I don't want to be losing.
Speaker 5 (31:13):
I don't want to be playing with the Browns all
the time, or the Jets or the Lions historically up
into the last few seasons. I want to go and
win because the Lions, as you know, that was a
place where players want to die. Like when you got
trains to the Lions for like a fifteen twenty year period.
Speaker 2 (31:25):
It was like in the career, my career is over,
this is it?
Speaker 5 (31:29):
So anyway, Yeah, it's gonna be it's gonna be tough
for time to you know, be able to do it.
But they'll they'll feed them, spoon feed them all the answers.
But we are we're gonna lose some cool access that
we might have got some players, some cool interviews that
they and some cool nuggets that we might have only
gotten because of time because they like they're cool with them.
Speaker 2 (31:45):
They trust him these time, last call, last Calls and.
Speaker 1 (31:50):
Kelvin because you couldn't get into trash them earlier. Here's
your chance, well, at.
Speaker 2 (31:54):
Least trash me the other. Yeah, I just want to
trash Kelvin Washing.
Speaker 4 (31:58):
Oh right, yeah, because he's he's not you like, what
was that a ready?
Speaker 1 (32:04):
Well?
Speaker 5 (32:04):
But he went out and he said that I was
smart and faun. We know he goes to usc E
Edinburgh School of Journalism.
Speaker 2 (32:11):
Smart. What he said, he said you this is the one.
He said, you're funny.
Speaker 4 (32:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (32:15):
Then he said you were respectful all the one.
Speaker 1 (32:18):
Alex, how come you didn't get that clip like like
all the other clips you got me saying Alex.
Speaker 2 (32:23):
Don't get live all this other stuff.
Speaker 8 (32:25):
I mean, you don't know if that's really an employee
of yours or not. I gotta know if that's for sure.
Speaker 4 (32:30):
Because you know how it was a boy here's Alex
because he only said stuff about Rob.
Speaker 2 (32:34):
Rob You're the best that I love you when you're
so respectful, but you're funny. You're handsome guy. I love
it when you're just so great at the radio. And Kelvin,
I just said, Kevin, you did not say anything.
Speaker 3 (32:43):
He couldn't.
Speaker 2 (32:43):
He was like, we said, you're not kid.
Speaker 8 (32:46):
It's funny too. We actually have caller ID and it
said MLB Bros.
Speaker 2 (32:51):
All right, last call Tom. It is a couple. Fox
Sports Radio, Rob Parker, Kelvin Washington. Who's that? And stay?
Speaker 8 (32:59):
If you want to be the last call in the
US of A.
Speaker 9 (33:01):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Chris Brussard and Rob Parker weekdays at seven pm
Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the
iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 5 (33:12):
Fox Sports Radio Couple, Rob Kelvin Wasson. You know what
the absolute funniest part about this, Rob G is, let me.
Speaker 2 (33:19):
Be Rob Parker. Hey, Rob G, Hey, can you gotta
come in here?
Speaker 6 (33:23):
Man?
Speaker 5 (33:23):
Switch the TV so I don't turn all the way
around and watch the other one.
Speaker 4 (33:26):
And then you've got a TV right you, And you
do and still turn all the way around so all
I see is the back of your head while you're
looking at TV over there. What was the point Elizah
went through all that in the CD here for Eliza
and Malian HALion.
Speaker 1 (33:42):
You cannot get picked off second base in this situation.
Speaker 2 (33:45):
That's as bad as it's I would have just alight
strike you out. Hey, Man, put the TV on here,
I'm still let the head turn, all right, I gotta
read it. Then we get the last call.
Speaker 5 (33:55):
We're broadcasting liverontirereck dot Com studios. Of course, by the way, way, uh,
tire rack dot com is gonna help you get there

Speaker 1 (34:24):
Brandon and Riverside. You're on the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio. Last Call time. You're the last call.
Speaker 10 (34:31):
All right, what's going on? Guys? You know I love
the show.
Speaker 2 (34:34):
Thank you, appreciate you real quick.
Speaker 10 (34:37):
Calvin, you know how it is with Rob. Rob is
that guy you go out with you end up having
to fight because he said some cruises to the person.
Speaker 2 (34:44):
Man, you just hang in there one hundred percent.
Speaker 5 (34:47):
Hey, Hey, that's why I'm out here working out doing
my What was I doing in the studio yesterday, Rob,
You're gonna be on.
Speaker 2 (34:52):
Here doing this sit I was doing. I'm just listening.
Speaker 5 (34:55):
I'm trying to get right because I already know I'm
gonna have to knock somebody out just on his behalf.
Speaker 10 (34:59):
It's gonna be but real quick, man. You know, I'm
just stuck to that Jerry Jones with that man like,
I know your seeing his scene sucked because of him, right,
and now you want to he want to flex his
CEO power or half. Well, I don't know how much
he owned on the radio station, but I heard that
he made that guy whoever that was, he choked up
(35:21):
his words. He was actually like kind of nervous, like,
oh man, I'm really pissed off Jerry Jones, and my
job is in jey very unprofessional. And if he's just
saying I know he's not gonna lose his job. But
if he did, I believe that's a lawsuit waiting to
happen because he was doing his job.
Speaker 5 (35:42):
Why do you think he's not going to lose his job?
I'm curious, why why do you think he's not? Jerry
made it point. He literally they laughed and he said,
we didn't play this part they went and he said, no,
I'm not laughing.
Speaker 2 (35:54):
I'm serious.
Speaker 10 (35:55):
Right, that was a nervous laugh. I was nervous for him,
and I was like, man, that's that's something. But Jerry Jones,
shame on here. I hope the Cowboys lose for the
rest of the year. I listen to you guys tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (36:08):
All right, appreciate you man, no doubt about it.
Speaker 5 (36:10):
Out to Riverside, Yeah, I mean Jerry what he was like, like,
they kind of laughed it off. I'll come on, Jerry,
you know how. He was like, no, I'm not laughing.
I'm dead serious. Like, oh shoot, yeah, I didn't like that.
Speaker 1 (36:20):
Man, Nah, you don't. You don't need to do that.
That's just flexing your muscles. Don't go on the show
if you don't want to be asked questions. It was
a fair us just everybody. It's just it's everybody's so sensitive.
This is what I'm talking about.
Speaker 2 (36:32):
The new media.
Speaker 1 (36:33):
People want to control. They want people that they're comfortable with,
people who are going to ask them toss them softball questions.
That that's my issue. There's no pushback. People get to
say whatever they want. To say, and and nobody's saying
not have to attack you, but can I ask you questions?
And then you have a right to like them or
you know, dislike it, or or say you don't want
(36:55):
to answer it, or whatever it may be.
Speaker 2 (36:57):
But that's the end of it.
Speaker 5 (36:59):
Yeah, big hit there by the way, for the for
the Yankees just got another run. It's gonna it's gonna
be a tight one right here, by the way, this
game bottom of six for four to two.
Speaker 2 (37:08):
This one. Yeah, Jerry Jones, I mean.
Speaker 1 (37:10):
Jerry's jailed out, Jazz Chisholm. He just bailed them out
getting picked off. Yep, for sure. Uh yeah, Jerry Jones.
Be Jerry Jones is jerrying. And at some point we're
all just tired of it. All of us are tired
of it. We had to deal with this, And a
lot of people were saying the same thing, like I'm
not rude, Like I don't hope the Cowboys get a
single victory the rest of the season because of that.
There's I think there's a tired of the Cowboys period,
(37:31):
but be because of stunts like this.
Speaker 2 (37:32):
A lot of people are saying that don't.
Speaker 1 (37:34):
Forget Tomorrow is a worship Wednesday like that, Are we
changing it tomorrow?
Speaker 4 (37:42):
Either Wednesday, that's money, that's right,
