(01:13):
at the bottom of the hour. We have a lot
to get you even with this hour. And Carrie, I
know you are like, I mean, you're so excited. Hey,
you're so thrilled your life changed. What happened when the
news dropped today? What news that Travis Kelcey as Taylor
(01:33):
Swift to meet him at the altar.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
He got down on his knee. I don't know if
he a little beat.
Speaker 1 (01:39):
Up for training camp in preseason, but he got down
on his knee and he proposed, uh uh, me and
me at the altar, Taylor and yo my dress?
Speaker 2 (01:49):
Huh?
Speaker 1 (01:50):
And she said yes, And they made a beautiful little
post about it, which I'm gonna bring Shaye in here
in a minute to get to that post.
Speaker 2 (01:59):
But this was the.
Speaker 1 (02:00):
News, and you know, I do a morning news show here.
I'm the morning anchor Spectrum News one in LA. Just
got done wrapping the show. We had a little post
show meeting and then I walk in the newsroom.
Speaker 2 (02:11):
And everyone's like, they did it, he did it. He
did it. I'm like, oh, shoot, what what did President
Trump do?
Speaker 1 (02:16):
What a Governor Gavin news some dude and they're like, no,
Travis just proposed, and I'm like and then the whole
thing turned into a bet. Carrie turned it over under
two years, you know Follway last and I said, you
know what, I believe in their love, Carrie. I think
this is the long haul. I think they're gonna make you.
But with that being said, Shay, give us the breakdown
(02:37):
how we even got here with Travis and Taylor.
Speaker 4 (02:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (02:41):
Before I tell you guys about the engagement, I got
to tell you guys how it started. The most important
thing in sports in the last three years. I mean, hey,
we're talking about it and NFL starts in a week,
so I think this matters.
Speaker 4 (02:51):
Guys.
Speaker 5 (02:52):
Let's go back to September fourteenth, twenty twenty three. What
do you think happened? Then, well, I'll tell you what happened.
Speaker 4 (02:57):
Oh man.
Speaker 5 (02:58):
His brother Jason Kelsey was asked about the relationship between
Travis Kelsey and pop star Taylor Swift, where Tony Gonzalez asked,
is this a real thing? Jason Kelsey goes, some things
don't have to be said, and that's the first time
speculations were happening. And then September twenty fourth, twenty twenty three.
(03:21):
Maybe a week or so later, on Sunday in a
stadium we watched it begin Swift was spotted on the
bleachers in a sweet sitting beside Kelsey's mom, Donna. That's
the first time we had that coverage and oh, everyone
was so happy to see her in Say.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
It was turned up from then on.
Speaker 5 (03:36):
And then we move on to November eleventh, twenty twenty three,
So a couple of months, Taylor Swift changes the lyrics
to Karma too. I don't know if you guys remember this.
To Karma is the guy on the Chiefs coming straight
home to me. This was a pretty big deal within
social media.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
Say, I'm going to have you fast forward this dig
up in the last couple of events.
Speaker 5 (03:55):
And then in August eleventh, twenty twenty five, we have
the New Heights podcast, and not even two weeks later, endgame,
they are finally engaged in putting a post out saying
your favorite gym teacher and uh English teacher are getting married.
Speaker 4 (04:12):
Yeah that.
Speaker 2 (04:15):
So there we are. So I'm gonna start with you. Ye.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
One thing I laugh at is that Travis Kelsey saying, man,
you know I was doing too much last year. I
might have been a little distracted, I admitted, I'm locked
in on focused exactly well, about to propose or proposing,
and about to get married and have to plan. Maybe
the biggest wedding of the earth is gonna also be
distracted by man. I've been married, I am married, I
went through the proposal, and I am one one hundredth
(04:41):
the you know, fame of him in one one millionth
of the failing of her, And I can only imagine.
Speaker 2 (04:47):
What it might take for him to purpual with all
of that. So who knows.
Speaker 1 (04:49):
Maybe he's just gonna be his last ride this year,
retire to this year, and then they focus on the wedding.
But trying to say, I'm you know, I've been distracted, Carrie,
this is this is adding to that.
Speaker 6 (05:00):
Is feel this is adding field to the fire one
hundred percent. But let me just say this, man, Okay,
we'll say it. I love love. If it's real, it's pure,
and they're happy, kudos to them. But I just don't
feel that that's it. You don't think so, No, you
just talked about it. Travis Kelce was in GQ saying
(05:22):
I'm not gonna come with any distractions this year, I'm
coming to play. I didn't play well last year. I'm
gonna turn a new leaf. I'm gonna cut down on
the distractions. And then you announce the same day on
NFL Cut Day that you're engaged to the biggest pop
star in the world. That's gonna bring a lot more
attention to you, and you're gonna be more than anything
(05:44):
talking about this relationship, but not about what you're doing
on the field. So this is just a little another
cover up type situation, another whip in his radar in
my opinion. And again, you know this and I know this.
They've probably been engaged for a couple of weeks already,
so for them to drop it today's strategic. Everything about
(06:04):
what they do and what they represent just feels it
feels forced, and it feels like it's feels like there's
a lot of strategy behind everything there that I.
Speaker 2 (06:13):
Thought I would see.
Speaker 4 (06:14):
Yeah, I am he no hat I know I said it.
Speaker 6 (06:17):
I said I said it first said I said I
love love first I do.
Speaker 2 (06:22):
I don't want to hear I don't want to hear
any more of your songs.
Speaker 6 (06:24):
To I don't know I love it, I love love
If they are. If they are in love and it's
happy and it's real, then that's probably.
Speaker 1 (06:30):
Do you keep saying if because I have to they
are okay, take them for their word.
Speaker 6 (06:35):
I am, but all I can say is from where
I'm coming from. If it's love, cool, But you don't
do this right now, right when the season is about
to start and you're on your comeback, your comeback trail,
and I'm about to blaze and set the league on
fire again, and you dropped it.
Speaker 2 (06:51):
I don't want to hear Kell my nerve.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
Baby, maybe this is the fuel to the fire so
he can he can win a super Bowl. The n
be like, no, I did it for you?
Speaker 2 (07:07):
Yeah, maybe no. I listen, I brought it up for
a reason.
Speaker 1 (07:10):
I do find that hilarious that he's like, I'm about
to lock in and I'm not quite listen. I know,
I'm sure he's in the gym. I'm sure he's working
out one hundred gym. But I'm sure he's in the
field working out, he's training. I'm not questioning that. But
it is interests hilarious that we hear that. In the
next thing, I know you're proposing and you know, making
this public display to the biggest pop star in the world.
So that is a contrast right there, or at least,
you know, a little hypocrisy in that regard. But so
(07:32):
let me ask you this before. I do have a
list of some other great athletes with entertainers. We'll get
to that in a minute. How does this work in
the locker room? Do they really not care? Like seriously,
like they just like the Obviously there's been two and
a half years of it now whatever it's been, so
we're used to it. But on the other end, is
(07:53):
it a distraction locker room? Are we the public making
a bigger thing of it? They don't really care.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
You I got my girl, you got your girl, you
got it was.
Speaker 1 (08:00):
One thing I do like about Taylor is she as
famous as she is, she tries to be as normal
as possible. Again heavy on that as possible, meaning she
can't just be the Taylor who works at you know,
all State. But you know, she tried, like I just
show up to the game. She's into it like a fan.
She's not like acting like some weird secluded we always.
Speaker 2 (08:21):
Happened to fore.
Speaker 1 (08:21):
I'm in them sweets with everybody else. Mama and girlfriends
having the time of my life supporting them, Like, I
kind of liked that. I like the way Lebron has
raised his children. Obviously they're the james Is, but we
all been.
Speaker 2 (08:33):
Kind of rocky with the James like we knew him.
Speaker 1 (08:34):
They didn't hide them, they didn't put blankets over their face,
they didn't act like we're They just were kids. They
just kids, went to school and they were at the
movies with dad and dad's playing video games. But they
try to make their life as normal as possible, considering
your life is not as normal as possible, right, So
I do like that Taylor has kind of conducted herself
in that way. But how is the locker room with that?
Speaker 2 (08:54):
Do they care? Is that we make a bigger deal
or is it really a thing?
Speaker 6 (08:57):
No, in the locker room, you'll definitely hear about it,
and there will be some, you know, a few jabs
here and there and playful jabs, and there is talking
chatter about it. But again, it's been how long it's
been now, two years, a couple of years, a couple
of years now, it's it's all. It's all kind of
pass at this point, it's done. But yeah, in the beginning,
it's always kind of a thing like you heard you
heard so and so's dating and so and so, and
(09:18):
it's it happens. It's definitely chatter. Those those locker rooms
can get can can really get to a point where
you're like, hey, man, mind your business.
Speaker 2 (09:28):
I was gonna say, let me ask you this.
Speaker 1 (09:30):
If they start off slow, and especially him, maybe in
particular where it's just supposed to be a comeback year,
and I acknowledge some things that I didn't play where
I wasn't locked in, and if they're in a situation
I don't.
Speaker 2 (09:40):
I never expect him to be bad. That's just impossible.
Speaker 1 (09:42):
I think when you have Andy Reid and and Patrick Mahomes,
but maybe they're just not clicking. Mean, they're winning games,
but ah, he's dropped a pass or two. He's just
we're not there. But we're winning, but we didn't want
to win like last year when we're barely winning. Does
someone throw that in his face? There's no question? Yes,
I mean I don't even have to think about that one.
Speaker 7 (10:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (10:02):
It's the whole thing about the NFL and sports in general.
Speaker 6 (10:05):
You want to keep your personal life outside of it, right,
and with this situation, there's no outside of it, right,
because we're dropping on Adam Schefter said, you know, tweeted
about oh it's official the fifty three man cut and tailor,
you know, like it's they didn't went to fifty four right, right,
it's it's it's it's not avoidable. It's right, it's not avoidable. So, yes,
(10:28):
you want to keep that stuff out of the locker room.
You want to have as much as less baggage as
you can and concentrate on the games because when you don't,
they point to it.
Speaker 4 (10:37):
Man, they use it. It's part of part of the fodder,
for sure.
Speaker 1 (10:41):
I have a list of some other great athletes with
entertainers spouses or partners and girlfriend would have you all right,
and I'm gonna throw that at you. And I also
want to open up the phone calls twofold one. We
have a little fun with it. If you're if you're
you know how you feel about it. Also too, if
you believe this is counterintuitive to what he was saying,
(11:04):
where he's saying he's trying to lock in and be focused,
and then to drop this on us as well. Eight
seven seven ninety nine on Fox, Do you believe that
the chiefs.
Speaker 2 (11:11):
Have done enough?
Speaker 1 (11:12):
To have a turnaround season, specifically offensively and explosive wise.
They won fifteen games, got back to the super Bowl,
so we can't knock that.
Speaker 2 (11:21):
And this is what I have to remind Rob Parker
every day.
Speaker 1 (11:24):
Is like, dude, you're acting like they didn't make it
to the super Bowl and have a chance to win
it all. You know, he acts like they were ten
and seven and barely made a wild card or something.
I'm like, dude, they were fifteen and two. They were
ten and zero in all those close games, and there's
a reason behind that. His name is Patrick Mahons.
Speaker 6 (11:40):
But Calvin Patrick didn't do anything.
Speaker 2 (11:44):
His numbers were.
Speaker 4 (11:45):
Like Aaron Rodgers.
Speaker 2 (11:46):
There you go. If you didn't bring up Aaron Rodgers,
they wasn't gonna be Rob Parker.
Speaker 1 (11:51):
You did it right there, eight seven, seven ninety nine
on Fox again. Do you think that the Chiefs have
done enough to turn this thing around? You buy into
Travis Kelsey being able to have a bounce back and
will this be a distraction or maybe as not, maybe
it won't be. We want to hear from you and
when we also come back, I'm gonna throw out some
couples that are big name entertainers as well as athletes
(12:11):
out there who some have gone a long time, Carrie Rose,
and have made it. They stood the test of time,
Carrie Roads. We'll do that next to Stiacouple eight seven
seven ninety nine, Oh Fox, stick with you boys, Fox

Speaker 4 (14:23):
I felt attacked. I'm just saying.
Speaker 1 (14:25):
Listen, I'm gonna say it takes one to know one.
So I knew that you knew that. I knew that
you knew that I knew because we're both going through
it out here in the streets. Brother boy, this age
and after play in sports. You know, me being profet okay,
not professional, mebe you know a church league champ.
Speaker 2 (14:41):
You being in the pros for all those years?
Speaker 4 (14:43):
Hey they count, they count?
Speaker 2 (14:45):
Hey, all right, So let's get back to this. We
were talking about half having fun with Travis Kelsey and
Taylor Screen.
Speaker 1 (14:50):
But I do think there is a football context of this,
just more so what do we expect from the Chiefs. Also,
Travis Kelsey, he's been claiming it's going to be the
redemption year to bounce back season. Can that happen when
you say no more distractions? But you just got engaged
to the maybe the second most popular person on the
world aside from the Pope.
Speaker 2 (15:08):
Actually not take that back. He's too new this. I'm
gonna say her. Beyonce. No, I don't think Beyonce's a head.
Speaker 4 (15:17):
Not anymore. I don't think so either.
Speaker 2 (15:19):
Yeah, I think. I think.
Speaker 1 (15:20):
I think she notched her Mary because she got the
regime of not only that, the regime of the twelve
year olds.
Speaker 2 (15:27):
I don't think all.
Speaker 1 (15:28):
They're right there. If you say Beyonce, I'm not mad
at you. If you say Taylor, they're right there. So
they're kind of neck and neck. Absolutely, two Americas.
Speaker 4 (15:38):
We up?
Speaker 2 (15:38):
How about that? We up? And the pope is American?
Speaker 4 (15:42):
Were that's right? Chicago, right, yep?
Speaker 2 (15:44):
We are. We are a big up, all right. So
I want to take some calls.
Speaker 1 (15:47):
Before we get to the calls real quick, I want
to throw some names out you all right out there.
So now you have Travis and Taylor, but you also
have some massive ones as well. So let's start with yo,
Wayne Wade and Gabrielle Union. No, not saying bigger than
but that's a big one. They're married, they've gone a
long time, yes, yes, yes, Gisell.
Speaker 2 (16:09):
Punching and Tom Brady.
Speaker 4 (16:12):
Well if this was four years ago, yes.
Speaker 2 (16:14):
Oh yeah, Well that one didn't last but that was
that one was that was one. Another one that didn't last,
but it was one for a little while. Jennifer Lopez
and a Rod that was one.
Speaker 4 (16:23):
That was one.
Speaker 1 (16:24):
Yep, folks that are still lasting. Kate Upton and Justin Verlander.
That's still landing.
Speaker 4 (16:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (16:32):
Uh, then you get into some other ones.
Speaker 1 (16:33):
You got let's stay in the NFL, and let's say
this one is a less popular version, but a very
popular one. Sierra and Russell Wilson. That's a good one.
That's a good one.
Speaker 2 (16:44):
That they got kids. It's lasting.
Speaker 4 (16:47):
That's my tap. Hey, they look, they look, they look
they look in love too.
Speaker 2 (16:51):
Now they look in love and they look like that's
a great looking couple. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (16:55):
Let me throw another one at you here. David and
Victoria Beckham. Oh that's royalty as well. That's royalty. They
have stood the test of time, you I mean you're
talking about twenty plus years.
Speaker 6 (17:04):
I mean yes, yes, and both had their own own
individual success on a real, real, real high level too,
was out a doubt.
Speaker 4 (17:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (17:13):
So yeah, just looking at some of these, you know, uh,
there's some other ones out there, but uh, some of
them are athlete and athlete too, so you know, you
get the Mia Ham and nor Mar Garcia Para, you
got Leila League Curtis Conway.
Speaker 2 (17:28):
But yeah, so there's some there's some hope out there.
Don't forget DK metcalf DK and.
Speaker 1 (17:34):
Singer Yes, Normani, right, that just happened over the last
handful of months from.
Speaker 4 (17:40):
Marsi Martin is dating some F one player who mar
sig Marin. She was in Blackish.
Speaker 1 (17:46):
Well, not to mention Donovan Mitchell, Donovan Mitchell and Coco
Jones Coco, yep.
Speaker 2 (17:51):
But some of these folks got ten years in the game.
Speaker 1 (17:55):
So all right, so there are some other couples some
hope right there, Carrie that you don't believe in them.
Speaker 6 (18:00):
No, understand to believe in them. I just said I
didn't believe in Taylor, And there you go.
Speaker 1 (18:05):
All right, let's get some calls A seven seven ninety
nine on Fox. Let's see who we got here. Let's
go to George in Phoenix. George, you're with the odd
couple Fox Sports. What's up, George?
Speaker 9 (18:16):
Hey, what's up? Guys?
Speaker 5 (18:17):
Thank you, long time ISH listener, thank you.
Speaker 4 (18:20):
What's up George?
Speaker 2 (18:21):
No doubt, George, what's up?
Speaker 7 (18:22):
So so, Pamela and Tommy Lee I mean that's.
Speaker 2 (18:27):
Just well, that's it. That's that is one.
Speaker 9 (18:30):
Go ahead, Tommy Lee.
Speaker 7 (18:33):
I'm favored because I'm Greek and he's half Greek.
Speaker 9 (18:35):
Only the good side.
Speaker 10 (18:38):
Pamela, I mean you can't mess.
Speaker 1 (18:41):
I mean no, that was a great poll. The only
thing I will say is because he was entertainer. Entertainer,
so we we we do get that a lot for sure,
trying to look more fleet entertainers. But yeah, that that one.
Speaker 2 (18:51):
Man mean, and they kind of are the original. We
made a tape and that you.
Speaker 1 (18:55):
Know, the O G tape got out there in them streets.
All right, George, thank you so much. We appreciate you.
Let's go to Dalvin and Michigan and the mitting there. Dalvin,
you're on with the Eye couple five Sports radio. What's
up Dalvon?
Speaker 7 (19:08):
What's good with man Motown in the place to be?
Speaker 2 (19:11):
What up do I just did the boss up to?
By the way, go ahead?
Speaker 7 (19:17):
Three comments on the one about Kansas City, the other
one about the wedding.
Speaker 9 (19:23):
And then the last one is about Kapelnick.
Speaker 7 (19:25):
First of all, for Kansas City, Bo, you don't even
have a doubt their pedigree.
Speaker 9 (19:31):
Of course they want to bounce back their.
Speaker 7 (19:32):
Pedigree is just that high breed.
Speaker 9 (19:36):
They are the Blue Ribbons Blue Ribbon.
Speaker 7 (19:39):
High Breed winners, so of course they.
Speaker 9 (19:41):
Want to be able to bounce back. If not this year,
they'll be back in condition next year, but they will
be back.
Speaker 1 (19:47):
I'm with you on that, Delvin. When Rob comes back,
you can argue with Rob. I'm with you.
Speaker 9 (19:51):
Yeah, let's let's go to the wedding.
Speaker 7 (19:53):
Please don't take this personal, this comment.
Speaker 9 (19:56):
That is going to be one of the lame extings,
one of the.
Speaker 7 (20:02):
I'm a swift And what's the getting married?
Speaker 1 (20:11):
You're not, you're not. Don't try to do that because Dalvin,
here's the thing. I'm with you in that.
Speaker 9 (20:18):
Married.
Speaker 1 (20:19):
No, no, no, Dalvin, here's here's the thing. Though you're still there, Dalvin.
All right, well here's the three. I don't mind if
the man gets married. I got married. Other people getting
Dalvin might be married. The conversation and again we had
it half tug, you know, tug and cheek was around
him saying, no distraction.
Speaker 4 (20:37):
Exactly.
Speaker 2 (20:38):
That was it, Dallas. Not that he's given.
Speaker 1 (20:39):
It was that he himself said, I got I was
doing too much. I had this going on, I had
this going I gotta lock in and I gotta focus.
So that was the conversation, not that just simply somebody
anybody get married as we speak. I'm sure as a
player getting married this weekend, and the league picked the league.
Speaker 2 (20:54):
It was more so him saying.
Speaker 1 (20:55):
I gotta lock in, and his wedding ain't the same
as stream cornerback wedding. His wedding the same as wide receiver.
His thing is a thing. Him just getting engaged took
over all the conversations. So that's why I don't necessarily
agree with dalvid. It is that this is just a
normal wedding. Travis Kelsey and Taylor ain't normal, and I was.
(21:16):
And we only referenced in him saying I'm about to
lock in and folks exactly. All right, let's go to Jeor.
I already did, George. Let's go to Dominic and Milwaukee.
We'll go the last one here Dominque Milwaukee. You're on
with thet couple of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 10 (21:28):
Okay, first of all, I think it's awesome, But second
of all, what's more distracting.
Speaker 11 (21:32):
Him doing it now?
Speaker 3 (21:33):
For him being asked the.
Speaker 10 (21:34):
Whole season when he's gonna do it like I think,
doing it now and gave it up and out of
the way. Now, he ken, I think it's gonna be
a point of focus.
Speaker 2 (21:43):
Can I argue that it?
Speaker 1 (21:45):
Can I argue that if this is gonna be his
last season, he could have did it then at the end.
Speaker 10 (21:52):
Do it though, because it's the whole point that he
would be asked the whole season about him and Taylor
bed are you gonna get a ring? Are you gonna ask?
Are you gonna this? Are you get to that outs
out there?
Speaker 4 (22:01):
Dominic? Was that already in the air?
Speaker 2 (22:04):
Was that in here? That me? Neither?
Speaker 4 (22:05):
What's what's? Questions already been asked about that?
Speaker 10 (22:07):
I think it would have been continued the longer there together,
the more there. It's just like when you the first
with the girl and your mom starts bothering.
Speaker 2 (22:14):
You ain't lying about that.
Speaker 1 (22:16):
You ain't lying about that, Dominic I'll give you that, brother,
You ain't lying about that.
Speaker 2 (22:20):
That's the truth, all right? Is anything else, Dominice?
Speaker 9 (22:25):
That's all right?
Speaker 2 (22:26):
I feel you well listen, he asked her.
Speaker 1 (22:29):
And and now the questions would be wins the wedding,
da Dad, you know it's it's still gonna be questions.
Speaker 2 (22:34):
Yeah, ain't nobody listen.
Speaker 1 (22:35):
It's like it's like fifty say it's gonna be twenty
one question man, man, and all right, appreciate the cause
everybody as always Right now, we're gonna go to Chris Perfect.
Speaker 2 (22:44):
He is gonna get you the Uh what is trendy?
Speaker 11 (22:47):
I was?
Speaker 2 (22:48):
I was? He knailed at that time, that's what from
But man nailing it all day? I don't know.
Speaker 4 (22:52):
Yeah, you know what. Good point?
Speaker 3 (22:53):
Good point.
Speaker 12 (22:54):
All right, let's get you caught up. What's going around
in the world of sports. It is NFL cut down
day was. As we have been talking here on this show.
Tommy DeVito is waived the end of cutlets in New
York and New Jersey, so we can forget about it.
You can forget about it now. You can forget about
him now. I will never forget about him.
Speaker 4 (23:14):
He was a I have one of his.
Speaker 12 (23:15):
I bought his throwback jersey after he beat the Packers.
Instantly bought it, Instantly bought it. I will always have
that in the vodka chicken parm sandwiches. That's my people,
that's my people. The Seahawks are releasing veteran wide receiver
Marquez Valdez Scantling also being released more receivers around the league.
Pro bowler Hunter Renfro being released by the Panthers. Packers
(23:39):
are releasing Mikole Hardman as well. Dylan Gabriel being named
the number two Browns quarterback by coach Kevin Stefanski. Shitter
Sanders can dress as the emergency third quarterback as necessary.
Eagles linebacker Nakobe Dean posted see All Week five on
his Instagram, seems to indicate he'll start the season on
the pop list and miss the first four games as
he recovers from a torn patent. Hell Texan safety Jimmy
(24:01):
Ward was placed on the Commissioner's exempt list on Tuesday.
This all stemming from allegations of a domestic violence civil
suit that was revealed last Thursday. The US Open is underway.
Cocoa Goff is in her third set right now. Niamo
Osaka took down Men Agree in straight sets. Igoswiyantic advances
(24:22):
on straight sets. Yannick Center defeats vit Kolprava in three sets.
Currently the baseball scoreboard. Right now, let's take a look
around the league. The Rangers kicking but on the Angels
six to zero. Bottom of the fifth inning, the White
Sox top of the eighth with a four to zero
lead on the Royals, the Mets in the middle of
the seventh with the five to three lead on the Phillies,
(24:43):
and carries Yankees with a five to one lead on
the Nationals bottom of the seventh inning. I have to
get it in there, otherwise you'll come in here and
ask me what are the Yankees doing? What's going on
with them? What's going on with Cody Bellinger? He's got
two runs. There, there's your Yankees updates. Forget about it.
We're gonna keep keep making this even more Italian. Here
Braves bottom of the ninth inning, eleven to two on
(25:04):
the Marlins. Carrie and Kelvin back to you guys.
Speaker 2 (25:08):
Have a great night. Chris, thank you so much. Man.
Speaker 1 (25:09):
It's Theacople, Kevin Washington, Carrie Rose in for Rob on
this trash talking Tuesday, and I want to get to
something we hadn't had a chance to get to because
I was always breaking new stuff was going on. And
by the way, ak e stiff back joints not cooperating,
as Carrie and I both talked about.
Speaker 2 (25:24):
We know about this. Some days your body, my body,
his are like, nah, this ain't the day. Brother.
Speaker 1 (25:29):
Luckily there's a leave with just one pill of the
lead provides up to twelve hours of paying release, so
you can keep moving use as directed.
Speaker 2 (25:34):
All right, I want to go to this one Arch Manning.
Speaker 1 (25:38):
Everybody was just so he's going to be the number
one pick, and he's just going to be that, and
people are losing, you know, losing for Arch next year,
and well he comes out, is Archie his grandfather says, hey, man,
I don't think he's gonna actually, you know, he's gonna
come out after next year. And then arch comes out
and says, hey, I don't know. I'm just trying to
take a game, but you know, a week by week
(25:59):
and the whole thing. I don't know what I'm gonna
do yet. I don't know where Graham's got that from,
but most got a lot of folks who are indicators
are saying that he is not gonna come out. I
don't expect him to come out unless he absolutely goes bananas, kid,
I mean he goes, you know, I don't know. Thirteen
and one wins the Natty Heisman trou like where there's
(26:20):
all right, nod, there's nothing else to do, like, get
the heck out of here, what are we doing? But
if he has a really good season, but I expect
him to have that, you know, whatever that looks like,
if you lose the two or three makes the college
football playoff, whatever it may be.
Speaker 2 (26:31):
I don't expect him to leave a couple of reasons.
Excuse me.
Speaker 1 (26:35):
Number one, there's just no necessity, right, He's not in
the need for money. He comes from money. Literally, everybody's
family got money, right. My granddaddy was an NFL. My
uncles or potentially all the famous ELI shouldn't be But
he'll get in that story for another day. And and
he's he's also from the legacy, and like the bread,
like we are bred as quarterbacks in this family, and
(26:58):
we all want to have story.
Speaker 2 (27:00):
College matters, legacy matters. You know, we know what.
Speaker 1 (27:06):
Peyton means a Tennessee. We know what Eli means old miss.
We know what Archie means old miss. We now know
and hope, punchingly, we'll see what arch means the Texas.
Texas is a big school of blue blood. I just
think that matters to the Manning family, right, like having
your name cemented in college football? Yeah, I know, transfer
portals and nils and blah blah blah. But for the
(27:27):
Manning family, it's a different family. It's built on legacy,
It's built on those types of things. So I expect
him to want to be there, participate until he feels ready.
Speaker 2 (27:35):
So I think he'll get two years there. We saw
him last year.
Speaker 1 (27:38):
I think it was nine interceptions or nine touchdowns, A
couple of interceptions, almost a thousand yards played.
Speaker 2 (27:43):
In a handful of games.
Speaker 1 (27:44):
Look good. Some things he's still left to be desired. Obviously,
you didn't get to play a lot, so you know,
I'm sure he worked on those things during the offseason
and is locked and loaded ready for this big game
versus Ohio State. It's really a great game to kick
off college football. But I expect him to stay. I said,
sands for it. A ridiculous Vince Young type of season,
you know, uh, Tim Tebow type of see where you're like,
(28:06):
all right, bro, you got to go, there's nothing left
Joe Burrow type of season.
Speaker 2 (28:09):
Yea, And I think he wants to build on that.
Am I am?
Speaker 11 (28:11):
I am?
Speaker 2 (28:12):
I crazy? You feel me? Are you a different?
Speaker 3 (28:14):
No?
Speaker 2 (28:14):
No, I agree with you.
Speaker 6 (28:15):
I mean, there's no need for him to rush that
process at all. I mean, enjoy college. He's getting paid
like a pro already anyway. And you talked about talk
about his family, I mean not even his family. He's
getting paid like like a pro right now in college.
So enjoy the college life. I'm sure he will. I'm
sure he's been schooled on all that already by everybody
in his family. And so for him, yeah, just enjoy
(28:36):
the college process. He means in Texas, in Austin, nice city,
nice town, nice town, to win, play football at you know,
arch arch arch his own career, so to speak, you
know what I mean, and and have a chance to
see ment his own legacy. I don't think he's in
a rush man. And and for him, he is such
a beautiful place to win and to play at. If
(28:57):
you go to a team that gets number one and
it's a terrible city, then you're going into a terrible situation,
terrible organization, which we know the Mannings will not let
that happen anyway. So for him to avoid any of
that right now, just stay in college, have fun, and
we get a chance to see it early Texas versus
Ohio State game one. Get to see what arts is
all about man, so I'm excited to see what happens.
Speaker 2 (29:19):
Yeah, and there's the other thing too, you just mentioned
it being where he is being in Texas too.
Speaker 1 (29:25):
Plus I think there's an element we saw it happened
with his uncle and that eli kind of I don't
want to go to San Diego.
Speaker 2 (29:32):
I don't want to play there.
Speaker 1 (29:33):
So I think there's an element of him being like,
all right, let me kind of gauge and keep.
Speaker 2 (29:38):
An eye out. That's what teams. Yeah, some of them.
Speaker 1 (29:41):
I feeling you, some of these teams are so bad
that I think ultimately he'll be like, you know, two
thirds of the way through the season, you know, you
keeping an eye on.
Speaker 2 (29:50):
Who's doing what for sure, you're like, oh, I don't
want to go play there.
Speaker 1 (29:54):
I don't want to be a part of that organization, right,
I don't want to go join in with Dylan Gabriel
and Shador and you know all that they got going
over there in Cleveland. So I think there's a part
of him that it would keep it in an eye
what's going on. He and his father's team, his grandfather,
his uncle. Everybody will be watching that and saying, unless
something insanely miraculous opens up, you know, some weird thing
(30:15):
where maybe Pittsburgh type of a team where it's a
good stable place to be obviously, you know, and Aaron
Rodgers is going to retire and they end up being
three or four and whatever, and somehow it's like exactly, well,
I'm not mad at that, you know, I'm not mad
at landing there or something. I don't know, some perfect
situation where you're like, all right, that's interesting. Other than that,
(30:37):
there's no real rush to me, man, And would I
would advise teams go out there and try to win. Now,
there's some other top quarterbacks that should be coming out.
They should be saying it's going to be a quarterback
heavy draft next year, or at least with the prospects
sitting here today.
Speaker 2 (30:51):
Obviously, the season has to play itself out.
Speaker 1 (30:53):
But if you're a team, I don't think you want
to sit you up there and put yourself in a
position to lose four fill in the blank.
Speaker 2 (30:58):
I don't think that's just a good look.
Speaker 4 (31:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (31:01):
No, again, this guy has he has too much training
and too much wherewithal and too much you know, he
has too many people in his ears that has been
that have been there, so he won't be in the rush,
and he will make the best decision based off of himself.
And I think that's the other part of it too.
It's not just about his family, it's about him. And
you can tell he's a patient kid. And he went
(31:22):
to a team and went to a school where he
knew he was gonna have to wait a little bit
to play as well.
Speaker 4 (31:26):
Like this guy is a guy that he's not in
the rush, you know what I mean. He could have
went anywhere.
Speaker 6 (31:30):
He went to Texas where Quinn Ierros was and he
knew he was a guy and set and set and
that's that's that's crazy by for athletes nowadays.
Speaker 2 (31:39):
Yeah, yeah, and Quinn you weres And that's how I
told you.
Speaker 11 (31:41):
I like this.
Speaker 9 (31:42):
I like.
Speaker 1 (31:44):
I like where he is seeing the trajectory in his
career going like I mean, I don't have to rush,
I don't have to be transferred every other year and
doing this and doing that.
Speaker 2 (31:51):
I believe in my talent. I'm gonna believe it.
Speaker 1 (31:54):
You know, when my time comes, I'll put in the
year and a half to two years of greatness and
get where I need to be. I think he can
stand on that. But you talk about yours, man, Man,
one of those backfired me sticking around. Could have been
a mid late, late round, first round pick last year.
If I come out now, I'm gonna come back do better.
And now that's not the case, you know what I mean.
(32:14):
So sometimes that backfires on guys who come back, they
take that next year. I don't think that was Lamar, right,
I know you would know that's your just your guy,
you know, your alma mater.
Speaker 11 (32:25):
Right.
Speaker 6 (32:25):
No, it wasn't team success, yes, but him individually now,
I mean he still went first round obviously, I mean
a little a little slippa, but that year it was
only what two quarterbacks taken?
Speaker 9 (32:36):
Was it?
Speaker 6 (32:36):
Baker first and then Lamar late? Yeah, So I mean
it wasn't like a lot of guys being picked either.
Speaker 4 (32:41):
So he was fine.
Speaker 2 (32:42):
He was in a good situation. But man, I tell
you what, that Manning family. We've done this before where
you start to look at some of the great sports families.
I mean, my goodness.
Speaker 1 (32:51):
You you got obviously the Griffies with King Griffy and
his father, Barry Bonds and his father. You got the
Matthews with Kalay Matthews, A lot of team the Williams,
sisters as well.
Speaker 4 (33:03):
The Watts. The Wats are doing all right.
Speaker 2 (33:06):
The yeah, the Watts exactly, TJ and JJ and so
and so forth.
Speaker 1 (33:09):
But the Manning family, my goodness, yeah, you got generation
generation you about to have grandpa or grandson.
Speaker 6 (33:14):
I mean, and again like all quarterbacks like I mean,
you know, there's the ones where like the Watts are
all over the players, the defense, I mean, not to
watch the Matthew Matthews.
Speaker 4 (33:23):
Yeah, yeah, but I mean quarterbacks. It's crazy.
Speaker 1 (33:27):
I wonder if Serena's daughter and mess around and getting
there too, hey, you know, get it, and I think
she posted you know, her playing a little bit.
Speaker 4 (33:34):
She's already players.
Speaker 1 (33:35):
Yeah, yeah, that'll be interesting too, crazy powerful Pound. The
Williams sisters might be sitting there like of course, who
want to smoke with us?
Speaker 2 (33:43):
The power for pound.
Speaker 4 (33:44):
I'm trying to think like accolades too.
Speaker 1 (33:46):
I don't think anybody, I mean, Eli and Payton have
they have they got they got something to say and
they got four right, they got four yea, they got
something to say in this because one is arguably similar
to Serena you know there, yeah, yeah, you know, one
of the best, one of the Greades. She might be
the greatest, and he might be one of the greatest, and.
Speaker 2 (34:05):
Then Eli would be kind of like Venus really good.
Speaker 1 (34:07):
Yeah, she I think she had the better career, but
him having those two Super Bowls definitely help help him
as well. Yeah, those kind of be the obviously, just
off top of the head, I'm sure I'd be missing
somebody as well, a family, but I like, yeah, some
some royal families there. Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox.

Speaker 1 (35:45):
Let's go to Tree in Chicago. Tree, you are the
last call on the odd couple. Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 11 (35:52):
Man, my god, always a great show. K Man, appreciate you,
Oh absolutely, Man. You are know Carry was a bad
man in the NFL. Uh before I made my own
pleasure before me my point in between the Baker Mayfield Amar,
y'all never forget Donald Alan, that other guy ros In
(36:14):
uh all in between them guys, so they slept on
our boy man. But you know doing, But I wanted
to make more point. Guys. I think I think Arch
is gonna be great.
Speaker 10 (36:24):
Man.
Speaker 11 (36:24):
He got a big uncle Peyton, who was amazing and
uh that was a great point that you made, Kate
the uh. I believe the Mannings are big on like
that legacy. Now we finished where we started, like I
would be surprised if you do the four years. I
believe the man four years so I could see him
following his uncles, following the steps and being great.
Speaker 1 (36:43):
Man.
Speaker 11 (36:43):
I like this kid a lot. At what I've seen
so far, it looks like great news was on the way.
And uh man, I'm looking forward to seeing them man.
And I appreciate you guys thinking to come, no doubt.
Speaker 1 (36:51):
We appreciate you listening. And to add the trees point too,
I think what separates him too from his uncles is
if he's anything remotely as professionals as well, you know,
well read and studied up and locked in, I don't
think he will be quite as good as Peyton throwing
that ball.
Speaker 2 (37:09):
I mean, Peyton is transcendent in that regard. You had
to go up against him, you know.
Speaker 4 (37:12):
That, of course. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (37:13):
But on the flip side here I gonna add yep
them was the most non running quarterbacks we haven't seen,
and him being able to be six four to two
I think thirty whatever, he is big strong and can run.
That to me is an element. I think we'll finally
get to see out of the last two minutes Archie
could run. So he's more like Granddad in that regard.
(37:34):
But you know, as opposed to his uncles, I think
that who are statues?
Speaker 2 (37:39):
You know he he is gonna be.
Speaker 6 (37:41):
Able to move statues is an understatement. Both of those
guys could not move. But uh yeah, arch definitely has
an athletic component to him that they didn't have. Obviously,
if he has any if he's anywhere close to their
throwing ability and specifically Peyton's, he's gonna he's gonna like
light the League on fire and like College on fire man.
(38:03):
So I'm excited to see what he has has has
to offer for sure.
Speaker 1 (38:06):
Dude, all right, I don't remember asking you this, so
I know me and Rob we had big arguments about it.
If if it's like three or four topics we have
biggest debates on regularly or routinely. One of them is
I say, Eli Manning is not a Hall of Famer
by play, but he will be by name. I say
it's because of two names, Manning and Brady. He beat
Brady twice and he's a Manning. That's why he's gonna
(38:28):
get in. But to my surprise, I even blown away
he didn't get in off the bat because I thought,
you know, they're just gonna put him in, and he didn't.
And I Rob g and I have been saying, no,
he shouldn't be in. You know, maybe eventually he'll get
in because of the names. Rob said, Oh, he's absolutely that.
You know, where are you is Eli hall of Famer
to you?
Speaker 2 (38:45):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (38:45):
I was actually actually surprised that Rob said he's a
first ballot Hall of Famer.
Speaker 4 (38:49):
Yeah, I was, like I was, I was really surprised.
I mean, as much as he he hates on.
Speaker 1 (38:53):
Rob, Rob secretly loves New York. Okay, he loves the
hen Aaron Judge. He goes to bed rubbing the picture
of Aaron Judge. Uh, he loves Eli loves he loves
New York. He just tries that I'm unbiased. No, you
love New York?
Speaker 2 (39:08):
Continue?
Speaker 6 (39:08):
Yeah, No, I mean, yes, he's gonna eventually get in
because of because of the names that you just named.
But as far as Eli man, his regular season career
is very very underwhelming. And I like Eli lock really
cool guy. I mean, I know him I know him personally. Obviously,
we played in the same in the same era in
the city, so we've cassed paths quite a bit. But
(39:30):
he's going to get in eventually. But as far as
it being a clear cut Hall of Fame player, he's
not that. And so here's why it gets challenging to
you if you're gonna put him in. And I get it,
he's got the two Super Bowl rings, But at no
point did you go into games game planning for him.
Speaker 2 (39:44):
You game planning for Tiki Barber.
Speaker 1 (39:45):
Yeah, you know, you game plan for maybe the running game,
the defense, you all we got to watch out for
that front four. But you never really game plan for him.
And I have to say that he did have some
good years, of course he did, without a doubt he
he had a good career. But the identity is just
the first ballot Hall of Famer for Cher, Like wait
a minute, hold on now, yeah, because then that means
the guy Rob really hates Matthew Stafford is we all
know he's more talented. He's now a Super Bowl winner,
(40:06):
and he's gonna have better numbers. And that's exactly what
I said the Rob too the other day. I mean,
if if he's a clear cut. That means Matthew Stafford's
a Hall of Famer for sure. Threw him in his
mouth on you. Oh, I know he hates him Statt.
Speaker 4 (40:17):
What do you call him? Stat Patford?
Speaker 9 (40:18):
