You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. Yes, indeed, it is
The Odd Couple, our number three of a three hour show,
and we are live from the tirac dot Com studio
dotirac dot com. We'll help you get there unmatched selection, fast,
free shipping, free road hazard protection, and more than ten
(00:48):
thousand recommended installers tirect dot com. It's the way tire
buying should be. Of course. At the bottom of the hour,
we've got Ti shirts Tower of trivi Via, the segment
that is taken radio by Storm, sometimes called most almost
always but called the Chris Bruce Ared Invitational. But Rob
(01:12):
Parker comes along for the fun. So that is at
the bottom of this hour, and we will get to that.
Rob Milwaukee up fifty eight fifty five or sixty to fifty.
I say, yeah, yeah, you know, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm
about three hours behind, but um sixty to fifty five
Milwaukee and over Philly in Philly and the Yankees, you know,
(01:36):
we're down. We just heard the Monty but they were
down three nothing on a home run by Bregman Chris,
and they played a little small ball and just added
two runs. So it sucks three to two in the
fourth inning, and that was a big They needed those runs,
you know what I mean, because it looked like it
was gonna fall in on them. So it's two and
(01:57):
they no home runs manufactured three to two Astros in
the bottom of the fourth in Houston. Of course tonight
huge game, Lakers, Clippers and robbed. The reports are true.
Chris Haynes broke the story, friend of the show. Now
that's a story. When we talk about sometimes Chris people
getting credit or whatever on these things, just reporting something first,
(02:20):
that's comment, that's going to be common knowledge. That was
something we didn't know was coming. That's he broke the story.
That's a broken story, you know what I mean. He
broke that story. That's great. Um, Kawhi Leonard will be
coming off the bench tonight. Um, I don't know, Rob.
I mean, ultimately, it's about getting Kawhi healthy. And I
(02:43):
just hope, I don't know, I hope this doesn't mean
I mean, obviously he's not fully himself. Um, fifteen months
since he was injured, and it's a bit of a
downer for me. I mean, we'll see how much you
can play and all that, but um, I think, I
(03:04):
admit I feel a little down about it. I don't
from the standpoint that he's playing that that's they need
to get him back out there, and I think that's
the most important thing I want to see. I understand
what you're saying, but that's the first step. If that
means he's gonna be healthy Chris long term and they
take their turn to take their time with him. I
(03:24):
think that's the most important thing for the Clippers and
him considering you know, just what he's been through. Well,
of course it's the most important thing. I'm just saying,
it's been fifteen months and the you know, typically Robs
g I don't know, if you can get some numbers,
get some numbers on some guys when they come back
from ACLS, but typically this long like what was Clay
(03:51):
you know, check out Clay Thompson. Um, you know, it
just feels like I get it if he was coming
back in ten months, twelve months, nine months, whatever, m fifteen,
I just would hope he would have been out there altogether.
But I'm with you in that if he's not yet ready,
it's the smart thing for the Clippers to do, and
(04:12):
hopefully he will get ready. Rob g give us some
updates on the when these guys ten to come back. Typically,
and this is according to can' out sports, a covery
time for an ACL injury in the NBA is six
to nine months. Really, yeah, that's returned to the court.
Not saying you're at full effectiveness, but you return to
the court, but actually playing in games and not just practice.
(04:36):
Nine months. You're playing games. And see that's what I'm saying. Rob.
Like again, I'm not I'm just saying if it were
nine or ten months, I get it. Fifteen months, I'm
just like Dag I mean, and Marcellas said it right,
And I've been told this by people in the league.
Why since day won Rob Kawhi Leonard, I'm talking about
(05:01):
when he was an unherlded rookie draft pick in San Antonio.
He only he don't want to play if he's not feeling,
you know, tiptop aches, pains, whatever. Now I give him this.
He did play through. Remember he had that little knee
injury in Toronto that he played through in the playoffs,
he didn't and won the championship. Now, that was a
(05:22):
contract year. I'm not mad at him. You know your priorities, right,
but that was a contract year, so he did it.
But yeah, that's what I'm saying, Rob though the fifteen
months is what makes me like man like a bit
down about it. Yeah, I'm sure people want to see
what he looks like. Chris depends on how those minutes look,
you know what I mean, If he looks like himself,
(05:43):
and then they just feel like enough obviously if they
win and they play well, and you know, they could
just say, hey, we're gonna take our time with this guy.
He's so valuable. We know what we can be if
he's healthy, and we're not gonna risk it. He's just
one of those delicate things. And if I'm the Clippers
and I can somehow, some way, Chris just squeeze one
(06:04):
championship during the time, that, don't you think, just like
because he's been there three years three years now, yeah, yeah,
three years and it was a four year deal. If
I remember, you want to squeeze one out and be like, hey,
we got a championship with Kauai. We went through hell
with the injuries, Paul George was hurt, like things just
(06:26):
didn't go to Clippers way a lot and uh and
they still were able to do and get what they want.
Then you can move on and decide what you want
to do after that. You know what I mean. It's
it is. I would be worse because, like you said earlier,
they've never had one. No, they want a championship, just
like Toronto won a championship and when Cleveland finally won
(06:48):
a championship. Chris, those are huge, Those are huge. I
mean the Knicks would die to have a championship, the
Nets would die to have it. Did so many franchises, Uh,
Utah would die to have a champion Indiana, Indiana. We
could go on one championship in those places, Rob means
the world. Yes, you know like that one and I'm
(07:09):
not down discounting it. It is a ring and it's
a championship. But to the Lakers, not just Lebron's championship
in the bubble, but any one individual championship they win,
it's great. It's they're going for the most banners in
the league now. But it I just right. I don't
(07:30):
think it means as much as one would mean to
the club that one means to the Calves or you know, Toronto,
as you mentioned. So yeah, it would if they could
get one, it would be huge for the Lake, for
the Clippers, and so we'll see as they begin this
quest tonight. Speaking of the Clippers and the Lakers, though, Rob,
(07:53):
there's been some speculation, let's call it that we don't
know what if it's true or not. It's just people
kind of talking. Really, Rob, I think on circumstantial evidence,
and the circumstantial evidence, people are speculating that Russell Westbrook,
if you remember, Rob, the last preseason game, he came
(08:16):
off the bench promptly injured his hamstring, stretched it, pulled it,
strained it, whatever, and was taken out of the game quickly,
and then was ready to play a few days later
and played thirty one minutes in the home open or
the season opener, and he started, Yeah, and he started
(08:38):
against the Warriors, and he's starting tonight, and people are
speculating because I mean the hamstring. You hear that, I
mean James Harden. It took him like a year and
a half to get through that hamstring that was bothering him, right,
And so people are speculating like was it really a
hamstring injury or was Russ really like sending a message
(09:01):
to the Lakers that hey, you put me on the
bench and this is I ain't going for it. And
Russ he didn't address that, but he did address the
fact that Rob he believes he did injury his hamstring
because he didn't start here he is a few days ago.
Do you think having to change a routine and stuff
(09:23):
like that could have played any role in and feeling
something a little different? Absolutely, I've been doing the same
thing for fourteen years straight. Honestly, I didn't even know
what to do pre game, Being honest, I was trying
to figure out and try to stay warm or loosing
for me, like you know, obviously the way I played
the game fast space, quick stop and go, and I
(09:46):
just happened to just when us something I felt something
that I was you know, I didn't know what it was,
but I wasn't gonna risk it in the preseason game.
But definitely wasn't something I was used to. Isn't warm enough,
and that's something that just I wasn't accustomed to him.
I'm sorry, I don't. I mean, Chris, if you're gonna
(10:10):
uh have a role or something's going on, maybe you
ask uh somebody, you know what I mean. I just
it sounds like an excuse or to make them feel
bad that they had him coming off the bench. I
don't know if he's injured. I'm not a doctor, Chris.
I didn't examine him. I'm not saying that he didn't
(10:31):
pull a hamstring, but to say is because of he
started on the bench and he didn't know what to do. Well,
why don't you ask guys were coming off the bench? Right?
I mean, I don't think that's the way you say it.
I hear. I think we can all understand his logic, right,
He's he is a high energy player. If you start,
(10:54):
you know, you warm up and then a few minutes
later you're in your own the court, So you're warm
when you hit the court, Whereas if you sit on
the bench and you're you come off as a reserve,
you know you can cool down a little bit. So
I think we all get what he's saying, but I
I don't necessarily buy it. To your point, right, But
(11:17):
also I don't think that's what you say when you're
thinking we're a team and team first, I think you
say at best, maybe you say, look, I don't know.
I mean maybe I guess it's possible, but I was,
you know, I mean I maybe I cooled down, yeah
you know something, but but I wasn't ready. I don't know,
(11:39):
but yeah, maybe I need to ride the bike right
before I get in the game. Right. If I'm going
to do this, I need to do some different things.
I don't know what happened, but to put it on like, well,
you know, fourteen years I've been a starter. I went
out there as a off the bench, and you know
I got injured. I mean, he's not the first guy
that right, that went off. That's when the started that
(12:01):
went off, came off the bench. Kawhi is doing it tonight.
That's just what don't think they're worried about. He won't
know what to do, Chris, he won't know he's gonna
pull his hamstring because he doesn't know how to warm
up as a player. Come on, right, I'll say this
about the speculation that Russ And again we're not saying
(12:23):
one way or the other we have no idea. I
would tend to you know, you want to give a
guy the benefit of the doubt. So I'm not saying
he's lying. I will say this though, Rob knowing, I mean,
Russ is a conundrum for the Lakers, and he clearly
doesn't fit. And if you were just trying to figure
(12:49):
out what in the world to do with this guy,
if he if he was to take the approach of
you know what, if you bring me off the bench,
I'm gonna be bad, ain't up. I'm not sure the
Lakers might not be like a right, stay stay out
for a little while, Like like if they had kept
(13:11):
their attack, if they had gone into the regular season, Rob,
like rush, you're coming off the bitch. Would he have
stayed hurt, so to speak? And would they have been like, hey,
let's see what we look without him? You know what
I mean? I know, you know what that's fair. I don't.
I don't know if it was him playing some sort
(13:34):
of game, you know, to see the response or whatever,
or or like you say, if they were gonna make
that permanent and he could have said, hey, I'm not
feeling good or whatever. I don't know, it's It's very,
very weird the whole scenario to me, because it's just
weird to hear a player say that like that was
the reason he got hurt. I don't know if I've
ever heard that, right, neither. I've been doing this for
(13:57):
thirty six years. I don't remember ever hearing that. Yeah. Yeah,
but again, Rob, we've said it. He's like, and I
don't think this is a negative, but he's It's a
lot like Alan Iverson. He just and you probably were
told the same thing. I was told, like Ai just
viewed himself as a super and you know I was,
(14:18):
you know, I was there in Detroit when that whole
thing went down, and he could have had a longer
career and he won the same guy and he refused
to buy into that. It was. It caused a big
issue because Rip Hamilton had won a championship there and
then all of a sudden, they want to Rip to
come off the bench because they wanted to play Ai
(14:38):
and Ai then they Ripped balked at it, you know
what I mean, and then Ai had an issue. It
was a mess. It was a mess because they weren't
on the same page. Yep. And then the same thing
in Memphis with Ai, he lasted I think eight games.
He wouldn't come off the bench. So I think Russ
has made of the same stuff. And again that's what's
helped those two be become a iconsum. But it ain't
(15:02):
conducive to ride in the pine. Be sure to catch

nine on Fox, was Russell Wilson or Westbrook playing a
game when he talked about his hamstring injury, talked about
his ham me his hand. All right, Chris let's start
with Andrea Massachusetts. You're on the odd couple Fox Sports Rading.
(16:05):
What up, Drake, what's going on? Thanks for taking a call. Yes, absolutely,
I think Russell Westbrook is playing a game talking about
he's having these minor injuries and therefore he can't come
off the bench. I think the Lakers, frankly, need to
take a hard line and say this is where we need,
this was best for the team, and if you're not
with that, okay, we're gonna put you on ice. I
what happened with John Wall with the Houston Rockets. Chris
(16:28):
will remember a different example of years ago with Jamal
Tinsley when he was with Indiana. Now that was different, okay,
but they said no, no no, no, we're gonna go with
the a youth movement. And my point is the Lakers
got some young guys that can go. Never mind, you
got Patrick Fevry, you got Schroeder, Okay, but how about
these young guys Scottie Pippen Jr. How about a Cole
Swider and Aweyan Gabriel. This is an old team, okay,
(16:50):
you need to interject these young guys that are gonna
believe in the process, that are willing to do whatever
it takes to win. That's gonna put Lebron in a
d in positions to be successful. You can't have this
third wheel, this prima donna, you know, Tito Jackson out
of him trying to run the show. But base with
Russell Westbrook and bringing some of this young energy, I think,
(17:11):
But them young boys ain't really all that. That's the thing.
Winyan Gabriel. You ain't winning nothing big with Winyan Gabriel
and those guys. No, you know, right, let's not get
the day young, right, And here's rob. I agree with
the Lakers starting the season with Westbrook in the lineup,
(17:32):
starting lineup, like, give it a shot, and if after
eight nine games it's clearly not the way to go,
then you can bring him off the bench if he's willing.
If not, maybe you know he's hurt or you know whatever.
But I I I think you'd lose him if you
just automn like start the season with him off the bench.
(17:54):
And you can even say, if you want, he's earned
the right to start the season and if he if
it's not working, and then you put him on. And
if you were going to do that, you probably just
should have moved them, you know what I mean. Well,
they weren't trying. I know what. They weren't willing to
give up what they needed to. I mean, they just didn't.
All right, Max and Georgia, you're in the odd couple
(18:14):
of Fox Sports Radio. What up? Max? Hey? What's up? Guys?
How are you? This is a calculated chess move that
he told us about a long time ago. He said
he wasn't willing to come off the bench. He wasn't
willing to do this. And you know, frankly, from an
independent standpoint, I understand that from a team aspect, that's
no good. But we all talked about it. We called
in and said it a while ago. Russell going there
(18:36):
was the detriment he was never going to get a
triple double with Lebron James driving that car. And it's
like a Ferrari, right, he paid all this money for
it. It It looks good, it drives good, but you can't
handle it and you can't keep it on the road.
So what do you do? You put it in the garage. Well,
you already paid the forty six million for it, So
the garage yet there it's staying good condition. But the
damn monthly insurance ain't changing. You're paying each link. So
(18:58):
his problem is that you hope you can move them,
get him trained and keep the value up and just
go with that. That's the best option at this point.
Fairest Fueler day off. Good call him the analogy. Appreciate
you guys. Yep, thanks buddy. All right, tay shits Tower
of Trivia Net. We're gonna have five million downloads after this,
(19:21):
all right, maybe ten million? There you go. All right,
all right, that's what I thought. Remember that. All right,
But first, Monty, guys, Now the Yankees and the Astros
are both on the scoreboard. We just ended the fifth inning.
The Astros got on the scoreboard first. It was the
bottom of the third inning and Alex Bregman hit a
(19:43):
three run homer to put them up. But then the
Yankees at the top of the fourth inning managed to
score two runs because of a throwing error by pitcher
Frambervaldez that led to them getting these two runs. So
right now we're gonna start the sixth inning. The Astros
are up three two on the Yanks. A little small ball.
I'm shocking, hate, I know, I know, but that's what
(20:05):
they need. To do. Just make contact, guys, keep it basic.
Right now, let's talk about this NFL gag because we
have a tied game now, two and a half minutes
to go in the first half, and we are tied
at fourteen apiece. Before the Cardinals just scored their touchdown
and they also converted it to a two point conversion
after they didn't go for the extra point. But right
before that, they called the time out, and it looked
(20:26):
like Kyler Murray had some intense words for head coach
Cliff Yeah, yeah, Chris. It was not cute. He looked upset.
Cliff Kingsbury seemed to hold his own, he didn't really
have a reaction, but Kyler Murray looked upset. In fact,
DeAndre Hopkins walked over and kind of like pushed them
away and back onto the field. Then they went and
(20:47):
scored the touchdown. Yeah, you could tell four Shirt. He's
probably like, let me call the plays, and he's like, no,
you don't study, let me call the places. That's probably
what they were just fight. Did you watch the film
before I let you make any calls. But they had
a successful two point conversion and so we are tied
two and a half minutes to go in the first half,
(21:08):
tied at fourteen and oh yeah, I'm watching a video now.
Oh yeah, no, he looks so mad and Cliff Kings
why kud just looks at him, doesn't really do much,
but yeah, Hopkins came in and was like, Okay, let's
go away. Come on, this is our discovered card key

Nathaniel Hackett says that quarterback Russell Wilson once again was
limited at practice today because of his hamstring injury. He
didn't go into specifics, but he did say that backup
quarterback Brett Rippon needs to be ready to play on
(21:51):
Sunday against the Jets. Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, he says
that he's playing on Sunday for sure against the Lions.
He went through a full practice today for the first
time since fracturing is write them in the season opener,
and let's go to the NBA. It's been going back
and forth. Now we have a close game because the
Bucks try to pull away, but seventy sixers have come back.
(22:11):
So what happened? They were exactly they were up by
thirteen about five minutes ago, and now they're only up
by two. So the scores eighty two to eighty five
and a half minutes to go in the game. Jannisan
to Takumbo leads the Bucks with twenty one points, twelve rebounds,
eight assists, three blocks, only two turnovers. And of course
(22:31):
we have James Harden leading the seventy sixers with twenty
seven points, shooting eleven of nineteen not too shabby, one
of five from the three point line, a perfect four
for for from the free throw line. He's got seven rebounds,
nine assists, two steals, and also only one turnover. Look
at you, James Harden. Back to you guys. You know
that's that's gonna be something to keep an eye on,
(22:52):
right because I don't know if Harden needs to be
leading him a score. Yeah, they have a spot. Spread
the ball you got Joe Lmba I want him to
get twenty five, but I want hib to get about
twenty eight and be right now has fifteen. He was
leading them in the first top but he's not shooting
great and beat a six of nineteen. It's because hard
(23:13):
and dribbling all the time, and he's got a rook.
I mean that's something they're gonna have to watch if
they lose this game and nbad. I don't think he's
gonna be happy with that. Yeah, we will see something
to keeping eye. Thank you mind getting four and a
half points with the bucks tonight, So I'm like, who
cares if you know, I'm just just keep it close.

He was like, that was right down. Rob got question

you gotta be careful by the way, Rob. Someone tweeted

(25:46):
In light of the night lur's the night game. All
of these questions are Saints and Cardinals theme. That flipped
a coin during Manti's update, Rob Parker gets question number
one Lee Rob. For eighteen seasons, the Cardinals played their
home games at sun Blank Stadium on the campus of
Arizona State University. Rob Ge, what are you doing to me? Dude?
(26:09):
It's an easy question speak for yourself. Dude, Wait a minute,
what you say it was? Can I hit a question
one more time? The Cardinals played their home games used
to at sun Blank Stadium on the campus of Arizona State. Angel, Angel,
give me the question, Rob, Sun Blank Stadium on the
campus of Arizona State. Angel. You should see the ye

is correct? Okay, Rob, I don't know about Rob. Stay

(27:16):
to Chris. In the late nineties, the Cardinals were led
by former Arizona State legend Jake Plummer. Of course, fans
just referred to him as Jake the Blank Serpent Snake.
That is correct, Yeah, okay, okay, Chris got a barn
burner up in here. Question number three back to Rob Parker.
The Saints won the Super Bowl in two thousand and nine.
(27:38):
That team, of course, was led by quarterback Drew Blank.
I feel like singing, here you ready, You're ready, Alex.
Remember Mary Poppins in nineteen seventy two. Here we go,
don't ray me? Oh no, no, summer and now we
(27:59):

maybe Alex will get this way. Summer okay, give me,
give me you ain't blank. Oh my gosh. Breeze that
is correct. Summer breeze. Yes, okay, I see you come
(28:23):
on in through the jazz. Let's go. We should request
that for tomorrow, not to say Friday. Summer breeze. Yes,
summer breeze. We got a perfect game here in tit
just tower a trivia Barker up twenty to ten, Chris
coming back right now, level number four. Since nineteen seventy five,
the Saints have played their home games at the iconic
(28:46):
Blank Dome. Oh Pole, that is incorrect. Perfect game is
over bowl? Okay, here we go. Okay. Oh, by the way,
any don't just do his third interception of the half? Oh?
(29:08):
Dj Kalin on another one? Where is Jamison there? And
he's broken back. We don't care. Oh my god, let taysom,
He'll take snaps. All right, what's it? Alright? Towards Uh
what is it? Blank dome? Blank dome. Okay, here we go,
Alex Okay, yes, yeah, alright, are you ready? Just pass man?
(29:32):
Ah Man? Question and Rob. Saints play their home games
at the iconic blank Dome. Man Bowl um Titan. That
is incorrect, Man, huh Batman, No, you can't do that.
(29:58):
It's one word. Robin. That is incorrect. Rob Last, you
had to steal otherwise we move to the next round. Remember, Okay,
he did text me that, yes, I'm ready, Clark, Wayne,
that is incorrect. What we were looking for was super
(30:20):
super Gosh. I was just because he said Batman. So
I just was like, super Clark, where does where? Does
I think he was gonna think? Kid? I would have
super Man said man Clark, Kid, I get you. Chris,
what are you trying to do with bowl? Like super Bowl?
Super Bowl? Oh okay, I kinda get that, Mario. Go
(30:42):
by the way, ninety sec is left in the NBA game,
six Ers up eighty six to eighty four. Oh all right,
back to Rob Parker. He tied a game. Come on,
you got to get a stranglehold on this one. If
he gets it the Saint it's Rob's turn because you
missed that last one, Chris. The Saints have one of
the most rowdy fan bases in all the sports. They
(31:02):
refer to themselves as who dat blank? Huh? Is it is? Chris? Right? Okay? Okay?
Who that? Okay? Who that Parker? Here we go? Okay,
who that Parker? Jason Smith is? Okay? Um? Ben Mallards
in the park? Ya all right, Ben Mallard, Ben Mallard,
(31:23):
all right, here we go? Who that? Right? Okay? Here
we go. Alex? You ready? Uh glad you asked? Thank you,
America America Nations. Is I don't have him waving flag
(31:44):
when he's this studio. You shouldn't be able to go
in studio On Thursday, bring Puffy you beat Seaton. Let's
go Rob, Alex, Alex's watching keeping we got time, got time?

it is the I Couple. Chris and Rob wrapping up
a TV theme song. Thursday. We're live, of course, from
(33:12):
the tiraq dot com studios. And earlier this week I
think Monday, No, probably Tuesday, actually, Rob and I made
our NBA predictions. We both picked the Brooklyn Nets to
win the East and reach the finals. Rob picked them
to win the championship. I picked them to lose in
(33:33):
the finals to Golden State and off to a bad start. Rob.
Last night, the Nets got slacked by the New Orleans Pelicans.
Obviously just one game, but it wasn't purty at all.
Kevin Durant showed up thirty two points four blocks, but
(33:56):
no one else did, at least none of the other stars.
Nick Klaxon, well for him, Kywe missing boards, Yeah, Tyree
fifteen points six for nineteen shooting though, and Ben Simmons
was a no show. Ben Simmons Rod fouled out in
uh twenty three minutes, four points, five assists, five rebounds. Um,
(34:18):
what'd you take from that? Nothing? Bad game? Uh, They're
gonna have to work. It's gonna be a working progress.
People are gonna lose games. It doesn't mean you know,
I mean, obviously he's not to start. You one would
have been great if they played well from game one
and clicked or whatever. It's it's a working progress for
them to stay healthy. You're not gonna have that many
(34:39):
nights with Kywe's that bad. Uh. Simmons is still hasn't
played in a wild Crystal. He's gonna have to get
his legs and his situation together. So I look at
it as a working progress. If I'm the Nets, I
want to be healthy and have a whole season together
come playoff time. That's and obviously you want to win
games and be as you know, as close to the
(35:01):
top as possible, in the top four. I think that's all.
You want to be top four. You have home court
first round, right, and that's how that's how what the
goals should be. Yeah, it's one game. You don't overreact
to one game. Denver rob got blown out right by
a Utah team that ain't trying to win, and right,
(35:21):
they just change their best that just played the got
rid of their best play right, And and it's like,
what are we doing, Like we're trying to lose every
game for that big boy from France exactly exactly, And
that's why, Yeah, you just you gotta look at it.
And and Philly right now is about to be owing
two on the start of season, I mean right, so
(35:43):
right and they now they in fairness, they have played
two or the tough, but they're at home. They could
be Chris, I better hear that same excuse tomorrow when
the Lakers are two because they lost to the Warriors
in the Clippers Okay, no excuses, I test all right
and the Lakers that's a fair No, it's no, it
(36:06):
ain't fair. If the Lakers win the night, I still
am not gonna think they're gonna be very good. I mean,
they just they're older and their prime superstar ad just
the Lakers aren't old at all. They got one old player,
but what Yeah, but he's their best player, but he's
super Bowls. Yeah, and it'll be interesting just to see
how the season plays out with them, really, because if
(36:28):
they get off to us and their schedule, Rob g
you know it, Lakers. Yeah, the Laker schedule is tough.
The first five or six games. Yeah, there's actually odd
you can get that. They'll start off the season and
seven Yes, Chris, that's how bad this schedule. If they
start off that would be ugly. Rob might be apologizing
to JJ Reddick. You know what, let's just talk about
(36:51):
don't hold your breath for that. Don't hold your breath
for that one. Right, we're gonna need to get JJ
Reddick on the show. I love JJJ. Rob, I don't know, yes,
can ESPN folks come on here. Sometimes we've had them on. Um, right,
let's go. I'm with you. Look the nets the one thing, right,
I mean, look, they are a lot of things off
(37:11):
the court. They're worry me. I'm not worried at all
about Kyrie's game. Um, if he gets he could get injured.
He's obviously been injury prone. Does he you know, get
act up off the court? I don't know. Possibly, but
I'm not worried about this game. UM, I want Kim,
you know. I do think they need to develop some chemistry. Um,
(37:33):
they need to show some leadership. And I like that
Kevin Durant who was, like I said, he showed up,
but he kind of took it on himself, which he
didn't have to do. He kind of saying he got
to show up and be more locked in and be better.
Um that's what I like that. That's some leadership and
I like that. Um, but I think I will they.
(37:56):
I think they need some size, right. I mean I
don't mean great size, but just like a big body
because they they were crushed on the glass and again
one game. But they probably could use some size because
you look at Milwaukee, not only Yannis, but Brook Lopez.
Boston's not huge, but Robert Williams plays big um and
(38:17):
Philly obviously hasn't beid. But that's that's one area of
concern for the Nets. And there's a question mark we
have to admit with Ben Simmons. What is he going
to be? I mean, and I hate to put it
this way, but I think it's true. Rob. The question is,
did that at Lanta Series two years or almost two
years ago take his heart? Right? Is right? Absolutely? I'm
(38:44):
not saying we know, I'm just I would Before last
night I was saying, no, I think he'll be fine,
and I think he will. I would bet that. But
that's the question because this is the only game we've
seen since then. But he was he didn't look anything
like the old Ben Simmons. And I get it it's
a long layoff, but so was it for Zion Williamson
(39:05):
That he played well? He played awesome, you know, so
I give Ben time, But that's the question. Is he
gonna be the player he was or better? Or is
he going to not be that player? And if he's
not that player, it's gonna be tough for him to
overcome because they need they need Ben Simmons rob to
at least be what he was in Philly, right right,
(39:27):
And it might take a little while, but it's they're
not trying to win anything this in the first month
of the season, you know, like they just keep everybody healthy,
get them playing together. They do have talent, everybody knows it,
and it's just they gotta get it together, all right.
It's the I Couple. We are signing off on a
TV theme song Thursday, but keep it locked. Fox Sports Radio.
