great guests as we really get ready for this homecoming
(01:12):
of Lebron James. Tonight, he returns to Cleveland, his hometown area,
his hometown team, for the first time since leaving the
Cavaliers for the Los Angeles Lakers. He's not talking about Lebron,
that's that's Rob Parker watching Duke Gonzaga. Gauzaga was up
(01:34):
by double figures most of the game. Now it's tied
at eighty seven with a minute twenty left, So it
looks like it's gonna be interesting because I could just
scored to go ahead by two. Good game. We'll keep
you posting on that. But in about thirty minutes, Lebron's
former teammate when they went to the finals in two
thousand and seven, Daniel Booby Gibson will join us, and
(01:57):
I know that's gonna bring back some bad memories for Rods.
He eat up your Detroit, no memories for me? Like
I care? I will? You cared? I cover them? You
keeping up, y'all your big mister journalists have j I
don't cover you think I care about you? Don't care?
Don't dors you were tight with were? I? Okay, you
(02:22):
must not fine, I don't do that. I'm a journalist. Yeah,
I went to Jay School, all right. I don't know
if they went out of us win, they win, if
they lose and had no effects? Were journalists, you know?
And to Colombia, Jake the only objective one. I'm the
jack Fox. What are you talking about the objective? When
(02:42):
they no you're not, you love. He's a Lebron slappy
please Lebron slappy. Please. I just keep it real, all right.
In the second hour, we will bring in mister House,
Eddie House. He will house you. Yes, we will get
into it with him. Former NBA champion, another former teammate
of Lebron James. And then in the third hour, he
has been on every team, so everybody, he's got like
(03:03):
a million, a lot of great teammates, that's for sure.
It's got a million of teammates. The third hour, as
we do every Wednesday, it's the hot seat. This time
it's Kelvin Washington. I don't know if Kelvin knows what
he's getting in Nah, he has no idea. I mean,
we got a body count that's that's long and strong
of people that have tried to survive the hot seat
(03:24):
and have been left and ruined. And he's from Detroit,
so you know he's a tough guy. But he ain't
that time he's about to get I hope he, I
hope he's preparing, all right. So with that saying, let
me introduce He's already been running his mouth, but I'm
gonna introduce Rod Parker. What's up, man? How you doing?
What's up? I like that switch? How are you doing?
This is a deal? You ready? I just got it today,
(03:46):
I told Rob. Just today, I went to go have
some lunch and then I went through one of the
Champ stores or something. So it was twenty five percent off.
The original price was ninety bucks. But look on the back.
But you got a footprint or something on the back.
You don't see it. Look close? Oh oh oh yeah,
(04:08):
there's a highlighter. Stay right. But I don't think anybody's
gonna see that. But unless twenty five percent though, that's
that's only what what? Don't tell me? That's about twenty
bucks roughly, right? But I said to him, I said, no,
I would want it, but you gotta give me more
than that, right right, So I said I wanted fifty
percent off, So I wanted up paying thirty three dollars
for a Jordan jacket Champs. Yes, thirty three. I can
(04:29):
see you running that old you know, getting over on
that with some some dos and a little you know,
win them little little hip hop. Right. No, that's the
corp really Stamps. Let you do that. That's a good deal.
That's a great deal. I just jumped on. We're gonna
have to put a bet on. I'm gonna get that
in a bet. What we're gonna bet that jacket? Yeah,
watch my jacket. You're a better haulic. I watch you
(04:52):
on Undisputed. Everything that comes up, you want to bet,
So I'm gonna get you. All right, I need to
go to Gambler's anonymous something right, but yes it is. Uh.
We want to say wish everybody a happy Thanksgiving tomorrow
and calm down, slow down if you're on the roads,
No no rush anywhere, you know what I mean. Let's
everybody take it easy if you're listening to the show
(05:14):
on the road. But let's start to show Chris, of
course by introducing our odd couple crew, a crew that
we wouldn't be able to do this find radio show with.
First our producer Rob Gee and of course Alex, our engineer.
And we welcome back deb Carson, our anchor was waiting
for a couple of days. She's back in the saddle.
(05:35):
She'll keep us updated for what's going on in sports
throughout the show. And is Kyla is she working with us?
Let's see her walking our way okay, And our intern
Kyla is here as well, So we are in full
effect on this day before Thanksgiving, and they're all on
the other side of the glass Chris Bouchard And yes, indeed,
past the gravy, we are going to kick some ass.
(05:58):
Are you feeling yourself? Now? I throw it in all
types of phrase. You know what I did today? Also
brought a sweet potato pie really from the store for tomorrow. Yeah,
I just just in case, Like I'm going somewhere to
a friend's house. Okay, but just in case they don't
hang it, you should bring it. No, no, no, I
mean you don't bring gifts when you go usually. I
asked if they need something, but I usually bring wine
(06:20):
or something like that. But I just wanted to make
sure I had a sweet potato pie. They don't have
it or it's not good, you know what I mean
to have something, I gotta have a piece of sweet
potato pie tomorrow. Wow. Okay, pumpkin pie. See potato pumpkin
bean pie? You ever had bean pie? Alex, you eat
bean pie? I like a sweep potato pie, pumpkin pie,
(06:42):
apple pie, all the others. You need to roll over
the inglewood get you some bean pie, like Beanie will
be on the corner selling it right with the bow ties.
So how are you being? Pie? Pie is good, it's light.
It's in that family. Sweet potato pumpkin pie in that
famlkin pot is disgusting that it is. Sweet potato pie
(07:02):
is better much. I can't do it. It's so bland.
I've tried it once and I thought it was so
bland compared to sweep soul food sweet potato pie. It
ain't even close. Pounds of sugar and brown sugar and
all that sweetato is good. And my mom, make sure
y'all try something. Lady Mary Parker was the best baker
(07:25):
in our neighborhood, and she made the best sweet potato pie.
I'm telling you. You've heard the story. I missed my
mom during the holiday. All right, speaking of missing miss
I always got a segue. Look at this, I am
because I used to be a freestyle MC, so I
could always come. I'm talking about you sports. The segue
(07:48):
is speaking of missing people. Okay, there you go. The
people of northeast Ohio. The Cleveland Cavaliers fans really miss
Lebron James. They don't miss Lebron. Stop it. Lebron walked
out thirteen, he walked out. They won't have another significant
basketball game for the rest of this season. They don't.
You Let me tell you some when somebody walks out
(08:10):
on you, how do you miss a guy who doesn't
want to be there? They didn't miss as he didn't
want to be there. I would never easy for you.
I would never miss anybody pull for a team. But
I'm just talking about I was a fan when I
was a kidding one of the best players I would ever.
I would never had him. He left in twenty ten.
(08:31):
You're gonna tell me they weren't supposed to miss him. No,
I would never miss it nobody. I would never miss
anybody doesn't want to be a horrible team. He doesn't.
He went back. He doesn't want to be there. He
for whatever reason, he hates the area that he would
grew up in and nurtured and became this megastar. But
for some reason he can't stomach being in uh South,
(08:52):
What does that? What is that? Ohio Southeast, northeast, Northeast.
I mean he can't stomach there? For seven years? Is that?
To start his career? He was He went He moved
from Miami to Cleveland, and of course Okay, who does that?
How are you gonna say he's not RJ. Barrett to
the whole? What are they doing? Did r J Barrett
(09:16):
he get filed? No? I think it was a charge
games over, no call. It's hard to jump. Obviously, Shechevski
is a great coach. But if you watch Duke, all
they do is drive recklessly to the whole shoot jumps.
I mean it's ridiculous. J Yeah, right, Zion. They all
they do is drive recklessly to the basket, ridiculous and
(09:40):
shoot threes. I mean, come on, it's hard again. I can't.
I'm not even gonna fix my mouth to criticize his record,
because you can still criticize his coach to get it.
But I'm gonna give him the benefit of this is
this is what he's wearing. We're radio, nobody can see. Okay,
I thought we're on disputed. Well that's what it is. Okay,
(10:05):
all right, all right? R J. Barrett over for six
in the second half. That's Lebron Lebron, That Lebron James. No, No,
the differences differences. Oh no, I'm picturing Lebron James come
barreling down the left side of the of the court
(10:26):
throwing up a one handed bank shot off the glass
to beat Indiana. That's what I'm picture. What you mean?
I got it? Can't be, Lebron asked, because those guys
were afraid to take the shots. They didn't pass it
to somebody else to take the shot down the show.
Didn't you just hear what I said? Did he pass
it to somebody else against Indiana? You're still talking about
that shot shot that that there's no pressure on that shot.
(10:50):
That's what I mean pressure on this shot there down
by the score is tied. Lebron knows he's gonna go
to overtime if if he misses the shot. There's no pressure. Chris,
you know that when they're down and they makes you
still don't give him credit. I don't remember Lando, Chicago.
Remember that anyway, my Rod Parker. I don't even have
(11:17):
time to get in it. We're gonna get into it
the next segment. But Lebron James. Look at the Cleveland
Cavaliers right now, they are a mess. J R. Smith
j R. Smith doesn't even want to be there. They're
two and thirteen. They're the worst team in the NBA,
(11:39):
and Lebron James took them to the NBA Finals. Go back,
go back and read, go back and rob get the
quotes from Lebron after they made those trades for those
guys at the at the at the trade, he was excited.
He was wrong, he was wrong. I'm not saying the
(11:59):
one anything. I'm just saying he was the one. He's
the architect of the mess you're talking about. He was
the architect of Larry nat Clarkson. Really, he's the doctor
Frankenstein of that mess. That wasn't a good team. They
never even start on the thirty five win Laker team.
It tells you that why when Lebron took that team
through the East, why the Eastern Conference is no good?
(12:22):
Because it's no good. It's it's further proof that Lebron
didn't beat anybody to go to the finals all those
years because he played with nobody. I'm telling you all
those years, what years, all the years eight years of
the Row beat nobody, nobody. Chicago was winning games with
Derrick Rose's MVP body, but nobody but the Big Three
was still alive and well. In Boston, nobody. They were
(12:46):
getting pension checks by the time that they were. Lebron
still mad at him because he ran rush shot Detroit
Pistons and we can be ruined. One of your columns
in the Detroit News. That's what you're mad about. It admitted.
You've had an extra grind with Lebron James ever since,
ever since he dropped forty eight. Here it is perfect song.
(13:07):
You're in your feelings, Lebron GW that get you in
your feelings? Why would you bring up gesn't get you
and your feelings? Why are you giving him all this airtime?
Stop with the GW. I'm so sick. We got plenty more,
believe because I'm not diving even begun to get started
on Lebron James and Rob Parker. I've said it before
(13:30):
and I say it again. Nobody in the history of basketball. Yes,
that includes the Goat Michael Jordan can do more with
less than Lebron James. I'll explain that next. It's the
Eye Couple Fox Sports Radio. Yes, sir, brownies juice, it's
the Eye couple, Chris Brussard and Rob Parker. I just
(13:52):
bought a car about two months ago, and I'm telling
you car shopping can be confusing. That's throwing terms all
at you. Dealer. Price, this price, invoice. What you need
is True Car because True Car shows you what you
really need to know, which is what did other people
pay for the car that you want. That way you
can recognize what's a good price and what's a bad price.
(14:14):
Trust me, when you're ready to buy a new or
even a used car, visit True Car to enjoy more
confident car buying experience. And Rob Parker, you just kept
interrupting me last segment, so I really never got to
make my point. I'm sorry. This is the point I
want to make, and then I want you to respond
if you can, if you can, all right. Lebron James
(14:40):
makes more out of less than any player in NBA history,
meaning you could put him with virtually anybody. You could
put him on any team in the NBA, and at
the very least he's getting them to the playoffs. In
most teams, he's going to turn into a contender. He
(15:02):
does that better than Kareem Abdul Jabbar, who missed the
playoffs two straight years in his prime. He does it
better than Will Chamberlain. And the reason he does it
better than those big men was because he doesn't need
a guard to get him the ball like they did.
And he even does that better than Michael Jordan when
(15:23):
Jordan left the Bulls, and Jordan's the goat. Don't get
me wrong, Michael Jordan is the goat. But when he
left in nineteen ninety three after his third straight championship
with Chicago, they went from winning fifty seven games his
last year there in that run to fifty five went
(15:44):
to you know it very well, went to Game seven
of the second round against the Knicks, who ended up
going to the finals that year and had so they
had a really good chance to get to the championship.
There was a foul call on a bad call right
Scottie Pippen that changed that. That was at the end
of the y. So my point is that that's one
thing Lebron does better than any player. He can take
(16:07):
He can take five of us, four of us in
here and make us a great team. So you gotta
give him credit for that. And this Cleveland team is
proof of that. They're two and thirteen. He took this
team to the freaking NBA Finals and they are two
and thirteen without him. And I don't want to hear
Kevin Love's hurt because Kevin Love was shooting thirty two
(16:29):
percent from the field when he went down. Yeah, but
you gotta admit that if he was playing anything, they
might be three and twelve. They would be better. I
might be three. And this whole narrative doesn't mean anything
to me because it just is it not true. It's
just a narrative to try to make Lebron look better,
to try to disguise the losses when he gets to
(16:50):
the finals, because the same guy you say does more
with less until you get to the big games, and
then that's the excuse on why he doesn't win. Well,
I didn't need to do these in twenty fifteen. He
was without Kyrie and Kevin Love and they were up
(17:11):
to one on the Golden State Warriors. So what he
didn't perform, Well, all I'm telling you is it's the
same narrative. That's what n Lebron wins. All Lebron does
more whatever, and then when he loses, you go, but
he didn't have anybody. What do you want Lebron to do?
He didn't have anybody. They look at the look at
the roster. I told Skip and Shannon three days after
(17:36):
they made those trades that that team was no more,
no better than what they already had that those guys
were no good. I have the proof, I have the
video to act like that's something. But but now your acclamation.
Nobody was saying that always they would watch Ridney Hood
and Jordan. No, they weren't that great. They won. They
were just saying they were better than the crew they had.
(17:58):
They were no, they want Chris. It was all a thing.
All Lebron's got his guys. Now they're gonna win the East,
and it's all anybody. Nobody was saying they were gonna
win the East. They were gonna win the East even
if they didn't make any changes because because Lebron James. Look,
when they were down to Boston, I picked Lebron to
(18:20):
continue to win. I don't bet so many people Chicken wings.
I know I don't have a problem, but I bet
so many people because I was like, he's still going
to win. Stop. Lebron is not going to lose to
the Celtics with no stars. Lebron's not gonna lose to Toronto.
He's not. Here's the as. I just don't understand. I
don't understand what the narrative. What does that mean? He
(18:40):
won one championship in eleven years in Cleveland. What does
that mean? You act like you found you? What does
that mean that anything? Is that anything special? He won
one championship in eleven years. Here's the chat. Look, I've
heard the cliche, and it's true a lot of times.
Sometimes the person's greatest strength can be their greatest weakness.
(19:03):
And Lebron James, because he does so many things well,
he does everything on the court. Sometimes he's playing the forward,
sometimes he's playing the point guard. He's shooting threes, he's
going to the basket, he posts occasionally, he's a great
pass or all that. He does so much that he
virtually becomes his own system. Some people have the triangle,
(19:26):
some people have Princeton, some people have motion offense. Some
teams have Lebron. That's the system he made. Because he's
the system, he can make any team really good. But
the downfall of that is that when you have other
great players, it can marginalize them a little bit because
(19:50):
they have to all of a sudden fit into this
one man system. You saw it with Wade and Bosh
in Miami, Kyrie felt it in Cleveland. And I do
think that that is partially why like a one man system,
no matter how great the one player is. It's not
going to beat a great team that's skilled, has talent
(20:10):
and plays five man basketball. That's why the Spurs and
the Warriors have given him more problems than any other teams.
And Michael Jordan, I mean, Phil Jackson put him in
the triangle and said, we have to play team ball.
You're not gonna win and the rest is history. So
that I'll give you that. Uh, it's it's a it
could be a strength and a weakness, but I am
(20:31):
I'm just saying I don't think there's ever been a
player that could do more with less. In NBATS it is, well,
there's a there's a you're I know, you're all black
and white, but not they don't just get to the playoffs.
They get to finals or deep in the playoffs, Okay,
and there's there's something to be sad for that. I know.
(20:52):
You don't want to give anybody props. That's Les Barkley.
It didn't matter. He could have missed the playoffs every
year of his career and been just as good. Right, No,
because he never won it. No, I didn't say that.
I'm just saying. Andre Reid, receiver for the Buffalo bills me,
he's nothing. He went to four straight super No, No,
that's a dubious distinction. Dubious. We have to pull out
(21:12):
the dictionary. No, all right, can anyone in basketball do
more with less than Lebron James. We'll ask his former
teammate Booby Gibson next, But first, let's welcome back Dab Carson.
He left us for a few days, dab No. Gents, yes,
off serving my civic duty, jury duty. But I am
(21:32):
back with you tonight house. Oh I'm glad. I thought so.
I thought that you weren't handcuffs at the courthouse. No, no, no,
it was not my case. Fortunately that would not have
been a good thing. But happy Thanksgiving to you guys
into everybody listening out there. But we will start off
with that. The final, the finish to that game at
the Maui Invitational Championship. Third rank Gonzaga did hold off
top rank Duke eighty nine eighty seven. So Gonzaga improves
(21:56):
to six and no. Blue Devil suffer their first loss
of the season. They're five and one, and by the way,
this is also Duke's first ever loss at that tournament.
At the Maui Invitation seventeen and one, and you know what,
coach k came out with an excuse. Uh, you know what,
he said, he had sand in his shorts. That was
the reason why he couldn't coach one the least, didn't him.
(22:17):
They were just driving to the basket. Yeah, that was
by the way. I can't even imagine him enjoying time
at the beach. He no NBA action. We've got that
underway as well. Hornets with a twenty nine twenty three
lead over the Pacers, two to go in the first quarter,
four to go. First in Philly, Sixers with a twenty
four eleven lead over the Pelicans. Also news out of Philly,
(22:37):
The Athletic is reporting that Marquelle Fulls of the Sixers
is dealing with not only that previously diagnosed right shoulder injury,
but also a right wrist injury, and the Athletic also
says he would prefer to make a fresh start with
a new team. Oh yeah, the G League has opening
right right. I bet that's crushing the Sixers. They probably
couldn't couldn't wait to trade. No, they they're just the
(22:59):
buses started up, as are you ready to go? He'd
probably be like Markuel find us a trade partner will
gladly ship you out, preferably Jason Tatum from Boston. And
then as you guys mentioned, of course, Lebron making his
visit back to Cleveland with the Lakers. Of course, Lakers
and Cavaliers tip off at the top of the hour. NFL,
of course, a big part of a lot of folks Thanksgiving.
(23:21):
The Cowboys have ruled out receiver to Von Austin and
linebacker Shaan Lee for their game against Washington Bears of
officially listed quarterback mister Trubisky is doubtful for Thursday's game
against the Lions because of his shoulder injury, so it
looks like backup Chase Daniel is likely to start and
for the game against Chicago. The Lions have ruled out
receiver at Marvin Jones and running back carry On Johnson.
(23:41):
Palkins also have just ruled out linebacker Dion Jones for
Thursday's game against the Saints. Guys, Wow, all banged up? Yeah,
they are all right? Holiday in Detroit. Ye, all right.
See couple, Chris Bruce are Rob Parker. We are coming
to you live from the Guy Coo Fox Sports Radios Studios.
It's easy to say fifteen percent or more in your
(24:03):
car insurance with Geico. Go to Geico dot com or
call one eight hundred nine four seven Auto. The only
hard part is figuring out which way is easier and
rob You remember the last time Lebron returned to Cleveland,
so to speak, when he was in Miami two thousand
and ten, and it was ugly. I haven't seen at
(24:26):
a professional basketball game and uglier scene than that. I
mean there was vitriol, there was venom, and rightfully so,
I mean based off of people being fans and fanatics,
I get it. And it wasn't just this. He wasn't
just any great player. He was from there. When you
turn your back on people from a particular area, Chris,
(24:47):
did he turn his back on him? Yeah, I mean
honestly by deciding he just wanted to go Elsewheah as
a fan like, yeah, we hey, we got a guy.
We're gonna win a championship. They didn't know he's gonna
come back and win. You're gonna remember that. They didn't
know that at the time. All right, I get it. Well,
let's welcome in. One of Lebron James's former teammates went
to the NBA Finals with him in two thousand and
(25:11):
seven when he was a rookie reigning three pointers all
over the Detroit Pistons. Parker's my partner, Booby he he
was a writer in Detroit. It just crushed It didn't
crush me that I was covering the series Christakes, I care,
but Booby had a great series. Booby Gibson, Booby Man.
How you doing, man? What's going on? Man? I'm doing great, man,
(25:33):
enjoying life, living life. Yeah, I'm here. I'm thank you
for having me. Nah, it's great to have you. So
what are you up to? We were asking what you're
up to these days? You're still doing the music? You
wrapp it? Man. I'm I'm a full time artist, but
I don't like to call it rapping because I do
a lot of writing, a lot of ghost writing for
a lot of artists. Okay. I'm just into the business
of writing music, writing scripts, and just you know, using
(25:56):
the other side of my brain outside of my athletical fitlity. Right. Well,
that's great, man, that I got it mixed up when
they told me that you were a rapper. I thought
you'd be busy on Christmas with presents and stuff. I got,
I got bars. Don't. Rob is older, Booby, he don't
know nothing about and so he's from that soul music.
(26:20):
I do too for one right happy hour? All right, Booby?
You you were there the first night when Lebron returned
with the Miami Heat in twenty ten. You were still
with the Cavaliers. What was that like? I mean, did
you know it was gonna be that bad? And were
you happy? I mean, you were one of the guys
he left behind. Were you glad the fans responded that way?
(26:44):
Or were you bothered by it because it was so
nasty or what? You know what when I think back,
when I think back on it now, I really did
not expect it to be that bad. But thinking about
how the Cleveland fans are about their sports, it makes
sense now. But in the process of it, I was like,
of course I was mad because he's the greatest player
(27:05):
in the world, and you know when he leaves that
kind of there goes the championship, asser races and all
of the above. But I do understand the business of basketball,
and I feel like he made a business decision. Personally, yeah,
I wanted him to stay, but the environment that we
were in, it was tough to even think about basketball.
You know, like in the midst of the game, like
(27:27):
we had, you know, the guy run on the court
ready to ready to fight him, and everything goes. It
was just the environment was so intense. It was it
was difficult to even think about playing a game of basketball.
I wanted usually escape. I understand fans. I mean they
put their heart and soul, They buy georgy with other
guys names on their back, you know what I mean,
invest money, time, they care. Fan is derived from the
(27:52):
word fanatic, So I get all that. And that's why
I'm not mad at if they boo him tonight. What
do you expect tonight. I mean, he's basically walked out
on the city twice, and I know he left the
championship behind, but I would understand the fans boot him. Yeah,
I mean it's Cleveland, so I expect them to boot
like you know they if you're not in Cleveland, they
(28:13):
I feel like they have to give you some type
of disrespect. But he did come back and bring home
a championship. And I just think that after they went
so hard the first time, I think they let I
think they let it all out the first time. I
don't think. I don't think it'll be anywhere near as bad.
And the fact that he came back and did so
much for the city, I just think you gotta give
(28:34):
him some appreciation. You gotta let him smell a few
roads while he's still playing. But at the same time,
like you just said, he did leave again and take everything.
I mean, all of the any dreams we had of
going back to the finals or continuing to compete gets
washed away and you got to start all over. So
I can understand the frustration, but I think they gotta
(28:55):
give him just a little bit of love. This time
they're talking about, well, Lebron, ever, get a statue you.
I'm in front of the queue in Cleveland. This should
be a statue. He definitely, this should be a statue.
But he should have a suitcase under one arm in
his other hand. That's not a basketball. That's what he
should have, Boobie. I'm telling me, ring right, tell me
(29:18):
not of Yeah, the business and basketball. You gotta understand,
like guys, guys leave and go to different teams all
the time. But what you can never disrespect or take
away from it. Every single time he laced them shoes
up as a Cavalier. He was the best thing on
the quarter. He brought so much excitement and love and
joy to the city of Cleveland. And I mean, you
(29:39):
gotta give him some love for that, even if you
know he decides to leave hen you know what I mean, Like,
you gotta at some point flip that switch and then
start to respect that journey because it's not an easy one. Yeah,
some guys stayed with one team for their entire career,
but it's not that normal in the NBA for a
guy to stay his entire career one franchise. So it's
(30:02):
it's the Eye couple. Chris Brussar Rod Parker were joined
by Daniel Booby Gibson former Cleveland Cavaliers. Booby, you were
on those teams before Lebron went to Miami, where you
guys won sixty six games and oh nine sixty one
games in twenty ten. I personally thought you guys were
good enough, especially in twenty ten, to win a championship.
(30:24):
I don't think Lebron was mentally ready to lead a
team to a title. It kind of showed in his
first year in Miami. Um, what you think were those
teams good enough? When Lebron was struggling and they ended
that Boston series and everybody's wondering, Yeah, what were you thinking?
What was everybody thinking as that stuff's going on? What? Well,
like I hear like a lot of the slander when
(30:45):
they'd be like, oh, Bron never had anybody. The thing
about playing with a guy like Lebron is, yeah, you
want to have superstars with him, but you gotta have
players that six what he does right, and he created space.
And what we did have on those teams was guys
that defended at a high level, Guys that made shots
(31:06):
when they counted. It didn't matter what time of the
game it was. If he found somebody gets done, Yelle
Marshall's myself, Damon Jones. We were guys that were We
weren't afraid of the moment, and so to think about stats,
it's a little different because we just were primed for
the moment. I think that, yeah, we had an opportunity,
but we just ran up against Dug Night in San
Antonio that, like you said, I think after he went
(31:28):
to Miami and lost and saw what it takes to
to to to reach that moundtop, he just didn't know
it at that point and so he couldn't put us
over the top. But I think after that he realized
what it was. And now he's become the machine that
we've all that we all know and love, and it's
just unstoppable now because he knows exactly what it takes
(31:49):
to get there. Well, Booby, do you think that's why
maybe some of the Lakers are struggling? The younger Lakers, Yes, right, right,
even with last last year in the playoffs, Like, he
got players on his team. But it's one thing to
get players who without him they put up amazing numbers.
But when he's on the floor, he has the ball
(32:10):
a lot, and the way he makes players, you just
you gotta be prepared to not necessarily have a feel
for the game because you're not gonna be handling the
ball a lot, you know. So it just it takes
guys that understand their role. And I think that's why
when I think about the Lakers, they gotta ask some
type of shooting, They gotta ask some some pieces that
fit with what he does, because I think they got
(32:32):
the the defense and the athletic I mean, and all
of the position list basketball all the way covered. But
you gotta be able to make shots at the end
of the day, especially when it counts, and that's playoff time,
because yeah, it's it's gonna the courch do gonna get
smaller and guys are gonna have to be ready to
knock it down. And I just I don't really see
that from the Lakers right now. I know that your biased, Booby,
(32:54):
but try to be honest on this one. Is that
this discussion always comes up Michael Jordan versus Lebron James.
Who's better, Bob about Michael Jordan? I think, right, so
who's the goal, Booby Lebron? He doesn't listen to our station,
our show, so don't worry about it. Lebron is not listening.
(33:16):
You gotta listen, right, y'all. Gotta y'all, gotta, y'all got
a bad way. I know y'all want to the raw,
but I just don't think there's a raw, definitive, just
because when I think about Mike, people forget like then
he leave the league and score for like ten years,
ten years, yes, like that that's unimaginable, unfattenable at any level,
you know, and like Mike one consecutive championships and was
(33:39):
just I just I think Mike is the goal. But
when you think about the all around complete basketball player,
I believe braun Is it's better than Jordan when it
comes to that. So I just think whatever you whatever
your design of the of a basketball player is, that's
that's that's I think what we give you your answer.
(34:00):
Like for me, I like killers like Kobe and Jordan,
so I would pick Mike. But Jordan, but somebody with
all of the skills is just hard to say he's
not the greatest with all these a compan So I
know I'm on the face with it, but said it is,
you know what I mean. I compare Lebron more to
(34:21):
Magic than I do Jordan anyway, because Jordan was just
a bona fide killer and score and that's just not
who Lebron is. Booby, give man great job, Man, really
appreciate it. We may have you on again. I love
I love talking basketball and not just not just cleaning
the basketball, any type of I'm a junkie. So anytime
(34:44):
we want to, yeah, you guys want to top it
up and just you know, pick my brain. I'm I'm
here for it, alright, man. We would do that. We
will do that, and good luck with the music too.
Oh yeah, man, it's doing great. Thank you guys for
having all right booby happy Thanksgiving man, appreciate you too.

It's time for Bruce Art's Big six. Are you ready
the heat? Like Lebron, We're going big. It's go town,
(36:13):
It's Bruce Ards Big six. All right, guys, these are
my under the radar success stories. You know, we all
hear about Lebrin and Yannis and Kauai and all these guys,
But there are a lot of dudes taking care of
business under the radar. I'd like for you to dig
a little bit and not through the surface stuff that
everybody already right, Hey, I get I get under there,
(36:35):
I get under there. At number number six, min Traz Horrell.
Have you seen him? Rob six eight forward for the
Los Angeles Clippers. They canceled his talk show, didn't they?
Oh that was Montel. I'm sorry. He is balling fifteen
and a half points a game, that's a career high
seven rebounds a game, only plays twenty five minutes a
(36:56):
night off the bench, but leaves the Clippers and steals
and blocks. Montraz Horrell is getting it done. Number five
Chris Middleton from the Milwaukee Bucks. We all hear about
Yannis and even Malcolm Bragg. Then they say he's like
Barack Obama the president and all that. But Chris Middleton
(37:16):
six eight small forward, the second leading score on the Bucks,
giving you nineteen points a night, second in the Eastern Conference.
In no, the Bucks are second in the Eastern Conference,
and he's shooting forty two percent from three point range.
Number four Nick Kola Voussevich seven footer with the Orlando Magic. Now, Vossevich,
(37:43):
He's been putting up numbers for a while. The difference now, though,
is that they're winning. The Orlando Magic nine and nine.
They've won seven of their last ten games, and right
now they're seated seventh in the Eastern Conference. Vossevich giving
you twenty points, eleveny bounds, and three and a half
assist a night against Philadelphia, Los Angeles, San Antonio, and Boston.
(38:09):
Those are some of the teams that Orlando has beaten.
Number three Tobias Harris, that's right, a second Los Angeles Clipper.
But I'm so impressed with the Clippers. Right now, they're
eleven and six, they're the fourth seed in the Western Conference.
I know it's early. Tobias giving you career highs twenty
one point four points, eight point seven rebounds, shooting lights
(38:31):
out from three forty four fifty two percent Overall, the
Clippers won seven of their last nine rob five of
their last six. Hey, he came from the Pistons and
from Orlando. Tobias Harris is a ball up. He came
into Blake Griffin tray. That's right. Number two, This one's
gonna throw you for a loop. J B. Bickerstaff a coach.
(38:52):
I just saw Bickerstaff, his dad, Bertie at the Laker game.
I talked to him. You were telling about that his
son JB. Is doing a great job with the Memphis Grizzlies.
Nobody expected anything from them. They're finally healthy to have
Mike Conley and Marcus all are playing well. They're eleven
and five rob. They got the second best record in
(39:15):
the Western Conference. It's so funny. So JB. Bickerstaff could
do a lot with nothing. Huh. He's probably one of
those guys. He is one of those guys. They beat Minnesota, Milwaukee, Philadelphia, Denver,
and you talked twice, Wow, give it up for JB. Bickerstaff.
And at number one, I was this. I was wondering
(39:36):
if I should even put him on the list because
I'm not sure he's under the radar. He's been so
good that he's not really under the radar anymore, but
he doesn't get the ultimate love that the top point
guards in the league get. So you know who I'm
going with, robbing Kimba's right. Kimba Walker just dropped a
season high for the entire NBA sixty points on the
(40:00):
Philadelphia seventy sixers. Look, Philly's one of the better defenses
in the league. In three games against the Sixers, he's
averaging forty two points. Wow. And they're eight and eight,
so you know they're playing pretty decent basketball. But he
leads the league in scoring. I don't think it will
continue too long. That's why I wanted to give him
his love. Now. Another one and a half point New
York guards, right, Yeah, but he's the first one in
(40:21):
the wild to really paying out six assists the game.
Kimba Walker having a terrific season, and those are your
big six under the radar success. Very nice like that. Yeah,
I miss anybody, rob G. You want throwing the Lakers?
I was trying to think. Yeah, Lonzo Ball has two
points the last two games. Oh, I'm sorry. How about
(40:41):
former Lakers Julius Randall. He's been all right. He started out,
they've kind of you know, come back to Earth, New Orleans.
Are you concerned about Lonzo? Seriously? I don't think it's
His name is not even mentioned anymore. The days of
like worrying about Linzo or over. It's like get in
where you're fit in. If you don't, then we're gonna
(41:03):
move on and get somebody next year. Like you know
what I mean. Yeah, it's no longer rebuilding team that's
waiting for these young guys to jail. You gotta jump on.
You should be ready. I agree, and if you can.
If you can't hold on and can't keep up, then
so be it. But that's what it is, all right.

(42:15):
S one And speaking of social media again, another great segue,
Kevin Durant, He's already been in trouble or social media,
the Burner account. But when you say trouble, not real trouble,
it's just people, just embarrassings. There's no trouble to nobs. No,
there's no Internet police, no social media police. But the
(42:38):
burner account. Actually there was. For Philadelphia president Brian Colangelo,
he had a Burner account. It cost him his job. No,
that was his wife. Don't you remember his wife did
all that? Oh yeah, she's given team uh stories and
information about the team and ripping a player. You don't
believe it was his wife. Dude, you told would you
throw your wife Chris under the under the bus to
(43:00):
save your hide? Seriously? Look, would you? I don't know
what the truth is between that situation. That story don't
sound I'm guessing. I'm guessing I know Brian, and you
know I like Brian about liking somebody, right, I'm guessing
he went to his wife and said, look, I'll never
(43:22):
work again. My career will be finished. He should have
thought of that when he was doing the Burner account.
Take if you take the hit, I might be able
to survive. Would you do that? Would you ask your
wife to take a hit for you to do a
burner account? No, I'm asking you. Would you ask you why?
I don't think so. I mean, I can't think of
(43:43):
it a situation where that would come into play. I
could have done that, said, if I was still married,
I could have said my wife told me to say
that about RG three and then that's right. That's a
good one, that's right. I don't know if it would
have helped. It didn't help. Colandelot help, right, all right?
(44:07):
Kevin Durant started out a good day for him. You know,
story came out. He sat down with Yah, who reported
Chris Haynes, every day's a good day. He's dating Tyler Rooks. Well,
have you seen how you feel when I'm done explaining
this story? Uh? He tells Chris Haynes. Chris Haynes asked
him the question everybody wants to ask him. Is Draymond
(44:29):
Green going to impact your free agency decision to stay
in Golden State or go elsewhere? And here's what Durant said,
It won't factor. At the end of the day. I'm
just a ball player that's just trying to be in
a great environment to play basketball and groom my skills
every day, and I want to compete on the level
that once the game starts. I'm just totally comfortable with
(44:50):
my surroundings, with just going out there and being met
an there's a lot in there no I could ead into.
I could say, well, okay, is it a great environment
where your teammate repeatedly called you the B word and
and all that, and are you comfortable in those surrounded
(45:10):
I mean, you could read into it. But that's a
great answer. Here's the problem. A few hours later, at
some point this afternoon, he goes on the Instagram and
somebody with three hundred followers, Now, how is Kevin Durant
even finding these cats? Somebody with three hundred followers tweets
(45:35):
that the Warriors should now not tweet. He posts on
Instagram that the Warriors should trade Dremond Green and guess
who likes it. That's right, easy money sniper. In other words,
Kevin Durand maybe you know he has long fingers. Maybe
(45:57):
by accident, he just hit the light thing. He just
happen to be scrolling through what was his name? Robgi
said said it's easy said or something like that, something
like that. You had three hundred followers. He just happened
to be scrolling through. That guy. Because you don't have
one hundred million followers doesn't mean you're not important. Chris
is everything size. I don't know where you're going what
(46:21):
I'm just saying, right, I'm just saying, Chris, you brought
it up. You got two You're the defending two time
NBA champion, You're the defending finals NBA champion two times over.
And you Taylor Rooks, and you worried about what said
(46:44):
with three hundred followers? Is instagrammy why? And here's the
beyond that? Okay, if you just addicted to social media,
so be it. Look you and I are older, you
know we're not. We didn't grow up in this social
media age. Duran's twenty nine years old. We were out
playing ball right until he got too and obviously he
(47:06):
was too. He but but he has grown up with
his phone attached to his hand. Okay, so I'm not
gonna judge him for that. That's not no crime. And
being really into social media, but why is he concerned
(47:28):
about these minor people and what they're saying about him? Uh?
And here's the thing, Rob, He's already been burned. The
Burner account burned him. Even if you are addicted to
social media, you should know better. You're you're Kevin Durant.
(47:48):
You got over twenty five million followers. I believe you
know that they are Uh in social media police, Rob,
you don't get in trouble, but they try to embarrass you.
They out you, and you should know somebody was going
to see that easy money Sniper liked this post where
(48:10):
you post you liked a post about them trading Draymond Green.
He can't help himself. I mean, that's obvious. He can't
help himself. This is who he is. He's addicted to it.
I've said it before. During the offseason, he should be
in Europe, somebody feeding them grapes. He has a great
life going. But obviously there's some self doubt and he
(48:34):
needs confirmation from other people. There are people like that
who are very successful, yet they still want to know
what other people think about them. Well, I think a
lot of highly successful people be surprised, yeah, insecure or sensitive,
and when you're that sensitive, you do need you need consistent,
if not constant, affirmation, you know. And that's why I
(48:58):
wonder if KD can how can he stomach being in
that locker room when a guy that was one of
your better friends on the team and a guy you
confided in obviously right, right, and he's a guy that
is arguably the inspirational leader of that organization and that team,
and he just called you out incredibly and the whole
(49:19):
world knows about But I do believe when he says
it's not going to alter his plan to leave or whatever,
because we already knew, whether it be this year or
next year, that he was going to leave, I don't
think that that's a shocker, don't you think? I mean? Yeah,
because that was the always the plan. You kind of
(49:40):
got that feeling him and Dremond could be on the
best of terms, and he's still a problems. He still
would have bounced because the time had either come now
or next year if he wanted to get into one
year at the new arena that they helped build because
of that franchise and the winning and all the other stuff,
especially if they want to get in this year. It
was three in a roll and at a hands. Yeah,
(50:01):
maybe for four in a row and maybe the Lakers
thing isn't you know, coming coming together? You know what
I'm saying. They looked at it and said, well, we
could do four and then I could bounce and go
do my own thing. We have a quote, rob Gee
from Kevin Durant. Is this a new quote? Now? Now
this is a continuation of the Chris Haynes article. Now
(50:21):
he posted a video of it. Guys, they had to
sit down for Yahoo. Yep. This is his quote talking
about the fan who was heckling him in the stands.
I got him that twenty five thousand dollars. Fine, is Katie,
grown man can come to a game and heckle grown men.
That's corny, that's weak. You come into a game to
heckle another grown man. You're gonna go to sleep as
(50:42):
a grown man doing that to another person. So Kad
and his Twitter fingers and his Instagram sensitivity is calling
another person corny and weak. He this is the thing.
I don't understand. What planet is he from. He's played
ball his whole life, seriously, like like a heckler. You're
(51:04):
bothered by it. I mean, you're going up there making shots.
You've been in all kinds of environments where people said
you stink, mister free throw. Look at you, skinny, look
at you, peasy head. I'm sure he's hurt everything and
even worse than what I just said, right, Chris, No.
So somebody's sitting there who obviously had some money to
buy those tickets to sit up that close, right, probably
(51:27):
a lawyer, a doctor, or somebody with some uh, some
big nickels uh is writing you to try to get
under your skin. That's what he's trying. That's what he's
trying to do. And you allow him to do that.
And I think I don't get it because the reports
were that Kevin Durant went to the referee about it.
The referee didn't do anything about it. If it was
that it's not, if it's not vulgar exactly, if it
(51:49):
was that bad, the referee's gonna say something. Yes, the referee,
the refs refuse to do it, so it couldn't have
been that you can't throw fans out if he's not
vulgar racist and the guys just and heckling has been
a part of professional sports ever since the words. And
the thing I don't like is that KD like don't
(52:11):
go at the fan and it under any circumstances, it
wouldn't have been right to go after a fan for
calling you a cupcake. And even if he said, I
think he said he called him. I saw the interview
you're talking about. Rob g think he said he called
him to B word and all that, but we all
know that Draymond was calling you that you didn't do anything.
(52:35):
And I'm not saying you gotta be you know, Mike Tyson,
everybody's not gonna be that tough. And I'm not jumping,
but I'm just saying you you jump on a fan,
but your teammate was in your face saying it in
the locker room when you could at least step to him,
and you didn't do anything. Right, according to reports, you
(52:56):
didn't do anything, So don't step to the fan a
few days for saying much less that that just got
a good look and Rob. One of the differences between
KYD and Lebron is that I think Lebron had a
little sensitivity too, But Lebron recognized it before. After he
(53:18):
lost to Dallas in twenty eleven and had that meltdown,
he did something about it. He got off social media,
not watching television, none of that during the playoffs. Just
can you see their end result? He's won three championships
since then, lost six, but no, not since then, he's
lost stop four? Uh right, k D? May I mean
(53:43):
KD can do it right now because he seems like
he's addicted. He needs to just get off. I can't
let that stuff bother you. And I always see all
that stuff. I used to tell young players who came
into Detroit, you know, like meet the columns and you
talk to him and stuff like that, and not always
say the radio shows, the TV sports shows and the
(54:04):
newspaper cups. That's for the fans. It's not for you.
It's for the fans. So you should just understand that.
And once you get over that, you'll be fine. If
you're reading that stuff and listening to that stuff, it'll
drive you crazy because there'll be the good days when
when when you're getting stroked and feeling great, and then
there'll be a lot of other other days when things
(54:26):
aren't going your way. Yeah, I think you need to
know what type of person you are. You know, if
there are some people who can read all types of
criticis people when people write stuff about criticize you, do
you read it. I generally know. I mean, I've read
criticisms of me, but like on Twitter, I really don't.
I don't. I'm not always I just don't have that
(54:47):
much time to read every It's just not a part
of my lifestyle. I mean, I'm I'm I'm older, I'm good,
I'm good where I am. I understand that everybody's not
gonna like you. Everybody's not gonna agree with you. Everybody's
not gonna think you're the best guy on the radio
on telling I get all that. I'm not bothered by that.
As long as I have my facts correct, I'm good.
(55:08):
Whether you agree or disagree well and and a lot
of times you don't have your facts correct, but you
still keep rolling. What are you trying? No? But but
I'm saying, but I think you have to be thank you.
I think you have to be, like I said, know
what type of person. I think Michael Jordan's was the
type of guy that could read all the criticism, know
what's out there, and go out and be motivated by it.
(55:31):
I think Lebron James realized, you know, I got voices
in my head. I'm hearing all this stuff. I'm reading
all of it. I need to cut it out and
beat That's how I'm gonna be the better player. Kevin Durant.
I will say this about Durant. It is not negatively
impacted his ability on the court. That's one thing I
have to give him. Like if he's always on social
(55:53):
media seeing what people are saying about him, negative and
yeah he plays. Look it's up to him. He can
do it all he wants. I'm just saying I think
he'd be much happier if he just left that mess alone.
Rob g did they did they announce Lebron? What kind
of reception did we hear? Standing ovation? It should be?
(56:14):
Should be loved people in Cleveland that week? Stop? Actually,
you know a credit to the PA announcer. He gave
him the Lebron Games welcome like he was a cavalier.
And didn't they do didn't they do a video tribute?
I did not see that. Look Rob, it should they
gave him what he deserved. It should have been nothing
but love. Seriously, if your wife game on your TWE
(56:37):
title in fifty two years, no that fifty two years,
that's what gets him a pass and they'll just be
fine with it. But it's just for the guy to
walk out on you twice. He didn't that. No other Cavalier,
no Brown, no other Indian, no other member of the
Cleveland Crunch ever did I don't know if he won
(56:58):
the title. But soccer team, what was what was it?
Did they have a they had a hockey team at
one point. Didn't they have Barons or I don't know. Yeah,
the Cleveland Barons, but none of them won championships except
Lebron Me come on, man, you it wasn't I got
the last time. Like you said, they were upset, they
were heartbroken the time. Man, come on, it was like,
hey man, you delivered. You did what you said you
(57:21):
were going to do. You gave us eleven incredible years,
four really exciting years on the back end, and somehow
Kaylee got us a championship. So it was really it
was good man, let it go. That was eleven years ago.
Two thousand and seven. I know Chauncey got outplayed. Now
are you still in your feelings? It has nothing to
(57:43):
do with that. What are you talking? I know, I
don't care about that. You used to love Lebron until then.
What they really wrote put forty eight on your boys.
The Pistons had nothing to do with me. That was
the team that I covered as a columnist. I'm not
wouldn't even the beat guy every day. I was a
calumnist for the Detroit News. Kevin Durant is back in
(58:05):
his feelings like my man Rob Parker. But will it
be enough to derail the Warriors this season? NBA champion
Eddie House has the answer. Next, it's the Eye Couple

(59:30):
Eddie was up man, Welcome to the eye. Happy Thanksgiving, guys.
I know tomorrow, but I want to give it to
you early man doing great man. Happy Thanksgiving. Hey, Eddie,
this story just broke. I don't know if you heard it,
so I want to give it to you and tell
me your reaction. So they're going to put a statue
up of Lebron outside the que except for in one
(59:51):
hand he's gonna have a suitcase in the other hand.
A play ticket is you're gonna find a way to
bring it up, bring to hate some kind of way
on't That was one of his better jokes. That was right, right, right,
(01:00:12):
all right, I'll talk. What how do you think the
fans now, they cheered Lebron tonight. They gave him a
standing ovation. I thought it was appropriate. I don't think
they should have been upset at all this time when
he left. Disappointed, but not upset what you think. I
think they did the right thing bringing a championship to Cleveland.
And I don't know how many years it was, to
(01:00:34):
be honest with you, over fifty two for auto majors.
That's just that's just so long. I mean, that's how long.
That's eons a go, you know, as they say back
in the day, But um, you have to give him
respect and give him his credit for what he's done,
not only for what he's done for for just the cast,
but for that city overall. You know, it's just it
(01:00:55):
actually changed the morale of a whole city and how
people view Cleveland for for long period of time. Yeah, no,
I get it, and I understand fans and if he
didn't have the championship, it would be a different story
if he had left again without getting a job done.
It's easier to cheer after guy wins your championship. But
just what about the Lakers and their young players. Is
(01:01:17):
it a good thing that Lebron's going off for fifty
points and playing the way he's playing or is he
holding them back a little bit? At he looks like
h Ingram hasn't been the guy most people thought he
was gonna be able to flourish with Lebron. Lonzo's falling
off the map. What's going on with the younger Lakers
playing with Lebron? They gotta get their game up. They
(01:01:39):
gotta get their game up. That's the bottom line. It
was the problem was early on when they were losing.
Is Lebron's not aggressive enough? And you know when now
he gets aggressive, they start winning. Now you want to
people want to poke holes and the fact that they're
winning that he's being aggressive and is he holding these guys?
But if he's holding them back, then you gotta get
(01:02:00):
rid of them. They need to get on his level
and they need to get on his train. And however
fast is moving, you got to pick your feet up
a little faster, a little higher, and make sure that
you run in at the same speed he is, because
if not, I mean, you're you're You're gonna be expensible.
Number one. Number two is it's just showing you can
you even grow? Can you make it in this league?
I mean it should be extremely easy for these young
(01:02:22):
guys to play with him, and especially to learn from
one of the best to ever play the game. Well,
is that is that disappointing as far as Ingram? Because
Lebron went out of his way to talk about Ingram
and you know what he potentially could be and he's
been disappointing. Why do you think that is? I don't know.
I just something about Ingram. It's just it's head scratching
(01:02:44):
to me. It looks like he might be one of
those guys. It's guys in the league that dan. I
could be wrong, but that get numbers on bad teams.
You put them in with a good team and they're
just not able to be the same type of player.
I think with the way that Lebron play and you're
gonna have to play around Lebron, Ingram is not a
good fit for the reason that he stops the ball
(01:03:05):
a lot. He's a ball stopper. He is a really
good talent. But again you use the word potential, and
what is his potential We don't know yet, So the
unknown to me, I like to have gnomes as far
as unknown. Potentially he can be this, but potentially he
can't be. So I look at it as they just
gotta get their game up. Man. They just all got
(01:03:25):
to play better, and they played well in's first. They
just got to figure out how to do it consecutively,
consecutive games and for a long period of time, and
not just stretches in games. Eddie Golden State. We know
about the Durant Kevin Durant Draymond situation. They've lost three
straight games since, already gone one in three since that
(01:03:46):
incident and lost their last three games. They're obviously in
the funk. How long I know they got injury steps out,
Draymond's out, but clearly they're in the funk as well.
How long do you think it will be before this
thing wears off? And I don't know if they can
get back to normal, but certainly get back to the
point where it's not having any effect on them on
the basketball court. Very nice when Steph gets back, because
(01:04:09):
the offense is a total different type of offense. When
he's out there, everybody has a lot more freedom, a
lot more space to operate. He's the catalyst of this
offense as great as Kevin Durant is, and what he does.
What he did was just give them an opportunity to
get baskets when they weren't able to get basket in
finals for them to win. That's that's the only difference
(01:04:30):
Kevin durant is. But you have to go play through
and everybody knows this Steph Curry. He does so many
things because he not just a shooter. Everybody highlights how
great of a three point shooter is. He's a hell
of a playmaker and a great finisher either hand in
traffic without traffic. He has every array of shots that
you could think of around the basket where he can
(01:04:51):
make himself. Once he gets healthy, then that's when I
want to see is this team because he's usually the
cohesiveness that sticks this team to keep this team stuff together.
Now when he comes back, are they gonna still have
that same collective mindset of Hey, we're gonna be the
best team, or oor guy's gonna start going their separate ways.
So I want to see is he gonna be the
(01:05:11):
glue that keeps them together or is he gonna be
strong enough to do it or not? Eddie, how surprised
are you that? Uh? You know, Kevin Durant already's been
burnt on the social media with a burner phone and
all this. And then it came out that he liked
uh some guy who put up a Twitter a tweet
saying that they should trade about trading Draymond Green? Did
(01:05:34):
you see and he liked it? Did you see that today? Yeah? No,
I didn't see that today. But just if he liked it,
this was after you know, he didn't sit down with
Yahoo and he said, Draymond, that incident is not gonna
affect his free agency. And then and then a few
hours later he was it on Instagram liked and Instagram
(01:05:55):
post we're just some random kid with three hundred followers
that they should trade Draymond and KD liked it. Well,
you know what, everybody isn't tire of to like whatever
they want to like. I know the message that it
sins and I told you that you guys this a
couple of weeks back. Well, when it when it first happens,
the Warriors, you are lying in the stand and it
(01:06:16):
seems like they're siding with k D. And if it
comes to and you got to get rid of this
guy to keep me, we all know what's gonna happen.
So I don't think that it's cool. As a player,
you don't want to do that. You want to let
everybody into your dirty house, because right now it looks
like the House of the Warriors isn't as clean as
everybody thought it was, So just to give a glimpse
(01:06:39):
inside that dirty house that they're starting to that it
seems like that's what's happening over there right now. Is
it's not a good look. I don't think it's a
good look for KD. It's not a good look for
the team at all. But I mean, I don't know.
I think KD at times is just sensitive man, and
I always want to get the last lab and he
used it through his Twitter fingers, you know, And um,
I think that's part of the reason why Draymond was
(01:07:00):
so upset and went at him the way he did.
So it is surprising, but not from him. It's the
eye couple. Chris Brussar, Rod Parker, Fox Sports Radio. We're
joined by NBA champion Eddie House, Eddie. The Celtics are
down by twenty one points to the Knicks right now.
They've lost two straight games. They're playing in Boston. Kyrie's
(01:07:24):
been putting up good numbers lately, big numbers, but they've
been losing. Their offense is just completely different with him.
What do you think we've talked before about like the
chemistry issues there, the egos. Now, what do you think
this team needs to do? They need to This is
Brad Stevens. Everybody I talked about this last week as well,
(01:07:47):
about everybody annointing Brad Stevens and being the best coaching
the boy. Let's see this is now another layer of coaching.
Let's start. Let's peel back to exits and old. Let's
get to the fact of managing egos, manager in minutes,
making sure you got you're putting guy a unit out
there that's that's gonna work together. So I think, you know,
(01:08:08):
and guys aren't happy. I heard Terry Rose years not
happy over there. Uh you know, Gordon Hayward's not playing well,
but you know he needs to step it up. You know.
We it's guys aren't playing well over there right now,
and it seems like the way that they played last year,
everybody was just trying to find their way and just
was playing and the ball was rolled out and everybody
(01:08:30):
gave their all. Right now it's like who is gonna
be at the top of the totem pole, who's next.
Everybody's trying to find out where they're at in their
roles are being defined, and it's getting further and further
along in the season. So I have to point my
finger to Brad Stevens and say, hey, Brad Stevens, what
are you gonna do to correct is Because you have
the talent obviously out there on the court. What are
(01:08:51):
your adjustments gonna be practice wise? How are you gonna
find out what what team works well with what team
and what guys are best with with certain units. Those
are the things that I'm gonna be looking at it,
and I need to know this is how he's gonna
earn his money right now, because this is gonna be
the toughest task of Brad Stevens right now of his
early NBA head coaching career. Eddy, what about the Philadelphia
(01:09:14):
with the addition of Jimmy Butler, could Ben Simmons be
like the odd man out there or is that going
to work with those three or is it just enough
for two guys to really uh, you know, obviously you
need other pieces, but I mean to be the main pieces. Well,
Jimmy Butler overshadow him. I think this is the thing
(01:09:34):
we know. We all love scoring, right, and that's where
the NBA is going, right, the NFL going is exciting.
Everybody wants to see that. And Jimmy Butler is a
guy that can get buckets. He can score the one
niche that Ben Simmons has that nobody else. He just
has the ability to create for and is he's so big,
but its lack of his lack of ability to be
(01:09:58):
able to score the basketball, to shoot the basketball, it's
gonna hinder him. So if you have to make a decision,
you have to go with somebody that if if he's
putting points and putting baskets in the bucket and putting
points on the scoreboard for us, that is sometimes more
valuable than a guy that's able because that you can
just set guys up because now you could just back
up off of you, you could force him to take shots,
(01:10:20):
You could game plan for that. If you you have
a guy that can't shoot, you can game plan for that.
We have a guy that can create his own shot
mid range. And I really love Jimmy Butler's mid range
game because that's a lost art. I think he's one
of the best in the league right now having the
range games, so that there a premium to me. I
mean that a mere range jump shot is almost like
throwing the ball into the post now back in the
day and getting the easy basket. All right, Eddie, great
(01:10:44):
job as all the knowledge, and uh have a great
Thanksgiving man. You cooking the turkey out back, we're just
doing We're just doing the ham man. We're doing a
ham because that the turkey had a little the Jenny
Old break out break. So you know, they said you
can get sick for meating turkey, so we ain't gonna
(01:11:04):
mess with it. This really no turkey. Yeah you haven't
seen that. Check that out. It's not one thousand pounds
of a recall a turkey meat man. Really, you're Alex
Alex up there yelling I've had my turkey sitting on
the counter for four days. No, good man, it's probably
not good. Hey, it's probably a no goal. Hey. Hey,
(01:11:28):
one last thing, Well, sweet potato pie, pumpkin pie. I
just pumpkin pie is gross to me. Um sweep. But
come on, man, don't you ask me a question. I'm like,
Bernie Mac, have you ever heard that joke about his
sweet potato pie? Oh? You need to I can't give
it to you. You know how Burnie Mack gets off.
I'm like, yeah, man, I ain't never had no punkin pie, Chris,
(01:11:51):
Chris swears my pumpkin pot stop. I prefer sweet potato
pie too, But pumpkin pie is good. Pumpkin pie, say,
it's even like bean pie. And he I was telling
him like some bean Rob was getting scared. He thought
it was too militant to the only problem. You thought
a final call was coming with the bean I'm not
(01:12:14):
giving up two dollars for that, just for a slice
of bean pie. All right, Eddy man, I have a great,
great weekend. You two man, one of my favorite people.
That yes, yes, indeed, all right. More of the Eye
Couple coming up, but first let's get to Damn Carson
for the latest in sports. Sweet potato pie, pumpkin pot
(01:12:35):
or bean pie. I mustn't I admit I have never
had bean pie. I am from the South, are big
on both the pumpkin pie and a sweet potato pie
and the pecan pie. Yeah, peca. My mother likes pecan
co I'm not. I don't like my I don't like
fruits and nutsh and cakes mixed together. Like I never
(01:12:55):
liked fruitcake. I never even tried it. No, I don't
like fruits and cakes mixed together. Thinking like apple pie.
Oh my god, what are you saying? Apple pie? I
like apple Chris, he's not American, But are you talking
about that Americans? Apple pie? You don't like? My first
Chevrolet was a bad car. I hate. I'm sorry sure
(01:13:19):
about that. Yeah it was. I was in the in
the uh in the car shop every month with not
a spot. But but but we're sure if they're going
to become a spot, they probably have improved on their
problems since ago. Yeah, this one will try it out.
I'll gladly try it out absolutely well. Lebron James returned
to Cleveland as a member of the Lakers after leaving
(01:13:40):
the Calves twice. And this is Lebron's player introduction six
eight forward from Saint Mary High School Welcome Home twenty three.
Lebron sets, I wasn't that impressive, overwhelmingly positive. Do you
(01:14:01):
think that's over Well? That was the Lakers playwife Lakers
to look, we're gonna settle something. What that was not great?
Did Lebron abandoned Cleveland turn his back on Cleveland twice? Yes,
I say the first time. I think they perceived that
he did. But the guy has a right to take
(01:14:22):
a gig in another town. We fans have a right
to boo. Yes they do. They absolutely. I just don't
think he abandoned, not the first time. If you want
to say that, fine this time. I don't think this
was abandonment. No, No, they stunk. No, he wanted to
move on and and he was afraid, and he delivered
his championship. He wanted to go down La. Rob Parker
wanted to go to La. They're sharaph sat in Detroit,
(01:14:43):
Rod they were burning copies of his old article. But
when he laughed Detroit. No, they had a big party
one on last they did, by the way, they did
during a break in the first quarter. They did play
a video tribute as well, And it looked like he
kind of looked up at first, but then tried to
ignore because he was going to get emotional. So it is,
(01:15:04):
by the way, nodded at twenty two apiece for the
Lakers and the Cavaliers a minute to go in the
first quarter. Halftime in Atlanta, Raptors lead the Hawks fifty
five forty four. Also halftime in Boston, Knicks up sixty
five forty seven. In college hoops, Gonzaga handed Number one
Duke It's first loss of the season eighty nine eighty
seven Gonzaga with the win there halftime. Number two Kansas
(01:15:25):
trails Marquette a forty seven thirty eight lead for Marquette
over Kansas, And finally, guys, you may recall that during
the Dodgers NLCS series, Amni Machado responded to criticism for
not running out a groundball by saying he's not the
type of player that's going to be Johnny hustle and
run down the line and slide to first base. Well,
now that he's a free agent and likely soon to
(01:15:46):
be on the receiving end of one of the richest
free agent contracts in baseball history, he spoke with MLB
dot Com tried to clarify what he meant by the contract.
He explained, quote, there's a difference between fake hustle for
show and being someone who tries hard to win. I've
always been the guy who does whatever he can to
win for his team. End quote. Oh yeah, we're about
to talk about that as ironic that you was. He's like,
(01:16:09):
hold on, how'mby Johnny? Johnny? Are you gonna pay me millions? Yes?
All right, thank you very much. You bet. When your
mouth starts to affect your money, Rob, it's time to
stop talking. We'll explain as you said. Next, it's the

(01:17:40):
All Right, deb Carson mentioned it, Manny Machado. Now here's
what I envisioned Rob his agent calling Manny on the telephone,
or having Manny come in and sit in his office
and saying, Manny, we got a problem. Well, a lot
(01:18:02):
of teams think you don't want to hustle comments. Don't
forget how Steinbrenner went on the record, Umbert said, and
they were. They could have been the biggest spender of them.
All right, Yank's got plenty of money to spend, and
they're like how Steinbrenner is like, I would need that
clarified before we can make a deal with Manny Machado.
(01:18:23):
What does that mean? Because it wasn't a good look
when he said it was dumb. It's just it's just
I don't I don't know what other words to use.
Manny Machado is a star. He's a great player. Okay,
the team that gets him will be lucky to have him.
But that just didn't make any sense when you talk
about you're always better off by just saying I gotta
(01:18:46):
do better. I need to hustle, you know what I mean.
Had I hustled and not, you know, watch that ball
to left field, I could have got a double instead
of watching it, you know what I mean, thinking it
was a home run and I got a hustle. That's all.
People understand that you didn't hustle. You make it, you
you wear it, you own it, Chris, that you didn't hustle,
(01:19:06):
and you gotta do better, that's all. Here's the thing,
Rob Did Derek Jeter hustle all the time? Did Michael
Jordan hustle all the time? Does Lebron James hustle all
the time? So so Manny, like you said, he's great,
he's a great player. He's not as good as them,
and they hustled you. Nobody is too good not to hustle.
(01:19:28):
I'm sorry, And I like Manny is a terrific player.
I do like his swagger, but I gotta admit I
was turned off during the World Series and the playoffs,
the dirty plays, the lack of hustle. This comment you know.
I just he got a lot of red flags. Man,
(01:19:48):
I understand that. But his numbers are so off the charts.
It's not gonna stop somebody from signing them. No, but
it might a little bit. That's what he's worried about.
He's gonna get signed. But right, isn't that what he's
worried about. Yeah, I mean, that's why it came out
to clarify, to put this out there, because he knows
there's an issue, and you don't want to eliminate. Also,
(01:20:09):
if you eliminated the Yankees say we're good, We're all right,
we're not interested. Now of a sudden other team go like, well,
we don't have to pay us so much because the
Yankees on in the mix. So and still not you
know what I mean. If teams drop out, then all
of a sudden, you want the Yankees to be involved,
whether they sign you or not. Right, if the Yankees
are out, the Dodgers are out. Right, there's two of
(01:20:30):
the biggest market who you got Philadelphia. Philadelphia got money
to spend and give it to Bryce. But they're talking
about four hundred to five hundred to Bryce. But they
claim they have enough money to do both. The Atlanta
Braves have a payroll of fifty something million. Does he
want to go there? They want the division, They got
a young team. Uh you know, so I don't know.
Maybe Atlanta's in the mix. They have money to spend.
(01:20:53):
How much does because you know, in the NBA, we
know winning plays a lot a large role in three
A decisions baseball because of the nature of the game.
Don't you think it's different. Absolutely, I would be looking
at you get a perfect example. Robinson Cano left the
Yankees because they offered them over two hundred million, but
(01:21:14):
not what Seattle offered them, Yeah, to forty or something
like that. And I think it was a mistake. And
and you know the difference is I think it was
two it was twofold. Part of disrespect why the Yankees
didn't want to pay him. I remember he was criticized
early in his career because he was so laxed, even
(01:21:35):
though he's a great player, Like you know, he was
just nonchalant. But also I think he had already won
a championship that two thousand and nine teams, so it
wasn't like he's leaving the Yankees and he never won. Okay,
let me know what I mean. Would you rather be
because I know you've always tended to lean towards just
going to the highest bidder, right, would you rather be
in New York, well known, you know, um, maybe winning
(01:22:00):
championships or at least one maybe, but you know you're
well right, very a household name, or in Seattle making
a little more two hundred million or two forty I
would rather be in New York. I got you. I
bet it was a hard decision for him to make,
but I don't think he understood how much he was
gonna fall off the radar, you know, and you're playing Seattle.
(01:22:22):
Everybody didn't get to see your play, right. A couple

for a free rate quote. And Lebron James is making
his return Rod Parker to Cleveland tonight. Uh, the game
is pretty close. It doesn't look like Lebron's out to
put on much of a show. The score right now,
cal Are actually up thirty seven thirty one in the
second quarter. So Lebron's taking a night off, is that
(01:23:05):
what he's doing? A rare night off. He got nine
points to assists, five rebounds, so you know, it's probably
tired from all the stuff he did today and all
the people he saw. He went to his school, you know,
Roll Academy. So yeah, which is a great thing. But
I don't think they'll lose, you know, it is a
great thing. And what I want to say, right we
(01:23:27):
talked about Kevin Durant and the social media and I said,
I think that's a difference between him and Lebron. Is
he he is more sensitive than Lebron. There's no question
about that. But Lebron recognized that, you know what, it's
probably best for me if I get off social media
during the playoffs. And so he started going zero dark
(01:23:49):
thirty and not just social media, but watching SportsCenter and
and all the talk shows, debate shows, all that. He
does none of that during the playoffs. And since he
started doing that, he won three championship. I think k
D needs to do that. But beyond that, Rob, can
we stop with the noise that Kevin Durant has surpassed
(01:24:11):
Lebron James as the best player in the world because
the Golden State Warriors with the great Kevin Durant, and
he is great and he is their best play But
why is Kevin Durant not not considered the greatest when
he's beating Lebron. It's a team sport. It's a team
sport because he's beating Lebron in the finals. But he
(01:24:34):
has to me he's a better individual player. He has
Steph Kurry and Clay Thompson and Draymond Green with him. Yeah,
but Larry Nance Junior rob stop Kyle Oh no, it's
Kyle Cover. He had Dwayne Wade and uh Chris Bosh.
(01:24:56):
He beat Kevin Durant. He also lost, So did that
loving I'm just saying he lost. Okay, When twenty eleven,
when Dirk Naviski beat the Miami Heat in the finals,
was Dirk better than Lebron? He was a better player
than Lebron James for that series. And I'm talking about
for that series. Kay, If you want to say Kevin
(01:25:16):
Durant was a better player in the finals, I'd still
argue that because Lebron was averaging a triple dumblow number,
a hollow number, hollow because because he didn't have the
Kellaliers won one game in those two finals. Those are
hollow numbers. Those are just filling the states. They weren't
nearly as good of a team as Golden State, but
(01:25:38):
a team Kevin Durant. Look, let me read you something.
Since you know and I like Durant. Look, I'm a
f I don't love him, but I like him. I
like him, all right. Look the Warriors Steph Curry with staff,
they are ten and two without him there, two and
four and Kevin Durant play, He's in those games, they
(01:26:01):
average eighteen more points a game when Curry's on the floor.
They're twenty and eleven with Kevin Durant and no Steph
Curry in Durant's tenure. In Golden State, they're twenty four
and three with Steph and no KD in Durant's tenure. Now,
I'm not saying that to rip Kevin Durant. Saying that's
(01:26:22):
say Lebron James is better than Kevin Durant. Right now,
I don't know. I'm not convinced to that. Now. Durand
cannot control a game like Lebron can He can't. I've
seen him beat up on Lebron and be beating up
Lebron will get thirty seven and lose. How that beating
up on because Kevin Durant will get the most meaningful
(01:26:43):
buckets at the big opportunities. That's all. And Lebron's passing
to Cole Corver. You got other guys to worry about.
You gotta worry about Steph Curry. You have to Rodney
Hood or somebody. I thought you love those guys. You're
just bragging about how great they are. No, I told
you they were no good when they traded for him.
I told you that. So Lebron have teammates who were
(01:27:04):
no good. But he's you're gonna blame him for losing
to Kevin Durant, Steph Curry and Clayton. I'm just saying,
the best teams in NBA history. It is what it is, Lebron.
Could have you ever hear an upset? Have you ever
heard of twenty sixteen? Twenty sixteen? Us all? I'm just saying, yeah, Kyrie,
did upset helped up? Look at you Black Skip Bailey
(01:27:26):
stopping You are unbelievable. You are you? You look, k
D is great, but when you watch them without Steph,
he plays a lot like Lebron. The offenses running through him.
He's bringing the ball up cord, He's making a lot
of plays, but he can't control the tempo like Lebron
(01:27:48):
James can't. It's a simplest that I got all that
I still would take. If you ask me who I
would take uh to try to win up a championship,
I would take Kevin Duran about the last shot I'm
talking about to win a championship, I would take Kevin
Durant over the I didn't Kevin Durant win any before
he joined the seventy three. He could have if he
would have stayed there. Yeah, if he would have stayed there,
(01:28:09):
he would have won. I believe that because they jobbed
him when he when he almost beat Lebron. Do you
remember he got foul in that they lost four nothing
jobs five games because it wasn't the five games, you
left five games. They won game one in that series
in the finals, and then Lebron fouled him at the
(01:28:29):
end of the game in Oklahoma City, no respect, didn't
give him the call. They lose that game and they
just was a good hard No, no, that was a foul.
You know it. Back from that he threw the towel
and he was young like Lebron did when when they
lost to Dallas, Lebron like he had a meltdown. Kevin
(01:28:50):
Durant would never play that poorly as Lebron did. Well,
never look, Lebron played poorly there. I I can't defend
what You can't be great when you play that poor.
He's not great. No, I'm talking about all time great.
He's not at all time great. I'm talking about the greatest.
You know, Kevin Durant is not the greatest either. Yeah,
but he's better than Lebron. I'm just saying your rankings.
(01:29:10):
Kevin Durand's gonna be hired than Lebron all time. He
beats Lebron again, yeah, at some point that again, if
Kevin Durant, Kevin Durant wins two more, take two more
championships in a row and as the MVP, and those
two and those two five the Warriors. Even it's a
little different winning it with the Warriors. But you're not
(01:29:31):
just latching his his his wagon to the Warriors. He's
been the MVP. I'm just saying if he won four
straight finals MVP, you would you would? You don't think
he would be better than to see how things play? No,
I'm asking you. I'm telling you what scenario. No, you
don't have to see how I play. No, let me
ask you if if, what if he goes to the
(01:29:52):
Lakers and wins and Lebron No, that that's not gonna happen,
and that would be terrible. I'm telling you he won
two more championships Brown's got three with the War straight
would be right, but he won all four MVPs since
coming over to the WARS. I mean Kareem only won
two finals MVPs. I'm not talking about this name. What
(01:30:13):
I'm saying, does that mean he wasn't like you almost
try to take those titles away from him? Not trying
to take him away. I'm just asking you, like, like,
I don't really care. What don't you understand? Am I
speaking swahially? What part don't you understand? I know Swahili?
So no, you're not. How about pig Latin? What I
(01:30:33):
don't understand is how in the world you can think
Kevin Durant is better than Lebron James. I don't know
every time they play. The brand is great. But but
he's got a better supporting cast, He's got a better coach.
It's about the bones, It's about the structure. You already
know it, all right. You gotta have the bones. You
gotta have the structure. Eight seven seven ninety nine on
(01:30:53):
Fox is off phone eight seven seven nine ninety six
sixty three sixty nine. If you want to weigh in
on it, Look, I love Kevin Durant, one of the
best players in the world, not better than Lebron, and
we're seeing that right now as the Warriors go through
this three game slide, lost four their last five. Lebron
(01:31:14):
controls the game better does Moore. Let's start off with
g W and Cincinnati. GW Welcome to the Odd Couple. Hey,
they playing my song? I mean they're playing Rob Parkers song.
How are you doing, Chris? How you doing? Rob? I'm good,
Bro Blue Rob Transman sensitivity. I love it. Hey, Chris,
(01:31:35):
think about it. Man, you really can't argue with a
guy who would actually say that having a triple double
in NBA Finals are hollow numbers. I mean, that might
be the most ridiculous statement ever made on sports talk
radio with all your respect. All right, thanks, thanks, g W,
great call. Thanks what do you mean? Thanks? Thanks? Happy? Thanks?
N You're like thanks, you want to give out the criticism?
(01:32:03):
Thank thank no, no, no fake thank you Chris. No,
you can't talk to christ Hang. Hey, g W, don't
call anymore. Stop all right, your actor is overstop. Thank you? Hey,
uh Na, you're not gonna call up here every day
(01:32:24):
and do that. It's it's tired, g W. The show
is called The Odd Couple. We're robbing Chris, Chris and
Rob not g W. Hey Bret in Texas. You're on
the Odd Couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up? Hey, Robin? Chris?
Thank you so much for taking my call. I just
tell you guys that I really enjoy when I get
(01:32:49):
off work of eating time out here in the piney
woods or DPAs, Texas. Listen to you guys, and I
want you both to know that y'all are kind of
like sugar and cinnamon, separate, separate, they're kind of man,
they're all right, But together you two guys are absolutely amazing,
(01:33:11):
absolutely amazing, And UM, I want you both to know that.
UM believe it or not, it uh I can't believe
I'm actually getting to talk to you. You two guys
sound like a couple of widow women arguing in a
grocery store. And it's amazing. It's absolutely amazing to listen
(01:33:37):
to y'all. I mean, I just I can't wait come
home at night and listen to y'all. It's just I mean,
it's the highlight of my day. I promise it is. Brett,
Thank you very much for those kinds. That's great, especially
coming on the holiday. And what we like to say
is called our bosses at five Sports Radio and let
them know. And I know, alright, but that's that's that's
(01:34:01):
a great that's really nice and happy, thanks to you
and your family. And it's always good. And my thing is,
you know, g w it's cute. But but it's starting
to get like, okay, you do do you know what
I mean? Like I could take criticism with anybody. I've
been on the waiting for a long time. I've written
(01:34:22):
a newspaper column. Come on, Chris, I've been through all that.
Look you my man, I got your ball, so you
know I'm gonna side. I got I got your back.
But I do like hearing I do like hearing what
when you getting your feelings. You are unbelieving you, my man,
I got your back. Man. You know I'm riding with you.
(01:34:44):
Ride or die? Yeah, couple, all right? Hit us up
eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven
nine ninety six, sixty three sixty nine. If you want
to weigh in, Lebron or Kevin Durant still did not
not historically because right now, obviously Lebron is ranked ahead
of him, and I think he'll stay ahead of him.
(01:35:05):
But right now, who is the better player, Kevin Durant
or Lebron James. Will continue the conversation with you. It's
the Eye Couple of Fox Sports Radio. Oh h, you're
(01:35:26):
tuned into the Eye Couple Chris Brussard and Rob Parker.
Car shopping can be confusing. Terms like dealer, price list,
price invoice. True Car shows you what other people pay
for the car you want. That way you can recognize
what's a good price and what's a bad price. Trust me,
(01:35:46):
when you're ready to buy a new or even a
used car, visit True Car to enjoy a more confident
car buying experience. We've been talking Rob about I still
think Lebron James is the best player in the world.
I think Janisadna Kombo is coming. Obviously KD is right there.
(01:36:07):
Uh shoot, if you're talking about sheer impact, Steph Curry
may be in the conversation. Leonard's having a great year.
But Lebron is still the best. And I still definitely
think he's better than k D. As much as I
like k D and I'm not trying to he is
tremendous and he fits into a system smoother than Lebron,
(01:36:30):
Like he doesn't have to become the system like Lebron.
Lebron couldn't have fit in at Golden State. They would
have just totally been a different team. But KD does
not control a game like Lebron James doesn't. You can
see it without Steph, they're just a different ball club.
You're talking about early games in November that really I'm
(01:36:51):
talking about in his whole two and a half years
in the finals. I love to see KD go up
against Lebron in the finals. I love it. But don't
you in KD going like I don't. It's not a
one on one matchup. No, But I'm just saying, but
he has step that he's best in Lebron so far, well,
he's won. I mean, Lebron's average a triple double last year,
(01:37:13):
but they didn't win it. They won one day because
they weren't as good as a team. Maybe Lebron has
to score more than or do something different than just score.
He didn't have a triple double last year. He averaged
a trip. They got swept, not last years ago, two
years ago, not last year. But he still played tremendously
fifty one in the first game. They didn't win a
game because they didn't have Kyrie. I predicted, well, no,
(01:37:35):
Kyrie is a great player. You need great teammates. I mean,
what championship the Magic went without great team. I'm just
saying I saw a team. Just to saw a team
win a championship with no star players on. It wasn't
that long, wasn't a hundred years ago. I saw it
two thousand and four. Favorite team, well, not my favorite team,
so so yeah, I'm glad you brought that up. You
(01:37:57):
bring it up, Troit Piston. I'm just saying, Sun billups,
Ben Wallace, Rip Hamilton and Rashid Wallace and Tayshawn Prince
beating the shot, Kobe Carl Malone, Gary Payton Lakers, right,
they have four. Hold. Okay, okay, so was Rip Hamilton
because they beat the Lakers? Would he better than Kobe
(01:38:19):
Bryant for that series? He was? He better than Kobe.
But you're not saying so, you said no, I said so.
That's all I'm saying. Don't you can't just get me
just the finals? I would take k D over Lebron
at this point. I just would. If KD was on
(01:38:41):
the Lakers right now instead of Lebron, would they be
better than they are right now? Oh? Yeah, they'd be better.
The Lakers would be better, Yeah, because the other players
would be able to play better with k D and
instead of Lebron. What is it? What did Lebron did he?
Did he blow you off for an interview or something? Once?
Not at all? I remember meeting Lebron for the very
first time. Was one on like slap you on the
(01:39:02):
back of your head or so like Adrian bells you
like Adrian Bell? Did you? You know Adrian Bell just
retired and maybe a Hall of Famer No three, he's
got but the videos of him when dudes touch his hat,
like he's got this phobia. But it was like he
(01:39:22):
was serious. But somebody must have done that when he
was a kid or something. Dad. It wasn't like he
had laugh at off, like he was like ready to fight,
don't touch him, don't hit the back my head. So
what did Lebron do? Man? I'm nothing, not at all
about asking for his sneakers or so, I'm not at
all you think I kind of journalist, you think I'm
asking for stuff? Not at all all right, Age seven,
(01:39:44):
seven ninety nine on Fox Let's do let in Tennessee. Sean,
Welcome to the Odd Couple. Hello, Sean, what's going on? Guys?
How are you doing? Man? How are you hey? Man?
Just want to say I love your show. Apreciate what
you guys are doing. Appreciate your work. We appreciate. Happy
(01:40:06):
Thanksgiving to you and yours Happy Thanksgiving as well. Listen,
I hate to hate to disagree with you, Chris. You
know KD is number one at this point. Yes, Shy,
tell me that's the only way to see it. So
give me, give me the lie. I love it. I
don't want emotions, I want facts. Give it to me.
No emotions here. Listen, last two finals like it's been
(01:40:28):
proven and I want to get back to the interview.
You guys just had with Eddie House and you guys
were talking about the rest of the Lakers need to
step up because Lebron is carrying the team and Ingram
is getting his numbers off a bad team last year.
(01:40:48):
Isn't that how Lebron has made his career. No, because
he's been doing carrying. No are you saying his whole career?
But you so you know what Eddie he was saying
is there are guys that put up numbers on bad teams,
meaning bad teams, teams with bad records, teams that don't
make the playoffs. Lebron's teams always not only make the playoffs,
(01:41:12):
they make the freaking NBA Finals. But they get good,
but they make the finals. They the second best team
in the league by far. Lebron is a much better
athlete and performer than Ingram. But at the same time,
he's putting up these big numbers on bad teams. Come on,
(01:41:33):
bad team last n got no help. He's got no help,
no help. That's what we're here all the time. That's
the that's the battle cry, Lebron. What do you expect?
How do you expect Lebronnway, he don't have anybody that's
what they say every time he loses. All right, man,
come clean, Sean, he used to work with you in
the No, he work with me. I didn't text Sean.
I don't know who that is. Adrian and Phoenix. You're
(01:41:56):
on the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Adrian?
What's up happening? Man? I'm just I'm on a long
drive right now. I just want to say I'm thankful
for this opportunity to give you guys some knowledge on basketball. Okay,
thank you. Basically, basically, Lebron is the go. He is bigger, faster,
and stronger than any player. And I would even say
(01:42:19):
you going Michael Garden just for those facts because he's
bigger pastor. And how old are you? Twenty two? You
never saw Michael Jordan. Don't talk about YouTube? Ye, howld,
I'll bring up to YouTube one. What I'm saying you
the best. Jordan retired at in ninety fine that was
(01:42:40):
his last Yeah, so that was how that was? You
were three years old. Stop Michael Jordan retired. I'm not
talking about watching YouTube. Yeah, that's a great moment. Well,
YouTube don't do him justice. Trust me, he's at you, Adrian.
Let me throw this at you because I'm a and
keep him more. I'm a Lebron fan as his Rob.
(01:43:00):
I mean, well Rob's now, but we say he's the
second best. We both agreed not say that about him, right, Okay,
But I'm gonna say to you, is this, Adrian. As
much as I like Lebron, the facts of the facts,
he has not dominated the league like Michael Jordan did. Michael,
the way Lebron dominated the East right, nobody else could
(01:43:21):
get to the finals. You knew it was before the
season started. You knew you couldn't beat Lebron. He get
to the finals. That's what Michael Jordan did to the
entire NBA. And then, on top of that, led the
league in scoring ten ten years in a rug the
league and steals three times. Lebron's only led the league
in one category one time, scoring one year, and and
and and Adrian, don't forget to see other part. We
(01:43:43):
could list ten Hall of famers depth Jordan froze out
from winning a championship during his run. He locked, he
put the championship on has not done that. A lot
of cats have eaten during Lebron's tenure. That's fact. And
I give it to you guys. You guys are right there,
we go, Adrian, Yes, Happy Thanksgiving brother? All right? Someone
(01:44:07):
that was a preview of the hot seat, that's right,
Kelvin Calvin. I hope Calvin. Is he on the line.
I hope he's listening. We about to eat this brother up.
He's a novice, Yes, he's a rookie to the hot seat.
He don't know what he don't want this work. Someone
is about to get burned. Our Fox Sports Radio teammate
Kelvin Washington will join us in the hot seat next.
(01:44:29):
But first let's bring in Deb Carson for her her
last update on the Eye couple before Thanksgiving. Happy Thanksgiving
you guys, and let's get you an update on some
of the NBA games. Hornets did beat the Pacers one
twenty seven one O nine. I also won twenty one
one twenty win for the Sixers over the Pelicans, and
wallet is in Cleveland, of course. Lebron and the Lakers
(01:44:52):
were at the Cavaliers Cleveland with a fifty six fifty
three lead over LA ten to go in the third,
six to go in the game in Boston, Nicks with
a ninety six eighty four lead over the Celtics also
want to get you caught up on everything that's going
on Thursday as far as football goes. Of course, the
first game of the day twelve thirty eastern on CBS,
Bears at the Lions Chicago seven and three Detroit four
(01:45:15):
and six. Bears of officially listed quarterback Mitchell Trubisky is
doubtful for the game against the Lions because of his
shoulder injury, so it'll be Chase Daniel likely to start.
Chicago also signed quarterback Tyler Bray from their practice squad.
Lions have ruled out both receiver Marvin Jones and running
back carry On at Johnson. Middle of the game of
the day four thirty eastern on Fox, the NFC East
(01:45:37):
matchup between the division leading Redskins and the Cowboys Washington
six and four Dallas five and five. Cowboys have ruled
out receiver Tavon Austin and linebacker Shawn Lee. Now for
Washington a big shift, of course, Colt McCoy starting at
QB following Alex Smith's gruesome leg injury last weekend. A
lot of folks are worried about that. In fact, Dallas
is a seven point favorite Redskins. Those say Colt McCoy
(01:46:00):
being from Texas, starting for Texas for the Longhorns and
as a pro beach the Cowboys on Thanksgiving for Washington
four years ago, so they do not see themselves as
the underdog at all. H twenty Eastern Tomorrow night, Falcons
are at the Saints New Orleans nine and one Atlanta
four and six, and the Falcons have just ruled out
linebacker Dion Jones for Thursday's game against the Saints. And
(01:46:23):
just one note, of course, we had that big news
earlier today as top rank Duke suffered its first loss
of the season. Blue Devils lost to number three Gonzaga
eighty nine eighty seven at the Maui Invitational. Guys, hey, Dad,
you and your family happy, Thanks, Thank you so much,
and to you two and enjoy the pie and the
(01:46:44):
meat of your choice, and come back happy, a few
pounds heavier and have a safe weekend here. I'm gonna
try to keep the weight on Chris. It's too late
after Thanksgiving. I'm gonna get on that robbed rob park.
I'll walk with you a little bit, y'all. I'm gonna
ask Alan, what do you do for thanks again? What
(01:47:05):
do you eat? I? Can eat anything. Just no meat,
that's it. Just bank anything else, green beans, sweet potato, tofu.
I stay away from soy products. It's not that great
for you anyways. But like anything that's plant based. Yeah, man,
just a bunch of vegetables. All right, Well, happy Thanksgiving?
Happy man. You know what, since you're not having turkey,
(01:47:25):
that means more for us, right well, I mean you
guys should be careful. You know they had that recall,
so just be careful that. Don't put that out there.
It's true. I'm ignoring that. I didn't hear that. I'm
gonna beating some turkeys me too. I gotta say, all right,
how about turkey's glowing or something? What are you doing that?
We're coming to you live the eye couple from the
(01:47:45):
Gueico Fox Sports radio studios. It's easy to say fifteen
percent or more in your car insurance with Geico. Go
to Geico dot com or call eight hundred and nine
four seven Auto. The only hard part is figuring out
which way is easy? And uh Rob, we got a
novice on the hot seat. Oh he thinks he's ready
(01:48:07):
for this work, but I'm not so sure. He is
a Fox Sports radio host. He's our colleague. You can
follow him on Twitter at k dub that's DUBB Live
k DUB Live. Welcome Kelvin Washington to the hot seat. Brother.
How you doing? What's up? Fellas? I mean, uh, it's
a lot of Rob Parker in my life though. I
(01:48:28):
will say this, Chris, because I gotta kick it with
you guys now and then I gotta kick with him
in the morning. That's just a lot of Rod Parker
in my life. That's you gotta be careful man. Tomorrow
we're filling in on Thankgiving Day on the Damn Patrick
Show between nine and noon Eastern time, so that will
be a blast, no doubt. All right, Kelvin, do your
thing man. That's that's I'm gonna be praying for you
(01:48:49):
tomorrow morning because I know, uh, that's gonna be a
child's but you already know. Welcome brother, don't take this
personal because you're about to get burned. Here we go, um,
Welcome of the hot seat, Damn Son. The current temperature beyond.
Couple are making it hot in here, Damn the hot seat. Yes,
(01:49:12):
third is the hot Seat the a couple of Fox
Sports Radio. It's the segment that we like to do
where one of our Fox Sports colleagues, likes to defend
three of their hottest takes against the y couple and
kelvin Washington. Despite this being his first go round, has
already learned the tricks of the trade because he wants
to divide the odd Couple. He's found a way to
(01:49:36):
ensure that in the hot seat one of YouTube is
gonna be in the hot seat for all three r
He's never in the hot seat. Smart. That's a that
is smart. That's the way to take advantage of the situation.
You're the first one to do that. That's very very smart.
Chris Man. I'm a trendsetter. Brother, I'm a trance see
I see all right? Round number one Rob Parker in
the hot seat because he believes that, following the Monday
(01:49:59):
night football loss, that Chiefs quarterback Pat Mahomes is efficiently
eliminated from the MVP race. Rob, you got thirty seconds.
I've never seen in the history of the NFL MVP
where a guy could have five turnovers in one game.
Five in one game. Usually when you win the MVP,
(01:50:21):
you might have five turnovers the whole season or something
like that, or seven. He had five and one game
he has ten interceptions. Are you kidding me? You can't
do that. And not only did he have five turnovers,
they lost the game. It's one thing, and maybe he
won it and worked through it, but they lost. He
helped lose the game by giving up the football. Mahomes
(01:50:43):
is not the MVP. Stop it. He's the flavor of
the mall. Okay to go. Now, First of all, you
keep putting up your emphasis on a game. Last time
I checked, the MVP was for a season. So let's
discuss the fact that this season he is dorfing everybody
else when it comes to statistics. He's dorfing everybody else
(01:51:06):
when it comes super excitement and watching them. And not
to mention every game that he's lost. Those two games
with the Patriots and the Rams, you actually thought they
were still gonna find a way to win the game.
So Patrick Mahomes is gonna be your MVP. Also because
the Saints, Drew Brees is gonna have another loss or
two on his record, so therefore they'll have about the
same amount of wins to losses. And then you'll look
at the status. You'll see Mahomes has better stats. He
(01:51:29):
doesn't have better stats. He has more turnovers, and that's
what's gonna be the death of him not winning the MVP.
They might give him the Offensive Rookie of the Year
or something like that. And he's had a great season,
but come on, now, we're talking about the best player
in the league. You can't turn the ball over that
often and expect people to laud you as the greatest
(01:51:50):
player all season. He's had a nice run, it's been
a cute story. I like it, but he ain't no
MVP with turnovers. The law where for with you, Rob Parker,
is that Mahomes is still in the race. I do agree.
Drew Brees is the MVP right now. Twenty five touchdowns,
one interception. Mahomes has ten interceptions. I know he got
(01:52:14):
the thirty seven tds, but he's still in the hunt though,
And you didn't even mention the turnover the other ones,
the fumbles. No, he's but he's got thirty sevent tds.
He goes more for the home run ball than Drew
Brees does. That's why he has more turnovers. He's averaging
almost nine and a half yards per attempt. Brees is
not that high. So Mahomes is not the MVP. It's
(01:52:37):
Drew Brees. But Mahomes is not out of it. Boy, y'all.
You guys are lucky. That's all I had was thirty seconds.
You're done. Round one goes to Rob Parker. Yeah. Round
number two Chris Brussard. Hope you're getting ready to get
burned here? Oh, because you still believe excuse me, yes,
(01:53:04):
this is Chris us. Sorry that Steph Curry is the
most important Golden State Warrior. You got thirty seconds. There's
no question about it. The entire offensive system is built
around Steph Curry. The way he spreads the floor gets
(01:53:24):
the defense spread out to thirty five feet. His player
movement that everybody plays off of Steph, and the record
shows it. Since Kevin Duran joined the Warriors two and
a half years ago, they are twenty four and three
when Steph plays and Katie sits, and they win by
thirteen points a game. When Katie plays and Steph sits,
(01:53:46):
they are twenty and eleven and win by two points
a day. So I'm glad you brought up records Steph
Curry and also the rest of the Warriors. Kevin in
sixth against Lebron when he was with the Cavaliers and
six of those games were without Kevin Love and Kyrie.
Kevin Durant has saved that team and made them dynastic. Yess.
(01:54:10):
Steph Curry maybe the most popular, he may even be
the most transcendent, but he is not the most important.
Kevin Durant is what basic go. Kevin Durant is the
reason why, finally, finally, we actually thought maybe Steph Curry
could be a Finals MVP because he was able to
sign because Kevin Durant took all of the attention of
the past. Kevin, you could have put any all perennial
(01:54:32):
All star who can shoot into that Golden State lineup
and they would have beat Cleveland. I mean, the defense
is playing attention to Steph and Clays. Of course, it
was easy for Durant to get his and enough about
this notion that Steph doesn't deliver in the NBA Finals.
When he was in the NBA Finals in twenty fifteen,
(01:54:53):
he should have been the MVP, hands down. But it
was a joke. One time is off and your time
is off, and and the writers know what they're talking
about Steph. Steph is one of those guys. He's a
cute little guy. Throws up some threes, but when he's
not making threes, he's totally useless. Yeah, he doesn't. That's why.
(01:55:15):
That's why Steph hasn't gotten a finals MVP yet because
he hasn't played good enough. Without Kevin Durant, they wouldn't
have these last two championships, are you kidding? And not
only have they beat Lebron, they've embarrassed Lebron with Kevin Durant.
And that's why he's the most important player. And if
he stays on the on the Warriors two more years
to win two more championships. Round two goes to Chris
(01:55:39):
Bruce sar the facts over feelings round these judges. I'm
not sure about these judges. Last round here quite possibly
the most controversial. Chris Bruce Sarty is the only person
on the Odd Couple crew who does not have a
(01:56:03):
problem with pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving? What Chris, you got
thirty seconds? Go for it. Let me say first, sweet
potato pie is better than you can. However, stop hating
on pumpkin pie. There is nothing wrong with pumpkin pie.
You put a little whip cream on it, you heat
it up in the in the microwave for twelve seconds
(01:56:26):
and it's delicious. It's not quite sweet potato pie, but
it is a great and healthy alternative. I can roll
with pumpkin pie. So you realize what you just did.
You just basically told your listeners to accept spam. That's
what you said. If they can't have hand, they should
be happy with spam. If you're just telling me, I
have to look how you have to dress it up.
(01:56:47):
I have to put whip cream, I have to heat it.
I have to do this. The temperature has to be right.
It has to be on a Thursday. That is the
reason why nobody likes pumpkin pie. In fact, I don't
even know where to pick up pumpkin pie. Where do
you Where do you even get pumpkin pie food? Of them,
nobody is going to eat pumpkin pie, sweet potato pie,
pecan pie. You can deal with those, maybe even apple pie. Chris, Chris,
(01:57:08):
you have lost me. Officially, give me your brother card.
How dare you tell me that you eat pumpkin pie
is acceptable? Sweet potato pie, Raine Supreme. You can't be
in a black household and half sweep not half sweet
potato pie on a Thanksgiving And you know what, pumpkin
pie taste like cardboard. It's awful. There's no taste. It's bland,
(01:57:30):
kind of like your sports commentary. Mine has sentiment in it.
Mine has a little poe loose pozzas to it. I
don't need to dress up sweet potato pie. I think
even Chris knows he lost that round. Point goes to
Calvin and Rob. Congratulations Calvin, your first round in the hot.
Did he survive? He but he eat tricked it. He
(01:57:52):
never was on the hot. He got third degree burns.
He got third not good job and good approach for some.

and two? Last week that's barely winning. That ain't nothing special.
Rob Parker? Hello, Hello? What are the all time marks?
(02:00:29):
I'm just we don't have time for that. Chris Chris
twenty eight and seventeen. Rob Parker twenty two and twenty three. Wow,
you fell below five hundred. But you know what, Rob's
getting back on track right now. I'm just astonished. I
wasn't even trying to make kills me. I was just shocked, though. Yeah. Whatever,
(02:00:50):
we get it started on Thanksgiving a full slate of
NFL action. We get started with Rob's Detroit Lions. They
are three point home underdogs against the Bears. Rob, who
do you like in this one? I'm going to pick
the Detroit Lions against my better judgment. I'm gonna pick
the Lions, you know what, I'm with you. Just because
(02:01:13):
Trubisky looks like mister Trubisky is gonna be out, they're
not sure. That's up in the air without him really
changes my mind. But I'm gonna assume he's not, so
I'm gonna go with Detroit too. Game number two, NFC
East Clash, the Redskins traveling to Dallas take on the Cowboys.
Cowboys seven point home favorites. Chris, who do you like well,
Colt McCoy, Mark Sanchez. I don't have faith in them,
(02:01:35):
so I'm going with Dallas. They're on a roll. I'm
gonna take Washington with the points. I think Dallas wins,
but not by seven points. This is a big number here, gentleman.
The New Orleans Saints, possibly the best team in football,
thirteen point home favorites against the Falcons. Rob, who are
you picking? I hate the Falcons, but I'm taking the Falcons.
(02:01:57):
Thirteen points is a lot. I know the last time
I said that, they blew out the Eagles, but I'm
gonna take the Falcons. Yeah, I hear you, Rob. That
is a huge spread. Um, I'm a little apprehensive. The
Saints are due for a loss too, but I'm gonna
just have a bad day. Going with the Saints. Yeah,
I'm going They've been they've been playing so well. I well,
not in a row. I'm gonna stick with them. The
(02:02:17):
Pigs can't pick off the our couple of Fox sportsreo
Game number four of the Panthers three and a half
point home favorites against the Seahawks. Chris, what do you like?
You know? To me, this comes down to do you
have more faith than cam or Russell Wilson And I'm
gonna go with Seattle. I'm gonna go with Russell Wilson.
They need it. They need it more than Carolina. After
(02:02:37):
the way Carolina gave that game away to the Lions
last week, they gotta bounce back. I'm going with the
Panthers here. I think it's a must win. Last game.
Here's the primetime game Packers against the Vikings NFC North
playoff position Vikings three and a half point home favorites,
rob what do you like? Finally? Come on? The Packers
gotta win a road game and Aaron Rodgers, I'm going
(02:02:59):
with the Packers. Yeah, I'm going with the Packers as well.
I'm a little hesitant, but I'm going with the Packers.
