Speaker 1 (00:05):
This is Straight Fire with Jason McIntyre.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
What is up, Straight far, Family, It's me Jason McIntyre,
Straight Fire for Monday, November twenty fifth. It is Thanksgiving week,
one of the most traveled weeks in America. If you
already hit the road, congrats. Hopefully I can give you
some content here that will make your travels a little

(00:31):
bit easier. If you're like me, working most of the week,
well that's life, so quick podcast update. We will have
podcast episodes tomorrow and Wednesday, but because nobody listens to
podcasts that actually hang out with their family, we won't
have anything Thursday or Friday, so obviously we will drop
plenty of picks on Wednesday for the weekend and listen.

(00:56):
It was another monster Saturday in college football. I don't
know how this can keep up, but by far the
best college football season I've ever had. Ten and four
on Saturday. I mean, folks, it's just I'm running hot
on college now. In the NFL it did not go
as well, mostly because I loaded up on Washington, Indie
and neither of those came through, and that got me

(01:17):
down bad. And that you know, both of those blew up. Wow,
Washington blew up a bunch of teasers, so it wasn't
a great Sunday. Did go three and two in the
contest thanks to the Raiders and Desmond Ridder taking a
sack on the one yard line instead of scoring. Holy cow,
Sean Payton tried to blow that. Anyways, it was a
fun Sunday in the NFL. Some massive chaos. We had
several overtime games. The Chiefs dearly blew it against the Panthers.

(01:39):
Chiefs got problems. I've been trying to tell you, guys,
you don't want to hear it because you love the
Chiefs and Mahomes and read and they got problems. We'll
get to it, but I do want to start with
Saquon Barkley kind of going off on Sunday Night football.
Did whatever he wanted. The seventy yard touchdown was just
a masterpiece, and it was. It was quite a performance
from Saquan as the Eagles role over the Rams, and

(02:01):
the Eagles look like they're on a crash course with
the Detroit Lions in the NFC Championship game, with the
Niners going down and the Niners pretty much looking dead
in the water with the injuries. I don't see anyone
in the NFC who can hang with these two. These
are far and away the two best teams, Eagles and Lions.
And like, I mean, maybe you could argue, yes, the
the Vikings have done some tremendous stuff. They're nine and

(02:23):
two again, Sam Donald in a big spot. I gotta
see it, you know, I gotta see it in the playoffs,
and we don't know that we're gonna get that from Donald.
The Packers are starting to form a little bit. They
played like a C plus game and still beat the Niners.
But I don't know that I trust the Packers. The
Commanders are falling on a hard time. Three losses in
a row. The NFC South is a joke, and Arizona loses.

(02:45):
We had Seattle there, so it's like there's really two
good teams in the NFC, and Saquon Barkley is the
big story. Folks. I cannot stress this enough. But this
narrative that running backs don't matter, which is actually the
great name of a website that a lot of great stats.
I think this happened last summer or last offseason, and

(03:07):
it was basically the narrative everywhere, Oh you can't pay
running backs?

Speaker 1 (03:10):
Wow?

Speaker 2 (03:10):
Why would you do that? You can't running backs was
Remember the running backs got on like a conference call
and they were trying to form some kind of not
a union of running backs, but they were trying to
get together a strategy. I say, how can we save
the position? And it got so far that you were
seeing tight ends like Cole Kament who s goood tight ends?
You know, fine guys getting paid more than running backs.

(03:32):
And I think I said it at the time, either
here or on the herd, but we've just seen too
the market over correction. People are running backs were so
devalued that they were undervalued, if that makes any sense.
And if you look at the leaderboard for rushing leaders
in the NFL right now, wouldn't you know it, they're

(03:53):
all on new teams because their old team didn't want
to pay them. Derrick Henry Saque bark top of the
league in rushing, both on new teams Baltimore and Philly.
Josh Jacobs Raiders cut him loose. He's crushing it with
the Green Bay Packers. Had a monster game against the Niners.
Jamier Gibbs remember first round pickup black people scoffed. I

(04:15):
think I was one of them. He is delivered. He
Montgomery got hurt. Gibbs was phenomenal. You look at Joe Mixon, now,
he did not have a good game. He was terrible
against the Titans, who have a good run defense. But
Joe Mixon is a top ten running back numbers wise,
despite missing multiple games. Joe Mixon having a great season
in his new spot. The Bengals sure could use him.
Although Chase Brown's been good, you know, it'd be nice

(04:37):
to have Mixon back there as a thumper. And then
of course Aaron Jones, who as usuals dinged up a
little bit, but he still delivered big time for the Vikings.
Yesterday's fumble inside the five yard line aside. But you're
looking at five running backs who are top it looks
like the top fifteen in the league. You could toss
Tony Pollard in there. In Tennessee, he had a huge
game yesterday against the Texas. Running backs were so devalued

(05:01):
that they had value. And we'll get to the Giants
at a moment and their GM. But I just I
watched saquad and I'm like, this guy, he's gonna be
the offensive player of the year. I do believe, you know,
the MVP is still going to go to a quarterback.
I don't want to hear it, guys, I don't want
to hear this. You know, you got to give Saquon
or Derek Henry the MVP just because they lead the
league in rushing and their great story. That's just not

(05:23):
gonna happen. The reality is the quarterback is the most valuable,
most important position on the field. However, obviously, Derek Henry
can be a huge ad to the Ravens, and Saquon
Barkley has been a massive addition for the Eagles. And
I think we talked about in the offseason, can Saquon
have the type of impact that Christian McCaffrey had on

(05:44):
the Niners? And I think the answer undeniably is yes.
I mean, Saquon is on pace to have the most
rushing yards in his career like next week, and the
Giants were like, man, we're good. We don't want to
pay it. And now the Giant, oh yeah, we got
Devin Singletary, but this the young kid Tracy. It's like, uh,
oh okay, all right, wonderful. Saquon Barkley's dominating in prime time,

(06:05):
making you guys look like fools, and right, now he's
the driving force with the Eagles. You have to respect
Barkley and then aj Browns kill him. But they don't
even have Davonta Smith and they put up They got
to thirty in like third quarter, like they are cooking
right now. This is a monster team. I don't know
how I would handicap Lions Eagles. I think the Lions

(06:28):
have the best offense in the league, but Philly's defense
is so much better than what the Lions have. I
will defend the Lions, so worry guys. They're defense of
the second half's been great. But let's be real, this
is a really good Eagles team. Nick Siriani pretty much
the only player that can get it get in the
way of ruining this really, really good run the Eagles have.

(06:48):
I do want to give a shout out to Brandon Graham,
who I had to look this up. He's thirty six
years old. I mean, what a performance from Brandon Graham
on Sunday night. Football. Dude was everywhere. I felt a
little bad for Matt Stafford, who just kept getting pummeled.
I mean it was it was just a rough night
for Stafford. They couldn't keep him protected. It was Graham

(07:09):
coming off the edge. Graham had a several tackles for loss.
I think he had a force fumble two ni Kobe Dean,
the linebacker from Georgia. I mean, it was a really
good performance from the Eagles, who are led by Saquon
bark meey now let me dovetail from Saquon's new team,
too us old and that's the New York Giants. So
if you remember last week, I kind of sort of
was looking at the Giants after DeVito was named the starter.

(07:33):
Then they had people like Dexter Lawrence come out and complain,
why are we not playing our best quarterback? What are
we doing right? And it's like, oh, that's not good,
and you started to wonder about quit in the locker room.
And then next thing you know, Daniel Jones makes that
speech in front of the whole in front of the media,
and it's like, oh boy, oh dear, this is not good.

(07:55):
And then he's asked to be released and they were like, sure,
we'll release you. And then it's just you feel bad
for guy. You know, you got this ESPN woman l
Duncan piling on job. Mean, like the body's not even
cold and just kicking him. It just felt it was
just a weird week for the Giants. And then Malik
Nighbors turns up on the injury report and you're like, hmm,

(08:16):
does he not want to play? And the Giants fall
behind till I got to get to get to my
notes on the game. Here. They fell behind, oh, thirty
to zero at halftime. Danny not Danny DeVito. Tommy DeVito
attempted five passes, three of five for thirty one yards.
That's at halftime. They were out gained two hundred and
ninety to forty five, first down seventeen to three. The

(08:38):
Buccaneers had more red zone trips four than the Giants
did first downs three. So they finally opened the third
quarter with a good run and they get down the field,
they get to the red zone, and then Brian Dable,
the genius play caller, says, Oh, we're gonna motion de
veto the quarterback out wide and we're gonna run a
wild cat with Tracy that'll surprise him. Fumbles and that's

(09:01):
the lights out. But this is where it gets interesting.
So after the game, meleak Neighbors get all gets dressed
and he meets the media. He's got his shades on.
I gotta say that the leather jacket was kind of fly.
I would definitely look to purchase that if I could
get the brand name. And it's not like, you know,
two thousand dollars or something, but Molik Neighbors essentially says,

(09:22):
first second quarter, I didn't get the ball. I can't
do nothing. What do you want me to do? I
start to get the ball when we're down thirty to zero,
what do you want me to do? And he's chewing
gum and he's angry, and they're like, well, ask him questions.
He goes, you got to talk to Brian Dabole, Dave
Dab's whatever he's calling him, and it's like, oh boy,
this is not good, not good at all. And then

(09:43):
you watch Saquon Sunday Night go off, and you just
flashbacks to Joe Shane the Giants GM while we don't
need him, Well, we got Devil's singletary. We're good, We're good.
And Giants fans of course then are like trying to
defend the team. Well, even with Saquon, we'd only have
one more win. Bro that it's not about that, it's
about the process of building a roster. The process of

(10:04):
paying Daniel Jones and not wanting to pay Saku one Barkley,
Daniel Jones is not gonna be gone and probably gonna
be a backup somewhere. Who the hell knows. He might
appear in a playoff game this year as a backup
is if the starter gets hurt and then it's like,
oh my gosh, you got Saquon and Danny Dimes in
the postseason and the Giants here are looking at a
top five pick. It's just it's bad. Neighbors went on

(10:25):
to call the team soft af man. That's not good.
He said he's tired of losing. So we know he's
a wide receiver one because he is sounding off. Imagine
that you get smoked at home Bucks, Easy, easy blowout.
Baker Mayfield's making fun of Davito, he said, he's given
him a shout out. I thought he was making fun

(10:46):
of him with the money sign or whatever. The celebration
de Vito did was. I'm not a Dvito guy, so
I don't really pay attention to his stuff, but it
just it kind of felt like, oh my gosh, a
rookie is stepping up and creating a stir folks. I
don't know that Daboll and Joe Shane are gonna survive this.
Let's see what happens on Thanksgiving, another high profile game.

(11:09):
You got de veto against Cooper Rush. And it's like,
if the Giants get smacked around again, and you could
tell this team has quit if you see them, if
they lose to the hapless Cowboys, say you twenty eight
to seven or twenty eight ten. I just I don't
know how you can bring the GM and the coach back.
You might as well start anew so you're gonna be

(11:31):
getting a new quarterback here in the top five. It
just it doesn't make sense why those two would come
back so overall, Like, listen, I know the Jets had
a rough you know, seventy two hours if you will,
I'm not even gonna talk about him. They didn't play.
Who cares. I don't want Aaron Rodgers back, so I'm
fine with him not wanting to be back. Whatever. They're relevant.
The Giants are are a big story today because of

(11:51):
the Saquon Barklay thing. And I'm just telling you my
read right now is I don't think Dabel and Shane
are going to be back. And if they're if there
are more blowouts here, it may happen sooner than you think,
because this it looks like a football team that has quit.
And as a blue blood in the NFL, the blue
bloods are like the Steelers, Giants, you know, teams that

(12:12):
have been around forever. That's a bad look and I
don't think My guess is the Mayra family will not
stand for that. Let me go to the Kansas City Chiefs,
just because I want to reiterate why I do think
they are struggling. So a couple of weeks ago, they
lost their number two cornerback, the kid Watson. He had
to go on IR. I think he's done for the season.

(12:34):
I'm not sure, but he's on IR. And since then,
the Kansas City Chiefs past defense has just been terrible.
They are getting lit up and they just let Bryce
Young have the greatest game of his career and it
was like what Jalen Watson is the corner they had
who was playing great. He got hurt in Week seven

(12:54):
and since then all they've done is, you know, every
team they've faced is kind of sort of moving the
football on them with ease. And this is the scary part.
We're not talking about good quarterbacks. We're talking about Gardner
Minshew keeping the Raiders mildly competitive and moving the ball
down the field. We're talking about Baker Mayfield. Remember that
on Monday night, slicing and dicing key late drive. You know,

(13:17):
Spagnolo was blitzing. It didn't matter because nobody can defend
mc McDuffie's struggling. Then there was the Broncos game. McDuffie
gets roasted by Courtland Sutton. Then the Buffalo game, Buffalo
scores thirty points, moves the ball at will, and now
Carolina hear piling up yards. I saw stat that this
was the first time all season that the Chiefs gave

(13:39):
up three hundred and twenty five or more yards. Panthers
had three hundred and thirty four yards of offense. We're talking
about the Panthers. And if you're like, oh, well, you know,
it's a lot of drives, folks. They got to the
red zone six times, six trips to the red zone
on Spagnolo's defense. And if you watch again, go watch
the highlights. McDuffie struggled a couple penalties. And it's not

(14:01):
just the defense. The offensive line for the Chiefs permitted
five sacks, tied for the most of Mahome's career. The
left tackle issue remains a problem. I know it's Carolina
and they want and who cares. It's survive in advance.
I get that, and you know what I'll give. I'm
not gonna give all of them, but I already bet
the Chiefs this week agains the Raiders. I bet them.

(14:23):
I'm on them. Yeah, thirteen and a half, not kidding.
I took the Chiefs. Nobody else is gonna want them.
I want them here. It's a revenge spot. And they
lost to the Raiders last Christmas. I know they played
them recently, but Gardner Minshew also broke his collar bone.
I shouldn't be laughing. I'm not laughing at that, but
it just it's sad Minshew's out. So it's gonna be
like the Desmond Ritter Show. I mean, this one's probably

(14:47):
gonna get ugly. You know. I know the Raiders like,
we're a little feisty on Sunday, and I'll give them that.
It's fine. You don't like to see them teams totally
roll over. They were frisky again the Broncos in the
divisional matchup, but this seems to me like a spot.
I think Pacheco's probably going to return, and I think

(15:10):
the Chiefs put it on the Raiders. Who again, Desmond
Rror is an unplayable quarterback if you missed the Raiders game.
So they had a couple of cornerbacks out, they had
their top two running backs out there leading rusher. Are
you ready for this? His name is Sincere McCormick. Never
heard of him in my life. He is a second
year running back out of Utsa, Okay a Mere Abdullah

(15:35):
was their leading carrier. McCormick led them in rushes. Basically,
it's the Jacobi Meyers Show. And then Trey Tucker Bowers
was kind of sort of shut down, and I think
the it's gonna need a big Bowers game. I mean,
the Raiders were competent. They had a good fake punt
that was pretty extraordinary. I love the design and the execution.
It worked magically. But I don't know. I just I

(15:56):
look at this Raiders team and I don't see them
want to go to Kansas City here in what I
think is going to be a tough spot. Wait, let
me double just double check that the game is in
Kansas City. But that was one of the first games
I bet. Yeah, it's in Kansas City. And I should
preface this by saying this week is there's something called
it polar vortex headed to several games, and it sounds

(16:21):
like that Green Bay game is going to be heavily impacted.
And it feels like this is a week where we're
gonna see a lot of weather impacting games as we
head into Thanksgiving. Just file that away. I know she's
thirteen and a half. That's probably too big for a
lot of too rich for your blood and mahomes historically.
I mean, they just didn't cover a double digit spread.
That's fine. I'm just I think they're gonna be okay here.

(16:42):
And if you watch Desmuder play football, you know that
he's not an NFL quarterback.

Speaker 2 (16:59):
I do have to touch on Washington Dallas because I
crushed and I'm talking crush Dallas all week and this
was the spot. As they say, Washington coming off extra rest,
Dallas on a short week, Dallas inactive list was huge.
A lot of guys just did not play, and you're like,
oh my gosh, Washington's got this locked up. Washington blocks
a field goal, they block a punt, they get a

(17:21):
fumble recovery, and yet in the first half they're sputtering
and they can't do anything. They couldn't get into the
red zone. And I start that's when you know, when
when they're playing well but cannot score it all, you're like, shit,
it's not my day. It's it's not gonna happen for me.
And I just it was one of those you just
knew at halftime that you were totally screwed. And they

(17:44):
tried really, really hard, and I'm talking they tried hard.
Washington fought till the end. We'll talk about the fourth
quarter in a second, but you just look at this
Cliff Kingsbury history in the second half of seasons. And
remember we talked about it a few weeks ago, like,
let's man, Cliff Kingsbury. The second half of the season,
either defenses catch up or he runs out of good
place because they could do nothing offensively, and it just

(18:08):
snowballed until the fourth quarter. And I got to give
a shout out to McCarthy before we get to the
fourth quarter. McCarthy for the third week in a row,
despite not having Dak Prescott depleted guys everywhere. They fought
hard in the first half. They're fighting hard for McCarthy.
They were in the game against Philly, then they folded.

(18:28):
They were in the game against Houston, and then they
folded in the second half. Just because the talent's not there,
they fall apart. They didn't fall apart this week. This
game was thirteen to nine Dallas with six minutes left,
thirteen to nine. In the final six minutes, there were
thirty one points scored. Thirty one thirty one points? Are

(18:50):
you kidding me? And it was just absolutely chaotic. I've
never seen two kickoff returns for a touchdown in a quarter,
much less a six minutes. There was the Terry McLaurin
eighty six yard touchdown, which was just fluky stuff. And
you watch it and I mean, I'm praying for any
hope Washington could have because I had them in teaser,
so I needed to win. And McLaurin goes the distance

(19:14):
eighty six yards. That touchdown was unbelievable. It's like, you know,
Dallas just drop back in coverage. Just keep everything in
front of you, and Dallas could not do that. McLaurin
just zigzags and you're like, oh my gosh, do they
go for two to win it?

Speaker 1 (19:26):
Nah?

Speaker 2 (19:26):
Nah, they don't need to do that. He just kick
the extra point to Winter and they got the momentum.
And then bad snap and Seebert misses the extra point.
That was gut wrenching, just brutal. And then of course
they tried the onside kick and then Dallas runs it back.
But again, let's strip out if you will. Again, it
happened with twenty five seconds left. Let's remove the seventy

(19:46):
six sorry, eighty six yard touchdown to Terry McLaurin. Okay,
let's take that out. Jayden Daniels had one hundred and
ninety yards passing, okay, with thirty seconds left in the game,
in a game they trailed most of the game. Now,
he did lose Eckler to a concussion. That was a

(20:07):
lethal hit. I mean, I feel bad, so bad for Eckler.
He's probably gonna be out a few weeks because this
is not his first concussion. He's had multiple. Robinson got hurt.
It was an ankle and he tried to power through it,
but it didn't go well. So then you say, okay,
well they couldn't pass, they couldn't run. Jaden Daniels seven
carries seventy four yards. Okay. So you've got your quarterback

(20:28):
with the rib injury running for his life for most
of your offense, and for whatever reason, the pass game
was not there against the Dallas secondary that can't guard anybody,
and you start adding stuff up. You're like, what's going
on with Washington? Is there a world where they missed
the playoffs? The answers probably know, but there's so much
parody now the Rams getting smoke does not help the

(20:49):
Rams cause. But I do wonder if Tampa and Atlanta
can both of them sneak in if Washington continues to
create it. Washington next up has Tennessee, and that is
not a good matchup for Washington, especially if they have
no running backs against the Tennessee run defense that is
pretty formidable, at least when healthy. Joe Mixon had fourteen

(21:12):
carries for twenty two yards. So you're telling me Washington
can't run, okay, and now you've just got Jade Daniels's
kind of sort of a sitting Duck. I'm starting to
get worried a little bit for Washington and Kingsbury. Dan
Quinn is slowly but surely losing the Coach of the
Year award, which it felt like he was the clubhouse leader.
It ain't gonna be, Sirianni. We know that it's going

(21:34):
to Dan Campbell, probably possibly McDermott. But NFC, the whole
playoff picture is just getting wild and I can't even
I don't. If I ask you who's the third best
team in the NFC, it is it Seattle? I don't know,
is it? Because based on tiebreakers, currently these are your

(21:57):
playoff seeds in the NFC. Detroit is won, Eagles are two,
Seattle is three, Atlanta is four, Minnesota, which is nine
and two is five. Green Bay at eight and three
is six. Washington clinging to seven, but right behind them,
just one game back is Arizona, and then after that

(22:18):
is the Rams and Niners, who are going nowhere fast.
And I would just say keep an eye on Tampa.
But Washington, they I'm pretty sure they played Arizona. Let
me just quickly check. It's because yeah, Washington smashed Arizona,
so they have the tiebreaker. So they're still in good shape.
The big problem is if Washington gets to seven, they
got to go to Philadelphia and that's just not a

(22:40):
good matchup for them at all. I'm hopeful that maybe
Daniels can get out of the seven, but then we
get Packers Eagles, Packers v in the seven. Now, Packers
are a dangerous team. But NFC just suddenly just does
not look good at all. And there I guess we'll
wrap up with the Niners here before we get to
best bets for Monday Night Football. I don't know, guys,

(23:02):
Oh well, I do want to do college football after
this real quick. But this Niners thing is kind of
sad at this point. You know, it sucks. They're a
great team, they just don't have anybody healthy. I mean,
once Brock Purty went out, then it was the domino effect.
Trent Williams will not play, Ward will not play, and

(23:25):
he started looking like, oh, they got four key guys
turning up on the inactives. And then as soon as
the broadcast starts, only two defensive starters from last year's
playoff game against the Packers or with the Niners, only
two and what was the result? They missed fifteen tackles
in the first half San Francisco highest in the NFL

(23:46):
this season. According to the Fox broadcast, fifteen miss tackles.
Packers led seventeen nothing and it would have been over
at the end of the first half if Christian Watson
doesn't totally stonehands a wide open touchdown. I'd like to
thank him for because I was facing Watson in fantasy
and I got a narrow victory, So thank you for
that drop. But the Niners kind of sort of got

(24:06):
back in the game, and then of course, you know,
they three turnovers that led to short field touchdowns, and
it was like, ah, well, maybe they're not that impressive
the Packers. That is that you look at the box score,
it was kind of sort of even, but in reality,
it's like, yeah, they Packers did not look great. The
Niners usually aren't. Aren't one of these teams that quits.

(24:29):
I know a lot of people are bagging on Deebo
Samuel and I saw what's his face? Andrew Brant, who
comes on the podcast occasionally, he had an interesting tweet
that the Green Bay Packers are currently paying their receivers.
Let me get the exact number here. The Green Bay
Packers are paying the receivers eight million dollars. Deebo Samuel
is making twenty two million dollars, so seven Packers receivers

(24:53):
eight million dollars debo twenty two mili. I mean, it's
gonna be very difficult for the Niners. Are gonna have
some tough decisions. We're gonna have a full offseason to
deal with it. They've got to make some tough decisions.
Deebo Samuel, I will say, is going to be one
of the most attractive dudes on the free agent market.

(25:13):
He's going to be highly motivated. And if he goes
to a coach who knows how the hell to use him,
oh my gosh, look the hell out. I mean, that's
gonna be scary. I don't see him back with the
Niners next year. You know I will be back. They
got Pearsol, they got Jinnings. It's not looking good for
the Niner. I think they're done. They got the Buffalo
Bills who can deliver the kill shot, probably this week

(25:35):
and just put them out of their misery. It stinks. Listen, man,
you go to the Super Bowl, you lose, and then
the injuries mount and Christian mccafrey miss half the season
just stinks. I'm trying to see if there's anything else
that jumped out at me. Miami's kind of sort of
coming on strong, but I don't think anybody takes them seriously.
I did bet against them this week. They're the polar vortex.
Temperatures in Green Bay on Thanksgiving for Packers Dolphins or

(26:00):
expected to be around zero degrees, and we know two
is winless in games under forty degrees. It's not gonna
be as cold as the Chiefs game last year where
idiots who didn't wear gloves and shirts had to get
the stuff amputated. That's real. You can look it up.
It's not gonna be that cold, but it certainly is
gonna be cold, which to it does not thrive in.
And I expect the Packers to win that game. I

(26:23):
guess the only other one that kind of jumped out
Caleb Williams I thought was pretty good, not amazing, but
he was strong in the fourth quarter. They didn't give up,
and they fought the good fight. I just want to
remind people last one before we get the best bet
for Monday Night football. The last time the Bears lost
a heartbreaker, the Hail Mary, they went into a tailspin.

(26:46):
They just lost another heartbreaker, down by two touchdowns on
the fourth down by eleven with two minutes left, storm
back to force overtime, win the coin toss, and end
up losing the game. Donald on the final drive goes
like six for six for ninety yards. Donald had a
great game, by the way, great game, and you're just like,
oh man, that's a gutting victory. Bears have now lost.

(27:06):
Let me see, I think that's five in a row.
And they just happen to play Detroit on Thanksgiving. So
if if you're scoring at home, I got Detroit minus
ten on Thanksgiving, Yes, double digits, don't care. I bet
the Packers minus three on Thanksgiving and I got Chiefs
minus thirteen and a half. It's not the best number. Yeah.

(27:30):
So that's where we are following Week twelve. And now
let's get to Monday night football.

(27:56):
Here's your best bet.

Speaker 2 (27:58):
All right, let's get to the best bet here on
straight fire. It was an awesome weekend in college football,
as I said at the outset, less so in the
NFL because of the darn Colts and Commanders. But nevertheless
we trudge on and I irrationally like the Chargers tonight.
Here's the problem. It's down to two and a half.
If you want three, you're gonna pay a little premium.

(28:18):
It's gonna be juiced. And I made a case on
the Herd on Friday that when you look at this
Chargers team and how they were built in the offseason. JK.
Dobbins comes in from Baltimore. Gus the bus comes in
from Baltimore. Greg Roman comes in from Baltimore. You've basically
got three key cogs in that offense coming over from

(28:39):
the Ravens. Who you face tonight. If you don't think
Greg Roman has spent the last week and maybe a
few hours here and there every week prior dedicated to
cooking up something for this game, for this revenge spot,
you're out of your mind. Okay. I don't know if
anybody can run on. The Ravens are one of the
best run stopping units in the league. I think Harball

(29:02):
is gonna stick to his guns and try to run
the hell out of the Ball. Now, obviously play action
works too, because the back end of the Ravens defense
is not good. It does sound like Kyle Hamilton will
have no injury designation and he's fine. Rokwan Smith is
the guy to watch. If he's not there, that's a
big cog in the middle of the defense for run
stopping that. Hopefully the Chargers can take advantage of also Ravens.

(29:25):
We'll see how they do defending Will Disley in the
Chargers fleet of linebackers. I just, for some reason, I'm
of the belief, yes, Lamar Jackson is awesome, but this
Ravens defense is just it's I just think it's unwatchable,
Like they cannot get stops at all. They've been shredded
the last few weeks, and frankly, Lamar has been kind
of bottled up. I expect Mac and Bosa coming off

(29:47):
the edge to hopefully contain him, and then it's like,
all right, can we stop Derrick Henry. Yeah, I think
the probably do an okay job stopping Derrick Henry. But
but this is a Ravens offense that you know, primetime.
I have a few in the Horbowl Baltimore shows up.
I'm guessing on points. I'm on the over here, and
let me see what the what the number I got

(30:07):
was for the over because I got it early in
the week, and I'm on over forty eight and a half.
I'm seeing something like a thirty twenty seven type victory
for the Chargers. Chargers tend to play a lot of
close games, as everybody knows. I don't want to say

(30:29):
the Chargers have a quarterback edge here as you guys,
I know everybody loves Lamar Jackson. You can't say stuff
about him that isn't super positive. I just think Herbert's
playing out of his mind right now. And I trust,
I actually trust the Chargers back end more than I
do the Ravens, even though they're starting two rookies at cornerbacks,
like who's gonna kill you, Zay Flowers? As long as
they you don't get beat over the top by Zave Flowers.

(30:50):
You know, you keep everything in front of you. Then hey, hey, Derrek,
Henry and h and Lamar bring it, you know, come
for us. So I'll go thirty twenty seven Chargers and
an exciting one now I am obviously holding off Justin
Herbert in a fantasy situation. I'm in the clubhouse up
by I don't know thirty something, but he's got Herbert,

(31:11):
Cameron Dicker the kicker, and the Chargers defense. Somehow, I'm
seventy five percent chance to win the game. I don't
understand that, but whatever, fantasy football. Who cares? So we
had We had a great, great slate of games on Sunday,
a lot of action. Hopefully that continues and we're back tomorrow.
