Speaker 1 (00:14):
Remember and love Durgon Park are certainly familiar with their
signature dessert, Indian pudding. Oh my favorite, and Susan our
listeners want to know more about Indian puddings.
Speaker 2 (00:23):
In so a lot of people consider Indian pudding to
be America's first dessert. It's basically sweetened corn meal porridge
and it's sweetened with molasses, and that's really it's distinguishing
characteristic and of course we love to eat it with
vanilla ice cream.
Speaker 3 (00:39):
And Durgon Park the restaurant in Quincy Market in the
North Market building.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
Durgon Park is really closely associated with Indian pudding, and
the restaurant served a lot of traditional Yankee comfort foods,
but Indian pudding was really one of the favorites there.
Speaker 4 (00:57):
It's rare to find it on restaurant menus, isn't it is?
Speaker 5 (01:01):
I think maybe because it's pretty old fashioned and people
want maybe sweeter desserts or more elaborate desserts. It's very
you know, it's such a simple dessert that I think
people just aren't looking for it anymore.
Speaker 4 (01:11):
Make mine a double.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
