Speaker 1 (00:03):
Hey there, Welcome to Connoisseur's Corner. This is Jordan. Great
to be with you as always, and we're talking about
wine today with Ken Hoggins of Ken'swineguide dot com. Looking
ahead to the new year twenty twenty six. What are
your thoughts on trying something new?
Speaker 2 (00:16):
Yeah, this is always one of our favorite segments. Both
these grapes I'm going to introduce you to today originally
came from the southern France, but both these wine options
are made in the US. So the first recommendation to
try is the twenty twenty four j Lore Wildflower Valdegae
for thirteen dollars. What a steal this wine is. You'll
find this wine to be light, plus bodied, balance round,
(00:36):
very easy to drink. Some loam and strawberry flavors in
their light red, raspberry and plum faint tans drift away nicely.
It reminded me of a nice crew level chrewblaz Gammet
from Bourgelais, but at a much better price. Put it
with a cherry and rosemary beaked check in.
Speaker 1 (00:51):
Let's look at another new wine to try in the
new year.
Speaker 3 (00:53):
The next recommendation comes from Virginia. It's a white wine
The King Family twenty twenty four Petit Mensa for thirty
four dollars is very good. Tasting Panel member Mark and
I try a lot of Virginia whines and he scored
this one ninety two points. It's got fragrant baked pear
and honeysuckle on the nose with medium plus acidity. It's
slightly creamy and has good balance. There's some Andrew pear,
(01:15):
beeswax and light ruby grapefruit flavors in there, and it's
fruity and extended serve it slightly chilled with some broiled
halibate with a lemon butter sauce and explore petite men saying.
Speaker 1 (01:26):
It's going to be a great year. Thank you, Ken,
We'll see you in the new one. All part of
