(00:00):
Mac, I once again come toyou with hat in hand. I have
already apologized in the past for ridiculing, coming down upon Peter McAllister, saying
that he was the worst father ofall time, not sticking up for his
son for when Frank called him alittle jerk. We've discussed this. Sometimes
kids are just little jerks. Iforgive him and we can move past that

(00:24):
now. I don't think Kevin asas bad as a father as Frank is
an uncle. Frank's a horrible person. Frank's a worse uncle and probably father
than Ken or Peter Peter mcows Yeah, Sorry, What did RAFFI do to
bring this on? Don't you darebring him up? Don't you dare blame

(00:46):
him? What was the incident?Let's use a different Uh, let's call
someone else. Let's say Leonardo didsomething, Okay, but uh no,
no, no, no, MichaelanelMichaelangelo. That's but uh. You know
in Billy Madison, when he speaksgibberish or speaks like a child when he's
an adult, when he's a grownman. So this is something that I

(01:07):
used to do to my father, where I would, you know, speak
more like a child to do somethinglike that to kind of annoy him.
Sure, well, sometimes Michaelangelo doesthat to me, my four year old.
And now I I am with BillyMadison's father. Cut it out,
Billy. So what's what's going tobe your payback, your slow but steady

(01:27):
payback. Nothing, nothing, Iam fully no, I am fully expecting.
When did I mature? When Iwas thirty two, thirty three?
I would say probably about two yearsbefore you got married. Okay, so
I have about thirty more years ofthis. I am expecting full payback for

(01:48):
all of the torturing I did tomy father. Do you remember? Do
you remember that I was in aman pageant in high school. It's called
Mister whs. I do recall thisyet, where one of the bits was
that you were supposed to give arose to someone in the audience. And
what I did was I announced myfather's name and I said, get out

(02:10):
of the way. I'm giving thisto Uncle Steve. Uncle Steve's great man.
He is. We can agree onthat. I don't know if we've
ever talked about this on the potif we, If we had, it's
been a long time. Goo wassuch a dickhead to his father that in
order to repent or to apologize. He got his father who's alive and was

(02:35):
alive at the time, still hisfather's face tattooed on his leg. Goo
has his father's face on his ownleg. Just because all is forgiven I've
been told about now, just thethe quick payback for Michaelangel. I was
thinking in my head, like, you just gotta start giving him like increasingly
more spicy foods, unexpectedly spicy upa pepper, just the you know,

(03:00):
just the spice, not like anactual spice, the what's that called?
I'm blanking on words right now,Just a little piece of pepper in there.
He freaks out, Oh, pepperguy. He doesn't want anything spicy
or remotely spicy in his food.Oh, the Filipino side of the family
can't be pleased with that. Butthen he'll then on eat like spicy rice.
So I don't know, all right, Just put a little extra hot

(03:22):
sauce in his next meal and seeif that'll teach him a lesson. One
good, Three, yeah, justthree, King of Queen Mall Street good

(03:47):
and I'm Mac and we are prankingchildren. When I was young, a
cousin, but like a cousin throughmarriage, his mother used to punish him
by rubbing to Basco sauce on theirtongue. You can't do that no more.
Well, when you when you usea swear word with your own mouth,
you get a little tabasci in themouth. So I thought it was

(04:09):
a fair trade off. What wasthe worst punishment that you've ever received?
I got grounded for like two weeksbecause I stole a Pokemon card. Okay,
yeah, that was probably about theworst. But you I got grounded
for a weekend for looking at certaincontent on a school computer. Yeah,
you're also not the oldest. Soall of my punishments were like ninety percent

(04:32):
less for my sister, who's fouryears younger. Yeah, so I would
get punished for a week two weeks. It would blow my dad actually maybe
write apology letters once to like fourpeople. That kind of that sucked.
I like that though. It wasa grounding, and then I also had
to do that, so it waskind of bullshit. Fucking pick your lane,
dad. Then my sister she'd getin trouble, she'd do worse stuff

(04:54):
and get like one night of groundingtwo nights. Maybe, I'm like,
what the fuck is this bullshit?I was also very good at when I
knew that I did something wrong,I was able to like hide something in
one of my siblings and be like, hey, look over there, that's
their empty bottle of plans. Exactly. You always do that, Mac.

(05:15):
What is today's topic today? We'retalking about unceremonious exits from television shows or
disappearing characters, disappearing acts from characterson television shows, and Go has breaking
them down into three categories here foryour viewing and listening pleasure. Well,
these are kind of three separate categories. These are three different topics. Actually,

(05:38):
i'd probably say that yeah, butI would say that they Oh,
okay, we have three mini categorieson here. The first big topic,
the one that we have titled thisepisode, is characters with unceremonious exits.
These are characters that were on atelevision show for more than a season and
we're pretty much either just written offthe show, their contracts were not picked

(06:00):
up, they got no goodbye.Uh So, I'm just now learning that
we have three different categories. Ithought it was like one thing that you
broke down into three subsets. Mymain prep for this episode was looking up
songs on Spotify. That had theword gone in it, and what you
find gone by in sync, greatfucking tune. That's when they got to
like full justin as the lead,no switching off, little R and B.

(06:25):
There we got Gone by Dirk Spentley. Another good one Gone, Gone
Gone Philip Phillips. Everyone knows thatone Gone Girl, Sizza Going, Going
Gone. Luke Comb's all strong tunes. So I'm expecting a sounder from one
of those. I'm not allowed toplay sounders anymore, so you can shove
those up your butt. This what'sthat song with the She's gone, She's

(06:47):
gone, She's gone, God,she just gone, She's gone. Oh,
that's a good song. She's gone, might be She's gone. Yeah.
So in honor the reason why we'redoing this topic is in honor of
our next trivia at Ice scottscraft Dale'sPaul and Oates that we're doing. We're
doing gone trivia, Geez gone.We are doing parks and rec trivia.

(07:13):
This is next Wednesday night, Julyseventeenth, seven o'clock, idle handscraft Dale's
eight and nine Commercial Street, Malden, Massachusetts, and on Parks and rec
there was a certain character that atthe end of season two. He was
a main character for the first twoseasons, appeared in thirty episodes and was
really he was the love interest. He was the part of the love triangle

(07:35):
that kind of kept the show likewill they won't they type, and that
was Mark Brandanowitz, played by PaulSchneider, left after season two. The
reason why is that he was frustratedwith the lack of direction in his role,
and the show said that the doorwas opened for him to return.
Yeah, I'm actually surprised we neversaw him, considering the last season and

(07:57):
a half of that show is prettyweak. He never wonted the come back
just for like a finale thing thatwould have been interesting. I didn't think
Mark Brandanis was a bad character, however, in a show that has I
don't know, eight to ten reallybig personalities, he was purposefully a really
bland personality. So I get hisfrustration in the role, but you also

(08:18):
needed a character like that, whichBen Wyatt sort of took over. But
then they expounded upon ben Wyatt.Yeah, I don't know, Like the
show obviously got better after he left, but also because like it was,
I don't think it was additioned bysubtraction, they just brought into extremely strong
characters to replace him. Yeah. And also we'll get to this in a
second, because the second category hereis that characters or not category. The

(08:41):
second topic on this show is charactersthat changed, like flipped a switch on
a show without even really deserving thatswitch. It's just the creators of the
show being like, I don't likethis character, I'm just gonna change it.
And because Leslie Nope was so unlikablein season one and they kind of
worked her way through season two untilshe really she was a very likable character

(09:03):
by season four. But that wasthe show's problem. Well, I also
think obviously she's your lead character, and the office figured this out with Holly
eventually. You need someone to matchyour freak. You know, you couldn't
have this bland milk toast Brandana Witzdating Leslie Nope. They figured it out

(09:24):
with Ben Wyatt that work, justas Michael Scott found his his Holly like
as Chris Drager too. Yeah, you just which is again same matching there
each other's freaks there. You justneeded better matches than what they had on
the show. Obviously got Andy andApril as well, but it just they
it ended up being in a betterdirection, pulling Leslie out of a love

(09:45):
story and then slowly building the benWyatt one more like Brandana quits oh smashed
it. So, yes, theydid say goodbye to him on the show.
He said that he was going tothe private sector, but it was
never like I'm definitely gone. Yeah, so it definitely felt like he was
gonna come back. You know whonever came back and was mentioned once not
mentioned, but he was in aflashback in season three. We'll get to

(10:07):
this in a second. Is Chuckfrom Happy Days. This is where the
trope began and Chuck Richie's brother,Howard son, Maryam's son, Jone's brother.
That's the Cunningham family. Chuck wasplayed by Gavin Oh Hurray, Oh
Hurley, like John or O'Hurley. You want to run the show, you

(10:31):
want to fucking host the show Mac. He only appeared in ten episodes,
which is kind of crazy. Heleft after season one, and Chuck was
written out of the script by goingoff to college. That's an easy way
to write a character off, andhe just never returned. Oh Hurley.
He said that he hung around forthe first half of the season and then

(10:52):
he asked out of his contract. It was not his cup of tea.
The only two characters on Happy DaysI know are Richie and Phonsie Ralph Happy
Day's Blues, Pinky Tusk a dayTelevision, Leather, Tuscadel, GREATLDS.
So name Happy Days, Mary Beth. That was Richie's wife, eventual wife?

(11:13):
Did you not watch Happy Days?I loved that Happy Days run for
I want to say nine seasons.I think I only ever watched it as
like a six year old at sixam on Saturday mornings. And then Richie,
I believe, left the show aftersix or seven seasons. It might
have went thirteen seasons. At RonHoward rich that's Ron Howard, Yeah,
yeah, And the show was justtruly Phonsie's house. Say look at me,
big big Habby Days guy, okayMac. Thirty Rock, remember Josh?

(11:39):
I? Uh, thirty Rocks abit of a blind spot for me.
I have probably seen thirty episodes ofthirty Rock. I've never sat down
and tried to watch thirty Rock.Uh. Part of it is it is
like I don't know how to describeit, Like the it's just not subtle

(12:01):
at all. There's no subtlety tothirty rocks, so it's a little off
putting at times. Okay, soyou said that you've seen about thirty episodes,
maybe you've seen all the ones withJosh played by Lonnie Ross. He
appeared in thirty seven episodes and leftin season four question Mark. He did
make a return at some point, but he was written off the show.
He of course, was one ofthe three cast members of Liz Lemons show

(12:26):
that was not Jenna and not Tracy, so you really didn't need him.
I just googled Lonnie Ross. Ihave seen episodes of that fella. In
them, he did a Seinfeld impression, a really bad Seinfeld impression. Well,
or is it good? It's almostgood to do a bad seinfelds Well,
you either want to do a reallybad impression or really good impression.
The in between stuff is garbage.Agreed, Agreed. Kind of a joke

(12:48):
off of The Happy Days One isDonna's sister on that seventy show. She
was portrayed by Amanda Fuller for oneepisode. The creators then wanted Donna to
be an old child. Tina wasthe name of her sister. She was
mentioned once after that in a soapopera like parody and you brought this up.

(13:09):
Eric's sister also disappears. Yeah,I don't remember the Donasista thing,
so that's kind of weird I have. I guess I haven't rewatched that seventy
show, but that was a showI watched, you know while it was
airing. Larie just like slowly disappearsoff the show, never to be talked
about again. Well, they recastedher, They recast her after season one.

(13:30):
I believe, No, she gotmarried to what was it season No,
maybe like season three. Was ita new character or a new actress.
We probably should have looked this upwith the fourth topic here of characters
that switched actors. But I believethat it was the original one when she
married Fez and then it swapped outafter that. So maybe season five is

(13:50):
when they switched. Ah, Ithought she went away well before that.
I don't know. Good research inmy part. Yeah, thank you for
writing down a note and then notfollowing through on it. Well, I
did put a question mark at theend of it. Can we get to
the boy meets World section of thisshow? Sure? Sure? When miss
Goom meets word Goom meets were thesewondering down this road that we call.

(14:18):
This show famously had a nerd onit in its first season by the name
of Stuart Minkus, played by LeeNorris. He appeared in twenty two episodes
that first season and then came backfor one episode in season five as a
gag. But Ryder Strong claimed atwizard World Comic Con that Norris's character Mincus

(14:39):
was written off of the show becauseof a fellow TGIF show that also featured
a nerd, and the higher upsthey didn't want too many nerds. Arkle
was their nerd. Yeah, thisis uh, this feels like an overreaction
because Minkus actually added to the show. I know they they leaned a lot

(15:01):
on the Mencas versus Tapanga stuff inseason one. You could have absolutely had
MICUs pop up like every two orthree episodes the rest of the series,
and it would have worked, evenlike MICUs with them in college would have
worked. It's a it was disappointingfor MICUs to never really play our major
role in that show. Again.Yeah, and also I believe seasons two,

(15:22):
three, and four almost every episodehad a nameless nerd that was shoved
into a locker that could have justbeen MICUs. Every single every time MICUs.
Yeah, yeah, MICUs lives inthe locker. It's interesting too.
Do you think that they always plannedto have the transformation that Tapanga went on
in that series, because you rememberseason one, she's drying lipstick on her

(15:46):
face and then all of a sudden, she's a heart throb like one year
later. Yeah, I think thatit's kind of off of like, Okay,
we've got these uh, we've gotthese three actors that are constantly in
Team Beat. We've got Ryder Strong, We've got Wilferdell, and we have
Danielle Fischel. Let's go ahead andlet's make them the hot commodities of this

(16:07):
show. Let's not make her weird. And I bet as she aged up
a bit, she was just likestraight up too attractive to make her the
nerds. So that probably didn't helpthings, Yeah, because even in season
three, she was still like environmental, let's save the let's not have Sean
have a pet pig type of thing. Also on Boy Meets World, Jonathan
Turner, played by Anthony Quinn, appeared in fifty three episodes from season two

(16:33):
through the end of season four.In that season four finale, he gets
into a bike accident, and thenafter that episode we never see him again.
He is mentioned once by Mancus inthat gag in season five, and
what I read is that Disney wanteda reset on the show for season five.

(16:53):
Yeah, because he was in thehospital at the end of season four.
That's when Sewn joins a cults mistermac clause in him. Mister mac
though, doesn't want Eric, hewants Eric to leave, and then mister
Turner's bicycle accident bring Sean back toyou know, reality. Mister Turner was
a good character, great show. But yeah, you're right, Miss Turner

(17:15):
was a great character on the show. However, there was not gonna be
much need for him as they weremoving on to the college aged years,
because first of all, they're goingto be away. Just age him up
with Phoenie, who cares. Yeah, yeah, what were you gonna have
him and Feoenie having coffee together allthe time? Because you were gonna everything
that you were getting out of Turner, you still got out of Feenie.
Feenne taught at the college. Turnercould also teach at the Carter didn't have

(17:37):
the right degrees to get a jobthere. See the joke with Turner and
Phoenie is that Turner was young,Feenie was old? How come Gil riddlely
this? Yes, this might bea question for the youths out there that
I don't think are listening to thispodcast. Definitely not. How come?
And are what thir teen years ofschooling before college? College a different animal?

(18:06):
How come we never had young teachers? I feel like I did an
elementary school. Oh no, Ihad a couple real ancient folks in elementary
school, a couple young girl ones. But I feel like today every teacher's
young because no one wants to teachit anymore, so they all leave the
profession after ten years and then theyget brand spanking new twenty four year olds.
Well in high school, didn't youhave mister too? I had old

(18:29):
freshman year, I had both.I never had young who quit because yeah,
well yeah, he didn't want todo it anymore. Yes. Also
with mister Turner, we had EliWilliams, who I wouldn't call a main
character on this show, but hedid appear in eighteen episodes. He was
mister Turner I'm joking over here, mister Turner's friend. Yeah. He was

(18:52):
like a tertiary character. He wasgood though, because it gave Turner some
other life other than trying to lecturethe kids and just talking to Feenie or
just talking to the woman that healmost got engaged to but instead uh had
Sean live with him. Also onBoy Meets World, do you remember when
Jason Marsden played Jason Marsden? Idon't. I do not. So he

(19:18):
left after season three question mark.I think he was only in nine episodes.
That doesn't feel right. He wasEric's only friend for the first three
seasons. Is this the guy?Oh yeah, step by Step? Yeah,
yeah, yeah, I do recallhim. I do recall him.
Yeah. Well, as we spoketo a bit with the Topanga stuff.

(19:41):
Once they focused the story to likereally just those three or four they didn't
need these secondary friends, you know. But he left on his own because
of a lack of appearances, andprobably because he got step by Step.
It's cyclical, you know, yeah, what hold on? Hold on?
Yes, step by Step had tohave started before Boy Meets World. I
would say, around the same timestep by Step. Hey, mf kill

(20:07):
step by Step. Addition, SusanneSummers Dana, who's the brunette daughter?
Yeah, and then who's the blondedaughter Karen, I wouldn't now MFK then
f Susanne Summers. Kill the blondeand marry the brunettes. I'm swapping.

(20:29):
I'm marrying Susan in Summers and I'mfing Dana. I think I think that's
a better move because then I getto hang out with Suzanne Summers. I
will ask you this question right now, though, is in nineteen ninety five?
Can you tell me the Disney characterthat Jason Marsden lent his voice to,
Oh, nineteen ninety five animated movie. Yep, so Lion King's ninety

(20:51):
three four Pocahontas is the last ninetyfive. There was another one. Aladdin
was ninety five, Aladdin was ninetytwo, Aladdin was ninety two. What
else came out in ninety five? No? Who oh? He was Goofy's

(21:14):
sons, Max Goof. He wasMax Goof. That's right, Max Goo.
That's a nice, a fun factfor the folks. Then maybe that's
why he left barm Meats World.Yeah. Step by step started in ninety
one, you dickhead for step bystep fucking trivia. That's not what we're
not doing. Step by step triviaat Idol Hands all the Massachusetts we're doing

(21:38):
family matters quality. I suppose you'reright. And then also Eric then goes
a full season with having no friendsand then he gets Jack in season five.
What season was when the uh thegirl was singing about him? That
was season four? Okay, that'swhen he worked him and his dad had
that outdoor shop. Yeah, thatwas not bad. That's probably prim Eric.

(22:03):
By the way, season four,he wasn't too far over the edge.
He wasn't, you know, youngand just chasing girls. Well,
then he also put on the freshmanfifteen when they got to college, even
though he was not a freshman. We're going to get into Eric Matthews a
little bit later in this episode. All right, fair enough, Mac.
Do you remember Richie Ayanucci from theKing of Queens. I do, because

(22:25):
if you go back or if youcatch an early episode of Keia Queens,
they so badly wanted to have KevinJames whose name is Escaping Beach Show,
Doug with who's the tall black guy? That was Deacon Doug Deacon and Richie.
They wanted those three to like bea thing, and they tried making

(22:47):
it a thing the first season,if not two, and then it's just
no one cared about those because hewas quietly written off the show after season
three or in season three he appearedin forty three episodes. I'm not sure
if Kevin James's cousin was on theshow the whole time or joined at that
point because Doug needed more friends.Oh, by the way, he was

(23:08):
played by Larry Romano, and Ihad to quickly be like, is that
Ray's brother? Ray's cousin? Isthat like a thank you for Doug getting
his start on Everybody Loves Raymond?Yeah? Probably No, they're not related.
They're not. You think Kevin Jamesthought they were. And he's like,
I owe it to Ray. Ibet, I bet, and I
bet Larry. It was like, yeah, you kind of owe one to
Ray And then Ray, what areyou doing, Kevin, that's not my

(23:33):
cousin? Uh? I saw TikTokfuck two months ago? Maybe a month
ago. Yeah, talking about themost underrated or funniest joke that no one
ever talks about, and it's RayRomano and the Big Sick asking U Kumel
about nine to eleven. That's sounderrated? That's your favorite joke? Though,

(23:53):
that's your favorite joke because not alot of people have seen The Big
Sick Surprisingly, so number one recommendit is a rom com. Number two
that I can't underscore how hard Ilaughed at like one in the morning it
was. It was magical. Afterninety six episodes on Family Matters, Judy,
played by Jamie Foxworth, left afterthe fourth season a combo of she

(24:15):
had little to do and they hadbudget cuts. Uh, yeah, I
remember Judy. I also believe shegot into pornography after the fact. I
don't think you're allowed to say thaton YouTube. I've been watching a lot
of clips tiktoks of it. Peoplereplace that word with corn sometimes. I
see that when it's tight. Ididn't know that about when it's spoken of.

(24:37):
But I've been trying to think recentlyof like, do we need to
stop saying bad words so that YouTubewill like us. Never gonna happen for
me, so you'll just want toremove me from the show. I believe
Jamie Foxworth had an early two thousandsrun in adult movies. If I'm not
mistaken, I can tell you thathappens. Yes, my LimeWire can tell

(24:57):
you that happens on Friday Night Lights. You'll have to fill in this here
is Santiago, who was on theshow for a season season two, I
believe, played by Ben and thecontes. Did your Jamie Foxworth downloads play

(25:23):
into your weekend punishment? Is that? No, I didn't use LimeWire at
school. You know what I did? This was this was my thing was
so they you know, nabbed meand I said, sahere else They pat
and you know, they were like, what were you doing? And I'm

(25:44):
like, oh, someone told methere was a really funny George Bush website.
So I was. I was onwhite House dot gov or whatever,
like white house dot com. Whatwas the that was like seventh grade?
Yeah, yeah, so I wentthere and then it turns out it was
something else. Yeah, I rememberthat was before and this is why always
the Internet will always be ahead ofsecurity and whatnot. This is before the

(26:07):
schools even know how to put upfirewalls or block websites. So we were
in seventh grade and that brand newiMac lab and we were just straight up
on white House dot com. Andit was the easiest excuse ever if you
got caught. Fucking Goo is theonly one who got taken down, though
Santiago on Friday Night Lights have noidea who this dude is. Don't remember

(26:27):
him at all, all right, people seem to like him. That's why
I put him on there. Goodenough. Have you ever heard of Ross's
son Ben on Friends Mac. He'splayed by multiple actors over the years,
including the Sprouse Twins, and appearedin twenty four episodes, but last appeared
in season eight and was only kindof passingly mentioned after that. What do

(26:49):
you think happened to Ben? It'svery bizarre, but it does coincide with
the way Ross's character changes. He'slike a devout, dedicated father for two
three seasons, and then as theyfurther developed the Ross and Rachel stuff,
and as that gets more and more, he just forgets about his son.
They just throw Ben by the wayside. I do like the theory. There's

(27:11):
a theory out there that Ross justloses completely, like he has no custody
of his son, and that iswhy in season nine he is completely off
the hinges. Well, yeah,it's not bad. It's not bad.
Yeah, minds out, I canget down with that. You never watched
Riverdale, but I believe for oneseason we had Josie and the Pussycats,

(27:32):
and then after that it was justJosie, No Pussycats. The Pussycats left
would did they ever play music atall? Yeah? They would always play
music. Josie still did oh Schwitzsolo mac on New Girl Now the second
time, he did get a goodbye, but Coach was in the pilot,
then left because he joined another televisionshow, and at that time he was

(27:56):
replaced by Winnie the Bish, whogrew into being one of the best characters
on that show. But then Coachcame back. Did he go to the
show with Alicia Cuthbert? That show? I believe it was. That show's
actually pretty decent. I don't likeNew Girl. I have tried twice now

(28:17):
to get through to get to thethird season, and I don't know if
I ever have. I love twoof the characters, and then I'm middling
on two others, and then Ihate two others. Big Schmid guy,
he's pretty much the only person thatmakes me laughing. Whinny the Bitch,
Baby, If you can get toseason three, Winny the Bitch is the
best character. Yeah, I can't. I don't get that far. I've

(28:38):
been trying to get to the MeganFox episodes and I can't get there.
Don't even bother Those are the worstfucking episodes. Those are terrible. He
then came back for forty episodes, joined the Gang no one left, and
then out of nowhere, he optedout after season four, damon Wayne,
with no other commitments. He's justlike, I've had enough, fair enough.

(29:00):
Yeah, seems dumb. He didmake that movie with with what's his
face? Though? Yeah, butthat was during the show though. I
think it was around that time thathe was leaving. No, I think
it was during the show. Hejust that's when they shot the movie and
then he left after that. Youknow what movie sucks? What's that?
That movie? You are correct?Yes, that movie sucks. Hey,

(29:22):
Matt, you did this next one? Yeah, this is She doesn't really
fall into either of these three categories, but she makes most sense in this
one. This is a very oftenforgotten about character because it's in the final
season of Saved by the Bell. We're talking about Tory here. If you
don't remember Tori, that makes alot of sense the story goes. The

(29:44):
anecdote is the final season was supposedto be eight episodes. After they finished
shooting the eight episodes, the studiothe network ordered eight more episodes, but
Unfortunately, Tiffany amber Thiessen and ElizabethBerkley had already moved on to Like prior
commitments, so they hired I forgetthe actress's name to play this girl,

(30:06):
Tory, who was that kind ofa rougher and tougher We're almost I guess
a combination of the kind of likeshow from the Facts of Life. Yeah,
And so they shot eight more episodes, and then when that season went
to air, instead of airing itthe way it was shot, they spliced
in the Tory episodes every other Soultimately, at the end of the season,

(30:27):
the graduation finale, end of thenon college years, here everyone has
their moment to shine and gets asend off. Tory is just completely absent.
Who was roughly a main character forthe eight of sixteen episodes she was
in. And it's also really funnyto think about that. You know,

(30:48):
this high school Baside High has theseuber popular girls, but you never see
Tory interact with Kelly or Jesse becausethey never actually shot together. Why not,
and I'm stupid on completely off onthis. Why not air the first
eight episodes with the original cast andthen just have the next eight episodes just
be like Zach is off doing somethingin the summer and he meets new friends.

(31:12):
Yeah, they really fucked that up. Or you could very easily just
shoot a thirty second scene with Torygettinger diploma and a lot of stuff would
have come away. Yeah, thesenext two don't really count, but I
just like to bring them up.And that is two main characters pretty much
like they are the show. Andyes, there was a ton of like

(31:34):
talk about it, and they wouldkind of mention this character. But like
Charlie Sheen leaving Two and a HalfMen, and I guess they did this
whole storyline at the end that Alanthought he was still alive and they were
looking for him, and then ChuckLorie dropped a piano on his head or
something. Listen, Two and ahalf Men was decent. Then it got
bad. The finale is one ofthe worst finales in television history. It's

(31:57):
terrible. Chuck LORI thought he waslike really getting meta, and then after
all that what you just said,he looks at the camera and goes winning.
I remember that. It's really bad. It's really fucking bad. Like
that, man, Charlie Sheen madeall of those people a lot of money,
And yes, I get, youknow, he had an unceremonious exit

(32:20):
from the show, but god, what are you doing? Man? That's
so fucking stupid. And then,of course, after some off camera controversy,
Roseanne was written off The Conners. They did deal with her death on
the show. She died of opioids. I'll just laughing at that laughing matter.
Yeah, well, anyone that hasknown an opioid addicted person knows they're

(32:46):
not as fat as Roseanne bar Soit didn't really fit the character. I
guess a a better like uh likesurprise death would be in the original scene
finale of Roseanne when she just inpassing. Is like, and I started
writing this book when Dan died tocope with Dan's death, and you're like,

(33:08):
Dan's been dead this whole time.I think a better finale would have
been an asteroid hitting the earth inthe way it did for the Dinosaurs.
That was a good finale, andthat was Earl's fault. Shall we move
on to this next topic topic here? Well, No, this is one
that when you think of Parks andrec and the you know, it was

(33:28):
almost canceled. It was almost canceledafter season one, almost canceled during season
two, and that would be becausepeople did not like the character of Leslie
Nope. They thought that it wastoo much of a Michael Scott ripoff,
and they changed the character for thebetter without like really going through these like
trials and tribulations of advancing the characteron screen to get them where they need

(33:52):
to be. They just kind ofchanged her. I know exactly what you
mean. I think we really underratethe fact that Parks and really started to
gain notoriety in more viewers when TheOffice started getting bad. I really don't
think we can understate how much thataffected, because people were sort of looking
for that Office sized hole in theirlife and Parks and Rec Was the perfect

(34:14):
show to fill it. But whenParks and Rec started, I think it
was season four of the Office maybe, so when that went down, it
really coincided with Parks and Rec goingup. And believe me, I love
Parks and Rec. I just thinksome of the criticisms of Leslie Leslie Nope
in those early seasons was just thefact that The Office was still so amazing

(34:36):
that no one was really paying attentionto that show. So the topic here
is characters who want who underwent bigchanges and it really had nothing to do
with their development on the show.It was just that, Hey, we
don't like what we have here, let's change this, Leslie. Nope,
I have brought up and I thinkthis really was for the better. It
made the show way more sustainable. And you, like the first season or

(34:59):
so, I didn't believe any ofher friendships, any of her relationships.
By the end you understood why everyoneloved her them leaning into her platonic relationships
is what really became the strength ofthe show. And so obviously that was
a much welcome to change, nodoubt. Now let's go to Eric Matthews

(35:19):
on Boy Meets World. Have alreadydiscussed him briefly earlier, and season one
teenage heartthrob Corey looks up to him. He is Corey's idol. He he's
a very competent person. He's notgreat at school. He's great with girls,
and then out of nowhere bad withgirls, and you question if he's

(35:40):
capable of living a normal life.I will say, though, how many
guys did we know? And howbig of a trope is it that,
like the popular funny guy in highschool finishes high school and life really comes
at you pretty quick, which isexactly what happened with Eric Matthews. Well,
so I will throw this at you, and this is a great,

(36:00):
great conspiracy theory. I believe Isaw it on Reddit. I've seen it
on YouTube too. Is that sothere's a gradual decline. It's a bit
sped up in season four and thenagain through season six. But in the
middle of season six, Eric triesto adopt his little brother It's Little Brother
Big Brother program Tommy. In theepisode, no one backs Eric. Everyone

(36:22):
tells Eric, this is a badidea. You are not able to take
care of this child. And thenwhen Tommy is eventually adopted into like a
foster home, Eric has to dothis thing where he's like, I never
wanted you anyways, and then Tommy'slike, I hate you. I never
liked you. And then after thatpoint, Eric turns into a cartoon character

(36:46):
set the playbook or the blueprint forRoss. Almost yeah, I kind of
buy into that. And then apparentlyand I never really watched Girl Meets World
but Plays with Square Girls was runningfor office and while add a debate,
Eric he changed his name to Playswith Squirrels. While add a debate and

(37:07):
older Tommy shows up fucking heartfelt.I believe I have watched one episode of
Girlmates World. I watched the firstepisode. Yeah, I might watched the
first one. I'm not watching this. The most notable thing about Girlmate's World
is that the best friend in theshow of Corey into paying his daughter is
Sabrina Carpenter. Now, is thatreally her? Yeah? That is I

(37:30):
know, And I used to readup on the show every once in a
while. There was a little thingof like, is that Sean Hunter's daughter,
And then they're like, no,it would have made sense because she
was essentially playing Sean Hunter. Yeah, that's exactly what she just played On
New Girl. Jess was always veryquirky. You know, she's living to
the beat of her own drum glisses, got bangs, she sings on a

(37:52):
ukulele. But out of nowhere, like she just reverts to this like one
note goofy character that's like slapsticky andlike I think it's season six where she's
like stalking this guy and like jumpinginto his truck and it's a very odd
episode that really says, like whatare they doing with this character? I

(38:15):
have two questions, Yes, howmany episodes or how many seasons of New
Girl? Is there six foll andthen a half seven? Okay, second
question, how old are they atthe beginning of that show? Late twenties
question mark? Okay, all right, well, maybe she's going through a
quarter life crisis there with mister stockytruck guy. Yeah, she tried to
date that bass player who used todate Ceci, big CC guy. Actually,

(38:40):
oh yeah, I will say this. I'll say this about New Girl.
Is that in Maybe you should justwatch this one episode They have a
great exchange where Nick believes that CCwants a popcorn maker at the bar,
but Jess is pitching Nick to dateCEC and is a whole mix up where

(39:04):
Nick thinks that she's talking about thepopcorn maker and Jess thinks that Nick is
talking about CC's vagina. Might bethe best sitcom stuff in a while.
Okay, yeah, that was mymain thing. I just didn't laugh enough
during that show. When do Jessand Nick get together? What season is
that? End of six? Sothe six six and then there's a big

(39:27):
jump forward. There's a seven yearjump forward for season seven. That took
way too long. They should havebeen together in the middle of the show.
Maybe they were maybe they dated severaltimes. I don't know. I
forget also Joey Tribiani, who seemedpretty capable at the beginning of Friends,
a little you know, dim wittedat times. By the end, you
question is, how is he afunctioning adult? Well, he's an actor,

(39:52):
and all actors can be quirky, you know. When you get further
down, the real question is,yeah, well why why in his in
his spinoff show aptly titled Joey,Well, that's how you know it's about
him. But go ahead, whysee like way more of an adult in
that show. He's still pretty dumb. And I'm kind of forgetting most of

(40:15):
Joey. I definitely watched the firstseason. I just love Drea di Matteo,
though I know you do, andwe talk about her often on the
show. Yeah, as we should. All right, that kind of flouttered.
Let's go on to this next topichere. Back that was that was
our mount rushmore of characters who underwentbig changes, and it had nothing to

(40:35):
do with the development of the show. Now, let's go on to characters
where the actors were swapped out midshow. Pay no attention, it's not
the droids you're looking for. Andso We have a couple that it was
in the pilot or a one timeappearance where a character was portrayed by someone
else and then they came to theirright senses and they swapped him out immediately,

(40:59):
And that would be Carol on Friends. They swapped it out after one
episode. Morty and Frank on Seinfeld, both George and Jerry's father fathers were
portrayed by different actors in their firstappearances. Thank god they swapped them out,
because both of their fathers were comedicstalwarts on that show, no doubt.
T Bone on Arrested Development was justplayed by a random guy in the

(41:21):
background in the pilot, and thenit was swapped out for Patris O'Neil.
Another good change there. And thenon news Radio and I forget this is
that Joe Rogan's character, I don'tknow what the guy's name is was played
by someone else at the beginning.I remember watching news radio a little bit
as a kid, but I havenever gone back and rewatched, so I
couldn't speak on that matter. Idon't want to get too deep into it.

(41:44):
But I watched a YouTube video theother day and it was just like,
why Andy Dick is the biggest pieceof shit of all time. And
then I watched it and I said, if this is all true, that
might be true. Dick does notseem like a nice person, but he
also seems like a drug addict. So I'll tell you what they said after.

(42:05):
I don't want to say it herebecause I cannot confirm nor deny what
they said in The Fresh Prince ofbel Air. This is one of the
more famous ones of all times. They swapped out Aunt Viv between seasons three
and four, and the reason whyis the original Aunt Viv I did not
write her name for some reason. But she had a feud with Will Smith.
Yeah. It was also weird. So they have talked about this in

(42:30):
interviews since, and they like sortof pretend that there wasn't a feud,
but clearly there was. Yeah. The second lady they brought into play,
Aunt Viv, was much less sassythan the first one and like more laid
back. It was a different characterwith the second actor. The first one,
like you felt like she was thematriarch of the family. Yeah,

(42:51):
she was like powerful in charge. The second one was just there to make
food for Uncle Phil and then youknow, to also give birth to baby
Nikki. Yeah, of course, big character on the show on family matters,
Harriet of course, the matriarch ofthat family, played by Joe Marie
Peyton. It was swapped out inseason nine. In the final season,

(43:13):
She's just like, I fucking hadenough of the show. Please let me
leave. And the reason why isbecause she hated Jalia White. And to
be fair, the show was prettyawful by then, and also had changed
networks for a second time. Ithink, I think for the first time.
Oh, I thought it was byon its third network by then,
But you're probably right. And actually, if you want to look up some
fun stuff, a lot of thecast hated Jalil White. That makes a

(43:35):
lot of sense they never signed upfor the Steve Rkle Show. That's one
of the better Key and Peel sketches. Also, like the first what four
seasons five seasons of that shows himlike stalking Laura and Laura not liking him
at all, and then Laura marriedI get married in season nine. Hm,

(43:57):
not great. I didn't like MyrtleOracle, no nod. Who was
the girl that stalked Steve though? What was her name? Oh? I
don't know, you know, whowas very attractive was Uh, what was
Eddie's friend's name? His girlfriend?Oh, I don't know, his girlfriend
very attractive. Okay. Then onBewitched, Darren was swapped out one Dick

(44:21):
for another York for sergeant in seasonfive for health reasons. Uh, I'm
gonna refrain from the joke. Iwas just gonna say. It wasn't a
good one. It was just itwas too easy, low hanging fruit.
When I uh, when I wasdoing this early, I was doing all
my research early, I'm like, fucking Dick's were there back then? Very

(44:42):
common name, a lot of Richardsthere. You had Richard's, Richie,
rich and Dick. Do you thinkthe Dicks chose Dick or were they assigned
Dick? Like, if your nameis Richard, I think that Dick was
as popular at the time. Right. But what I'm saying is, did
the individual use to go by Dickover rich or Richie or did they just

(45:04):
get called Dick by other kids andthen it's stuck. No. I feel
like it's like that thing when you'rewhen you're named Frankie and then you get
to the age of thirty and everyone'slike, I'm not calling you Frankie.
You're an adult. I'm gonna callyou Frank. It's like, uh,
the person's called rich and then bythe age of thirty thirty five, Hi,
I'm Dick Maxine. Maxine is thehot girl from Family Matters. Thank

(45:27):
you for also shut out Myra alsodoes it for me? Myra was the
one who was into Oracle right,Yes, yes, that's what you were
looking for. Okay. On theMonsters, cousin Marilyn was swapped out Beverly
Owens to Pat Priest. How aboutthat? Yeah, you know that's there's
someone out there that's like, ah, I learned something new today. I

(45:47):
should post that one on YouTube.I'm you're your Gilligan's Island. Fucking fun
fact is still our most viewed thingon you because it's a fucking fun fact.
It's a fucking it's a it's alittle known I shouldn't do more Hawaii
tours. There was other shit inthere that I wish I could remember.
There was a couple more show things. So the outs. The exterior establishing

(46:12):
shot for the police station Hawaii fiveoh is like almost like a church like
building. It's not at all policestation. That's a good fun fact.
There were so many fun facts onthat tour, but the only one that
I really truly remembered was the GilligansAllen one. The best thing is that
if you look at the demo onthat, like the people that viewed that
clip, it's all fifty five plusold flats. It's just all old people

(46:36):
that are just like, this ismy kind of kid clip, right,
this is my t YouTube short onRoseanne. Becky was swapped out in season
five Leasy Gordonson for Sarah Chuck.Original Becky way better than Sarah Chock.
Sarah Chuck stinks Sarah. A lotof the reason why I don't love Scrubs

(46:59):
is because of Sarah. Sarah Chalkis just like a She's just like a
veteran sitcom actor. Though. Yeah, I guess it's like Jamie Moyer.
You PLoP her down, she's gonnagive you six. I think she's also
the voice of uh Morty's mom andRick and Morty. You are correct,
Yes, yeah, there you go. Speaking of voicing someone on Family Guy,

(47:22):
Lacey Shabert was the voice of Megand then Meelacunis took over after season
one. I need to ask youthis. I did no research. I
saw a blurb is Lazy Shabert theheiress to toaster Strudel. I would marry
Meelaicunis and f Lacy Shabert. Whoare you killing? Meg? There?

(47:45):
We go? Okay, that's agood Is she the heiress to toaster Strudel?
I don't know, give it aquick google. This is when I
find out this live? Okay? She and nepo babies? We learning that
right now? Is Lazy Shabert theheiress to toast Strude? I would say
live there was you're not googling?Hillary Duff was always up there, so

(48:07):
maybe she was never number one?And Jennifer of Hwett Lacey Shabert, who
was in contention for my number onefor a very long period of my life.
Huge lazy Shaber fan. How isthat Google going? What am I
looking up? Is Lacey Shabert theheiress to TOAs gonna look that up?
No? Uh, This one's likekind of jarring because Lacey Schabert's voice is

(48:31):
noticeably higher than me Lacunas's. Soif you ever catch a season one episode
of Family Guy, you're like,oh, this is not for me.
It's just you get so used toMela Cunas's voice, so I don't know,
this is too hard. I no, I just wanted like a Google
Yes where First of all, whatwere you doing looking up toast Strews at

(48:52):
some point in the last several days? And number two, how did you
connect Shabert to Toaster Strudel. Isaw it in one of those things.
Okay, there you go. Thisweek on I can go, I'm gonna
say she is. I'm in forthat. There you go. There's our
fun fact for the episode on Shameless, Mandy went from Jane Levy to Emma

(49:15):
Greenwell. Levy left the show tofilm Suburgatory. Yep, so she went
from like an objectively like really attractivegirl. She was like a girl next
door type of girl that they triedto make goth and then they actually got
a like a more goth looking girlfor the second Mandy. The second Mandy
was a much better fit for Mandy, even though the first girl that went

(49:37):
to Suburgatory might have been objectively moreattractive. This last one here is my
possibly favorite one, and that ison Arrested Development and was swapped out for
Alessanda. Alessandra, I can't fuckingsay the Torrisani to May Whitman and I
had no idea. I thought itwas the same bland person. I I

(50:00):
don't remember someone as an before MayWhitman. Was it one episode? Might
have been one or two. I'llgive that a goose, that's for sure.
Don't waste your goog's time on that. All right, fair enough,
let's get into Max Max that couldbe anything, that could be a boat.

(50:23):
