Speaker 1 (00:01):
It's Nightside with Dan Ray.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
I'm telling you Boston's Knees Radio.

Speaker 1 (00:07):
All right, thank you very much. I want to just
take one more moment to remind some of you that
you need to jump on the iHeartRadio app. Look, this
is another way for you to be a part of
our night Side broadcast by utilizing the talk back feature
on the iHeartRadio app. Make sure you download and have

(00:27):
the free iHeartRadio app. While you are listening to Nightside
Live on WBS News Radio, tap the red microphone talkback button.
It's a red microphone talk back button in the top
right corner. It's as simple as that. You got thirty
seconds to send us a personalized audio message. Keep it clean.
It can be critical, it can be constructive, it can

(00:49):
be complementary, but you got to keep it clean. Send
us a personal, personalized audio message and we'll play it
back on Nightside. It's that simple. Once again, hit that
red microphone button in the top right corner at the
app while listening to Nightside and send us your audio message.
You can identify yourself, well, you can choose not to
identify yourself. It's really easy, it's fun, and we will

(01:11):
play one for you. Do you have one there, Rob. Okay,
if you've cleared it, make sure there's nothing, no bad words.
Let's let it rip Rob.

Speaker 3 (01:23):
Matt from Brandon going cash lists unfortunately or fortunately is
the way things are moving. I've seen it in Florida
sports teams and for people to be able to not
want to see AI or automation takeover, it has to

(01:45):
be that way. More sales equal more time and not
giving change.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
All right, Okay, well I think we did discuss that.
But thanks for the backup on that, Matt. We appreciate that.
Feel free and again you can do exactly what did
and just wigh in nice quick and to the point
for those who are on the line and geo you again,
I didn't mean I don't like cutting people off when
the news comes down the pike. There's no choice, my friend.

(02:14):
I just got to get you in a little bit earlier. Okay,
it's as simple as that. I do have some callers
who love to kind of get the last word in,
but if it's not timed perfectly, you know, and we
do take the callers for the most part in the
sequence in which they which they arrived. So having said
all of that, it is now time for once again

(02:36):
the twentieth hour, and I like to quickly, quickly just
approach some of the things we talked about this week,
and I'm going to try to go through them real quickly,
because once again we do touch on a lot of
subjects in the twenty hours we have. We talked about
Massachusetts having problems with businesses, not a business friendly state.

(03:01):

will be the show that will be replayed on Sunday
night at eleven o'clock. Then we spent an hour with
Joe Schmidt and Tom Gordon, the two executives who were

(05:18):
fired unceremoniously by Market Basket on Tuesday. They had each
given a total of well, Joe had been with market
Basket for thirty nine years, Tom Gordon for forty nine years,
and I think that needs to get resolved. And we
talked about reaction in the Market Basket terminations. Last night,
we talked with Amory Lafouci, the editor of In Boston magazine,

a beautiful community, one of my favorites in Boston in
the Boston area, Medford, Massachusetts. We spent two hours last

(06:22):
night anticipating and talking with members of that concessions union
the strike at Fenway Park. Tonight. Talk with Tom Begley
about the sailing of Mayflower two. It's going to be
out in the water in early August. He's with the

(07:06):

the twenty threth week. Just think of all the topics
that you learn a little bit about here on Nightside.
Please tell your friends about Nightside. You can follow us
of course on Twitter at WBZ Nightside. Feel free to
jump on board and follow us. We post every day
what's coming up on the show. You can follow us
on a variety of Facebook pages Nightside, Nation, Dan on

(07:31):
the Danube. There was a trip we took a few
years ago down the Danube River in Europe with Nightside
listeners and WBZ Nightside with Dan Ray. Those are our
Facebook pages. Also on Instagram, it's a WBZ Underscore Nightside
to check us out on Instagram. So we have lots
of ways and to be in touch. And after the

(07:53):
show tonight at midnight, I will be on every night.
We don't share this, but I do sort of a
recap of the pro Now, what are we going to
do tonight? Okay, we always try to pick something that
is a little lighter, maybe even something that will make
you smile, will end the week on a positive note.
And here's what it is. It's a real simple question.

(08:14):
We are just about halfway through summer, maybe even a
little more than halfway through summer. I mentioned this and
alluded to this a couple of times. Most people consider
summer real summer Memorial Day to Labor Day. So what
do you have between Memorial Day and Labor Day? You
have the months of June, July, and August. Well, we're
moving pretty quickly. We only got a week left in July,

(08:34):
so we're kind of past the halfway mark. Here's my question,
your best day yet or is your best day yet
to come this summer. I think we all want to
hope and think that our best day is yet to come. Okay,
we always hope that I had a couple of really

(08:55):
good days already and if they were my best days.
With some friends in early July during my vacation week.
I always take a week around my birthday. And on
June ninth, we went to what's called a farm to
table dinner in Brewster down to the Cape. Ventured down
to the cape and it was really really neat. I

(09:18):
mean it's not inexpensive, but they feed you well and
it was a great night. So I think that's probably
going to be my highlight day of the summer. I
love every day of the summer, if the truth be known.
So what I want to do is ask you, since
I've given you my best day of the summer. I

(09:38):
don't have any other big plans for the summer, meaning
up until Labor Day, going to take a little vacation
in late August. But I don't have an event that
I'm looking forward to. Maybe something will come up, but
I'm more than happy. It was a day that my
kids gave that to us as a Christmas present, This

(10:00):
farm to what they call farm to table. Actually you
eat at the farm, so it's a pretty quick trip
from the farm where where the products are grown, to
the table. But it's really nice. And it was one
of those nights that was kind of on the edge
in terms of rain and it held off, so we
were happy about that. So I'd like to know from you,

(10:21):
have you had your best day of the summer yet?
It might be a visit with family, it might be
a visit from a friend, it might be a whale watch.
I want to know what was your highlight if you've
had your highlight so far and again always opened the
possibility for something else coming down the line. So your
best day of the summer and or what day you

(10:45):
looking forward to. I think that aka Marita, aka Lightning,
she's on vacation next week, and I know that she's
going to spend some time with her family, a family,
extended family up in Maine, and she's looking forward to that.
So that will probably encompass her best days of the summer.
And it can be an extended day. It doesn't have

(11:08):
to be one day, but a vacation trip or whatever.
And again, remember, even if you've called this week on
the twentieth hour, everyone on nightside gets a hall pass.
So if you haven't called, you're welcome to call. If
you've called, your welcome to call, you have a hall pass.
In the twentieth hour. Here are the numbers six, one, seven, two, five, four,

(11:29):
ten thirty six one seven, nine, three, one, ten thirty.
Your best day of the summer, what is it? If
it's gone by, let's celebrate it. If you're anticipating it
and you're expecting it, let's tell us about it. And
you're you obviously are going to be able to tell
us with great enthusiasm what's coming to you this summer.

(11:53):
One of the things that I want to do this summer,
and I haven't done it yet, is they have these
train rides on the Cape. Now they have sunset cruises.
Those are what to me makes now you may have
a big trip May the big trip. I last summer
we had a big trip to Italy. We did ten

(12:16):
nine days in Italy, Rome, Malfy Coast, Pompeii, the Ruins
of Pompeii. I was looking forward to that. That's what
I would have talked about. Love to get here from
you join the conversation. The only line open right now
is the six, one seven. Coming right back on Nightside,
and that's filling up.

Speaker 2 (12:36):
You're on night Side with Dan Ray on w B
Boston's news radio.

Speaker 1 (12:41):
We're gonna go right to the phones. Alex and Millis
Alex next on night first on night Side this hour.
What's your best day so far or yet to come
this summer?

Speaker 4 (12:50):
Alex, I think they're all good days, because you know,
what's the alternative? But a kiddingly, our last time last
summer was my was a really beautiful, uh you know memory.
We had gone to Greece.

Speaker 1 (13:05):
Well, looking for this summer, Alex, I'm looking for this summer.
What do you got this summer?

Speaker 4 (13:09):
Yeah, Okay, this summer we're going We're gonna be going
to uh Jamaica in the middle of August, and you know,
I've never been there, and so it's a it's a
little exciting and uh and like I say, we always
like to go someplace different, and I think, uh, you know,

(13:31):
variety is.

Speaker 1 (13:32):
Where are you're staying in Jamaica? Where you do you
have any idea where you're staying?

Speaker 4 (13:36):
I have no idea. I think, uh my wife booked everything.
So I'm gonna. I'm gonna. I don't know what. What
have you been there?

Speaker 1 (13:45):
I don't know?

Speaker 4 (13:47):
Ye, okay, I think it's in Montego Bay or yeah, that's.

Speaker 1 (13:51):
Part of Jamaica. Yeah, No, it's great. It's a it's
a great community down there, friendly people, recommended, recommended, highly.
I think you'll have a ball.

Speaker 4 (14:01):
Yeah. If it's equivalent to a rubo or grease, I'm
all for it.

Speaker 1 (14:05):
Yeah. Well, Ruby is a little different, Greece is a
little different, but it's uh, it's pretty easy to get
to and have a safe trip. When are you down there?

Speaker 4 (14:15):
Uh, the twelfth of August. I think we should fly
out the twelfth of August.

Speaker 1 (14:21):
Good for you. That's a be a little warm. Bring
you sunscreen?

Speaker 4 (14:24):
Okay, absolutely, yes.

Speaker 1 (14:26):
Thanks thanks Alex, talk soon, Okay, I have a good one.
Thank you to let me keep rolling here. I got
Ian in San Antonio, Texas. I welcome back. I couldn't
get to you last hour, but I'm happy you called in.
What are you looking for down here? I know it's
been a tough summer down there. You're pretty close to
the hill country where that horrific.

Speaker 5 (14:46):
Oh yes, yes, yeah, but we're not that. That was
tough though, and I've been here all summer waiting to
come up there on October for a cruise up the
New England coast line for a fall foliage.

Speaker 1 (15:04):
Oh really, where are you going to Boston?

Speaker 6 (15:07):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (15:07):
Well, start in New York. My husband and I and
my sister's coming out from California, and we're going to
Newport and then Boston and families coming there to meet
us and have lunch. Probably go to the North End
and then up to Port in Halifax and back to

(15:30):
New York.

Speaker 1 (15:31):
Have you been to Boston before?

Speaker 5 (15:34):
Have I been to Boston? I grew up in Boston.

Speaker 1 (15:37):
Oh okay, I have forgotten that. Whereabouts?

Speaker 5 (15:41):
Well start in Watertown and then we moved out to
the Framingham, Natick area when I was in sixty five,
nineteen sixty five.

Speaker 1 (15:49):
Yeah, okay, So how long did you live in when?
When did you leave the Boston area?

Speaker 5 (15:57):
Nineteen eighty seven.

Speaker 1 (16:00):
Eighty seven, and that brought you down to San Antonio.

Speaker 5 (16:03):
No, it's been all over the world.

Speaker 1 (16:06):
Really, I don't try. But were you involved in the
military in some fashion?

Speaker 5 (16:13):
My husband it was for my husband's work.

Speaker 6 (16:15):
Yees.

Speaker 1 (16:15):
Oh wow, okay? Is he is he a Massachusetts native
as well?

Speaker 5 (16:20):
No, well half as Jimmy, as his mother's side is
from Cambridge.

Speaker 1 (16:24):
But well, you know, you and I used to be
neighbors because if you were living in Framing Him up
until nineteen eighty seven, we moved to Sherborne in nineteen
eighty six, which is next order Natick, next order Natic
and also next door to Framing Him.

Speaker 5 (16:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (16:43):
Yeah, it's a small world.

Speaker 7 (16:45):
This is a small world.

Speaker 5 (16:47):
Well that is that we're really looking forward to that.
It's a great way to see the foliot.

Speaker 1 (16:52):
Oh wow, boy, that's so you'll be up what what
month did you say?

Speaker 5 (16:57):
October fourth?

Speaker 1 (16:58):
We came up. Yeah, now that is that's perfect. You'll
have foliage all up and down the coast. Yeah, that
is great. I I I wish that you were going
to spend time in Boston and I could see you
and meet you in person because you're such a loyal
listener in San Antonio. I really do appreciate you your loyalty.

Speaker 5 (17:16):
Okay, thank you, Dan, have a good evening you.

Speaker 1 (17:20):
Too, Thanks very much. This time coming comes in, it's
coming home. What's wrong with that? Let me go to Matt. Matt,
you're next to nightside, Matt, go right ahead. Thank you
very much for giving us that message last hour. That's
one of the first messages we've received with the new
iHeart app. Pretty simple to work, I guess, right.

Speaker 8 (17:40):
Yeah, yeah, pretty simple. I guess somebody beat me through
it and the comments and the dialogue, but absolutely easy
to work, and I'm glad you were able to play it.

Speaker 1 (17:51):
So So, so what's your what's your your top event,
either that this summer from you know, from Memorial Day
to today or.

Speaker 8 (17:59):
Or coming up you know, hey, every day, you know,
cliche or not? My best moment is you know, I
think I mentioned a number of weeks back, you know,
there was a little bit of health problems with in
my immediate family and that ended up actually working out
very well. So first and foremost that time wise, it's

(18:20):
a blessing from God. And you know, every day is
a new day cliche or not, and that being the
best moment, just good news overall. And you know, for
what I've to look forward to, you know, going out
to the cape, going out with my buddies, you know,
taking out where watching marine bio is one of my degrees,

(18:42):
you know, from college back in the day and being
able to do that, you know, and share that experience.
On a fun note for me, it would be that.
But on a real note, for the summer, it's just
good health.

Speaker 1 (18:57):
Oh yeah, it's absolutely I'll tell you that. The summer
is the Yeah. Look, I love every season, I really do.
Winter can get a little long around here, as you
will know. But I love the fall when when the
air changes and when the leaves turn and in San
Antonio is going to see the foliage and she saw
it for many years, but now she's going to come

(19:18):
back and see it from from ships and uh and
and along the coast of New England and up into Canada.
But yeah, it is still the summer is the best
time of year. What I hate about the summer is
when the days start to get short. That's you know, that's.

Speaker 8 (19:34):
Ah when that time was back, I know, I know, Yeah, well.

Speaker 1 (19:37):
It doesn't go back now until November. But all of
a sudden when labor Day comes and you realize that
every day you lose in a couple of minutes.

Speaker 6 (19:45):
Uh.

Speaker 8 (19:46):
That's that when you take it day by day, every day,
that's when you never know the next day could be
the best day. And for hours. I think it was
in Montego Bay. If he's going to stay or not,
if he goes to the Hilton, be well taken care
of and go to New Jurkey hut On Hilton. All
on there a nice place.

Speaker 1 (20:08):
Sounds great, sounds great? All right, Matt, I appreciate the call.
Is always thanks man Purty soon, good night. All right,
we're looking for some different things here. Now, come on,
light these lines up. We always try to end it
on the end of the week as a positive. So
what we're looking for is if you've had a great
day this summer or a great activity event, however you

(20:28):
want to characterize it, and if you think that is
going to be the highlight of your summer. I mentioned
what I think would be the highlight of my summer.
It's a great outdoor dinner, farm to table dinner here
in the town of Brewster, Massachusetts on the cape. Look,
some of you might have the best is yet to come,

(20:49):
and something is upcoming and will be will be available.
Let us know simple as that. Alex talks about a
trip to Jamaica in about her trip up here to
New England and then on a boat up to off
the coast of New England and up to Maine, which
is going to be beautiful, and then up into Canada.

(21:11):
And and you just heard from Matt, So I want
to hear from you now. I got open lines here, Okay,
come on six one, seven, two, five, four, ten thirty
six one seven, nine, three, one, ten thirty. This is
an easy one. We try to make it easy. Join
the conversation. We'll be right back on night Side.

Speaker 2 (21:30):
You're on night Side with Dan Ray on w BZ,
Boston's news radio.

Speaker 1 (21:36):
Thang yourel let's keep rolling. You're going to go next
to Lola, Lola. Welcome back, Lola. How are you? What's
your what's your best day so far?

Speaker 6 (21:43):
Bik Dan So, I hit the ground running when I
got off the plane on the twentieth of June, and
I was only I planned on being here three weeks,
well three weeks.

Speaker 9 (21:55):
It's turned into it'll be almost two and a half months.
So I decided to change my attitude and make the
best of it.

Speaker 6 (22:06):
So I got off the plane at five point thirty
on the twentieth of June and I ran to the
Greek Festival in Watertown. That Tuesday, I went to Saratoga
for a four day retreat.

Speaker 1 (22:23):
A four day A four day retreat, you mean you
were you were betting on the ponies.

Speaker 6 (22:28):
No, the track wasn't open. I actually went to a retreat.

Speaker 1 (22:34):
Really, what type of rete, like a religious retreat.

Speaker 6 (22:37):
No, it was on childhood trauma release program.

Speaker 1 (22:41):
Okay, good, Okay, that's just as good. Yeah, okay, yeah.

Speaker 6 (22:45):
So then I came back and I went to this
place in Bedford it's called Mango Bay Equestrian and I
did a four hour healing workshop with horses. It's called
equiney and it's the latest and greatest thing. It's quite new,

(23:06):
but I've been doing it also in San Diego.

Speaker 1 (23:09):
Great.

Speaker 6 (23:10):
So when I got here, I looked for equine therapy
and I was like, oh my god, four hours with
the horses. I'm telling you this and your listeners, because
you don't ride the horse, you just go and you
go to a workshop and you be with the horses,
you don't ride them.

Speaker 1 (23:31):
So do you sit next to the horse, do you
talk to the horse?

Speaker 6 (23:36):
Well, we did a little we did a little workshop.
Who wants to try to lead the horse? You know,
if you don't know anything about horses, and I don't
you think it's like walking a dog. You get the
leash and you go the horse. Doesn't work that way.

Speaker 1 (23:52):
Yeah, and you found it to be therapeutic.

Speaker 10 (23:57):
Oh.

Speaker 6 (23:57):
Absolutely, they're even offering it to veteran Yeah, a lot of.

Speaker 1 (24:07):
I'm so glad you mentioned that because there's a lot
of people out there. Where was this one? This this.

Speaker 6 (24:14):
It's called it's called Mango Bay Equestrian. It's in Bedford
on David Road. They have a website. Let me see
if I can give you the website real quick, and.

Speaker 1 (24:28):
If you can't, people will get it.

Speaker 6 (24:29):
Mango Bay, Mango Bay Equestrian. I believe it's dot com.
It's I don't have it right in front of me.

Speaker 1 (24:41):
That's no problem, and again I can I can understand that.
But yeah, no, Look, I'm very happy, uh that that
that you found this and I'm very happy that you
you mentioned it to my audience. I mean that's serious.

Speaker 6 (24:56):
Oh yes, I'm telling you it's it's it's it's something
you have to experience, and everybody's different, and each time
you go it's different, even if it's the same hawk.

Speaker 1 (25:07):
Yeah. By the way, you're right, it's it's real. Quickly
it's Mango Bay Equestrian dot Com and it is in Bedford, Massachusetts,
so that is easy. I'm looking at it right now.
I was able to pull it up. Lola.

Speaker 6 (25:18):
I got a running a pack, so they know me.
So if anybody goes, just say Lola told me about this.
I don't get anything for it.

Speaker 1 (25:28):
Well you did tell people about it here in the radio, Lola,
I got a screwed because I got packed lines that
I could keep rolling.

Speaker 6 (25:34):
Okay, thank you so much, Thank you again, thank you, happy, Thanks.

Speaker 1 (25:38):
Lola, appreciate it very much. Let's go to Doug up
in the great state of New Hampshire. I was up
in Newmpshire a couple of weeks ago. As a matter
of fact, Doug, how are you?

Speaker 11 (25:46):
I'm fine, Dan, how are you good?

Speaker 1 (25:48):
Up at the Mount Washington Hotel for a weekend two
weeks ago. It's beautiful up there.

Speaker 11 (25:53):
That's a beautiful spot. So I at dinner party a
few weeks ago and I said, you know, I want
to go skydiving. That woman said, I want to get
to skydiving. So I'm going skydiving in a couple of weeks.

Speaker 1 (26:07):
Where are you doing that? As in Orange, Massachusetts probably?

Speaker 11 (26:10):
Or no, No, Lebanon, Maine, which is right in the
main Hampshire border.

Speaker 1 (26:16):
Wow, have you ever skydived before?

Speaker 6 (26:20):
Ever?

Speaker 1 (26:21):
Let me tell you are a brave individual. Now will
you do this? Well, this is a crazy question. Will
you do this alone? Or will you do it in
tandem with someone?

Speaker 6 (26:31):
No?

Speaker 11 (26:31):
No, you do it in Tannam with an instructor.

Speaker 1 (26:35):
Excellent, excellent.

Speaker 11 (26:37):
And I'm about your age, so I thought it's time
to start checking off some of these things.

Speaker 1 (26:42):
Yeah, I mean obviously you must be in like your
late forties, like.

Speaker 11 (26:46):
I am right, exactly, very late.

Speaker 1 (26:52):
Well, give me a favor some night. But when we're
doing something this, I want a full report. How high
will you be when you leave the plane? Do you
have any idea?

Speaker 11 (27:02):
I don't know, but I think the free fall is
about sixty seconds, so someone can do the arithmetic.

Speaker 1 (27:10):
Wow, you're free falling for sixty seconds. I'm told that
you hear the wind as you're as you're and boy,
I'll tell you, when that parachute opens your that's gonna
be a great feeling. How expensive? How expense?

Speaker 11 (27:26):
Not I'm giving my friends who are gonna come watch
me the golden spatula then can clean me out.

Speaker 1 (27:33):
How how expensive is this? One day? Is one jump?

Speaker 11 (27:37):
Right, it's one jumping. It's about two hundred and fifty dollars.

Speaker 1 (27:41):
Hey, you know something that to be able to say that,
that's and hopefully they get some pictures of you coming down. Man,
I'll tell you I almost would I almost am envious
of you.

Speaker 11 (27:53):
Not quite well, I'll.

Speaker 1 (27:58):
Oh, I'd love to hear the report. Dog. I mean that, seriously,
send me an email, remind me it was you, and
I'll set it up. We'll do it. We'll do it somenight,
maybe in the eight o'clock hour. We can talk about
it for seven or eight minutes. How would that be?

Speaker 11 (28:11):
Sounds great? I'll be in touch.

Speaker 1 (28:13):
Thanks, Thanks, Doug, Be safe, be well. All right, that's
a great one. Skydiving. Where we're gonna go next? Okay,
let me get Matthew in Pembroke. Matthew in Pembroke, you're
next on night.

Speaker 4 (28:25):
Go ahead, Matt, how are you Dan?

Speaker 7 (28:28):
Thanks for taking my call. You're welcome to day above
Every day above ground is my best day here.

Speaker 1 (28:36):
You're in that one.

Speaker 7 (28:39):
I'm only fifty three and I'm starting I feel it,
you know, But anyhow, my buddy.

Speaker 1 (28:43):
Come just wait, hey, wait, just wait. Do you become
fifty four, then you're really gonna feel it.

Speaker 11 (28:49):
Right.

Speaker 7 (28:50):
So my buddy brought his boat over. He's got a
twenty foot center console. We couldn't get my boat in
this year, so we worked on his. I did some
wirre into it last weekend and he left it there.
I said, why did you leave it at my house?
He says, because you'll get more use out of it
than me, and if you wear it out.

Speaker 11 (29:07):
I'd be happy.

Speaker 8 (29:08):
So I'm going out to Plymouth and we're.

Speaker 4 (29:11):
Gonna do I don't even know what the tides are.

Speaker 11 (29:13):
We're going to go fishing.

Speaker 7 (29:14):
If it's low tide when it go to Brown's Bank,
And Brown's Bank is like the spit. It's a beach
at low tide, and then at high tide it's water
like eight feet and I'm going to use it. I've
worked over time for weeks and weeks and weeks just
to get by. And now because I get the boat

(29:34):
every weekend, I'm switching over and I'm going to be
going out in the boat.

Speaker 8 (29:37):
That's going to be my best summer.

Speaker 1 (29:39):
I bet you that that is not only just one event.
But boy, that's that's really good. I am not a
boat guy. I wouldn't know how to fix anything on
a boat. Well, will you be going out with other people?
If that doesn't sound like a much boat?

Speaker 11 (29:55):
No?

Speaker 7 (29:55):
No, So if we're going to just go slow out
of the habit to Brown's Bank, it's a beach low tide,
and I can bring four or five people. I'm gonna
double check see how many life jackets he has. But
if we go fishing, three or four is more than
enough to because it's such a small boat. But you
can have so much fun.

Speaker 1 (30:16):
Oh my god. Yeah, just make sure there's a room
for some some liquid libations, because I'm told that you
have to hydrate. You might not be able to do
high level hydration, but your friends may be able to
do high level hydration as long as well. You're the

(30:36):
designated sailor.

Speaker 11 (30:39):
To get my drift exactly.

Speaker 7 (30:40):
Yeah, I do, I do and if you haven't want
to go stripe by fishing, you give me a call.

Speaker 1 (30:46):
Matt that that's something I might not be able to.
Thanks very much, Matt is a great call. Thank you
so much. Have have fun, you deserve it. Thanks Tank
you soon all right. We got a couple of open lines,
which is always discouraging. I got Cheryl, and I got
Bill coming up, and I got some room for you.

(31:08):
I need a couple more stories to finish off the week. Specifically,
I want to know what do you have planned or
what did you have this summer which was the highlight
of your summer? Maybe the highlight of your summer is over.
I think that particular one event that I looked forward
to for most of the winter kind of got me

(31:29):
through the winter. I mentioned I did a farm with
my family, a farm to table a dinner, so very
happy about that. It was lovely, lovely. It's special. You're
outdoors and they serve food, and they served drinks wine
pretty much beer if you wanted, and it was a

(31:50):
great night. That was mine. I'm kind of got in easy.
August here, a year ago, we were heading to Italy
to roam the Moufee coast and the City. The Ruins
were POMPEII. That was my highlight last summer. But I'd
love to hear yours. If you've had a highlight, let
me know. If you're still waiting and you're anticipating a highlight,

(32:13):
let me know six one, seven, two, five, four ten thirty.
One line there and one line at six one seven,
nine three one ten thirty. You think it's easy coming
up with creative ideas to send people off into the
weekend with a happy thought. Now, last week we did
Brushes with Celebrity, which is one of my favorites. But
I can only do that every two or three months.

(32:34):
So you got it. Give me a call. Coming back
on night.

Speaker 7 (32:37):
Side Night Side with Dan Ray on DEBS, Boston's news radio.

Speaker 1 (32:45):
Let's roll. We got full lines. I'm going to get
everybody in trust me. Hold buckle up, everybody, Cheryl and Arlington.
Cheryl next on Nightside, go right ahead, lead the way
I can't. I'm great. What's your best your best day
so far? Are your best day to come?

Speaker 12 (33:02):
I have some days to come. Actually, last week I
called about the Brush with Celebrity and meeting Kevin Malar
in January at the Yeah, so he does these cruises
out of Boston, dinner cruises with some of the Red
Sox players, and I am on the one for August

(33:22):
seventeenth with Bronson Arroyo, Trot Nixon, Kevin Milla And it's
just I'm so excited about this now.

Speaker 1 (33:31):
Is that just not just? Is that's a great one?
Is that a one night cruise?

Speaker 12 (33:37):
It's yes, it's just a one night Yeah.

Speaker 1 (33:39):
Okay, let me ask you real quick. Some people might
be interested in that. Is that an expensive proposition?

Speaker 12 (33:47):
It's really not that expensive. I took the I mean,
you could get just a deck pass for eighty dollars,
but I took the VIP because I said, you know,
if I'm going to do it, I'm going to do
it right. It's we're going to celebrate my girlfriend's seventieth birthday.
It's coming in October. But I said, this is your birthday. Yeah,

(34:08):
and uh yeah, it's really I'm really excited. It's a
nice dinner. And it was like about three something.

Speaker 1 (34:16):
That's okay, So how many how many people will be
participating in the dinner. I mean, you get a chance
to I hopefully get a picture with some of the
guys and maybe a ward or two.

Speaker 12 (34:27):
The v I P gives you a half hour early boarding,
and it gives you a meet and greet and an
autograph picture. So I think it's I mean, for me,
I'm huge.

Speaker 10 (34:41):
It looks good for you, Cheryl.

Speaker 1 (34:43):
I am delighted to know you. You're a You're a
woman after my own heart. I'm envious. That would be great.
Just some of those guys are good guys, Nixon, h
and Mallary great and a royal, very smart guy. Hopefully
will bring his guitar and play play a little.

Speaker 8 (35:00):
Oh that would be awesome.

Speaker 12 (35:01):
Well, I know they're going to show highlights from the
two thousand and four World Series. Oh yeah, And I
don't know what else is going on, but it just
sounds exciting. And then they have another one on September fourteenth.
We were booked on that one, but I changed it
to August because I figured the weather would be nicer.
So I'm hoping for you.

Speaker 1 (35:22):
You're gonna have a great night, Cheryl. Thanks so much,
and thanks for being a fan of Nightside as well.
I really I really want to hope you.

Speaker 12 (35:29):
Well, I have I have one more really quick one.
I'm going to Ireland November fifth for my granddaughter's first birthday.
So really excited about Cheryl.

Speaker 1 (35:39):
You got you got it, you got it happening. That's good,
Thanks Cheryl. I got to run because I got to
get a couple more.

Speaker 4 (35:45):

Speaker 1 (35:48):

full report. They've got a Bill, Bill Winnaker. Everybody knows
Bill Winnaker. Bill. What's your big night, big day so
far or coming up?

Speaker 10 (35:58):
Okay, Well, it was actually a big week. We took
a week off and to celebrate Bo's birthday in Maine. Yeah. Yeah,
Bow's birthday is the third of July, so we went
up on the second and on the third of July
we had a great celebration for Bo. Bo loves lobster.
He ate three lobsters and about six ears of sweet corn.

(36:19):
He's never gonna need a wake in one eighty. I'll
tell you that.

Speaker 1 (36:23):
Oh he's thin as a rail. He he asked that
invest metabolism. Anybody I know absolutely.

Speaker 10 (36:29):
Grelous of it. So his birthday was the third. That
was a great night, and the fourth was a great
night because we were on night side on the fourth.

Speaker 1 (36:38):
That's right, Yes, yes, I heard you were you were
hosted with Morgan.

kitty Katty and her name is sweetee Pie and she's
my best friend.

Speaker 1 (37:53):
Well, how long have you had the kitty cat?

Speaker 13 (37:57):
Maybe four months? But she's still my best friend. She's
she's all black and she was about eight months Oldier's
got that little click in her tail. Don't know why
or how, but that's okay, my best friend.
