(00:01):
It's Night Side with Dan Ray onWBS Boston Radio. Well, I think
it's difficult to talk about any othersubject tonight than last night's presidential debate.
And it really was the first presidentialdebate in history where we had two men
to a current president and a formerpresident. It was an astonishing debate as

(00:26):
far as I'm concerned, I watchedit. I thought that Donald Trump accomplished
all that he needed to accomplish, which essentially was to control himself, discipline
himself. Joe Biden. There weremoments of time during debate when a lot
of friends of mine have said, just felt sorry, just felt sorry for

(00:49):
Joe Biden. Now today, hewas at a fundraiser in North Carolina this
afternoon and it looked like a differentperson. It was stunning. If it
was stunning to watch Joe Biden's stumbleand fall and reach for words last night,
it was stunning to see a differentJoe Biden today. Now, the

(01:11):
Biden campaign has said they will participatein other debates between now an election day
of November fifth. They're saying thatJoe Biden will not withdraw. Last night,
after the debate, these were somecomments made by Democrats last night.
This was first of all, toddlaHarris, the Vice President of the United

(01:34):
States, being interviewed by Anderson Cooperon CNN. Now. CNN had hosted
the debate, and many people felt, Okay, this was going to be
a tough night for Donald Trump becausehe was going to be questioned by Jake
Tapper and Dana Bash, who Ithink most people felt would be fa favorably
inclined toward toward President Biden. Theydid a terrific job. I thought they

(01:59):
were down the middle. They askedtough questions, pointed questions at both Many
of their questions were ducked, butthey were not aggressive. They were not
They gave the candidates and both Trumpand Biden a chance to very politely saying,
you still have forty five seconds toanswer the question that you did not
that you did not answer. Theydid it politely. So after the debate,

(02:22):
here is the Vice President of theUnited States on Live with Anderson Cooper
on CNN. Now, again, this is the media outlet that has just
presented the debate in the very verypoor performance by President by President Biden.
So let's let's go to cut thirtythree A to start it off. Rob

(02:45):
thirty three, who saw the othernight, the other night on the debate
every day, the person that yousaw on the debate stage that has for
the last three and a half yearsup until to performed in a way that
has been about, whether it bein the Oval Office negotiating bipartisan deals so

(03:07):
that we have an infrastructure, areal infrastructure plan where we're putting trillions of
dollars on the streets of America toupgrade our infrastructure. Whether it be the
person I see in the Oval Officewho is meeting with heads of the military
and the intelligence community and in thesituation room ensuring the safety of America.

(03:27):
The person I see in Joe Bidenon the world stage convening world leaders who
often ask for his advice, mostrecently just during the G seven conference.
So I'm not going to spend allnight with you talking about the last ninety
minutes when I've been watching the lastthree and a half years of performance.
A little defensive, I would say, I think Shakespeare, ID quote Shakespeare,

(03:52):
but I'd probably get in a littletrouble on that one. Meanwhile,
this John King, John King,Dorchester's own John King n Analysts loves the
numbers. This is him right afterthe debate. Cut thirty four up.
This was a game changing debate inthe sense that right now as we speak,
there is a deep, a wide, and a very aggressive panic in

(04:13):
the Democratic Party. It started minutesinto the debate and it continues right now.
It involves party strategists, it involveselected officials, it involves fundraisers,
and they're having conversations about the president'sperformance, which they think was dismal,
which they think will hurt other peopledown the party in the ticket, and
they're having conversations about what they shoulddo about it. Some of those conversations
include, should we go to theWhite House and ask the president's step aside

(04:38):
or other of the conversations are aboutshould prominent Democrats go public with that call
because they feel this debate was soterrible. They do say in moments in
the debate. Later the President gotbetter and got his footing, but then
at the end, even his closingstatement was a little halting. I don't
think the closing statement filled two minutes. Van Jones, who who has been

(05:00):
a Democrat stalwart on CNN, couldn'thave been more blund Cut thirty six Rob
that was painful. I love JoeBiden. I worked for Joe Biden.
He didn't do well at all.He did not do well at all,
and he looked, yeah, I'llgive you the analysis. You know,

(05:21):
you kind of have the old manversus the con man. I can walk
you through how I'm supposed to seeit and say it, but I just
want to speak from my heart.I love that guy as a good man.
He loves his country. He's doingthe best that he can. But
he had a test to meet tonightto restore confidence of the country and of

(05:43):
the base, and he failed todo that. And I think there's a
lot of people who are going towant to see him consider taking a different
course. Now we're still far fromour convention, and there is time for
this party to figure out a differentway for it, if he will allow
us to do that. But thatwas not what we needed from Joe Biden.
And it's personally painful for a lotof people. It's not just panic,

(06:06):
it's pain of what we s allto night. Those are the CNN
people. Okay, now here's theDemocratic pumas. US Senator Claire McCaskill of
Missouri. She was on MSNBC.She was pretty one too cut forty rob.
This could be a situation where everyonetalks it out over the next few

(06:28):
days. I do think that thisis a time that Ted Kaufman and Raschetti
and Donlin and Ron Klaine are goingto have to have a heart to heart
with the President about his ability toexude strength and listen, nobody is a
bigger fan of Kamala Harris than Iam, and you know, and guy

(06:51):
them Newso did a remarkable job tonightas a surrogate and what he said.
You know, somef I disagree anythingthey're saying, but those two people are
signaling to a whole lot of Americansthat are paying attention. How Come they're
not running? How Come the DemocraticParty doesn't have them at the top of

(07:13):
the ticket instead of using them toshore up what have become after tonight some
pretty glaring weaknesses in our president.Well, I think the answer to that,
Madam Senator, is pretty simple. The Democratic Party said, Joe Biden
didn't do debates with the one congressmanran against him, Dean Phillips of Minnesota,

(07:34):
did not deign to engage in adebate or conversation with Maryann Williamson,
who had been a presidential candidate inat least the last two cycles. The
Democratic Party thought they were safe withJoe Biden. I don't think they are.
Chris Cuomo suggested this about r FK. I mean, this is pretty

(07:59):
desperate. Cut forty three. TheDemocrats are looking for somebody. I mean,
I don't know why it wouldn't beworth the energy for you to make
yourself an option. Who do youhave that phone conversation with? Chris?
You know who that guy is.I could give you a couple of people
that I think I would have aconversation with that I'll call you. I'm
just saying, Bob, look yourknown quantity. Everybody knows that you have

(08:20):
your own mind. But people knowyour family, they know what your background
is. Nobody's got better democratic bonafides than you do. And they just
pushed you out because of how toxicthe party system has become. But now
the guy they pushed you out foris in free fall. So you know,
I just I'm just throwing it outthere because it would really save,

(08:41):
really solve their problems in yours. At the same time, yeah, I
cannot predict what they're gonna do.I mean, I'm gonna Would you be
open if they reached out to you, Bobby, would you be talking?
Of course I would talk to them. It would put me on the ballot
with nobody trying to get me off. I'm gonna be on the ballot at
this point and re stained by midJuly. Okay, so that's Chris Cuomo

(09:03):
interviewing obviously Robert Kennedy very distinct voice. Now, first of all, Robert
Kennedy's family doesn't support him for themost part, for the most part,
never mind the Democratic Party. JoeBiden has refused Robert F. Kennedy Junior
a secret service protection. I mean, you know, you talk about a

(09:26):
party that's in disarray right now, maybe not in Massachusetts, but around the
country. However, Joe Biden stillhas his stalwarts supporters. Let's be clear
about that. That At a postdebate rally last night, Joe Biden didn't
speak, but his wife did. Here's Joe Biden. Oh, let me,

(09:46):
let me. I did a doctorJoe Biden. She's not a physician.
Okay, she's not a physician, but she is doctor Jill Biden.
Very important that that always be attachedso that some people might be confused and
think that she is an actual doctor. I have a juris doctor. Don't
call me doctor Ray because doctors,as far as I'm concerned, should be

(10:07):
reserved for people in the medical field, dentists, things like that, people
who have a PhD. Yeah,if you're in an academic setting and you
want to call yourself doctor, fine, think you should really call yourself professor.
But that's okay. So well, however you want doctor Joe Biden,
professor Joe Biden. She is squarelybehind Joe Biden. Here cut forty five.

(10:30):
Joe, you did such a greatjob. You answered every question you
knew. Order. Let me askthe crowd, what did Trump do?
Yes, that's inspiring. That tome is inspiring. Let me tell you

(10:52):
that's worse than the performance of JoeBiden on the stage last night. Now
today in North Carolina. Different JoeBiden spoke. Maybe he got a good
night's sleep. I don't know.Maybe he had his orange juice this morning.
Got forty six, a rob fortysix, his thirty four filming convictions,
his sexual assaul and a woman ina public place has been fine four

(11:16):
one hundred million dollars for business fraud. I thought to myself Donald Trump in
just a convicted phone. Donald Trumpis a one man crime wave. He's
got more trials. He's got moretrials coming up. Well, God time

(11:39):
for that. There was a candidatea few years ago who tolerated phrases like
that. At his campaign rally, was a walk her up phrase, and
he was criticized roundly for not sayingto the crowd, wait a second,
that's how it bounds. Joe Bidenseemed to enjoy that last night. Didn't

(12:01):
enjoy the debate, though. Okay, whatever you want to talk about,
if you see it differently, giveme a call. I'm I'm as confused
about this as aim up with theKaren Reid trial. To be really honest
with you, these are two interestingstories. I was Joe Biden. I
would have got up this morn andsaid, folks, I've had a great
run. Sorry to end it ona down note, but guess what.

(12:24):
I think it's time to step awayfrom the game. Joe Biden is Willie
Mays playing for the Mets right now. Okay, a shell of what he
might have been several years ago.The only line that is open is six
one, seven nine. Back toall phone calls. From now until eleven,

(12:46):
and then at eleven we will doour monthly presidential poll. And I
suspect OURFK may have some support tonight, maybe Joe Biden will as well,
but we will let you know. We're coming back on Night Side after this.
Now back to Dan Ray live fromthe Window World night Sight Studios.
I'm dumbing BSY News Radio. Okay, We're going to go to phone calls.

(13:09):
And again last night after the debate, we had a really wide variety
of reaction. There were some peoplewho thought the president need to stick.
Let's see what you have to say. Let's just get right to the phone
calls and we'll take them in order, and I'm going to try to move
them a little bit more quickly sowe get to as many as possible tonight,
fair enough, and then we willdo our poll from eleven o'clock to

(13:30):
midnight. And again that is thetwentieth hour, which means that if you
have already called during the week, you can call back whatever night you called
in the eleven o'clock hour. Seanand Marshfield. Sean first up this hour
on Night Side. But your reactionto last night, well, initially my
reaction as a Trump supporter was youknow, surprisingly, I thought Joe Biden

(13:52):
did a much better job than Iexpected. There's a lot of speculation about
it. You must have had apretty low bar sean. Yeah, he
granted with all the speculation about hiscognitive abilities, Yeah, there was a
pretty low bar set for him.But nonetheless I did think he did make
some great points. Okay, butin the end, Trump was a clear

(14:16):
winner. However, with that,I'd say Trump missed a few points.
For example, you know, whenJanuary sixth was brought up and Joe Biden
said that Trump did nothing to stopit, Trump didn't have much of a
response for it other than it wasNancy Pelosi's fault. Correct, And in

(14:37):
reality, he could have brought upall the tweets and everything that he sent
out and that Twitter took down tellingeverybody to go home. He didn't bring
up that tweet telling everybody to gohome once, which I am unfamiliar with.
That did that tweet tell me aboutit? So he sent out a

(15:00):
tweet as soon as the protesters quoteunquote storm the Capitol building, which we've
all seen thee at that point,at that point, at that point,
he leaves the stage he gets inthe Secret Service vehicle and heads back.
Now, there was some allegations thathe wanted to go up there, but

(15:22):
he's now back in the White House. When did he send the tweet out?
I've never heard that story go rightahead, So I'm not sure exactly
when he sent the tweet out.I know it was very shortly after the
protesters did breach the building, okay, but the fact that he didn't bring
that tweet up once was just shockingto me. He told everybody to go

(15:45):
home. He asked everybody who wascoming that day before the building was even
breached, to remain peaceful. Andno, no, we know that we
heard that speech that I had neverheard the story. Like Sean, I
gotta be honest with you, Ihave never heard the story that he sent
out tweets. What has been saidis that he sat in the dining area

(16:06):
off the Oval office and watched televisionfor a couple of hours before he emerged
from the White House sometime around fouro'clock and issued a video statement. But
I had never heard the story aboutthe tweet. And if someone wants to
send me some material on that,I'd love to read it, and i'd
love to try. Maybe maybe there'sa reason he didn't refer to it to
Sean. Yeah, that's also anotherpossibility. But I was just shocked because

(16:33):
I know there was an interview thathe did with CNN, I don't know,
maybe six eight months ago, whereone of the reporters that literally accused
him of not doing anything to stopit, and he brought with him the
tweets that got taken down by Twitterwith the timestamps that Okay, if you

(16:56):
have those and you could send themto me by any chance, or if
you could just send me a CNNstory on it or whatever, I'd appreciate
it. I'm not trying to giveyou a hard time. I just had
never heard that story. Sean.I appreciate you taking the time to call.
I assumed that your decision to votefor Donald Trump was only intensified last
night. Yeah, it was prettymuch solidified last night, especially because Joe

(17:22):
Biden had no response to the mainissue with the reporters, which is the
economy. Yeah, they both ofthem duck some questions. Now, yeah,
both of them duck questions, andboth of them did, and the
reporters of the moderators didn't chase themdidn't push them, They gave them opportunities.

(17:42):
Again, I thought the moderators reallystayed out of the fray, which
I think was to their credit.Sean, I appreciate you call. Thank
you so much. We'll talk soon. There it goes. Let me go
to Tom and West Virginia. Tom, you are next on night side.
Let me get my match a curseto pull you up here? Else SECA
right ahead, Tom. Okay.So as far as January sixth, Twitter

(18:04):
shut him down. And if youremember, Trump had a protest that was
about twenty minutes walking distance away fromthe Capitol, all right, and once
the place got breached, Twitter shuthim down approximately around one o'clock in the
afternoon. So that that may answerthe question of why Trump was not able

(18:26):
to get up to the masses.Yeah, he did. Did He did
a video statement, as I'm sureyou know, around four o'clock, which
was which was I understand that.I understand that, And I don't don't
think he encourages his supporters to stormthe capitol. I agree with I don't
think Tom. We've talked too,and I've said to you, I think
he made a mistake by having thatcrowd assemble on January sixth, because January

(18:51):
sixth was a pretty important day inmy opinion, I think that was a
okay, yeah, yeah, Iunderstand that. And and by the way,
there was release video that came outor released audio of Nancy Pelosi's daughter
of all people on when Nancy Pelosiwas leaving the capital saying that I should
have called out that I'm paraphrasing,I should have called out the National Guard.

(19:15):
This is all on me. Andthere is documentation of where Trump prior
to January sixth, asked the DCmayor maryel Bowser, we need national Guard
troops for protests because what they whatthe Trump administration was worried about. Are
we going to have BLM in Antifaand my supporters getting into a me lie.

(19:38):
So anyway, as far as that'sconcerned, getting back to the debate
last night, Yeah, Tom,I'm gonna I've got to tell you we
have a bad connection. I'm notgoing to cut you off, and I'm
going to ask you to be soyeah, I'm here. Can you hear
me? Okay, Yeah, You'rein and out and that's that's why I'm

(20:00):
leaving you on. But I justwant to be as quick as you can
because I don't want to lose yougo ahead, all right, So as
far as last night's debate is concerned, all right. The one thing that
really stuck out at me was whenTrump brought up the fact of how American
women, young women have been murderedby illegal aliens. Joe Biden threw back

(20:23):
in his face, Well, Americansessentially do the same thing. Well,
you know something, if we didn'thave these illegal aliens that Biden brought in,
these young women would not be rapedand murdered. I rest my case.
Go to your next caller. Well, thank you very much for that
direction, Tom, I appreciate it. Okay, Yeah, Tom, when

(20:45):
you hear it, when you listento the playback, you'll see that it
sounded pretty tough. As a matterof fact, this is the cut that
Tom was referring to. Cut onea, please, Rob, cut one
a. Look, there's so manyyoung women who have been including a young
woman who just is murdered, andhe went to the funeral. The idea

(21:07):
that she was murdered by by byan immigrant coming into They talk about that.
But here's the deal. There's alot of young women to be raped
by their by their in laws,by their by by their spouses, brothers
and sisters, by just it's justridiculous and they can do nothing about it,
and they try to rest them onthe cross state. Thank you.

(21:32):
Wow, So it's okay for immigrantsto come in. It's really not a
concern that young women are being murderedand raped because here within our regular American
population, we also have people whomurder and rape young women. That logic

(21:52):
escapes me. It's news at thebottom of the hour, six ten thirty
is the only line that is availableto know your reaction to the debate last
night. And Tom, I hopeyou are able to listen to the phone
call that you had. It wasbreaking up badly and that's why I pushed
you. We'll be back on Nightsideright after this. You're on Night Side

(22:17):
with Dan Ray on Boston's news radio. All right, back to the calls,
we go get everyone in, Ipromise, John in Hampton Beach,
New Hampshire. John next on Nightside. How are you hey, Dan?
How are you a long time?First time? No long time? You
were nice enough to send me acoffee bugs then once you know, all

(22:37):
right, well right much in fact, your buddy Mark Donn Florida is going
to be up here in July fourth. I will talk sometimes, love to
have you come up and have adrink with us at Hampton Beach on the
fourth. Anyway, I keep going, Okay, go ahead, yeah,
I will. I'll keep going.I have no respect for President Biden,
and I'll tell you why. Ithink it's despicable what his wife is doing.

(23:02):
She literally obviously wife's spouse. Isn'tthat the most important person in someone's
life, and she should have intervenedat some point, sat her husband down
and said, honey, cognitively, you can't do this anymore. I can't
read into her. I don't knowher. I've been to Washington since I
worked for the FBI, But ifshe didn't have the wherewithal to say,

(23:23):
do the country a favor, honey, we need to just ride off into
the sunset and enjoy our life andnot put the country at risk when you're
obviously not capable of handling the nuclearcodes and everything that goes to the president
tells me these people. In fact, I remember Biden when I back in
eighty eight, when I was inDC, as you probably I know,

(23:45):
you know Dan, when he wasrun out of the presidential race because he
was a plagiarist about that. NeilKinnick, I believe was the fellow who
Neil Kinnick, the labor leader,He lifted great passages from them. And
you already also alluded to the factthat he has it kind of blows my

(24:06):
mind. He literally has a bustof Robert F. Kennedy in his office.
Yet you already alluded to it.About a half an hour ago.
He denied his son seecret service protection. And yet five times, by the
way, five five separate. Yep. So when the liberal commentators like the
preface, even when they say maybehe should get out he's a good man,

(24:27):
No he's not. This is anad hominem attacked by me Laddin for
to the person, he's not agood person. People who steal, whether
it's speeches, you're bad. Whenyou cover for your son who is committee
felonies, you're bad. When youput your own personal ambition in front of

(24:48):
the nation's health, you're bad.And people saw that in Shame on those
who sought for the first time.Because I know Dan, that's why I
listen to you. You're part ofthe good part of the media. But
the media that's been covering for him. I've been listening to people all day
to day going, well, youknow, I mean, you know,
the media finally had his come upancecame on them that they had a political

(25:14):
agenda as opposed to be an unobjective. I report the news as I see
it. Let him for her decidewhat they want to do with what I'm
reporting. But they've been covering forthis man. It's sad. The fact
that you and I Dan go tobed every night and don't really kind of
wake up in a cult sweat goingJoe Biden literally has the nuclear codes is

(25:38):
really kind of beyond me. I'llfinish, and I'll finish with this.
I've heard some criticism of mister Trump, and I'll say this for him.
Think about this, Dan, andI'll make a very succinct He stood four
feet from a guy who literally hasbeen trying to take his literal freedom away

(26:00):
because he was guilty of deciding torun against him, and he remained composed,
He remained cobb. And when Igot a little frustrated with mister Trump
when they asked him a specific questionand he didn't answer it, he rebutted
what Biden said. But I'm like, you know what, if I was
mister Trump and I'd gone through everythingthat he had, I think he owed

(26:25):
himself to say, wait a minute. The fact that you said that no
servicemen had lost their lives under yourtenure, when we know more fact thirteen
men and women have died, therecould be no more egregious lie to this
country, me, as a taxpayerand someone who worked for the federal service,
that you would deny that a manand woman who in uniform died because

(26:49):
of your garliction of duty. Ithought mister Trump stayed completely composed, and
I think he owed it to himselfto say, I'll answer your question,
but I have to answer this man'sabsolute bs. He's not. I thought
it was a round. I'll closeof this. When mister Reagan told Ron

(27:10):
Mondale said, you know, Iwon't bring up my opponent's, you know,
youth of an experience. I thoughtmister Trump had that moment when he
said I didn't understand his answer,and I don't think he did. I
just kind of looked at the heavensand said, my god, where have
we gone? That this is what'sgoing on. Mister Trump wanted he's not

(27:30):
a saint. I don't put ahail on his head, but I thought
he had the greatest answer when hebrought up January sixth. Dan, He
said, what was the price ofbread at January sixth? What were you
paying at the gas pump? Whatare you paying for this and that?
And I, as just an averageAmerican, said, you know, mister
Trump, I remember what I paidand I'm going to bring that back to

(27:53):
the building booth when I stepped inthere in November because my life was better.
Please get to other calls, butDan, let me let me just
add one. Let me add onething if I could, Okay, because
you're a serious caller. Okay.If Donald Trump had not encouraged the crowd
to come to Washington on January sixth, and had conceded the election very much

(28:19):
in the same way that Al Goreconceded the election, it wouldn't even be
a contest in twenty twenty, twentytwenty four. You know, if if
for some reason, Donald Trump isnot elected in November, you can trace
it right back to January sixth. That was a huge tactical error that he
made to summon that crowd, thegood people and also the people who went

(28:42):
there with bad intentions. Dan,I, I respectfully so much disagree with
you. The call of that hadthe trouble with the phone line, yeah,
kind of alluded to it, unfortunately. I mean, it's just stuff
he did. We speak weeks before. Tell Pelosi, tell the mayor of

(29:03):
VC bring in a national guard. They were garylic in not providing security.
I don't think that mister Trump dida gosh darn thing on January sixth to
you know, import those people todo what they did. He asked Pelosi.
And as the gentleman said, andI know it's been widely reported,
so it's not me telling you this. I hear you. Daughter said she

(29:25):
failed but for providing security when itwas Pelosi's fault. Okay, I'm not
saying that he failed to survive toprovide security. I'm saying that after all
of the efforts that had been made, the legal efforts, all of this
stopped to steal stuff. You knowas well as I do, that the

(29:45):
January sixth day is merely a ceremonialmoment when all of the envelopes are are
presented or opened up. I shouldsay uh in the in the well of
the House, uh, or atthe Senate excuse, I'm not sure if
it's the House of Senate so strikethat they're opened up by the Vice President
and they read off the results. And there have been other members who objected

(30:08):
to in two thousand and four andall of that. I just think if
if January sixth hadn't happened, ifDonald Trump had not summoned those people come
and let's stop to steal, thevotes had been counted, the court challenges
had been made, the irony isthat still remains his achilles heel. Ironically,

(30:34):
someone should have sat him down andsaid, look, in America,
we win elections, we lose elections, and unless we have solid proof,
we don't go through this exercise.I'll leave you with this question, then,
Dan, I don't mean it,sincerely. What's the more egregious error
what you just said. I don'tneed to repeat it, yep. Or
a sitting president who literally puts inmotion the Department Justice that I used to

(30:59):
work for to literally incarcerate a manfor the crime of simply I want to
run against you and possibly defeat you. That is a Banana Republic more so
than January sixth, Or that's whatI would submit to both of them had
you know what a banana smells likewhen you hold it up in the morning
before you cut it to put theon your corn flakes. Both of those

(31:22):
incidents smelled very much. They smelledbananaish to me. Let me put it
like that. Okay, John, thank you much. You're very welcome,
sir. Thank you a great night. Good night. Okay, we're gonna
take a break. I said before, and I'll say it again. I'm
going to move him a little bitquickly right after this break, and we're
going to talk next hour two aswell. So callin now. If I
don't get you in this hour, you'll be really at the top of next

(31:45):
hour six, one, seven, two, five, four, ten thirty.
I'm trying to tell you what Ibelieve. If what I believe is
different than what you believe, feelfree. That was a great phone call
with John from Hampton Hampton. Beuh and I hope to have a few
more tonight and we will continue rightafter this. Now back to Dan ray

(32:07):
Line from the Window World night SideStudios on WBZ News Radio. Go to
Jony in Pennsylvania. Jony, appreciateyour patience, your honey or go ahead,
Jony, Hi, it's me.I'm confused. I think Trump won
the debate, not by much, but he won. I'm still confused with

(32:30):
who to vote for. I mightjust do a write in. So,
so, who were you thinking ofvoting for before the debate last night?
Well, I'm still confused. Ithought that would help me to settle everything.
But ask you, who'd you votefor in twenty twenty? I did
a write in? You did awriting Okay, who'd you write in?

(32:52):
Anyone? We know? Oh?Forget? Yes, Okay, that's fine.
I think Trump won. I thinkTrump won the well, I think,
I think. I think if Iwatched CNN and they're convinced that Trump
steamrolled them last night, but Ithink Trump trump dad what he had to

(33:15):
accomplish. But you're still open minded. You've got rfks out there as an
independent. He's got about a lovepercent of those polls. No, nope,
okay, you've got Cornel West. You got other other options, Jill
Stein. There are some perennial presidentialcandidates. I'm not sure how many will
be on the ballot in Pennsylvania. But you know what, Jony, you

(33:37):
keep calling the show and let usknow what you're thinking. And as as
you develop you might be the personin the country who will go from undecided
and actually pick the winner for us. Okay, how did the retrial though
the jury is still out. Theythey they've gone home for the weekend.
They started deliberating on Tuesday. Uhso today was day four and day five

(34:00):
will shot on Monday. They toldthe judge that they were deadlocked, but
the judge told him to go backand work on it. And they came
back from and said they still haveno decision. No decision, all right,
thanks Jody, have a great weekend. Happy for good night. Okay,

(34:22):
Dan. The Democrats decision and Biden'sdecision to stick to the game is
highly irresponsible. That debate last nightwas partly tragedy and partly farce. It's

(34:43):
very clear that Biden just isn't upto it. It is I were willing
to bet anything on the fact thathe would not it's elected, he would
not make it through four years, either his mind or his body would give
out. And the voters are notinclined toward Kamala Harris. In other words,
if Biden is the candidate, thepresidency is handed to Donald Trump and

(35:08):
the party has nobody to blame. But themselves. However, I think that
there is a possibility that Robert F. Kennedy Junior can pull a real surprise.
He's surprisingly popularly and not surprising tome. And I disagree with a
few of his uh a few ofhis principles, but I think overall he

(35:30):
is for example on Ukraine, butI think that overall he is the best
candidate. He is smart, heis he's not ambitious in the way that
some presidential candidates are. He hasa platform, and I'm for Robert F.

(35:54):
Kennedy Junior, and he's bald. He's got my vote. Well,
it'd be interesting when they come upwith some polls, probably like Monday or
Tuesday, it would be interesting tosee if Biden. I assume that Trump
is going to hold the number ormaybe increase his number. I'm assuming that

(36:14):
Biden is going to have a bitof a drop off or a drop off,
and it might be interested to seehow much of that drop off goes
to Robert Kennedy. You said thatI think did you say that you agreed
with his You disagree with some ofhis positions or his principles. Some of
it is the political positions, okay, but you don't disagree with his principles.

(36:36):
No, I don't even disagree withhis principles. I think he's over
all the best candidate, all right, and I think he's going to end
up surprising an awful lot of people. The fact that Biden wouldn't give him
Secret Service protection in light of hisfamily's history of assassinations tells us that Biden
is afraid of the guy and istrying to discourage him from running. There

(36:59):
is no other explanation for why theyare doing this to a member of a
family with two high profile political assassinations. It's also a very dangerous game to
play, in my opinion, becauseif God forbid, some nutjob decided that
he wanted his name or her wantthat. You know, we can't forget

(37:20):
Squeaky Frome who took a shot atGerald Ford, and the other woman who's
done Sarah Jane Moore who Ford. They took shots and missed Ford twice in
San Francisco in ninete. I thinkit was in November of nineteen seventy five,
a pretty bad month for Gerald Ford. Oh, actually a good month
because he wasn't hit. But ifsome nutjob takes a shot at Robert f.

(37:42):
Kennedy and God forbid kills him. What then the public would know that
he had no Secret Service protection? And I think, yeah, theil whether
he is privately arranged for protection,we don't know that. Well well,
well right, and I hope hehas, but that is going to cost

(38:02):
his campaign money. That he hasa legitimate candidate, you know, Dan
Ray Hobby Silverglate run for president whenwe're not serious candidates, We're not going
to get secret Service protection. Buthe's a serious he's a serious candidate.
Nonetheless, Harvey, great points asalways got partly serious because he's the best

(38:23):
candidate. Yeah, of course.Yeah. And to be a third party
candidate at this point and have elevenpercent, that shows substantial support amongst the
population. Thank you, my friend. Of a great weekend, Happy fourth
of July. We'll talked. I'msure we'll talk before the fourth. Thanks
Harvey. All right, let meget George and Westwood. George, you're
gonna get you in here so youdon't have to wait through the news.

(38:44):
Go ahead, George, you gotit sure. Regarding the tweet that Sean
was alluding to, I forwarded thatI retweeted it to your night side Accountay,
both the Trump tweet to stay peaceful, plus the Trump speech to everybody
to go home not to follow thetrap. Well, yeah, no,
let me tell you. Look,I heard the speech and I during the

(39:06):
news break here, I will lookat the tweet and I'll share that with
the audience. Thank you very muchfor sending it to me, George,
and I will share it with theaudience. I assume you feel Trump won
the debate last night. Oh,there was no question about that. The
only surprise I had was how fierceCNN was. But there might have been
a reason for that. There mighthave been an ulterium motive for that.

(39:27):
But going back to the New YorkTimes article that you are referred to,
I just want to read the firstfew words of the last paragraph. It
is the best chance to protect thesoul of the nation like from Trump.
Seventy five million Americans, middle classAmericans voted for President Trump, and the
New York Times gave it a deplorablemoment to protect the nation from the seventy

(39:54):
five million middle class Americans. That'sanother deplorable Yeah. I will tell you
also that if you if you lookat Toat's Globe, I think James Pindell
who is no one would mistake asa Republican, gave Donald Trump a B
last night, which I think isa fair grade, and he gave Joe

(40:15):
Biden an F. Exactly. Imight have given Biden a D minus.
But when James Pindell of the Pindall, I help him pronounce it his name
correctly. He's a comment you know, commentator. He's not a reporter,
but he comments more. And hewas very fair in his analysis. In
my opinion, he was accurate aswe're as we're the CNN hosts, they

(40:36):
were accurate as well. John King, who I remember from the Boston Latin
hallways. I watched Closa seventy nine. He was one year below below me.
CASTI I remember him. He gotit spot on. But regarding Kamala
Harris's interview yesterday on CNN, shetalked about how Biden is in the meetings
with the world leaders, in themeetings with the military leaders. But you

(40:59):
know, Dan, there's an elephantin the room here. The elephant in
the room is Anthony Blinken. Heis also in all those meetings. And
if Biden gets replaced, you heardit here first, Dan, it'll be
Anthony Blincoln. If that happens, called back and take a victory lap.
I gotta run, George, Igot you before the ten o'clock news.
Thank you. I'll look for thefor the tweets, thank you. Here

(41:20):
comes the ten o'clock news on nightside. We're coming back to the other side.
