A Couple Hundred People March on Boston Common for PANDAS/PANS

Ian Gusch grew up struggling to deal with pandas pan,
a misunderstood medical condition that affects the body's immune system
and is often misdiagnosed as mental illness.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
I don't remember much my childhood. My childhood but by
remember is pretty pretty poor in terms of, uh, you know,
I wasn't really I wasn't really normal kid, you know,
I kind of was on the outside of the Frenches.

Speaker 1 (00:20):
While his childhood was lonely, Ian was not alone and
estimated one of every two hundred children suffer from Panda's PAN.
But thanks to a correct diagnosis and treatment, Ian has
a new lease on life.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
I'm in college now with Gomo kids on guys, and
it's it's it's definitely night and day, and it's everybody
deserves a chance to be healthy.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
And Ian's a student at mass Maritime Academy and hopes
to graduate and enlist in the Merchant Marine.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
Not an easy school, but it's it's the one where
I feel like, you know, I belong. It's the one
where I feel like, uh, you know, I have liked
and accepted and that I'm not only that, but also
that I could come out and be successful.
