Street Christmas morning. Raccoon captured after showing every indication it
was rabid, and a short time later that raccoon was
confirmed positive for rabies by a state lab. Police in
Hopedale receiving calls from residence Christmas morning of a raccoon
behaving very aggressively in a neighborhood, behavior consistent with a

possible rabies infection. A statement from the town said the
raccoon was euthanized by police using the safest available method
under the circumstances, but town officials didn't specify what the
method was. Some residents not happy with the process, critical
