Andover Teacher To Receive Kidney Due To Community Member's Help

The Emery and Mysic families have been friends for around
thirteen years, but it was this past one that really
solidified their bond. That's because Elena Emory was in need
of a kidney due to a genetic disease.

Cast the net, Ron Missik stepped up. After initially missing
all the signs literally over one hundred actual billboards for
Elena looking for a living donor. Now, after getting tested
and joining the National Kidney Registry, a donor exchange process
was set up.

Speaker 3 (00:29):
I was able to donate to someone closer to my
age group and so that puts again Elena to the top.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
Elena has been paired with a match and will receive
a new kidney in just over a week thanks to
her friend Ron.
