Attleboro Warns Of Possible Copperhead Snake

There's a warning out from Attleborough officials about a possible
copperhead snake that's believed to have bitten two dogs by
the ten Mile River. I wanted a closer look at
the venomous creature, so I went to the Blue Hills
Trail Side Museum. Jacob Wolf works there and says these
snakes aren't usually the type to go after humans. Instead,
they go for.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
Mice, chipmunks, you know, small amphibians, even other like smaller reptiles, snakes,
but maybe small birds. But it's really mostly small rodents.

Speaker 1 (00:27):
If venom isn't enough to keep you away, Wolf tells
me they're an endangered species. So copperheads don't want to
be around humans either.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
If you see one, just keep your distance, you know,
and don't try to provoke it in any way.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
Attleborough residents are asked to contact the Health Department if
they see a copperhead while out and about from Blue Hills.
