Boston Legacy FC Proposes Practice Facility In Brockton, Mass.

Boston Legacy FC is working with the City of Brockton
to build its new training facility in offices on the
old Remova Park site that has long been abandoned after
original plans for a sports complex there fell through. Brockton
Mayor Robert Sullivan says he's excited to have the team
come to the city and that the plan includes fields
for youth soccer players to use.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
The ownership group have made it clear to me that
this is a facility that's going to be utilized by
the youth youth soccer, the next generation, right and you
know who knows, there might be some Brockton girls soccer
players right now that will play for Legacy someday.

Speaker 1 (00:30):
Clark lives in the area and is a big soccer fan.
He's excited for the future of the site.

Speaker 3 (00:34):
I think that it's great that it's going to actually
get used for soccer now finally, rather than the strip
mine that he used to look like.

Speaker 1 (00:41):
But some residents near the site, like Anna, are worried
about more unfulfilled promises.

Speaker 4 (00:45):
I'm a little skeptical because they were supposed to build
the sports complex five years ago and nothing happened, So
I don't know how this one's gonna go about.
