Boston Public School Students Showing Off Their Talents At Annual Festival

The Boston Latin Academy Jazz Band is performing beneath a
big tent that's set up here for the thirteenth annual
city Wide Arts Festival, and.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
It's really just an opportunity to get the students out
of their schools to showcase all the hard work they've
been doing all year, share what they do with each other.
They get a chance to see each other perform, and
also have the public be able to see what we
do in Boston Public Schools every day.

Speaker 1 (00:23):
Amy Wedge is Executive Director of the Arts for Boston
Public Schools. The four day festival features students of all
ages and all kinds of groups, from a gospel choir
to an orchestra.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
It's important that children feel validated in identifying as artists
and seeing that what they do is appreciated by others.
