Dusty Smith lives in a truck, but this is just
about the most deluxe box truck you've ever laid eyes on.

I wanted to build this so that the actual living
the house would be just as convenient as any other house.

He's a carpenter by trade and describes himself as somewhere
between hippie and normy. He's tired of Boston, and he
built this custom tiny house inside a truck with a
dream of driving it to San Diego. Right now, he's
doing carpentry to fund his escape from New England.

I can do this.

There's so many things we can do in life, though,
and I do not love this.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
But his real dream is to get some investors to
fund tiny house villages, which use less resources.

Speaker 3 (00:38):
So my home uses about seven gallons of water per day.
The average US home uses two hundred and twenty four
gallons per day.
