Speaker 1 (00:00):
It all started when an alert went out that two
African painted dogs, who were actually just two fast role players,
had escaped and ran out into Franklin Park Zoo. New
England President and CEO John Lenehan took over as the
incident commander and told the responders to help guide them
back to familiar territory.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
Often, when animals are outside their habitat, they get a
little nervous and they want to get back on their own,
so sometimes you can just provide them with that avenue.
But in this case that didn't work.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
Staff for ball departments, whether they're just in charge of
animals or marketing, jumped into action. They managed to catch
the role players and return them with the help of
state and environmental police along with park rangers and the
Animal Rescue League. Lenahan says, while these incidents are incredibly rare,
it's important to be prepared.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
We emphasize everybody's involved in this. Everybody's got a role,
and that's how we'll be successful.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
