Cambridge Launches First Annual Porchfest

Singer songwriter m Wise has had a wild journey as
an artist, and it all led her here a garage
alongside Brookline Street near Central Square, helping headline Cambridge's first
Porch Fest. She's only been a singer songwriter for about
a year now, but it's something she's been dreaming of
for a while.

Speaker 3 (00:21):
I was always like the angsty poetry writer, but I
didn't have the means to like write songs behind it.
So once I started teaching myself guitar, it kind of
all came into place.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
Now she has a crown of a few dozen people
singing along to her originals. But she's not the only
act playing this weekend. That are acts playing dad rock, jazz,
indie rock, blues, Latin dance, and a whole lot more.
It's that variety that gets many people excited to get
out and explore.

Speaker 4 (00:45):
I think part of what's nice about Porch Fest is
like we're all doing a choose your own adventure, so
like I can hang out for you a little bit,
but some in our group might stay longer, and so
it's just nice to like have that freedom from Cambridge.
