Fiesa del Rio is a celebration of culture, music, food,
and of being together, but because of recent ice raids
in the area, the city is canceling this year's event,
citing feelings of fear and uncertainty. It's something Zach is
not happy with.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
It's definitely not right. You know, the city should have
the ability to have a festival, and the people who
live in the city should be able to go, feel
comfortable and not worry about getting deported.
Speaker 1 (00:22):
The city says it believes it would not be right
to hold a celebration at a time when members of
the community may not feel safe attending.
Speaker 3 (00:28):
It's a wonderful event and I attended it every year
and it's just very disappointing that they elected not to
do it.

The event was originally going to be how next Saturday.
