City Of Salem To Change Parking Payment In 7 Parking Lots To Online Only

Right now, there's options pay on the passport app or
pay at the kiosk, but on Saturday that's going to change.
At seven Witch City parking lots, Silas is sad to
see the kiosks go.

I really like the kiosks. I mean, you know, you
have some extra quarters, you can just woo and then
you get parking. I mean it's fantastic.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
I met up with Tim at the Church Street West
lot after he paid on the passport app.

Speaker 3 (00:19):
I have a couple of these other apps, you know,
similar parking apps, and it's so much easier because you
can add time, like if you're in a restaurant you
need another hour.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
Josh isn't loving the idea that he'll only be able
to pay on his phone, and his mom isn't either.

Speaker 4 (00:32):
To me, the kiosk is a lot easier, especially for
people who are not up with the whole telephone apps
stuff like that.

Speaker 1 (00:42):
He hasn't had any problems, but Salem officials say the
kiosks have been having maintenance issues, so it'll cost less
just to take them out and have people pay on
