The Department of Conservation and Recreations. Swimming pools in Massachusetts
are now open for the season. That's twenty four pools
open in addition to the more than thirty beaches staffed
with lifeguards, and the DCR is offering free swimming lessons
at nineteen pools across the state this summer. Registration is required.
This year, DCR has hired more than five hundred and

eighty lifeguards to get through the summer months, and they're
still looking for about fifty more. If you're interested. Massachusetts
offers cash incentives to lifeguards who work through the summer,
and also the state covers the cost of training. The
season typically runs through mid August and in the hot
days ahead, if you're looking for a quick cool down,
don't forget the many splash pads in and around Boston.
