Duxbury Residents Voice Concerns Over Potential Battery Farm In Area

We feel it doesn't belong in a neighborhood.

Hearing a lot of that these days around Duxbury, where
there's an upcoming town hall meeting next week to discuss
the potential of a battery storage facility that would be
built and located not far from Route three.

Speaker 3 (00:12):
We think that this idea is interesting. Batteries are the
thing of the future.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
These battery facilities help shore up energy storage, but the
threat of battery fires is on the minds of many
as these projects continue to be proposed. Many town residents
are aware this is the wave of the future, but
it comes at a cost, and there's many homeowners who
say the results are not worth the risk.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
But this size and scope and the location just as
we don't think is appropriate.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
We want to stop this project from coming in.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
A meeting to discuss this project will take place this
upcoming Tuesday night at the Duxbury Town Hall in Duxbury.
