E-Bike Community Pushes Back On Proposed Regulations In Plymouth

The Town of Plymouth is split when it comes to e-bikes, as the Select Board considers implementing restrictions on their use.

brings his e bike to work every day and spends
his lunch hour taking a ride down to the Plymouth waterfront.

So you've got a small compact car, he says, to
go ahead and go with you anywhere you go.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
As part of a growing number of voices who wants
the town to reconsider proposed e bike restrictions, which would
cover everything from speeds to helmet requirements and age limits.
The e bike community is growing. They feel they're being targeted.

Speaker 1 (00:26):
They're cool to get you around a little quicker than
the regular bikes.

Speaker 4 (00:28):
Way better than sitting at a screen for eight hours
a day and playing video games and doing nonsense like that.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
There's an important deadline next week for any e bike
regulations that need to be finalized for consideration in the
